- Brad Peters: Welcome to the Recipe for Results. This is your podcast extra for certification in the hotel, restaurant, and bar industry, brought to you by HRB Universal. This is the brief on the Jacksonville Serve Safe Food Protection Manager certification. This ANSI accredited HRB Universal program is built right on the FDA food code, and it's basically your blueprint for tackling sanitation risks and building a rock solid culture of safety in your restaurant. First up, the logistics. We're looking at July 31, 2026, running from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. down at the HRB Universal Training Center in Jacksonville, Florida, splitting the day into a morning review lecture and an afternoon electronic exam. Second, let's talk prep, because there is a catch. You absolutely have to complete the self-study via the HRB Universal Training Portal before you arrive. Think of this four-hour morning lecture as a final dress rehearsal, not the entire play, you have to learn your lines beforehand. The review is super fast-paced and literally won't cover every single test topic, so do not skip the prep. Finally, what's this gonna cost? For the whole shebang, the full advanced registration with the review and exam, it's $179. But hey, if you already learned your lines and are completely prepped, just grab the exam-only option for $129 and stroll in at 2 p.m. The exams are entirely electronic, so bring your own device or use a provided Amazon Fire tablet. And remember to hit up at HRBUN or call 855-255-155-25 four four seven two eight six for updates. Ultimately, earning the certification isn't just about checking some boring regulatory box, it's a critical investment in your food service career and the absolute safety of your customers.
