- 0:02SPEAKER_00: Hello, everyone, and welcome to another episode of Wellness Wednesday.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: My name is Jamie Williams, and I am always honored to be part of this platform.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: We've been doing these for over three years now, and we've had hundreds of episodes of bringing new conversations and new experts to the forefront to share their expertise and honestly give practical tips and strategies and hopefully help you walk away with the tools that you need to make good decisions when it comes to your health.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: When it comes to tonight is going to be the conversation about skin.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: And I'm very excited about that because I'll be honest, this has been a very noisy space, and it would be very hard to know what's good, what's bad, what's indifferent.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: So tonight I'm thrilled because I have Issa Dinerman here, who's been a holistic aesthetician for nearly 23 years.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: He would look at her and think she must have started in her teenage years.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: Absolutely beautiful from inside out, but brings such a wealth of knowledge when it comes to skin health.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: And I'm really passionate about this conversation tonight.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: And I'm just going to show you why, because I really believe that pictures are worth a thousand words and why this hits hard for me.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: Because as a teenager, I just want to show you this.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: Back in 2016, before I became educated about different tools and strategies to really empower my health that changes from the inside out, my life had always been insecure when it came to how I looked.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: Some people hide behind makeup, some people are self-conscious about their teeth, they're self-conscious about their weight, whatever that might be.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: But for me, it has always been my skin.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: As a teenager, me and both my brothers, we did rounds of Accutane.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: And that's something I wish we could undo.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: We didn't know back then what how toxic some of these things are for our bodies.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: And honestly, back then in the 1900s, we didn't have the conversation about nutrition and gut health and things that influence our skin.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: And to be honest, there's probably not a wide range of healthy cosmetic products that were affordable for a teenager.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: So this has been decades, decades of insecurity.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: And when you look at this 2016 picture, this was actually after having two children, still struggling with acne.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: I was 32 years old at the time in this picture, hyperpigmentation, scarring, blotchiness.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: Like I just I hated my skin.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: And then you look at the transformation to 2023, out in the rain, no filters, like feeling like I finally got a glow back and feeling healthy.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: So, you guys, this is what I want.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Maybe you guys resonate with this.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: Maybe this is somebody else that has struggled with this conversation.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: It's something that maybe you've been insecure about.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: But this is what I want to show you is what changed for me is finding the knowledge and finding the tools that help me change this story for myself.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: And that's part of why you're invited into this conversation tonight because you're gonna learn about powerful ways when we're talking about true root cause radiance.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: And I love that title because that is exactly what Issa is all about.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: When you start to look at root cause that we're talking about inside out, and these are some of my friends.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: This is my friend here that lives in in Nebraska with me.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: You can just see the changes that happen when we find the right tools to really help ourselves do better.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: So, you guys, that's what I wanted to share, just the picture, because I I really do believe a picture is worth a thousand words.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: And that's why I wanted to share my own story.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: Somebody took the mat off the chair so my top perfectly using.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Hold on.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: Let me find that.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: Okay, so if Issa, if you would, I would love for you to just share a little bit about even how you got into this area of health.
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: Thank you, Jamie.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: Thanks everybody for coming on tonight.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: So I I came from a background, honestly, Jamie, in New York and in business.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: I had worked in international business and had a had a a health wake-up call in my early 30s.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: And after I got back to work, part of the part of my recovery or part of what happened to me was I lost my hearing, I'm hearing impaired.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: And so I got back into doing what I was doing.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: And it was really just it was rattling for me.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: And the phones and the ringing and all these things.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: And so I decided that I got real quiet and thought, what do I want to do?
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: And I knew that I wanted to do something in the healing space because that had always resonated with me.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: And I decided I wanted to be an aesthetician.
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: And because I believed I was on that healing journey for myself, I immediately dove into holistic aesthetics.
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: And that's been my practice for almost 23 years.
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: I've always focused on that inside out approach to beautiful skin and to healthy aging.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: I love this because this is really going to dive into the conversation tonight because we're talking about the big picture.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: That's really what we want to kick this off talking about.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: So I know that there's a lot of misconceptions when it comes to what people believe can create healthy skin.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: A lot of things are superficial, but I would love for you to really talk about why do you believe the skin is a reflection of what's happening on the inside?
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: Yes, Jamie.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: And so just adding on what we what we just said, you know, one of the reasons that I've spent so long in this field is because I've realized over the years that our skin is incredibly intelligent and it's constantly communicating with us.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: And instead of us asking, like, thank you for being vulnerable, Jamie, and showing your photos, because this is a struggle that many people have.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: Instead of asking, how do I cover this up?
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: What we're, what we hope that you take away from this tonight is asking, what is my skin trying to tell me?
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: What is going on, you know, inside?
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: And so skin is a reflection of health.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: And our skin is actually our largest organ, and it's the first place where internal imbalance becomes visible.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: Everyone can probably relate to this.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: And sometimes we'll look and say a breakout is just a breakout, but those outward, outward signs are often a sign of something that's going on internally, such as inflammation, maybe hormonal imbalances, digestive issues, chronic stress, lack of sleep.
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: There's so many, so many different things, nutritional deficiencies as well, and even oxidative stress and the impact that that has on our cells.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: And so, you know, remembering that the skin is just the messenger, it's not really the problem.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: That is really helpful.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: Um, I think when we look back, when I look back at my pictures, no one ever talked about what food, what nutrition, what stress, what products, like what chemicals influence what's actually happening.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: And I love that you just said that there's a messenger, like it's trying to tell you something.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: And I've heard this before from different dermatologists, and I think you would probably agree.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: When there's something inflammatory that presents itself to the surface, that's your body telling you something.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: There's something going on inside that needs address.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: So I want you to kind of elaborate on the gut health side of it because I think that that's a piece.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: I and I have a teenage daughter, so we're entering these years.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: This is kind of off script, but I would love for you to kind of touch on the influence that that maybe gut health and nutrition have when it comes to what our skin looks like.
- 7:20SPEAKER_01: Everything.
- 7:20SPEAKER_01: We all know that when our gut health is imbalanced, when our microbiome is imbalanced, ask yourself, how do you feel when that's the case?
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: And we're often not not feeling great.
- 7:31SPEAKER_01: And so our skin, again, being the largest organ, is going to reflect that.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: And these imbalances can come from different medications, perhaps.
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: Again, diet, diet is huge, stress and lack of sleep, some of the things that we mentioned earlier.
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: And, you know, a lot of a lot of practitioners don't look at this.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: They're not looking at that.
- 7:51SPEAKER_01: And when I have someone on my table and I'm seeing them say, I don't like how red my cheeks are.
- 7:56SPEAKER_01: You know, everything I wash my face with water and my cheeks are inflamed.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: And what what cream do you have?
- 8:02SPEAKER_01: And that's, I think, something that a lot of people need to stop asking is what miracle cream can fix this, right?
- 8:09SPEAKER_01: So I'll just say to them, we need to, how's your gut health?
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: How, how, you know, how's your elimination?
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: How's your sleep?
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: All of these things.
- 8:18SPEAKER_01: How's your diet?
- 8:18SPEAKER_01: Are you eating lots of raw fruits and vegetables, things like that, water intake?
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: And so it's everything, Jamie.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: And uh, and and not a lot of people are really looking at that.
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: I think if people really tuned in to what they were consuming and what the output looks like, whether that's the energy output, the way that you feel, or the way that you look, you would find some connected pieces that maybe I can eliminate some of these things, maybe I can make some positive changes because it will change the way I look and feel.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: So I love that you're sharing about that because I think that a lot of people need maybe a little bit more awareness because especially when it comes to nutrition, there's a lot of things that hide in the foods that we're not aware of.
- 8:59SPEAKER_00: And maybe that's something that's causing a trigger of inflammation in our skin and probably somewhere else inside of our body.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: So I would love to kind of pivot to talking about healthy strategies when it comes to people trying to achieve that healthy radiant glow.
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: So I believe everybody probably truly wants to age well.
- 9:16SPEAKER_00: They want to look good, they want to feel good.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: But what does healthy aging for you actually mean?
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: What do you feel that encompasses what healthy aging looks like?
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: That's a great question.
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: I I look at healthy aging, number one, is how we feel, because if we're feeling good and we are, we feel vibrant, we're happy, we have joy, all of these things, you know, if we feel connected to to purpose and community, all of these things are going to reflect in how we look.
- 9:45SPEAKER_01: And and how we look is how people perceive how we're aging, right?
- 9:49SPEAKER_01: So, you know, I always start with curiosity with people, you know, just in all in all areas, asking Jamie about sleep, about stress, nutrition, digestive health, hydration.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: We just talked about some of these lifestyle.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: And because if we don't understand really what's happening, we're just chasing symptoms.
- 10:07SPEAKER_01: And so healthy aging to me is all all-encompassing.
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: It's a whole approach, a holistic approach.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: It is.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: I totally feel like when people feel good, there's a glow, there's a radiance about them because that energy, they look youthful, they look vibrant, and that's really what everybody's trying to achieve, honestly.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: But I would love to know because this is where your expertise comes in, what are some of the most common skin mistakes that people make that might actually be hurting their skin?
- 10:36SPEAKER_01: Well, one of the biggest mistakes I think that people make is overdoing everything and thinking that the more that you're doing to your skin, the better it's going to look.
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: When often, if we just back off on everything and and look at some of the factors that we just spoke about: nutrition, water intake, hydration, reducing oxidative stress, reducing environmental stress, reducing toxic burden, these are the things that I think people should look at.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: So I've heard this before that your your skin has its own like microbiome.
- 11:11SPEAKER_01: It does.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: It does.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: So I've had this conversation with lots of ladies over the course of time, and it seems like everything that we have, every cleanser that we has have, especially over-the-counter things, are heavy on the exfoliance.
- 11:26SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 11:27SPEAKER_01: And tell me about that.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: Is that something that's helpful, hurtful, indifferent?
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: It's exfoliation is important, Jamie, especially because as we age, our our cell turnover slows.
- 11:38SPEAKER_01: And so we do need some exfoliation, but a lot of people are overdoing it and do, you know, doing it daily and doing it with chemicals.
- 11:46SPEAKER_01: And so what we want to do is if we are looking at exfoliance, we want something natural like cranberry peptides are great.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: There's lots of different plant-based papaya and papane and different things, lots of different plant-based components that we can use.
- 12:01SPEAKER_01: But uh I see a lot of young people.
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: I have a 15-year-old, and a lot of young people and her demographic, Scarlett isn't one of them, but you know, many of them are overdoing it.
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: Teenagers do not need, you know, a retinol, which is a chemical compound.
- 12:17SPEAKER_01: Teenagers, you know, don't need to be using these plastic shavers that you can buy at TJ Maxx, you know, at the checkout on their skin.
- 12:27SPEAKER_01: And so there's a lot happening that's affecting barrier.
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: And when the barrier is disrupted, obviously the microbiome is disrupted of the skin, and that's going to cause other issues, breakouts and rashy looking skin, redness, reactive skin, all of that.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: When I was a teenager, I I want to just maybe highlight this conversation here.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: Because when I was a teenager back back in that day, like proactive and those things were very popular things.
- 12:55SPEAKER_00: But what I started to notice is when I would dry my face, my towel was actually bleached.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: And I that's what was my first my first experience remembering what am I putting on my skin?
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: Because that's really that that caught my attention because I'm like, if this is bleaching my towel, what is it doing to my skin?
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: So if you could, I mean, there's so many things that that we could talk about when it comes to skincare, but you mentioned a couple things just recently, and a lot of them were fruit extracts.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: And there's probably a word in there that you guys know that they are very rich in, which is antioxidants.
- 13:32SPEAKER_01: Antioxidants, yes.
- 13:33SPEAKER_00: So why are antioxidants powerful when it comes to your health and your and your skin specifically?
- 13:39SPEAKER_01: Oh well, antioxidants are so important because they combat free radical damage, and free radical damage is actual damage to the health of the cell.
- 13:48SPEAKER_01: And when the cell is is has excessive free radical damage, it's not going to function as well.
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: And so, you know, the it it it's it's everything.
- 14:00SPEAKER_01: It's everything.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: So I know that there's a lot of people that are asking, I saw a question in the chat too, just when you mentioned earlier at the beginning about environmental factors, someone asked, could mold influence, mold in your home influence what happens on your skin.
- 14:17SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 14:18SPEAKER_01: And just speaking to what we were just sharing about, you know, mold, if we know that if we're in in an in an environment that has mold, it's going to affect our overall health, every cell in our body.
- 14:30SPEAKER_01: And so we're going to see that reflect outward in the skin.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: When you talk about oxidative stress and you now pivoted into the cellular health, like that is really where we start to dive into root-caused wellness.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: When we can start to really influence what's happening inside, it will present itself to the outside, and that's creating real healing.
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: And that's where I think both you both you and I have been drawn into this conversation of activation because it's doing things differently and it's really looking at the biggest picture.
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: So when it comes to internal wellness and how we talk about your philosophy on the skin, that it starts from the inside.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: What do you look for when it comes to additional tools to support inside out health when it comes to supplements or products that are helpful for people trying to achieve healthy skin?
- 15:19SPEAKER_01: Great, great question, Jamie.
- 15:21SPEAKER_01: So, you know, inflammation or oxidative stress, which is the precursor to inflammation, is like a slow burning fire inside of the body.
- 15:29SPEAKER_01: So addressing it at a cellular level with products that activate our cells to make antioxidants is so important.
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: When I learned this, I remember as an esthetician, as a newer esthetician, the newest vitamin C would come out and we would cut an apple open and leave it on the counter, and we would put our new vitamin C on half of it and let the other half be exposed to the air.
- 15:53SPEAKER_01: And we would watch the half that didn't have the antioxidant support on it turn brown faster, right?
- 15:59SPEAKER_01: And we would say to people, look, look what antioxidants can do topically.
- 16:03SPEAKER_01: But as we've learned and as science has shown us that what happens if we're creating those antioxidants inside our body, it's just so much, so much more powerful.
- 16:13SPEAKER_01: And so supporting it from within, this is where my philosophy has has just landed over the years.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: I love great skincare.
- 16:20SPEAKER_01: I I love professional treatments, but I also recognize that that skin is a living tissue.
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: And when it is treated properly and the cells are supported, it responds beautifully.
- 16:31SPEAKER_01: My my favorite topic, one of them is collagen.
- 16:35SPEAKER_01: And collagen is a widely mismarketed product on the market, you know, in this arena.
- 16:43SPEAKER_01: And so the right collagen is everything.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: And so activating our cells to create collagen and then prevent that breakdown of the collagen that we're creating.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: It's everything.
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: And collagen isn't just about wrinkles, it's not just a vanity conversation.
- 16:59SPEAKER_01: It's not just a conversation for women.
- 17:01SPEAKER_01: This is for everyone.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: And we know that it's part of our skin, our joints, our bones, our connected tissue, and that structural framework of our body.
- 17:10SPEAKER_01: So building collagen is only half of the equation, though, and protecting it is an even more important conversation.
- 17:17SPEAKER_01: The collagen that I love to advocate to my clients and my network is it actually addresses the gene that degrades collagen.
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: And so if we're constantly breaking down collagen faster than we can build it, it's like trying to fill a bathtub with water and not having the drain down completely.
- 17:38SPEAKER_01: So you're just you're kind of doing this.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: And so the right products matter.
- 17:42SPEAKER_01: And collagen is one of the most important things, Jamie, that that I'm an advocate of.
- 17:46SPEAKER_01: And then, of course, cellular stress, oxidative stress reducers, like our NRF2 activator, it's to me, to me, it has to be a part of the conversation when we're talking about skincare.
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: I absolutely agree with that wholeheartedly.
- 18:01SPEAKER_00: You guys, from the picture that you saw from 2016, before I taught I learned about what activation was, what oxidative stress was, which was literally breaking down my skin.
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: That's what was happening for me.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: And when I discovered Protanamin Rif II, which is this activator of the pathway that she's talking about, that turns on your body's ability to make its own antioxidant enzymes.
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: And this is how I've explained it to people so they understand why that's important.
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: What happens when you have a lot of bills and you don't have a lot of money?
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: When you can't pay the bills, your body can't perform.
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: And that's what happens as oxidative stress builds up.
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: So when we empower our body through using proteinaminer of two, that's what helps turn on that factory so we can pay the bills and get our body in a state of balance.
- 18:47SPEAKER_00: And that's where we start.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: That's like planting the roots and then layering in.
- 18:52SPEAKER_00: I love the collagen.
- 18:53SPEAKER_00: And I love that you said it's so much more than the vanity side, which is typically how collagen is marketed.
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: When I look at this, my background was as an exercise specialist in cardiac and pulmonary rehab and thinking about how important and vital collagen is to your vascular system, to your heart, to your brain, to your organs, and then experiencing that the effects of an activated collagen were night and day different from other collagens that I have used.
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: So can you kind of talk to that on the collagen side of it?
- 19:21SPEAKER_00: Is what makes this true science liquid collagen different from all of the other collagens that are on the market?
- 19:28SPEAKER_00: Because there is something that stands out.
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: Well, you know, every day, Jamie, just going back to that that that free radical concept, and free radicals are our bodies create free radicals every day through normal metabolism, again, through stress, poor diet, environmental toxins, UV exposure, all of the above.
- 19:48SPEAKER_01: Even exercise, even in our in our efforts to be healthy, we're creating free radicals, and that's normal.
- 19:54SPEAKER_01: But the challenge comes when those free radicals outnumber the antioxidants.
- 19:59SPEAKER_01: And so, Jamie, you know, you mentioned about our NRF2 activator.
- 20:04SPEAKER_01: When paired with an activating collagen, like the one that I was just explaining earlier, we're able to reduce that oxidative stress while turning on the gene expression to create collagen.
- 20:18SPEAKER_01: So creating this vital protein in the body.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: You're reducing, you're reducing oxidative stress by creating antioxidants.
- 20:26SPEAKER_01: Your cells are making them, and then you're also creating your own collagen production and preventing the degradation of it.
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: So it's so important.
- 20:34SPEAKER_01: And over time, collagen degradation can contributes to exactly what your photo showed, Jamie: inflammation, hyperpigmentation, slower healing.
- 20:44SPEAKER_01: If you if you've got a wound on your face or a breakout, it's going to heal a lot slower.
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: And then, of course, the visible signs of aging and supporting the body's own antioxidants defenses just becomes incredibly important as we age.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: Do you have, I would love to have you share because you know the most about this, the NRF2 activated skincare line.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: Is that something that stands out to you as something from the outside approach?
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: When we talk about the healthy glow stack, proteanum, and collagen as the inside, what can we do from the outside to combat the signs of aging as well?
- 21:21SPEAKER_01: Yes, I I can speak to that because I'm I'm so passionate about people really checking what they're putting on their face.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: And I will tell you that the celebrity that's that's advocating for a certain skincare line on Instagram or you know, someone that's just throwing a product out there that perhaps has a filter on their face, really look for yourself at what what you're doing here when choosing a skincare line.
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: And for me, when I saw that this skincare line was actually formulated by after Louisiana State University did two studies actually on our flagship product on the NRF2 activator that we've been talking.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: About.
- 22:01SPEAKER_01: I thought, holy cow, we can we can do this on internally.
- 22:05SPEAKER_01: We can, you know, reduce this oxidative stress internally as well as externally.
- 22:10SPEAKER_01: So I love that this is a simple system.
- 22:13SPEAKER_01: I do love that it is appealing to men, women, teenagers.
- 22:18SPEAKER_01: Everyone can use it.
- 22:20SPEAKER_01: And I also am someone who's always going to tell people to check what the ingredients, check what's in what you're putting on your skin, check what is in what your teenagers are putting on their skin because we're trying to reduce toxic burden, not add to it and disrupt more hormones and all of that.
- 22:37SPEAKER_01: So there's an app called Think Dirty.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: And I went to this app when our the skincare came out, and I saw that the products all rated as zero to a one.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: And I couldn't believe it.
- 22:49SPEAKER_01: Zero to one, meaning completely green, completely clean, free of any toxins, any any harmful ingredients.
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: And I also love the protective nature of what we have as well.
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: First of all, it doesn't strip the barrier of the skin.
- 23:03SPEAKER_01: It actually helps helps maintain that healthy barrier that we were speaking about earlier.
- 23:08SPEAKER_01: And you'll know that products are stripping the barrier, harmful skincare lines.
- 23:13SPEAKER_01: If you wash your face and your face looks really, you look really in a in a mirror close-up, and then you start to see the oil coming through the pores, right?
- 23:21SPEAKER_01: It means that you've stripped it too much and that protection is trying to come back up and maintain some balance.
- 23:28SPEAKER_01: So we have barrier control that happens with this simple skincare line, healthy exfoliation.
- 23:34SPEAKER_01: I mentioned earlier that there are plant-based compounds that we can use to exfoliate in a healthy way, like cranberry peptides.
- 23:43SPEAKER_01: That's one of my favorites.
- 23:44SPEAKER_01: So to build up those proteins in the skin in a gentle way.
- 23:48SPEAKER_01: And then protection.
- 23:56SPEAKER_01: I have to say, as an esthetician, for you know, over two decades, SPF is one of the things that many women don't want to wear because they don't want the feeling.
- 24:04SPEAKER_01: They don't want anything really occlusive or white on their face.
- 24:09SPEAKER_01: And so it's it's it's a beautiful line and it's something that I am I'm very passionate about sharing and being sure that people know about it.
- 24:17SPEAKER_00: It's a great combination for the inside out approach, and we're really helping.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: What I love is we're talking about skin care, but when we start talking about our ability to reduce that oxidative stress, that load inside of our body, it's only going to serve you systemically.
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: Everything in your body will feel better and be better protected when we can lower that oxidative stress inside of our body.
- 24:37SPEAKER_00: You are such a great educator, Issa, and so thankful for all of your knowledge.
- 24:40SPEAKER_00: I know that when people, especially in the social media world, it is noisy.
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: There are influencers that are sharing everything and you don't know what to trust.
- 24:51SPEAKER_00: So I would love if you from this conversation tonight, if you could just give people that might be feeling overwhelmed, that are looking for practical solutions in their everyday habits or even in some product suggestions, what would you walk away with with practical tips to really start a healthy routine for their skin?
- 25:10SPEAKER_01: Yes, practical tips.
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: Take a deep breath, everybody, quiet the noise.
- 25:14SPEAKER_01: I love that you mentioned Jamie social media and a lot of that.
- 25:18SPEAKER_01: But you know, we want ultimately, I believe that when our skin looks good, again, it's because we feel good on the inside.
- 25:26SPEAKER_01: And that helps us to feel more confident in how we're showing up.
- 25:29SPEAKER_01: So when someone feels overwhelmed, simplify.
- 25:32SPEAKER_01: Simplify first.
- 25:33SPEAKER_01: And a clean and gentle skincare routine, like the one that I just we were just sharing about, wearing SPF daily when you are out, and you know, be making sure that you're covering those ears and the lips and you know, different things, and being sure that your SPF is easy to apply for that reason.
- 25:52SPEAKER_01: Eat the colors of the rainbow, eating whole colorful foods, finding microbiome support product.
- 25:58SPEAKER_01: There's one that I just love that's that's a blend of all of the colors of the rainbow that we are supposed to be eating, because balancing that microbiome obviously is going to lead to better skin.
- 26:09SPEAKER_01: Prioritizing sleep, staying off devices once you get in bed, staying hydrated, moving your body, and ultimately, Jamie, just managing stress.
- 26:18SPEAKER_01: Those would be the most helpful tips, I would say.
- 26:21SPEAKER_01: And remembering that healthy skin is built through consistent choices.
- 26:27SPEAKER_01: It's consistency.
- 26:28SPEAKER_01: It's not, it's not a one-day fix.
- 26:31SPEAKER_01: And so it's not an overnight miracle.
- 26:33SPEAKER_01: And the biggest, you know, lesson that I've learned over almost 23 years in this business is that is that skin is beautiful.
- 26:43SPEAKER_01: It's something that we reveal.
- 26:45SPEAKER_01: So remember that each of you have this within you, and we are peeling back, peeling back a lot of what we're putting on and taking in and letting our body perform optimally.
- 26:57SPEAKER_01: We have a miracle body.
- 26:58SPEAKER_01: And so when we reduce inflammation and we support ourselves, we nourish our bodies, protect our skin with that the external products, and give our biology what it needs to thrive, our skin often reflects that health naturally.
- 27:13SPEAKER_01: So the glow that people are are looking for, everyone wants the glow.
- 27:17SPEAKER_01: It's not just cosmetic, it's a reflection of wellness.
- 27:20SPEAKER_01: So that's what I really want people to leave here tonight with Jamie.
- 27:23SPEAKER_01: This is a reflection of wellness.
- 27:25SPEAKER_01: And that kind of beauty is not a trend, and it does, it doesn't ever go out of style.
- 27:30SPEAKER_00: I could not have closed that any better.
- 27:33SPEAKER_00: You are an absolute walking example of true radiance from the inside out.
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: You said thank you so part of this conversation tonight.
- 27:40SPEAKER_00: You guys, thank you for joining us for this wellness Wednesday.
- 27:42SPEAKER_00: I hope that you walked away learning a little bit more.
- 27:45SPEAKER_00: Get back with the person that invited you to this conversation.
- 27:48SPEAKER_00: If you want more information about some of the things that we shared that are useful tools and resources that have helped so many people, especially as you saw my picture.
- 27:57SPEAKER_00: I wasn't sure I wanted to share that, but I feel like when you are talking about what your billboard is, it's how you present yourself and feeling confident inside and out is really what we want people to feel empowered when it comes to their health.
- 28:13SPEAKER_00: So come back every Wednesday, same time, and we have different topics each time.
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: So thank you again for spending your time with us.
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: And Issa, you guys, everybody give her a big thank you for being for this call tonight.
- 28:26SPEAKER_01: Thank you, everybody.
- 28:27SPEAKER_01: Thank you so much, Jamie.
- 28:29SPEAKER_01: I really enjoyed this.
