- 0:21Baylee: Hello, everyone.
- 0:22Baylee: Welcome back to this week's episode of Mocktail Minutes.
- 0:25Baylee: This is Bailey.
- 0:26Brianna: And this is Brianna
- 0:28Baylee: This week I am drinking I have This is the one Poppy I don't think I've ever had.
- 0:32Baylee: It's the Sour Apple Poppy.
- 0:35Baylee: It reminds me of Apple Pucker
- 0:36Brianna: Okay.
- 0:36Brianna: That's kinda what I thought it would h- what I hoped it would taste like.
- 0:39Brianna: Okay, I like it.
- 0:41Brianna: I'm doing one of these Live sodas.
- 0:44Brianna: Have you ever done one of these?
- 0:45Brianna: I
- 0:45Baylee: No.
- 0:46Brianna: can't even remember.
- 0:48Brianna: I got this at Where'd I get this?
- 0:50Brianna: Oh, Target.
- 0:51Brianna: I got this at Target.
- 0:52Brianna: It's a Live Organic soda.
- 0:54Brianna: It has five grams of fiber.
- 0:56Brianna: It tastes pretty good.
- 0:57Brianna: It's the Luscious Cream.
- 0:59Brianna: If you like cream soda,
- 1:01Baylee: I do
- 1:01Brianna: yeah.
- 1:02Baylee: lately.
- 1:03Brianna: Yeah, it's pretty good.
- 1:04Baylee: Two good ones.
- 1:05Baylee: I did have a bad one earlier.
- 1:06Baylee: I had to change my drink'cause it was that bad.
- 1:08Baylee: I would also preface, I'm not a ginger person.
- 1:11Baylee: The aftertaste was not great, but it was called For Bitter or For Worse, the Rose City Fizz.
- 1:18Baylee: It just, it's like berry juices, bunch of different things, ginger.
- 1:23Baylee: It just wasn't for me.
- 1:24Brianna: Yeah.
- 1:24Baylee: that's okay.
- 1:26Brianna: For better or for worse, that's funny.
- 1:28Brianna: Yeah, I feel like that could go either way.
- 1:29Baylee: Yeah.
- 1:30Brianna: Yeah
- 1:31Baylee: Today we're going to talk about...
- 1:34Baylee: Actually, we're just gonna give you some tough love.
- 1:36Baylee: Because, to be honest, we've gotten a little wimpy when it comes to taking care of ourselves, we've found ourselves in the same bucket before too.
- 1:46Baylee: We're not being like,"Oh, you suck." It- I- we want this to come from an area of tough love, not shame type of thing, to help you get out of your funk that you might be in right now
- 1:58Brianna: Yeah.
- 1:58Brianna: And sometimes you just need...
- 2:00Brianna: You know how they say a good friend isn't someone that always agrees with you?
- 2:02Brianna: A good friend is someone that kinda lets you know what you need to hear.
- 2:05Brianna: It's kinda like that because we obviously work with a lot of women who wanna lose weight or they have insulin resistance or they just have a lot of, they have a lot going on that they wanna change.
- 2:16Brianna: And I feel like sometimes it's almost I understand where people are coming from and I totally get it, but I think sometimes it's a disservice to be like,"Yeah, all of that's totally gonna happen if you keep doing what you're doing." Obviously changes need to be made,
- 2:30Baylee: yeah, quite literally does not make sense, but it also makes sense that we can crave change, but we often stay where we are because it's more comfortable.
- 2:40Baylee: Used to that.
- 2:41Baylee: And so to change anything it takes a little bit more work.
- 2:46Baylee: I think there's a couple of things that come into play when we're thinking about, like, why don't we follow through?
- 2:52Baylee: Why are we being so wimpy?
- 2:54Baylee: Why are we too much in our soft girl era?
- 2:57Brianna: Угу
- 2:58Baylee: don't think it's because people are incapable.
- 3:00Baylee: I think it's one thing we've just become really accustomed to convenience.
- 3:06Baylee: But also I think the narrative has been lately to it easy, self-care.
- 3:12Baylee: also not really good at that.
- 3:14Brianna: Ja
- 3:14Baylee: We're doing self-care in a r- not a wrong way.
- 3:16Baylee: We're doing self-care in a way that's not actually productive.
- 3:20Brianna: Yes
- 3:21Baylee: I feel like there's just been a lot of messaging for the past few years of take it easy.
- 3:27Baylee: go so hard.
- 3:28Baylee: Or it's like people are against the go hard, go home message.
- 3:31Baylee: Which, yes and no, we don't have to do HIIT workouts seven days a week.
- 3:36Baylee: I actually don't want you to do that.
- 3:38Brianna: Угу
- 3:39Baylee: we have to find that middle ground of still being able to push ourselves and- Just go beyond what we're doing right now.
- 3:47Baylee: Out of your comfort.
- 3:48Baylee: We're scared to be uncomfortable,
- 3:50Brianna: Yeah
- 3:51Baylee: that's why we're so bad about managing our emotions.
- 3:53Baylee: We're, we don't wanna be uncomfortable, so instead of figuring out a plan, we're gonna have a glass of wine.
- 3:59Baylee: Like we are very good at disassociating, and we're very good at just convenience now.
- 4:04Brianna: Ja
- 4:05Baylee: And so it's want the perfect workout, but we don't wanna be uncomfortable, so it's like we get some soreness, and it's like,"Ugh, we need to take a day off." Wanna change what we're eating.
- 4:14Baylee: We want better sleep, but we don't wanna put our phone down.
- 4:16Baylee: We want to lose weight, but we're like,"Ugh, if I experience any hunger, or if I want an ice cream, I could just can't say no."
- 4:25Brianna: Угу
- 4:26Baylee: we want to be healthy, but it doesn't feel effortless, or we don't enjoy it every single day.
- 4:31Baylee: Which it's also okay to not enjoy things,
- 4:34Brianna: Ja
- 4:35Baylee: still be beneficial.
- 4:36Baylee: I think that's something we've kinda gotten away from.
- 4:39Baylee: It's okay if you don't enjoy it.
- 4:41Baylee: And Day weekend was a couple weekends ago, I saw a post where this dietician was sharing.
- 4:48Baylee: She's like,"I'm not gonna tell you it's just one day and move on," because we have so many of those one days and moves on that it's just not one day.
- 4:56Baylee: And I really
- 4:57Brianna: Yeah
- 4:57Baylee: it I used to share things like that, too, around every holiday, where it's like,"You know what?
- 5:02Baylee: It's just one day." And I was kinda thinking about it.
- 5:04Baylee: I was like, we're naturally...
- 5:07Baylee: If we are gonna overeat, we're probably gonna do it regardless if you saw my message of it's one day or move on.
- 5:12Brianna: That's true
- 5:13Baylee: think that's actually helpful anymore.
- 5:16Baylee: We don't need to be told to enjoy ice cream, I don't think, really.
- 5:20Brianna: Yeah
- 5:20Baylee: more helpful is giving guidelines and helping you, so that way you don't feel like crap going into the rest of the week, too.
- 5:28Brianna: Yeah.
- 5:28Brianna: I think we've gotten ourselves in this conundrum, right?
- 5:31Brianna: And I posted about this on my story yesterday'cause it's...
- 5:35Brianna: Women are really good at burnout, right?
- 5:37Brianna: We're really good at doing all the things, getting burnt out, not feeling aligned with what we're doing, and so we've kinda, like you said, the messaging, we've swung the other way where it's like soft girl era.
- 5:47Brianna: If it doesn't bring you joy, don't do it.
- 5:49Brianna: If, if you don't want to, don't.
- 5:51Brianna: Have those boundaries.
- 5:53Brianna: And we kinda do it for the wrong things and realizing that it is okay to be uncomfortable.
- 5:59Brianna: How about choosing what you wanna be uncomfortable with, right?
- 6:01Brianna: Do you wanna choose to say yes to 1,500 things on your to-do list that you don't really wanna do and now you can't even go take a walk?
- 6:08Brianna: No.
- 6:08Brianna: You should probably have boundaries with that.
- 6:10Brianna: But when it comes to,"I don't wanna go take a walk'cause it's hot," or it's cold, or,"I don't like our walking pattern.
- 6:15Brianna: I just don't feel like it." Okay, though, that's different.
- 6:18Brianna: And we get in this spot where it's like we want things to happen, but we don't wanna do the things to do it, and then we feel stuck in this rut of I wanna do these things, but I don't.
- 6:30Brianna: And yeah, the, the...
- 6:31Brianna: It's okay to be uncomfortable, and when you're making changes, it's probably gonna feel uncomfortable.
- 6:38Brianna: You're not gonna like it'cause if you liked it, you'd probably already be doing it
- 6:41Baylee: The walking is the perfect example.
- 6:43Baylee: I'm in Missouri.
- 6:44Baylee: We get very hot, we get very cold, and it's so funny.
- 6:47Baylee: People will be like,"I can't walk right now.
- 6:48Baylee: It's too hot." And then come winter,"I can't walk right now.
- 6:50Baylee: It's too cold." I'm like,"Welcome to living in Missouri."
- 6:54Brianna: Welcome to the hot and the cold.
- 6:55Baylee: It's okay if you're gonna sweat.
- 6:57Baylee: I'm not asking you to run a marathon.
- 6:58Baylee: I'm not even asking you to run three...
- 7:00Baylee: I'm not even asking you to run.
- 7:03Baylee: 10-minute walk can be
- 7:04Brianna: Yeah
- 7:04Baylee: You might sweat, and that's not a bad thing.
- 7:07Brianna: Ja
- 7:07Baylee: have to put a coat on in the winter and bundle up.
- 7:09Baylee: You might get a little bit of cold, but it's also not bad for us to get fresh air and sweat and get a little shiver in us.
- 7:15Brianna: Yeah.
- 7:16Baylee: They're
- 7:16Brianna: And,
- 7:17Baylee: bad things to do
- 7:19Brianna: And if you are one of those people that's like,"I can't do it.
- 7:21Brianna: I can't do the hot, I can't do the cold." For me, I hate cold.
- 7:25Brianna: I couldn't, I probably could not walk outside in Missouri in the winter, right?
- 7:29Brianna: But then you do things to address the barriers, because you're not gonna just magically change where you live tomorrow.
- 7:34Brianna: Most people, you're not.
- 7:35Brianna: So walking pad, but then people are like,"I don't like walking on a walking pad." Okay
- 7:41Baylee: Then you're, like you have to
- 7:42Brianna: you gotta choose.
- 7:43Brianna: I hate the walking pad, too.
- 7:44Brianna: I actually despise it.
- 7:45Brianna: I hate it.
- 7:46Brianna: I loathe it.
- 7:47Brianna: But I use it, because a lot of days there's no way I'm gonna get in my steps if I don't use the walking pad, because I don't have the time to go outside and take an hour-long walk.
- 7:54Brianna: So you, you do what you need to do, and that's okay.
- 7:59Brianna: Like-
- 7:59Baylee: we can make sometimes is we'll look at people and we're like,"Oh, they just have it all together.
- 8:04Baylee: It's just so easy for them." We're making sacrifices too, or we're doing things we don't wanna do.
- 8:10Baylee: Like The walking pad.
- 8:11Baylee: We're cooking dinner when we don't want to cook dinner.
- 8:14Baylee: My story the other day we had a night my husband had to work, and so instead of...
- 8:19Baylee: a lot of times moms are like,"I didn't wanna cook for me and just the kids, so we went through a drive-through or ordered pizza."
- 8:25Brianna: Угу
- 8:26Baylee: on those nights because it's no cooking,
- 8:29Brianna: Ja
- 8:30Baylee: two cups, it's nutrient-dense, it keeps us full, it's a better option than going through a drive-through.
- 8:37Baylee: I think it's, yeah, again, always just choosing your hard.
- 8:41Baylee: We can make anything feel hard.
- 8:43Baylee: Yeah, it might be hard to track your calories.
- 8:47Baylee: Not hard, but it might be different than what you're used to.
- 8:49Baylee: It might take a little bit more effort, more intention.
- 8:52Baylee: But I don't know, is that harder than not losing weight for another year or two?
- 8:59Brianna: Right.
- 9:00Baylee: for another year or two?
- 9:01Brianna: Yeah
- 9:02Baylee: What do you truly want?
- 9:05Baylee: And what you want you're going, not you're probably, you're going to have to make changes order to get there because obviously what we're doing right now isn't working, so if we
- 9:15Brianna: Угу
- 9:15Baylee: that, we're not gonna see change.
- 9:18Baylee: I think there's consistency things, but most of the times the things that you're trying to change are things that you've already been very consistent with.
- 9:25Brianna: Yeah.
- 9:26Brianna: And it's
- 9:27Baylee: might have to do things you don't want to.
- 9:29Baylee: not punishment.
- 9:30Baylee: You're not punishing yourself.
- 9:32Brianna: It's just life.
- 9:33Baylee: Yeah, it's just life.
- 9:34Baylee: We do things all the time we don't wanna do.
- 9:37Baylee: I don't quite enjoy paying a mortgage every month, but
- 9:40Brianna: Ja
- 9:41Baylee: I do enjoy my house and having a house to live on and not being foreclosed on.
- 9:46Brianna: Right.
- 9:47Brianna: Exactly.
- 9:48Brianna: I feel like I have this conversation with my middle schooler a lot.
- 9:50Brianna: I feel like a lot of things that are coming out of my mouth to my middle schooler, I'm like,"This is just me having conversations with adults as well," right?
- 9:57Brianna: Sometimes we do things we don't wanna do because we like the outcomes.
- 10:01Brianna: It's okay to be uncomfortable.
- 10:02Brianna: It's okay to not love every single thing you're around all the time.
- 10:05Brianna: You do the things you gotta do.
- 10:07Brianna: And this isn't...
- 10:08Brianna: 'Cause I see a lot of, and I think the messaging gets people either really accept it or they don't,'cause there is a lot of things on the, it's choose your hard.
- 10:14Brianna: We all have the same 24 hours.
- 10:16Brianna: But, okay, if you're not in a space where you don't wanna change, this isn't for you.
- 10:22Brianna: That's great.
- 10:22Brianna: I don't...
- 10:23Brianna: Autonomy, do whatever you want.
- 10:25Brianna: It doesn't affect me.
- 10:26Brianna: This is for the people that are like,"I wanna change," or,"I need to lose weight," or,"I have insulin resistance," or,"I do have hormonal issues," or,"I have sarcopenia," or, like, all these I have these things, I have this ailment, I wanna change it or make it better or avoid it.
- 10:41Brianna: But then that's it.
- 10:43Brianna: They just...
- 10:43Brianna: And I think it's'cause we've gotten really used to convenience, and there's a lot of messaging on social media that's like,"You're broken.
- 10:50Brianna: You don't need any of that.
- 10:51Brianna: You just need this." Or people on a GLP-1, and it's"Oh my gosh, they lost 30 pounds in a month.
- 10:56Brianna: That's what I need." It- there's just all this combating stuff when the reality is you just gotta figure out what you want and then take the steps to make that happen, and you're probably not gonna love it.
- 11:07Brianna: You're gonna have to make new habits.
- 11:08Brianna: It's not gonna be easy, but eventually it's gonna be easier than just not ever making those changes
- 11:14Baylee: Yeah.
- 11:15Baylee: And I think, I'm speaking of GLP-1s, like it probably does seem more convenient to give yourself a shot every week than to start strength training
- 11:23Brianna: Угу
- 11:24Baylee: preparing meals better.
- 11:26Baylee: But the reality is, m- like part of life is just doing things you don't want to.
- 11:31Brianna: Yeah
- 11:32Baylee: I think there's always a reason.
- 11:34Baylee: Speaking of like middle school, you learn like equation for slope, what it, Y equals MX plus B.
- 11:39Brianna: Угу
- 11:40Baylee: "Why are we doing algebra in school?
- 11:41Baylee: It doesn't mean anything.
- 11:42Baylee: We don't need this."
- 11:43Brianna: Ja
- 11:44Baylee: setting you up for a foundation.
- 11:45Baylee: Someone out there probably does need it.
- 11:48Baylee: When you're in middle school, we're not categorizing you into,"You're gonna be a doctor, here are your classes." That's just getting you your foundations.
- 11:57Baylee: At some
- 11:58Brianna: Угу
- 11:58Baylee: need our foundations in some area, but then we adjust and we change, and we do things we don't want to, and
- 12:07Brianna: Ja
- 12:07Baylee: to better us.
- 12:08Baylee: It's to make us well-rounded.
- 12:09Baylee: So might have to take the stairs instead of the elevator.
- 12:15Brianna: Угу
- 12:15Baylee: to cook when it's not convenient.
- 12:17Baylee: might need to get up and step.
- 12:19Baylee: Not step, s- take some steps,
- 12:21Brianna: yeah
- 12:22Baylee: of sitting on the couch because you're too tired.
- 12:25Baylee: You might need to stop eating because you're satisfied, instead of stuffing your face.
- 12:30Baylee: You might need to eat a protein and a veggie when it's like,"I don't know, takeout sounds better."
- 12:37Brianna: Ja
- 12:38Baylee: does not mean that something is automatically wrong.
- 12:40Baylee: Sometimes you're just uncomfortable because it's unfamiliar.
- 12:44Brianna: Yeah.
- 12:45Baylee: being tired after a workout doesn't mean you should skip tomorrow's workout.
- 12:49Baylee: Your meal not being as exciting doesn't mean that it's bad or you should never eat it again.
- 12:57Brianna: Угу
- 12:57Baylee: snack doesn't automatically mean you're starving and need to h- eat a handful of pretzels.
- 13:03Baylee: Not wanting to walk or having low energy doesn't mean that your body needs rest.
- 13:07Baylee: Walking is not stressful.
- 13:10Baylee: Walking doesn't
- 13:10Brianna: Yeah.
- 13:11Baylee: Yeah, it takes energy, but it's not again, you're like lifting weights there.
- 13:14Baylee: Like
- 13:15Brianna: Yeah
- 13:16Baylee: we're too tired to get our steps in.
- 13:17Baylee: Getting your steps in would probably actually give you that energy.
- 13:21Baylee: And so
- 13:22Brianna: Ja
- 13:22Baylee: very backwards, and we've gone from how can I take better care of myself to how can I take care of myself without being uncomfortable all?
- 13:32Baylee: We start delivering food.
- 13:33Baylee: DoorDash, like the amount of money people spend on DoorDash is crazy
- 13:37Brianna: That's a lot.
- 13:38Brianna: And if you don't know how much you spend, you should look.
- 13:41Brianna: On DoorDash, on drive-throughs, on coffee.
- 13:44Brianna: I know because I've looked.
- 13:46Brianna: The amount that I have spent on coffee outside the house before totally is like, why did I even buy that expensive coffee machine?
- 13:51Brianna: I...
- 13:52Brianna: Calling myself out.
- 13:53Brianna: But I- it's true.
- 13:55Brianna: I- we just, we wanna be comfortable, and I get it, but this is what I ask people.
- 13:59Brianna: I have them really challenge themself.
- 14:01Brianna: Are the things you're doing to be comfortable making you feel better?
- 14:05Brianna: Is the lack of movement making you feel more rested?
- 14:08Brianna: Is the takeout or the convenience food making you feel less bloated, more energized, better fueled?
- 14:13Brianna: Is the scrolling on your phone or staying up and binging Netflix actually making you feel like you poured into your cup today?
- 14:20Brianna: The answer is gonna be no.
- 14:22Brianna: It's gonna be no.
- 14:23Brianna: It just feels okay in the moment, and you have to really challenge yourself.
- 14:27Brianna: You gotta treat yourself like you're a child.
- 14:29Brianna: You are in charge of your body, s- deciding what you're gonna do, how you're gonna do it.
- 14:34Brianna: You need to kinda, keep yourself accountable, and it's not always easy.
- 14:38Brianna: There's plenty of times that I walk around and I have verbal, audible conversations with myself.
- 14:42Brianna: "You're choosing not to do this, so when you feel like crap later, go you.
- 14:46Brianna: You did this." It's like, ugh, I did this to myself.
- 14:48Brianna: It's not gonna be like,"I didn't have time," or,"I just d- No, it's'cause I didn't wanna do it
- 14:54Baylee: Yeah.
- 14:55Baylee: And it's...
- 14:57Baylee: Yeah, we just have to be honest with ourselves, and we have to stop just looking for these crazy hacks that we need to do to get the body we want or to lose the weight.
- 15:06Baylee: move, eat real food, go outside, lift, manage your stress, drink your water.
- 15:12Brianna: Get some sleep.
- 15:13Baylee: Yeah just start taking responsibility for your health and realizing it's okay if you don't enjoy it.
- 15:22Baylee: It's okay if you don't wanna do it.
- 15:24Baylee: Eventually, you're going to feel comfortable in living in this new life.
- 15:29Brianna: Угу.
- 15:30Baylee: But if you're constantly living like the person you are now, you're never going to get to that version of yourself.
- 15:36Baylee: You're just not.
- 15:37Baylee: It Sense
- 15:38Brianna: Yeah.
- 15:38Brianna: And eventually the doing the hard things does feel really good.
- 15:42Brianna: Like proving to yourself"I can do the things I said I was gonna do" actually feels really good, and things do start to become second nature, or worst case scenario, they're not second nature, but it's something you just do because"I should be doing this." There's a lot of things I don't like doing, but kinda like you said I do it'cause I like the outcome, right?
- 16:03Brianna: It's just like a non-negotiable.
- 16:05Brianna: You just, you do it.
- 16:06Brianna: So I think we're waiting.
- 16:08Brianna: A lot of people are waiting.
- 16:09Brianna: Like I, I've had this conversation with so many people.
- 16:11Brianna: "I just wish I wanted to lift weights.
- 16:14Brianna: I wish I wanted to." You may never become that person that wants to do it, and that's okay, but you're gonna do it, and you're gonna feel good doing it.
- 16:22Brianna: It's just, we're already in a default.
- 16:26Brianna: We think making good habits is hard.
- 16:29Brianna: The reality is we're already in the default of making bad habits.
- 16:32Brianna: You're a- you're already in a default of something, so you gotta change it.
- 16:36Brianna: And a- again, if you're fine with where you're at and you don't mind it and you're good, great.
- 16:41Brianna: More power to you.
- 16:42Brianna: If it's not broke, don't fix it.
- 16:44Brianna: But I think we meet with so many people that are like,"I want this, and that," but they don't wanna do any of the things to get there, and I get it.
- 16:53Brianna: Some things aren't realistic.
- 16:54Brianna: Some things you can't really commit to.
- 16:56Brianna: Okay.
- 16:56Brianna: But figure out your barriers, figure out if they're actually barriers, and then what you could do to change it.
- 17:02Brianna: Because the reality is you're going day in and day out, year in and year out not liking how you feel, not liking where you are, but then also not disliking it enough to change it
- 17:12Baylee: Yeah.
- 17:13Brianna: Which is the tough love part.
- 17:14Brianna: And that's, again, that's just us trying to be good dieticians, if you came to me and you're like,"This is what I'm doing, and this is all the stuff I don't wanna do," and I was just like,"Okay," I would- there would be no point in meeting with me.
- 17:30Baylee: Yes.
- 17:31Brianna: Yeah
- 17:31Baylee: And I think you bring up a good point.
- 17:33Baylee: If you're like,"You know what?
- 17:33Baylee: I'm kinda good with where I'm at, and I'm not strength training," cool.
- 17:37Baylee: That's fine.
- 17:38Brianna: Угу
- 17:40Baylee: "I want to tone," or,"I wanna lose fat, and I don't like where I'm at," then yeah, we have to...
- 17:46Baylee: we need to strength train.
- 17:47Baylee: We need to get our meals in.
- 17:48Baylee: I...
- 17:48Baylee: Yes, I think everyone should strength train.
- 17:51Brianna: Ja
- 17:52Baylee: We have to have some skin in the game, but we also have to be a little tougher in life.
- 17:57Baylee: Don't be so wimpy.
- 17:59Brianna: Угу
- 18:00Baylee: you want a different outcome
- 18:02Brianna: Yeah.
- 18:03Brianna: Yeah.
- 18:04Brianna: And again, there is a way to do that without fully burning yourself out.
- 18:09Brianna: I think we have a really hard time finding...
- 18:11Brianna: Yeah, we have a really hard time finding a middle ground, and for a lot of people that has done the extreme workouts, extreme dieting, it's like anything that you did over here, you don't know how to do it in a healthy way.
- 18:22Brianna: Prepping your food or tracking what you're eating every once in a while or holding yourself accountable to a workout schedule feels like,"Oh, no, that's what I did over here when I was, like, hardcore burnout." None of that stuff was necessarily bad.
- 18:34Brianna: It's how you did it.
- 18:35Brianna: But you still need to do it, just in a different way
- 18:39Baylee: Yeah.
- 18:39Baylee: 75 Hard's a perfect example.
- 18:41Baylee: People will do that and commit to it all the time'cause it's 75 and I'm done.
- 18:44Baylee: I can do anything for 75 days.
- 18:46Baylee: A terrible mindset to have.
- 18:48Baylee: Are you
- 18:48Brianna: Yeah.
- 18:49Baylee: for the next 75 days?
- 18:50Brianna: Literally
- 18:51Baylee: I hope your lifespan looks better than that.
- 18:54Baylee: But we have to be able to set ourself up, and I think that's a little bit uncomfortable, too, knowing is no end date, and knowing that's these habits that you're doing for weight loss, you're going to have to keep doing.
- 19:05Baylee: It's not gonna come from punishment anymore.
- 19:07Baylee: It's gonna be, I have better energy.
- 19:10Baylee: Better focus.
- 19:11Baylee: I can hang out with my kids.
- 19:12Baylee: I can run with my kids and not feel winded.
- 19:15Brianna: Угу.
- 19:16Baylee: in my body.
- 19:16Baylee: I feel confident in my body.
- 19:18Baylee: Those are the things you're gonna get by changing what you're doing
- 19:22Brianna: Yeah.
- 19:23Brianna: And I think you do bring up a good point with the, am I gonna have to do this forever?
- 19:26Brianna: I think people get really caught on it, but I've worked with so many people who are, like, in their older stage of life, we're talking 70s and up, who have chronic illness, who can't really move well in their bodies, and all of them say the same thing.
- 19:41Brianna: "I wish I would've just started doing things before I realized how important it was." Because eventually you do wake up and it's like,"I can't move my body.
- 19:50Brianna: Yeah, I have chronic illness.
- 19:51Brianna: I don't want to be on all these medications.
- 19:54Brianna: I want to be able to do the things I want with my family.
- 19:56Brianna: I don't want to be homebound.
- 19:58Brianna: I want to be independent." But that stuff isn't just given, that's...
- 20:02Brianna: You're taking care of your vessel, if you just run a car into a ground, into the ground, you're not gonna have it in 20 years, and it's not gonna take you across the country with no problems.
- 20:12Brianna: You gotta do some things.
- 20:13Brianna: And so I think we are so short-minded.
- 20:17Brianna: Yeah, you have to do it forever.
- 20:19Brianna: You don't have to, but y- you're gonna need to if you want to be
- 20:22Baylee: yeah.
- 20:23Brianna: Yeah.
- 20:23Brianna: It just is what it is.
- 20:24Brianna: Yeah.
- 20:24Brianna: Just I'm gonna have to pay taxes.
- 20:26Brianna: I'm gonna have to pay taxes.
- 20:27Brianna: I don't...
- 20:28Brianna: I gotta do it, okay?
- 20:29Brianna: Or else I'm gonna go to prison, okay?
- 20:32Baylee: But it gets easier.
- 20:33Baylee: Eventually
- 20:33Brianna: does
- 20:34Baylee: you're just like, we just do it'cause that's life.
- 20:36Baylee: Just
- 20:36Brianna: Mhm.
- 20:37Baylee: your teeth every day, just like how like you become a mom and all of a sudden like it is easier to get up and take care of your kid.
- 20:43Baylee: You have that routine
- 20:45Brianna: Угу
- 20:45Baylee: I think it's funny.
- 20:46Baylee: We're pl- you think about before you were a mom, and it's like you, it, we were still working out.
- 20:51Baylee: We were still...
- 20:52Baylee: Like, how did we do that?
- 20:53Baylee: And now
- 20:53Brianna: Yeah.
- 20:54Baylee: care of other humans.
- 20:55Baylee: It's
- 20:55Brianna: I'm always like, wow, I had...
- 20:59Brianna: Any excuse I thought I had, I, it was not real.
- 21:02Brianna: Okay?
- 21:02Brianna: I wanna go back and give myself a reality check.
- 21:05Brianna: But yeah, it's, you do it, and it gets easier.
- 21:07Brianna: And also, I think if you just have the perspective of"These things make me well and make me feel good and make me be where I wanna be," I think you become more reluctant to just"Okay, I'm gonna, I'm gonna do it." You just gotta stop throwing a fit,
- 21:21Baylee: you are capable.
- 21:22Baylee: You can do this.
- 21:23Baylee: You might not love every second, but that's okay.
- 21:26Baylee: You are capable if you wanna see change.
- 21:28Baylee: So we hope this episode was helpful.
- 21:30Baylee: Again, helpful.
- 21:32Baylee: This is coming from a place of tough love, not as you suck
- 21:38Brianna: yeah。
- 21:40Baylee: So take it, listen to it, and start applying this to your everyday
- 21:44Brianna: Yep.
- 21:44Baylee: and you will start to feel better.
- 21:45Baylee: All
- 21:45Brianna: Yep.
- 21:47Brianna: We love you.
- 21:47Brianna: Okay?
- 21:48Baylee: Yes.
- 21:49Brianna: do
- 21:49Baylee: Have a great rest of your week, and we will be back next week with a brand-new episode.
- 21:54Brianna: Bye
