  So tonight we are talking about the Tepis Spencer and Monique
• 1:38
  Tepi, who died violently and tragically, according to police
• 1:46
  anyway, at the hands of Michael McKee in in Ohio, just in their
• 1:52
  home just a few blocks away from their alma mater on December
• 1:57
  30th. Dang it.
• 1:59
  Now I'm second guessing myself. I should have these notes, you
• 2:02
  know, a professional would have notes on this was maybe it's a
• 2:09
  yeah. December 30th.
• 2:11
  OK, I, I second guess myself, but I got it.
• 2:14
  The Tepis, just so you know, he was Spencer was a dentist.
• 2:20
  He worked about an hour away from home.
• 2:23
  And on the 30th calls were made to 911 by Co workers and friends
• 2:29
  by the owner of his practice saying Doctor Tepi has not shown
• 2:35
  up for work. And that is way out of character
• 2:38
  for him. And what's even more disturbing
• 2:41
  is that Monique can't be contacted.
• 2:44
  So they asked for a Wellness check.
• 2:47
  There was a bit of a snafu. Police officer went to the wrong
• 2:51
  house. Friends converged on the House.
• 2:54
  They could hear a baby crying inside.
• 2:57
  Finally, police came. Well, actually, one of the
• 3:00
  friends saw a body. Police finally responded and
• 3:05
  found that Monique Tepi had been shot once in the chest.
• 3:09
  Spencer Tepi had been shot multiple times.
• 3:13
  And the man the police say is responsible for this is this
• 3:18
  man, Michael McKee, a vascular surgeon.
• 3:23
  Doctor. McKee, also a graduate of The
• 3:25
  Ohio State University and former husband to Monique Tepe, has
• 3:31
  been has been charged in the murder.
• 3:33
  He was indicted late last week. And we've got that indictment.
• 3:37
  We are going to read. There is some some information
• 3:40
  in there that I think is important to read for us to know
• 3:44
  because a lot of us, I mean, anytime something like this
• 3:47
  happens, our question, our collect the the collective
• 3:52
  question is why? Why as Stewie Griffin, let's say

  wheat Thins, you want to eat some wheat Thins?

  Why, why, why did this beautiful family get torn apart?
• 4:09
  Why did these two young parents lose their lives in such a
• 4:16
  violent and unnatural way? Now, one of the places where we
• 4:23
  can go to maybe understand it a little bit is the indictment.
• 4:31
  And then I think I'm going out of order from how I have my tabs
• 4:35
  set up. I think we're going to go to the
• 4:36
  indictment first and then I want to hear from one of their
• 4:39
  friends. So come with me, will you?

  Over to Acrobat to this indictment which was passed down

  on the 16th, which was Friday State of Ohio, Franklin County.

  The grand jury term beginning January 9th and indictment for
• 4:58
  aggravated murder, 2 counts with specifications, aggravated
• 5:02
  burglary, 1 count with specifications and aggravated
• 5:06
  murder 2 counts with specifications.
• 5:08
  And you will see that the first two counts are the Ohio Code
• 5:15
  subsection 29, O3 dot O 1A, and the second is subsection 29 O3
• 5:21
  dot O 1B. So if we're asking ourselves how
• 5:26
  does somebody get charged with four counts of murder for
• 5:30
  murdering 2 people, it's because the grand jury is saying he
• 5:34
  violated 2 sections of the law. Let's begin with count 1,
• 5:39
  aggravated murder. This is subsection A.
• 5:43
  The jurors of the Grand Jury of the State of Ohio, duly
• 5:47
  selected, impaneled, sworn and charged to inquire of crimes and
• 5:51
  offenses committed within the body of Franklin County in the
• 5:54
  State of Ohio. Upon their oath, do find and
• 5:57
  present that Michael McKee late of said county, meaning he
• 6:02
  previously lived in this county on or about December 30th, 2025,
• 6:07
  within the County of Franklin aforesaid, in violation OF29-O3
• 6:11
  dot O 1A of the Ohio Revised Code, did purposefully and with
• 6:17
  prior calculation and design cause the death of Monique Tepe.
• 6:25
  There are a couple speculate specifications, both of them
• 6:31
  firearms related, one at 2941.145 A and one at 2941.144
• 6:40
  A. The grand jurors further find
• 6:43
  and specify that Michael McKee had a firearm on or about his
• 6:46
  person or under his control while committing the offense and
• 6:49
  used it to facilitate the offense.
• 6:52
  And I'm not sure, I mean it does say that one is a six year
• 6:59
  specification, 1 is a three-year specification.

  Ah, here we are. The grand jurors further find
• 7:05
  and specify that Michael McKee had a firearm that was equipped
• 7:08
  with a firearm muffler or suppressor on or about his
• 7:13
  person or under his control while committing the offense.

  Now this guy's to me goes to pre planning, right?
• 7:24
  If you, if you are going to attach a suppressor to your
• 7:29
  firearm, those are not easy to buy.
• 7:33
  OK, you have to have, I'm sure all states have different codes,
• 7:39
  but I think it's, I think it's federally, there's a federal
• 7:44
  mandate here. I should have, again, a
• 7:47
  professional would have looked this up, but no, you cannot just
• 7:51
  go into Walmart or into Bass Pro Shops or Big 5 Sporting Goods or
• 7:58
  whatever and purchase a suppressor.

  You have to have very specific licensure in most places, all
• 8:06
  the places that I'm aware. Let me say that again, all of
• 8:11
  the places of which I'm aware, you have to have a special
• 8:16
  license for that. Now could it possibly be that he
• 8:22
  3D printed this or that he manufactured it himself?
• 8:26
  I mean I will I will admit to this since I was like 15 when I
• 8:32
  committed the offense. But my friend and I used to fire
• 8:36
  his 22 with homemade mufflers made out in some cases out of
• 8:42
  potatoes and some cases made out of like 2 liter bottles and you
• 8:48
  know other things. So it's possible that it's
• 8:51
  something that he manufactured or you know, manufactured being
• 8:58
  a loose term for taped some things to the end of his firearm
• 9:02
  all the way to maybe he 3D printed it, which by the way
• 9:06
  requires, I mean that requires a special barrel too.
• 9:14
  Like it, it requires some, it requires some planning is what
• 9:19
  I'm saying here. OK, page 2, this is an
• 9:27
  aggravated murder charge with both specifications, this of
• 9:34
  Spencer Tepi and again said they had a firearm on his person and
• 9:41
  he had a firearm equipped with a muffler or suppressor.

  structure. When Spencer Tepi and Monique

  Tepi, a person other than the accomplice was present with
• 10:53
  purpose to commit in the structure or in the separately
• 10:56
  secured or separately occupied portion of the structure.

  Any criminal offense and the offender inflicted physical harm
• 11:04
  on Spencer Tepi and or Monique Tepi and or the offender had a
• 11:08
  deadly weapon, to wit a firearm on or about his person under his
• 11:13
  control. One of the things that I mean, I
• 11:17
  see charges like this all the time.
• 11:19
  I think when we think burglary, we are thinking that they're
• 11:22
  going to commit some sort of larceny, some sort of theft.
• 11:28
  But burglary really is, is more about the entering of a, of a
• 11:34
  structure where you don't have permission to be there, right?
• 11:37
  And you're doing it by stealth. Specifications are that he had a
• 11:43
  firearm on his person and that the firearm forearm, the firearm
• 11:51
  was equipped with a muffler or suppressor.
• 11:55
  So that's count 3. Count 4.
• 11:58
  Let's see what is different about this.
• 12:00
  So this is the the next set of murder charges.
• 12:07
  So blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah blah.
• 12:09
  On or about December 30th within the county of Franklin after set
• 12:13
  in violation OF29-O3 dot O 1B of the Ohio Revised Code did
• 12:19
  purposefully cause the death of Monique Tepi while committing
• 12:23
  and or fleeing immediate after committing the offensive
• 12:26
  aggravated burglary. OK so one the the first couple
• 12:31
  of charges or counts are that he premeditatedly murdered the
• 12:38
  Tepis. The next counts are that he did
• 12:41
  so while in the Commission of aggravated burglary and then of
• 12:48
  course he had a firearm and that firearm was equipped with a
• 12:56
  muffler or suppressor. And then count 5 has to do with
• 13:00
  it's the same count, but against Spencer Tepi.

  I'm curious to hear what your comments will be on this.

  I I think like in Ohio, let me go just do a quick little little
• 13:17
  search, real quick little search a Rooney, what are the elements
• 13:26
  of aggravated murder? Just want to find out what
• 13:34
  elements they have to prove. OK, so element #1 is that there
• 13:41
  was prior calculation and design.
• 13:43
  A person purposefully causes the death of another with prior
• 13:47
  calculation and design. The elements of that are, let's
• 13:52
  see, the defendant acted purposefully, the defendant
• 13:56
  caused the death of another, the killing was planned or
• 13:59
  calculated beforehand. More than a split second
• 14:02
  decision. This is Ohio's version of
• 14:05
  premeditated murder. The next one is killing certain
• 14:12
  protected persons like police officers, first responders,
• 14:15
  corrections officers. There's a murder for hire
• 14:18
  version of it. There's killing while committing
• 14:22
  certain felonies like like burglary.
• 14:26
  There's killing of a child under 13 and and then by prisoner.
• 14:32
  So I think the ones that that apply here are the prior
• 14:37
  calculation and design is premeditated murder.
• 14:39
  He acted purposefully, he caused the death of another, it was
• 14:43
  planned or calculated beforehand.
• 14:46
  And then the other one would be he caused the death while
• 14:51
  committing or attempting serious felonies like aggravated
• 14:54
  burglary. The elements are that the
• 14:57
  defendant purposefully caused the death, that the death
• 14:59
  occurred during the commissioner attempt of the enumerated
• 15:02
  felony. So I don't think these are going
• 15:06
  to be all that hard to prove, folks, because from what we
• 15:09
  understand from the police chief, they have the gun.
• 15:16
  They have the gun. And this, this is, I mean, this
• 15:24
  spit it out, Gavin. It is so interesting to me that
• 15:32
  a person is highly educated as a vascular surgeon would not have
• 15:39
  the common sense. I mean I'm glad he didn't, but
• 15:43
  would not have the common sense to rid himself of the murder
• 15:49
  weapon and the suppressor. It's like I, I wonder if that
• 15:56
  goes to his ego, right? Maybe.

  I mean, there are a couple things that I'm thinking of
• 16:02
  here. Maybe it goes more to his.

  I'm going to get caught anyway. Maybe he thought that or maybe

  he was just like, I'm not going to get caught.

  I was so smart. I was so good at this.

  I did this so perfectly well. And I don't know this, but this

  is just me speculating. I stalked them.

  I figured out how to get into the house.

  But guys, for every, for every major crime that is planned and

  let's say accomplished, there are like 50 different mistakes

  that everybody makes along the way.

  of all, he's not a young man, right?

  He's in his 30s. Somebody with or 40s, maybe.

  He's had some life experience and he's highly educated.

  county, citizens of the area that get called in for jury

  Let's let's see if we murder or aggravated murder with a child

  witness. Ohio allows prosecutors to seek
• 22:17
  harsher penalties when the offense is committed in the
• 22:20
  presence of a minor. Under Ohio sentencing law, the
• 22:23
  court consider as an aggravating factor that the victim's child
• 22:27
  or another minor was present. The child directly witnessed the
• 22:30
  killing or aftermath. The exposure caused
• 22:33
  psychological harm to the child. This does not automatically
• 22:38
  elevate murder to aggravated murder, but it strongly impacts
• 22:41
  sentencing and can support maximum penalties.

  Of course, they can do a separate charge of endangering
• 22:50
  children, which is Ohio Revised Code 2919.22.

  So I think we might be able to infer here, Mouse, that a child

  was not directly present, was not in the room when it
• 23:10
  happened. And, you know, media reports and
• 23:13
  even the police have said the children were not harmed.

  And I've been very careful to add in a qualifier there.

  The children were not physically harmed.

  quadrupedic creatures that are watching this, but most of us

  are human beings. I think that we, our emotions

  can overpower our brains, our intelligence, right?

  We can be driven to do things that we would not reasonably or
• 25:41
  logically come to the those conclusions to do.

  And unless there's something wrong, of course, it all happens

  in our brain. But like, something's wrong

  emotionally. Yeah.

  So this guy was highly intelligent, doesn't seem to

  have a lot of common sense. And when I say this guy, I mean

  this guy, Mr. McKee or Doctor McKee, in my opinion, says hello

  from southeastern Kentucky. Does anyone know if there was
• 26:09
  camera, camera footage of the backyard?
• 26:11
  Also, did he know how to pick a lock?
• 26:13
  So as far as I can tell, there is no direct information from
• 26:21
  investigators, from police, from prosecutors that say how he
• 26:25
  entered the house, if he if he, you know how he did that.
• 26:32
  We know that they're that they received camera footage from all
• 26:36
  over the place. They only released the one view
• 26:40
  of the Nest camera. I think it was publicly, but but
• 26:45
  they have said that they got all sorts of video from the
• 26:50
  neighborhood. So I don't, I don't know if
• 26:53
  there was a camera in the backyard on the House, in the
• 26:58
  house. I don't know specifically, but

  I, I should you know, last week when we were talking about this,
• 27:07
  one of the things that I, I told you guys are these keypad entry,
• 27:14
  you know, locks, the ones that you can buy from Lowe's or Home
• 27:22
  Depot or Amazon, the kind of consumer grade ones.

  They, they are easily defeatable and YouTube is full of videos on
• 27:35
  how to defeat them. My favorite channel when it
• 27:39
  comes to that kind of stuff is lock picking lawyer, but there
• 27:41
  are other channels as well. These are these are easily
• 27:46
  defeatable. But you know what else is really
• 27:48
  easy to do? If somebody has binoculars or
• 27:53
  telephoto lens or whatever they can, they can stalk from a long
• 27:58
  way away and just simply watch to see what what the what the
• 28:05
  code is. And I remember when I was a kid,
• 28:12
  the, the church building that we went to had one of those keypads
• 28:17
  for us to get into. But instead of it just a regular
• 28:23
  keypad, when you activated the keypad, it put the numbers all
• 28:27
  in a different place. So if somebody watched you put
• 28:30
  in the number, they, they wouldn't be able to get in
• 28:33
  anyway. Like there are very, very good
• 28:36
  systems out there. I think they're mostly
• 28:38
  commercial, but you can buy them and you can be secure in your
• 28:44
  homes. The other thing, I mean, if he
• 28:50
  had any technical expertise in terms of mobile devices or
• 28:54
  things like that, he could have, he could have hacked her app, he
• 28:58
  could have cloned her a phone. There's lots of different
• 29:00
  things. I'm, I'm very interested to find
• 29:02
  out what it was that actually happened there.

  Also, Oh my goodness, there are so many there.

  There's so many tools, like if there's so many tools to just
• 29:15
  bypass a lock all together or, you know, to like you don't have
• 29:20
  to do single pin picking to pick a lock in many cases, not all
• 29:25
  cases, but in many cases, there are tools where you can, where
• 29:30
  you can just reach around and unlock it from the inside.

  And, you know, you can get under the door or get through the gap
• 29:36
  there, there. There are tons of tools.
