- 1:23[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, Tasia.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks for joining us on the no like trust podcast.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_02]: Hi, Christine.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks so much for having me.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_02]: I'm so excited.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_02]: I love your videos.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_02]: I watch you all the time.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_02]: I just listened to your podcast that you released in January.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_02]: That was like the first time in two years.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_02]: You had the beat of.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_02]: product on from Gmail?
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, that was a really exciting opportunity Christine.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, I was so impressed.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_01]: That was amazing.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_01]: I couldn't believe it.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: I was like
- 1:54[SPEAKER_01]: I got an email.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_01]: Do you want to talk to Blake?
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, oh, yeah, I sure do.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_01]: Like, let's go.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_01]: And then they were so generous with me too, because as we'll discover today, I can be a little long-winded.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: And these sessions can often be quite short.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_01]: And they didn't kick me off right at the 15-minute mark.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like they were just like, okay, do one more question, you know?
- 2:16[SPEAKER_01]: I think a lot.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_02]: That was awesome.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_01]: They were really sweet.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_02]: It was quick and really rich.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_02]: It was like 15 or 18 minutes or something.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_02]: So, just tell everybody that name of your podcast, talk to techie to me, talk to techie to me.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: Talk to techie to me as a name of the podcast.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_01]: As I said, in the latest episode, which you were, that was months ago now.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_01]: Chris, I know, it's few and far between, it's really hard for me to keep consistent on there, putting out content when I'm also putting out weekly content on YouTube.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: I thought, you know, it's kind of cool.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_01]: I can leave it for the heavy hitters sometimes when I have like,
- 2:50[SPEAKER_01]: VPs of Google, that's cool, and yeah, but yeah, right?
- 2:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I was impressed.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_02]: I thought that was a very good way too.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, really nice.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_02]: So everybody talked to me that is Tasia's podcast.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_02]: But you'll see her more often on YouTube.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_02]: She's got amazing weekly YouTube videos that you and you send out an email with them too.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_02]: I get it every week, so it's awesome.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_02]: And I always learn something.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_02]: So we're going to learn a thing today.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_02]: Well, let's go back.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_02]: You are an expert on Google.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_02]: Why did you choose as a content creator?
- 3:24[SPEAKER_02]: Why did you choose to go all in on Google?
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I wish I had some really well planned out answer for you here.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: And I wish I could say it was something really cool, but honestly, it happened organically.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_01]: And I know that sounds so cheesy and like, yeah, sure it did, but it really, really did.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: So not to be too long when did Christine, but a couple things happened kind of at the same time.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_01]: COVID happened.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: If everybody remembers that.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: The time we survived a pandemic, I remember.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_01]: So that was happening right at the beginning of 2020.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_01]: And then, you know, it was a natural extension.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: I had my best friend say to me,
- 4:02[SPEAKER_01]: I, because remember schools were closed.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_01]: Like, do we all remember this?
- 4:05[SPEAKER_01]: Can we take a moment to be like, oh, yeah, we live through a thing and schools were closed in my friends of kids and I remember my best friend saying, you got to put out some piece of content on helpful tech and educational tech for children because we're going nuts.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_01]: you know because it was like this screen time was out of control and it wasn't productive and so really my bestie was the catalyst because I had a YouTube channel prior to that but I was not consistent.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: I was just, uh, willingly, if something interesting happened or something, I thought people might be interested.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'd throw up a video a couple times a year or you don't
- 4:46[SPEAKER_01]: put out helpful content.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, huh, and at the same time, my business, I run a video production company.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_01]: that was not a prioritize business as you can imagine when the pandemic hit.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_01]: So a lot of my clients were like, yeah, we just can't be paying for video right now.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_01]: Like we're trying to keep the lights on.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_01]: So I thought, well, now I'm going to have time.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: What do I, you know, what do I do?
- 5:08[SPEAKER_01]: So I did start with that topic that my best friend told me to do.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_01]: But it really happened.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, it was it was just, I put out a piece of content on like educational tech for kids.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_01]: like what people, you know, apps or what people clearance could be using to just be like, how do we get through this time?
- 5:26[SPEAKER_01]: Because this is really a crazy intense moment we're living through.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: And then I thought, well, I don't really have much else going on because literally overnight,
- 5:37[SPEAKER_01]: 85 to 90 pound of my business was almost gone.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_01]: So I thought, oh my God, now I have the time, I know.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_01]: I thought, now I have the time I might as well just make a weekly YouTube video because it's a lot of production.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's a lot of work.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: And so then I thought, if I'm going to do this, it's going to be done right in terms of.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's not one of those, oh, I'm going to go for virology and go crazy and do whatever.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's just mostly like, what do I find interesting?
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: What do I find helpful?
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: Is there something I was trying to figure out that I then figured out and was like, oh my god, this probably could help other people?
- 6:11[SPEAKER_01]: It literally started as that and because I happened to live and work in the Google ecosystem, it that was that natural extension.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: So it really is just based around that concept of like, yes, the vague is the helpful tech tips, but then within there it's like if I could find this useful or helpful and it's products and software and things I'm already kind of using or that I think people would find interesting, that's what it was.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: And the Google thing, it just happened.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't honestly
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'm gonna niche hard on Google, like that was not the intention, it just, it literally just happened because that's
- 6:52[SPEAKER_01]: what I use and work in every single day and in the Google.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_01]: And so it felt like this natural extension to me to do that.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_01]: And there's other stuff on there too, sure.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_01]: Like I sprinkle some other stuff in there.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: But it really was just something where I was like, well, this is going to be something for me that takes a big load off my plate in terms of like, what content can I do?
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: Or what's going to be helpful because I'm just living it.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_01]: So to me, it's like, yes, it's still a lot of work, obviously, because now thankfully business has picked up everything's really, really great, and I'm still doing the YouTube content every week.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_01]: So we're very busy now, which is wonderful, but it just helps as that extension.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: If I like how I told you, I was going to give you a short answer.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's a great answer because especially now, I mean, you could be doing a video every day because of AI, which will get into the AI piece later, but my God, like Google is changing on a daily basis, correct?
- 7:47[SPEAKER_02]: Because of AI.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_02]: Well, okay, so let me just go back to Google because I work inside Google workspace, Gmail, like all the things, Google Docs.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_02]: I have Google Drive for every client that I mean, it's, I'm entrenched too, but even like, I, I'm like, I know I'm missing the boat here.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_02]: Like, so what do you think is the biggest missed opportunity when people are working within the Google ecosystem?
- 8:13[SPEAKER_01]: I really think it's generally not.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_01]: using either all or any of the individual products to their full advantage or not using them in concert with each other.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: So kind of what I mean by that is like, I mean, you'll get it a little bit because you're your entrenched in the ecosystem, but one of the reasons I love the Google ecosystem is because it is all connected and a lot of the legwork is taken off of our plates.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: As an example, I mean, we could spend all day talking about this, but a quick example, let's talk
- 8:44[SPEAKER_01]: even without all of the crazy AI goodness that's now packed inside Gmail.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's like having the ability for something that comes in via email.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe it's a concept you're gonna go to.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe it's a client meeting, maybe it's a upcoming flight.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever it might be, a reservation from a restaurant that you booked on open table.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: Having that automatically added to your Google Calendar for you, it just takes one step off your plate.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: it's almost like oh I have somewhat of an assistant here and this is like a silly example right like but it's it's that but within the whole ecosystem so I just encourage people without us getting too long-winded about every single Google product in the ecosystem it's like if you work in Gmail or if you're like I use docs occasionally or I only use sheets or you know what I use Gemini I want you to look at it as more than just the base of what the tool is so Gmail is like yeah
- 9:37[SPEAKER_01]: but like it's so much more than that.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_01]: So I feel like if you're only using it for email, that's fine.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's great.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's a lovely interface.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's very user friendly.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: But there's so much more to it where you could be using it legitimately very similar to a personal assistant for free.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_01]: So it's things like that, we're using it to the full advantage and using it in concert with each other that I think are going to really be game changers for anyone using the ecosystem to say how can I work in harmony across these products.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, especially now with AI for sure.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_02]: I want to talk about Google Business Profiles, because I think that they're super important, and when I talk to my clients, that's one of the very first things.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_02]: Make sure you have a Google Business Profile and make sure that it's up to date.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_02]: Would you say that like,
- 10:24[SPEAKER_02]: In the whole scheme of marketing, would you agree with that that having a Google business profiles one of the most important ways to be found on Google?
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I mean, okay, we could literally, we could have 14 podcasts just on this topic.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_01]: Seriously, Christine, but you're not wrong.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it is one of the most important thing.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's not the only thing, of course.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_01]: it is one of the most important thing even now with how our Google search has changed.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: So I want everyone to keep in mind like this digital landscape now that we're part of here because it has shifted towards like, you know, Google used to call it SGE, which was like their search generative experience.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's basically the AI overviews now at the top of your
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, search.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_01]: So that has changed certain things.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: But for local discovery, I do think it is still crucial because it's it's also a way to build trust and build social proof like your profile holds reviews.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and like I don't want to get any kind of stats wrong and stats change every single day, but like there are some stats from Google and they have data that shows if if you have a complete business profile, it's 2.7 times more likely that you're going to be considered like a reputable.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_01]: by customers.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: And it sounds ridiculous, but it's like, ah, we Google stuff every day, right?
- 11:46[SPEAKER_01]: We Google places we want to stay.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_01]: We go, I mean, whatever, the silliest thing you can think of that you can Google.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_01]: What is the first thing we look at?
- 11:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like for me, it's reviews.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see exactly.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see like what are people saying?
- 11:59[SPEAKER_01]: Was this good?
- 12:00[SPEAKER_01]: And then I want to see, is this a sponsored review?
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: Because there's a lot of that going on right now, which could be a total other topic.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, I mean, so it really is important.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: And it's also
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: something when we talk about eliminating a lot of the friction with potential customers or people trying to find you online because it's it's like a zero click thing.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, someone's done one search and now bang they've got your phone number or your hours or your address perhaps.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if you're a solar planner, you may not have your address on there, but like they don't have to even click through to the website if they don't want to.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_01]: Still
- 12:37[SPEAKER_01]: They could have everything right there for you.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_01]: You're making it a lot easier for a user to do that.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_01]: Now there are caveats to that.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_01]: Why I say it is probably the most important.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's not the only important thing because of course, if you're a solo printer and like there's a difference in like,
- 12:52[SPEAKER_01]: a physical location or like a service area like you could say oh I service anyone across the country will then you you know you may not show up like with a local google business profile you're not going to show up somewhere like in a city 500 miles away right so that's when the organic SEO like website content yes with keyword is such is more important but you are correct at that top level there it is it is one of the most important things that someone can do
- 13:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and when you're a real estate agent, you are hyperlocal.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_02]: So that becomes really, really important.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_02]: One of the questions I get often is, well, should I put my reviews on zillow or realtor.com?
- 13:32[SPEAKER_02]: Or should I point people to go to Facebook page or should I put them on Google or should I do all of them?
- 13:40[SPEAKER_02]: What do you say to that?
- 13:41[SPEAKER_01]: I would honestly do something like a Google first funnel if you will.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_01]: There's all these options for people.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: You do not want to ask any clients to say, like, review me everywhere all that once, because there's going to be decision fatigue.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know what I mean?
- 13:55[SPEAKER_01]: People are just going to be like, I have decision fatigue.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm not going to do either or any and that is not what you want.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_01]: So I would make it again just like we talk with a business profile like how can you make it frictionless for your client send them a direct link to your Google reviews right and say leave me a review here and not just say leave a review, but ask for a specific type of review that you know is going to include certain keywords.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_01]: So that could be something like if you said.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_01]: You know, can you mention which neighborhood we focused on, you know, you're not asking the client to say where they live with an address, but you could say that way, they could be saying something like I was looking for a house in Old Town Scottsdale and Christine really came through above above above now.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_01]: Now you've suddenly got this review on Google that's got these keywords for like, Old Town Scottsdale real estate.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's got your name.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 14:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_01]: They're doing a lot of that like work for you when people are then searching for you.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I would also ensure, like say you've just closed with somebody, try to ask them within 24 hours, like you really want to do it while it's fresh, especially for something like real estate where people have a lot going on.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_01]: If someone's just sold or someone's just bought or someone's just rented or whatever it might be, they're busy.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_01]: So again, you want to hit it while it's top of mind to them, while they still feel a personal connection with you and like not a year has gone by and they're like,
- 15:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so you want to do that while it's fresh and make it easy.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_01]: I would say like if if you're someone that's got over 20 glowing Google reviews you don't necessarily have to keep pushing that Google first funnel
- 15:35[SPEAKER_01]: As long as things are still relevant, do you know what I mean?
- 15:37[SPEAKER_01]: Like if it's been a long time and you're like, oh my god, my latest review is like a year ago.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: I would think you want something a little more relevant than that because I want to make sure people are still, you know, you're still active.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_01]: You're still helping people.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_01]: People are so satisfied with your service.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: So you've gone above and beyond in XYZ.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_01]: But if you're getting that, that's when then maybe you can change the conversation with people and say,
- 16:00[SPEAKER_01]: maybe they give you a going review on Google.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_01]: And you can reply and you can say something like, this is so kind, like if you have a second, would you mind copying a pasting that onto my Zelo?
- 16:09[SPEAKER_01]: Profiler, whatever it might be, it would help me tremendously.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's a literal copy of a pasting.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_01]: you don't have to even say that in the reply.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_01]: I will say something with reviews on replies is you want to be trying to reply to every review you get within 24 hours.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_01]: I know that it might be overwhelming if some people are getting a lot.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_01]: If a review is negative, I still want you to reply because
- 16:34[SPEAKER_01]: Again, put yourself in the position of the consumer of a potential client like I want to see how you respond to that I don't If you're aggressive to the person and you're like a victim blaming them or whatever you're doing and being like, well, you were well, I'm not going to work with you because you seem you seem really like confrontational
- 16:54[SPEAKER_01]: And that's not my vibe, you know?
- 16:55[SPEAKER_01]: But if you're like, if you're, you take ownership of a thing or you discuss head on what the issue was and say the resolution or whatever, then I'm going, oh, well, this is a reasonable person.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe the person that left the mean review was just having a bad day or whatever.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_01]: You know?
- 17:11[SPEAKER_01]: And like, you're first in an even, yes.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's like, you wanna make sure you're doing that.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_01]: Have you ever like, like, looked at when people respond to like Airbnb stuff or like restaurant views, and they just like rip.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_01]: the person that left the room and I think I'm never going to use you.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to go to your restaurant.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to because like even if you're valid in that response and say the person was a lunatic, that left the review.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, you cannot do that publicly.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_01]: You just can't.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean, I'm getting on a tangent about replying to the reviews, but that's something too.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like, if you have the personal relationship, you could even say offline after you've replied.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: You could say, offline to them, like, thank you so much for leaving that review.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_01]: Do you mind copying and pacing it over here?
- 17:48[SPEAKER_01]: Would help me tremendously over on pillow.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_02]: Love it.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_02]: And this actually connects perfectly to what we've been talking about because clarity and your business isn't just about marketing, it's about what's happening behind the scenes too.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_02]: If you're a solopreneur, you know how this goes.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_02]: Receipts everywhere, expenses for gotten, and then tax season shows up, and, well, it's just not fun, right?
- 18:08[SPEAKER_02]: That's exactly why we built Bekeeper AI.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_02]: Bekeeper AI is an AI powered, human verified, conversational,
- 18:19[SPEAKER_02]: No apps to open, no software to learn, no tax season scrambling.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_02]: You simply text your expenses as they happen.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_02]: Bekeeper AI captures them and a real human verifies everything, so nothing slips through the cracks.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_02]: We're opening early access right now, and I'd love for you to be part of it.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_02]: Head to bekeeperAI.com slash waitlist to sign up.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_02]: That's the letter B, keeperai.com slash waitlist.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_02]: I'll see you there.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_02]: Let's talk about workspace.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_02]: Because I think there's a lot of confusion out there about what is workspace versus Google Drive.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_02]: And how does it all work together?
- 18:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, well, this is a loaded question.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_01]: Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha,
- 19:08[SPEAKER_01]: like your Google suite of apps.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_01]: So I want you to think of it like Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, you know, you could technically include Gemini in that now if you wanted to, although I don't think it's actually, you know, according to Google part of the Google Workspace ecosystem.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_01]: But it all works together in harmony.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_01]: So you know, that's really how you need to think about it.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_01]: The difference between that and Drive is Drive is is one product.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_01]: So when we're talking about Google Workspace as a whole, we're talking about like, oh, a plethora of those Google products working in concert with each other.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_01]: Drive, Google Drive is really like
- 19:46[SPEAKER_01]: I think of it like a garage, where you house all of your cars, if you will, so drive houses, docks, sheets, slides, forms, and the like.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_01]: And there's a lot of Gemini tools within each of these Google workspace products now, as well.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_01]: Google workspace is like, you can access, I don't want to get people confused because if they Google Google workspace, they're going to get a couple different.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_01]: different things come up and a lot of people are going to wonder, well, is it free is it not?
- 20:16[SPEAKER_01]: I say technically it is free because like you can have a free Gmail account that also gives you, it's a Google account.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_01]: So you also have drive and docs and sheets and slides and all the things.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_01]: But if you're a business, you're going to pay for your Google workspace account, if you will.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_01]: And there's, there's pro and there's AI, there's all these different names for Google loves a name and convention.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_01]: They change it.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_01]: I swear every beat Christine.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_01]: But like, it is, I would say it's worth it to pay for a pro version of Google Workspace.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_01]: Just so that you can access these extra, like say, Gemini, AI powered goodness that, you know, I'm sure we'll get into.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_01]: But does that make sense?
- 20:54[SPEAKER_01]: So like, you're, you know, it's basically like,
- 20:57[SPEAKER_01]: housing a lot of the different Google products.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_01]: That's your workspace.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_02]: If you're especially if you're like a team, and you have a bunch of people with your domain email, you can buy your, but you can have your Google-based domain emails within workspace.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_02]: And you can have it, you pay for a variety of different users on your team.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_02]: So that's an instant where you'd want it.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly, and thank you because you brought up a good point.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's really the biggest differentiator between like a free account and like if you're on a paid workspace is you have like a personalized Domain, but it's a Google account.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_01]: So like for me with when I run stuff through my YouTube stuff like I have an account that ends in Tasia custodie.com It's a Gmail account People, it doesn't say Gmail.com.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's a personalized Email address, but it is all run via Google ecosystem
- 21:55[SPEAKER_01]: So that's the difference where you're like, if you're wondering, like, do I have a pay to come?
- 21:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_01]: Do you have a specific domain?
- 22:01[SPEAKER_01]: And did you set that up?
- 22:02[SPEAKER_01]: Then you probably do.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, exactly.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_02]: Let me ask you about tasks and to-dos.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_02]: Because when I think about a real estate agent who's working with home buyers and home sellers,
- 22:17[SPEAKER_02]: The task to get them from the day they sign the agreement to the day they close is enormous, the taskless, right?
- 22:25[SPEAKER_02]: They have to go through numerous things to get to the closing table, whether you're a buyer or you're a seller.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_02]: And for many real estate agents, it's like cumbersome to figure out a way to manage all of that.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_02]: They use things like to do not to do.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_02]: Monday, and Trello, and Asana, and all these project management tools, and a lot of them use Google Sheets.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_02]: Is there an efficient way to utilize the Google ecosystem to manage a large task or a large project like getting a home buyer to close?
- 23:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, this is another loaded question we could be here all day, but I would say that people should look into Google workspace studio.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you spent a lot of time in there, but essentially we could do a whole podcast on it, but it's a way for you to create like automation flows.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_01]: As an example, you could set up a custom flow from your Google workspace
- 23:35[SPEAKER_01]: like, if I get this specific email from this specific client or this group of emails from XYZ or whatever it is, like you literally can customize it if you want.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_01]: Draft automatically draft an email with XYZ information blah blah blah.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_01]: So like it's taking like once you've set up a flow, it would be taking that load off your plate basically and really acting as like a true AI assisted in a way.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_01]: Now that would put it in your email drafts, so you would still
- 24:04[SPEAKER_01]: there are ways you could do that, but that's getting into a whole other thing.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_01]: But in that same vein, something like Google forms would be another great way for data entry and intake.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_01]: And again, in something like a Google workspace studio, you could set up a custom automated flows for that as well.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: So when a form is filled out, what's the action not taking place?
- 24:26[SPEAKER_01]: and you could create your step-by-step or when a specific form is filled out or when someone answers specific questions on a specific form.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the next thing.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's almost like an if then then that.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that whole if this then that.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: Remember that whole thing.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_01]: We had the app's on our phone.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's like that, but it's Google Workspace Studio.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_01]: I would encourage people to check it out.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_01]: There is a lot for free on Google Workspace Studio as well.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_01]: And there are templates you can work off of.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_01]: So you don't have to feel super overwhelmed right off the bat.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_01]: And it's very helpful for people to build those automation.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_01]: So that you're like, oh my gosh, this is kind of helped with this, you know, to do and task lists stuff.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_01]: And taking a lot of that off the plate essentially.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_01]: OK.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_02]: Very cool.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_02]: OK, Google Studio.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_02]: I am learning so much, Tasia.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_02]: OK, good.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, God.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_01]: We're gonna have to have 14 more conversations.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_02]: I want to talk about AI and Gmail because there, yes, I mean, your whole podcast.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to, you know, I'm going to put a link to that podcast in the show notes here, so that everybody goes back and listen to it.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_02]: But
- 25:33[SPEAKER_02]: Tell us, like, what are the new, it's not just sort of the overview, it's not just like the proof reading, like give us the skinny on what's happening with Gemini and Gmail.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_02]: Is it called Gemini and Gmail?
- 25:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, I refer to it as that.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_01]: That's, okay, really what it is.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, um, you know, they may not really say that's what's, but that is what's powering everything in there.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_01]: there's a lot of new new changes and like a lot of people when they think like of Gemini and Gmail they're thinking of like the basic things that we've had for a really long time that are still super helpful but you know like to help me write kind of features where when you're typing out email it's more than just
- 26:12[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, grammar.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to suggest stuff based on your tone of voice.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_01]: Great.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_01]: But one of the biggest features I love right now.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_01]: There's the AI overviews and there's AI inbox.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_01]: I love them both for different reasons.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_01]: So like the overviews will give you, like say, I open up an email thread.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_01]: say there's a lot going on and I'm sure like a lot of real estate agents probably have a ton of threads with so much information and it's like oh boy, these AI overviews sit at the top of your email thread and give you just that an overview of everything that's gone on in the thread.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_01]: It'll tell you if there's something you need to follow up on, it'll tell you like your schedule for this at this time, you know, here's someone provided a link for this thing or you know,
- 26:57[SPEAKER_01]: Think of it, really like we were just talking about the overviews in search, it's really like that, but in your inbox.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_01]: And that's another thing Google does nice within the ecosystem is visually things look very familiar to you.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_01]: So nothing ever becomes like when something changes, it's not like, ah, what's this?
- 27:13[SPEAKER_01]: No, you're already kind of it's it's integrated well, you're already kind of used to it visually.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't seem stark.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_01]: and all of a sudden, I don't know where.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_01]: So I love the eye overview.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_01]: The other thing I love that they announced is the AI in box.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_01]: This is going to be so great because, I mean, it's still in beta, so I want to keep that in mind.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_01]: But I've had such great success with it.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_01]: How I use it is, I use it at the beginning of my day, just to make sure I'm not going to be missing anything.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: What it does for you, it sits above your little inbox tab on the left-hand side of Gmail.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_01]: So you don't have to go into it if you don't want to, because people like get up and arms when Gmail changes anything and they don't want, you know, they love their existing inbox.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_01]: I get it.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_01]: I love my existing inbox.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_01]: What it gives you, essentially, not just an overview, but it breaks out for your action items, it breaks out for your to-do's, yes.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_01]: It's what we, it's not available right now.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_01]: It is available, it's in beta, and it is rolling out.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_01]: So like I'm going to like pop to mine right now to give you an example of like what mine says here, um, I have one to do and I have seven topics to catch up on based on like what's going on in my inbox.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_01]: And this is all based on what Gemini is determining is the most urgent matters in my inbox that I need to take care of.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: So it's pulling information.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_01]: So like right at the top, I have my suggested to do's.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_01]: You can mark them complete by the way.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_01]: in there.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_01]: Well, if you're like, oh, already did it or whatever you can market complete.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_01]: And they will be adding other updates to that as well.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_01]: That is actually a newer one.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like I think when it first came, you couldn't market complete and now you can, which is great.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_01]: And then you're going to have like all your topics to catch up on.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: And it's just this lovely little summation of just like, hey, so I'm so sent you an email about this thing.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_01]: here's the link directly to that email.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_01]: So like if you want to pop right to it right from your from your AI inbox, you can do that.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_01]: Here's an event that you have coming up.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: Here's this thing that you, um, you know, any subscriptions you have that are do or renewing sooner, whatever it might be.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's incredible.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_01]: And that's, I feel like, yeah, and I feel like it's going to be a game changer, you know, for real estate agents, because it really is shifting.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_01]: Gmail.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_01]: I know we kind of touched on it a bit earlier, but it's really shifting it from like, oh, this is just like your general inbox to know it's acting like a high level of administrative assistant.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, like providing me these, like you don't have to say to like anyone anymore, like what's on my to do list today?
- 29:45[SPEAKER_01]: What are my tasks?
- 29:46[SPEAKER_01]: What, you know, it's just this nice snapshot.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_01]: I just like to get that glance in the morning and make sure other people might have a different workflow on it, but it's really, really good.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_01]: And then the other thing that they did without, I don't know, I was spending so much time on Gmail, is the search experience in Gmail I've always loved.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_01]: Now, your search bar is still there.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_01]: It still exists, but it's an ask Gmail function, essentially, which I love it because you could now ask for things in more natural language.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_01]: Instead of like searching for like an old email or something,
- 30:17[SPEAKER_01]: Correct.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_01]: So you can still do that.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_01]: So again for anyone that's like, Oh, no, like I, because I love Google search.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_01]: I already loved, like, sorry, Gmail search.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_01]: I already loved it.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was great.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_01]: Like when you compare it to something like an outlook, I can never freaking find anything in outlook.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, my God.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_01]: But like, yes, it drives me nuts.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_01]: But like in Gmail, like, it's just always been such a superior search.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 30:38[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have to be worried about that experience.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_01]: You can still use it traditionally if you want, but now you can ask in a conversational way, just like you're used to asking, jab and eye, or your other LLM.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_01]: So it's nice because you can just say things like, you know, when was that?
- 30:54[SPEAKER_01]: meeting, you know, or what did we talk about in the meeting, in whatever, you know, and it'll pull from emails being like, oh, we see so and so message you on this date about this meeting and like it will link just like again, you're AI over these in Google search and I think it'll link directly to the email.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: So you can click this really like, oh, this is what to make sure it gives you the right content to buy the way like, you know, but you could say, yeah, that was that was a female right here perfect.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_01]: So that's a very quick overview of like the three latest.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_01]: and greatest hits, I hit in Gmail, that's amazing.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so that's what when we say, like,
- 31:30[SPEAKER_01]: Don't cool, you can use GMO just for email, but like there's so much more than you could be doing in there.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_01]: And by the way, talk about a time saver Christine.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I know, and you know, I feel like people already use their emails as a task list.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I, yes, sort of do, right?
- 31:46[SPEAKER_02]: Like, because you just keep the ones you know, you have to go back to.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_02]: But if it's right there, oh, that's brilliant.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_02]: That's amazing.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, Google Maps.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_02]: Is there anything happening with Google Maps?
- 31:56[SPEAKER_02]: Any upgrades on Google Maps?
- 31:58[SPEAKER_02]: Because that is one of my favorite Google tools.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_01]: same, same.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: A lot, lots of new Gemini integration in there, one of them being ask maps.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_01]: So just like ask a Gmail, ask photos, same thing is happening now in ask maps.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_01]: The cool thing here is again now, you can talk to maps in a conversational way.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_01]: when it first launched it was just for driving.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_01]: It is now launched for walking and biking as well, which is incredible, incredible.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_01]: So you can be out and about doing what you're doing and say, hey, can you like write in maps by the way?
- 32:35[SPEAKER_01]: So if you were, if you live in the Google ecosystem and say you use Google messages or you use, you know,
- 32:40[SPEAKER_01]: You could, you could theoretically say message Christine and let her know I'm running 15 minutes late or let her know my ETA and you don't even have to give the ETA because you're in Google Maps and you're actively navigating it knows when you're scheduled to arrive for lunch for our meeting It knows what the meeting is it will it will do it on your back.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's it's crazy.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_01]: It'll be like okay, you know or like hey, what is there to do in this area like or I'm you know like I used it.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_01]: I had my nephew coming into town to visit he's 17
- 33:09[SPEAKER_01]: And I used, I used ask maps to be like, hey, my name is coming in, he's 17.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_01]: He hears what he loves and I gave like a few things that he loves.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, what do you think would be like the coolest, like, top three things for him to do around us?
- 33:24[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and so it's like, it's bringing the search experience essentially into maps, but doing it in a conversational way.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_01]: So something cool that like real estate agents can keep in mind with this is like,
- 33:37[SPEAKER_01]: Again, if you've got that local Google business profile like what are the keywords you can be using in there when people are leaving reviews what can you be using in there because reviews can be used as that search data do you know what I'm saying so like people are asking maps certain things you want to be bio hacking that
- 33:55[SPEAKER_01]: You know for some engineering that and saying oh, what could somebody be asking around here if they're looking for real estate or if they're trying to find this restaurant by this Community that I'm selling this luxury listing in or whatever that might be and like just see what kind of little Keywords and quirks you could put in there to see if you could possibly rank and ask maps now.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of wild.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's changing It's really changing the game on like what's gonna show up when for because you could personalize it now
- 34:21[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's great.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's amazing.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_02]: Like it.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_02]: So this conversation is gold.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_02]: Gold.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_02]: So glad.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_02]: Last question.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_02]: If someone is going to leave this conversation and you have given so many like pearls of wisdom, I can't even like so many takeaways.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_02]: and they have let's say this person has 30% 30 minutes to integrate something.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_02]: What are they going to do?
- 34:55[SPEAKER_02]: He's doing me a lot of loaded questions here, Christine.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_01]: One thing that they're going to do.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: I would say like,
- 35:04[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, in general, I mean, truly for people, if they're wanting to know what like the best use of time is, it's like, if you are thinking that like, you need to be more integrated in ecosystem or you need to understand, I would honestly take 30 minutes
- 35:20[SPEAKER_01]: and do a deep download and try to figure out that ecosystem as best as you can.
- 35:26[SPEAKER_01]: So we kept using that example of Gmail.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_01]: And it sounds silly, but it's like, if you're like, oh my god, I already used this.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_01]: And like, I'm really not using it, right?
- 35:33[SPEAKER_01]: Go in and play.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like, if you have 20 minutes, 30 minutes to play with it, if Gemini is your thing of choice, or I've had a few people reach out and say, I'm switching from chat to BT to Gemini.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_01]: What do I do to that?
- 35:44[SPEAKER_01]: whole other topic we could go on but like go in and play and get comfortable with the tool and like as you use it, like I always say to everybody, hey that's how you're going to get comfortable with it, but you that's how you're going to discover something you can do in that tool that you never knew existed ever.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_01]: and each person listening is going to have their own use case that they're going to bring to the tool.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_01]: So that's what's so wonderful about any of these things in the ecosystem is that it really can be personalized and customized to you.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_01]: The individual user.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_01]: So I know that's like a big answer.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's like getting there and play.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_01]: But it's like telling you should.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_01]: Because if you have the time to do it, it's like,
- 36:23[SPEAKER_01]: That's when you take yourself from a basic user to intermediate or a more of a power user or like I didn't know I could do this thing.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, my God.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_01]: And then I'm going to inspire you to do other stuff for that tool.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I my guess would be most people are of all the things they're using Gmail.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_02]: So that would be the thing going to play with like go in and I can't wait to like how do they roll out the whole ask AI input AI email.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_01]: So Google does things very slowly and so things typically start in the US to a small user base and then they roll out weekly from there in English to start is usually also what they do So like just everybody just has to be patient.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_01]: I get a lot of people commenting on my videos like I don't have it yet I'm like I don't know guys like you just need to be patient Google really likes a slow roll.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_01]: I think they you know, it's scary with a lot of these tools and I think the AI race
- 37:19[SPEAKER_01]: You know, a lot of companies were like, I got to be first, like I've been above a, and this is a perfect example of like first isn't always best because a lot of misinformation can happen a lot of, you know, like, like a tool like, you know, your AI inbox is not going to be helpful to you if it's, if it's not accurate.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's feeding you junk.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_01]: That's not actually in your inbox.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like hallucinating stuff.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_01]: And you're like, this is stupid.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_01]: So like Google really rules things slowly trusted testers usually start then it moves from there.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_01]: And so that way they can get their feedback.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_01]: They can iterate iterate iterate before it goes out to like smaller and then bigger segments.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I just urge everyone to be patient because there are those other AI tools are already baked in there when you are composing emails and and the likes.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_01]: So like your smart composed stuff like that, which is super, super helpful.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: And like, honestly, Christine, we could spend days talking about all the latest updates inside docs and sheets slides.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_01]: They're freaking game changers.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_01]: Gemma isn't everything now, you guys.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 38:16[SPEAKER_02]: I've I've experienced it myself like creating these amazing like checklists within sheets and stuff like that and these project management thing.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_02]: It's it's pretty amazing it really is changing you are amazing you're so smart you're so fun you're such a breath of fresh air like you just you're positive and
- 38:36[SPEAKER_02]: Man, you are smart.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_02]: You get yourself in there and you just dig, dig, dig, dig, dig and then help all of us out here just really make sense of it all.
