- 1:35Speaker 3: doubling up on assets inside my ETFs?
- 1:38Speaker 2: Like do I have too many?
- 1:40Speaker 3: And DM that you slid into our inboxes about what
- 1:42Speaker 3: do you do when a competitor head hunts you? But
- 1:46Speaker 3: before we do, as always, I like to set the
- 1:49Speaker 3: tone of the episode with a five star review. Would
- 1:53Speaker 3: you like to hear? Yes? Pleasetely? Okay. I got this
- 1:56Speaker 3: one as a dam and I thought that this was
- 1:58Speaker 3: worthy of putting in the five star review section. So
- 2:01Speaker 3: just to be very clear, someone DMed me this. Hey
- 2:04Speaker 3: v I wanted to give you a five star review.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Thank you, queen.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Thank get it on Spotify.
- 2:09Speaker 3: I have never been a finance podcast person, but this
- 2:12Speaker 3: one has completely converted me. It's somehow managers to make
- 2:15Speaker 3: money feel less overwhelming and actually enjoyable. I've laughed, I've learned,
- 2:19Speaker 3: and I've also had several oh my god, I think
- 2:22Speaker 3: I needed to hear that moment while walking my dog.
- 2:24Speaker 3: It's like getting advice from really smart friends who don't
- 2:27Speaker 3: make you feel silly for not knowing things. You guys
- 2:30Speaker 3: are genuinely one of the only podcasts I recommend to
- 2:33Speaker 3: everyone in my life.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Oh that's so nice, that's so lovely.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Thank you thanks for taking us on your dog walks.
- 2:40Speaker 2: I know that's gorgeous.
- 2:42Speaker 3: I did reply to her and I was like, hey, queen,
- 2:44Speaker 3: thank you so much. You haven't paid your pet tax? Yes,
- 2:47Speaker 3: you said that you walked to your dogs. Could you
- 2:50Speaker 3: send pics so I'll show you guys those later than.
- 2:53Speaker 2: You're really getting our steps in.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Yeah, but I'm also like, sorry, do you not understand
- 2:57Speaker 3: the rules of this community. If you want to talk
- 3:00Speaker 3: talk about your dog in front of us, you have
- 3:01Speaker 3: to show us.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Yeah, it's only fair, that's the rules.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:04Speaker 2: That's really sweet though, Thank you so much.
- 3:06Speaker 3: That's so kind.
- 3:07Speaker 2: All right.
- 3:08Speaker 3: We also have a question of the week, so it's
- 3:10Speaker 3: time for the part of Friday Drinks where you get
- 3:12Speaker 3: to ask us one of the questions you are dying
- 3:14Speaker 3: to know. The answer to this one comes from Gemma,
- 3:17Speaker 3: and I feel like it's a pretty good one. The
- 3:20Speaker 3: question is, my friends, what is the most financially irresponsible
- 3:25Speaker 3: thing that you would do if it couldn't ruin your
- 3:28Speaker 3: financial life.
- 3:29Speaker 2: That's such a good question.
- 3:31Speaker 3: I feel like Jess has probably got a good response
- 3:32Speaker 3: for this because she's like the most financially responsible person,
- 3:35Speaker 3: so she'd never do it. Yeah, but I'm kind of
- 3:38Speaker 3: scared of what Beck.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Would do a good rule, I know, I'm like, what
- 3:41Speaker 2: do I start?
- 3:42Speaker 3: It's like I already did it. It was fine, guys.
- 3:47Speaker 2: The story, I would buy a house in Disney Springs.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Jeez, can you come?
- 3:53Speaker 2: Absolutely? Disney Springs is in Disney. I think it's Disneyland
- 3:57Speaker 2: in Orlando. There's like a community, like gated community, like
- 4:01Speaker 2: a residential area, like a suburb called Disney Springs. All
- 4:05Speaker 2: the houses are built to look like they're a part
- 4:09Speaker 2: of Disneyland in some way, Like they're often themes story.
- 4:13Speaker 3: They're so tacky and I love it no, but like
- 4:16Speaker 3: they're like just imagine like American McMansions. Yeah, but Disney five.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Yeah, that's very It has your own direct bus line
- 4:26Speaker 2: to get straight to Disneyland. And so I wouldn't live
- 4:28Speaker 2: there all the time, but it would be a holiday
- 4:30Speaker 2: house obviously, because I'm super rich and it's not going
- 4:32Speaker 2: to ruin me financially.
- 4:33Speaker 4: Oh my god.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Then I could just live off Disneyland and then you're
- 4:36Speaker 2: just decorated.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Yeah, it's so fun, so fun, like think like Disney
- 4:41Speaker 3: Castle vibes. Yeah, turrets. People have turrets and they have
- 4:45Speaker 3: like theme for those of you who haven't seen them.
- 4:47Speaker 3: They have like themed houses, so it's not like just
- 4:50Speaker 3: Disney themed.
- 4:51Speaker 2: It might be the Little.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Mermaid themed house and you have like a water park
- 4:55Speaker 3: in your front garden.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Yeah that is so fun.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Sorry silly and irresponsible, but like if it's not going
- 5:02Speaker 2: to ruin me, why not and everyone can come stay
- 5:05Speaker 2: at Disneyland with me? Ruin us?
- 5:08Speaker 3: Actually I fearrol it it would we went to Disneyland.
- 5:13Speaker 3: This is probably like where we would buy it in Florida.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Right, I think it's only at the Florida is it?
- 5:18Speaker 2: I think so.
- 5:19Speaker 3: I wouldn't know. I'm not Disney enough, but like apparently
- 5:22Speaker 3: we're buying in Florida. We spent so much money on
- 5:25Speaker 3: food there, Beck it was ignomical. Well, Jess and I
- 5:29Speaker 3: went together and I was like, well, jessic Ki when
- 5:33Speaker 3: in Rome, like we can't not like, how many opportunities
- 5:37Speaker 3: are we going to have to have the Disney candy apple?
- 5:40Speaker 3: How many opportunities are we going to have to try
- 5:43Speaker 3: the Mickey ears, Like, what was it rice crispy treat?
- 5:47Speaker 2: We were buying it?
- 5:49Speaker 3: Yeah, life, we didn't eat a meal at Disney. Oh
- 5:53Speaker 3: we did that night. I don't even know how we
- 5:56Speaker 3: fit that in. But like during the day, Jess, we
- 5:58Speaker 3: didn't stop for breakfast, we didn't stop for lun We
- 6:00Speaker 3: just snapped the whole day on sweet treats.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Yeah, oh you've got to that is on my bucket list.
- 6:06Speaker 2: We try dole whip.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Oh, I love to the dolip.
- 6:08Speaker 2: It's like pineapple flavored soft Yeah. Is it like a
- 6:13Speaker 2: marshmallow whip sort of situations.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Actually, it's like ice cream that is made of pineapples.
- 6:18Speaker 5: Now see solat in dessert. But that's a question for
- 6:24Speaker 5: next week.
- 6:25Speaker 3: I never wanted a dizzy.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Legs, Like, what's the hell you will die?
- 6:29Speaker 3: That should never go together. Yeah, if you ask me,
- 6:32Speaker 3: it's chocolate and dried fruit.
- 6:35Speaker 2: I don't mind.
- 6:36Speaker 3: That has grown on me.
- 6:37Speaker 2: That's grown on me to say, wait, so you'll.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Have chocolate and dried fruit, but you won't have fruit
- 6:42Speaker 3: flavored ice cream?
- 6:43Speaker 2: No, because I think enigma wrapped in.
- 6:48Speaker 5: I'm like, if if you must, then a dried fruit
- 6:50Speaker 5: otherwise like leason to be their own thing.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Okay, that's great.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Sweet treat should not also be healthy.
- 6:56Speaker 2: You're not ruining yourself financially with chocolate covered almonds.
- 6:58Speaker 3: What are you ruin yourself financially over? It's not actually
- 7:02Speaker 3: going to ruin your life.
- 7:03Speaker 5: I'm like, where do I start? There are so many
- 7:05Speaker 5: things I want to do, and it is so like
- 7:07Speaker 5: it really is hard. Every day I'm exercising this like
- 7:11Speaker 5: self control thing all the time. But I would definitely
- 7:14Speaker 5: be like, I would never ever ever prepare anything at
- 7:17Speaker 5: home ever again. Every single thing would be ordered delivered
- 7:20Speaker 5: straight to my media butler.
- 7:22Speaker 2: I would have a butler. Absolutely they would cook me.
- 7:25Speaker 3: They would because you're not ordering it yourself, right, If
- 7:28Speaker 3: you just turn up, it would just turn up.
- 7:29Speaker 5: I would think about it, it would turn up. I
- 7:31Speaker 5: like to play it, play games on my phone, and
- 7:33Speaker 5: then I would be one of those people that buy
- 7:35Speaker 5: the things to get far further. I always want to,
- 7:37Speaker 5: And I'm like, that's insane.
- 7:39Speaker 2: I'm amazed you've never done it. It's I have, okay,
- 7:43Speaker 2: but it's not a common occurrence, but it would be
- 7:46Speaker 2: if it wouldn't financially ruin me understood it. So I
- 7:49Speaker 2: am embarrassed and.
- 7:50Speaker 3: U VD, I am hiring a private jet to go
- 7:53Speaker 3: on all of my holidays in the future, Like gone,
- 7:55Speaker 3: are they're me hacking business class flights with my points
- 7:59Speaker 3: stays like that's going to look like poverty compared to
- 8:03Speaker 3: my private jet. And I'm taking my dog on every
- 8:06Speaker 3: holiday that I go on moving forward, Okay, that's why
- 8:10Speaker 3: I've got the private jet. Like nobody needs a private jet,
- 8:13Speaker 3: but I could take my dog and my cats to Bali.
- 8:17Speaker 3: I don't know if I want to do that, but
- 8:18Speaker 3: like I want to have the option absolutely because she's
- 8:22Speaker 3: on the money jet.
- 8:23Speaker 2: I imagine think flying through this guy.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Yeah, it's very financially responsible.
- 8:28Speaker 2: And environmentally and great for the environment. It's very cold,
- 8:31Speaker 2: the swift, that's true. Did you see a Sharon the other.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Day caught a train from Sydney to Melbourne because it
- 8:39Speaker 3: was the most like the economically Yeah, I was like
- 8:43Speaker 3: off king I thin because he said his wife works
- 8:45Speaker 3: in sustainability.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Yeah, and we love that, Like that's like supporting your partner.
- 8:50Speaker 2: I'm doing the most.
- 8:52Speaker 3: That's not even like a little like oh I just
- 8:54Speaker 3: caught the train instead of driving and they save ten minutes.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Like you can catch a plane from Melbourne to Sydney
- 9:00Speaker 3: and it takes like an hour, fantastic, But if you
- 9:03Speaker 3: catch the train from Sydney to Melbourne, it's like eight
- 9:07Speaker 3: hours and an overnight trip. Like it's not like a
- 9:10Speaker 3: quick little jet train that you might find in Japan,
- 9:13Speaker 3: Like it was just a train. Like there's nothing good
- 9:16Speaker 3: about it and it's not that comfortable either. Yes, that's true,
- 9:21Speaker 3: but that's very economical of him. Yes, who cares about
- 9:23Speaker 3: the environments where we care about him? That's true. I
- 9:26Speaker 3: really aren't problematic. Yeah, I love him. All right, Well,
- 9:30Speaker 3: let's move further into the show. I feel like we
- 9:32Speaker 3: answered our question of what was the most financially unhinged
- 9:35Speaker 3: thing you would do. Let's move into something more financially responsible,
- 9:39Speaker 3: and that would be our community money wins. Mter Gricci.
- 9:42Speaker 2: What have you got for us this week? Alrighty this week? Firstly,
- 9:44Speaker 2: I've got one from Amy who said money win, I
- 9:46Speaker 2: put some extra cash into my savings because I had.
- 9:49Speaker 3: It responsible we ween, speaking of which, Next.
- 9:52Speaker 2: I've got a money in from Tara who said I
- 9:54Speaker 2: had an interesting money win. Recently, I have started seeing
- 9:57Speaker 2: somebody new and before we had even decided whether we
- 10:00Speaker 2: want to actually officially be together, we have discussed how
- 10:03Speaker 2: we would manage money, green flags all around. Drop it love. Next,
- 10:08Speaker 2: I've got money win from Kidder, who said money win.
- 10:10Speaker 2: I did a seven elevens price lock in and got
- 10:12Speaker 2: fuel locked in. It's gone up twenty cents since I
- 10:15Speaker 2: did it, which is a huge money win when you
- 10:17Speaker 2: go thousands of kilometers each week for work. Amazing that
- 10:21Speaker 2: levens for commodes must be a driver. I'm guessing yeah. Next,
- 10:24Speaker 2: I've got a money win from Lara, who said she
- 10:26Speaker 2: had fifteen thousand Medibank points, which she then converted into
- 10:29Speaker 2: one hundred and fifty dollars iconic boucher, which she used
- 10:32Speaker 2: to buy a new T shirt, a pair of shoes,
- 10:34Speaker 2: and a purse that she's been eyeing off. Wow, gorgeous.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Then I've got one from Tanya, who said she started
- 10:39Speaker 2: paying herself super I'm a soul trader and I haven't
- 10:41Speaker 2: done it in years.
- 10:43Speaker 4: Oh.
- 10:43Speaker 2: I love that one, the most really good one.
- 10:46Speaker 3: It's putting future you first job, Tanya.
- 10:48Speaker 2: And then lastly this week, I've got a money win
- 10:51Speaker 2: from Shannon, who said I hope Victoria.
- 10:52Speaker 3: Will appreciate this one, probably will.
- 10:54Speaker 2: I purchased an il tutor nursing chair. Baby Bunding had
- 10:57Speaker 2: a sale for one hundred and fifty dollars off. I
- 10:59Speaker 2: used two hundred dollars in vouch just from Flybys and
- 11:02Speaker 2: two hundred and fifty dollars I had from shot Back,
- 11:04Speaker 2: which meant I only had to pay three hundred dollars
- 11:06Speaker 2: out of pocket. I love that, which is just incredible,
- 11:10Speaker 2: so much, so much shacked on, stacked on stack, Yeah,
- 11:14Speaker 2: I do love that.
- 11:15Speaker 3: How good? All right? Miss Beck say ed, what are
- 11:18Speaker 3: your break tips of the week?
- 11:20Speaker 5: So I have two from the community as per and
- 11:23Speaker 5: one for myself. This first one comes from Daneka, who
- 11:26Speaker 5: sent me the suggestion. It's an Instagram video, but it's
- 11:29Speaker 5: also an app. The Instagram video is really irrelevant. It
- 11:32Speaker 5: was just showing me the app, so maybe I don't
- 11:34Speaker 5: need to mention that. But it's called Dollar Flights Club,
- 11:37Speaker 5: so you sign up apparently it's one dollar right now
- 11:39Speaker 5: to sign up, and then you get cheap flights. So
- 11:41Speaker 5: I don't know how it works or how they make
- 11:43Speaker 5: their money, but Dollar Flights Club app or website is
- 11:47Speaker 5: where you might find really cheap flights. So if you
- 11:50Speaker 5: have the capacity to sign up. I think it sounds
- 11:53Speaker 5: like a dearly one dollar right now, but maybe look
- 11:56Speaker 5: into that. Maybe don't sign up for so much if
- 11:58Speaker 5: you're not going to use it. But if it is
- 12:00Speaker 5: really only one dollar, then go for it. And then
- 12:02Speaker 5: you get yeah, really cheap lights sometimes even from what
- 12:05Speaker 5: I saw, up to fifty percent off Crazy Love. The
- 12:09Speaker 5: sext one comes from Mariam showed me this video of
- 12:11Speaker 5: basically picture of lettuce. You cut the bottom of the
- 12:13Speaker 5: lettuce off, You get paper towel, You put alcohol on
- 12:16Speaker 5: the paper towel.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Where is this going?
- 12:18Speaker 5: You put it on the bottom of the lettuce. You
- 12:20Speaker 5: put that lettuce in a plastic bag, and then you
- 12:24Speaker 5: seal it with like the top of a water bottle,
- 12:27Speaker 5: and you close the cap. If that makes sense, And
- 12:30Speaker 5: that will make your lettuce or your vegetable last at
- 12:33Speaker 5: least sixty days.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Sixty Apparently, I.
- 12:37Speaker 3: Thought you were going to say, and that will make
- 12:39Speaker 3: you a clickbait video that has no real subsetce I see,
- 12:44Speaker 3: I see, yeah, I know.
- 12:45Speaker 5: I thought, well it took all together, But then I
- 12:48Speaker 5: was like, this is kind of genius and very specific.
- 12:51Speaker 3: It's very specific. Can we try it to test this out.
- 12:55Speaker 5: I can give you the link to the video if
- 12:57Speaker 5: you would like it somewhere. But you don't have to
- 12:59Speaker 5: use alcohol. If you have only cold water on you whatever,
- 13:01Speaker 5: that's so fine, But alcohol I think is best. I
- 13:03Speaker 5: think maybe that's the main.
- 13:05Speaker 3: My lettuce is getting drunk in the fridge.
- 13:09Speaker 2: It's absorbing the podcast.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's the easiest when you get cross to
- 13:13Speaker 3: feed it to my toddlune. It's a good idea.
- 13:16Speaker 2: And then this one is for myself. This is for
- 13:18Speaker 2: if you live in Melbourne. I'm sure there are other
- 13:20Speaker 2: alternatives around Australia, but Frenchy is a restaurant that opened
- 13:26Speaker 2: up recently. Everything is oh I've seen this on teen dollars.
- 13:29Speaker 5: Yes, and it's like steak entracot, comfy duck leg, like
- 13:35Speaker 5: actual good food that you and I.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Would caviar bumps. Oh that's not for me, but that's fair.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Exactly for me. But it's only going to be fourteen dollars.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Fourteen dollars, I know, isn't incredible? So I have been cheap?
- 13:48Speaker 3: Is it always that cheaply.
- 13:50Speaker 2: An opening thing?
- 13:52Speaker 5: I think it's always fourteen so interesting? Wow, yeah, I
- 13:55Speaker 5: need to check it out. I do love French food?
- 13:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I love it. I love that good weep around
- 14:00Speaker 3: this week, guys, thank you. All right, let's go to
- 14:03Speaker 3: a really quick break on the flip side, we're going
- 14:05Speaker 3: to be discussing the money dilemma, which is are you
- 14:08Speaker 3: doubling up on your ETFs? And we're also going to
- 14:11Speaker 3: be here having a chat about what do you do
- 14:13Speaker 3: when your competitor at your job comes to try and
- 14:16Speaker 3: headhunt you? Do we need to take into consideration ethics,
- 14:20Speaker 3: I don't know, don't go anywhere, guys.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Welcome back everybody. Let's take a listen to this week's
- 14:29Speaker 2: money dilemma.
- 14:33Speaker 6: Hi.
- 14:33Speaker 3: There, have you got a money dilemma you just can't solve?
- 14:36Speaker 3: The Sheese on the Money team is here to help.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Every week we tackle your dilemmas, both big and small,
- 14:42Speaker 3: to answer your most burning money, career and life questions.
- 14:45Speaker 3: To get involved, simply head to our website and leave
- 14:47Speaker 3: us a short voice recording and you might just find
- 14:50Speaker 3: yourself on the show.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Now, let's take a listen to this week's money dilemma.
- 14:56Speaker 4: Hi, Victoria and team. I'm currently investing on the Souper
- 15:00Speaker 4: Hero app and I've chosen a selection of Australian ETFs
- 15:03Speaker 4: and have been adding money to them gradually. I was
- 15:07Speaker 4: just clicking through and checking on their progress and I
- 15:09Speaker 4: noticed that I'm invested in IHVV SMP five hundred hedge
- 15:14Speaker 4: funds ETF and also IVV SMP five hundred ETF. It
- 15:20Speaker 4: seems that I'm doubled up here. What is the difference
- 15:23Speaker 4: between these two ETFs? And since I've already bought into
- 15:26Speaker 4: them both, is there any benefit to selling one and
- 15:29Speaker 4: chipping the money into the other? Thank you?
- 15:32Speaker 3: Ooh what would you do back?
- 15:36Speaker 2: Well, I'm probably not the best person.
- 15:37Speaker 3: Asked that you have the swe oust approximately thirty four Okay,
- 15:41Speaker 3: but they're all different.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Some of them are the same.
- 15:45Speaker 3: This is what we kind of were.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Chatting about in your investing diary, how I was saying
- 15:50Speaker 2: that you hold so many things and there's a good
- 15:51Speaker 2: chance that that's probably a crossover.
- 15:53Speaker 5: Yes, and so some of them do have the same name,
- 15:55Speaker 5: but they have a different number at the end or something.
- 15:57Speaker 5: And I'm like, I don't have the and with to
- 16:01Speaker 5: read into it fully, so I kind of just leave it.
- 16:03Speaker 3: But I think I wish I was allowed into your
- 16:05Speaker 3: share portfolio. Just delete everything that I think is not
- 16:09Speaker 3: meant to be there and then be like, all right, back,
- 16:10Speaker 3: here are the three things that you're gonna buy. Don't
- 16:12Speaker 3: touch anything else.
- 16:13Speaker 4: Three.
- 16:14Speaker 5: Okay, that's good to know. Well, I don't worry too much.
- 16:17Speaker 5: I kind of just like track them. And I guess
- 16:19Speaker 5: you're like hedging. I know it's because you have one
- 16:22Speaker 5: and the other and then you have both, so it's
- 16:24Speaker 5: like you're hedging either way if you just have one
- 16:27Speaker 5: or the other and the other I should say, so,
- 16:30Speaker 5: I guess like just track it. I don't I wouldn't
- 16:32Speaker 5: be too worried. But maybe that's a really silly thing
- 16:35Speaker 5: to do. Maybe you should sell it when it.
- 16:37Speaker 3: Goes Miss Jessica.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll be honest, I don't. I'm not super familiar
- 16:42Speaker 2: with the difference between the two funds. The one is
- 16:44Speaker 2: obviously hedging. I'm assuming that's the point of difference. I
- 16:47Speaker 2: don't know how that impacts what's held within them.
- 16:50Speaker 3: So hedging is just taking into consideration currency conversion, so
- 16:55Speaker 3: like one takes into consideration like the currency, and the
- 16:58Speaker 3: other one is a little bit more exposed, so like
- 17:00Speaker 3: when the currency goes up and down, that will impact
- 17:02Speaker 3: it a bit more. Yeah, essentially, But their whole, But
- 17:06Speaker 3: they're the same ultimately, because the sm P five hundred
- 17:10Speaker 3: is basically the top five hundred companies on the US
- 17:13Speaker 3: Stock Exchange, and you've got S and P five hundred
- 17:16Speaker 3: here and S and P five hundred over there, So
- 17:19Speaker 3: you have two different funds. One might be like the
- 17:21Speaker 3: Cohle's version and one might be the Woolies version, but
- 17:24Speaker 3: they're the same basket of goods.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Yeah, well then I would just pick one. I mean
- 17:31Speaker 2: it really there's so many things, like if you have
- 17:33Speaker 2: been investing in them in for the same amount of time,
- 17:35Speaker 2: have you held them for every yarames discount? I just
- 17:39Speaker 2: think from like a logistical perspective, it probably makes sense
- 17:41Speaker 2: to pick one. Look at the fees perhaps that are
- 17:44Speaker 2: associated or you know, I don't at the structure of
- 17:47Speaker 2: these so like does one pay dividends and one doesen
- 17:50Speaker 2: or you know those sorts of things that you would
- 17:51Speaker 2: look at. Is it the worst thing to be investing
- 17:54Speaker 2: in both? And I wouldn't sell it a lost like
- 17:57Speaker 2: if they're if that one of them's down or both
- 17:59Speaker 2: of them are down, then I definitely wouldn't be selling.
- 18:01Speaker 2: But just from like an administrative logistical perspective, I personally
- 18:04Speaker 2: probably would look to roll them into one if it
- 18:06Speaker 2: was financially a good idea. Correct, Yeah, yeah, And That's
- 18:10Speaker 2: where I'm at.
- 18:11Speaker 3: So I don't know how long you've owned either of these,
- 18:14Speaker 3: and if you're like, oh, well, the I've owned them
- 18:17Speaker 3: for the same amount of time, honestly, and I can't
- 18:19Speaker 3: give advice. If that was me personally, I'd just wait
- 18:22Speaker 3: until the market was pretty stable and I was getting
- 18:25Speaker 3: back what I paid for it so that I could
- 18:27Speaker 3: roll it down into one, because I just like clean, like,
- 18:31Speaker 3: I don't want to own multiple things. Is it going
- 18:34Speaker 3: to impact you long term to own both? No, like
- 18:37Speaker 3: you own both, you have exposure to both of these.
- 18:40Speaker 3: But your pickle or your drama is going to come
- 18:43Speaker 3: from if you want to continue to hold to different
- 18:47Speaker 3: ETFs that are both SMP five hundred and let's say
- 18:50Speaker 3: you've got five hundred dollars to invest, Well, each transaction
- 18:55Speaker 3: is going to cost you brokerage. So are you splitting
- 18:58Speaker 3: that five hundred dollars into two hundred fifty dollars each
- 19:00Speaker 3: and putting it into both of those ETFs Therefore you're
- 19:03Speaker 3: doubling your brokerage fees? Or are you picking one or
- 19:07Speaker 3: are you picking the other? Like, I just think it's
- 19:09Speaker 3: going to increase your long term like cost basis and
- 19:12Speaker 3: how much it's going to cost you to hold those
- 19:15Speaker 3: assets long term. Right now, you've already got them, so
- 19:18Speaker 3: like it's already a lost cause if that makes sense,
- 19:20Speaker 3: Like you can't get back your brokerage. So some people
- 19:23Speaker 3: will say, well, may as well just continue holding them,
- 19:25Speaker 3: it doesn't matter. But you're basically holding the same thing
- 19:28Speaker 3: because like I'm not saying, oh, you went to Coals
- 19:32Speaker 3: and you got all Coals brand and therefore it was
- 19:34Speaker 3: like the home brand version of them, and they are
- 19:36Speaker 3: slightly different to the like Woolies version. Right, No, no, No,
- 19:39Speaker 3: You're gone to Coals and you bought veggimite. You've gone
- 19:42Speaker 3: to Woolies and you've bought vegimite, Like it's exactly the
- 19:45Speaker 3: same thing. Like we've gone to Coals and we've bought
- 19:47Speaker 3: you know, lurpack butter, We've bought veggiemite, and we've bought
- 19:50Speaker 3: Wonder white bread. You can get all of those things
- 19:53Speaker 3: identically at Woolies. You're holding the same stuff. It's not
- 19:57Speaker 3: like the Coals of version, if that makes sense, is
- 20:00Speaker 3: still the top five hundred companies in America in two
- 20:03Speaker 3: different accounts. But back to what Jess was saying, I
- 20:05Speaker 3: would be looking at the fee basis, like what does
- 20:08Speaker 3: that ETF cost you? What is their like dividend reinvestment plan,
- 20:12Speaker 3: what does what are the ethics of that company? Like
- 20:16Speaker 3: you might look at the two and I can't remember
- 20:18Speaker 3: the two businesses you said, but let's pretend it's like
- 20:20Speaker 3: a black Rock and a Vanguard. Which of those institutions
- 20:23Speaker 3: do you like more? Basically, And there's no right or wrong.
- 20:26Speaker 3: They're both very big financial institutions.
- 20:30Speaker 2: So I think in the same institute because it's the
- 20:32Speaker 2: same letters, just with H because one of them's hedging.
- 20:35Speaker 2: So yeah, I kind of assumed it was potentially the
- 20:37Speaker 2: same company.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Would that be right, Yeah, yeah, it would actually be Yeah, absolutely,
- 20:41Speaker 3: I would have a look whether you want a hedged
- 20:43Speaker 3: or an unhedged fund. Yeah, But in my head, I'm like,
- 20:46Speaker 3: if you have to, and I think this is really
- 20:48Speaker 3: common when you start investing and you kind of go, oh,
- 20:51Speaker 3: I want to own a Vanguard one and you pick
- 20:52Speaker 3: a Vanguard ETF, and oh I want to own a
- 20:54Speaker 3: black rock one, or I want to own a Beta
- 20:55Speaker 3: shares one and you're like, oh, I've got all these
- 20:57Speaker 3: different companies and then you start digging and you're like,
- 20:59Speaker 3: hold and they all hold, you know, the top two
- 21:02Speaker 3: hundred ASX dam Like I've bought the same thing. That's okay,
- 21:05Speaker 3: that's just a learning Like you're not in a worse
- 21:07Speaker 3: off financial position. You're still investing. That's great. Yeah, but
- 21:11Speaker 3: like maybe over time you've like bought a few things,
- 21:13Speaker 3: tested out what you like and what you don't like,
- 21:15Speaker 3: and then we create a really slim line strategy as
- 21:18Speaker 3: time goes on.
- 21:19Speaker 2: You're going to learn as you go. It's like not
- 21:21Speaker 2: the worst thing in the world exactly.
- 21:22Speaker 3: And like if it cost you a few extra dollars
- 21:24Speaker 3: in brokerage, I also don't think that's the end of
- 21:27Speaker 3: the world. Like that, to me, is the cost of
- 21:29Speaker 3: your financial literacy.
- 21:31Speaker 2: Yeah, totally.
- 21:31Speaker 3: If I've wasted you know, even one hundred dollars on
- 21:34Speaker 3: different like fees and charges, Look how much I've learned,
- 21:37Speaker 3: I'm kind of happy with that. That's much cheaper than
- 21:40Speaker 3: a financial advisor. Don't tell the financial advices I said that.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Would you like to hear this week's DM though, guys?
- 21:46Speaker 2: Yes?
- 21:47Speaker 3: Please? All right, So this week, we got a DM
- 21:50Speaker 3: said what would you do? I adore this community and
- 21:53Speaker 3: I'd love to see what they think of my difficult situation.
- 21:56Speaker 3: I work in sales in a very niche market that
- 21:59Speaker 3: is pretticular, which can get a little bit entangled. The
- 22:03Speaker 3: competitor has recently headhunted me. I am pretty interested. It's
- 22:07Speaker 3: a very big move and would be arguably very frowned
- 22:10Speaker 3: upon by my current company. I was completely transparent with
- 22:13Speaker 3: my boss, and I asked if my worth was enough
- 22:15Speaker 3: to warrant a base increase on my salary to consider
- 22:19Speaker 3: staying next to the competition renegged the opportunity from me.
- 22:23Speaker 3: I find out that someone from my company leaked the
- 22:26Speaker 3: angle I took, to which the competitor was then really annoyed.
- 22:31Speaker 3: They took back the job offer. My current employer, prior
- 22:35Speaker 3: to this, by literally an hour, delivered the news to
- 22:37Speaker 3: me that there would be no more money given to me.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Talk about eating humble pie. I'm so devastated and confused
- 22:45Speaker 3: on what next steps to take. What would you do
- 22:47Speaker 3: the drama?
- 22:48Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, that's crazy.
- 22:52Speaker 3: You guys thought it was just going to be about
- 22:54Speaker 3: being headhunted. Now you would be like, take the opportunity
- 22:57Speaker 3: coins totally.
- 22:59Speaker 5: I think you should leave that job anyway, because the
- 23:01Speaker 5: fact that they're punishing you, I think that's so I
- 23:05Speaker 5: really want to swear they should not be doing that.
- 23:07Speaker 5: You're employ someone else headhunted you, so your value is
- 23:10Speaker 5: obviously very very high. You're very very good at what
- 23:12Speaker 5: you do. You're extremely intelligent. I'm assuming you're really really
- 23:15Speaker 5: good at your job, and then your boss is punishing
- 23:18Speaker 5: you for that. You did the right thing, you were transparent,
- 23:21Speaker 5: You're like, this is the situation. Obviously, if someone's offering
- 23:24Speaker 5: you you more money, then you're gonna be like, you're
- 23:28Speaker 5: not married. It's like jobs and loyalty and all this
- 23:31Speaker 5: kind of stuff.
- 23:32Speaker 2: You only have to be loyal if they're treating you
- 23:33Speaker 2: right and they're paying you what you are actually worse.
- 23:36Speaker 2: And it sounds like you don't have to be loyal ever.
- 23:38Speaker 5: You don't have to be loyal ever. But if you
- 23:40Speaker 5: are going to be, at the very least, they should
- 23:42Speaker 5: be doing that. They should be really appreciating you and
- 23:44Speaker 5: valuing you as a person. And so something comes along,
- 23:46Speaker 5: it's like, here's more money. I'm assuming it's more money.
- 23:49Speaker 5: That's why they was quite keen. It's not just like,
- 23:52Speaker 5: oh no, you're like not being loyal.
- 23:54Speaker 3: It's like, okay, but my.
- 23:55Speaker 2: Whole livelihood will change. It will depend on it.
- 24:00Speaker 3: I work just because I'm like, I love you plus
- 24:04Speaker 3: hours to you. That's crazy.
- 24:07Speaker 5: And your current boss, I'm assuming they said, oh, we
- 24:09Speaker 5: can't give you a pay rise because they heard that
- 24:11Speaker 5: you weren't getting Maybe maybe it's not true. Maybe they're
- 24:13Speaker 5: just like, no, we can't give you a pay rise.
- 24:14Speaker 5: The other company to should be feel ashamed of themselves
- 24:17Speaker 5: because this is so gross secrecy.
- 24:21Speaker 2: You know, it's like who cares?
- 24:22Speaker 5: Like I always hate this secrecy, and like, oh, don't
- 24:24Speaker 5: tell anyone what you get paid, don't tell anyone that
- 24:26Speaker 5: you've been off at a job.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Don't tell anyone.
- 24:27Speaker 5: You're like, it's like, just it's your life. You're allowed
- 24:30Speaker 5: to say whatever you want. You've you've dealt with. This
- 24:31Speaker 5: is the best way you can. We're going to blindside them.
- 24:34Speaker 5: You should not be eating any humber pie. If you're
- 24:36Speaker 5: eating a lovely pie. But you you didn't not do
- 24:40Speaker 5: anything wrong. Everyone else did everything wrong. The person who
- 24:43Speaker 5: told them.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Horrible.
- 24:47Speaker 3: Everyone in the story except for this not to be
- 24:50Speaker 3: for our community. Men obviously, yeah, obviously it is horrible.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Get out of there, bro. It's also I'm just really
- 24:57Speaker 2: shocked by this response from everyone because we said before
- 24:59Speaker 2: I squeaking recruitment. It was in executive search, which is
- 25:02Speaker 2: like recruitment specifically for like generally C Sweet roles. Some
- 25:06Speaker 2: of the roles that we recruited for were so niche
- 25:08Speaker 2: that there would be maybe fifteen people in the country
- 25:11Speaker 2: who would be qualified applicants in those types of roles.
- 25:15Speaker 2: And in C Sweet broadly, you are headhunting, Like the
- 25:18Speaker 2: people you want are the people who are doing good
- 25:21Speaker 2: jobs at other companies. And this is absolutely applicable like
- 25:25Speaker 2: across the board in most kinds of corporate like the
- 25:28Speaker 2: people who are really shining in their careers, other people
- 25:31Speaker 2: that other companies want to hire. And the process of negotiation,
- 25:36Speaker 2: the process of counteroffering is a very standard, very like
- 25:41Speaker 2: commonplace thing. I would say, I think the fact that you,
- 25:45Speaker 2: from my perspective, the fact that you have gone to
- 25:46Speaker 2: your employer and said, hey, I like my job here
- 25:49Speaker 2: enough that I would prefer to stay, says a lot
- 25:52Speaker 2: about you, says a lot about the culture. And you know,
- 25:55Speaker 2: maybe your career trajector or whatever that you have there.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Your employer should be really grateful for that, I think,
- 26:01Speaker 2: because from my perspective, it's kind of like, well, I
- 26:04Speaker 2: could go elsewhere and do better very easily, because that's
- 26:07Speaker 2: being offered to me on a silver platter. But the
- 26:09Speaker 2: fact that I've chosen to stay, I want to say, yeah,
- 26:12Speaker 2: I want to continue to dedicate my time, my energy, whatever,
- 26:16Speaker 2: but I need you to match the salary. I think
- 26:18Speaker 2: is more than reasonable because how many people are going
- 26:21Speaker 2: to look at an opportunity to increase their income and
- 26:24Speaker 2: say no. I know, like I just I think, especially
- 26:27Speaker 2: one d cost salving crisis, that's actually not a privilege
- 26:30Speaker 2: that's afforded to a lot of us, And I think
- 26:33Speaker 2: it's crazy. You know what, counter offering, Like, some people
- 26:36Speaker 2: can like say no to a counter They're well within
- 26:39Speaker 2: their rights to do so. I think my biggest issue
- 26:41Speaker 2: is with the other company taking issue with the fact
- 26:45Speaker 2: that you sought a counter.
- 26:47Speaker 3: I was going to say, I don't know how to
- 26:49Speaker 3: bring this up because I'm an employer. I'm an employer
- 26:52Speaker 3: and this is going to sound terrible. Counsel me if
- 26:57Speaker 3: one of my team is so like I genuinely leave.
- 27:00Speaker 3: Have staff members that are so like quick, smart, their
- 27:05Speaker 3: weapons right that they could work anywhere. They could literally
- 27:08Speaker 3: work anywhere and any company. I think any company would
- 27:11Speaker 3: be so lucky to have anyone that works for me
- 27:13Speaker 3: because they are so good. But I hope that I
- 27:16Speaker 3: have treated them so well and pay them so well
- 27:18Speaker 3: they don't want to work somewhere else. And that's cool.
- 27:22Speaker 3: But I think it is a sign that you are
- 27:25Speaker 3: unhappy with your current role if you are being headhunted
- 27:29Speaker 3: and you entertain that conversation, and that is okay, but
- 27:32Speaker 3: you need to look on or like as the employee.
- 27:35Speaker 3: Like let's say someone head hunts Jess, can't blame them.
- 27:39Speaker 2: I get it.
- 27:40Speaker 3: I love working with Jess, so any other company would
- 27:43Speaker 3: love that too. I see why you want that. But
- 27:45Speaker 3: I would hope that Jess is like, oh, thanks so
- 27:47Speaker 3: mut Like I hope this is like a dream outcome, right,
- 27:51Speaker 3: I hope that Jess would be like, oh, thank you
- 27:52Speaker 3: so much. But I love working at cheese on the money.
- 27:55Speaker 3: I'm just not very interested in that conversation. Thanks though.
- 27:58Speaker 2: But if for men that Jess could have fallen to
- 28:00Speaker 2: her property sooner.
- 28:01Speaker 3: Exactly, I understand why she would then have that conversation
- 28:05Speaker 3: but if Jess came to me, and this is not
- 28:08Speaker 3: me going, don't do that. But if Jess came to
- 28:11Speaker 3: me and said another company said they'd pay me more,
- 28:13Speaker 3: I would say, congratulations, Jess, I'm really happy for you.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Go yeah, that's your entitlement as an employer exactly.
- 28:21Speaker 3: But I would hope that if Jess wasn't being paid
- 28:24Speaker 3: her worth and didn't like her role and wanted more money.
- 28:27Speaker 3: And we're pretending that this is like for like, I'm
- 28:30Speaker 3: not saying, oh, Jess got like offered head of partnership said,
- 28:33Speaker 3: the biggest global organization is going to pay three times
- 28:36Speaker 3: like do you know what I mean? Like different role,
- 28:38Speaker 3: that's a different conversation again. But if it was like
- 28:40Speaker 3: for like, and she goes, oh, I really want to
- 28:42Speaker 3: be paid more by you just because someone else's competition.
- 28:45Speaker 3: I'm not paying more for competition, but I will pay
- 28:47Speaker 3: more for capability. If you come to me and say, hey,
- 28:50Speaker 3: VEE want to look at my role, I want to
- 28:52Speaker 3: earn X amount more.
- 28:53Speaker 2: What would I need to do to do that?
- 28:55Speaker 3: What would that look like? And we have that conversation,
- 28:57Speaker 3: have a payrisk, great love that conversation, and like we
- 29:00Speaker 3: have those conversations internally. But I think it is a
- 29:03Speaker 3: sign that and I'm using just just as an example
- 29:05Speaker 3: because she literally does work for me. But if she
- 29:07Speaker 3: came to me and said, I want to be paid
- 29:09Speaker 3: more because somebody else is willing to pay more, that
- 29:12Speaker 3: is a really bad business decision for my part, for
- 29:15Speaker 3: a couple of reasons. One, I'm just paying you more
- 29:18Speaker 3: to stay in a job that I've actually been given
- 29:21Speaker 3: a red flag that you were already looking for something else.
- 29:23Speaker 3: So what am I doing keeping you for another three
- 29:25Speaker 3: or six months before you start looking elsewhere? Because it
- 29:27Speaker 3: might actually not be the salary, it might be the culture,
- 29:29Speaker 3: it might be the job. Maybe you've outgrown that role
- 29:32Speaker 3: and you're looking for more and you're just like hungry.
- 29:34Speaker 3: Am I shooting myself in the foot? There's a I know,
- 29:39Speaker 3: I'm feel the same.
- 29:40Speaker 2: She wasn't looking too because someone came to her.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Right, this situation is effed up. Like I'm not saying
- 29:46Speaker 3: that's appropriate at all, but like, I just think there's
- 29:48Speaker 3: so much going on, And maybe this is because I'm
- 29:50Speaker 3: a small business and I'm like, well, I'm not into competition.
- 29:55Speaker 3: If you want to go work for my competitor, I
- 29:57Speaker 3: honest to God, wish you the best. Yeah, I'll hold
- 30:00Speaker 3: your hand. I'll give you the best reference ever because
- 30:02Speaker 3: I prefer to preserve that. Then you know, be like,
- 30:04Speaker 3: oh my god, I can't believe she wants to work
- 30:06Speaker 3: for my competitor. They're my competitor because they're good.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Yeah. What did everybody else say? Or the spicy spicy?
- 30:14Speaker 2: Are you ready?
- 30:15Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 30:16Speaker 3: So first we said, got a few questions for you guys.
- 30:18Speaker 3: What would you do if you were our community member?
- 30:21Speaker 3: Eighty seven percent said stay with an exit strategy, seven
- 30:25Speaker 3: percent said stay and rebuild, six percent said I'm quitting
- 30:29Speaker 3: straight away.
- 30:30Speaker 2: Yeah, divers, make sure you got something lined up just
- 30:33Speaker 2: in this job of Connie, I would say, makes telling
- 30:36Speaker 2: us to effect this earlier.
- 30:38Speaker 3: But like Beck takes the information and then she scunches
- 30:42Speaker 3: it up in a ball, or she puts it in
- 30:43Speaker 3: the binner. She does whatever she wants.
- 30:45Speaker 2: I put it in a jar that I will come
- 30:47Speaker 2: back to, but I always forget to come back to it.
- 30:49Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the ADHD. I get it out of sight,
- 30:52Speaker 3: out of mind. Next we said, could you move past
- 30:55Speaker 3: something like this?
- 30:56Speaker 4: Also?
- 30:57Speaker 3: I don't think you should.
- 30:58Speaker 2: That was that was dog dog. That was so rude. Sorry, aside,
- 31:03Speaker 2: don't we didn't even mention. I would be going to
- 31:05Speaker 2: your your senior management team and saying, I don't know
- 31:09Speaker 2: who the league was, but I want an inquisition into who.
- 31:12Speaker 3: Did it because the fact, because that's that's so bad.
- 31:15Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know how many people you told,
- 31:17Speaker 2: but if you only have this conversation with members of management,
- 31:20Speaker 2: that means it's come from somebody in management, which is
- 31:22Speaker 2: completely unacceptable.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Oh that makes me so mad. But also this is
- 31:26Speaker 3: going to sound bad, but like, sorry, don't hate the player,
- 31:29Speaker 3: I hate the game. We're playing this game, no worries.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Let's go back to the competition and say, hey, I
- 31:34Speaker 3: know that you rescinded it for this reason. But I
- 31:37Speaker 3: was just trying to see what my worth was, Like
- 31:39Speaker 3: I didn't want to take the job with my current employer,
- 31:43Speaker 3: Like I just wanted to see if that was the
- 31:45Speaker 3: thing that would to finally get them to pay me
- 31:47Speaker 3: what I'm worth. But I had every intention of moving over.
- 31:51Speaker 3: Is that a way to play the game to get
- 31:53Speaker 3: the job offer back to get out of there?
- 31:54Speaker 5: Maybe, But if they're going to see the job, yeah,
- 31:57Speaker 5: I wouldn't even want I wouldn't want anything to do
- 31:59Speaker 5: with anyone. I would be going and starting my own
- 32:01Speaker 5: sounds like this person is really valuable. They could go
- 32:03Speaker 5: and start their own business somewhere else.
- 32:05Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's such a niche, Like I don't know
- 32:07Speaker 3: what it is, but it's such a niche.
- 32:09Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true. It's really tough sign a third competitor
- 32:13Speaker 2: and see what you can do with them. Yes, but
- 32:16Speaker 2: also just.
- 32:17Speaker 3: The idea that people are leaking stuff and talking about you.
- 32:21Speaker 2: I know, that's so true. Actually a really good point,
- 32:23Speaker 2: and that's very inappropriate logic complain.
- 32:26Speaker 3: Well, apparently the three of us can't move beyond to this.
- 32:30Speaker 3: But we did ask our community, could do you move
- 32:33Speaker 3: beyond this? Sixty nine percent of you said yeah, but
- 32:36Speaker 3: I would be much more guarded. Yeah, sixty nine percent
- 32:39Speaker 3: of the community are better people than we are.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:41Speaker 5: True.
- 32:42Speaker 3: Twenty two percent of the community said no way, there
- 32:44Speaker 3: are people yeah, And then nine percent said yes, but
- 32:47Speaker 3: I would remain professional okay, couldn't been me.
- 32:51Speaker 2: I will cause a scene with me okay.
- 32:54Speaker 3: So then the responses they were as mad about it
- 32:57Speaker 3: as we were. So first thing said, find a new job,
- 33:00Speaker 3: get a new career. Another person said I would find
- 33:04Speaker 3: another job, just purely because someone in your current company
- 33:07Speaker 3: is displaying very unethical behavior.
- 33:09Speaker 2: Completely agree.
- 33:09Speaker 3: Another person said, it really depends how you feel about
- 33:12Speaker 3: your work. Quitting is an option, but if you love it,
- 33:14Speaker 3: maybe try and make it work. The next person said,
- 33:17Speaker 3: this depends so much on whether you actually like the work.
- 33:20Speaker 3: People will move on over time. Another person said, I'm
- 33:24Speaker 3: going to need to know who leaked to that info.
- 33:27Speaker 3: Another person said, can you not go with the new
- 33:29Speaker 3: company because the argument is that it shows that you're
- 33:32Speaker 3: a loyal employee. I like that so true.
- 33:35Speaker 2: That's a really good perspective.
- 33:36Speaker 3: I gave my employer the opportunity to keep me like
- 33:40Speaker 3: I'm loyal.
- 33:41Speaker 2: Do you not want that? Yeah? Take fantastic take.
- 33:45Speaker 3: See if I ever have job issues, you best believe
- 33:48Speaker 3: I'm going to make them look like community dms. I'm
- 33:52Speaker 3: going to ask community for their advice to be like
- 33:54Speaker 3: what do I do? Someone said it actually never pays
- 33:57Speaker 3: to be transparent with your employers for a raise, back
- 34:01Speaker 3: yourself with reasons why.
- 34:03Speaker 2: It's kind of what you were saying that sucks, isn't
- 34:05Speaker 2: it does?
- 34:06Speaker 3: But like yet is kind of what I was saying. Like,
- 34:09Speaker 3: I'm just I don't want to get into a competition
- 34:13Speaker 3: with another employer, Like if they're going to pay you more,
- 34:16Speaker 3: and you've just said to me that you really want
- 34:18Speaker 3: to go and work there, Like, do that if you
- 34:20Speaker 3: want to be paid more in my business, we can
- 34:23Speaker 3: talk about that, Like I want my team to be
- 34:25Speaker 3: earning as much money as possible, Like I want to
- 34:29Speaker 3: give you new tasks and new responsibilities. I want to
- 34:31Speaker 3: be hitting new sales goals and stuff that genuinely mean
- 34:34Speaker 3: that my team gets paid more. That makes sense, I
- 34:37Speaker 3: want that for you too, But that's also a reflection
- 34:41Speaker 3: of the culture that we have. Like I am acutely
- 34:44Speaker 3: aware that I'm a small business and that, sadly, one day,
- 34:47Speaker 3: Jess will probably come to me and be like, I
- 34:48Speaker 3: have the biggest job opportunity, and all I'm going to
- 34:51Speaker 3: be able to be is like, oh my god. As
- 34:53Speaker 3: a friend, I'm so excited. That is a sick opportunity.
- 34:55Speaker 3: Of course you got that. And then as an employer,
- 34:59Speaker 3: I'll be like, oh, but she's so good, do you
- 35:01Speaker 3: know what I mean? Like, I'm a small business. I
- 35:03Speaker 3: can't hold onto everybody. I can't Like, sadly, another person said,
- 35:10Speaker 3: be guarded someone at your company leaked to that information
- 35:13Speaker 3: and it will continue to happen.
- 35:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 35:15Speaker 3: And another person said the worst thing that can happen
- 35:18Speaker 3: is they say no, And I agree, but like everybody.
- 35:23Speaker 2: Said no, and that wasn't a shit situation.
- 35:26Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, Like side note, because I can't endorse this response,
- 35:32Speaker 3: find out who did it.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Key there cr absolutely at the very least.
- 35:37Speaker 3: I did not say that, but I hear that people
- 35:42Speaker 3: do do stuff like that. But God, things happen to
- 35:45Speaker 3: good people, so you would never no.
- 35:47Speaker 2: No, But bad things happen to bad people, so maybe
- 35:49Speaker 2: you would.
- 35:52Speaker 3: I think we've done here.
- 35:55Speaker 2: Thank you so much.
- 35:56Speaker 3: We'll see you bright and early on a Monday morning
- 35:58Speaker 3: for a money diary until you learn how a great weekend.
- 36:01Speaker 2: Guys, Bye, guys Bye.
