- 0:03Speaker 1: She's on The Money Radio Show with Victoria Divine starts now,
- 0:10Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to that. She's on The Money Radio
- 0:13Speaker 1: Show podcast, the podcast for millennials who want financial freedom?
- 0:17Speaker 2: Who are you? You're gotta get right. I'm so proud of
- 0:19Speaker 2: you than you.
- 0:20Speaker 1: You know what, I've actually got some money little tidbits
- 0:23Speaker 1: for you. I don't probably, yeah, I really don't what.
- 0:26Speaker 3: I've brought some in the show trap and I'll be honest,
- 0:28Speaker 3: it felt very sponsored.
- 0:31Speaker 1: No, this isn't.
- 0:32Speaker 4: This is like fun to disclaimer whenever your sponsored.
- 0:35Speaker 2: I wish I was going to send the Internet police
- 0:38Speaker 2: after you.
- 0:39Speaker 1: I have never been sponsored with anything in my life.
- 0:42Speaker 2: So please have you actually you want some sponsorships?
- 0:44Speaker 1: I would love please do. This is fun facts though
- 0:48Speaker 1: I'm talking like, do you know why it's called a cent?
- 0:51Speaker 1: Like why CeNSE are called sense? Noah, do you know
- 0:56Speaker 1: why it's called a cent?
- 0:56Speaker 2: I have no idea.
- 0:57Speaker 1: It's because it's a percentee of a dollar. So, oh
- 1:01Speaker 1: my god, twenty.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Six I'm embarrassed to be me right now. I am
- 1:06Speaker 4: meant to know this stuff that's.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Actually really true? Did you know that I didn't know
- 1:10Speaker 3: that that's really that is actually your fags are normally
- 1:14Speaker 3: shit out.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Yeah, that's actually he started to bring some really good
- 1:18Speaker 2: stuff to the table.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Maybe we should go back to hr and tell him
- 1:21Speaker 4: not to fire in.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Yeah, let's go.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Consent.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Yeah you know what, I've actually got one more on
- 1:28Speaker 1: the same kind of trend as that. So do you
- 1:31Speaker 1: know why they called notes? As in like when you
- 1:34Speaker 1: get a ten dollar note or a twenty dollar note
- 1:37Speaker 1: Back in the day, you used to get paid with gold,
- 1:40Speaker 1: but they didn't have enough gold to distribute to pay people,
- 1:43Speaker 1: so that was like an IOU note for two. So
- 1:47Speaker 1: there you go. So then they just became notes.
- 1:50Speaker 4: So I don't even need to be on this show
- 1:52Speaker 4: anymore because Trev knows more about money than I ever will.
- 1:55Speaker 1: I know useless fact about money. So that doesn't save
- 1:57Speaker 1: anybody anything. So that's where you are still why because
- 2:01Speaker 1: on today's radio show, you actually are going to tell
- 2:04Speaker 1: us how we can get three thousand bucks.
- 2:06Speaker 2: In it, how we can save three grand very easily.
- 2:09Speaker 1: I'd probably say like, hey, do you want three grand?
- 2:12Speaker 2: That's a good way to make people listen.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Hey, that's what's called a hook in the radio.
- 2:15Speaker 4: Yeah, that's why I'm not very good at radio and
- 2:18Speaker 4: that's why when I got invited on the radio, they
- 2:20Speaker 4: said that I could only do it with you guys,
- 2:23Speaker 4: I need a supervision.
- 2:24Speaker 1: We needed you've got this, like you don't have your
- 2:26Speaker 1: pen license yet.
- 2:28Speaker 4: I never got my pen license, to see. I was
- 2:31Speaker 4: still salty about it. Well, I'm a lefty and I
- 2:33Speaker 4: used to smudge everything and my handwriting was atrocious, like
- 2:37Speaker 4: so bad that my mum enrolled me in an after
- 2:40Speaker 4: school calligraphy writing course when I was in like Gride
- 2:44Speaker 4: five and six because my writing was well, my handwriting
- 2:48Speaker 4: was illegible.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Now it's legible. It's good.
- 2:50Speaker 4: But I wouldn't you wouldn't look at my handwriting and
- 2:52Speaker 4: be like, wow, she did a class for this.
- 2:54Speaker 1: I used to have to cut things out in my
- 2:56Speaker 1: spare time because I was like, absolutely shocking at cutting
- 2:59Speaker 1: with scissors.
- 3:00Speaker 4: Oh you needed a little I was also shocking at scissors. Again,
- 3:03Speaker 4: lefty comes to the table. I could never cut with scissors.
- 3:07Speaker 4: So now I cut with my right hand so I
- 3:08Speaker 4: can tell people I man be dexterous.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Yeah, very nice?
- 3:12Speaker 3: Is that?
- 3:12Speaker 5: Why? Yeah? Hey you good?
- 3:14Speaker 1: Just a quick thing because we save people a lot
- 3:17Speaker 1: of money. What's something crazy and done that you bought
- 3:19Speaker 1: this week, Victoria.
- 3:20Speaker 2: I haven't made any crazy or dumpers.
- 3:22Speaker 1: It's okay, get that little she's on the Money. I'm
- 3:25Speaker 1: such a no no, no.
- 3:27Speaker 2: No no. Literally, I haven't had time to remember.
- 3:30Speaker 4: I told you I bought a dress on Facebook marketplace
- 3:32Speaker 4: of fifty bucks.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Fifty Yeah, that was in the show.
- 3:35Speaker 3: I was really happy I made too dump me if
- 3:38Speaker 3: you want to see can you can you see me? So?
- 3:41Speaker 3: I bought a vintage typewriter.
- 3:44Speaker 2: What are you doing on a spy?
- 3:46Speaker 3: It inspired Logitech keyboard? Look of those asm.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Oh that's kind of cool.
- 3:51Speaker 4: There's all these as videos on TikTok of people like
- 3:55Speaker 4: looking out of the boards.
- 3:57Speaker 5: This is the keyboard.
- 3:58Speaker 3: This is me typing. I'm gonna take Victoria divine is sexy.
- 4:04Speaker 2: That was terrible. You can just stop there.
- 4:06Speaker 1: It just sounds like a regular keyboard.
- 4:08Speaker 2: It just sounds like a keyboard. I was really excited,
- 4:10Speaker 2: like a sound like three hundred dollars. This is really terrible.
- 4:22Speaker 1: All right. This is she's on the Money radio show. Enjoy.
- 4:26Speaker 5: This is she's on the Money radio show.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Right now. We want to talk about should you be
- 4:30Speaker 1: working for free? So you know, one of the former
- 4:33Speaker 1: Playboy bunnies Holy Madison. Of course you would, Victoria.
- 4:38Speaker 3: What do you mean, of course me, because I'm very
- 4:41Speaker 3: interested in Playboy culture. I love the mansion, and I
- 4:44Speaker 3: think the women do very well with what they wear
- 4:46Speaker 3: and their hair looks very nice all the time. I'm interested.
- 4:48Speaker 1: I was going to say, because of these girls of
- 4:50Speaker 1: the Playboy Mansion, that kind of feels like a show
- 4:52Speaker 1: back in the two thousands.
- 4:54Speaker 4: Back in the two thousands, my mum never would have
- 4:56Speaker 4: let me watch that. I wasn't even allowed to watch
- 4:58Speaker 4: The Simpsons at home track that was banned.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Well, for those of you who don't know, it was
- 5:02Speaker 1: this reality show where the founder of Playboy magazine, Hugh Hefner,
- 5:06Speaker 1: lived with these three girlfriends in the Playboy Match. Now
- 5:10Speaker 1: you'd think they'd be making heaps of money for that, right, Yeah.
- 5:13Speaker 4: I mean, if I had to move into the house
- 5:15Speaker 4: of arguably a dirty old man, I would argue that
- 5:18Speaker 4: there had to be a lot of money involved, like otherwise,
- 5:21Speaker 4: why are there.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Well, she's actually come out and said this.
- 5:23Speaker 6: Wasn't until I was talking to have secretary Mary O'Connor.
- 5:27Speaker 6: And you know, you want to look cute for the show,
- 5:29Speaker 6: so you're buying clothes for the scenes, and after we
- 5:31Speaker 6: shot about four or five episodes, I showed her my
- 5:33Speaker 6: receipts and I'm like, you know, we're spending money to
- 5:35Speaker 6: be on the show, and she was like, Okay, this
- 5:37Speaker 6: isn't right. So finally she got on the phone with
- 5:38Speaker 6: somebody and we ended up getting paid.
- 5:40Speaker 3: So many people work for free or work for the
- 5:44Speaker 3: opportunity or the illusion of opportunity, right.
- 5:46Speaker 2: I see.
- 5:47Speaker 4: This is something that really grinds my gears because as
- 5:50Speaker 4: a very big part.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Of the She's on the Money community.
- 5:52Speaker 4: I talk to people all the time who do work
- 5:55Speaker 4: for free or they're trying to cut their teeth in
- 5:57Speaker 4: a certain industry, and I feel like there's a special
- 6:00Speaker 4: balance between working for free and then also working and
- 6:04Speaker 4: getting experience, because you know, I've done my fair share
- 6:08Speaker 4: of free work over the years. Like I feel you're happy, Yeah,
- 6:11Speaker 4: I feel like we all have because we get afforded
- 6:14Speaker 4: some opportunities. But looking back on it, some of them,
- 6:17Speaker 4: I'm like, that was so great the network I got
- 6:19Speaker 4: out of that was absolutely epic, Like that was a
- 6:22Speaker 4: stepping stone into the next thing.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Whereas one of them, I'm.
- 6:25Speaker 4: Like, ah, I think I was slave labor, Like, I'm
- 6:29Speaker 4: pretty sure they just tired me as a quote. In turn,
- 6:32Speaker 4: I walked away having learnt nothing. But for twelve weeks
- 6:35Speaker 4: I did all their filing and scanning. And it's like, well,
- 6:37Speaker 4: where is the line when it comes to what you
- 6:39Speaker 4: should and shouldn't.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Get paid for?
- 6:41Speaker 4: Because it really grinds my gears when I hear people,
- 6:43Speaker 4: especially in my community, who are like, I'm.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Working for free.
- 6:46Speaker 4: At the moment, I'm like, Okay, what are you getting
- 6:49Speaker 4: out of it?
- 6:49Speaker 2: How does this work?
- 6:50Speaker 3: Oh my god, I've done I've been in radio for
- 6:52Speaker 3: eight years this year, right, almost a decade, and I
- 6:54Speaker 3: think I'm not even embellishing. I think I've done more
- 6:57Speaker 3: free work than i've done paid work. Radio has taken
- 7:00Speaker 3: me for a ride, especially in the early days. But
- 7:02Speaker 3: I mean, look, I'm sitting here with Victoria divided a
- 7:05Speaker 3: chanel bags on the desk, So.
- 7:06Speaker 2: It's all right, cut that out. We don't need to
- 7:08Speaker 2: help me publicly, if.
- 7:09Speaker 1: That's all right, you can't cut knock.
- 7:15Speaker 3: No. But like it has paid off. I mean when
- 7:17Speaker 3: I first started, I was of the firm belief that
- 7:19Speaker 3: I will work for free the opportunity it's going to
- 7:21Speaker 3: get me where I want to get. I'm going to
- 7:23Speaker 3: hit my goals. But now I've flipped, I've changed, and
- 7:25Speaker 3: then if you want me to work, you're going to
- 7:27Speaker 3: have to pay me at the end of the day.
- 7:28Speaker 3: Like you said, it's a bit of slave labor, right.
- 7:30Speaker 3: There are plenty of jobs out there that'll pay you.
- 7:32Speaker 4: Yeah, but it's also kind of where you want to
- 7:34Speaker 4: go and what you want to be. And I'm not
- 7:36Speaker 4: advocating that everyone works for free, because I mean, we
- 7:38Speaker 4: need to probably do a little check in here and go.
- 7:40Speaker 4: That's a really privileged thing to be able to do,
- 7:43Speaker 4: and I know that so many people aren't in that situation.
- 7:46Speaker 4: You might be listening going, oh, V, like, what are
- 7:48Speaker 4: you talking about working for free?
- 7:49Speaker 2: I have three kids, I'm single, mum.
- 7:51Speaker 4: I want to be in that industry, But I can't
- 7:53Speaker 4: go and work for free for forty.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Hours a week, you joke?
- 7:57Speaker 4: Do you know what? There are some things that I
- 7:59Speaker 4: would do for free for the experience, But then it's
- 8:01Speaker 4: also like you've got a way up the actual experience
- 8:05Speaker 4: versus am I just doing it because they have a
- 8:06Speaker 4: brand name and they're going to make me do all
- 8:08Speaker 4: the filing and scanning because.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Hard note For me, I think a good way to
- 8:10Speaker 1: look at it is you know you're going to have
- 8:12Speaker 1: to do a job that's going to pay the bills.
- 8:14Speaker 1: But if you want to do something you're passionate about
- 8:16Speaker 1: and something you want to build into your career, then
- 8:19Speaker 1: maybe find a way where you can do four or
- 8:21Speaker 1: five days full time work and then maybe on the
- 8:23Speaker 1: weekends or one night a week, do a couple of
- 8:25Speaker 1: hours in a field that you want to build into
- 8:27Speaker 1: your career so you can afford to still pay your bills,
- 8:31Speaker 1: but then get that experience, and then once you've got
- 8:33Speaker 1: that experience, there might be something that comes up that.
- 8:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Also it's risk versus reward, right guys, And like renumeration
- 8:39Speaker 3: versus opportunity, Like you've got to balance everything. Like if
- 8:41Speaker 3: the local fruit shop is saying, hey, come over and
- 8:44Speaker 3: you can pick us some tomatoes. It's free, though we
- 8:46Speaker 3: won't pay you you go. Maybe there's nothing in that.
- 8:48Speaker 3: Maybe a part of the strawberries at the end of
- 8:49Speaker 3: the ship for free, but there's not much in that.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Lettuce. If you get lettuce, that is a big investment.
- 8:54Speaker 3: If you get that off art, take it run.
- 8:56Speaker 4: I feel like I've always learned more on my jobs
- 8:58Speaker 4: than I ever have at Union too, as someone who's
- 9:01Speaker 4: done an exorbitant amount of study. It's a fickle conversation
- 9:04Speaker 4: where you go, should you get paid, shouldn't you get paid?
- 9:06Speaker 4: And I think that's a decision you need to make.
- 9:08Speaker 4: But I don't think anyone should ever be bullied into
- 9:11Speaker 4: the idea that, oh you have to cut your teeth
- 9:13Speaker 4: by doing free work, Like, if it's not aligned to
- 9:15Speaker 4: your values, don't do it.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Agreed. And the happy news is Holy Madison now worth
- 9:20Speaker 1: sixteen million dollars.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Well that's insane. Sixteen million dollars. Oh, maybe I would
- 9:26Speaker 4: live with that guy.
- 9:26Speaker 5: Then this is She's on the Money radio show.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Let's tell some people they are dream dream.
- 9:36Speaker 2: I love this for us, but this segment.
- 9:38Speaker 4: If you've been scrolling through Facebook Marketplace looking for a bargain,
- 9:42Speaker 4: often you discover some things that you kind of wish
- 9:44Speaker 4: you hadn't. So this week we are going to be
- 9:46Speaker 4: throwing a few listings under the bus, and all three
- 9:48Speaker 4: of us have had to troll Facebook Marketplace to come
- 9:51Speaker 4: up with a few of the best things that we
- 9:53Speaker 4: think people are, you know, kind of dreaming about.
- 9:56Speaker 2: So Trev Roebuck, what have you got for us?
- 9:59Speaker 3: I reckon, you can go the most cooked one.
- 10:01Speaker 4: I'm asking him to go first, Mitch, because you're just
- 10:04Speaker 4: like giggling to himself looking at the screenshot he's got
- 10:06Speaker 4: on his phone that he's brought.
- 10:08Speaker 3: That's creepy. You can't do that. H is just around
- 10:10Speaker 3: the corner and Victoria, and I am not afraid to
- 10:12Speaker 3: take you there straight.
- 10:13Speaker 1: I've still got two more strikes, guys, so I'm golden.
- 10:17Speaker 1: I'm just laughing. Because you know Mentos obviously, those little
- 10:19Speaker 1: tiny packets that you get.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Well, yeah, there's free Mentos in reception.
- 10:24Speaker 1: It's like a fish bowl for Yeah, I'm going to
- 10:26Speaker 1: go trawling for an orange one because apparently this is
- 10:30Speaker 1: in Sydney, right, a Orange Mentos empty packet, so they've eaten. Yeah,
- 10:38Speaker 1: if they say it's a limited edition, but how much
- 10:41Speaker 1: would you pay for an orange limited edition mentossless Mentos packets?
- 10:46Speaker 2: I wouldn't. I'd put it in the bitch.
- 10:48Speaker 5: I try.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Maybe they're like.
- 10:50Speaker 4: Reduced reuse, recycle, and they're like.
- 10:52Speaker 3: I haven't seen the orange Victoria. I've never seen an
- 10:54Speaker 3: orange one.
- 10:55Speaker 1: I have you know?
- 10:56Speaker 2: How well it's limited edition? You should have done something.
- 10:58Speaker 1: About that I was going to say, maybe if you
- 11:00Speaker 1: throw it in the bin, I'm going to go pick
- 11:01Speaker 1: it out. Because they're saying that it's one thousand.
- 11:06Speaker 4: No, no, it's not absolutely.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Not absolute bargain because apparently it retails for nine million,
- 11:13Speaker 1: ninety nine downs, nine hundred ninety people are being silk
- 11:19Speaker 1: What about you, Mitch Jury.
- 11:20Speaker 3: This is interesting and it really needs to be seen
- 11:22Speaker 3: to be believed. It is a I'll just give I
- 11:25Speaker 3: can't really beat around the bush with this. I'm going
- 11:27Speaker 3: to read the title straight as it's written. Realistic cat
- 11:30Speaker 3: Toy Backpack, masterpiece and functional backpack. What So. What it
- 11:34Speaker 3: is is like a taxiderm in cat. No real cat,
- 11:39Speaker 3: it says, this realistic cat toy backpack. So it's emulating
- 11:43Speaker 3: a real cat, but it's fur, it's got to head,
- 11:45Speaker 3: it's got a tail, and it's got straps on it.
- 11:48Speaker 3: It says, You're most used essentials fit right in to
- 11:51Speaker 3: the realistic cat pack, gray or white or black.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Wow.
- 11:55Speaker 3: So they're making them, they can get them manufactured. How
- 11:57Speaker 3: much would you play?
- 11:59Speaker 1: Hope?
- 12:00Speaker 4: So?
- 12:00Speaker 1: And I hope they're not just searching.
- 12:01Speaker 4: For that pet person that's so creepy.
- 12:04Speaker 1: I reckon seventy five bucks.
- 12:06Speaker 4: No, I reckon like they're trying to get thousands of
- 12:08Speaker 4: this stuff. Like before the Mentos packet was one thousand dollars,
- 12:11Speaker 4: So I'm going to say like two or three thousand dollars.
- 12:13Speaker 3: Two hundred dollars.
- 12:14Speaker 4: Oh wow, barg augain much cheaper than I thought.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Maybe I will buy one. After all, let's.
- 12:21Speaker 3: All get one and we can all have shoes on
- 12:23Speaker 3: the money. Pa.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Wow yuck. All right, Well I've brought to the table too.
- 12:28Speaker 4: I actually in true she's on the money style. I
- 12:31Speaker 4: have a money win for you, guys. I've bought a
- 12:33Speaker 4: dress this week on Facebook marketplace. No seamless process. Yeah,
- 12:37Speaker 4: actually worked truly well, three hundred and fifty dollars dress.
- 12:39Speaker 2: It's been worn once. I picked it up to.
- 12:41Speaker 3: Two wash bucks.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I have washed it.
- 12:43Speaker 4: I actually dropped it to the dry cleaner because I
- 12:46Speaker 4: have an event that I'm speaking at tomorrow for Dimmicks
- 12:48Speaker 4: for my new book that's coming out.
- 12:50Speaker 2: I'm going to wear it.
- 12:50Speaker 4: Fifty dollars dress, money win worthway more so, that's really good.
- 12:54Speaker 4: But while looking for my fifty dollar dress, I found
- 12:57Speaker 4: some used rollless skates.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Guys.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Oh, I'd be.
- 13:01Speaker 1: More not that wild if they weren't used.
- 13:03Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, but like that doesn't seem that crazy to
- 13:05Speaker 4: put on Facebook marketplace. But they're the bottom of two
- 13:09Speaker 4: desk chairs and two gum boots strapped together with some
- 13:13Speaker 4: duct tape. How much would you spend on some use
- 13:18Speaker 4: roller skates if you would like them? They are listed
- 13:20Speaker 4: here in Melbourne? What would you spend on some used
- 13:23Speaker 4: roller skates?
- 13:23Speaker 2: Guys?
- 13:24Speaker 1: Oh? Twenty bucks?
- 13:25Speaker 4: No, absolutely not. It's Mitch's favorite number. Sixty nine bucks.
- 13:28Speaker 4: W Yeah, sixty nine bucks.
- 13:30Speaker 3: Guys bad pay sixty nine bucks in petrol just to
- 13:32Speaker 3: drive to their house and knock them over their head.
- 13:35Speaker 2: I live down here in Melbourne, so I pick them
- 13:36Speaker 2: up for you.
- 13:37Speaker 4: But also, if you're seeing something bizarre on Facebook Marketplace,
- 13:41Speaker 4: please feel free to make our jobs even easier by
- 13:44Speaker 4: sending it to us.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Flick it on over, do a friend a deal.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Yeah, we don't want to do any more work.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Yeah, give us a hand. We don't work. Work smarter,
- 13:52Speaker 2: not harder.
- 13:52Speaker 5: Track this is She's on the Money radio show.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Hey, coming up soon, Victoria. You're gonna let everyone know
- 13:58Speaker 1: how they can get them. So an extra three thousand
- 14:01Speaker 1: dollars for literally doing nothing, but right now, let's do this.
- 14:06Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Every week we bring someone's financial story on here to
- 14:08Speaker 3: get Victoria's advice on what they should do. How are
- 14:11Speaker 3: you feeling? You're feeling? You in a positive mindset this
- 14:13Speaker 3: Saturday morning, Victoria?
- 14:15Speaker 4: Are you I'd been in a more positive mindset if
- 14:18Speaker 4: you guys would actually share this story with me so
- 14:20Speaker 4: I knew what we're commenting on, that would be good.
- 14:23Speaker 1: What's the funny in that we like to throw it
- 14:24Speaker 1: down to you? How good you are to keep you quick?
- 14:26Speaker 4: Yeah? Yeah, look, I appreciate how much you guys care,
- 14:30Speaker 4: but as a very type a human being, I really
- 14:33Speaker 4: like to come prepared. So you're doing me a disservice.
- 14:36Speaker 4: But that's okay. Let's get into it.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Anna has sent this into the Shoes on the money
- 14:39Speaker 3: Facebook group. She says, I'm twenty five and my partner
- 14:42Speaker 3: is thirty two. Bit of an age gap. He hasn't
- 14:44Speaker 3: worked since we've been together for over two years. Red flags.
- 14:47Speaker 3: I've supported him financially. Red flag number two. We burn
- 14:51Speaker 3: through my savings during lockdown and now I live with
- 14:54Speaker 3: my parents but still can't seem to save money. A
- 14:57Speaker 3: third red flag. I work in study full time and
- 15:00Speaker 3: earn more money than I ever have spend less than
- 15:02Speaker 3: ever before, but I still have nothing to show for it.
- 15:05Speaker 3: Anytime he needs money, I just give it to him
- 15:08Speaker 3: because I feel bad. Oh my god. It doesn't seem
- 15:11Speaker 3: like he treats money the same way I do and
- 15:13Speaker 3: makes a lot of impulse buys that he ropes me into.
- 15:16Speaker 1: That's because it's free for him, because yeah, he doesn't,
- 15:18Speaker 1: it's not his money gets lose.
- 15:20Speaker 3: He very much lives in the present and doesn't think
- 15:22Speaker 3: about the future. Before him, I had enough savings for
- 15:25Speaker 3: a deposit for a house. Now I hardly have any
- 15:29Speaker 3: just enough to get by. How can I change this
- 15:31Speaker 3: situation and set boundaries without hurting him? I think we're
- 15:35Speaker 3: all thinking the same thing, getting rid of him the guy.
- 15:39Speaker 4: All right, No, that's not on. That's actually really sad.
- 15:43Speaker 4: And you know what, we don't know both sides of
- 15:45Speaker 4: that story. He could be really sick and maybe not working.
- 15:48Speaker 4: So let's acknowledge that there's probably a lot of things
- 15:51Speaker 4: going on in the background that we're not privy too. However,
- 15:53Speaker 4: we're going to pretend those things don't exist and just
- 15:55Speaker 4: address the question at hand. And I think that that
- 15:59Speaker 4: is really hard, But I would be sitting down setting
- 16:02Speaker 4: some boundaries, like one, why aren't you working if you're
- 16:05Speaker 4: completely capable to do so? Why are you relying on
- 16:07Speaker 4: one individual to look after you unless there's some kind
- 16:11Speaker 4: of like you have a kid and he's the stay
- 16:12Speaker 4: at home parent, We're missing a piece of this puzzle.
- 16:15Speaker 4: None of this makes sense to me. I feel like
- 16:18Speaker 4: that's dead weight that's bringing you down. They're compromising your goals.
- 16:22Speaker 4: I feel like it's actually a really big lack of respect,
- 16:25Speaker 4: Like to do that to somebody else is just disrespectful.
- 16:28Speaker 4: And you might not see that in the moment when
- 16:29Speaker 4: you're in the relationship, but it genuinely is disrespectful to
- 16:33Speaker 4: put somebody else's goals and dreams and the things that
- 16:36Speaker 4: they're working towards on the back burner for so long
- 16:40Speaker 4: and not help them at all. Like, shouldn't partners be
- 16:43Speaker 4: supportive and kind and loving and wanting to contribute to
- 16:46Speaker 4: a relationship.
- 16:47Speaker 3: You should be collaborative, right, you should be like saving
- 16:50Speaker 3: up for goals that you have together.
- 16:51Speaker 4: It gives me the vibe that he's treating you like
- 16:54Speaker 4: a parent, not a partner. And do you want to
- 16:56Speaker 4: be in that relationship forever. Like, what if there are
- 16:58Speaker 4: bigger financial goals that you want, you want to buy
- 17:01Speaker 4: a house, you're not able to achieve it with him,
- 17:03Speaker 4: He then needs to pull his socks up or get out.
- 17:05Speaker 2: I reckon.
- 17:06Speaker 4: I just feel like there's a really big lack of
- 17:08Speaker 4: respect in this relationship. Not from your side, obviously you
- 17:11Speaker 4: respect him. However, from the other side, he's clearly taking
- 17:15Speaker 4: the absolute mickey when it comes to the way he's
- 17:17Speaker 4: living his life. And if you don't get him to
- 17:20Speaker 4: pull his socks up, why would he Why change if
- 17:22Speaker 4: you're living your dream right exactly exactly.
- 17:24Speaker 3: And I know it's hard to hear, but look at
- 17:26Speaker 3: the relationship. I don't know if it's worth it to
- 17:28Speaker 3: be perfectly honest or just play in this audio. Don't
- 17:30Speaker 3: break up with him. Oh my god, We'll send you
- 17:33Speaker 3: this audio. Put it on a USB and just play
- 17:34Speaker 3: it on a speaker and then run away.
- 17:36Speaker 4: Just yell real loud when we use your name.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Hey, if you've got a money dilemma you need solved,
- 17:41Speaker 1: hit us up on our socials. Just search She's on
- 17:43Speaker 1: the money. Here's a really good Super Savior Saturday tip
- 17:47Speaker 1: for you. Anna ditch the boyfriend, you will save yourself
- 17:49Speaker 1: a whole heap boom.
- 17:52Speaker 5: This is She's on the Money radio show.
- 17:54Speaker 1: Let's save some people some money by doing this.
- 17:59Speaker 3: Simper same a Saturday, all right. Every bloody week Victoria
- 18:02Speaker 3: gives us some sneaky tips on how to keep more
- 18:04Speaker 3: bucks in your bank account.
- 18:05Speaker 1: No, no, let me stop you right there, Mitch, don't
- 18:07Speaker 1: worry about Victoria because I've got a tip this week.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Oh you've got a tip.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I absolutely love will worse Everyday Rewards like I
- 18:15Speaker 1: will literally yeah, obsessed a shop at Cools.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Sorry I'm a Flybys boy.
- 18:19Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, sorry, We've got a resistent.
- 18:21Speaker 4: It's unrelatable content. Get off that show.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Very diverse. Look, don't you get snippy with me because
- 18:26Speaker 1: I'm taking your segment mate. Anyway, They've got this brandy thing.
- 18:29Speaker 1: I think it's called Everyday Extra. You pay either fifty
- 18:31Speaker 1: nine bucks as a one off fee, or you can
- 18:33Speaker 1: pay seven bucks a month. Not only do you get
- 18:36Speaker 1: three times the Everyday Rewards points at every single shop,
- 18:40Speaker 1: but you also get ten percent off one total shop
- 18:43Speaker 1: per month that you get to choose yourself as well.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Per month, per month, not like once a year.
- 18:48Speaker 1: No, per month plus ten percent off one total shop
- 18:52Speaker 1: that you choose at big W per month.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Oh right, that's really good, pretty good.
- 18:57Speaker 3: I love big Ws.
- 18:58Speaker 4: If you're doing a big shop, usually pick that one.
- 19:01Speaker 4: And that's a pretty nice discount because groceries are never
- 19:04Speaker 4: discounted that much unless they're like on sale. But can
- 19:07Speaker 4: you buy on sales stuff and still get the.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Discount anything you want? So basically anything you chuck in
- 19:11Speaker 1: your trolley not sponsored one, definitely not sponsored. Hit me
- 19:15Speaker 1: up bullies if you want actually give me more rewards points.
- 19:18Speaker 1: That's my payment that I'll take. But not only that,
- 19:20Speaker 1: you get yourself one free extra perk per month. So
- 19:24Speaker 1: I always buy this one yogurt and my perk last
- 19:27Speaker 1: month was one for free that was worth like seven bucks.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Do you see that?
- 19:31Speaker 4: Met She didn't drop the yogurt brand name because he's
- 19:33Speaker 4: not sponsored by them, just by wool. Yeah.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Anyway, that's my tip, But it's your segment, Victoria. So
- 19:39Speaker 1: what do you got?
- 19:40Speaker 4: All right? I've got a few of them for you
- 19:41Speaker 4: this week. Two of my tips involve bottles, very exciting.
- 19:46Speaker 4: The first one.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Is stop buying bottled water. Just cut it out. Honestly,
- 19:50Speaker 2: all the small things.
- 19:51Speaker 4: Add up and while I get it, sometimes a water
- 19:54Speaker 4: bottle doesn't fit in your handbag, and I get that
- 19:56Speaker 4: sometimes you're out, but let's try and be a little
- 19:59Speaker 4: bit more prepared. Because the other day I went to
- 20:01Speaker 4: the shops, I was shopping around and needed a bottle
- 20:04Speaker 4: of water, and I bought one. Please don't shame me
- 20:06Speaker 4: for that. Four dollars fifty.
- 20:07Speaker 1: What the hell, that's crazy.
- 20:08Speaker 2: That's the price of a coffee these days.
- 20:11Speaker 4: And I just feel like, given it's coming out of
- 20:13Speaker 4: the taps everywhere, if I was carrying a water bottle,
- 20:15Speaker 4: I could have topped it up. We're in a very
- 20:17Speaker 4: good country where the water is completely drinkable. To me,
- 20:20Speaker 4: that was an unnecessary purchase. And next time you go
- 20:22Speaker 4: to buy bottled water, I want you to think about
- 20:24Speaker 4: the same thing. The next tip I have is about
- 20:27Speaker 4: phone plans, because recently I downgraded my phone plan because
- 20:31Speaker 4: I looked at my usage and realized that even though
- 20:34Speaker 4: it was a very sexy package, it was like unlimited
- 20:36Speaker 4: data and unlimited call, I like, never use it all.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Everywhere I go.
- 20:40Speaker 4: I'm either at my office, at my home, or here
- 20:42Speaker 4: at the studio. All of these places have Wi Fi,
- 20:45Speaker 4: so I'm basically using no data, stripping it down save
- 20:48Speaker 4: me twenty bucks a month, honey win fair.
- 20:50Speaker 1: The best thing is, I think I can't remember who
- 20:52Speaker 1: it is one of the phone carriers. You can donate
- 20:54Speaker 1: the data that you don't use for good cold Yeah,
- 20:56Speaker 1: for someone I didn't know that aren't actually a four
- 20:58Speaker 1: data themselves, which is all.
- 21:00Speaker 2: I love that?
- 21:01Speaker 3: All right?
- 21:01Speaker 2: Do you want my other bottle tip?
- 21:03Speaker 4: This is gonna make you maybe three grand if you
- 21:05Speaker 4: really care for It's not about collecting bottles and taking
- 21:08Speaker 4: them to your recycling planks. Can't even do that in
- 21:11Speaker 4: our state, like in Victoria.
- 21:12Speaker 2: That's not a thing.
- 21:13Speaker 4: Hot tip if you can do that though, But this
- 21:15Speaker 4: one is about getting a coke bottle and doing the
- 21:19Speaker 4: coke bottle challenge. So coke bottle challenges where you put
- 21:23Speaker 4: a coke bottle at the front door whenever you come
- 21:25Speaker 4: in the front door.
- 21:26Speaker 2: If you've got.
- 21:26Speaker 4: Gold coins in your pocket, you pop them into the
- 21:29Speaker 4: coke bottle.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Like over a year, all the little things start to
- 21:33Speaker 2: add up.
- 21:34Speaker 4: If you had a six hundred meal coke bottle, do
- 21:36Speaker 4: you know how many two dollar coins fit in that? No?
- 21:38Speaker 2: Idea thousand dollars wat cheese?
- 21:40Speaker 4: If you had a one point two liter bottle nineteen
- 21:43Speaker 4: hundred dollars. If you had a two liter bottle, filled
- 21:46Speaker 4: that up with gold coins three grand.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Guys, what a money win. And over the long term,
- 21:51Speaker 2: that money, it.
- 21:52Speaker 4: Was just going to go to waste on things that
- 21:54Speaker 4: you were just going to throw money.
- 21:55Speaker 1: At water bottles.
- 21:56Speaker 4: Water bottles, you would have bought a coke, you would
- 21:58Speaker 4: have bought a pepsi, you would have gone bought a
- 22:00Speaker 4: bottle of water. Why not put all of those coins
- 22:03Speaker 4: to good use and start saving them. Who doesn't want
- 22:05Speaker 4: an extra three grand? That's a holiday to Barlei Mitch.
- 22:09Speaker 3: I was just going to say, my nen used to
- 22:11Speaker 3: do that, and she used to let usk the kids
- 22:13Speaker 3: come in and take a handful of gold coins. It
- 22:15Speaker 3: was so sweet.
- 22:16Speaker 2: My gosh, that is so sweet.
- 22:18Speaker 3: A shout out to Kissy Kolera, who is ninety three today,
- 22:20Speaker 3: Happy birthday, my grandma Kiss.
- 22:24Speaker 2: That's so sweet. I love her name. Is she proud
- 22:27Speaker 2: of the radio station listening here in Melbourne.
- 22:28Speaker 3: She goes to bed at seven thirty every nine. You know,
- 22:31Speaker 3: I also do the night show on she actually show
- 22:35Speaker 3: and she goes to bed as I.
- 22:37Speaker 1: That is absolutely the sweetest Hey, you know what, if
- 22:41Speaker 1: you want to listen Kissy, Mitch, he's got another show
- 22:44Speaker 1: coming up next with Britt Hockley and Laura Burne, Life
- 22:49Speaker 1: on Cut. Is it safe for Kissy to listen to
- 22:51Speaker 1: that though, Mitchie.
- 22:51Speaker 2: I reckon, it's safe.
- 22:52Speaker 3: You see time for your morning, that man morning.
- 22:55Speaker 4: That all right, all right, that seems fair. Thanks for
- 22:57Speaker 4: having out this morning, guys.
