- 0:05Speaker 1: Apoja Production. Welcome to the Sheep Risers podcast. I'm Ashi
- 0:13Speaker 1: and I'm Tiana.
- 0:14Speaker 2: This podcast is about female empowerment and encouraging you to
- 0:17Speaker 2: be your biggest, boldest, and most authentic version of yourself.
- 0:20Speaker 1: We'd help you shed the shame, grow to a new level.
- 0:23Speaker 1: We're gonna laugh, cry, and talk about the topics everyone
- 0:26Speaker 1: else is too afraid to talk about.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Get ready for your next level of self.
- 0:30Speaker 1: It's a little bit nervous for this one. Welcome back
- 0:33Speaker 1: to the podcast. Guys. It's just something I never thought
- 0:37Speaker 1: I would openly talk about now. I have kind of
- 0:40Speaker 1: mentioned it in a previous one, just like a little bit,
- 0:43Speaker 1: and then it did spread around to a couple of
- 0:45Speaker 1: the gossip pages and the gossip podcasts, but I thought
- 0:48Speaker 1: quant not talk about it. Yeah, it's a part of
- 0:50Speaker 1: my past. It's kind of funny now if I look back,
- 0:52Speaker 1: and it was kind of a fun chapter.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:54Speaker 1: But before there was Ashi, before there was Stephanie, there
- 0:58Speaker 1: was Pam. Why did I come up with that name?
- 1:01Speaker 1: I have no idea. But when I was I must
- 1:06Speaker 1: have been fresh eighteen and I'd just broken up with
- 1:09Speaker 1: my first boyfriend. I went to WA and I became
- 1:12Speaker 1: a skimpy bar, mate, So what that is. It's out
- 1:15Speaker 1: in a mining town and you wear a skimpy outfit
- 1:18Speaker 1: like a costume or lingerie or whatever, and you serve
- 1:21Speaker 1: beer to the boys of the bar. Yeah, women, and
- 1:24Speaker 1: you make absolute bank. So you not only get paid
- 1:26Speaker 1: your hourly rate. What happens is you go around with
- 1:30Speaker 1: a jug. One of the girls is like five girls
- 1:31Speaker 1: working at a bar or a smaller bar. They might
- 1:33Speaker 1: be less, but I worked mainly in the big bar.
- 1:36Speaker 1: And no, it's not topless. I'll talk about that later on.
- 1:38Speaker 1: It's the topless bar as well.
- 1:39Speaker 2: There.
- 1:39Speaker 1: But you go around with a jug and all the
- 1:41Speaker 1: men pop in money like notes, coins, whatever, and the
- 1:43Speaker 1: jug gets full, and then you take one layer of
- 1:46Speaker 1: clothing off. So if I was dressed in a little
- 1:48Speaker 1: fairy outfit and I had like a single top and
- 1:51Speaker 1: a little fairy skirt and some high socks and some wings,
- 1:54Speaker 1: I might take my wings, my single top off, and
- 1:56Speaker 1: that of the little crop top underneath. Yes, i might
- 1:58Speaker 1: take my skirt off, and I've got little cheeky undies
- 2:00Speaker 1: on and fishnet stockings. Yes, So all the girls have
- 2:03Speaker 1: to take one layer of clothing off. Yeah, that's what
- 2:05Speaker 1: you get paid for, yes, you know in the getting
- 2:07Speaker 1: an hourly rate. But in there then there could be
- 2:08Speaker 1: like a thousand bucks in the jug and then you
- 2:10Speaker 1: divide that between the girls. Yes, and over the course
- 2:13Speaker 1: of like say an eight hour shift, you do that
- 2:14Speaker 1: three or four times, you've made two grand in the night.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Yeah, it's wild. And then once a year there's this
- 2:21Speaker 1: big not festival, this big event that happens in Calgooley
- 2:25Speaker 1: and it's called Diggers and Dealers and it's when all
- 2:28Speaker 1: the big miners from around the world come to Kolgooley
- 2:30Speaker 1: and it's absolutely packed. You can't even walk into the bar.
- 2:34Speaker 1: It's shoulder to shoulder.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Wow.
- 2:36Speaker 1: So it is the best time for Skimpy by way
- 2:38Speaker 1: to go and work. I made nineteen thousand dollars in
- 2:40Speaker 1: a twenty hour working week. Wow, nineteen thousand dollars.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Wow. Wild hay. And it was from just like so
- 2:46Speaker 2: many big miners coming in and like they have so
- 2:49Speaker 2: much money.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Yeah, so like they'll pay for a beer and give
- 2:51Speaker 1: you one hundred dollar anight. They're really wealthy, and they
- 2:54Speaker 1: don't even wait for their change because they just want
- 2:55Speaker 1: to get out there and go have their drinks. So
- 2:57Speaker 1: just keep the change. All of our jogs. We each
- 2:59Speaker 1: had individual drugs. All of our jugs are just overflowing
- 3:02Speaker 1: me to go out the back and like pulled when
- 3:03Speaker 1: at bags and the end of the way, I had
- 3:05Speaker 1: nineteen grain cash. That's crazy at eighteen my wage on
- 3:09Speaker 1: top of that, yes, which you get paid from the
- 3:10Speaker 1: bars obviously crazy. Hey, it's wild. So I only did
- 3:14Speaker 1: that once. I didn't do it for very long because
- 3:15Speaker 1: I recently met Steve after that, but a couple of
- 3:18Speaker 1: months I did it. It was fun and it was different,
- 3:21Speaker 1: and I was nice to get away from the gold coroast.
- 3:23Speaker 1: And I actually had four really good male friends that
- 3:26Speaker 1: I knew that worked in Calgary, so I got to
- 3:27Speaker 1: live with them. The darker side of it, I suppose,
- 3:30Speaker 1: is if you don't know anyone, a lot of the
- 3:32Speaker 1: girls have to stay in the bars upstairs. Yeah, and
- 3:34Speaker 1: there definitely was some things that happened to the women
- 3:36Speaker 1: when men got really drunk and things happened ye unsafe.
- 3:40Speaker 1: So while I was there, there definitely was a couple
- 3:43Speaker 1: of things that happened to the other girls. I was
- 3:45Speaker 1: just very fortunate. I always had one of the boys
- 3:47Speaker 1: drop me off, picked me up. Most of the time
- 3:49Speaker 1: there's one of the boys in the bar like whipping
- 3:50Speaker 1: me out for me, protecting me while they have their drinks.
- 3:53Speaker 1: I never got treated badly and never got spoken too badly,
- 3:56Speaker 1: And I think because I've always just been quite good
- 3:58Speaker 1: with people. I wasn't that flirty bar mate. I was
- 4:01Speaker 1: their mate. Yes, they didn't see me as someone they're
- 4:03Speaker 1: going to hit on.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Yes, they made friends the year like their friend.
- 4:06Speaker 1: And they also knew that I had a lot of
- 4:08Speaker 1: male friends there in the bar, so they never would
- 4:11Speaker 1: try anything because they knew all hell would break loose. Yes,
- 4:14Speaker 1: there was one time, so I was seeing a man
- 4:17Speaker 1: down there once and he came and I didn't like
- 4:20Speaker 1: him coming to the bar because he was quite protective
- 4:21Speaker 1: and jealous. We were fully dating, but we've kind of
- 4:24Speaker 1: seen each other for a little bit. And then another
- 4:26Speaker 1: guy asked me for my number. That caused the biggest
- 4:29Speaker 1: bar fight, and I remember my boss saying, you need
- 4:31Speaker 1: to tell him not to come in again. Wow, that
- 4:33Speaker 1: was the only kind of hiccup that I had. There
- 4:35Speaker 1: was always offers to travel to other towns and like
- 4:37Speaker 1: go work there for a bit, and that was always
- 4:39Speaker 1: like really big money because you'd be the only bar maid.
- 4:41Speaker 1: I did that twice, so I went to I didn't
- 4:43Speaker 1: even know what the town's called, and I only had
- 4:45Speaker 1: to work like four hour shift. But I got paid
- 4:47Speaker 1: a couple of grand for it. Wow, because the men
- 4:49Speaker 1: are just really generous. Yeah, they're super quiet as well.
- 4:52Speaker 1: The dumbest thing that I did was get a ride
- 4:54Speaker 1: home with one of the guys the next day to Perth.
- 4:57Speaker 1: I know, silly, How was that experience? It was fine,
- 5:00Speaker 1: we didn't even talk the whole right, just dropped me off.
- 5:02Speaker 2: But you felt safe though, like got really safe.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Bit dumb. Yes, no, you shouldn't have done that. It's
- 5:07Speaker 1: either that or catch a bus. But the bus was
- 5:09Speaker 1: going to take twice as long. So I just got
- 5:11Speaker 1: a ride and he dropped me off and it was fine.
- 5:13Speaker 2: But he wasn't giving like, he wasn't giving creepy sleezy
- 5:16Speaker 2: He's not going to be trusted now.
- 5:18Speaker 1: He was just like a young miner. Yeah, okay, obviously
- 5:20Speaker 1: would never recommend doing that, and the hindsight, young eighteen
- 5:22Speaker 1: year old actually made a mistake for sure, of course.
- 5:25Speaker 1: And then some of the interesting offers that I got over.
- 5:27Speaker 2: The time, Oh my god, please tell Yeah.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Very interesting. I got offered to be paid one hundred
- 5:33Speaker 1: thousand dollars to go on a boat for the weekend. Wow, yeah, obviously.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Tell us, tell us about this story. Actually, I've had
- 5:39Speaker 2: this one.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Yeah, a much older man. You know what, I did
- 5:42Speaker 1: not get soundsillly sat but I didn't get sleazy vibes
- 5:45Speaker 1: off him. He was He told me about his family,
- 5:47Speaker 1: he had a wife, he had kids. He was just very,
- 5:50Speaker 1: very lonely, and he offered that to me. I instantly said, no,
- 5:52Speaker 1: it's just not my thing. I'm not going to be
- 5:54Speaker 1: a little arm candy and I don't want to put
- 5:55Speaker 1: myself in a position like that when I'm on a
- 5:56Speaker 1: boat with a bunch of men. Yes, but now the
- 5:59Speaker 1: girl took it, she did it, got her money, came back,
- 6:01Speaker 1: everything was all good. Didn't you say that there was
- 6:03Speaker 1: another girl?
- 6:03Speaker 2: You had spoken to the other girl about it, and
- 6:05Speaker 2: there were a few of them who had actually done that.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Yeah, pretty, they were fine. Yeah, they said you didn't
- 6:09Speaker 1: have sex with them.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Yeah, wow, you just.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Wanted a hot girl on the boat with them, keep
- 6:12Speaker 1: companying it. He loved a chat, Yeah, genuinely, he'd love
- 6:15Speaker 1: to have a chat. I was scared it was going
- 6:17Speaker 1: to be in a position where I was expected to
- 6:19Speaker 1: have sex. Of course, and you guys know, I've only
- 6:21Speaker 1: ever had sex with partners. I not wanted to sleep around.
- 6:25Speaker 1: And then a couple of other times I got offered
- 6:27Speaker 1: ten thousand dollars to flash nipple. I said no, I
- 6:30Speaker 1: think once you kind of put yourself in that category,
- 6:32Speaker 1: they expect it, and I just never wanted to. And
- 6:34Speaker 1: once again I just not everyone got access to my body. Yeah,
- 6:37Speaker 1: and I know I was just skimpy bar mate, but
- 6:38Speaker 1: it just felt like for me, that was the next
- 6:40Speaker 1: step that I didn't want to take. Yes, So across
- 6:42Speaker 1: the road from the main bar that I worked out
- 6:44Speaker 1: there was a topless bar. So the girls that were
- 6:46Speaker 1: okay to be topless. I had a couple of girlfriends
- 6:48Speaker 1: that worked over there. Yeah, and they just didn't wear
- 6:50Speaker 1: any costumes. They just had their boobs out the whole time.
- 6:52Speaker 1: They made really good money, but it was just something
- 6:54Speaker 1: I don't know, I just didn't want to do.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Yeah, it was like that was your limit. Yeah, it
- 6:57Speaker 2: was a cute little outfit, but like that's as far
- 6:59Speaker 2: as I got for sure.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I was on stage on the Gold Coast doing
- 7:02Speaker 1: bikini competitions in a lot less clothing. Yeah, the costumes
- 7:05Speaker 1: I wore on stage, like most categories for the bikini
- 7:08Speaker 1: comps I used to do. You had to do a dress,
- 7:10Speaker 1: a bikini, a costume, and lingerie. Wow, like four categories.
- 7:13Speaker 1: So I was showing a lot less skin on the
- 7:15Speaker 1: Gold Coast to all these people in a nightclub. So
- 7:18Speaker 1: wearing a costume over there.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Felt like nothing, Yeah, you're like fine, Yeah.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Post bikini photos all the time online, it didn't feel
- 7:24Speaker 1: edgy for me to wear a costume or take one
- 7:26Speaker 1: layer of clothing off and I'm still fully closed. Yes,
- 7:29Speaker 1: it just didn't feel like the wings off, like yeah,
- 7:31Speaker 1: it did not feel like a big deal to me. Yes,
- 7:33Speaker 1: and yeah really helped me. I moved through my breakup
- 7:35Speaker 1: as well, because I felt when I was on the
- 7:36Speaker 1: Gold Coast, I kept wanting to go back to him,
- 7:38Speaker 1: but I knew that it wasn't the right one for me,
- 7:39Speaker 1: and I felt bad for doing that. And when I
- 7:41Speaker 1: was lonely and I was just young, immature and just
- 7:44Speaker 1: navigating that, and it was nice to be independent and
- 7:47Speaker 1: nice to have lots of money at a young age.
- 7:48Speaker 1: I took my friends on holidays I shopped, I paid
- 7:51Speaker 1: off debts, got a head and then I met Steve.
- 7:55Speaker 1: So I met him online and he knew what I
- 7:59Speaker 1: was doing and didn't like it, but we were just
- 8:02Speaker 1: getting to know each other. I would always do lying,
- 8:04Speaker 1: like two or three weeks work and then come back
- 8:07Speaker 1: two or three weeks. It's kind of like five f O. Really, yes,
- 8:09Speaker 1: own your money, come back and live it up. Yeah,
- 8:11Speaker 1: and yeah. I came back and met Steve and never
- 8:14Speaker 1: left and the rest is history, and the rest is history,
- 8:17Speaker 1: and came back here and then I was like, shit,
- 8:18Speaker 1: I need to get a job. Started working at Valley Girl,
- 8:21Speaker 1: and then got my PTE certification and we started the
- 8:24Speaker 1: ash she won't be anybody challenge. Wow. So it's just
- 8:26Speaker 1: like a chapter in my journey, absolightly and a lot
- 8:29Speaker 1: of people who have asked like, oh, what did your
- 8:30Speaker 1: mom think of that? And of course she was always
- 8:33Speaker 1: worried about me, but she never shamed me for it.
- 8:36Speaker 1: She was like, yeah, do whatever you've got to do,
- 8:37Speaker 1: and call me if you need me, and I'm here
- 8:39Speaker 1: and talk to me about all and tell me it
- 8:40Speaker 1: all and tell me when you're home safe. And I
- 8:43Speaker 1: just I'm really lucky with my mom. I've never felt judged.
- 8:47Speaker 1: She's never pressured me to get a degree or to
- 8:49Speaker 1: do anything that I don't want to do. She's like,
- 8:51Speaker 1: you just live your life and I'm here for you
- 8:53Speaker 1: along the way. And it's really nice for facing me back.
- 8:55Speaker 1: I'm like, gosh, she did a good job with that,
- 8:56Speaker 1: because if anything happened to me or I was carrying
- 9:00Speaker 1: any shame, like, I just felt so safe to bring
- 9:02Speaker 1: it all into her. And I really hope that I
- 9:04Speaker 1: provide that's for my kids. I never want them to
- 9:06Speaker 1: feel pressured to be something or to have a certain
- 9:09Speaker 1: title or degree. I just got to live my life
- 9:11Speaker 1: and figure it out along the way, and I think
- 9:13Speaker 1: I've turned out pretty good. So she did good.
- 9:16Speaker 2: You did good, Wendy.
- 9:16Speaker 1: But yeah, it's funny you have a stage name. So
- 9:19Speaker 1: Pam was my name. I don't know why I love it.
- 9:21Speaker 1: I like, I wonder where Pam came from.
- 9:23Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 9:24Speaker 1: It's not even a sexy name, like I could have
- 9:26Speaker 1: thought of something better, like Stephanie.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Yeah, but I wonder if you were just like something
- 9:29Speaker 2: that's so far fetched from your actual name.
- 9:31Speaker 1: I'm wondering if one of the boys just called me
- 9:33Speaker 1: it one day, Like I wonder if I was struggling
- 9:34Speaker 1: to think of a name and one of them just
- 9:36Speaker 1: called me Pam one days. So funny, I don't know.
- 9:38Speaker 2: But you know what, as well, I feel like around
- 9:40Speaker 2: that time, promotional work was a really big thing. Huge.
- 9:43Speaker 2: I remember all of my older sisters did promotional work,
- 9:46Speaker 2: and there was always the option to kind of push
- 9:48Speaker 2: into that lingerie topless kind of do you know what
- 9:50Speaker 2: I mean? Like obviously there are stages of promotional work.
- 9:52Speaker 2: It's like fully clothed, a little bit less, you know.
- 9:55Speaker 2: So it's like I feel like that was a really
- 9:57Speaker 2: big thing.
- 9:57Speaker 1: It was huge.
- 9:58Speaker 2: I don't even know how long ago.
- 9:59Speaker 1: The girls at the Inner the Bedroom nightclub, Yes, they
- 10:02Speaker 1: wear lingerie behind the bar, Yeah, they were wearing more
- 10:04Speaker 1: than what any of the skimpy bar mates in wa. Yeah,
- 10:07Speaker 1: guarantee weird with a lot more clothes on than there
- 10:09Speaker 1: most of the time. Yeah, and the topless girls. But yeah,
- 10:12Speaker 1: it was such an interesting fun chapter. But I don't
- 10:15Speaker 1: know why I carried so much shame around it. And
- 10:18Speaker 1: I noticed when I would do like a random Q
- 10:19Speaker 1: and A that'd be like a fake profile, that's like, hey, Pam,
- 10:21Speaker 1: how you.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Doing Oh, I'm like, oh, you're like.
- 10:24Speaker 1: It's gonna get out, someone's gonna leak a photo or something.
- 10:28Speaker 1: And then I sat with it one day and I
- 10:29Speaker 1: was like, why am I so ashamed of this? Why
- 10:32Speaker 1: do I care what people think about my past. It's
- 10:34Speaker 1: literally like seventeen years ago, and it was just a
- 10:37Speaker 1: chapter of my journey. So I just want to talk
- 10:39Speaker 1: about it because I think it's kind of funny and
- 10:40Speaker 1: interesting and people would look at me and think, oh
- 10:42Speaker 1: my god, I can't imagine her doing that.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Yeah, but also it's like it's just a part of
- 10:45Speaker 2: your journey. It's part of your story, and you were
- 10:47Speaker 2: young and exploring and finding ways to make money and yeah,
- 10:50Speaker 2: you did what you could do at the time to survive.
- 10:52Speaker 2: And also, like what you said, it was a fun experience,
- 10:54Speaker 2: like you learned. I imagine you would have learned so
- 10:56Speaker 2: much about like hustling and learning and growing in that period.
- 10:59Speaker 1: I love being around people. Yeah, I'd never poured a
- 11:01Speaker 1: drink in my life until I started working there, But
- 11:03Speaker 1: I love being around people. I love talking to people.
- 11:06Speaker 1: It's easy. Like the shift we do was so easy.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Even there was like a couple of morning shifts, so
- 11:11Speaker 1: you might do a week at a bar where the
- 11:13Speaker 1: boys come off night shift, so you do six am
- 11:15Speaker 1: till nine am. You make like a grand for three hours,
- 11:18Speaker 1: just chilling while they had their beer and you're serving
- 11:19Speaker 1: it and cleaning up and chatting with them. Easy. Yeah,
- 11:23Speaker 1: so when on so many holidays, I help my friends
- 11:25Speaker 1: with so much money, paid off all my debts, which
- 11:28Speaker 1: is cool. So yeah, Pam has gone.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Now though, it's cool that you've been able to overcome
- 11:33Speaker 2: the shame around it, because like, why why show?
- 11:36Speaker 1: I don't know why I was so embarrassed? Why was
- 11:38Speaker 1: I so scared? I know people are going to have opinions.
- 11:41Speaker 1: I know someone listening is going to put this on
- 11:42Speaker 1: a gossip page. I'm like, oh my gosh, I actually did this,
- 11:45Speaker 1: Like but I don't care. Yeah, like you can talk
- 11:47Speaker 1: about it, and you know what has been cool.
- 11:48Speaker 2: I feel like this season at the moment, like the
- 11:51Speaker 2: eraor that you're in right now, the last twelve months,
- 11:53Speaker 2: you really embodying your sexual, feminine energy. It's almost like
- 11:56Speaker 2: reclaiming that sense of sensuality. That is so I wonder
- 11:59Speaker 2: if it's like now you look back and you're like, oh,
- 12:00Speaker 2: I'm actually not ashamed of that anymore. Yeah, not because
- 12:03Speaker 2: you were doing anything sexual, but it's like empowered, Yes,
- 12:07Speaker 2: Like you're feeling empowered now, so it's like, oh, well,
- 12:09Speaker 2: I'm actually not ashamed of that.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it's cool. It's really nice to shed shame. It
- 12:14Speaker 1: has been really cool last twelve months and just actually
- 12:16Speaker 1: take a moment to sit in discomfort of the shame
- 12:18Speaker 1: and ask yourself why. And it's good for anyone listening too,
- 12:21Speaker 1: if there's anything you're shameful around, like literally sit in
- 12:23Speaker 1: and be like, but why because society's told me that
- 12:26Speaker 1: I'm a slut doing that, or that's the wrong thing,
- 12:29Speaker 1: or you're not smart enough to get a real job,
- 12:31Speaker 1: or that's what you're gonna do with your life. Like
- 12:33Speaker 1: all these comments and stories, and a lot of the
- 12:35Speaker 1: time it's just ourselves that make up these stories.
- 12:38Speaker 2: What about you? Mention that Steve didn't like it at
- 12:40Speaker 2: the time. Was there like many conversations that happened around
- 12:43Speaker 2: that with him, did he ever want you to stop?
- 12:45Speaker 2: Or was he okay with it? And just like, oh,
- 12:46Speaker 2: let her do her own thing? How is he with that?
- 12:48Speaker 1: Upon reflection on conversations afterwards, he fucking hated it because
- 12:51Speaker 1: he's so jealous. Yes, like everyone's looking at my girl.
- 12:54Speaker 1: But we weren't officially a couple. We were just talking.
- 12:56Speaker 1: We just spoke for months before we even met. Yes,
- 12:59Speaker 1: so we've got a very close relationship and we couldn't
- 13:02Speaker 1: call it official because we hadn't even met each other.
- 13:03Speaker 1: But it's almost like we had this in annoying that, yes,
- 13:05Speaker 1: this is going to go somewhere. We both were still
- 13:08Speaker 1: talking to other people because obviously do put the eggs
- 13:10Speaker 1: in one basket. We hadn't met. But yeah, afterwards, he
- 13:13Speaker 1: was like, I didn't like that at all, knowing you
- 13:15Speaker 1: were going to work and it's hot outpits and everyone's
- 13:18Speaker 1: looking at you and I haven't even been able to
- 13:19Speaker 1: look at you properly yet, so it's very jealous.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Yeah that's my girl. Yeah, he's mine, and he.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Just obviously just didn't want me doing that as a career.
- 13:26Speaker 1: And he's like, I see more for you and can
- 13:28Speaker 1: see you love health and fitness and like I want
- 13:31Speaker 1: to start our life together here. So but yeah, I
- 13:33Speaker 1: can understand why their partner wouldn't want them doing that.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, don't blame him.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I was totally understandable.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Yeah, because it's like to Steve, You're like, oh no,
- 13:40Speaker 2: but I was just their friend and he's over here,
- 13:42Speaker 2: like have you seen you in that outfit?
- 13:44Speaker 1: They're looking at you nice. Yes, for sure, I meta
- 13:48Speaker 1: obviously looking and perving. But I did feel really safe
- 13:51Speaker 1: and I had really had really nice male friendships. Yeah,
- 13:54Speaker 1: Like they were respectful and so respectful. I still talked
- 13:57Speaker 1: to a few of them now, Like they were just
- 13:58Speaker 1: really protective of me. I was almost like their little sister.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:01Speaker 1: They just wanted to make sure I was safe, and
- 14:02Speaker 1: they like all would talk amongst each other to make
- 14:04Speaker 1: sure someone's going to be at the who's picking ashy
- 14:06Speaker 1: up today because we have a car over there?
- 14:07Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 14:08Speaker 1: OK. Yeah, I just felt really protected and loved it
- 14:10Speaker 1: was nice. I always had a roof over my head
- 14:12Speaker 1: and we'd have dinners together and off their work would
- 14:14Speaker 1: hang out and go to the gym together. It was cool.
- 14:16Speaker 2: I love that.
- 14:17Speaker 1: It's a different kind of chapter.
- 14:18Speaker 2: It's cool that you were able to go to that
- 14:20Speaker 2: environment though, and have that sense of safety and protection. Yeah,
- 14:23Speaker 2: you know, it was like for another woman who maybe
- 14:25Speaker 2: would go and not know anybody there or be new
- 14:27Speaker 2: to that environment. Can see how that could be like
- 14:29Speaker 2: a slippery slope.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Yeah, a couple of the girls there was like obviously
- 14:32Speaker 1: like biking gangs and stuff, and there was a couple
- 14:34Speaker 1: of bars where they ran and yeah, definitely some unfortunate
- 14:38Speaker 1: things happened, but I just I never felt scared for myself, yes,
- 14:42Speaker 1: which was cool. And it's the only time in my
- 14:45Speaker 1: life that I've been single and fully free. I've been
- 14:49Speaker 1: in a relationship for seventeen years with eighteen next June,
- 14:52Speaker 1: and before that, I was with my first boyfriend, Luke
- 14:54Speaker 1: for three and a half years from age like fifteen
- 14:56Speaker 1: or sixteen, yeah, fifteen. So it's the only like little
- 14:59Speaker 1: period I had where I was just ashy.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Just free.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Yeah, just free. Yeah, Yeah, which was fun. You get
- 15:05Speaker 1: to explore that, Yeah, cool to experience that. Yeah, definitely
- 15:08Speaker 1: a relationship, Galie, Yeah, get made for the single. We
- 15:11Speaker 1: had this conversation the other day, actually we did.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Hey.
- 15:13Speaker 1: I was like, fuck, I don't know how Copra five
- 15:15Speaker 1: of them was single. I were having a conversation.
- 15:17Speaker 2: I was telling Ashi about something or about I don't know,
- 15:20Speaker 2: just like common themes dating and like even advice on
- 15:23Speaker 2: social media around you know, how to play the game
- 15:25Speaker 2: and all this sort of stuff. And she was like, Yianna,
- 15:27Speaker 2: is this what you have to deal with? This is atrocious?
- 15:30Speaker 2: And I was like, Babe, it's rough.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Yeah, it's rough.
- 15:33Speaker 2: It's not rough. It's like it depends like where you
- 15:35Speaker 2: spend your time and energy and allsocialida pool of good
- 15:38Speaker 2: men there is it is smaller because you become more picky,
- 15:41Speaker 2: you become more intentional and if you're looking at like
- 15:43Speaker 2: let's say the masses, like no offense, but like, but
- 15:46Speaker 2: this goes for men and women. I'm not fitting on
- 15:47Speaker 2: men at all, not a man hater, but it is
- 15:49Speaker 2: it's pretty rough out there, the way that people interact
- 15:51Speaker 2: when it comes to dating. And she was just like
- 15:53Speaker 2: this is a truth. She was like, I would die
- 15:55Speaker 2: out here if I were single.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Yeah. I think we were talking about even just the
- 15:58Speaker 1: simple things of men paying for things. And maybe I'm
- 16:00Speaker 1: just old school, but I have never had to pay
- 16:03Speaker 1: for something when I'm with a man. Yes, any day
- 16:05Speaker 1: that I've been on. And when I was single, I
- 16:06Speaker 1: went on quite a few dates. Like I didn't pull
- 16:08Speaker 1: my wallet out. Yeah, Steve would never let me pay
- 16:10Speaker 1: for something, yes, like ever, yeah he would cover everything
- 16:13Speaker 1: he couldn't. He didn't have a lot of money either.
- 16:14Speaker 1: But my first boyfriend, like he would get angry if
- 16:17Speaker 1: I filled my car up. Yes, he wanted to do
- 16:19Speaker 1: that for me. Yeah. As when I hear of you
- 16:20Speaker 1: men being like I want to go halves in this,
- 16:22Speaker 1: I'm like.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Very what excuse me? Half?
- 16:24Speaker 1: But to me fifty fifty? Like what do you mean
- 16:26Speaker 1: why is he not paid?
- 16:27Speaker 2: Yeah? My ex boyfriend was like that too. He would
- 16:29Speaker 2: get angry with me, like if I even if I
- 16:30Speaker 2: would pay or I would somehow manage to do it,
- 16:32Speaker 2: he would transfer it back to me, put the money
- 16:34Speaker 2: back in my bag or like he just like would
- 16:35Speaker 2: be like, please don't do that again, Like you stop that.
- 16:38Speaker 1: I think the true masculine provided man doesn't like they
- 16:41Speaker 1: actually want to do. Yeah, And like even though I'm
- 16:43Speaker 1: very independent, I can make my own money, I still
- 16:45Speaker 1: like to be taken care of. Yeah, it still feels
- 16:47Speaker 1: nice to be spoiled and just know that they've got
- 16:49Speaker 1: it and sarch off your brain and it's almost and
- 16:52Speaker 1: energy that they have. Yeah, they're just like leadership.
- 16:54Speaker 2: It's like I've got you, Yeah, I don't have to
- 16:56Speaker 2: worry and it's not even about the money, but it's
- 16:58Speaker 2: like I've got you energy you're going to take care
- 17:00Speaker 2: of you for sure.
- 17:01Speaker 1: When I hear stories not just Fromia, from other friends
- 17:03Speaker 1: too him like he did what Yeah, oh my god,
- 17:05Speaker 1: Like you didn't turn up to the day. What do
- 17:06Speaker 1: you mean he's not applying to you? What do you
- 17:08Speaker 1: mean ghosted? You just haven't experienced any of that. Yeah,
- 17:11Speaker 1: And it wasn't dating apps when I was single. It's
- 17:13Speaker 1: like you add someone on Facebook, yeah, like more organic. Yeah,
- 17:17Speaker 1: you comment on their status where they're out, what they're doing,
- 17:19Speaker 1: or they're they might manage them. Yeah. Yeah, it's just
- 17:23Speaker 1: such a different world. I just can't imagine being in
- 17:26Speaker 1: the world now. It's a different world. Yeah.
- 17:28Speaker 2: But also as well, it's mostly Yeah, there's a lot
- 17:31Speaker 2: of chaos, there's a lot going on. Yeah, but if
- 17:34Speaker 2: you're engage in it and you're entertaining it, and you're
- 17:36Speaker 2: also showing up as that, you're only going to attract
- 17:38Speaker 2: more of So true for the most part, Like you
- 17:40Speaker 2: attract what you are or what it is that you entertain,
- 17:44Speaker 2: and if you stop entertaining all the things that you
- 17:46Speaker 2: don't want, like you're going to have good experiences.
- 17:48Speaker 1: That's true, you know. Yeah, there's lots of good people
- 17:50Speaker 1: out there. Absolutely ing them. Yeah, putting yourself in the
- 17:52Speaker 1: right scenarios. Yeah. So anyways, that's my story.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Goodbye, Pam, Thank you Pam, thanks to showing your face.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Thank you for your service. I'm so curious if anyone
- 18:01Speaker 1: who's listening to this when I lived in Kalgooli, I'd
- 18:03Speaker 1: love you to reach out.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Oh my god, like remember this era. That'd be funny.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Yeah, like did you live there? Do we meet?
- 18:08Speaker 2: Like for you at the bar.
- 18:10Speaker 1: There's women there too as well. Yeah, so interesting. It's
- 18:12Speaker 1: only every now and again it'll pop up in a
- 18:14Speaker 1: Q and A and I'm like, oh, who are they?
- 18:16Speaker 1: It's from a fake profile though.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Yeah, it's suspicious, Yeah, suspicious being weird for Yeah, you
- 18:21Speaker 2: can just say hello, just.
- 18:22Speaker 1: So high to how you doing doing? I remember you
- 18:24Speaker 1: in the bar?

- 18:28Speaker 1: I wonder if you have a skeleton in your cover
- 18:30Speaker 1: we could talk about an episode me yeah, my skeleton.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Oh maybe I'll probably do you know what we should do? Yes?
- 18:36Speaker 1: I feel like the sex tape. Yeah, episode, there's so
- 18:39Speaker 1: much more to that.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Oh, there definitely is.
- 18:41Speaker 1: I think we should plan an episode. We would do
- 18:43Speaker 1: a part two and I've got a lot of questions
- 18:44Speaker 1: I think people would be curious on knowing.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Okay, open to that absolutely? Yeah cool when I do that,
- 18:49Speaker 2: Okay sounds got us know.

- 18:55Speaker 2: Done.

- 18:57Speaker 1: people be curious.
