- 0:00Speaker 1: She's on the Money. She's on the Money.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Hello and Welcome to the She's on the Money podcast
- 0:26Speaker 2: for millennials who want financial freedom.
- 0:28Speaker 3: I think we are taking the actual mickey here, Trap.
- 0:31Speaker 2: I was just trying to remember what you told me
- 0:33Speaker 2: to say, Mate, that's all you know what?
- 0:35Speaker 4: Write it down, Trap. I want to hear Trav sing
- 0:37Speaker 4: that intro.
- 0:37Speaker 5: Actually, I think that'd be a nice jingle like I
- 0:39Speaker 5: can do On the Money musical.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Hello and welcome, She is on the Money podcast for
- 0:47Speaker 2: millennial who want financial Oh, it started so strong.
- 0:53Speaker 3: This is the podcast which is basically the behind the
- 0:55Speaker 3: scenes of our radio show. Because our community is our
- 0:59Speaker 3: favorite thing, right or it's my favorite things, and about you,
- 1:01Speaker 3: I'm going to sell you on them. They are good eggs.
- 1:04Speaker 3: They're good people doing good things. And I obviously love
- 1:07Speaker 3: the radio show, but I love my podcast community more so.
- 1:10Speaker 3: And I love the deal.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Yeah, the fact of like the podcast and the community
- 1:13Speaker 2: that comes along it makes them feel like they're all
- 1:15Speaker 2: crammed into this studio with us and they can hear
- 1:18Speaker 2: the stuff that we say in the songs and the
- 1:21Speaker 2: things that Richie rich tells us not to say, and
- 1:23Speaker 2: they go, yeah, you should totally say that we should.
- 1:25Speaker 4: But they can also get involved.
- 1:27Speaker 5: They can call through to the show and leave us messages,
- 1:29Speaker 5: like if they want to send us voice messages on Instagram,
- 1:31Speaker 5: they can get on air with us.
- 1:33Speaker 3: I replied to all my dms too, So if you've
- 1:35Speaker 3: ever got a hot tip to you, I'm gonna share
- 1:37Speaker 3: on the radio show. That is the easiest way to
- 1:38Speaker 3: get in touch with.
- 1:39Speaker 4: Me is the DM.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Dms be kind though, no weird pictures.
- 1:43Speaker 2: It might take her three weeks to reply to it,
- 1:46Speaker 2: and she might leave me.
- 1:47Speaker 3: With that true for me, it's not true to me.
- 1:49Speaker 5: It's the best night to DM Victoria. Tuesday nights eight
- 1:52Speaker 5: PM's were the best.
- 1:54Speaker 2: You'll get that later, yeah, eight thirty pm because she's
- 1:57Speaker 2: too busy doing something else. APM.
- 1:59Speaker 4: That'll be so funny in about twenty minutes when you.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Hear you're focused on another task, which they will hear
- 2:05Speaker 2: it about twenty minutes time.
- 2:06Speaker 4: But what's on the show? Tell us what's on the show,
- 2:08Speaker 4: because it was very good.
- 2:09Speaker 6: It was.
- 2:09Speaker 2: We're going to delve into your guilty pleasures and how
- 2:12Speaker 2: much you spend on them, because Mitch, I believe you
- 2:15Speaker 2: spend seventeen thousand dollars in yours.
- 2:18Speaker 3: That is disgusting.
- 2:19Speaker 4: Don't tell them what it is. Don't tell them what
- 2:20Speaker 4: it is.
- 2:21Speaker 5: But it's greasy, it's hot, and it turns up to
- 2:24Speaker 5: my door and I get really excited.
- 2:25Speaker 3: That sounds wildly inappropriate that I'm going to say.
- 2:28Speaker 5: I'm going to leave it, leave it up to the
- 2:29Speaker 5: imagination of the Sheh's on the Monday nights.
- 2:31Speaker 2: That's what we call a teas or a hook in
- 2:33Speaker 2: the radio. And so we're also going to give you
- 2:36Speaker 2: some little money matters tips as well. I'm going to
- 2:39Speaker 2: tell you how you can keep little bit more bucks
- 2:41Speaker 2: in your bank account and super save a Saturday. It's
- 2:45Speaker 2: our favorite thing of the week where we're not going
- 2:47Speaker 2: to talk about it.
- 2:48Speaker 3: It's really good, mainly because it was my idea. No
- 2:50Speaker 3: I was, and I think it was Richie Richard's idea.
- 2:52Speaker 2: But the thing is, you know, we're not going to
- 2:54Speaker 2: talk about all those things that people like Mitch and
- 2:56Speaker 2: I have no idea about because we're not smart enough
- 2:59Speaker 2: to understand that's your podcast for you, Okay, Well we're
- 3:04Speaker 2: going to dumb it down for people like myself.
- 3:06Speaker 3: And it probably wasn't entirely truthful today on the radio
- 3:09Speaker 3: show about my guilty pleasures.
- 3:11Speaker 4: Either.
- 3:11Speaker 3: I think that everybody in my community knows I'm a
- 3:14Speaker 3: bit better at spending and it's not just coffee that
- 3:16Speaker 3: is my guilty pleasure, you know, a bit of a spoiler.
- 3:18Speaker 3: But at the same time, I think that was a
- 3:20Speaker 3: good radio hook, right, yeah, I hear about it.
- 3:23Speaker 4: It worked, It worked.
- 3:24Speaker 2: I just don't know why you lie to people. That's
- 3:26Speaker 2: my only.
- 3:26Speaker 3: Problem, because I didn't want, you know, millions of people
- 3:30Speaker 3: judging me on the fact that I really like nice
- 3:32Speaker 3: shoes and handbags. Like I just felt like it was
- 3:34Speaker 3: a bit too soon to get to know me that deep.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, but the community know you very well. But
- 3:39Speaker 2: that's okay, all right, Let's get into the radio show
- 3:42Speaker 2: right now. This is the She's on the Money radio
- 3:45Speaker 2: show every morning nine am across the country.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Not every morning.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Yeah good.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Can you imagine if it was, we.
- 3:52Speaker 4: Would have made its.
- 3:54Speaker 2: I'd have to get up too early every single day,
- 3:57Speaker 2: and I'm not into that.
- 3:57Speaker 3: I would for breakfast radio show.
- 3:59Speaker 5: Right.
- 4:03Speaker 1: She's on the Money radio show.
- 4:07Speaker 4: With Victoria Divine guilty Pleasure. Guilty Pleasure?
- 4:17Speaker 2: Who made that? I love the good pun on Queen's
- 4:21Speaker 2: under pressure, Richie rich our producer. Very well done, then.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Did you make that, Richie Rich?
- 4:26Speaker 4: That is a good gear.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Anyway, We do all have guilty pleasures. You know, we
- 4:30Speaker 2: can't live with our guys. Just because we want financial
- 4:33Speaker 2: freedom doesn't mean that you need to go without everything.
- 4:36Speaker 2: You can splurge here and there right mitches everywhere.
- 4:39Speaker 5: Okay, now that makes me sound like a monster. I
- 4:42Speaker 5: do splurge everywhere. I don't save anything, Victoria. I don't
- 4:44Speaker 5: think I've ever told you this, ques You're really bad.
- 4:47Speaker 5: I try to save like one thousand a month. If
- 4:49Speaker 5: that I see something, I get it. I want I've
- 4:51Speaker 5: had lunch. I see some more food than I go.
- 4:53Speaker 5: You know what I want that eat it later?
- 4:55Speaker 4: I do want it. I got it?
- 4:56Speaker 2: Okay. Apart from the Theoremon's what's your guilty pleasure? Would
- 4:59Speaker 2: you say, mate?
- 5:00Speaker 4: Not really fair? I mean that's not really that expensive.
- 5:02Speaker 3: I have not that expense, he says, just about a
- 5:04Speaker 3: blast eight hundred bucks he spent on Facebook.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Market's like, fine, don't worry.
- 5:07Speaker 4: Wait to hear his feet.
- 5:08Speaker 5: In the last twelve months alone, I've spent over seventeen
- 5:11Speaker 5: thousand dollars on it.
- 5:12Speaker 2: What on Uber eighth. Are you joking?
- 5:16Speaker 3: What are you ordering?
- 5:17Speaker 4: That's for my partner and I.
- 5:18Speaker 5: But that's the thing, like I will get two meals
- 5:20Speaker 5: if there's a meal deal, I will get the second
- 5:22Speaker 5: meal and double the price just so I have food
- 5:24Speaker 5: for the next day.
- 5:25Speaker 4: So technically I'm saving money.
- 5:27Speaker 3: No meat. You're spending more on food from Uber Eats
- 5:30Speaker 3: than most people do on rent. Sit down, sir.
- 5:32Speaker 2: You know when Victoria whips out a calculator that is
- 5:35Speaker 2: out of control? How much is that.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Fourteen hundred and sixteen dollars per month? And you're like, oh,
- 5:41Speaker 3: it's for my partner, so that's like seven hundred bucks each.
- 5:44Speaker 4: It was lockdown. It was lockdown.
- 5:46Speaker 3: No, that is no excuse. I thought everyone just ate
- 5:49Speaker 3: easy Mac during lockdown? Is that not what the reality.
- 5:53Speaker 5: Of I had easy Mac too, but I got it
- 5:55Speaker 5: Uber eachsed in it is all grocery shopping is like
- 5:57Speaker 5: that instant milk grun, all the delivery serve.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Yeah. I don't even need.
- 6:01Speaker 2: A car at this point, and that is ridiculous. All right, Victoria,
- 6:03Speaker 2: what's your guilty pleasure?
- 6:04Speaker 3: Look, I have a few. I do love my shoes
- 6:07Speaker 3: and handbags and travel and all of the things. That
- 6:09Speaker 3: I think everybody loves. But from my perspective, it's really
- 6:13Speaker 3: about balance, and it's really about working out what your
- 6:15Speaker 3: guilty pleasure is and kind of also leaning into it
- 6:18Speaker 3: so you cannot feel guilty about a guilty pleasure, but
- 6:22Speaker 3: rather go Do you know what? That's part of my lifestyle.
- 6:24Speaker 3: I love it. And for me that's coffee, like one
- 6:27Speaker 3: or two a day. I know that that sounds small
- 6:29Speaker 3: because I think every other financial advice is like, do
- 6:31Speaker 3: you know you can save fourteen hundred dollars a year
- 6:34Speaker 3: if you don't have your morning coffee.
- 6:36Speaker 4: Yeah, they always shave the coffee off, don't they.
- 6:38Speaker 3: I don't understand it, because to me, that's my favorite
- 6:41Speaker 3: thing in the morning, like going for a walk with
- 6:42Speaker 3: my partner grabbing a coffee, which I'm now no longer
- 6:45Speaker 3: able to do on Saturday mornings, which is kind of
- 6:47Speaker 3: rude because I haven't hang out with Michi. It's never
- 6:48Speaker 3: bought me a coffee.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Well, you're making money now though, that's the difference.
- 6:52Speaker 3: This is very important. Now I can afford more coffee.
- 6:55Speaker 2: I mean it's kind of a catch twenty two. Really,
- 6:57Speaker 2: you can afford them, but you're not buying them, so.
- 6:59Speaker 3: No going to make Niche pay for them the money
- 7:02Speaker 3: win all around.
- 7:02Speaker 5: Well, I can't afford it because you know how much
- 7:04Speaker 5: I'm spending on Uber Eats.
- 7:04Speaker 4: That's the problem.
- 7:06Speaker 2: This is she's on the Money radio show. Just before
- 7:09Speaker 2: the break, you were telling us that your guilty pleasure
- 7:11Speaker 2: of Victoria Devine is coffee.
- 7:13Speaker 3: Before the coffee I have baraka.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Okay, and Mitch, you are an Uber Eats bandits seventeen
- 7:18Speaker 2: thousand dollars.
- 7:19Speaker 3: All I can't.
- 7:20Speaker 5: I feel like in the year of Lockdown, I couldn't
- 7:23Speaker 5: go out and cook food.
- 7:24Speaker 2: That's why, sure, mate, But that's okay. We're going to
- 7:27Speaker 2: make you feel a bit better because we're taking your
- 7:29Speaker 2: cars on thirty one oh sixty five. What's your guilty
- 7:32Speaker 2: pleasure and how much have you spent on it? Right now?
- 7:34Speaker 2: We've got Tommy, Tommy, what's yours?
- 7:36Speaker 4: Buddy?
- 7:37Speaker 6: Okay, mate? So my guilty pleasure is I only like
- 7:39Speaker 6: putting premium um leaded petrol in my car because it
- 7:43Speaker 6: just makes the motor per Mate, I can't do It's
- 7:44Speaker 6: only fifteen cents twenty cents more, but I just got
- 7:47Speaker 6: to do it.
- 7:47Speaker 3: I can't fifteen or twenty cents in these hard economic times, Tommy.
- 7:51Speaker 6: You gotta do what you gotta do.
- 7:53Speaker 5: Okay, he's not even doing it for performance, per for
- 7:57Speaker 5: a per he's a cat man.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Are you the kind of guy that rocks up does
- 8:00Speaker 2: bog laps? Tommy? And you're like, hey, girls, listen to
- 8:02Speaker 2: this baby chap flaps?
- 8:06Speaker 5: Yeah, And then I like that joke, didn't he? So
- 8:08Speaker 5: he's just traps audience.
- 8:09Speaker 3: I've got questions. I've got real questions.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Go for a Victoria.
- 8:13Speaker 3: I don't understand the difference.
- 8:15Speaker 5: What is the neither?
- 8:16Speaker 7: Do I?
- 8:20Speaker 6: I only get things that are premiut.
- 8:22Speaker 5: Oh wow, Tommy, here I reckon.
- 8:27Speaker 4: He's in the Toyota Yaris.
- 8:29Speaker 2: He actually has a prius, so he doesn't even use
- 8:31Speaker 2: Fore Mandy on thirty one six five, what's your guilty pleasure?
- 8:39Speaker 2: And how much have you spent on it?
- 8:41Speaker 7: About seven eight hundred dollars a month on boatox.
- 8:46Speaker 3: A month on boat box. Okay, as somebody who's happy
- 8:49Speaker 3: to with me on national radio that they also get botox? Girl,
- 8:53Speaker 3: how are you spending that much per month?
- 8:55Speaker 4: It's a lot of botoxs.
- 8:56Speaker 3: Where are you putting it?
- 8:57Speaker 2: Hang on a second, let's keep it family friendly.
- 9:00Speaker 3: No like is it is it that typing your jaws?
- 9:03Speaker 5: So?
- 9:04Speaker 1: Yeah, so you're fore head frown crows feet. I obviously
- 9:09Speaker 1: get a lot of fillers.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Is the seven hundred dollars does that include the fillers?
- 9:14Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 9:14Speaker 1: So basically I spread it out so I don't get
- 9:17Speaker 1: it all at once, and it averages out to about
- 9:18Speaker 1: seven hundred a month.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Who does your partner know about this?
- 9:22Speaker 3: Man? Tras?
- 9:25Speaker 2: I would have thought that you were so angry, but
- 9:27Speaker 2: I can't see an expression on your face.
- 9:30Speaker 4: Got you gotta good?
- 9:33Speaker 2: All right?
- 9:33Speaker 5: Hey?
- 9:33Speaker 2: Thanks Mandy. Jake, what is your guilty pleasure on thirty
- 9:37Speaker 2: one O six five? And how much a month are
- 9:39Speaker 2: you spending on the money? Guys?
- 9:40Speaker 7: I'll be honest, I am a sneak ahead and specifically
- 9:44Speaker 7: in the easy season apparel, so that's Kanye West brand.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Those are you playing at home? Just in case you
- 9:52Speaker 2: don't know, I'm a easyhead too.
- 9:54Speaker 4: I'm an easy fan too. I got all the easy
- 9:55Speaker 4: So this is Jake's a man to my own heart.
- 9:57Speaker 7: I love this Jake perfect bro. So you know how
- 9:59Speaker 7: much they cost cost? On average? Around like six hundred
- 10:03Speaker 7: bucks a.
- 10:03Speaker 5: Pair, right, Yeah, six to eight hundred depending on the season.
- 10:06Speaker 5: And if Kanye and Kim wear them. It's skyrockets to
- 10:09Speaker 5: like over a thousand, but for like the cheapest pair
- 10:10Speaker 5: would be five hundred bucks.
- 10:13Speaker 7: I reckon I've spent I'm not joking, probably around ten k.
- 10:18Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yes.
- 10:20Speaker 2: You might say, yeesus.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Jesus, I like that. I'm I'm sure. I spent sixty
- 10:26Speaker 3: six dollars on the added Ass website this week on
- 10:28Speaker 3: their click frenzy sale get a new pair of sneakers.
- 10:31Speaker 3: I thought that was pretty expensive.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I'm also shook because, for some reason
- 10:35Speaker 2: of fifteen year olders replace a Victoria divine in the
- 10:37Speaker 2: radio studio here.
- 10:38Speaker 3: What's wrong with me?
- 10:39Speaker 2: But the word shook? I thought it was so please no,
- 10:44Speaker 2: thank you so much, Jake. Well, I hope that makes
- 10:47Speaker 2: you guys feel a little bit better about obviously your
- 10:49Speaker 2: coffee addiction and your uber eats addiction. Mitch, it's always
- 10:52Speaker 2: good to throw it out there to the listeners on
- 10:54Speaker 2: thirty one oh six five.
- 10:55Speaker 5: It makes me feel a bit better. But Victoria, your
- 10:57Speaker 5: is yours is this week? Yours is just a coffee?
- 11:00Speaker 4: And then here are we spend a ten k plass?
- 11:02Speaker 4: You know? See?
- 11:02Speaker 3: I call that my guilty pleasure. And I like calling
- 11:05Speaker 3: it out as a financial advisor because I think too
- 11:08Speaker 3: many people are always like, oh my gosh, like, yeah,
- 11:10Speaker 3: I've really got to cut back, and the first thing
- 11:12Speaker 3: they do is cut that coffee, and you're like, no,
- 11:14Speaker 3: that's not going to save you nearly enough to create
- 11:17Speaker 3: the lifestyle you want. We need to actually do a
- 11:19Speaker 3: bit more than that. So normalized coffee.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Trad all right, we have normalized spending with guilty pleasures.
- 11:24Speaker 2: We're going to save you money next with money matters.
- 11:26Speaker 2: If you're struggling with some cash flow, you got yourself
- 11:28Speaker 2: in a bit of situation, you need some advice. Hit
- 11:31Speaker 2: us up at She's on the Money socials this week,
- 11:33Speaker 2: eleven year old Ben. He wants some advice on getting
- 11:36Speaker 2: into the stock market. That's coming up next on the
- 11:38Speaker 2: She's on the Money radio show.
- 11:42Speaker 1: She's on the Money Radio show.
- 11:46Speaker 4: With Victoria Divine.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Each week we're going to bring somebody's financial story on it.
- 11:53Speaker 2: We want to get your advice, Victoria on what they
- 11:56Speaker 2: should do, because you're.
- 11:58Speaker 4: The expert here.
- 11:58Speaker 2: I have tricked you a well, hopefully you're not going
- 12:02Speaker 2: to trick eleven year old Ben who sent us this message.
- 12:05Speaker 3: I'm eleven and I've been saving up and I want
- 12:07Speaker 3: to know how to buy five hundred dollars worth of shares?
- 12:09Speaker 3: How do I do it? And what type should I buy? Okay,
- 12:11Speaker 3: first of all, that's so wholesome.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Yeah, that's at eleven.
- 12:15Speaker 5: I wasn't even allowed to use a toaster, let alone
- 12:17Speaker 5: call into a radio show.
- 12:18Speaker 2: I didn't even have five dollars, let alone five hundred eleven.
- 12:22Speaker 3: I got my kettle license, and I thought that was
- 12:24Speaker 3: really big kettle. My parents are going to be listening
- 12:27Speaker 3: to this laughing. It was so that you could safely
- 12:30Speaker 3: use the kettle because Mum and dad wanted tea and
- 12:33Speaker 3: coffee in bed.
- 12:34Speaker 4: Oh my god, that's genius. That's a money save a tip.
- 12:38Speaker 4: That's very smart.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Anyway, Victoria, what should Ben do? Who wants to invest
- 12:41Speaker 2: five hundred bucks in the stock market?
- 12:42Speaker 4: Look?
- 12:43Speaker 3: First, thing first, that is impressive. I don't know where
- 12:45Speaker 3: he got five hundred bucks. Do we have to talk
- 12:47Speaker 3: about child slave labor? Let's maybe not. Let's just assume
- 12:51Speaker 3: then he seemed happy. Let's assume he's been holding all
- 12:53Speaker 3: his Birthday and Christmas money and gifts from family and friends,
- 12:56Speaker 3: all right, So then there are lots and lots of options,
- 13:00Speaker 3: and I think the first thing is to think about
- 13:01Speaker 3: what you actually want to achieve, and is it buying
- 13:04Speaker 3: something in the future. Is it when you get to
- 13:06Speaker 3: eighteen buying a car? Is it actually when you're thirty
- 13:09Speaker 3: five or maybe even sixty at this rate and buying
- 13:11Speaker 3: your first home? Is it retirement?
- 13:13Speaker 4: Like?
- 13:13Speaker 3: What are we doing? Am I talking to an eleven
- 13:16Speaker 3: year old about retirement? This is so sex I.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Wish Ben was on the line to tell you all
- 13:20Speaker 2: about his retirement needs and want.
- 13:22Speaker 4: I'm sure he's got a long, long list retirement.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Guys, he's probably more prepared than both of you combined.
- 13:27Speaker 3: But that is so true. So there's heaps of ways
- 13:29Speaker 3: he could invest. A very popular way for young people
- 13:33Speaker 3: to invest if you're under eighteen is to either buy
- 13:36Speaker 3: an investment bond because there's lots of tax implications we
- 13:39Speaker 3: need to take into consideration, or an ETF, which is
- 13:42Speaker 3: an exchange traded fund, which is a bucket of shares
- 13:45Speaker 3: so you don't have to pick them directly and worry
- 13:48Speaker 3: too much. But Ben, I would be having a chat
- 13:50Speaker 3: with your parents because kids actually have a really high
- 13:53Speaker 3: marginal tax rate. It might not be the best thing
- 13:55Speaker 3: to do because you might end up getting a little
- 13:58Speaker 3: bit shot in the foot.
- 13:59Speaker 5: Wait, he could use his parents to invest the money
- 14:02Speaker 5: so he doesn't get tax.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Yeah, there are lots of platforms that allow you to
- 14:05Speaker 3: sign up and then actually have a children's account where
- 14:08Speaker 3: they can manage it and have a look at it
- 14:09Speaker 3: and run it. But it actually sits under the parents
- 14:12Speaker 3: tax will income.
- 14:14Speaker 5: He says he wants to get into the stock market.
- 14:15Speaker 5: He is ad a good idea at eleven.
- 14:17Speaker 3: Look, I love the idea. I hope that when I
- 14:19Speaker 3: have an eleven year old they are as keen on
- 14:22Speaker 3: getting into the stock market because when I was eleven again,
- 14:24Speaker 3: kettle license was my priority. But the power here, let's
- 14:28Speaker 3: just seep out the money smart compound interest calculator, because
- 14:31Speaker 3: that's my favorite thing.
- 14:32Speaker 4: In the end, I love what you have that ready
- 14:33Speaker 4: to go at all times.
- 14:34Speaker 3: I do. I'm ready. But his initial deposit of five
- 14:38Speaker 3: hundred bucks, if he didn't add a dollar to it,
- 14:40Speaker 3: didn't even think about it. Yeah, by the time he retires,
- 14:43Speaker 3: that's twenty one thousand dollars. Wow, by not touching it,
- 14:47Speaker 3: So five hundred bucks twenty one grand.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Just putting five hundred bucks into an account and leaving it.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Yep, he's crazy exactly. But then imagine so if he
- 14:55Speaker 3: added fifty bucks a month to it, So maybe mum
- 14:58Speaker 3: and dad added fifty bucks a month and birthday money
- 15:01Speaker 3: very money. Yeah, maybe he has a rich uncle or something.
- 15:03Speaker 3: Maybe if he added fifty bucks a month to his
- 15:06Speaker 3: five hundred, he'd have three hundred and forty nine thousand.
- 15:09Speaker 3: What you're my small house with that?
- 15:11Speaker 2: Oh my god, three hundred and fifty k is out
- 15:14Speaker 2: of control.
- 15:14Speaker 3: I think it is wild. I won't go on and
- 15:16Speaker 3: on about it because I have a whole show for
- 15:18Speaker 3: the rest of the year to go in and on about.
- 15:20Speaker 4: Yeah, good tips for Benny.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Great idea.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Hey, if you've got a question you want Victoria to answer,
- 15:24Speaker 2: hit us up on our socials right now, just search
- 15:26Speaker 2: She's on the Money and coming up next, we're going
- 15:28Speaker 2: to do Super Savior Saturday. Guys, Victoria, you're going to
- 15:30Speaker 2: give us some sneaky tips on how to keep more
- 15:33Speaker 2: bucks in your bank account.
- 15:35Speaker 5: This is she's on the Money radio show since the
- 15:38Speaker 5: Savers Saturday. Yeah, Super Savers Saturday is that's when Victoria,
- 15:42Speaker 5: you give us a little money saving tips that aren't
- 15:44Speaker 5: full of like actual jargon compound savings and you know
- 15:48Speaker 5: sees end of day, all those business.
- 15:50Speaker 3: Toos'll say it's my favorite part of the week. But
- 15:53Speaker 3: it's not because you guys told me I can't talk
- 15:55Speaker 3: about anything I actually want to talk about. It has
- 15:57Speaker 3: to be like fluffier money tips that you think people
- 15:59Speaker 3: will all like. So, I've tried really hard this week
- 16:02Speaker 3: and I spent twenty one hundred bucks on return flights
- 16:05Speaker 3: to London, and I think that's a money win you.
- 16:07Speaker 5: Oh my god, that is how much they normally you
- 16:10Speaker 5: can get flights to lighter that night.
- 16:11Speaker 3: Four grand, right, so expensive. I've been looking and the
- 16:15Speaker 3: average seems to be for the good time. Obviously, you
- 16:18Speaker 3: could fly at like a really terrible time and have
- 16:20Speaker 3: like a twenty four hour layover in like dollar or
- 16:23Speaker 3: something where you don't yeah, no, thank you. I feel
- 16:26Speaker 3: like they're about thirty two hundred at the moment, So
- 16:28Speaker 3: I feel like I saved a thousand bucks. That's pretty
- 16:30Speaker 3: good money.
- 16:31Speaker 2: That's like it had to do it.
- 16:32Speaker 4: What did you do is spreadsheet things?
- 16:34Speaker 3: Yeah, now I've got to out myself and tell you
- 16:36Speaker 3: that I made a spreadsheet and I downloaded an algorithm
- 16:38Speaker 3: that I stole from someone else to put flight costs
- 16:42Speaker 3: from other places to work out what time of the
- 16:44Speaker 3: week was the best time to buy flights, and Richie
- 16:46Speaker 3: reached our producer not his real name. He told me
- 16:50Speaker 3: that Tuesday nights are the best time to buy flights.
- 16:52Speaker 3: But I trust nobody, so I had to do all
- 16:54Speaker 3: of this to work out the Tuesday nights were actually
- 16:56Speaker 3: the best time to buy flights at about eight pm.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Wow, he was right.
- 17:01Speaker 3: I'm not going to say that. I'm sure he heard
- 17:03Speaker 3: that from someone else.
- 17:04Speaker 5: Wait, do you think that's because people are, like, you know,
- 17:06Speaker 5: normal people wait till the weekend or Friday night or
- 17:08Speaker 5: their last minute, so they do it at the end
- 17:10Speaker 5: of the week or like the night before they're flying.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Why yeah, I think so. Like usually it's Friday or
- 17:14Speaker 3: Saturday night. Like heye, trap, you can book a holiday together.
- 17:17Speaker 3: Why don't you come over for a wine and we'll
- 17:18Speaker 3: get all locked in on a Friday or a Saturday.
- 17:21Speaker 3: I reckon, that's peak time.
- 17:22Speaker 2: I was going to ask how your partner, Steve would
- 17:24Speaker 2: feel about that.
- 17:24Speaker 3: But he would love you. You can come over for
- 17:26Speaker 3: dinner whenever you want.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Thank you, Thank you, guys.
- 17:29Speaker 4: I'll be dropping to just like, provide the food or.
- 17:31Speaker 2: You're not invited made, don't worry about it. Oh yeah, Victoria.
- 17:34Speaker 2: During the song, you were telling us about cookies as
- 17:36Speaker 2: well or something, and.
- 17:37Speaker 5: I got very excited because when I hear cookies, my
- 17:39Speaker 5: ears perk up.
- 17:39Speaker 3: But it was I did bring cookies for everyone this morning, Yeah,
- 17:43Speaker 3: Carra Milk cookies. Yeah, one hundred percent local bakery made them.
- 17:48Speaker 2: You're welcome, gorgeous, but a good globe.
- 17:51Speaker 3: But cookies are really important when it comes to flights
- 17:53Speaker 3: because cookies are the thing that tracks you around the internet,
- 17:56Speaker 3: and flight companies they truck you around the Internet. So
- 17:59Speaker 3: if you've Google called flights, they know you've done it.
- 18:01Speaker 3: So when you go to book, they'll just add a
- 18:03Speaker 3: couple of hundred bucks to the sale price and you'll
- 18:05Speaker 3: be like criminal, Yeah, but you'll be like, oh my gosh,
- 18:08Speaker 3: I'll just pay it, like we've just got to look
- 18:10Speaker 3: it in before it goes up anymore. So my other
- 18:12Speaker 3: hot tip is to use a device that you haven't
- 18:15Speaker 3: ever looked up flights on before. And so on Tuesday
- 18:18Speaker 3: when I booked, I went and got my partner's laptop
- 18:20Speaker 3: and booked on that, which meant that we got super
- 18:23Speaker 3: cheap flights and it was two weeks before. So if
- 18:28Speaker 3: that's not a money win, I don't know what is
- 18:30Speaker 3: money win.
- 18:30Speaker 4: Baby, that's a super saf a Saturday money win.
- 18:32Speaker 2: All Right, the show's not getting any better than that guy,
- 18:34Speaker 2: so let's get out while they say we're on a
- 18:36Speaker 2: height see next week. Do you guys, who's Denny?
- 18:39Speaker 5: If she's on The Money Radio Show with Victoria Devine.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Hear it on the catch Up podcast on iHeartRadio
