- 0:02SPEAKER_01: Welcome.
- 0:03SPEAKER_01: We are blessed to be with you this Wellness Wednesday.
- 0:06SPEAKER_01: And if you're new to us, welcome.
- 0:08SPEAKER_01: You've probably been invited about somebody telling you that you're going to learn something really important about your health.
- 0:14SPEAKER_01: So if you're new to either the podcast or here live with us, welcome.
- 0:18SPEAKER_01: Uh tonight we have a very special guest with us.
- 0:21SPEAKER_01: I'm going to be introducing to you my friend and business partner, Esther Yunkin.
- 0:26SPEAKER_01: And she is going to be talking about hypothyroidism.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: And you guys, there are so many common misconceptions about the thyroid, the health behind thyroid.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: And so we're going to dive deep.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: So be prepared to take notes.
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: Esther is an expert with the thyroid, specifically helping people with hypothyroidism.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: And she is actually an RN with 25 years of experience.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: Today she runs Health and Hashimoto's, a health education platform for women.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: She also hosts Health with Hashimoto's podcast.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: And I know that this is her area of expertise.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: So we're going to be talking about the thyroid and specifically activation and how you can support your thyroid and really peeling apart the later layers of misconception behind thyroid health.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: So, Esther, thank you so much for being with us.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: And I'm so blessed that you are with us this evening.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: So will you give our, you know, the people that are listening just a background as to how you fell into this area of expertise and a little bit about, you know, why you're so passionate about uh the thyroid and educating people as to the importance of staying healthy.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: Thanks for having me today.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: It's an honor to share with more people because this is, like you said, it's an area that I am passionate about.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: And it's because it confused me.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: Like if you want to get down to the very nuts and bolts, I teach this because it was insanely confusing for me.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: So four years of nursing school, you'd learn enough in some areas just to pass the test and then forget.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: That was the thyroid for me.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: And then I worked in a whole bunch of different areas, primarily ER.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: And then I went back to school as I got sick and tired of just putting short-term band-aids on chronic problems.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: I went back to school for holistic health education.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: And again, there I learned just enough about the thyroid stuff to pass the test or pass the module.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: And then I would forget it because it was so confusing for me.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: The thyroid stuff, people know TSH.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: Like that's a common lab, but there are so many other labs.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: And when one thing goes up, another thing goes down, and I could never understand it.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: So in the ER, I knew enough that when somebody had hypothyroidism, they're probably on synthroid.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: And when I was taking care of people in the hospital, I knew that you had to give synthroid 30 to 60 minutes before meals.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Like I knew those basics, but that was it.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: And then I started to have problems.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: And I went to my chiropractor and she's like, Esther, I think we need to check your thyroid.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: And I remember just praying on the way home.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: I'm like, God, this cannot be my thyroid because you can stop me on the street and you can ask me about any medical problem.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: And I can probably tell you body, mind, spirit, diet, environment, all of it for everything except thyroid.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: So God, this cannot be my thyroid.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: And it was.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: And I first asked for help.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: My husband is also a nurse.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: And I was like, okay, here are the resources.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: Can you please help me understand?
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: And so he did.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: And then I was talking to God about hypothyroidism and this new diagnosis.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: And I very clearly heard him say, Esther, if you, with all of your training and education, are still confused about this, what do you think the average person is experiencing?
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: Use this to teach others.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: And so that's why I am teaching others about hypothyroidism and Hashimoto's and autoimmunity.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: And that's why I do what I do.
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: And along the lines of what you said, I mean, my passion for the last 14 years has been, you know, in wellness, specifically, you know, coaching people in the cancer space.
- 3:57SPEAKER_01: But same thing.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: I mean, the thyroid confuses the heck out of me.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: It still does.
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: So let's peel back the common misconceptions.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: Like, where does that start?
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: Why was it so confusing?
- 4:07SPEAKER_01: And maybe you can let, you know, people that are watching this know exactly what hypothyroidism, high hypothyroidism is.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: And if I mispronounce it, it's going to be fun.
- 4:16SPEAKER_01: But it's kind of a tongue twister.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: So yeah, let's start there.
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: I think that's a great place to start.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: So your thyroid is a little butterfly butterfly-shaped gland right on the front of your neck.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: Everybody has one unless it's been surgically removed.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: And the problem is that in Western medicine, when something goes wrong with it, they're like, oh, no big deal.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: So if it's no big deal to Western medicine, they're not going to make sure you know what's going on because they will just give you levothyroxide or a synthroid in order to just get you through the next six months and then you get your labs done and then the cycle repeats.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: So the thyroid actually produces some hormones.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: The main one that it produces is T4.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: The four just means it has four molecules of iodine on it.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: And then your body converts that to T3.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: So T4 is like an inactive storage thing.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: You know, you put a whole bunch of boxes in the closet.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: You have the boxes.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: They're available when you need to get them out.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: T3 is the active form, and that's like an ignition key for every single cell in your body.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: If you want every single cell in your body to be working, you need the ignition key.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: So you would need that T4 to turn into T3, and you need the T3 to be telling every cell to turn on.
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: Well, your body is so amazingly wise.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: And if you have a lot of stress or if there's a lot of stuff going on, sometimes your body does not convert the T4 into T3.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: Instead, it converts it to a brake pedal.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: It converts it to what's called reverse T3.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: And that is the brake system.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: It tells every single cell in your body instead of let's go, go, go, let's rest, rest, rest.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: And so people are thinking, I'm so tired.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: Well, that's your body saying you need to rest.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: You're very high stress.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: So we need to let the body heal and restore, do what it's supposed to do at rest.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: So that's your thyroid in a nutshell.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: Important for every single cell in your body.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: And in your body's innate wisdom, it can give you ignition keys or the brake pedal.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: How am I doing so far?
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: Are you understanding it?
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: I love that you're using analogies because it's the easiest way for me to understand complex ideas and thoughts.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: So keep on going.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 6:25SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: So that's the thyroid itself.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: When you go in for your lab work, your annual lab work, or if you go complain to your doctor, I'm feeling so tired.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: They will say, Oh, let's check your thyroid.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: And they will run usually one lab and it's TSH.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: TSH is how much your brain is asking for more thyroid hormone.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: That's all it is.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: It is not an actual check of what your thyroid is producing.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: It's not checking the T4.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: It's not checking how much is converted to the ignition keys, the active T3.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: It's not, they're not checking the reverse T3, the brake pedal.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: The only thing the doctor typically checks is the TSH, which is your brain asking for more thyroid hormone.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: So if your TSH is high, it means your brain is asking, asking, asking, asking.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: It doesn't mean that you have a lot of thyroid.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: It means your brain is asking for more.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: So the higher your TSH, the more your brain is asking for more.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: And so if your TSH is high, your doctor is like, oh, you don't have enough thyroid hormone.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: Here's your synthetic.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: And then, no, come back in six months and we'll recheck your labs.
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: That's all they say.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: So I cannot tell you after like 17 years in the ER, I cannot tell you how many people would come into the ER, ask them the typical question, do you have any medical problems?
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: They're like, no.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: Do you take any medicines?
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: That's always the follow-up question.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: Well, yeah, I take levothyroxine.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: Well, then you clearly do have a medical problem.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: But since again, it's no big deal for Western medicine, they the common patient doesn't even connect the dots that, oh, I take a synthroid, so I have a problem with my thyroid.
- 8:03SPEAKER_00: They just, it's disconnected.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: So yeah, that's where we start is do you have hypothyroidism?
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: Are you on levothyroxine?
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: Are you on synthroid?
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: A lot of people are.
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: Unfortunately, the doctors just stop there.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: They never go deeper as to why.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: Why is your thyroid struggling?
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: And that's what we really want to know.
- 8:25SPEAKER_00: Some people estimate that 90% of people who have hypothyroidism, it's caused by an autoimmune condition called Hashimoto.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: Let's dive into that.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: Let's go into that next step because I know that's a whole other, you know, we're when we're looking at root cause, and that's what we're going to be addressing today with Esther.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: We're going to talk about not only just the science behind this, why this happens, but solutions, because obviously this is this is about solutions and providing the best solutions.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: So let's go into autoimmune and Hashimoto's and the connection between the thyroid and all of the things there before we dive into solutions and kind of talk more about what that looks like.
- 9:05unknown: Yeah.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: So autoimmune conditions, there's a whole bunch of them, but they all are your immune system going haywire and attacking something in your body.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: That's what they all are.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: And the people that I follow, doctors and experts, researchers, they say there are three things that everybody with an autoimmune condition has.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: And number one is a genetic component.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: A lot of times that's your genes saying what the immune system would attack.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: So if I'm genetically more susceptible for a thyroid attack, I'd have Hashimoto's.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: If somebody else is genetically more susceptible to like a rheumatoid arthritis, that's another autoimmune condition.
- 9:45SPEAKER_00: So your genetics kind of determine where your immune system attacks, but all autoimmune conditions are your immune system going haywire and attacking your own body.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: The second thing they all have in common is a gut component.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: And people who listen to the Wellness Wednesday talks, you probably you've heard leaky gut before.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: And that's one of the most common gut problems.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: I can't say, like with certainty, 100% of people with autoimmune issues have leaky gut, but I have heard that it is a very, very, very high percentage of people.
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: And the thing with leaky gut is you can't feel it.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: It just is like a silent.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: And as things escape from inside your gut and they go into your body, then your immune system knows, well, that's not supposed to be there.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: And it can mount a defense, it can stress out your immune system.
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: And think about yourself.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: When stress is high, you're gonna snap at your kids.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: You dearly, dearly love your kids or your husband or whoever.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: And when stress is high, you're more likely to snap at them, even though you love them.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: That's your immune system.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: Stress is high and it's snapping, it's like reacting to things that it shouldn't.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: And so we want to calm down stress.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: And one of the ways we can do that is help our gut.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: Um, so those are two things the genetic component and the gut component.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: And then the third thing for all autoimmune conditions is one or more triggers.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: And we can go through those, but we don't really have time.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: In the next 20 minutes, I have a like a one-hour presentation on the most common ones.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: Just know that one of them is stress.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: We all have stress.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: So there are things that you can do today if you know, oh, I have hypothyroidism.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: We can assume if you're in the 90% that it's caused by autoimmune conditions.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: And so then you get to look at those big three things.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: Do I have a genetic component?
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: Am I doing anything like neutrogenomics?
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: Am I helping my genetics turn on or off, my genes turn on and off?
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: How's my gut?
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: And how's my stress level?
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: And then we can go into other triggers after that.
- 11:49SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, I know it's so complex when you're talking autoimmune and the body is so innate and it's so designed, and there's so many different things, but I think you're kind of encompassing it in such a powerful way, keeping it simple for the average person to understand.
- 12:04SPEAKER_01: So we're looking at root cause and when we're talking about gut genetics and triggers.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: What is the best way, one of the best ways that you have found to influence not only gene expression, like you said, turning those genes on and off?
- 12:16SPEAKER_01: You know, I always like to say that like we are not destined to be the genes that we were designed with, right?
- 12:21SPEAKER_01: Because we can influence those.
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: Let's talk about activation and really the importance of addressing cellular health before we go into the gut component and dive a little bit deeper.
- 12:31SPEAKER_01: How have you seen that um radically impact people that have been dealing with thyroid issues and really autoimmune autoimmune issues in general, like depending on which one you're dealing with?
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: Well, if you want to get well, you have to fix the cell.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: Like you have to.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: My kids love Legos.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: I have four boys and they have a Lego closet.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: And when I say a closet, I mean it's a sloped roof, so it doesn't like it can't function as a room, but the floor plan is as big as a normal room, and that thing is chock full of Legos.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: And they refuse to buy or play with generic Legos because they don't work well, they don't stick together.
- 13:09SPEAKER_00: And if you can't build tiny little things with generic Legos, then the big masterpieces are not going to work.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: It's the same thing with your body.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: Like your body is made up of trillions of cells, and we have to make sure that every single one is working as best it can.
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: And that means that you're making sure it's clean.
- 13:28SPEAKER_00: Like, you know, think of a brown banana.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: Gross.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: I don't want my cells browning like a banana or a rusty car.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't want my cells rusting.
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: And that browning of a banana or rust is called oxidative stress when it is on your cellular level.
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: So we want to clean that up.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: And so one of the first things that I found with Life Vantage when I was looking around at different companies, I was like, oh my goodness, this company has a product that has five herbs that tells my body to clean up oxidative stress.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: Like I already knew about inflammation.
- 14:06SPEAKER_00: I already knew that at the root of so many different illnesses and diseases and problems is inflammation caused by oxidative stress.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: So if I can help my body clean that up, and if I can tell other people, my clients, how to clean up that cellular rust, like let's do that first because you have to fix the cell.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: You have to clean it up.
- 14:31SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: And Protandum NRF2, we know is so foundational and so profound with 28 peer-reviewed studies.
- 14:38SPEAKER_01: Now is a perfect time to announce that we have heard that they are going to be announcing an additional study in regard to protandum NRF2.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: And it, I kind of know what it is, but I'm not going to give any hints.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: So you'll have to stay tuned.
- 14:48SPEAKER_01: We'll probably be covering that topic on next week's Wellness Wednesday.
- 14:52SPEAKER_01: So stay tuned to that.
- 14:53SPEAKER_01: But it is powerful when you guys hear what we already know that protandeman RF2 is so profound in regard to the fact that it's it's addressing cellular function, cellular health, oxidative stress, the rusting from the inside out of our bodies.
- 15:07SPEAKER_01: When you can do that, the body is the miracle.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: That's root-cause wellness.
- 15:10SPEAKER_01: And that is what we thrive for.
- 15:12SPEAKER_01: And so just stay tuned.
- 15:13SPEAKER_01: I want to get a little, give a little teaser to that.
- 15:15SPEAKER_01: But let's talk about our mitochondria.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: And I love that when we had the conversation about hypothyroidism and the talk of T4 converting into T3.
- 15:25SPEAKER_01: You said something really profound about the fact that that's kind of the light switch for mitochondria and our mitochondria health, mitochondrial health.
- 15:33SPEAKER_01: How can we hack our mitochondrial system with activation?
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: And I'm kind of leading you because I know what you're going to say, but it's pretty profound that we can influence the production of our mitochondria and address that on a cellular level.
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: So what does that look like in regard to hypothyroidism and autoimmune in general?
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, every day we take protandem NRF2 to clean up the rust, but the energy is a whole nother part of the cell, and that it comes from the mitochondria, the mitomitochondria.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: Like I think we all learned that in middle school.
- 16:03SPEAKER_00: It is the energy powerhouse of the cell.
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: And, you know, you don't just have one in every cell, you have a bunch.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: And you want more because you want your cells to have enough energy to do their job.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: And Protandum NRF1 is the other part of what's called the dual synergizer.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: And I recommend that to every single client who I have who has Hashimoto's because they need to be addressing the root causes.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: They need to be cleaning up the cells and they need to be helping their mitochondria be healthy, do what they're supposed to do, and be more active, like have more mitochondria, producing more energy.
- 16:40SPEAKER_00: That is key, very key.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: I had one client and she I don't know, there was something going on in her life.
- 16:50SPEAKER_00: She was distracted.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: She didn't realize that her subscription had lapsed.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: Like she did something.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: And so she was not taking her dual synergizer for a while.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: And her husband wasn't either.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: And they didn't notice because, like I said, life was lifing.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: And she called me and she told me, she's like, Esther, we went in for COVID testing.
- 17:09SPEAKER_00: We were both so tired.
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: We had no idea what was going on.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: Like I was wondering if it was my Hashimoto's, but my husband was also like feeling this way.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: COVID tests were negative.
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: And that's when she realized, oh, we're out of our dual synergizer.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: She said, we will never go without this again because it's working on the cellular level to provide what your body already is designed to do.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: It's not a medication, it's not like an upper.
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: It's giving your body the instructions to do what your body is designed to do, to clean up the cells and help your cells produce the energy that they're designed for.
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: Not too much, not too little.
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: This is Goldilocks.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: This is your body doing what your body is designed to do.
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: And that's what makes this product line so profound, so set apart.
- 17:55SPEAKER_01: We always like to say activation versus supplementation.
- 17:59SPEAKER_01: You've probably heard people talking about activation on the internet, thinking, well, what is that?
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: It sounds really like science-y or whatever.
- 18:05SPEAKER_01: But truly, when you're addressing root cause and when you're signaling your body to heal and you turn on that mechanism, the body is the miracle and it can work better.
- 18:13SPEAKER_01: And that is why we say, and I'm sure you'll agree, Protandum NRF one and protandem NRF two is so foundational, you know, not only for anybody dealing with hypothyroidism or autoimmune, but for prevention.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: Because as we age, our body's biological processes, because of our toxic environment, diminishes greatly.
- 18:31SPEAKER_01: And then you throw in, like you said, those genetics, our predispositions to, you know, have have additional issues.
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: This is just such a profound way to, I always like to call it the best insurance policy.
- 18:43SPEAKER_01: We've been on the products now coming up to 15 years, and it just one of the was just a non-negotiable.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: So it's it's super foundational.
- 18:50SPEAKER_01: Okay, let's talk about gut.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: And obviously, you in the beginning of the podcast and presentation tonight, you talked about gut health and leaky gut and the importance of the role that that plays with hypothyroidism and as well autoimmune conditions.
- 19:05SPEAKER_01: Let's talk about that and why it's so important to support gut health from many different ways and aspects.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, your gut is in and around your gut, is about 70 to 80% of your immune system, depending on which research you read and you know what experts you follow.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: Whether it's 70 or 80%, that's a huge proportion of your immune system.
- 19:27SPEAKER_00: So we need to take care of our gut.
- 19:29SPEAKER_00: And that involves a lot of stuff.
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: Like, number one, are you pooping every day?
- 19:34SPEAKER_00: That's the first thing I ask somebody when we're talking about gut health.
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: Are you clearing it out?
- 19:39SPEAKER_00: I remember one patient I had in the ER and he hadn't pooped in over two weeks.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: And I was like, can you think of an outhouse?
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: Like sitting there for two weeks, you would not want to go into that outhouse and you have that in your gut.
- 19:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, let's get rid of that at least once a day.
- 19:57SPEAKER_00: Make sure you are cleaning things out in there.
- 20:00SPEAKER_00: And then making sure, you know, you have your prebiotics and your probiotics, making sure that that garden of your gut is healthy and robust.
- 20:08SPEAKER_00: And then there's things that you can also do to help the structure or the cell walls be stronger, and that is collagen.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: So there's a lot of different directions that people can go when they're looking at gut health.
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: And it can be a little overwhelming because anytime there's so many directions, like somebody's like, well, where do I start?
- 20:28SPEAKER_00: And then they don't start anywhere because they're overwhelmed.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: So, number one, first thing you want to focus on is are you pooping every day?
- 20:36SPEAKER_00: And if you're not pooping every day, let's get that figured out.
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: And there are things you can do, and then we can work on that garden of your gut or we work on the cell wall.
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: But there are natural things you can do and there are activators that you can use in order to help the gut.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: And I want to ask you like if I was telling you all of this, where would you want to start personally knowing what you know about the gut?
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: Because you've interviewed a lot of people.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: Oh, absolutely.
- 21:03SPEAKER_01: I mean, gut health is the is the foundation of everything in the body.
- 21:06SPEAKER_01: It communicates directly with our brain.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: Everything is aligning with our gut health.
- 21:11SPEAKER_01: And I think that addressing that, you know, we have to kind of push it a little bit further because of our toxic environment.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: Um, we're exposed, you know, it's the food we eat, even if you're eating organic and clean, as clean as possible.
- 21:24SPEAKER_01: Our nutrients are missing, right?
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: In our in our food source.
- 21:27SPEAKER_01: And so there's so much that's working against us.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: We have to take that proactive approach and activate that, those gut health peptides, which we can dive into.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: I know you and I kind of agree on this.
- 21:38SPEAKER_01: We talk collagen and p84 as foundational for repairing that gut lining.
- 21:43SPEAKER_01: But let's talk about that, why those two products are so incredible into really hacking the system and getting ahead ahead of your gut health.
- 21:52SPEAKER_01: And I think, you know, addressing if you do have autoimmune, it isn't a common knowledge that you probably have that leaky gut.
- 21:57SPEAKER_01: So let's talk about those two products and and Really dive deep as to why those are so imperative for gut health and foundational.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: The first one that came out of the two was the collagen, activating collagen.
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: So just like the protandem NRF2 and NRF1, you're taking something natural and it's telling your body to do what your body is designed to do.
- 22:16SPEAKER_00: So the activating collagen, you're taking something and it does have collagen peptides in it, but it also tells your body to make more collagen, which is so powerful.
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: I have looked at so many different collagen products on the market, and most of them have like one or two different types of collagen.
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: There's a couple that have up to 10 types, which our product also has 10 types, but I haven't found any that tell your body to create more collagen.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: If your body is creating something, it's creating the amount that you need, it's in the form that you need, it's in the form that your body can use.
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: And your gut lining is mostly made up of collagen.
- 22:56SPEAKER_00: And so if you are worried about leaky gut, then one obvious thing that you're gonna look at is what that gut lining is made of.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: Let's make more collagen so that your gut lining can be healthier.
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: And so when the activating collagen came out, the first my first initial thought was, I don't really care about my hair, skin, and nails.
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: I mean, it would be nice, but it's not gonna work into my family budget.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: And then I was like, oh wait, leaky gut, my gut lining.
- 23:24SPEAKER_00: Maybe I really do care about this collagen.
- 23:28SPEAKER_00: And it's delicious too.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: I mean, remember that part, but it helps.
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: And I noticed it.
- 23:35SPEAKER_00: And I noticed it in my hair, skin, and nails, but I noticed it at a gut level.
- 23:39SPEAKER_00: And I was just so grateful that something natural was telling my body to do what was my body was supposed to do.
- 23:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think the skin, hair, and nails is the side effect.
- 23:48SPEAKER_01: I always tell people if you know what's going on the outside looks so good, imagine what's happening on the inside and your cells and in your gut and all of that.
- 23:55SPEAKER_01: And I I, as well as you, Esther, I was in the same place.
- 23:58SPEAKER_01: I'm like, how great can, you know, you always hear about collagen, but what people don't realize is that the majority of the protein in your body is made of collagen.
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: So, and that is all aspects, your organs, your eyes, your lungs, your, I mean, you go on and on.
- 24:12SPEAKER_01: It's like we're our bodies stop producing that as we age.
- 24:15SPEAKER_01: So the fact that this collagen turns on your body's production, own production itself, this is the difference between, again, just activation versus supplementation, right?
- 24:26SPEAKER_01: Supplements filling the void.
- 24:27SPEAKER_01: A lot of the times, bioavailability of supplements, especially if you have gut issues and autoimmune issues, you're not able to absorb a lot of what you're consuming, which, you know, that's a whole other kind of we can dive down a rabbit hole there.
- 24:40SPEAKER_01: But that's what is so profound about these products is the absorption and the bioavailability, especially with the collagen.
- 24:46SPEAKER_01: So I love that.
- 24:46SPEAKER_01: Let's talk P84.
- 24:48SPEAKER_01: This is one of those products we love biome, right?
- 24:51SPEAKER_01: It was a the company that Life Manage, you know, went in and bought.
- 24:56SPEAKER_01: And I'm so thankful because this product has been tried and true.
- 24:58SPEAKER_01: They put a lot of research and science behind it.
- 25:01SPEAKER_01: They know that foundation of gut health is imperative, the foundation.
- 25:05SPEAKER_01: Let's talk why that product is so profound.
- 25:07SPEAKER_01: And I know it is because every time I start a new product product that Life Manage creates, I go on and off of it to test it.
- 25:13SPEAKER_01: And I will say that my two weeks of getting off of that product, oh my gosh, I can't even begin to tell you my digestion was night and day.
- 25:22SPEAKER_01: My energy levels, I mean, I was blown away because I always like to test products.
- 25:27SPEAKER_01: And I was a believer after getting off of it for that two weeks.
- 25:30SPEAKER_01: I was climbing the walls to get it back into my system.
- 25:33SPEAKER_01: So let's talk about why that product is so profound for gut health.
- 25:37SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: It's a blend of, I mean, the 84 comes from the 84 ingredients or things that are in it.
- 25:43SPEAKER_00: And so it's reds and greens a lot.
- 25:46SPEAKER_00: And again, it tells your body to do what your body is designed to do.
- 25:49SPEAKER_00: So people have heard of peptides, maybe one or two.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: They've probably heard of insulin and they've heard of GLP1.
- 25:56SPEAKER_00: Like those are common peptides that people have heard of.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: Your gut makes a ton of peptides if your gut is working well.
- 26:03SPEAKER_00: If your gut is not working well, then the it produces less peptides or it produces more of the bad ones.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: So we don't want a lot of the, you know, one of the peptides that your gut creates tells your gut to be leaky.
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: It tells the little gaps to separate and it causes leaky gut.
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: We don't want that.
- 26:25SPEAKER_00: We want less of that one, and we want more of the other ones like GLP1.
- 26:29SPEAKER_00: And a healthy functioning gut is going to produce the Goldilocks range for you.
- 26:35SPEAKER_00: Not too much, not too little, and it's going to make more of the good ones and less of the bad ones.
- 26:41SPEAKER_00: And that's what I appreciate about P84, is it's all natural products.
- 26:47SPEAKER_00: And my body interprets it when I drink that as oh, okay, time to go all Goldilocks and make the perfect amount for what we need.
- 26:56SPEAKER_00: And there's how many different peptides are there that have been studied?
- 27:00SPEAKER_00: And I love this question, specifically how I'm asking that have been studied because it sounds like from the researchers, every time they study a different peptide for P84, they're like, oh yeah, it works on that one too.
- 27:12SPEAKER_00: So we don't know how many it works, but we know that the ones they've studied, P84 is activating.
- 27:18SPEAKER_00: Do you know the actual number currently for how many peptides they've studied?
- 27:23SPEAKER_01: Gosh, I think there's so many multiple at that, not I don't know the number, but that is a good question.
- 27:28SPEAKER_01: We should definitely get, you know, to the bottom of that.
- 27:30SPEAKER_01: But I do know just for me getting off of it, it must have been a lot, is all I'm saying.
- 27:36SPEAKER_01: So, and you know, the profound effect of being able to use that.
- 27:40SPEAKER_01: I want to say this.
- 27:41SPEAKER_01: My sweet grandma, you know, had fallen last week, broke her hip, has been in the hospital, hasn't been able to eat.
- 27:48SPEAKER_01: And I finally convinced her to start the P84 life-changing.
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: She told me this morning, actually, oh my gosh, she's mixing it with her protein and water.
- 27:56SPEAKER_01: And she's like, it's the only thing that's hydrating me.
- 27:58SPEAKER_01: I don't know what it is, but it's clearing my brain up.
- 28:00SPEAKER_01: And she is like laid out.
- 28:02SPEAKER_01: So she it's hard to get her to take anything, but she has had some incredible results with all of that.
- 28:09SPEAKER_01: And I think, you know, I think as they do the studies and the research, we're just gonna find that it's more complex than we can think.
- 28:15SPEAKER_01: And what I love about that product also is it has probiotics and prebiotics and digestive enzymes.
- 28:21SPEAKER_01: It's so complex, it's not just, you know, the plants that are in it, it's the combination of the, you know, I think they say it's almost 10 gut health products in one product, which is incredible.
- 28:32SPEAKER_01: It saves you money in the long run by being able to eliminate your green powders and all the other things, plus your gut health support.
- 28:38SPEAKER_01: It's pretty incredible.
- 28:40SPEAKER_00: So yeah, it absolutely is.
- 28:42SPEAKER_00: And when you're looking at all of the different things, it really does save you money.
- 28:45SPEAKER_00: I just was helping somebody the other day, she had been on a round of antibiotics.
- 28:49SPEAKER_00: I'm like, you have to do pre and probiotics afterwards, non-negotiable.
- 28:55SPEAKER_00: You have to.
- 28:56SPEAKER_00: And so find a product that combines them or combine them yourself.
- 29:00SPEAKER_00: But you know what?
- 29:01SPEAKER_00: You will, I mean, this is a college student, she doesn't have a lot of money.
- 29:04SPEAKER_00: I was like, you will save money by finding a company or a product that has multiple things combined into one, even though it looks like more on the outset.
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: Your gut needs help.
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: And so find a good product.
- 29:19SPEAKER_00: And of course, I recommend it's the best.
- 29:22SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 29:23SPEAKER_01: And when you combine that, obviously, with our cellular activators, it skies the limit with that.
- 29:28SPEAKER_01: I just love it.
- 29:29SPEAKER_01: So what have we missed, Esther?
- 29:31SPEAKER_01: Gosh, this has been such an incredible, you know, 30 minutes so far.
- 29:34SPEAKER_01: What what are some additional things, maybe advice, you know, that someone may want to to address, whatever it might be as we're talking about hypothyroidism.
- 29:44SPEAKER_01: And um as we're wrapping up this webinar today, what what do you what do you think?
- 29:48SPEAKER_01: Let's talk more.
- 29:50SPEAKER_00: I think a couple, two things.
- 29:52SPEAKER_00: One would be you have friends who have hypothyroidism and they've just never mentioned it because they don't think it's a big deal.
- 30:00SPEAKER_00: When I got my diagnosis, I put it on Facebook because that's what you do.
- 30:03SPEAKER_00: And all of a sudden, like family members that I've known my entire life were messaging me, oh, I have that too.
- 30:10SPEAKER_00: Oh, your grandma, your aunt.
- 30:12SPEAKER_00: Like I found out all of these people had hypothyroidism and nobody had ever said anything.
- 30:18SPEAKER_00: And so, whoever is listening, you have friends and probably family members who have hypothyroidism, and they most likely do not know that there is an autoimmune condition that causes it in 80 or 90% of people.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: So they need to know, get the word out, because if you don't know that there is an autoimmune component to what's going on, then you can't be proactive to address all of the autoimmune causes and triggers.
- 30:49SPEAKER_00: You're just going to go to your doctor every six months, refill your prescription, and your thyroid is going to continue to be under attack until your thyroid can't function and your doctor is not going to care because they're just going to keep giving you the prescription.
- 31:04SPEAKER_00: So, number one, talk to your friends and family.
- 31:08SPEAKER_00: There, there is hope, but they can only grasp onto that hope if they know there's a problem.
- 31:13SPEAKER_00: And then the second thing is just always understand that autoimmune problems have two sides.
- 31:18SPEAKER_00: They all have two sides.
- 31:19SPEAKER_00: They have the immune system and they have the organ that's under attack.
- 31:23SPEAKER_00: And we need to be supporting both.
- 31:25SPEAKER_00: We need to be proactive in looking at the root causes and the symptoms of both, because there are always things that we can do.
- 31:33SPEAKER_00: Um, and that can be overwhelming to think there's always things you can do, but there's always simple things.
- 31:39SPEAKER_00: So just choose the one next thing and do that.
- 31:43SPEAKER_00: And one thing that I love about Life Vantage is, you know, the dual synergizer, the bare foundation.
- 31:51SPEAKER_00: That is what I want everybody on.
- 31:53SPEAKER_00: And then if you can add the P84 or the activating collagen, you know, there's more you can do.
- 31:57SPEAKER_00: But taking that dual synergizer every morning, it takes me what 10 seconds to throw the little capsules and pills in my mouth and swallow with some water.
- 32:06SPEAKER_00: And that is greatly impacting my day, my week, my month, everything.
- 32:13SPEAKER_00: Just a 10-second habit.
- 32:16SPEAKER_01: Such an easy thing.
- 32:17SPEAKER_01: And, you know, incorporating it into your daily routine for so many other reasons as well, you know, just understanding that it is your best insurance policy.
- 32:25SPEAKER_01: It's foundational above all other supplements.
- 32:28SPEAKER_01: And then building upon there, you're just going to see better results.
- 32:30SPEAKER_01: So I love it, Esther.
- 32:32SPEAKER_01: Such awesome advice.
- 32:34SPEAKER_01: And one thing I did want to point out, just one last question.
- 32:37SPEAKER_01: If somebody does go to their doctor and they're really not sure if they have hypothyroidism, we know that the traditional medical community doesn't know how to actually test properly.
- 32:46SPEAKER_01: What tests can they ask for?
- 32:47SPEAKER_01: Because I think that it's important that you mention that.
- 32:50SPEAKER_00: They want to ask for a full thyroid panel.
- 32:53SPEAKER_00: And if somebody just wants a PDF, I have a free PDF.
- 32:56SPEAKER_00: It's 10 questions to ask your doctor about thyroid stuff.
- 32:59SPEAKER_00: And I have the full panel in there.
- 33:01SPEAKER_00: But quickly, if you're taking notes, you want the TSH, that's what they're going to run.
- 33:05SPEAKER_00: You want the free T4, how many storage hormones are there available?
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: You want the free T3, how many ignition keys do you have?
- 33:13SPEAKER_00: You want the reverse T3, how many brake petals do we have?
- 33:17SPEAKER_00: And you want two different antibodies.
- 33:19SPEAKER_00: You want the thyroglobulin antibodies and then you want the TPO antibodies.
- 33:24SPEAKER_00: You want all of those because each one tells you something different about what's going on in your body.
- 33:30SPEAKER_00: And if you need to focus more on the immune side or the thyroid side, you know what you can do.
- 33:35SPEAKER_00: And as long as you're asking for labs, I always also ask for a vitamin D lab because that is crucial for autoimmune problems.
- 33:43SPEAKER_00: And as long as you're asking your doctor to get some labs, throw that one on as well.
- 33:47SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 33:47SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 33:48SPEAKER_01: And I love that Life Manage has a high quality D3 supplement with the K2.
- 33:52SPEAKER_01: So it's just kind of icing on the cake.
- 33:55SPEAKER_01: Well, thank you, Esther.
- 33:56SPEAKER_01: That was great information.
- 33:57SPEAKER_01: And we will definitely invite you back.
- 33:59SPEAKER_01: Uh, thank you for your wisdom and your knowledge and for really having the heart and the passion to understand a very complex subject and simplify it.
- 34:07SPEAKER_01: I was blown away by your ability to teach and to show us kind of the importance of uh the thyroid and why we want to focus on addressing our cellular health.
- 34:16SPEAKER_01: So thank you being for being with us and stay tuned.
- 34:19SPEAKER_01: Like I said, I was teasing up the fact that we are going to be talking about the new study, Protandem and RF2, that will be coming out.
- 34:26SPEAKER_01: So stay tuned.
- 34:27SPEAKER_01: We're excited to share that with you as well.
- 34:29SPEAKER_01: And have a blessed evening, everyone.
- 34:31SPEAKER_01: Take care now.
