- 0:02Speaker 2: She's on the Money.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Hello, and welcome to She's on the Money, the podcast
- 0:24Speaker 3: for millennials who want financial freedom. This is our Friday
- 0:28Speaker 3: Drinks episode where we celebrate the money wins from the
- 0:30Speaker 3: She's on the Money community and we then share our
- 0:32Speaker 3: own money wins and confession. Georgia, what was this week's
- 0:36Speaker 3: deep dive?
- 0:37Speaker 4: Look, Vicki d I wasn't on it, So I'm going
- 0:39Speaker 4: to handle this one to Jessica.
- 0:41Speaker 1: I made my debut this week.
- 0:44Speaker 5: We spoke all about superannuation and the fact that a
- 0:47Speaker 5: lot of people may or may not have pulled it
- 0:49Speaker 5: out following off of the back of COVID last year,
- 0:52Speaker 5: and that exemption that allowed you to take up to
- 0:54Speaker 5: twenty thousand dollars in two installments out and what that
- 0:57Speaker 5: means for people. Turns out, it's a lot more than
- 1:00Speaker 5: people probably thought.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Cash cash money, Yeah, I love that. Ryan, what was
- 1:05Speaker 3: happening in this week's money Diary?
- 1:06Speaker 6: So this week's money Diary was the divorcee who and
- 1:10Speaker 6: I hate that this is a bit of a stereotype,
- 1:12Speaker 6: but it is. The husband knew all the bank accounts,
- 1:15Speaker 6: He just kind of took care of the money she
- 1:17Speaker 6: never worried about it and didn't have any financial literacy,
- 1:19Speaker 6: so she was kind of left not only with the
- 1:22Speaker 6: debts and stuff of a divorce, but not knowing anything.
- 1:24Speaker 6: And is it weird to say you're proud of someone
- 1:27Speaker 6: who you don't know?
- 1:28Speaker 3: No, No, I think we do that all the time.
- 1:30Speaker 3: And she's on the money.
- 1:31Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:31Speaker 6: So what she's done in the last twelve months to
- 1:34Speaker 6: kind of turn her finances around really incredible story from
- 1:37Speaker 6: a now yeah single doing her own thing, earning her
- 1:40Speaker 6: own money, getting it all set up legend.
- 1:43Speaker 3: I love that, Georgia. We don't really have anything for
- 1:46Speaker 3: you to talk about this way, but you know what
- 1:49Speaker 3: you're gonna do. You're going to introduce our newest team.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Yeah, am okay.
- 1:53Speaker 4: So sitting next to me is the wonderful, illustrious Tony
- 1:57Speaker 4: lost lots.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Where have you come from? Tony?
- 2:02Speaker 8: I used to work for Jason PJ. That's Breakfast Show.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:06Speaker 5: There's definitely some fans in the Shoes on the Money community,
- 2:08Speaker 5: because when we've tagged you in things in the lead
- 2:10Speaker 5: up to starting, people are like.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Oh my god, I love Tony. They do, And Tony,
- 2:14Speaker 3: you have your own podcast, don't you?
- 2:16Speaker 1: I do.
- 2:16Speaker 8: It's called one Trick, Tony. Thanks for the little shout o.
- 2:20Speaker 7: Is it currently on?
- 2:21Speaker 1: No, currently on a Riata?
- 2:24Speaker 9: The episode you can go listen to, Yeah, there's like
- 2:26Speaker 9: twenty there or yeah you binge.
- 2:28Speaker 3: On that get your film and you're really funny. So
- 2:31Speaker 3: I would definitely go listen to that.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Because I have you ever listened to it?
- 2:35Speaker 3: Undred percent? I've listened to it. I hired you.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Come on.
- 2:38Speaker 7: Now, which episode you listen to?
- 2:39Speaker 3: What was it called the most recent one?
- 2:44Speaker 1: The weirdest thing is I needed to know what she
- 2:46Speaker 1: was locked.
- 2:47Speaker 6: Because iHeartRadio and kisses owned by the same people. We've
- 2:51Speaker 6: actually brought Tony into her old workplace today.
- 2:53Speaker 3: It's not awkward at all.
- 2:55Speaker 9: No, it's not, except I left my charger on my
- 2:58Speaker 9: desk and I saw it as I was walking past,
- 3:00Speaker 9: and swat.
- 3:03Speaker 1: I love it.
- 3:03Speaker 3: I love it well. Welcome to the team. Welcome to Friday,
- 3:08Speaker 3: Jessica Ricci. What are we drinking this week?
- 3:11Speaker 5: This week we got fancy because we are in fact celebrating.
- 3:15Speaker 5: I certain someone at this table just joined the team
- 3:19Speaker 5: Tony laws.
- 3:20Speaker 7: Crap, Sorry, I just thought i'd buy something off. Oh thanks,
- 3:26Speaker 7: I regret everything.
- 3:28Speaker 5: But also a certain someone at this table was just
- 3:30Speaker 5: announced on the Forbes thirty Under thirty list.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Victory divine any idea?
- 3:36Speaker 3: Who that could be?
- 3:37Speaker 1: No idea?
- 3:38Speaker 8: It was also made.
- 3:43Speaker 5: So taking a step away from our usual dirty, dirty choices,
- 3:46Speaker 5: we're drinking the g hate What did he say?
- 3:50Speaker 3: It was called it's the number four gh mom, which
- 3:53Speaker 3: is a delightful champagne. I have had it before, I
- 3:56Speaker 3: have very smooth. But we did go to Dan Murphy's earlier.
- 4:00Speaker 3: We did didn't run into Will such a shame. However,
- 4:03Speaker 3: we did pick up some piping hot tea. We actually
- 4:05Speaker 3: wanted verve turns out because that's more pretty, more instagrammable
- 4:09Speaker 3: interaund the orange box.
- 4:11Speaker 5: Yeah, however, there was none in the fridge, and we
- 4:14Speaker 5: were like, oh, like, why isn't there any in the fridge?
- 4:16Speaker 5: We got someone to help us look. We thought maybe
- 4:18Speaker 5: we weren't looking properly. I do what I call a
- 4:20Speaker 5: James look whoa. It means you looked for it and
- 4:26Speaker 5: it was absolutely there, and you just didn't look hard enough,
- 4:28Speaker 5: and you didn't call your girlfriend and say where is it?
- 4:30Speaker 5: And I say, did you look where it's supposed to be?
- 4:32Speaker 5: And you say yes? And I go, if I come, look,
- 4:34Speaker 5: is it going to be there? And you say no?
- 4:36Speaker 5: And then I come and wow, I found it.
- 4:38Speaker 6: So Will wasn't there and we didn't get what we wanted.
- 4:40Speaker 6: What is the moral of this story?
- 4:41Speaker 7: From the Dann Murvi the tea.
- 4:43Speaker 5: The moral of this story is Dan Murvies have some
- 4:46Speaker 5: beef with a verve apparently, and so out of spite
- 4:50Speaker 5: they've taken them out of the fridge.
- 4:52Speaker 3: You can't buy it chilled. Yeah, so now you can't
- 4:55Speaker 3: buy it chilled. I'm on it. I really I actually
- 4:58Speaker 3: thought that was quite spiteful and hilarious.
- 5:00Speaker 5: I thought that's something I would do, So props to them.
- 5:06Speaker 3: You have a really good track record. No, I've never
- 5:09Speaker 3: opened one before, and I'm absolutely no. I don't want
- 5:12Speaker 3: to operate on the min.
- 5:15Speaker 6: Can you just explain last time you and I were
- 5:17Speaker 6: in this room with a bottle of sparkling.
- 5:19Speaker 9: Yeah, well you took like the metal part and the
- 5:22Speaker 9: foil and stuff off and just sat it on the
- 5:25Speaker 9: table and PJ was like, can you just put your
- 5:27Speaker 9: thumb on that because they do like spontaneously combust and
- 5:30Speaker 9: pop out, and Rhyme was like whatever, he like, put
- 5:34Speaker 9: it down on the table.
- 5:34Speaker 1: We're all standing here.
- 5:35Speaker 9: We were live on air, and it like literally just
- 5:37Speaker 9: popped open and burst into it.
- 5:39Speaker 8: And you can see that chip on the roof there,
- 5:42Speaker 8: that's where it hit.
- 5:43Speaker 1: And it was terrifying. I thought I was going to
- 5:45Speaker 1: be shot.
- 5:45Speaker 5: And I started like opening it in preparation for the
- 5:49Speaker 5: episode like we normally do it.
- 5:50Speaker 3: About three people at this table was like, shut down
- 5:53Speaker 3: your throat, like, do not do this to us.
- 5:57Speaker 7: Nervous silence.
- 6:02Speaker 4: Yeah, wait, Victoria, can we talk a little bit more
- 6:06Speaker 4: about this thirty under thirty situation?
- 6:07Speaker 3: I thought I got out of it.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Talk us through it.
- 6:10Speaker 3: I don't even know what to talk through.
- 6:12Speaker 4: Like.
- 6:13Speaker 3: It is a massive honor and I am absolutely so
- 6:16Speaker 3: proud of it. But I think the most important thing
- 6:18Speaker 3: here sounds a little bit silly, but the most important
- 6:20Speaker 3: thing here is like, none of this could have been
- 6:22Speaker 3: a chief without you guys.
- 6:24Speaker 7: I disagree.
- 6:25Speaker 6: I think it's all Victoria divine, this is your day,
- 6:28Speaker 6: it's not our day.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Not but that you can't do what we do without
- 6:31Speaker 3: a team behind us.
- 6:33Speaker 7: I'm going to turn v's mic off. How great is Victoria?
- 6:37Speaker 1: Ah?
- 6:38Speaker 4: God, where did it begin? Victoria is like probably the
- 6:41Speaker 4: hardest worker in the world is that too big a cult.
- 6:45Speaker 3: Probably not.
- 6:46Speaker 4: The woman is insane, and it is an absolute privileged
- 6:51Speaker 4: to work alongside you.
- 6:52Speaker 3: B Am, I going to cry.
- 6:53Speaker 4: I don't know really, but be congratulations to you is
- 6:58Speaker 4: a massive.
- 7:00Speaker 6: Now, Jess is working for Victoria a great privilege and
- 7:03Speaker 6: one of the most frustrating, stressful things you could do
- 7:06Speaker 6: with your day.
- 7:07Speaker 3: I was going to say, Kennedy both, No, it's so.
- 7:12Speaker 5: It's by far the best job I've ever had, and
- 7:14Speaker 5: you are the best bubb I've ever had by a
- 7:17Speaker 5: country mile. You look at you getting a little embarrassed
- 7:20Speaker 5: over there, so bashful, like you bring a lot of
- 7:24Speaker 5: love to our office and to our community, and I'm
- 7:27Speaker 5: just so grateful to be here, and I'm so excited
- 7:28Speaker 5: that you're going to mission. You say something nice fuzzies.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Oh no, he actually commented on it because I posted
- 7:36Speaker 3: it earlier in the week and said, you know, you're
- 7:39Speaker 3: really proud of these this is what I've done, And
- 7:41Speaker 3: he said, huge is true.
- 7:44Speaker 6: I'll believe it when I see Okay, they're cold. You
- 7:48Speaker 6: should be very proud and you deserve it. And I
- 7:49Speaker 6: remember when there was like rumors and hints that you
- 7:53Speaker 6: were very excited and you're like, maybe they're just you know,
- 7:56Speaker 6: being nice and stuff, and we're all like, no, like,
- 7:59Speaker 6: don't be too moder You have to appreciate the times
- 8:01Speaker 6: when you actually have some big wins. This is an
- 8:03Speaker 6: incredible win. I've been reading Forbes magazine for years and
- 8:06Speaker 6: now I know someone in it.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Yeah, cheers, very sweet of you. But do you know what,
- 8:14Speaker 3: he's even sweeter that she's on the money community Wins
- 8:17Speaker 3: of the Week.
- 8:18Speaker 5: My what a segue.
- 8:20Speaker 3: Thank you day.
- 8:22Speaker 6: Now this is actually in Forbes, if true, Monisha says,
- 8:28Speaker 6: I've loved seeing everyone smashing their goals, but sometimes I
- 8:31Speaker 6: feel a bit defeated by seeing how much debt I
- 8:34Speaker 6: have in my accounts. And then you know, he's just
- 8:36Speaker 6: been comparing herself. People are buying houses, they're smashing off goals,
- 8:39Speaker 6: and she gets a bit down. However, she said, I
- 8:42Speaker 6: have thanks to she's on the money. Just last week,
- 8:45Speaker 6: for the first time in my life, have over one
- 8:48Speaker 6: thousand dollars in my emergency fund. All right, Laura Stephens says,
- 8:55Speaker 6: back in twenty nineteen, I worked in a cafe and
- 8:58Speaker 6: they never paid me super.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Oh that's so disgusting.
- 9:01Speaker 6: Jack, She said, I lodged a complaint with the ATO
- 9:04Speaker 6: in twenty nineteen and completely forgot about it until last week.
- 9:08Speaker 6: They came looking for me and they said, we owe
- 9:10Speaker 6: you the money. You're gonna get paid.
- 9:12Speaker 3: God.
- 9:13Speaker 7: Always read the small print. Always follow up.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Also on that, if someone doesn't pay your super and
- 9:19Speaker 3: you're following them up not through the ATO, you're dating wrong.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Well yeah, but also you can deal with it outside
- 9:26Speaker 3: of that. If you're like, hey, small business, you need
- 9:28Speaker 3: to pay me my stuff. They actually owe you interest
- 9:31Speaker 3: on your super because you would have missed out on
- 9:33Speaker 3: compounding interest and did it in payments from your investment.
- 9:37Speaker 7: Laura well played.
- 9:38Speaker 3: She's a genius.
- 9:39Speaker 7: Emily says.
- 9:40Speaker 6: I was at a restaurant and the bar staff stuffed
- 9:42Speaker 6: up someone's gin cocktail and just gave it to me
- 9:44Speaker 6: for free.
- 9:45Speaker 5: Heck, yes, we love a beverage win a bev Rao
- 9:49Speaker 5: win Jeff Rago by the way.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Very smooth, very very nice.
- 9:53Speaker 6: Would you even ask what it was? If someone at
- 9:55Speaker 6: the bar was like, I just stuffed up this drink.
- 9:57Speaker 7: Do you want it?
- 9:58Speaker 1: Oh?
- 9:58Speaker 4: I would just take it? Yeah.
- 10:00Speaker 7: Exactly one hundred pc of the time.
- 10:01Speaker 3: You've literally never said no to a Friday night drinks rush.
- 10:05Speaker 3: So yeah, I always got around them. Yeah, I love it.
- 10:08Speaker 3: It's terrible.
- 10:10Speaker 6: So I think there could be a coincidences with the
- 10:13Speaker 6: names here, or they've done something very tricky. But Megan
- 10:16Speaker 6: Condo has said, I'm really excited, got a new job
- 10:19Speaker 6: and I have to move for it. So I have
- 10:22Speaker 6: Mari Condo styled, done a clear out and made eight
- 10:25Speaker 6: hundred dollars selling stuff on Facebook Marketplace.
- 10:27Speaker 3: That's a lot of money. That is really good. But
- 10:30Speaker 3: Marie Kondo just pay us for proper advertising on our podcast.
- 10:36Speaker 7: I am Megan, what acidence?
- 10:38Speaker 3: I love Marie Condo.
- 10:40Speaker 1: You should check out her series.
- 10:43Speaker 3: So Good on Netflix Exclusive.
- 10:46Speaker 6: Ayisha says that we're in the process of locking down
- 10:49Speaker 6: our wedding venue for twenty twenty three.
- 10:51Speaker 7: Does that sound like thirty years away?
- 10:54Speaker 3: It's at least thirty five.
- 10:55Speaker 7: Yeah, do you ask me.
- 10:56Speaker 6: We asked if we could do a two course meal
- 10:59Speaker 6: instead of the three course meal, and we're saving twenty
- 11:02Speaker 6: five dollars per.
- 11:03Speaker 7: Head, and you got of money that will add up.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Always ask the question, can you imagine twenty five dollars ahead?
- 11:10Speaker 3: That's a lot of money to be saving, and I'm
- 11:12Speaker 3: assuming here twenty five dollars that's much more expensive than
- 11:15Speaker 3: the average on trey or dessert.
- 11:17Speaker 6: Yeah, and she said they're still getting a cake in
- 11:19Speaker 6: after as well to act as dessert, so they would.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Have a main course I'm assuming, and then doing two.
- 11:24Speaker 3: What the hell? Who's paying twenty five dollars for entrees
- 11:27Speaker 3: at a wedding?
- 11:27Speaker 7: Hopefully you and we're all invited.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Hahha. Yes, if that ever happens, show.
- 11:32Speaker 6: Us your hands empty, Leah says. On Sunday, I didn't
- 11:39Speaker 6: know people still did this. On Sunday, three young kids
- 11:42Speaker 6: knocked on my door and asked if I wanted my car.
- 11:44Speaker 7: Washed for just ten dollars.
- 11:46Speaker 6: It's really cute, she said, ten dollars, What a win,
- 11:48Speaker 6: and they did a really good job.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Nice.
- 11:53Speaker 3: This makes me think of the fish movie shark Tail.
- 11:56Speaker 7: Sharktail is the video Cliff sharkd out.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:01Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like Will Smith as a fish.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Yeah, it's Christina yeah, and Missy Elliott as fish. It's
- 12:09Speaker 1: very good. I watched it only.
- 12:14Speaker 3: And that is what Tony brings to this team.
- 12:17Speaker 6: Guys, all right, second last one? Actually should we how much.
- 12:21Speaker 3: Of this do we want to hear so we don't
- 12:23Speaker 3: get into royalty trouble?
- 12:28Speaker 6: Allison says, we're building a house and the company told
- 12:30Speaker 6: us that due to the increase in labor and demand,
- 12:33Speaker 6: that they were going to charge us an extra six
- 12:35Speaker 6: and a half thousand dollars.
- 12:37Speaker 3: Oh my god, that's a big steam and.
- 12:38Speaker 6: Theyskenimo going, oh, sorry, guys, something happened six and a
- 12:41Speaker 6: half grand. So anyway, she looked through the original contract
- 12:44Speaker 6: that they signed in December, and it stated that if
- 12:46Speaker 6: there was a delay due to the builder's fault, that
- 12:49Speaker 6: they don't have to pay. So I sent an email
- 12:52Speaker 6: stating all the facts, says Allison. Put it in chronological order,
- 12:55Speaker 6: had to rush seats and emails and screenshots.
- 12:57Speaker 3: He took our screenshots.
- 12:58Speaker 6: The manager said, write our mistake. You don't owe us
- 13:02Speaker 6: any more money.
- 13:03Speaker 5: Yes, that was a big money win, just by having
- 13:06Speaker 5: her shit together and like being looking at a contract.
- 13:09Speaker 6: Yeah, or just asking even being like, oh, can I
- 13:12Speaker 6: just follow off? Is this actually correct?
- 13:14Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 13:15Speaker 7: Sometimes because some I think they just.
- 13:18Speaker 4: Just care.
- 13:18Speaker 5: Yeah, somebody in the office has gone, oh, like, it's
- 13:20Speaker 5: your fault and hasn't bothered to fact check on their end.
- 13:22Speaker 5: And if she hadn't fact checked on her end, she
- 13:25Speaker 5: would have paid for nothing. You were telling me this
- 13:26Speaker 5: the other day. Was this on the pod or was
- 13:28Speaker 5: this just a personal conversation about how at the end
- 13:32Speaker 5: of a lease.
- 13:33Speaker 3: Yeah, you don't actually have to clean your house to
- 13:36Speaker 3: pay us.
- 13:37Speaker 5: To fact check we said it on the pod. Yeah,
- 13:38Speaker 5: everyone like they real estate agents will try and get
- 13:40Speaker 5: you because they'll be like, oh, you have to pay
- 13:42Speaker 5: a clean or you have to do this, but you
- 13:43Speaker 5: only have to leave it in reasonable condition. And if
- 13:45Speaker 5: that means that there's a few marks on the shower door,
- 13:48Speaker 5: leave it in good condition.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Don't be a jerk.
- 13:50Speaker 5: But however, it doesn't have to be pristine and I can't.
- 13:53Speaker 7: Do anything about it.
- 13:54Speaker 3: They're just taking you for a ride.
- 13:56Speaker 5: Tony is shook.
- 13:57Speaker 9: Yeah I am, because I've gotten bitten by that so
- 14:00Speaker 9: many times and then being like come back and scrub
- 14:02Speaker 9: the stove again or whatever, like, obviously.
- 14:05Speaker 5: Leave it in a nice condition for the next person.
- 14:06Speaker 5: But if they're being a jerk over like a weed
- 14:09Speaker 5: in the front yard or something like, well, actually it's
- 14:11Speaker 5: in very reasonable condition.
- 14:12Speaker 3: If you want't take me to be cat and I
- 14:14Speaker 3: guarantee you they're back off.
- 14:15Speaker 7: Yeah, they can't be bothered with that money.
- 14:17Speaker 3: In typical Jess form, just threaten them it'll be all right.
- 14:21Speaker 7: And the final one is from this young ten out
- 14:24Speaker 7: of ten named Tony Lodge, who.
- 14:25Speaker 9: Says, my money in YEP is getting paid heaps of
- 14:29Speaker 9: dollar dollar bills at this new job.
- 14:34Speaker 8: Oh she's like rich, rich, Oh yeah, look at this
- 14:37Speaker 8: expensive Champagne.
- 14:40Speaker 3: To be back to the Maduri next year.
- 14:42Speaker 1: I can't wait.
- 14:50Speaker 3: All right, and now we are back, let's have a
- 14:52Speaker 3: chat about the winds and condessions from the ses on
- 14:54Speaker 3: the money team. Who's going to go first? Georgia, you're
- 14:58Speaker 3: literally pointing at yourself. I was chopping the old chest
- 15:02Speaker 3: because I could have beautiful.
- 15:06Speaker 7: How much of you?
- 15:07Speaker 4: Honestly, Champagne's straight to.
- 15:11Speaker 3: I now understand why he said I was pouring glasses
- 15:14Speaker 3: too big. So for those of you who can't see
- 15:17Speaker 3: the glasses, which is literally every listener, she had red
- 15:21Speaker 3: wine glasses and she filled them up in red wine style.
- 15:25Speaker 6: You did.
- 15:28Speaker 4: Not complain.
- 15:29Speaker 1: It is also it's warm in here as well. The
- 15:32Speaker 1: air con is not set down, so that's not helping exactly.
- 15:36Speaker 1: I've got your back.
- 15:39Speaker 3: A right, Tony. If you're going to get the team
- 15:40Speaker 3: off side, Georgia, what was your money with your confessions?
- 15:44Speaker 1: Okay?
- 15:45Speaker 4: So mine's the money in Confession this week, but it's
- 15:48Speaker 4: also a money conversation start oh you segment segment.
- 15:52Speaker 3: Okay, Well, actually, Glenn James, who runs my Millennial Money,
- 15:55Speaker 3: which is our biggest nemesis but also one of our
- 15:57Speaker 3: greatest friends. He's actually just brought out the money conversation cards, right.
- 16:02Speaker 3: Oh that's great. They look like the Cards against Humanity cards.
- 16:05Speaker 4: Wow.
- 16:06Speaker 3: And for those of you who are listening, please just
- 16:08Speaker 3: slide into his DMS and get him to send us
- 16:10Speaker 3: free cards because he hasn't sent us since brilliant yet
- 16:13Speaker 3: love it. We want them.
- 16:15Speaker 4: So a couple of days ago, I bought an oat
- 16:18Speaker 4: laste good were as you do, Thank you. It was
- 16:22Speaker 4: a regular science five dollars twenty. If I had whole milk,
- 16:26Speaker 4: it would have been four dollars twenty.
- 16:27Speaker 1: So that with the plant milk an extra dollar.
- 16:30Speaker 4: Though, what I want to know is is that okay?
- 16:33Speaker 4: Or is that not okay? Because it's oat it's common
- 16:36Speaker 4: chapter but it's a dollar.
- 16:38Speaker 5: But like, if you go to the shops and buy
- 16:40Speaker 5: normal milk, normal milk is like a dollar fifty, and
- 16:42Speaker 5: if you buy oat milk, oat milk's like four dollars but.
- 16:44Speaker 6: If they get milk clab like proper milk milk, that's
- 16:46Speaker 6: expensive as well. True, and I'm pretty sure a coffee
- 16:49Speaker 6: costs forty cents to make.
- 16:51Speaker 1: That's the that's the kicker.
- 16:53Speaker 4: It just feels like anything over five dollars is too
- 16:55Speaker 4: much to pay for, like a warm beverage.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Would we agree?
- 16:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I got right, I agree.
- 17:02Speaker 9: I don't I'm not a big takeaway coffee person because
- 17:05Speaker 9: I do get angry about it.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Well, I'll have you know, Tony that in the office
- 17:10Speaker 3: we actually have a coffee machine that can use for free.
- 17:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:12Speaker 8: I'm so excited about that free shitness money win.
- 17:18Speaker 6: Actually though, having a workplace that has like a good
- 17:21Speaker 6: coffee machine or a place to get coffee free is
- 17:23Speaker 6: genuinely like a huge money win.
- 17:25Speaker 4: Totally, totally, I love it. Anyway, that's the end of
- 17:27Speaker 4: my conversation.
- 17:29Speaker 7: I'm going to add to that, hands good, what is
- 17:32Speaker 7: my twelve month money win.
- 17:33Speaker 4: What is not trying to take away coffee?
- 17:36Speaker 5: It hasked me, twelve fell off the horse with that one, didn't?
- 17:39Speaker 3: Well, you do not keep calling this now. You just
- 17:42Speaker 3: got to talk about how you're a regular investor.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Just before we started recording, this.
- 17:46Speaker 9: You talked about how you went down and bought a
- 17:48Speaker 9: coffee and in front of the barista, and it was
- 17:51Speaker 9: a whole thing.
- 17:52Speaker 6: Yeah, the head of piece was down from Cide and
- 17:54Speaker 6: I sprayed him with cappuccino foam. So the idea was
- 17:57Speaker 6: I was going to put five dollars every day into spaceship,
- 18:00Speaker 6: because that was the five dollars I wasn't spending on coffee.
- 18:03Speaker 6: Evidence would suggest that sometimes I may have purchased caffeine. However,
- 18:07Speaker 6: that five dollars a day is kept coming out of
- 18:09Speaker 6: my account, and this week, having only started it in January,
- 18:12Speaker 6: it made it to over one thousand dollars in my account.
- 18:17Speaker 7: More figure from just five dollars a day.
- 18:19Speaker 1: And you don't even notice it, you really don't.
- 18:22Speaker 6: But I'll notice it when I take it out, and
- 18:24Speaker 6: you know, Bridge and I go on our honeymoon or something.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:29Speaker 6: And I just love telling that for V because she
- 18:30Speaker 6: said at the start of the year, when I said
- 18:32Speaker 6: we'll get to eighteen hundred, you doubted me.
- 18:35Speaker 3: No, I never doubted the investment. She doubted whether you'd commit.
- 18:39Speaker 5: Yeah, completely different thing.
- 18:40Speaker 3: And I didn't doubt whether you committed to the five
- 18:42Speaker 3: dollars a day, because we all know you work in radio,
- 18:44Speaker 3: so you can afford excuse, but we doubted your ability
- 18:49Speaker 3: to refrain from takeaway coffees for at least twelve months.
- 18:52Speaker 7: Well it seems you were right.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Thank you, Jessica. What is your money win or confession
- 18:57Speaker 3: this week?
- 18:58Speaker 5: Potentially the lameless money went with it ever had. But
- 19:01Speaker 5: James and I work, or my partner and I should
- 19:03Speaker 5: say work very different schedules, and so this week we're
- 19:06Speaker 5: having dinner together twice.
- 19:09Speaker 3: That's actually pretty impressive, like too yeah, I know.
- 19:12Speaker 5: Like I get home late, he gets home late. Like
- 19:13Speaker 5: there's just wearing out for you with friends one night.
- 19:15Speaker 5: It's just the way it worked out. But we did
- 19:16Speaker 5: our grocery shop on the weekend, and we shop weekly,
- 19:19Speaker 5: and this week our total for two people was like
- 19:22Speaker 5: fifty seven dollars.
- 19:24Speaker 3: I want receipts. I'll try and find it. I'll fish
- 19:28Speaker 3: it out of my bit and I will show you.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 19:29Speaker 3: I want receipts. I want to know what you're buying.
- 19:31Speaker 3: I want to what you're spending. I went to the
- 19:33Speaker 3: supermarket the other day, and that's actually my money win
- 19:36Speaker 3: or confession. My confession is I went to the supermarket
- 19:39Speaker 3: the other day in an attempt to be a little
- 19:41Speaker 3: bit healthier and get some smoothie ingredients. And I did
- 19:45Speaker 3: bring lunch one day this week, So that's pretty good.
- 19:48Speaker 3: One hundred and thirty two dollars And.
- 19:50Speaker 7: That was a good that was a win for you.
- 19:52Speaker 3: No, that was a confession.
- 19:54Speaker 7: One hundred and thirty two.
- 19:55Speaker 3: That's a lot of money to spend on something when
- 19:58Speaker 3: my partner doesn't eat any of that food.
- 20:00Speaker 7: Oh so that's just for you.
- 20:01Speaker 6: Yeah, confession, confession because I either thought one hundred and
- 20:05Speaker 6: thirty for the two of you might be.
- 20:06Speaker 3: One hundred and thirty sounds good if I'd not provided
- 20:09Speaker 3: the context that my partner's on light and easier all
- 20:13Speaker 3: of his meals have provided. So that's just me, Yeah,
- 20:17Speaker 3: and my expensive smoothie. That's not something I'm proud of.
- 20:21Speaker 7: At Least you brought lunch to work once this week.
- 20:24Speaker 3: At least I did that. I didn't come here to
- 20:25Speaker 3: be attacked. So, Tony, have you got another money win
- 20:28Speaker 3: or confession or is it just being paid at actual
- 20:30Speaker 3: salary by ses.
- 20:31Speaker 1: On the money?
- 20:32Speaker 4: Well?
- 20:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean that is my main win.
- 20:36Speaker 9: Good, But my boyfriend has been studying for the past
- 20:39Speaker 9: two years, and he's just started.
- 20:41Speaker 3: A job, which is very exciting.
- 20:44Speaker 9: Yeah. So he's a full time software developer now and
- 20:47Speaker 9: he got actually to pay and we went out for
- 20:50Speaker 9: like a sexy date night because we haven't been able
- 20:53Speaker 9: to do that for ages because I've been so poor
- 20:55Speaker 9: and COVID and everything. So I guess kind of a
- 20:58Speaker 9: money win. Also expensive, but like but yeah, so we're Yeah,
- 21:05Speaker 9: so we're like on track.
- 21:07Speaker 7: So, how how long have you been with your partner?
- 21:11Speaker 1: Like seven years?
- 21:12Speaker 3: Where's your ring?
- 21:13Speaker 6: And so you've been together seven years? How many How
- 21:18Speaker 6: long since you've both been employed full time at the
- 21:20Speaker 6: same time? Never?
- 21:22Speaker 9: Wow, So it's the first time that we've had like
- 21:26Speaker 9: proper like duel income.
- 21:29Speaker 3: So we're exciting.
- 21:30Speaker 9: Ever Yeah, so it is really exciting for us, Like
- 21:33Speaker 9: hopefully it means that we get on track and we
- 21:36Speaker 9: start getting our.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Shoes that but financial stability is so exciting and just
- 21:42Speaker 3: knowing what you can create and now looking at a
- 21:44Speaker 3: budget and knowing that you're going to be building instead
- 21:47Speaker 3: of like potentially scraping by and just being like, okay, cool,
- 21:50Speaker 3: how are we going to make one salary work?
- 21:52Speaker 1: Yeah? And it's hard. Yeah, So I guess that's my
- 21:56Speaker 1: money win? Does that count?
- 21:59Speaker 6: So when this happened, I said to Tony, if you
- 22:01Speaker 6: have lived off one like you know, even though scraping by,
- 22:06Speaker 6: you know that you're capable of living off one wage,
- 22:09Speaker 6: what are you going to do with all the savings
- 22:10Speaker 6: of the other wage?
- 22:11Speaker 7: And what was on your phone?
- 22:12Speaker 1: I'd been googling, audis.
- 22:17Speaker 3: That is not how we live with cheese on the money?
- 22:19Speaker 8: What are you doing?
- 22:20Speaker 1: You've got a Mercedes.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Okay two thousand under a bus it is from two
- 22:28Speaker 3: thousand and six.
- 22:29Speaker 1: It'd be a boogie bull.
- 22:30Speaker 2: Have you know that?
- 22:31Speaker 3: I got offered one thousand dollars to trade that in?
- 22:34Speaker 1: Oh wow? Were you really living high with the hog?
- 22:38Speaker 1: Thank you?
- 22:39Speaker 4: Do you know what?
- 22:40Speaker 3: I'm going to wrap it there, But before we do that,
- 22:42Speaker 3: we'd like to acknowledge and pay respect to Australia's Aboriginal
