- 0:00Speaker 1: She's on the Money. She's on the Money.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Hello, and welcome to She's on the Money, the podcast
- 0:26Speaker 2: for millennials who.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Want financial freedom.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Welcome back to another one of our Friday Drinks episodes
- 0:32Speaker 2: from Lockdown once again, where we get to celebrate the
- 0:35Speaker 2: money wins from our She's on the Money community. As
- 0:38Speaker 2: we all know, there are heaps, literally hundreds, and I
- 0:41Speaker 2: would almost say thousands of money winds shared in our
- 0:43Speaker 2: community each and every single week, and now is the
- 0:46Speaker 2: time for us to make them shine so tony before
- 0:49Speaker 2: we jump into the winds this week, can you tell
- 0:52Speaker 2: us what happened on Monday's Money Diary.
- 0:55Speaker 4: Our money diarist this week shared her journey from coming
- 0:58Speaker 4: from South America to a US Australia and how she's
- 1:02Speaker 4: got limitations on how much she can work on her
- 1:06Speaker 4: visa while she's in OZ and just talked about kind
- 1:10Speaker 4: of some ways that you can try and get through
- 1:13Speaker 4: the visa process if it's something you're looking into or
- 1:15Speaker 4: you've done it before. I think it was a really
- 1:18Speaker 4: good one because we had quite a few messages of
- 1:20Speaker 4: people saying they related to that, or they'd looked at
- 1:23Speaker 4: moving overseas or moving to Australia and had kind of
- 1:27Speaker 4: been through a similar process, and I think it was
- 1:30Speaker 4: a nice different one that got a lot of people
- 1:33Speaker 4: in the heart because she could only work a few
- 1:36Speaker 4: hours a week and stuff, and even though she used
- 1:39Speaker 4: to earn an exorbitant amount of money per year USD,
- 1:43Speaker 4: then moving here can only work twenty hours a week.
- 1:45Speaker 3: So yeah, it was a really good one.
- 1:47Speaker 5: Sep be insightful, hey into something that obviously I personally
- 1:51Speaker 5: have never experienced. I found that diary really interesting.
- 1:54Speaker 6: In my course at Melbourne UNI, we have lots of
- 1:57Speaker 6: international students and same thing. You kind of just assume like, oh,
- 2:01Speaker 6: you can do a summer internship and they're like, oh,
- 2:03Speaker 6: but we're not allowed to work more than twenty hours
- 2:05Speaker 6: a week, so it's pretty NiCd yah. Even though it's
- 2:08Speaker 6: for four weeks of the year, they're still not allowed
- 2:10Speaker 6: to do it. And a lot of students will work
- 2:13Speaker 6: crazy hours in the UNI breaks so then they can,
- 2:17Speaker 6: but they can't do that because of that twenty hour limit,
- 2:19Speaker 6: so it actually is pretty inflexible and it makes it
- 2:21Speaker 6: really tricky. So yeah, I hear lots of stories like
- 2:24Speaker 6: that and it was great to get a bit more
- 2:25Speaker 6: insight on Monday.
- 2:26Speaker 2: It's so nice that our community want to share that
- 2:28Speaker 2: stuff with us too, because that's that's something that they
- 2:31Speaker 2: didn't have to take the time to share. Like it
- 2:33Speaker 2: was an arduous story, like it was hard to tell,
- 2:35Speaker 2: Like there's a lot of parts to it, and like
- 2:37Speaker 2: I think that Tony and I really appreciated the intricacy
- 2:41Speaker 2: of the story as well, because we've got to understand like, well,
- 2:43Speaker 2: how did you make money and what were you earning
- 2:45Speaker 2: before and what are you earning now? And it was
- 2:47Speaker 2: just like, Wow, she's achieved so much. And from my perspective,
- 2:51Speaker 2: I've only ever learned about international students just by you know,
- 2:55Speaker 2: being with them in class and like having chats and
- 2:57Speaker 2: you're not going to turn to your peers and go, hey, Ryan,
- 3:00Speaker 2: how do you afford UNI?
- 3:01Speaker 7: Like that is that something I shouldn't be doing.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Of all people, you'd get away with it, but it's
- 3:08Speaker 2: just not something that I'd had the conversation about. And
- 3:10Speaker 2: I just feel like that's a really special position to
- 3:12Speaker 2: be in, to be given the intricate details to go, wow,
- 3:15Speaker 2: that actually would be such a struggle.
- 3:18Speaker 4: Yeah, And also to hear that she has to pay
- 3:20Speaker 4: for all of her UNI upfront, but has to keep
- 3:23Speaker 4: doing courses to keep her visa, you know, legitimate, And
- 3:28Speaker 4: it was just it was really interesting because I mean
- 3:31Speaker 4: I never had to go through any of that, and
- 3:33Speaker 4: it was just quite an eye opening story. So it
- 3:36Speaker 4: was nice to hear that the community really resonated with
- 3:38Speaker 4: it as well.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I loved it, And you know what else, I
- 3:41Speaker 2: loved Wednesday's episode, So jess what happened on Wednesday?
- 3:45Speaker 5: On Wednesday, you and George spoke all about teaching kids
- 3:48Speaker 5: about money, because we've kind of come to these places
- 3:51Speaker 5: where our community has learned so much ourselves, and we
- 3:54Speaker 5: know that a huge portion of our community have families
- 3:57Speaker 5: or nieces or nephews or brothers and sisters that they
- 4:00Speaker 5: want to pass that information onto, but obviously it's a
- 4:02Speaker 5: little more challenging to scale it back so that it's
- 4:06Speaker 5: consumable for a child. So we spoke about a few
- 4:09Speaker 5: different ways that you can kind of teach the value
- 4:12Speaker 5: of money and saving, and there's a really good thread.
- 4:15Speaker 5: We post a wrap of the podcast every week in
- 4:17Speaker 5: the Facebook group and we ask for people to share
- 4:19Speaker 5: their own suggestions of how they've taught their kids, and
- 4:22Speaker 5: there was some really, really great ideas on there as well,
- 4:26Speaker 5: and it pairs nicely because quite a while ago now,
- 4:29Speaker 5: we actually did an episode on investing for kids, and
- 4:31Speaker 5: that's something else that kind of comes up hand in hand.
- 4:34Speaker 5: But there's no point necessarily investing if you don't teach
- 4:37Speaker 5: your kids and the value of money. At least that's
- 4:39Speaker 5: kind of how I feel. Because you can lead a
- 4:41Speaker 5: horse to water, you can't make it drink. And you know,
- 4:43Speaker 5: it's awesome that people want to put together these great
- 4:45Speaker 5: portfolios and set their kids up, but if they don't
- 4:48Speaker 5: understand the value of what you're essentially gifting them, you know,
- 4:52Speaker 5: is that a little bit you know, over their heads
- 4:54Speaker 5: or wasted. So it's really cool to see these people
- 4:57Speaker 5: taking the steps and taking the time to make sure
- 4:59Speaker 5: that the next generation is going to be so educated
- 5:02Speaker 5: and they're going to be so aware and hopefully able
- 5:04Speaker 5: to build themselves these really amazing lives that we all
- 5:07Speaker 5: dream of, hopefully.
- 5:08Speaker 2: And I think that that was my favorite part of
- 5:10Speaker 2: the episode because a lot of learning actually comes from
- 5:13Speaker 2: our own experiences and us actually being really good at money.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Because kids, and I've said this probably a million times before,
- 5:22Speaker 2: but they learn through your actions, So you could sit
- 5:25Speaker 2: them down, or I could sit my niece and nephew
- 5:27Speaker 2: down and be like, all right, Oscar Georgia, are you ready?
- 5:29Speaker 2: This is what compound interest is. Like, I know you're
- 5:32Speaker 2: twoing for, but that.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Is not the point.
- 5:34Speaker 2: What you're going to do is learn about compound interest,
- 5:37Speaker 2: and this is how to evaluate an ETF. This is
- 5:39Speaker 2: what an index portfolio is. And I think it's one
- 5:42Speaker 2: of those things where it's not about sitting them down
- 5:44Speaker 2: and necessarily teaching them, but rather leading by example and
- 5:47Speaker 2: showing them what that means and involving them in the
- 5:49Speaker 2: household budgeting and grocery shopping and teaching them what money
- 5:54Speaker 2: actually looks like. So from my perspective, it's a lot
- 5:57Speaker 2: of yeah, cool, let's teach kids about money, but it's
- 6:00Speaker 2: also a little bit of a kick in the bottom
- 6:02Speaker 2: to go. You need to actually get your stuff together
- 6:05Speaker 2: because they're going to learn your habits.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Yeah. So moving on.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Every week, Ryan, you tell us your favorite money wins
- 6:13Speaker 2: from the She's on the Money community.
- 6:14Speaker 3: So what have you got for us this week?
- 6:17Speaker 6: All right, First of all, coming up, there's fake news
- 6:21Speaker 6: in these money wins.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Fake news She's on the Money community is.
- 6:26Speaker 6: About someone I know, and I hate to point it out,
- 6:29Speaker 6: but someone's lying to us, and I'll get to that soon.
- 6:33Speaker 6: First of all, Jenna, she said, this morning was the
- 6:37Speaker 6: first morning in eight years that I've woken up to
- 6:41Speaker 6: zero balance on both my and my husband's credit cards.
- 6:45Speaker 3: I'm so exciting, She said.
- 6:48Speaker 6: They've been in debt for eight years, but in the
- 6:50Speaker 6: last twenty months they've really knuckled down and made a
- 6:53Speaker 6: really conscious effort, and today was that day they woke
- 6:55Speaker 6: up zero zero, clean slate. Well done to Jenna and
- 6:58Speaker 6: her husband. That's pretty impressive. Now, I've had a few
- 7:01Speaker 6: of these recently, and if you don't ask, you don't get.
- 7:04Speaker 6: We've always talked about this, Emma said, I've been annoying
- 7:07Speaker 6: my boss and operations manager with all my research on
- 7:10Speaker 6: why I deserve a five kpay rise. Well, today not
- 7:13Speaker 6: only did I get one, but they doubled it and
- 7:15Speaker 6: gave me an extra ten thousand dollars, which is nearly
- 7:18Speaker 6: twenty one percent, and they backdated it to the start
- 7:21Speaker 6: of the financial year when we started having these conversations.
- 7:25Speaker 3: What I'm mad is awesome. That is exciting.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Also, props to you on having the confidence to put
- 7:32Speaker 2: something together and pitch it.
- 7:33Speaker 3: I love that.
- 7:35Speaker 7: Yeah, it's pretty impressive.
- 7:36Speaker 6: Now this is pretty crazy, actually, Vanessa said, I woke
- 7:40Speaker 6: up this morning and randomly remembered I bought stock six
- 7:43Speaker 6: months ago, and I haven't looked at it.
- 7:44Speaker 7: I haven't checked, totally forgot about it.
- 7:46Speaker 6: So she picked up her phone and learned that the
- 7:49Speaker 6: stock had risen two hundred and fifty percent.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Six months, like a hawk.
- 7:55Speaker 6: Well it's funny you mentioned hawk because this, I said,
- 7:57Speaker 6: tell me more. The stock is called metal Hawk, and
- 8:01Speaker 6: I looked it up on Monday. It was worth Just
- 8:03Speaker 6: this Monday, it was worth about nineteen cents to share,
- 8:06Speaker 6: and I just checked before it's up to eighty cents.
- 8:08Speaker 6: So even this week, it's gone from nineteen to eighty.
- 8:10Speaker 6: So Vanessa, oh my god, Wow, it's done a delicious surprise.
- 8:14Speaker 2: How exciting for her.
- 8:17Speaker 6: Joe, So tell me if this is a thing Joe purchased.
- 8:21Speaker 6: It's not Vanilla, but it looks like vanilla vaa l
- 8:24Speaker 6: I a yogurt?
- 8:25Speaker 7: Is that a thing? Yeah, that's exactly what I said.
- 8:31Speaker 6: Not Vanillia, all right, and she entered the code to
- 8:36Speaker 6: win a garment watch. Apparently, you know, it's one of
- 8:38Speaker 6: those ends of the codes if you're in, she said.
- 8:41Speaker 6: I assumed it was a you go into the draw,
- 8:43Speaker 6: but it turns out there's an instant winner every hour
- 8:45Speaker 6: and she won a Garmin Venu SQ Music Edition watch,
- 8:49Speaker 6: valued at four hundred and twenty nine dollars.
- 8:52Speaker 5: A Money said, speaking of winning, has McDonald's monopoly got
- 8:57Speaker 5: anybody yet? Because but we all know it was getting you, Jess.
- 9:02Speaker 3: I haven't won anything, but I've put on a lot
- 9:03Speaker 3: of watch.
- 9:08Speaker 5: I actually have gotten to the level of like crazy
- 9:11Speaker 5: where I'm joining Facebook groups to try.
- 9:13Speaker 3: And tell me.
- 9:19Speaker 5: Killing me?
- 9:21Speaker 6: All right, can I suggest a thread for next week
- 9:24Speaker 6: and for next week's money wins?
- 9:26Speaker 7: What have you won from McDonald's monopoly, or just what
- 9:28Speaker 7: have you won? In general?
- 9:29Speaker 2: Now? What have you won from McDonald's monopoly?
- 9:32Speaker 7: Okay's morning here?
- 9:33Speaker 2: Like the specifics of how that worked and.
- 9:36Speaker 6: What was going on because every year we all spend
- 9:39Speaker 6: thousands of dollars and fifteen kilos of our own into
- 9:42Speaker 6: this and who is actually coming out on top.
- 9:46Speaker 4: This is off topic, but have you guys watched mcmillions,
- 9:49Speaker 4: the documentary The Corrupt World of McDonald's Monopoly. It's on
- 9:57Speaker 4: I think it's on Binge and little money win. I'm
- 10:00Speaker 4: pretty sure that if you're with Telstra you're eligible for
- 10:03Speaker 4: like three months of binge at a time and stuff
- 10:05Speaker 4: like that. So if you're a Telstra Plus member, definitely
- 10:08Speaker 4: have a look into that because you can get some
- 10:10Speaker 4: free binge and watch millions. Because it's amazing that.
- 10:14Speaker 5: I'm not going to win the outdoor barbecue? Is that
- 10:17Speaker 5: with this conversation on.
- 10:19Speaker 2: To barbecue for Jessica, I cannot imagine you're using one.
- 10:24Speaker 3: We use our barbecue all the time, jes No judgment.
- 10:27Speaker 5: It's like the Australian dream judgment.
- 10:31Speaker 3: Yeah no, because I thought the same.
- 10:33Speaker 4: I was like, I'll never use a barbecue, like maybe
- 10:35Speaker 4: once a year if we have friends over and we
- 10:37Speaker 4: cooked like sausages or something, but we actually use it
- 10:40Speaker 4: all the time.
- 10:41Speaker 3: It's very handy.
- 10:42Speaker 4: We want to get the Webber pizza stone.
- 10:47Speaker 7: Yeah. Thanks. I have to think feel on that.
- 10:49Speaker 6: Because of the because of the price of property, the
- 10:52Speaker 6: Australian dream has been reduced from owning a house to
- 10:55Speaker 6: owning aet.
- 10:57Speaker 3: You're now like, I'll settle for the barbecue.
- 11:00Speaker 5: It's really fancy. It's like a whole kitchen. Sweet. But anyway,
- 11:03Speaker 5: back on topic, Brian, what was the next.
- 11:05Speaker 3: One, Jessica?
- 11:07Speaker 2: Next week, let us know what monopoly tile things you
- 11:10Speaker 2: need and we'll put a call out to the community.
- 11:13Speaker 2: We're going to get this barbecue for you, my love,
- 11:15Speaker 2: just like we got you a cat.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Yeah, remember the time we got you a cat. That's
- 11:20Speaker 3: so true.
- 11:22Speaker 6: Are you ready to hear about the liar that is Tanisha?
- 11:28Speaker 3: Already?
- 11:29Speaker 6: Tanisha is lying to all of us. This is fake news.
- 11:32Speaker 6: I don't believe a word she said.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Wait, hold on, is this you don't believe it or
- 11:35Speaker 2: it is legitimate fake news?
- 11:37Speaker 7: I don't believe it?
- 11:39Speaker 3: Okay. What was Tanisha's win?
- 11:41Speaker 6: Tanisha claims that she asked her Jim to cancel her
- 11:45Speaker 6: membership and they did it. And I think we can
- 11:49Speaker 6: all agree that is ball because that doesn't happen. So
- 11:54Speaker 6: bad luck. Good try Tanisha Bailey. Now, Bailey, this is
- 11:58Speaker 6: a massive money win. She was on the public weightlist
- 12:01Speaker 6: to get a breast reduction and she was almost about
- 12:04Speaker 6: to give up because she was on the waitlist for
- 12:05Speaker 6: so long. So she met with you know the private
- 12:09Speaker 6: route that you have to pay for fifteen thousand dollars
- 12:14Speaker 6: and she was just about to fork out the cash.
- 12:16Speaker 6: But then she got the call from the public weightlist
- 12:19Speaker 6: and I can confirm that she is currently just recovering
- 12:24Speaker 6: because she's had the surgery done.
- 12:25Speaker 7: Everything went well, and so she's.
- 12:28Speaker 6: Messaging, like I said, resting up, And she said, fifteen
- 12:31Speaker 6: thousand dollars save. That's a lot of money I can
- 12:33Speaker 6: spend on new bras and new clothes to go with
- 12:35Speaker 6: my new boots. So you congradula patients.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe a barbecue. That is not what we are grilling.
- 12:46Speaker 7: And the final money in this week is from Malanie.
- 12:49Speaker 6: She said, I started a DIY graphic design business called
- 12:52Speaker 6: Canvra and this week it's worth forty billion dollars.
- 12:55Speaker 7: Hashtag money win. Well done val coventulations of that.
- 13:00Speaker 6: Mel Perkins, great work mate, congratulations nice all side hustle story.
- 13:04Speaker 7: Just to spice, is she in it?
- 13:08Speaker 5: What is she in our community?
- 13:10Speaker 2: No?
- 13:10Speaker 3: I think it might be a little joke. Okay, it's like,
- 13:14Speaker 3: surely not.
- 13:15Speaker 6: If every single person in our group had one hundred
- 13:18Speaker 6: million dollars each, they still wouldn't be worth collectively as
- 13:21Speaker 6: much as Mel Perkins started. It's just seven years ago.
- 13:24Speaker 5: And if that tap you to just give it a crack.
- 13:29Speaker 3: That is so inspirational.
- 13:31Speaker 6: Yeah, if you want to start a forty billion dollar business,
- 13:34Speaker 6: go for it. If you want a barbecue, go for it.
- 13:35Speaker 6: Leave your truth, everyone go for it.
- 13:38Speaker 5: You guys can leave me one.
- 13:39Speaker 3: But to go back to her for a hot second.
- 13:42Speaker 2: She also came out earlier this week and said that
- 13:45Speaker 2: her and her business partner are actually planning on donating
- 13:49Speaker 2: thirty percent of that income, which is crazy and you
- 13:52Speaker 2: often don't see people with such wealth making such public
- 13:56Speaker 2: declarations with such high percentages of profit that's going to
- 14:01Speaker 2: go to charity. Like we know that Bill Gates donates
- 14:03Speaker 2: a lot more, always like oh my gosh, how philanthropic,
- 14:06Speaker 2: But it's literally less than one percent of his worth.
- 14:09Speaker 2: So I think it's one of those things where you're like, wow, wow,
- 14:11Speaker 2: thirty percent. That is huge and something that we absolutely
- 14:15Speaker 2: should be celebrating.
- 14:16Speaker 6: What a legend well done out of Perth that started
- 14:19Speaker 6: and now one of the biggest tech companies in the world.
- 14:22Speaker 2: So get room in perfose. Well, it wasn't just like
- 14:25Speaker 2: a little tech company. She was doing it in her bedroom.
- 14:28Speaker 4: And that's all they say. They go mel Perkins, then
- 14:30Speaker 4: they go Tony Lodge. It's like the same breadth.
- 14:35Speaker 7: Of her.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Laurright jumping straight back in Tony, you haven't stopped talking
- 14:46Speaker 2: about Christmas this week?
- 14:48Speaker 4: Why so this week we've crossed a huge milestone. It
- 14:52Speaker 4: is less than one hundred days till Christmas.
- 14:54Speaker 3: I'm at it. I know of course Jess is excited.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Jess's house is probably already decorated.
- 15:00Speaker 5: I was looking at Christmas trees online this week.
- 15:03Speaker 4: So one hundred days to Christmas, which means it's only
- 15:06Speaker 4: fourteen weeks away. And I know what you're thinking, it's September.
- 15:10Speaker 4: We've got ages, but you actually don't have ages.
- 15:14Speaker 3: So I've done with the hard hitting truth you don't
- 15:16Speaker 3: have ages.
- 15:17Speaker 4: You don't have it's going to come around in the
- 15:19Speaker 4: blink of an eye. We all know what happens every.
- 15:21Speaker 2: Year, if every year, Yet I am never more prepared.
- 15:26Speaker 5: If you're paid monthly, it's only three pay days.
- 15:29Speaker 2: If you're it's even scarier if you're paid.
- 15:31Speaker 5: Fortnightly at six So it's actually like we need to
- 15:34Speaker 5: be thinking about it. If you're one of those people
- 15:36Speaker 5: who was not prepared.
- 15:38Speaker 2: With the train, you start planning what you're getting me
- 15:41Speaker 2: for Christmas?
- 15:42Speaker 4: Yeah, well, actually, now that you mention it what we've done.
- 15:45Speaker 4: Jess and I got together, we did some calculations before
- 15:48Speaker 4: jumping on today, and we figured out how much extra
- 15:51Speaker 4: you need to save for an extra five hundred dollars,
- 15:54Speaker 4: thousand dollars two and a half thousand dollars and five
- 15:57Speaker 4: thousand dollars for that extra money for Christmas?
- 16:01Speaker 3: Genius?
- 16:02Speaker 2: So can we can we get into the nitty gritty
- 16:05Speaker 2: of it?
- 16:05Speaker 3: How much?
- 16:06Speaker 2: So is this per week saving or per month? How
- 16:09Speaker 2: have you guys calculated this?
- 16:10Speaker 3: I did per week and per fortnight?
- 16:13Speaker 7: Check you out?
- 16:14Speaker 4: Okay, So if you would like an extra five hundred
- 16:17Speaker 4: dollars for Christmas, you need to save thirty six dollars
- 16:22Speaker 4: a week or seventy two dollars a fortnight.
- 16:24Speaker 3: That's pretty good, not bad.
- 16:26Speaker 4: So I mean an extra five hundred dollars depending on
- 16:29Speaker 4: who you have to buy for, how much you plan on,
- 16:32Speaker 4: you know, spending on lunch and things like that. I
- 16:34Speaker 4: think of extra five hundred dollars would do wonders for
- 16:37Speaker 4: people at Christmas.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Absolutely it would. And it's always the small stuff that
- 16:41Speaker 2: adds up. And last year we did an episode on this,
- 16:43Speaker 2: and I am sure that with Jessica on our team
- 16:46Speaker 2: this year, we are going to have an abundance of
- 16:48Speaker 2: Christmas episodes coming up.
- 16:50Speaker 3: But we spoke about all of those.
- 16:52Speaker 2: Incidental costs at Christmas time. So it's the extra bottle
- 16:56Speaker 2: of wine that you take because you're going to your
- 16:57Speaker 2: friend's house for dinner, And it's the chop that you
- 17:00Speaker 2: buy to make sure that you've got a gift to
- 17:02Speaker 2: give somebody, And it's the cost of all the additional
- 17:05Speaker 2: things that you've got to buy to have people over
- 17:07Speaker 2: to host, like the napkins and the cups and the plates,
- 17:10Speaker 2: and even the food is obviously expensive, but five hundred
- 17:13Speaker 2: bucks that would do wonders.
- 17:16Speaker 4: So I also worked out how much you would need
- 17:19Speaker 4: to save to have an extra one thousand dollars, and
- 17:22Speaker 4: that's you know, that's a lot of money. So that
- 17:24Speaker 4: would that would be seventy two dollars per week or
- 17:27Speaker 4: one hundred and forty three dollars a fortnight.
- 17:30Speaker 2: So I got too unreasonable because a lot of people
- 17:33Speaker 2: are going to spend that amount come Christmas time. So
- 17:36Speaker 2: this is kind of like taking this sting out of.
- 17:39Speaker 3: It in a way.
- 17:40Speaker 4: Yeah, and I think that a lot of people is
- 17:42Speaker 4: probably this is probably when the more organized people would
- 17:46Speaker 4: start thinking about saving for Christmas. I know, I do
- 17:49Speaker 4: my Christmas shopping. If I ever actually do Christmas shopping,
- 17:52Speaker 4: it's literally always on Christmas Eve or the day before, Like.
- 17:56Speaker 3: My house is always decorated and all of that.
- 17:59Speaker 4: But I do Christmas actual present shopping, you know, two
- 18:03Speaker 4: days before and all the food. You can only do
- 18:04Speaker 4: that two days before, and with that anxiety. I need
- 18:08Speaker 4: anxiety a lot, So it is a challenge mode.
- 18:12Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, I like that. Sorry, when need wanted that?
- 18:17Speaker 4: Okay, So if you wanted an extra two and a
- 18:19Speaker 4: half thousand dollars, which is all pretty good gifts for
- 18:22Speaker 4: your mates, one hundred and seventy nine dollars per week
- 18:25Speaker 4: or three hundred and fifty eight dollars a fortnite, which
- 18:30Speaker 4: you know, that's a lot of money for people to
- 18:32Speaker 4: put away. I don't know a lot of people that
- 18:33Speaker 4: could put away one hundred and eighty dollars a week
- 18:36Speaker 4: on top of probably what they're already spending or putting
- 18:39Speaker 4: away for you know, their bills and fun money and
- 18:42Speaker 4: all of that.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Kind of thing.
- 18:44Speaker 4: But to have an extra two and a half thousand
- 18:46Speaker 4: dollars at Christmas if you needed it, you know, if
- 18:48Speaker 4: you're buying gifts for your kids and you wanted to
- 18:51Speaker 4: spoil them, or if you were hoping to go away
- 18:54Speaker 4: for the weekend or something like that, you know you
- 18:57Speaker 4: might need a little bit extra in the kiddie.
- 18:59Speaker 5: A lot of people are traveling at that time of year,
- 19:01Speaker 5: and I feel like it's something you forget, Like it's
- 19:02Speaker 5: the petrol to drive three hours, you know, down the
- 19:05Speaker 5: coast to see your family, or like if you're road
- 19:08Speaker 5: tripping it you need to get lunch on the way.
- 19:09Speaker 5: Like there's all those little things as well, and like
- 19:12Speaker 5: extra two and a half grand like would make a
- 19:14Speaker 5: big difference.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Yeah, it's also nice to know that this is how
- 19:18Speaker 2: much I could save, so it's not necessarily saying you
- 19:21Speaker 2: have to save this so that you spend it.
- 19:23Speaker 3: Like maybe you.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Want another two grand before the end of the year,
- 19:27Speaker 2: or maybe you haven't been as strict on your savings,
- 19:30Speaker 2: or maybe you want to do it, but you actually.
- 19:32Speaker 3: Don't have that cash flow.
- 19:33Speaker 2: So you've got more than enough time to do it,
- 19:36Speaker 2: Jessica Ricci and really hustle that up and maybe sell
- 19:39Speaker 2: some things, and like your goal is there, like one
- 19:42Speaker 2: hundred and eighty or two hundred bucks a week to
- 19:43Speaker 2: make sure that that goal is met, which is obviously
- 19:46Speaker 2: much easier than waiting till Christmas Eve to do your
- 19:49Speaker 2: shopping and work out where the budget's coming from. But
- 19:52Speaker 2: that could be a fun end of the year challenge.
- 19:54Speaker 3: For yourself if you wanted to do it.
- 19:56Speaker 4: And this is a bit of a crazy one, but
- 19:58Speaker 4: I thought it is again just a really demonstrator of
- 20:01Speaker 4: how you break the money down and actually doesn't seem
- 20:04Speaker 4: as out of control. If you wanted an extra five
- 20:07Speaker 4: thousand dollars for Christmas, three hundred and fifty eight dollars
- 20:11Speaker 4: per week or seven hundred and fifteen dollars a fortnite,
- 20:14Speaker 4: which is not doable for most people, myself included. I
- 20:17Speaker 4: don't think there are many people that could do that.
- 20:20Speaker 4: But when you break it down, it's actually pretty doable
- 20:23Speaker 4: to think about that.
- 20:24Speaker 2: You know that same as much you said five grand
- 20:26Speaker 2: I by the end of the year, I'd be like,
- 20:28Speaker 2: that's heaps, But like as much as three hundred and
- 20:31Speaker 2: fifty bucks a week is a lot of money, Like,
- 20:33Speaker 2: if that's in your capacity, it doesn't feel like as
- 20:36Speaker 2: much as five grand does.
- 20:38Speaker 4: I don't know, and I know that I spend money
- 20:42Speaker 4: like here and there, spend a little bit of money
- 20:44Speaker 4: here or yeah, you grab fuel or buy something for
- 20:47Speaker 4: yourself and it doesn't feel like much, but a lot
- 20:50Speaker 4: of twenty dollar transactions adds up.
- 20:52Speaker 3: To heaps of cash.
- 20:54Speaker 4: So it might be the difference between you know, having
- 20:56Speaker 4: a nice dress to wear on Christmas Day versus you know,
- 20:59Speaker 4: getting a you McDonald's monopoly token.
- 21:05Speaker 2: I watched you guys actually spend on Christmas, Like what's reasonable?
- 21:08Speaker 2: Because we just went through that and were like, here's
- 21:10Speaker 2: an extra five hundred dollars. Also, here's extra five grand.
- 21:13Speaker 2: I would never spend five grand at Christmas. I know
- 21:16Speaker 2: families do and that's cool, but like, what's reasonable for
- 21:19Speaker 2: a gift?
- 21:20Speaker 3: Tony Jesson Ryan.
- 21:21Speaker 5: It really depends on the person, like the amount of
- 21:24Speaker 5: money that I like. My partner and I are big
- 21:26Speaker 5: on Christmas, and I know it kind of goes two
- 21:28Speaker 5: ways with partners. Either you just really don't care, or
- 21:30Speaker 5: you just want to make something you know, really sentimental
- 21:33Speaker 5: and not spend any money, or you like to go
- 21:35Speaker 5: all out and our partnership like if you could in Dell,
- 21:40Speaker 5: I love special occasions and I love Christmas, and it's
- 21:45Speaker 5: just something like as a kid. You know, we were
- 21:47Speaker 5: a single income family, and it was always the time
- 21:49Speaker 5: of year that we really went all out and my
- 21:51Speaker 5: parents worked really hard and they absolutely were putting like
- 21:54Speaker 5: fifty bucks away a fortnight or something to have that
- 21:57Speaker 5: money at Christmas. And so that's something that I still
- 22:00Speaker 5: feel as an adult is I'm like, I'm pretty tie
- 22:03Speaker 5: on my budget throughout the year and Christmas all bets
- 22:06Speaker 5: are off.
- 22:07Speaker 3: Special that you've taken that through your life.
- 22:10Speaker 5: Yeah, so I even with that being said, I don't
- 22:14Speaker 5: think it would be all that much then like maybe
- 22:17Speaker 5: five to seven hundred, which is still a lot of money.
- 22:19Speaker 5: Five to seven hundred dollars is heaps of money, but
- 22:22Speaker 5: that would be gifts for like, and I don't do
- 22:25Speaker 5: gifts for everybody. It's kind of my really close friend
- 22:27Speaker 5: group like family and my partner. And then like, well,
- 22:32Speaker 5: I'm grouping you guys in with my friends.
- 22:34Speaker 2: But like cool, did just see that Tony Ryan, we're
- 22:37Speaker 2: friends with jess didn't feel like it doesn't taking it
- 22:44Speaker 2: run with it.
- 22:45Speaker 7: Big as risk there from Jessica Riccy.
- 22:48Speaker 5: Gifts a little decorating budget and then yeah, like a
- 22:52Speaker 5: little extra buffer for like wine or chocolate or like
- 22:55Speaker 5: just incidental things like that. But for me, it would
- 22:57Speaker 5: definitely be like five to seven hundred.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Which feels like a lot of money, but it's so quickly.
- 23:03Speaker 5: I'm really and that's the thing. We're like, oh, like
- 23:05Speaker 5: five hundred dollars isn't a lot, but like I definitely
- 23:07Speaker 5: want to recognize that that is so much money.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely for us.
- 23:12Speaker 4: Like so both my boyfriend and I's families in Perth,
- 23:16Speaker 4: and a few years ago we went to Perth for
- 23:19Speaker 4: Christmas and it was definitely around the five or six
- 23:22Speaker 4: thousand dollar mark. Yeah, you know for flights to get
- 23:26Speaker 4: over there, you know, staying somewhere, and then also you're
- 23:30Speaker 4: seeing so many more people, so you're buying presents for
- 23:34Speaker 4: that's a week of people, rather than when we're in
- 23:37Speaker 4: Melbourne it's just the two of us. We might buy
- 23:39Speaker 4: something small for each other and then we normally do
- 23:42Speaker 4: like a big orphan Christmas lunch with like our friends
- 23:45Speaker 4: that live here that don't have family and which we love.
- 23:48Speaker 4: So it's closer to the five hundred dollar mark, and
- 23:50Speaker 4: we might do like a Chris Kringle or something for
- 23:53Speaker 4: one hundred dollars, So ours is probably closer to five
- 23:56Speaker 4: hundred and for us, the seventy two dollars a fortnight
- 23:59Speaker 4: is extremely doable.
- 24:01Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, I Bridget and Night never buy each other presents, yeah,
- 24:06Speaker 6: and wouldn't spend I don't think i'd buy any presents
- 24:08Speaker 6: at Christmas. And the only thing that we'd spend money
- 24:11Speaker 6: on would be, like, you know, twenty dollars for like
- 24:14Speaker 6: the office.
- 24:14Speaker 7: Chris Kringle maybe, and it might be And.
- 24:19Speaker 6: It just occurred to me how wanky I probably sound sometimes,
- 24:21Speaker 6: but we would spend a little bit of money just
- 24:23Speaker 6: making sure that, like we had a really nice big
- 24:26Speaker 6: roast and a nice bottle of wine for lunch on
- 24:28Speaker 6: Christmas Day.
- 24:29Speaker 7: So for us, it would literally just be food and
- 24:34Speaker 7: that's it.
- 24:34Speaker 6: And actually, now that when you mentioned that, my friends
- 24:37Speaker 6: have an awphan Christmas on Christmas Night, which is everyone
- 24:40Speaker 6: who doesn't have family around just gets together and we
- 24:43Speaker 6: usually take it.
- 24:43Speaker 7: It's almost like a joke present.
- 24:45Speaker 6: And I always get a bucketo shots Whicheveryone whoever gets
- 24:50Speaker 6: that one always hates it and as soon as they
- 24:51Speaker 6: open it, they're like, damn it, Bryan.
- 24:55Speaker 2: But I love that because it's the trashiest gift and
- 24:58Speaker 2: I'm sure it's not there by the end of the night.
- 25:01Speaker 6: It doesn't last very long at all. It's always it's
- 25:04Speaker 6: one of those it's always hated. But as you said,
- 25:06Speaker 6: Ve doesn't seem to last very long.
- 25:09Speaker 4: Where do you think you see, Victoria. I know you've
- 25:11Speaker 4: got like a big family and you'll love to gift gift, and.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Yeah, we're all I feel like my family's really really generous,
- 25:18Speaker 2: but we over the years have realized that it's not
- 25:22Speaker 2: feasible for everybody to buy presents. So I'll buy presents
- 25:25Speaker 2: for my parents, my sister, and my partner, like non
- 25:28Speaker 2: negotiable and in all honesty, I'll probably spend about one
- 25:32Speaker 2: hundred dollars each gift, which for my parents feels like
- 25:35Speaker 2: a lot. But I really like doing that because I
- 25:37Speaker 2: feel like I can get my dad a few New
- 25:39Speaker 2: T shirts and like some nice stuff from Country Road,
- 25:42Speaker 2: and he always likes that. I can treat mom, I
- 25:44Speaker 2: can treat my sister, and then Steve and I don't
- 25:46Speaker 2: go like all out with gifts, but I would end
- 25:49Speaker 2: up spending maybe one hundred dollars on him, and then
- 25:52Speaker 2: on the family side of things, we actually do Chris Kringles,
- 25:56Speaker 2: So I'll get one present that I have to buy
- 25:59Speaker 2: with a fifth dollar limit for my side for like
- 26:02Speaker 2: the bigger family, and then on Steve's side we will
- 26:05Speaker 2: get you know, a Chris Kringle about I can't remember.
- 26:08Speaker 2: I think it's between fifty and one hundred dollar limit
- 26:10Speaker 2: for presents for his side and then one person and
- 26:14Speaker 2: then we'll usually buy the kids some small stuff, so
- 26:16Speaker 2: it might be, you know, coloring books or something. But
- 26:20Speaker 2: in the last two years we've actually implemented a homemade,
- 26:25Speaker 2: handmade or second hand gift rule for the kids, So
- 26:29Speaker 2: it has to be under fifty bucks and it has
- 26:32Speaker 2: to be homemade, hand made or second hand.
- 26:35Speaker 3: O witch that that's really nice.
- 26:37Speaker 7: We hand made me.
- 26:38Speaker 2: What's your Oh, I haven't handmade anything but last year.
- 26:42Speaker 2: And this was actually so funny and also so awkward
- 26:45Speaker 2: because it ended up in a really big argument with
- 26:47Speaker 2: Steve and I. I found on gum tree or Facebook marketplace,
- 26:51Speaker 2: can't remember a kid's kitchen.
- 26:54Speaker 3: And this kid's kitchen was like a pottery bun.
- 26:56Speaker 2: One was probably like three hundred and fifty bucks to
- 26:59Speaker 2: begin with, and it came with all the cups, all
- 27:01Speaker 2: the plates, the little kettle like. Additionally, they'd put in
- 27:05Speaker 2: there for forty Bucks and this thing was in Fitzroy, right,
- 27:10Speaker 2: So we called the guy. He was like, yep, come
- 27:11Speaker 2: pick it up, mate. My daughter has it in her room.
- 27:13Speaker 2: She's too old for it now. She just wanted to
- 27:16Speaker 2: give it to a kid that would actually use it
- 27:17Speaker 2: because it was hard for her to separate from it.
- 27:19Speaker 2: So like, we're glad that, you know, a little girl
- 27:22Speaker 2: and a little boy are getting it.
- 27:24Speaker 3: So we were stoked.
- 27:25Speaker 2: But we got there and I said to Steve, and
- 27:28Speaker 2: you guys know that my car is tiny.
- 27:30Speaker 3: I was like, nah, it'll fit in the back. It's
- 27:31Speaker 3: a kid's kitchen.
- 27:33Speaker 2: Turns out it won't fit in the back, And so
- 27:35Speaker 2: we got to this guy's place, got the kitchen down
- 27:38Speaker 2: from his apartment. You know, he's standing at the front
- 27:40Speaker 2: trying to get in the car. No bueno wasn't going
- 27:43Speaker 2: to happen.
- 27:43Speaker 3: So on it pretty much was Christmas eve.
- 27:46Speaker 2: Steve's wearing an ugly Christmas jumper because we were about
- 27:50Speaker 2: to go to a friend's Christmas drinks and he's standing
- 27:53Speaker 2: in Fitzroy.
- 27:54Speaker 3: He's like, you're going to have to go home.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Switched to my car because he's got a relatively large
- 27:59Speaker 2: car and drive back so we can take this thing home.
- 28:02Speaker 2: So he had to sit at like six or seven
- 28:04Speaker 2: pm Christmas Eve on the street in Fitzroy in an
- 28:10Speaker 2: ugly Christmas jumper with this kid's kitchen looking like he
- 28:14Speaker 2: was putting DIBs on hard rubbish.
- 28:16Speaker 3: So it's just really good.
- 28:18Speaker 2: And now he won't let me live that down and
- 28:21Speaker 2: we have learned to always take his car to pick
- 28:23Speaker 2: things up.
- 28:26Speaker 5: You would be shocked, though, what you can fit in
- 28:28Speaker 5: the back of a small car as a driver who
- 28:30Speaker 5: has a key rio, who formerly had a missing micra,
- 28:33Speaker 5: I would love to know. I feel like maybe we
- 28:35Speaker 5: have too many threads though this week already. But what
- 28:38Speaker 5: have you fit in the back of your small car?
- 28:40Speaker 5: Because I got an entire ikea couch in my micro
- 28:45Speaker 5: dig Jazz.
- 28:46Speaker 6: The greatest, the greatest radio talk topic I've ever done
- 28:50Speaker 6: was what did you fit in the hatchback?
- 28:51Speaker 7: And it is wild shit and I guess I'm all
- 28:53Speaker 7: for it. Please continue? What have you got?
- 28:55Speaker 2: Has anyone seen that picture of the man standing on
- 28:58Speaker 2: Exhibition Street in the city trying to get a couching
- 29:01Speaker 2: to his two door like.
- 29:03Speaker 3: It's actually hilarious.
- 29:06Speaker 2: So they weren't blonde?
- 29:11Speaker 7: You know what?
- 29:11Speaker 5: If there is a will there is a way, is
- 29:13Speaker 5: my belief. I don't know how small the car is. Obviously,
- 29:17Speaker 5: you guys just won't trying hard.
- 29:19Speaker 4: Okay, so we've got two threads that you guys can
- 29:21Speaker 4: expect to see today.
- 29:23Speaker 3: What have you won from McDonald's monopoly and what have
- 29:26Speaker 3: you fit?
- 29:28Speaker 2: She is on the money, bringing the educated content to
- 29:31Speaker 2: the people.
- 29:32Speaker 4: All right, well, very quickly, do you guys have any
- 29:34Speaker 4: wins or confessions that you want to share.
- 29:37Speaker 7: I've got one of the dumbest wins you'll ever hear.
- 29:40Speaker 3: I've got really good one.
- 29:41Speaker 2: And Jesse, if you've got a good or a bad one.
- 29:43Speaker 5: I have a It should have been a win and
- 29:45Speaker 5: it turned into a loss.
- 29:46Speaker 3: All right, well you can go first.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Then Ryan, you can tell us yours and I will
- 29:50Speaker 2: bring us out on a high.
- 29:52Speaker 5: I love it so cot it on this time last week.
- 29:57Speaker 5: There must have been an error in their back end
- 30:00Speaker 5: because they had thirty percent off site wide, and then
- 30:02Speaker 5: someone posted and was like, these two coupon codes also apply,
- 30:07Speaker 5: so it was like an additional forty percent off, meaning
- 30:09Speaker 5: you basically got seventy percent off of your money. When
- 30:13Speaker 5: huge I had apparently two pairs of jeans that have
- 30:16Speaker 5: been sitting in my car on cotton on for ages
- 30:18Speaker 5: that I was kind of waiting for them to go
- 30:20Speaker 5: on sale. I was like, amazing, I wanted them. I've
- 30:23Speaker 5: been sitting on the purchase. What better time to get them.
- 30:26Speaker 5: So I go to check out and then I'm like, oh,
- 30:28Speaker 5: you know what, seventy percent off is so good. I'm
- 30:30Speaker 5: just going to have a little browse of the site
- 30:34Speaker 5: to see what else I want to buy. So one
- 30:36Speaker 5: I'm looking to buy things that I wasn't planning on buying,
- 30:39Speaker 5: which goes against everything that we do say and teach.
- 30:42Speaker 3: And what we say not as we do guys, especially.
- 30:46Speaker 5: In this situation, because the problem was that I browsed,
- 30:50Speaker 5: I added unnecessary things to my car. I probably spent
- 30:53Speaker 5: like an extra twenty minutes just cruising around. By the
- 30:56Speaker 5: time I went to check out, someone had obviously realized
- 30:59Speaker 5: what was going on, and the coupon codes no longer replied.
- 31:04Speaker 5: I was riding these high of endorphins and just crashed
- 31:08Speaker 5: straight down to earth.
- 31:10Speaker 3: Oh did you buy the stuff? Anyway?
- 31:12Speaker 5: I didn't.
- 31:13Speaker 3: I was like, didn't even get the genes. They remain
- 31:17Speaker 3: in the cart.
- 31:18Speaker 5: They remain in the cart waiting for a really good deal.
- 31:21Speaker 5: But win should not have been greedy. We turned out
- 31:26Speaker 5: as a loss.
- 31:27Speaker 2: I feel that that would be really painful. Hopefully next
- 31:30Speaker 2: week you can tell us one of your Monopoly card wins.
- 31:33Speaker 5: I can't wait.
- 31:36Speaker 3: Jess is going to get the barbecue.
- 31:37Speaker 2: We're going to get an update on the tiles that
- 31:39Speaker 2: she needs to collect.
- 31:40Speaker 7: We've got her.
- 31:41Speaker 5: We've got you, Jess, the barbecue and an extra ten kilos.
- 31:45Speaker 5: But no cost is too high.
- 31:47Speaker 3: No cost is too high. Ryan, what was your confession
- 31:50Speaker 3: this week?
- 31:51Speaker 6: Well, it's a win. Let me just explain. You can
- 31:55Speaker 6: tell me if it's a winner or a loss. So
- 31:57Speaker 6: in my contract at work, I get my phone bill
- 32:02Speaker 6: and like an Internet like allowance sort of thing, like
- 32:04Speaker 6: I get a little excubit of money to cover that.
- 32:07Speaker 7: Yeah, and so when I started this.
- 32:09Speaker 6: Job at Kiss the radio station at the start of
- 32:12Speaker 6: the year, I thought, I like, set something up so
- 32:14Speaker 6: the phone bill kind of paid, it comes in my
- 32:17Speaker 6: pay or whatever. It turns out that's not the case
- 32:21Speaker 6: and I haven't been getting paid this and I was like, oh,
- 32:24Speaker 6: what an idiot. And they said, yeah, if you just
- 32:26Speaker 6: fill out this form, we'll backdate it to the start
- 32:28Speaker 6: of the year. So even though it's my money anyway,
- 32:31Speaker 6: I'm about to get what is it, September nine or
- 32:34Speaker 6: ten months worth of all these little allowances in one
- 32:36Speaker 6: lump sum So it's like it's really good news. Now
- 32:39Speaker 6: it's like dumb me the whole time for not doing
- 32:41Speaker 6: I mean, it's my money, so it's not like I've
- 32:43Speaker 6: got this money, but I'm going to get.
- 32:45Speaker 7: A little bit of a wind fall in next pay round.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Ryan, who doesn't actually spend any money at Christmas, is
- 32:51Speaker 2: going to be turbo charged Onni's Christmas Save Christmas fun.
- 32:55Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I was thinking.
- 32:56Speaker 6: The CEO of Buccato Shots Propriety Limits is rubbing his
- 33:00Speaker 6: hands together.
- 33:01Speaker 2: Look, I can't think of anything worse. When you say
- 33:05Speaker 2: bucket of shots, you mean the one bucket shots. Okay, sorry,
- 33:09Speaker 2: bucket oh shots. We're talking about those ones that have
- 33:12Speaker 2: the two sides like the little Cowboy.
- 33:16Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean one side will be like a milky
- 33:18Speaker 6: liqueur and the other ones like a lime flavored Fredo Cordial.
- 33:23Speaker 4: Maybe if Bucket O Shots are interested in sponsor, that's
- 33:29Speaker 4: slide into our dead.
- 33:30Speaker 6: I went into the bottle store, and the guy who
- 33:33Speaker 6: worked at the bottle of I asked for them, and
- 33:34Speaker 6: he's he looked. He looks me up and down and
- 33:36Speaker 6: then was like, we don't sell those. And I was like, okay,
- 33:39Speaker 6: do you know where that does? And he goes. I
- 33:41Speaker 6: believe they were banned in the state of Victoria for
- 33:43Speaker 6: being so disgusting.
- 33:47Speaker 2: Dacity. Doesn't he know who you think you are?
- 33:50Speaker 6: He doesn't know who I think I am, But he
- 33:52Speaker 6: knows who I think I am now because I told him.
- 33:55Speaker 6: I said, mate, I am a loyal bucket O shotter
- 33:57Speaker 6: and I will not cop this attitude from you or
- 33:59Speaker 6: you establishment.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Honestly, you deserve to be sponsored by them. Anybody who
- 34:03Speaker 2: knows the bucket o shot ceo, please reach out. We've
- 34:06Speaker 2: got a really big influencer for you.
- 34:10Speaker 7: All right. They wrap this up? Was you win?
- 34:12Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, it's a She's on the Money win?
- 34:14Speaker 2: The community did it for me, guys. So earlier this
- 34:18Speaker 2: week someone in our She's on the Money community posted
- 34:22Speaker 2: about a paramount glitch. Now I know this person posted
- 34:26Speaker 2: because they DMed me on Instagram first to be like,
- 34:28Speaker 2: v this is right up your alley, Like, this is
- 34:31Speaker 2: a money win if ever I saw one.
- 34:32Speaker 3: And I was like, posted in the group so they did.
- 34:35Speaker 2: But essentially there was a glitch on Paramount, which is
- 34:38Speaker 2: essentially a streaming service like Netflix or stan and the
- 34:42Speaker 2: glitch was that you could sign up to their trial
- 34:45Speaker 2: and then you could go into your settings and pay
- 34:48Speaker 2: for a yearly subscription for six dollars instead of the
- 34:52Speaker 2: like one hundred dollars it's meant to be for a
- 34:54Speaker 2: year subscription just because they had messed it up. So
- 34:57Speaker 2: I went ahead, I gave it a crack, spent my
- 35:00Speaker 2: six dollars, and now I have a year's worth a paradise.
- 35:04Speaker 3: Yeah, my gosh.
- 35:05Speaker 4: And even if you don't use it, it's only got
- 35:07Speaker 4: six dollars Sky.
- 35:09Speaker 5: You absolutely will use it because you know what's on there.
- 35:12Speaker 5: The Real Housewives of.
- 35:13Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, there is so much trash.
- 35:15Speaker 7: Sorry, jess what was that? What show was that, Jessica?
- 35:20Speaker 5: The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills?
- 35:23Speaker 3: Is that on there? Oh my god? I'm sot on there.
- 35:25Speaker 2: And it's got all the other trashy stuff you would
- 35:28Speaker 2: find on Foxtel, like a teen Mum and catfish and
- 35:32Speaker 2: Catfish there.
- 35:33Speaker 3: The MTV stuff.
- 35:35Speaker 2: Yeah, it's all trash so good and in lockdown. This
- 35:39Speaker 2: is the joy I needed anyway, before I give away
- 35:41Speaker 2: too many of my dirty TV watching habits, I think
- 35:45Speaker 2: we should wrap the show.
- 35:46Speaker 3: I think you need to leave.
- 35:48Speaker 7: Can I give one final piece of advice?
- 35:50Speaker 3: All right?
- 35:50Speaker 7: What is it?
- 35:51Speaker 6: I found the owner of the Bucketo shots. It is
- 35:54Speaker 6: Platinum Liquor dot com dot Au. They sell online and
- 35:58Speaker 6: I'll we hunting down their seat for next week's episode.
- 36:01Speaker 2: I'm going to get in contact with them and let
- 36:04Speaker 2: them know that I am the broker of Ryan's Influencer Deals.
- 36:07Speaker 3: So let's head off.
- 36:09Speaker 2: Thank you for listening again this week.
- 36:12Speaker 3: We hope you enjoyed it.
