- 0:43Speaker 1: Not today, No, not today. You know, we have so many,
- 0:47Speaker 1: We have so many And this is actually a suggestion
- 0:49Speaker 1: from someone in our she Rises Facebook community. So thank
- 0:52Speaker 1: you because when I read this, I was like, that's
- 0:54Speaker 1: really fucking cool. I wouldn't know your top five Yeah,
- 0:57Speaker 1: so it's our top five of everything. We're talking top
- 0:59Speaker 1: five beauty products, top five restaurants, top five TV series
- 1:04Speaker 1: and it hot takes and hold grails and books yeah,
- 1:08Speaker 1: top five books. So get a pen ready or have
- 1:11Speaker 1: your phone out so you can write it in your
- 1:13Speaker 1: notes because you want to write these all down because
- 1:15Speaker 1: these are the best of the best of everything that
- 1:16Speaker 1: we love for us. All right, let's get started. Way
- 1:19Speaker 1: we start many books. Look, yeah, let's go say good books.
- 1:23Speaker 1: What's your one for one? Okay? Cool? So my first
- 1:27Speaker 1: book is The Obstacle Is the Way. Oh have you read?
- 1:29Speaker 1: I don't know. I have not tell me about book.
- 1:31Speaker 2: So just to give you a short summary, it is
- 1:33Speaker 2: essentially about looking for the obstacles in your life and
- 1:36Speaker 2: the thing that you feel really challenged by is the
- 1:39Speaker 2: thing that you might.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Avoid, but it is the way. And when you can
- 1:42Speaker 1: face the challenge with like resilience and strength and a
- 1:46Speaker 1: willingness to overcome it, you will realize that what you're seeking,
- 1:49Speaker 1: essentially is on the other side of that obstacle. Cool.
- 1:52Speaker 1: It's a really good book. It's a very easy read.
- 1:54Speaker 1: That's going to say. It is an easier heart read.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Easy read, very personal development, self awareness kind of book.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Would highly recommend. Oh I love that, okay you. The
- 2:04Speaker 1: first one that came to my mind was The Resilience Project.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Incredible read all that gratitude but also about his whole
- 2:10Speaker 1: life story about his sister's eating disorder and how they
- 2:12Speaker 1: impacted the family, his trip overseas to work in I
- 2:16Speaker 1: think it was an orphanage or a school, and how
- 2:18Speaker 1: that changes life for the better. And I feel like,
- 2:21Speaker 1: ever since I read that book, I've practiced gratitude ever since. Wow,
- 2:26Speaker 1: it just stuck with me. It hit me like a
- 2:28Speaker 1: ton of bricks. I had relatability around just learning because
- 2:32Speaker 1: I had a friend that went through an eating disorder
- 2:33Speaker 1: as well, and just how that family worked through that.
- 2:36Speaker 1: It was just amazing. And he is so vulnerable and
- 2:38Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure he has a podcast. I've interviewed him before.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Oh wow. Yeah, he's incredible, just a really great human,
- 2:45Speaker 1: very Ozzie almost Bogan. But just the way he explains
- 2:48Speaker 1: things is just so easy to digest. And the book
- 2:51Speaker 1: I would even read again. Anyone that's stuck feeling ungrateful,
- 2:55Speaker 1: feeling lost, feeling frustrated at the world, at life, but
- 2:59Speaker 1: the things that have happened to you, go and read
- 3:01Speaker 1: this book because it will change your life. Oh, I
- 3:03Speaker 1: haven't read it yet.
- 3:04Speaker 2: It very easy read too, Yeah, yeah, sometimes you need
- 3:08Speaker 2: an easy read. Yeah, depends on where you're at. Beautiful,
- 3:11Speaker 2: Thank you for sharing. So the next one is The Alchemist.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Have you read that. I've heard of it, I haven't
- 3:17Speaker 1: read it. Oh, it's such a beautiful book. I saw
- 3:20Speaker 1: people recommend this book to me for ages, and I
- 3:23Speaker 1: was like, I never really felt pul to it.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Then I sat down and I read it. I binged
- 3:27Speaker 2: read it in one night, and I stayed up until
- 3:29Speaker 2: three o'clock in the morning. Because it's not your usual
- 3:32Speaker 2: personal development book. It's a storytelling book.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Oh, I would love it.
- 3:36Speaker 2: And it takes you on a journey of this man
- 3:38Speaker 2: and his story to alchemizing basically the shit in his
- 3:42Speaker 2: life and the shit experiences he had into gold. And
- 3:45Speaker 2: it's all about shifting your perspective and they do it
- 3:49Speaker 2: so creatively throughout the storytelling of the book. For me,
- 3:52Speaker 2: this book, I was like sucked in. Honestly, it's so beautiful.
- 3:56Speaker 2: I just remember the way that it left me feeling.
- 3:58Speaker 1: After I read it, I was like, Oh, I get it,
- 4:01Speaker 1: Like I get what it truly means to be able
- 4:04Speaker 1: to alchemize the things that happen in your life from
- 4:06Speaker 1: a really negative thing into something that is positive. So cooled.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Yeah, really really beneficial book. Amazing, also super easy read. Okay,
- 4:14Speaker 2: I'm getting about this thick oh, which is probably like
- 4:17Speaker 2: a centimeter or two.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, that's my kind of book. Anything that's super thick,
- 4:20Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, I keep your own way. Yeah, I
- 4:22Speaker 1: get that. My next one is called The Happiest Man Alive.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Oh I've seen that. Oh my gosh, one of the
- 4:28Speaker 1: best books I have ever read. Oh, give us a
- 4:31Speaker 1: little bit of a story. Okay. It's a man that
- 4:33Speaker 1: grows up in the German War. I can never pronounce
- 4:36Speaker 1: his word, so no one come at me. I'll switch camp. Yes, yes, yep, yeah,
- 4:40Speaker 1: I'm actually visiting there in August. Steve and I are
- 4:42Speaker 1: going to go and visit the camps, which is going
- 4:44Speaker 1: to be really hard and eerie and sad. But his
- 4:48Speaker 1: journey of being in the war and being a slave
- 4:51Speaker 1: and escaping with his sister, escaping with a friend, being
- 4:55Speaker 1: separated from his family, his mom and dad, getting murdered,
- 4:58Speaker 1: and then eventually coming to Australia and at over one
- 5:02Speaker 1: hundred years old, he claims he's the happiest man alive
- 5:04Speaker 1: from what he's been through. But wow, the details of
- 5:07Speaker 1: what that man endured. I was crying in so much
- 5:10Speaker 1: of this book. I'm really fascinated and interested and intrigued
- 5:16Speaker 1: and just want to know all about that war. But
- 5:18Speaker 1: it really rocks me. I get a bit consumed in it.
- 5:21Speaker 1: And Steve showed me he's different documentaries and he studied it,
- 5:25Speaker 1: and so I was my mum. So any questions I
- 5:26Speaker 1: have to go to them. But what about this They
- 5:28Speaker 1: explain things further. So I recommend anyone to read it
- 5:31Speaker 1: because it just it's like, holy fuck, what they had
- 5:33Speaker 1: to go through, like the shit we complain about. Yeah, yeah,
- 5:36Speaker 1: it makes me feel so sick. Sometimes I'm like, why
- 5:39Speaker 1: the fuck am I winching about that? Like we do
- 5:41Speaker 1: not know how good we've got it. You read this book.
- 5:44Speaker 1: It is just brutal what they put their bodies through,
- 5:47Speaker 1: how they hurt them, how they starved them, the conditions
- 5:50Speaker 1: they had to live in, what they do to their
- 5:52Speaker 1: family members. They just took full control over them. It's
- 5:56Speaker 1: so freaking sad and confronting. But this book is so moving.
- 6:00Speaker 1: You would be not human to not be moved by
- 6:02Speaker 1: this book. And this man.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Really put things into perspective. Hey, yes, we don't have
- 6:07Speaker 2: a struggle in comparison to like their struggle.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Yeah, And even though we weren't alive in when all
- 6:11Speaker 1: that was happening. Like, I just think it's so respectful
- 6:13Speaker 1: to understand what they went through. And yeah, we're going
- 6:16Speaker 1: in August. We're flying to Poland. It's our first stop
- 6:18Speaker 1: on Steve and i A's europe vacation for two weeks
- 6:21Speaker 1: without the kids, which is going to be really hard.
- 6:23Speaker 1: This is our third time planning a Europe trip together.
- 6:27Speaker 1: We had to cancel the two times with woman. So
- 6:29Speaker 1: you're like, fuck it, let's go. Yeah. So I'm going
- 6:31Speaker 1: to go to the camps, which I don't think i'd
- 6:33Speaker 1: feel comfortable taking the kids too, to be honest, just
- 6:35Speaker 1: to get maybe when they're be older and they can
- 6:36Speaker 1: understand and learn about it. Yeah. So yeah, I'll let
- 6:39Speaker 1: you guys know the experience and the tourist and what
- 6:41Speaker 1: we learn further from there. We would love to hear
- 6:43Speaker 1: about it. The happiest man Alive, you'd highly recommend. All right.
- 6:47Speaker 1: My next book is called Attached, and it's got two
- 6:50Speaker 1: like metal magnets on it. Oh and so basically this
- 6:53Speaker 1: book is all about attachment theory. So anyone who is
- 6:57Speaker 1: wanting to understand how they navigate relationships, what their past
- 7:01Speaker 1: relationships consist of right, why past relationships happen, the way
- 7:06Speaker 1: that they happened, and how you've previously showed up within
- 7:08Speaker 1: relationship dynamics. Hands down, every single person on the planet
- 7:12Speaker 1: needs to read this book to understand themselves, understand their past,
- 7:16Speaker 1: and also understand themselves moving forward.
- 7:18Speaker 2: It is a potent book that will help you understand
- 7:21Speaker 2: your attachment style and just help you have a deeper
- 7:24Speaker 2: understanding of maybe why you do the things that you
- 7:27Speaker 2: do or why others even do. Yeah, And I think
- 7:30Speaker 2: that level of understanding also creates a sense of relief
- 7:35Speaker 2: or pers or just understanding, you know, and it will
- 7:39Speaker 2: just it will help make sense of things so much more.
- 7:41Speaker 1: I like, I understand the attachment styles, but probably not
- 7:44Speaker 1: to the depth of what that book would explain. So
- 7:46Speaker 1: I would love to read that. They even have exercises
- 7:48Speaker 1: within the book, so the way that they kind of
- 7:50Speaker 1: count and help you understand whether you're anxious, secure, or
- 7:54Speaker 1: an avoidant attachment or a disorganized actions which is both
- 7:57Speaker 1: which I am. Yeah, me too. It'll make you go
- 7:59Speaker 1: okay in this situation da and then you have to
- 8:02Speaker 1: tick all and then you count the numbers. When you're
- 8:05Speaker 1: more you're an avoidant. The book store. I go after
- 8:08Speaker 1: this really really good, so good, Okay. The next one
- 8:12Speaker 1: for me was the Twisted series. Wow, Steve yew I
- 8:17Speaker 1: was reading a smart book because I was just so
- 8:20Speaker 1: turned on. Look, I haven't read the fourth there's four.
- 8:23Speaker 1: One and two were amazing. Third I just thought, shit,
- 8:26Speaker 1: so I haven't continued on to the fourth yet. One
- 8:28Speaker 1: and two amazing. And it's weird because the type of
- 8:33Speaker 1: sex and love making and relationship dynamics that these two
- 8:36Speaker 1: couples have in the two books is not what I
- 8:39Speaker 1: would like in my relationship yet. But I still found
- 8:41Speaker 1: it really sexy. Yeah, sexy to read, sexy to read
- 8:44Speaker 1: because from some points I was like, oh gosh, I
- 8:46Speaker 1: wouldn't like to be treated like that. I've spoken to
- 8:48Speaker 1: like that, or have sex like that. But it was
- 8:51Speaker 1: just hot. It was a hot series. Oh that's so fun.
- 8:55Speaker 1: You've raved about this series? Yea.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Me and I ended up buying I don't know why.
- 8:59Speaker 2: I think it was the only one that had in
- 9:00Speaker 2: the store. I bought Twisted Games, which I think is
- 9:02Speaker 2: the third book.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Oh that's what I didn't like. I can't remember the order,
- 9:05Speaker 1: but it's one of them, and are you saying, like,
- 9:07Speaker 1: don't even bother. You need to read it from the beginning,
- 9:09Speaker 1: and and the characters intertwined into each book. Yeah, so
- 9:12Speaker 1: the first couple, you still hear about the other characters,
- 9:14Speaker 1: and then the other characters become the main couple in
- 9:16Speaker 1: the next one, and vice versa, so they're all in
- 9:18Speaker 1: each of the books. Yeah, those two main stars. See,
- 9:21Speaker 1: I don't have a relationship to go back to here,
- 9:22Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to use my vibrancy. Yeah, he will,
- 9:24Speaker 1: he will. That's fun. Yeah. My next one is called
- 9:29Speaker 1: The New Psycho Cybernetics. So it's a big title.
- 9:32Speaker 2: That's scary. No, no, no, it's a big title. But
- 9:35Speaker 2: it's all about self concept Okay. So it basically shows
- 9:39Speaker 2: you real life examples of this man who completely transformed
- 9:42Speaker 2: his life by changing his self concept, changing the way
- 9:46Speaker 2: he sees himself, the way that he speaks to himself,
- 9:49Speaker 2: what he allows himself to think, feel, and choose in
- 9:53Speaker 2: his everyday life. And even if his circumstances made no
- 9:57Speaker 2: sense for him to think and feel a certain way,
- 9:59Speaker 2: he would commit to it. He would commit to the
- 10:01Speaker 2: new story of what he wanted. Yeah, and he would
- 10:05Speaker 2: essentially create that reality, and it's just the best book
- 10:08Speaker 2: that I've read around actually being able to do that
- 10:12Speaker 2: and implement it and get you into the feeling state
- 10:15Speaker 2: of you stepping into that.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I highly recommend it. Epic. Yeah, it's for sharing. I've
- 10:20Speaker 1: actually got three more. I know had on and drag
- 10:23Speaker 1: this on too much, so I was quickly brief over
- 10:25Speaker 1: all of them. Love and Respect is a relationship, one
- 10:27Speaker 1: that you put me onto, big one. It really changed
- 10:29Speaker 1: the way that I saw Steve respond to Steve, praise Steve,
- 10:33Speaker 1: respected Steve, and it helped me understand myself more on
- 10:37Speaker 1: what I needed in the relationship and what men need
- 10:39Speaker 1: in the relationship. Amazing book. It is a little bit religious,
- 10:43Speaker 1: so even if you're not religious, so you can just
- 10:45Speaker 1: relate it back to the universe or angel's spirit, whatever
- 10:48Speaker 1: you connect with. Really well read, and the author actually
- 10:52Speaker 1: reads it, so he just feels more personable. But I
- 10:55Speaker 1: just learnt so much and it's really changed the way
- 10:57Speaker 1: that I show up for Steve in a way that
- 10:59Speaker 1: he really needs me to. And I've really felt the
- 11:02Speaker 1: difference I felt him receive that really well. Conscious Parent
- 11:06Speaker 1: is a book I think every parent that wants to
- 11:07Speaker 1: be conscious for their children should read. It's by doctor Shafali.
- 11:10Speaker 1: I've seen her live, I've interviewed her. She's absolutely incredible.
- 11:13Speaker 1: She just breaks down easy ways that you can be
- 11:17Speaker 1: more conscious and support your children more emotionally so that
- 11:20Speaker 1: you don't pass on your wounds and triggers and create
- 11:23Speaker 1: unhealthy dynamics and attachment styles. She's just awesome. It's a
- 11:28Speaker 1: book that I think every parent should read. I've actually
- 11:29Speaker 1: got a friend who's read it seven times and she
- 11:31Speaker 1: said every time she reads it she hears something different
- 11:33Speaker 1: because their kids are different ages. Wow. And then the
- 11:35Speaker 1: last one is called the Four Agreements. But I should
- 11:37Speaker 1: have put the Five Agreements because there's a now a
- 11:39Speaker 1: further book out if you read it. No, I haven't,
- 11:41Speaker 1: but I've heard people rave about it, commended that one. Yeah,
- 11:44Speaker 1: I've actually got it at home. I just haven't started it. Yeah, amazing.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Definitely read it. The Four Agreements of Life. Now there's
- 11:49Speaker 1: a fifth one, and they just make so much sense.
- 11:52Speaker 1: If everyone followed these agreements, life would be a lot
- 11:54Speaker 1: more easier and smoother, and we would communicate better and
- 11:57Speaker 1: we'd understand each other better. It's just very simplified. So
- 12:00Speaker 1: I recommend that my books, I had so many more
- 12:03Speaker 1: than what I thought.
- 12:04Speaker 2: That's okay, that's okay, I have one more books, so
- 12:06Speaker 2: I'll quickly skim over it as well. This one is
- 12:07Speaker 2: called Existential Kink, So I've recommended this one to you.
- 12:11Speaker 2: It's actually about shadow work, so it's not a smart
- 12:13Speaker 2: book just for anyone listening.
- 12:15Speaker 1: It's about shadow work and self development. So this is
- 12:18Speaker 1: for anyone who has already done shadow work. If you
- 12:20Speaker 1: haven't done it before, wouldn't recommend it because it's very controversial,
- 12:24Speaker 1: very controversial. Interesting, it helps you uncover your shadows in
- 12:28Speaker 1: a way where basically, in a nutshell, it tells you
- 12:32Speaker 1: that everything bad in your life you like in some degree.
- 12:35Speaker 1: It's a really you've got to be really open minded.
- 12:38Speaker 1: You've got to be willing to hear what she's saying,
- 12:40Speaker 1: and you've got to be willing to see yourself in
- 12:42Speaker 1: a different way. Right, So it is confronting, it is controversial,
- 12:45Speaker 1: and it will challenge you.
- 12:46Speaker 2: So yes, only read that if you are ready to
- 12:49Speaker 2: read it. If it doesn't feel like a pool to
- 12:50Speaker 2: you just yet, don't read it.
- 12:52Speaker 1: That's interesting. It's like doctor Martini and Robert what's his name?
- 12:57Speaker 1: Always forget his last name, the guy that invented botox.
- 12:59Speaker 1: He says the same thing too. Whatever you judge, you attract, Yes, yeah,
- 13:03Speaker 1: and it's really very confronting. Yes, when you really look
- 13:06Speaker 1: into it. And then I've seen certain examples and I'm like,
- 13:09Speaker 1: oh god, yes, I can see why that needed to
- 13:11Speaker 1: come in. Yeah. Yeah. Anyways, moving on from books, let's
- 13:15Speaker 1: move on to beauty products. This is nice and lighthearted.
- 13:18Speaker 1: We love recommending good beauty products. What's your first one?
- 13:21Speaker 1: My first one is my face wash. I love that.
- 13:24Speaker 1: I'm obsessed. I just recently tried a different one and
- 13:26Speaker 1: I'm like, I want my face one. We both tried
- 13:28Speaker 1: a different one and both of us were like, hash shit,
- 13:29Speaker 1: was it oil based? One? Not do it?
- 13:32Speaker 2: It was fully natural though, so it was a little
- 13:34Speaker 2: bit different. This one's just from Sephora. It's called Kate
- 13:36Speaker 2: Somerville Milk wash and honestly oven milk. It's goat's milk.
- 13:40Speaker 2: I've been using it.
- 13:41Speaker 1: For a good like four years, Like, really beautiful, highly
- 13:45Speaker 1: recommend whenever we go away. I don't bring it clensic. Yeah.
- 13:48Speaker 1: I love my yes to face and never bring either.
- 13:52Speaker 1: But it is really nice. Yeah, it's really good. Oh
- 13:54Speaker 1: I love that. Mine's a face one as well. It's
- 13:56Speaker 1: the Esmex Folliant Rose and Bamboo. No, this is not sponsored. Yes,
- 14:00Speaker 1: I have worked with them, but this is one product
- 14:01Speaker 1: I will continue to buy for the rest of my life.
- 14:03Speaker 1: It is so good. I love that feeling of clean skin.
- 14:08Speaker 1: But most exfoliance I find you feel like they kind
- 14:10Speaker 1: of strip your skin of its natural oils. This does
- 14:13Speaker 1: the opposite. Cleans your skin so well, but it leaves
- 14:16Speaker 1: your face so soft. It's beautiful. I want you to try.
- 14:20Speaker 1: I think you really like. I got to try it
- 14:21Speaker 1: Rosen Bamboo, and I just feel like it makes my
- 14:23Speaker 1: makeup sit nice as well. I using once or twice
- 14:25Speaker 1: a week. It's beautiful. I tried the other ones and
- 14:28Speaker 1: I didn't love them. They've got like a charcoal one,
- 14:30Speaker 1: a green one, I think, another one. I tried them all,
- 14:34Speaker 1: but this one just stood out. So it's just incredible
- 14:36Speaker 1: to have a look. Yeah, I try mine before you
- 14:38Speaker 1: buy it, Okay, cool, Yeah I will. Yeah.
- 14:40Speaker 2: So my next one is actually actually got me onto this.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Actually it's the venty Contour Stick.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Oh. Yes, it's good. It is so good. Oh my god.
- 14:48Speaker 1: At the moment, I'm just mainly putting contour concealer blush, yeah,
- 14:53Speaker 1: and mascara and lipliner. Yeah.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Like literally just five products. I'm just like good to
- 14:56Speaker 2: go whenever i have that conto stick. It has changed
- 14:59Speaker 2: the game. I used to use powder all the time,
- 15:01Speaker 2: and then you converted me to that, and I tried
- 15:03Speaker 2: it one time and I was like, Oh, what have.
- 15:04Speaker 1: I I've been doing all these years? Yeah, cream products
- 15:07Speaker 1: all the way. Cream just melts into your skin. It
- 15:09Speaker 1: looks more glowy and dewey.
- 15:10Speaker 2: It looks more natural, and you know what's interesting about
- 15:13Speaker 2: that or somebody who used to use powder all the time.
- 15:16Speaker 2: At first, I was like, oh my god, my face
- 15:18Speaker 2: looks oily. Yes, But now I'm like, no, my skin
- 15:21Speaker 2: looks healthy. Yeah, it looks that dewey look looks healthy.
- 15:24Speaker 1: It's a fine line. Sometimes I feel like I'm too shiny,
- 15:26Speaker 1: and other times I'm like, ah, glowing, Oh okay. My
- 15:30Speaker 1: next one is the peachy glowy blush from MC beauty.
- 15:35Speaker 1: There's also another one, but I'm forgetting the brand. It's
- 15:38Speaker 1: very similar. This one's just a bit more creamy. It's
- 15:40Speaker 1: almost a blush and a highlighter and a peachy color
- 15:42Speaker 1: all in one. Oh wow, it gives your cheek just
- 15:45Speaker 1: the nicest highlight, but it's got a lot of color
- 15:48Speaker 1: and pigment to it. Nothing beats it for me, just
- 15:49Speaker 1: hits the spot. Does. I've tried any other blushes and
- 15:52Speaker 1: I always go back to that one. Yeah, oh I
- 15:54Speaker 1: love that. Yeah. It's so cheap too from Woolies, Like, yeah,
- 15:57Speaker 1: you've shared me a couple of products from them. Yeah,
- 15:59Speaker 1: it's really good. Also non sponsored, but yeah, just a lover.
- 16:03Speaker 1: I just love yes.
- 16:05Speaker 2: So mine is the Patrick Tar Blush. Oh yeah, say
- 16:09Speaker 2: Like it's like a double one. So it's got a
- 16:11Speaker 2: cream and then it's got a powder as well. I
- 16:13Speaker 2: personally don't use the powder because it's quite pigmented and
- 16:15Speaker 2: the color is quite blushy.
- 16:17Speaker 1: It's very very pink clowny.
- 16:19Speaker 2: It's a bit like Barbie Doll kind of pink, like
- 16:21Speaker 2: a very light, faint pink. But the cream is next level,
- 16:26Speaker 2: Like it just looks so natural. I look a little
- 16:27Speaker 2: bit sun kissed, and it's just I've only recently tried
- 16:30Speaker 2: it these last couple of months, but it's just to
- 16:32Speaker 2: go to.
- 16:32Speaker 1: M love it. My next two I might as well
- 16:35Speaker 1: say together because they're both lip products. But the Mecha
- 16:38Speaker 1: Classy lip liner. We've said it a million times. We
- 16:40Speaker 1: both love it big fangirls. And even this morning I
- 16:42Speaker 1: had three swipe ups saying, what's on your lips? It's
- 16:44Speaker 1: Mecha Classy lip liner with the Hideaway lip balm. Yes,
- 16:47Speaker 1: the Hideaway lip balm is so nourishing and it gives
- 16:50Speaker 1: a nice shine. But it's not tacky and sticky, like
- 16:53Speaker 1: a little sticky at all. It's just makes your lips
- 16:55Speaker 1: look hydrated. But as you've got the color from the
- 16:57Speaker 1: line underneath, it is Che's kiss combo. So good. YEA
- 17:01Speaker 1: love it. My next one is Hideaway Vanilla Deli. I
- 17:05Speaker 1: have been fangirling over this perfume. Babe, you guys nailed it.
- 17:10Speaker 1: The Vanilla Delight is just like the most beautiful scent.
- 17:13Speaker 1: I was saying this to you before. I feel like
- 17:15Speaker 1: I'm always drowning myself in it. Now oh so addict.
- 17:18Speaker 1: And I never used to wear perfume before. For years,
- 17:21Speaker 1: I didn't because I used to give me a raging headache.
- 17:23Speaker 1: But now I'm like, this doesn't give me a headache.
- 17:25Speaker 1: I can wear perfume again. It's so nice. I kind
- 17:28Speaker 1: of feel like a complete shit outfit. It does. I'm like,
- 17:31Speaker 1: I'm ready to go.
- 17:32Speaker 2: You've really converted me with all your products at Hardaway,
- 17:34Speaker 2: I'm like, oh now I need to smell like delicious,
- 17:37Speaker 2: absolutely delicious, otherwise I can't leave the house.
- 17:39Speaker 1: It's just the best. It's just wrong. It's my own brand.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Of course I'm going to say that, but really is
- 17:43Speaker 1: that good? Like even coming up with these beauty products.
- 17:46Speaker 1: It's hard not to put all of Hiderraye because I
- 17:48Speaker 1: love them so much. But my last and final beauty
- 17:50Speaker 1: product that I recommend is a Chanelle Bronza. It comes
- 17:53Speaker 1: in three different shades, brought you on for Christmas last year,
- 17:55Speaker 1: and meg it just melts into the skin. It's not
- 17:58Speaker 1: very good at makeup. Yeah, I feel like the fancy
- 18:00Speaker 1: one I love, but if you're not good at makeup,
- 18:02Speaker 1: it's harder to use because it's a stick, whereas this
- 18:04Speaker 1: is just this creamy, moosy texture. I get a thick,
- 18:07Speaker 1: fluffy brush and it just melts into your skin and
- 18:09Speaker 1: gives you so much color. Do you recommend the lighter
- 18:12Speaker 1: color over the dark one. I've got the dark one
- 18:14Speaker 1: at the moment. It's good I from tan, but otherwise
- 18:17Speaker 1: I think I want to go back to the lighter color. Yeah,
- 18:18Speaker 1: a bit more expensive, but a whole tub will last
- 18:21Speaker 1: you years. It is really beautiful and it is out
- 18:24Speaker 1: to the contour. Ste like contour and bronze.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Yeah what you said for somebody who doesn't like do
- 18:29Speaker 2: contour very often?
- 18:30Speaker 1: Yeah on color like, Yeah, that looks really good. All right?
- 18:34Speaker 1: Should we move on to some food restaurant restaurants. I
- 18:37Speaker 1: think we're gonna have the same. I haven't looked at
- 18:38Speaker 1: your notes, but I'm guessing we have the same. You
- 18:40Speaker 1: go first, give me one Kaomi. I've got that on
- 18:43Speaker 1: my list. Both of us love it. It is one
- 18:46Speaker 1: of our favorite restaurants. The best restaurant, I reckon I've
- 18:50Speaker 1: ever been.
- 18:50Speaker 2: To, hands down, best Japanese restaurant, well overall, but yes.
- 18:55Speaker 1: It's a Japanese restaurant. The stay. Even the corn and
- 18:58Speaker 1: broccoli is the best corn and broccoli I've ever had.
- 19:00Speaker 1: The tooth fish, the tooth fish. You need to go.
- 19:03Speaker 1: If you haven't been to Kaomi, go get the tooth
- 19:06Speaker 1: Get the bone marrow with the potatoes that you dip in.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Oh I haven't tried that. Oh my gosh, you love
- 19:11Speaker 1: bone marrow. Oh my god, and the you love that one?
- 19:15Speaker 1: Oh my god, it's so delicious. Oh, anything you get
- 19:17Speaker 1: from there is next level quality taste. Sushi rolls the best, saying, yeah,
- 19:22Speaker 1: it is a bit more pricey, but I don't know.
- 19:24Speaker 1: I value food. So that's I send my money on. Understood,
- 19:28Speaker 1: So both got Kayomi, I've got ping pong, which I'm
- 19:31Speaker 1: taking Tiana to tonight. Oh excited. It's modern Asian here
- 19:33Speaker 1: in Brisbane, in Forotachue Valley. It's got these things called
- 19:36Speaker 1: beta leaves. It's got the best curries. What's the rice
- 19:40Speaker 1: dish we like? Not pad Thai padsuu. That one a
- 19:46Speaker 1: slow cooked beef short rib. Oh, you're gonna love it.
- 19:49Speaker 2: As she was telling me about this this morning, she
- 19:51Speaker 2: was describing it and I was like, oh my god,
- 19:52Speaker 2: I'm so hungry.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a ping pong and Brisbane. That's definitely a
- 19:55Speaker 1: highly recommended rest. Mine is Etsuit. I've got that on
- 19:59Speaker 1: my list too. So Etsue's on the Gold Coast is
- 20:01Speaker 1: located like between Broadbeach and Burley.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Yes, it is a really beautiful Japanese restaurant. If you
- 20:07Speaker 2: haven't been able to tell, Yeah, Japanese is our favorite.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Is and steak. Yeah.
- 20:12Speaker 2: So it's just really good. They have this like little
- 20:15Speaker 2: oh the sangle. It's called a wagu sando. Yes, and
- 20:19Speaker 2: it's this little thing it's got wago in it and
- 20:21Speaker 2: it's like a sandwich.
- 20:22Speaker 1: I wish I just got ten of those last time.
- 20:23Speaker 1: I honestly could. I could if we went there one
- 20:26Speaker 1: time and just keep them coming. We don't even eat
- 20:27Speaker 1: white bread, but it's on white bread, and the whole
- 20:29Speaker 1: thing is just delicious. For a one off, I'm down. Yeah,
- 20:32Speaker 1: so freaking good. The next one I put is Kin.
- 20:35Speaker 1: It's located in Burly Heads. It's a Japanese restaurant. Surprise, surprise, really,
- 20:39Speaker 1: I'm surprised you haven't been. No, I haven't heard to
- 20:41Speaker 1: take you. Quality taste variety once again, a little bit
- 20:45Speaker 1: more expensive. It's like Coyomi prices okay, but far out.
- 20:49Speaker 1: It's delicious. So chi can tariarchy there. The duck pancakes
- 20:52Speaker 1: even salad y. It is the nicest salad I've ever had.
- 20:55Speaker 1: It's just literally lettuce, cucumber, some other bits and pieces.
- 20:59Speaker 1: But the dressing, wow, next level. I'm getting hungry. Yeah,
- 21:04Speaker 1: I've got the Lex. I've got that too.
- 21:07Speaker 2: So the Lex is a steak place that we actually
- 21:10Speaker 2: found coming up here to the podcast, one of the
- 21:13Speaker 2: hotels that we stay at, and yeah, it's an incredible
- 21:16Speaker 2: We get the Tomahawk, yes, which.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Is that's what we go there for. We haven't tried
- 21:20Speaker 1: much else.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Yes, we only go for the tomk It's about you know,
- 21:23Speaker 2: point a one point two kilos of steak and it
- 21:26Speaker 2: is just incredible. Comes with sides like we're not really
- 21:29Speaker 2: there for the sides, the sauces and touch the lettus.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Last lef, what do you love is it? Oh? I
- 21:34Speaker 1: get it's like a vinigarette mustard. Yeah, beautiful.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Yeah, really recommend. My last one is grilled. I love
- 21:43Speaker 2: a good grilled burger and the little nuggies. Okay, if
- 21:45Speaker 2: you have been to Grilled and you haven't tried the
- 21:48Speaker 2: HFC bites, please.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Go and try them. They're good. It's insane, I think
- 21:52Speaker 1: a good snack. We always go there and get burgers there.
- 21:55Speaker 1: And I went to OMG the other day and had
- 21:57Speaker 1: it really yummy burger. Yeah you're telling me it was
- 22:00Speaker 1: so good. I wouldn't think it would be that good.
- 22:01Speaker 1: It looked like a fast food American kind of style,
- 22:04Speaker 1: but the burger delicious like I would one hundred scent
- 22:06Speaker 1: go back for a burger there interesting you have to
- 22:08Speaker 1: take me. And then the last one I've got is Chinchin,
- 22:11Speaker 1: which is in Melbourne and Sydney, and I've heard rumors
- 22:13Speaker 1: they're coming to Brisbane. However, the last time Steve and
- 22:15Speaker 1: I went, it didn't hit the spot. It felt like
- 22:19Speaker 1: the food had just been reheated. Even the papaya cellad
- 22:23Speaker 1: was soggy. It just wasn't that great. But every other
- 22:26Speaker 1: time I've been has been unbelievable, so I'm still putting
- 22:29Speaker 1: it on the list. I just hope that was a
- 22:30Speaker 1: bad day that we went. Yes, So that's our restaurants.
- 22:34Speaker 1: So now let's move on to movies. What's your first one?
- 22:38Speaker 1: The first one I've got is called Brian Banks. It's
- 22:41Speaker 1: a sporting movie. Sporting movies are probably up there in
- 22:43Speaker 1: my top genres. I love anything inspirational and just seeing
- 22:46Speaker 1: someone come from nothing, be so determined and override anyone
- 22:50Speaker 1: that's got natural talent and just go for it. And
- 22:53Speaker 1: this is a story like that. He actually gets accused
- 22:55Speaker 1: of something he didn't do and it completely ruins his career,
- 22:58Speaker 1: and then he fights to have his name released and
- 23:02Speaker 1: Cleared or c LID. I don't see Steve cry that often.
- 23:05Speaker 1: And we actually saw this movie when we were in
- 23:06Speaker 1: New York years ago and it's still we still talk
- 23:08Speaker 1: about it. Like Megasican thought, I was around there the
- 23:10Speaker 1: other day and this. Do you have any movie recommendation,
- 23:12Speaker 1: I said, Brian Banks. Yeah, it is so moving, it'll
- 23:15Speaker 1: make you cry. It's so inspirational. It's based off a
- 23:18Speaker 1: true story, which made it even more like hard to watch,
- 23:21Speaker 1: very moving. Love it in my top five for sure? Yeah, wow, Yeah,
- 23:25Speaker 1: I've got kyote Ugly on my lip. I just love it.
- 23:28Speaker 2: I was thinking about different movies that I loved, and
- 23:31Speaker 2: I just love movies from the nineties.
- 23:33Speaker 1: They're just so fun. So you know Crossroads with Britney Spears, Oh.
- 23:38Speaker 2: There's just so much fun. Like they just have really
- 23:40Speaker 2: good movies that are just unique. And that one I
- 23:42Speaker 2: find is just so fun, so playful. So I don't
- 23:46Speaker 2: know what it is about a.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Love story in it too fun? Yeah? Yeah, no, I
- 23:50Speaker 1: love that next one I've got, which isn't going to
- 23:53Speaker 1: be for everyone. But I don't know why me and
- 23:56Speaker 1: my mum and Chez we love kidnapping movies. I don't
- 23:59Speaker 1: know what it is. I don't know if it's so,
- 24:01Speaker 1: I'm super aware of what can happen in the world.
- 24:02Speaker 1: I'm gonna be prepared to protect me and my friends
- 24:04Speaker 1: or my kids. I just find it so fascinating the
- 24:07Speaker 1: mind of a criminal that does that stuff, like, yeah,
- 24:09Speaker 1: so fucked up. I'm like, what is wrong with you?
- 24:11Speaker 1: And just I don't know. I just find them really interesting.
- 24:13Speaker 1: I love crime in general, medical crime, yeah, investigation, edge
- 24:18Speaker 1: of my seat twisted, like what's gonna happen? So there's
- 24:21Speaker 1: two that are very similar. The first one is called
- 24:23Speaker 1: Girl in the Basement and in a nutshell. Her dad
- 24:27Speaker 1: takes her down to the basement and holds her hostage
- 24:29Speaker 1: for twenty years. Her dad, her dad rapes her, has
- 24:33Speaker 1: kids with her, and her mum's upstairs with her siblings.
- 24:35Speaker 1: They have no idea what she's gone. They think she's
- 24:36Speaker 1: run away as kids with her, has kids with her,
- 24:39Speaker 1: So that it's crazy to watch, very hard to watch.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Not based off a true story, I don't think. I
- 24:45Speaker 1: don't know. And the other one that's similar, it's called
- 24:47Speaker 1: Room and it's this woman who gets locked in a
- 24:50Speaker 1: room and I think she has a little boy. Maybe
- 24:53Speaker 1: he rapes her, and then she has a little boy,
- 24:56Speaker 1: and then they escape, and then it's the aftermath of that,
- 24:58Speaker 1: and it's just, oh, very hard movies to watch, but
- 25:02Speaker 1: edge of your seat and just like, holy shit, this
- 25:03Speaker 1: shit's happening in the world. It just makes me really
- 25:06Speaker 1: sad how much that it's happening in the world. Feels
- 25:08Speaker 1: so helpless, but it is, it's happening at our doorsteps.
- 25:11Speaker 1: So yeah, I watch. But there's well done movies.
- 25:14Speaker 2: There's something that I just thought of as you were talking.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Have you ever seen I Spit on your Grave? No,
- 25:18Speaker 2: I can't remember if it's a horror I think it's
- 25:20Speaker 2: a horror movie. Oh, but I'm pretty sure it's based
- 25:22Speaker 2: on true events.
- 25:23Speaker 1: I'm not sure. Anyway, it scarred me as a child. Yeah,
- 25:26Speaker 1: I wouldn't recommend it's anyway. I'm just gonna leave that there. Okay,
- 25:29Speaker 1: we'll talk about it, like, got your recommendation, talk about
- 25:31Speaker 1: it later. No, No, it's not my recommendation.
- 25:33Speaker 2: But because you like stuff like that, to be aware
- 25:35Speaker 2: of all that, Yeah, that's the way that criminals' minds work.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I find it really interesting.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Yeah, anyway, Okay, So my next one is Serendipity.
- 25:43Speaker 1: So this movie is an older movie. I can't even
- 25:46Speaker 1: remember when it was produced, but basically it's about this
- 25:50Speaker 1: couple who live in New York City and this man
- 25:52Speaker 1: asks this woman out on a date. I'm not going
- 25:54Speaker 1: to tell the whole storyline because it'll give it away,
- 25:55Speaker 1: but basically, there's a series of events that unfold and
- 25:58Speaker 1: she goes, if this happens, then you can call me. Oh,
- 26:01Speaker 1: I think I've seen this. It's an incredible I literally
- 26:03Speaker 1: got the word serendipity tattooed on the inside of my
- 26:06Speaker 1: bicep because of that movie, because it just left a
- 26:08Speaker 1: mark on me. And I think I love the concept
- 26:11Speaker 1: of like the storyline and how they just like were
- 26:13Speaker 1: fated to like come together, and how even though all
- 26:17Speaker 1: of the odds were like against them, they came together.
- 26:20Speaker 1: That's cool and I just lined with the concept of
- 26:22Speaker 1: that is beautiful. It's beautiful. I think everyone loves this movie.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Take Him with Lee Neeson. It is a good movie. Classic.
- 26:29Speaker 1: You can't not like that movie. He is an absolute
- 26:31Speaker 1: hero for his daughter. Yeah, and once again, awareness of
- 26:34Speaker 1: when you go to Europe, Like I remember I was
- 26:36Speaker 1: telling you my one of my best friends Beth went
- 26:38Speaker 1: to Europe CouchSurfing. I was like, oh my god, you
- 26:41Speaker 1: were not going couch surfing. She's like, yeah, I am,
- 26:44Speaker 1: But just it really made me. Even when I took
- 26:46Speaker 1: Tags to Europe, I was just so hyper aware to
- 26:48Speaker 1: protect him and not get ourselves in any situations that
- 26:50Speaker 1: could be dangerous. But it's so common over there. It's
- 26:54Speaker 1: a big reason why I didn't take Taler at such
- 26:56Speaker 1: a young age as well. It was too young. I've
- 26:58Speaker 1: been too deep in the rabbit hole of child slavery,
- 27:01Speaker 1: sex slavery and Europe is just obviously happens everywhere, but
- 27:04Speaker 1: Europe is oh fucked up. That movie was insane and
- 27:09Speaker 1: they needed to have taken two, which was nearly as good,
- 27:11Speaker 1: but both of them. I can't remember number two, but
- 27:14Speaker 1: my mum made me.
- 27:15Speaker 2: I remember, you made me Haken before I went overseas
- 27:20Speaker 2: for three months, like you need to know what happens.
- 27:22Speaker 2: And then I remember being overseas and being like looking
- 27:24Speaker 2: behind my shoulder and being like thanks for the anxiety.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Mum, and not going in a taxi without a registered
- 27:28Speaker 1: taxi thing. You know, there's so many things, and like looking,
- 27:30Speaker 1: who's following? Is anyone following you. Are you staying at
- 27:32Speaker 1: a hotel that's safe?
- 27:33Speaker 2: Just being mindful, Like when you're in Italy and there's
- 27:35Speaker 2: like young men who you're like, oh, like you know,
- 27:37Speaker 2: asking you on a date or telling you to come
- 27:39Speaker 2: back to.
- 27:39Speaker 1: A party, It's like that's not safe. No, any great
- 27:42Speaker 1: movie for awareness. I think everyone should watch it. Yeah, agreed.
- 27:46Speaker 1: I love Pretty Woman. Oh yeah, so it is a
- 27:50Speaker 1: fun movie. Might all dark and gloomy and scary and
- 27:52Speaker 1: you're so alway like light and lovey. Can you tell
- 27:56Speaker 1: our genres? There's two that are come ino that a're coming.
- 27:58Speaker 1: So Pretty Woman is just I don't know why. I
- 28:01Speaker 1: just love the concept of how this actress in the
- 28:04Speaker 1: movie turns her life around. Yeah, Like it's just a
- 28:07Speaker 1: love story, which I'm a sucker for. And then also
- 28:10Speaker 1: she just turns her life around. Also in the movie,
- 28:13Speaker 1: she's a character who's a prostitute, right, Yeah, but she
- 28:16Speaker 1: has the conflicting thing is she's got a lot of
- 28:17Speaker 1: self worth. Yeah, it's a really interesting thing.
- 28:20Speaker 2: And I just find it so interesting that she does
- 28:22Speaker 2: that for a job, but then when it comes to relationships,
- 28:25Speaker 2: she stands on her fucking business. When it comes to boundaries,
- 28:28Speaker 2: and I just thought it was epic so cool.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Yeah, love it. And then I've got two more Bridesmaids Classic.
- 28:35Speaker 1: Oh love it, love it, love it. I've watched that
- 28:37Speaker 1: movie over and over again, and I could watch it
- 28:40Speaker 1: another twenty times and still laugh. We do tiktokxic. Yes them,
- 28:43Speaker 1: it's just so funny. Are you ready to part? Oh
- 28:49Speaker 1: my god, we say that all the kind woman on
- 28:51Speaker 1: the wing like, it's just hilarious, so good, all the
- 28:54Speaker 1: actors is in there are just ten out of ten,
- 28:57Speaker 1: so funny. And then another classic Notebook. I just can't
- 28:59Speaker 1: go wrong with a notebook. I cry my eyes out.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Oh it's just so bad, it's so sad. I've heard
- 29:05Speaker 1: number two coming out stop it. Yeah, same actors, the
- 29:08Speaker 1: same actors, Rachel mccadams. Yeah, I found these number two
- 29:11Speaker 1: coming out. Wow, oh my god, I love Where do
- 29:13Speaker 1: they go for the end of that? Yeah, totally, but
- 29:16Speaker 1: it's cool, Oh my god. Fun.
- 29:17Speaker 2: So my next one will be Focus. So it's with
- 29:20Speaker 2: Margaret Robbie and Will Smith. I love things that make
- 29:24Speaker 2: you think, So anything that is like you have to
- 29:26Speaker 2: kind of depict what's going to happen. There's like multiple
- 29:29Speaker 2: stories within one big story that you kind of have
- 29:31Speaker 2: to decode for some reason. The mental stimulation of that
- 29:35Speaker 2: for me is like everything. And also there's love story.
- 29:37Speaker 1: In it, yeah for it.
- 29:38Speaker 2: Then my last one is in Time. So this one
- 29:41Speaker 2: has justin Timberlake in it, and it's when their currency
- 29:45Speaker 2: is not money but it's time and so if they
- 29:47Speaker 2: run out of time, they actually die and it's just
- 29:50Speaker 2: this huge Yeah, it's just a really cool storyline. I
- 29:54Speaker 2: found it really interesting and to think about life and
- 29:57Speaker 2: money and time and how we run out of time
- 30:00Speaker 2: and it's a really cool concept. Really, it really makes
- 30:03Speaker 2: you think about life.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I loved it. I did like that movie Okay.
- 30:07Speaker 1: And then last, but not least TV shows. This is
- 30:10Speaker 1: hard to pick, oh TV series addict and there's so
- 30:13Speaker 1: many good on Yeah. So my first one that's more
- 30:16Speaker 1: recent is Rookie. I absolutely loved it. Oh my gosh.
- 30:20Speaker 1: It took a couple of episodes to get into it,
- 30:22Speaker 1: but quite a few people around me were watching it
- 30:24Speaker 1: and bragging about it. After the first couple I was like,
- 30:26Speaker 1: I'm just not understanding what's so good about this. But
- 30:29Speaker 1: it's crime, it's police officers love stories. It's funny. Yeah,
- 30:33Speaker 1: they bring comedy into it into serious situations. It's serious
- 30:36Speaker 1: as well. Every episode is action packed. It's so easy
- 30:41Speaker 1: to watch, and the characters are so lovable. You like
- 30:44Speaker 1: all of the characters, especially the main rookie. He's an
- 30:46Speaker 1: older guy and all the police officers that are coming
- 30:48Speaker 1: into the academy of young so he's like the older
- 30:50Speaker 1: guy yea, and they kind of doubt him and think
- 30:52Speaker 1: he's too old for the job, and then he turns
- 30:54Speaker 1: out to be freaking amazing and it's just so likable. Yeah,
- 30:56Speaker 1: you've recommended this to me a couple of times. I
- 30:58Speaker 1: love it. I get so sucked into TV shows, honestly,
- 31:01Speaker 1: that's what they do, and for me, it's just nice
- 31:03Speaker 1: to come out every now and again, Like I admit,
- 31:05Speaker 1: I numb out with TV series just to like and
- 31:07Speaker 1: switch off from work and stress and mum life. Just
- 31:10Speaker 1: sit down and watch TV series. I love it and
- 31:12Speaker 1: get sucked into like a different storyline other than your own. Yeah,
- 31:15Speaker 1: I love that. My first one is The Vampire Diaries.
- 31:18Speaker 1: I've never done it. Oh my god, I've watched it
- 31:20Speaker 1: twice through and it's eight seasons. Oh my gosh. Yeah,
- 31:23Speaker 1: a lot of time, Yeah, a lot of time. I
- 31:25Speaker 1: don't know what it is.
- 31:26Speaker 2: I've watched it first when I was probably like thirteen,
- 31:28Speaker 2: became obsessed with the storyline for some reason.
- 31:31Speaker 1: I love everything with vampires, and I'm the opposite. I
- 31:33Speaker 1: hate vampire style. Oh like it's so unrealistic, I know,
- 31:36Speaker 1: but I just love them. I love them magical.
- 31:38Speaker 2: I love Harry Potter too, do you know what I mean?
- 31:39Speaker 2: Like things that are like mystical and magical and like
- 31:41Speaker 2: things that you can't make sense of.
- 31:43Speaker 1: I just love Yeah.
- 31:44Speaker 2: So I would recommend that the storyline is so interesting
- 31:47Speaker 2: and there's it's a little bit scary, but like a
- 31:49Speaker 2: little bit keeps you on your edge.
- 31:51Speaker 1: It's the thriller I feel. That's mine. My next two
- 31:55Speaker 1: are intertwine with each other. But Chicago Fire and Chicago
- 31:58Speaker 1: p D. There is also Chicago Mid Oh shit, and
- 32:01Speaker 1: they always twine with each other. Okay, but once again,
- 32:03Speaker 1: the characters are very likable. Ch Cargo Fire has very
- 32:06Speaker 1: likablemen on there. She's like, do you like the show
- 32:10Speaker 1: with the men? I'm like both. There's like one bad
- 32:12Speaker 1: boy and then one just like nice country boy. Yeah.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Once again, every episode is different, there's a different fire
- 32:16Speaker 1: they're attending there's a different story behind it, and then
- 32:18Speaker 1: there's lots of relationship dynamics within the show. I love
- 32:21Speaker 1: anything with relationships. And then Chicago PD is more the
- 32:25Speaker 1: crime stuff. So every now and again on the PD
- 32:28Speaker 1: one you'll see the fire is come in and vice versa.
- 32:30Speaker 1: There'll be a fire and the pds will come in.
- 32:32Speaker 1: So they're all interconnected. But I just love how every
- 32:35Speaker 1: episode there's a new situation. Oh, I didn't put it
- 32:37Speaker 1: on here, but SUV. Oh my god, I used to
- 32:40Speaker 1: watch that all SVU special Victims Unit Special. Yeah, yeah,
- 32:44Speaker 1: SVS for you. Yeah, they've done like twenty seasons and
- 32:46Speaker 1: Steve and I are after all of them. Yeah, that's
- 32:49Speaker 1: probably my top estuary. Goody Oh. Every episode is different
- 32:52Speaker 1: and once again the awareness of what can happen in
- 32:54Speaker 1: different situations. I really like understanding so great.
- 32:58Speaker 2: I do like those because they're not like too crazy gruesome,
- 33:01Speaker 2: Like no, they don't show a lot, but they talk
- 33:03Speaker 2: about worries.
- 33:04Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I find I have a weak stomach and
- 33:06Speaker 1: stuff like that. Do you. Yeah. So my next one
- 33:10Speaker 1: is money Heist. I don't know if you've watched it. Oh,
- 33:12Speaker 1: was it? Uh European one with it? Yes? We loved
- 33:15Speaker 1: that way so good. That was like one of my
- 33:18Speaker 1: top two or three. I remember watching it. I had
- 33:21Speaker 1: gone in the end a little bit, a little bit,
- 33:23Speaker 1: but this is good, this storyline, characters.
- 33:26Speaker 2: Oh the way that the guy I can't remember his
- 33:28Speaker 2: name now, but the man who conducts a little bit,
- 33:31Speaker 2: he's like the puppeteer. Yeah, he's so intelligent for some reason,
- 33:36Speaker 2: trying to figure out how they made it happen, how
- 33:39Speaker 2: it worked, how they got around everyone else, and like
- 33:41Speaker 2: how smart and intelligently it's created.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, it's just like it was mine. I really
- 33:48Speaker 1: like a series, yeah so good. A really easy one
- 33:52Speaker 1: to watch is on stand. It's called All American and
- 33:54Speaker 1: it's a football based one. But characters is just very
- 33:57Speaker 1: good looking. They're very funny, they're young. It's like a
- 33:59Speaker 1: typical in college going through school. The famous footy players
- 34:05Speaker 1: and just all the different challenges that go through. And
- 34:07Speaker 1: one of the kids came from nothing and then gets
- 34:08Speaker 1: kind of brought into the richer family when his family
- 34:11Speaker 1: couldn't be there for him. And yeah, there's marriages and
- 34:14Speaker 1: breakups and school challenges and bullies and all the things.
- 34:18Speaker 1: It's just easy to watch, relatable, kind of too. It
- 34:21Speaker 1: kind of is, but yeah, just easy to watch on stand.
- 34:23Speaker 1: I really like that one.
- 34:25Speaker 2: I haven't seen that one was American love that. My
- 34:27Speaker 2: next one is Sons of Anarchy.
- 34:29Speaker 1: Oh, Steve's loved that. I'll watch it. It's so good.
- 34:32Speaker 1: But also because I was obsessed with the main character, yes,
- 34:35Speaker 1: a little bit different.
- 34:36Speaker 2: What's his name? His name is Jax in the movie.
- 34:38Speaker 2: I think it's Charlie Haunnam Hannam. Anyway, it was.
- 34:41Speaker 1: Obsessed with mediacter. No, this one's Bikey's. Oh yeah, yes, honestly. Yeah,
- 34:48Speaker 1: you know.
- 34:48Speaker 2: The funny thing is like if he wasn't so attractive,
- 34:50Speaker 2: it would be weird to watch. Yeah, that sounds bad,
- 34:54Speaker 2: but like when you think of that story happening in
- 34:56Speaker 2: real life, you're like, there's no way that I would
- 34:58Speaker 2: find this engaging. But like the storyline of it is
- 35:01Speaker 2: so good, and like I love that the main character one,
- 35:04Speaker 2: he's super easy to look at, really beautiful blue eyes.
- 35:06Speaker 2: But the concept of family within it and the dynamic
- 35:09Speaker 2: and the loyalty and like different aspects of it, and
- 35:12Speaker 2: there's also something always happening. I just find it so
- 35:15Speaker 2: intriguing the way that they justify what it is that
- 35:18Speaker 2: they choose to do and the bad stuff that they
- 35:20Speaker 2: do because it comes from like a good place and
- 35:22Speaker 2: they justify.
- 35:23Speaker 1: It and eat. Oh I don't know. Yeah, it's super messy,
- 35:25Speaker 1: but it's super entertaining to watch. Love. I have one more,
- 35:29Speaker 1: but now there's just so many I want to recommend.
- 35:30Speaker 1: But like Gray's Anatomy, the OC, Gossip Girls. See Gossip Girls.
- 35:35Speaker 1: No great. So there's my last three that's probably turned
- 35:38Speaker 1: out of recommended. I love that. My last one is
- 35:41Speaker 1: Friends Always. I've never seen Friends.
- 35:44Speaker 2: If you want to easy, watch babe and you want
- 35:46Speaker 2: to laugh, do it just to feel good show and
- 35:50Speaker 2: because you love friendships. I feel like you love the
- 35:53Speaker 2: dynamic that I have there. And then my last one
- 35:56Speaker 2: is Peaky Blinders.
- 35:57Speaker 1: Oh, Steve love that as well. Yeah, I really liked it.
- 35:59Speaker 1: It was really engaging. I love the guy Tommy, he's
- 36:01Speaker 1: like the main guy. Yeah, really good. Animal Kingdom is
- 36:05Speaker 1: actually another really good one. That's a really good one too. Yeah,
- 36:08Speaker 1: that one, she's like the Californication. Have you seen that?
- 36:11Speaker 1: No go, I'm gonna di stush. Now that's so many recommendations.
- 36:14Speaker 1: I love it. I'm going to save it for another episode. Yes,
- 36:17Speaker 1: talk about this stuff all day long. Thank you so
- 36:20Speaker 1: much for joining us. We hope you enjoyed that. We
- 36:21Speaker 1: hope you've jotted some down and you have some books
- 36:23Speaker 1: to read, some heavy shows to listen to, some beauty
- 36:25Speaker 1: products to get yourself and treat yourself with restaurants to
- 36:28Speaker 1: try all the thing. Yeah, thanks for joining us. When
- 36:31Speaker 1: we'll see you in the next episode. Bye bye,
