- 0:21Baylee: Hello and welcome to Mocktail Minutes.
- 0:24Baylee: This is Baylee.
- 0:25Brianna: And I'm Brianna.
- 0:26Baylee: Every episode we are going to share a fun drink we're having.
- 0:29Baylee: That's a mocktail usually.
- 0:31Baylee: Usually we're gonna do mocktails because we're recording at, well, today it's at nine o'clock in the morning, so it would probably be frowned upon to have a cocktail at nine o'clock on a Monday.
- 0:41Baylee: So,
- 0:42Brianna: On a Monday.
- 0:42Brianna: Yeah, it's a Monday.
- 0:44Brianna: Especially like, you
- 0:45Baylee: Yes, we're doing mocktails.
- 0:47Baylee: Today I am trying swoon, this one is the peach iced tea flavor and it's sweetened from monk fruit.
- 0:53Baylee: So I do like that they're really good.
- 0:55Baylee: I thoroughly love them.
- 0:57Baylee: So swoon peach iced tea today.
- 0:59Brianna: And I have hEBs.
- 1:01Brianna: It's funny cuz it's almost the same color.
- 1:03Brianna: I have HEBs, just unsweetened sparkling water.
- 1:06Brianna: The h e B brand, shout out to h e b.
- 1:08Brianna: Anyone who's in south Texas knows what h e b is.
- 1:11Brianna: If you don't, it is like the only grocery store allowed in this area.
- 1:15Brianna: So whatever grocery store you have, it's just h e b here.
- 1:18Brianna: Anyways.
- 1:18Brianna: It's zero calories, zero sugar, and it's just carbonated water.
- 1:23Brianna: And they're really good.
- 1:23Brianna: And I always get asked this question like, does carbonated water count towards my water intake?
- 1:28Brianna: Yes.
- 1:28Brianna: So if you're looking for a fun way to get more water, sparkling water, it is oh, and mine's grape fruit.
- 1:33Baylee: And speaking of Texas, I'm actually coming to San Antonio in December.
- 1:37Brianna: Oh fun.
- 1:38Brianna: I am like just north of San Antonio, so that'd be fun.
- 1:41Baylee: Maybe we can meet up.
- 1:42Brianna: Yes, absolutely.
- 1:43Brianna: Yeah, I'm where the rivers are, little river rat town.
- 1:47Baylee: Well, actually a group of 20 of us, of my family, so it might be a little crazy, but it's gonna be fun and right around Christmas.
- 1:54Baylee: So I'm really excited for that.
- 1:55Baylee: I love Christmas vacationing,
- 1:57Brianna: Oh yeah.'
- 1:57Baylee: Hopefully I'm getting away from Missouri Snow.
- 1:59Brianna: I mean, we get some cold, but it'll probably be much warmer then.
- 2:02Brianna: I mean, it will be, I'm not saying probably it will.
- 2:04Brianna: Yeah, it'll be like 40 40, so we'll all be freezing, but
- 2:08Baylee: it's fine.
- 2:09Baylee: Everything's fine.
- 2:10Baylee: All right, so now let's get to what you actually came here for probably not to hear about my vacationing.
- 2:19Baylee: So today we're gonna talk about you can't just swipe your credit card and expect results.
- 2:25Baylee: I feel like this is something we kind of see a lot, and even I've done it to myself before, like I'll pay for a program.
- 2:31Baylee: I'm like, okay, now change my life.
- 2:33Baylee: And it doesn't happen.
- 2:34Brianna: Yeah, it's the same way with like supplements too.
- 2:36Brianna: Like I'll be like, Ooh, yes, I am so excited to try this, and I'll get it, and then it'll sit in my cupboard.
- 2:41Brianna: Or I'll take it like once or twice and be like, I didn't really notice anything.
- 2:45Brianna: You gotta be consistent.
- 2:46Brianna: You gotta actually do, you gotta actually do more than just purchase.
- 2:49Brianna: So yeah, I'm glad we're talking about this today.
- 2:51Baylee: Yes.
- 2:52Baylee: So I would say, A lot of times when we're thinking about this, where we're like, if we just pay for this, then our life is going to change.
- 2:59Baylee: Which, yeah, I mean that's step one.
- 3:01Baylee: If you pay for a program, that's how you get in the program.
- 3:05Baylee: If you pay to work one-on-one, that's how you get us to work with you.
- 3:08Baylee: That's how we dedicate our time to you.
- 3:10Baylee: But that's just step one.
- 3:13Baylee: You still have to put it in the work, to be quite honest.
- 3:16Baylee: And like we both said, we've both fell into this before where we're like, we'll swipe our card, everything's going to be great because we paid for it.
- 3:23Baylee: So now we should get results.
- 3:26Baylee: And kind of how, Brianna, you were just saying where you'll like try it one time and you're like, oh, it didn't work.
- 3:32Baylee: Well, I see this a lot too, where we will try something for one, maybe two days if we don't see results and we're like, oh nope, nevermind.
- 3:40Baylee: This is not gonna work.
- 3:41Baylee: You might have to actually try more than two days.
- 3:43Baylee: I'm just saying.
- 3:44Brianna: Yes.
- 3:44Brianna: And I feel like we especially get this, oh, I shouldn't say especially, I guess it's the only thing I really have it to relate it to, but we get it a lot of times in Metabolism Makeover.
- 3:54Brianna: There will be like clients who are like, oh, it sounded so great.
- 3:57Brianna: I was really excited for it.
- 3:58Brianna: I did it.
- 3:59Brianna: I bought it.
- 4:00Brianna: But then, then they kind of fall off, you know, like we throw a lot at you week one, week two.
- 4:04Brianna: I feel like they kind of fall off maybe mid-week one or by week two, and then they're just like, it didn't work.
- 4:13Brianna: I'm doing something wrong.
- 4:15Brianna: I didn't do it right.
- 4:16Brianna: Whatever.
- 4:17Brianna: And you know, you get like the M three program included in it.
- 4:20Brianna: And so sometimes these people will like stick around and then they'll redo Metabolism Makeover.
- 4:25Brianna: And I've had multiple clients be like, okay, I purchased a year ago, or I purchased six months ago.
- 4:32Brianna: I didn't really give it a go.
- 4:33Brianna: I decided I finally was gonna really apply it, and now it's like life changing or now I'm like, wow, I actually see a difference.
- 4:40Brianna: I just like wasn't ready that first time when I bought.
- 4:43Brianna: So I think, you know, just being honest with yourself.
- 4:46Brianna: I feel like sometimes we are like preparing for something to fail.
- 4:49Brianna: Especially if you've tried a lot of diets, you're kind of just like, it's not gonna work and it sounds really good and you want it to work, and so you're like, screw it.
- 4:56Brianna: Let's see it.
- 4:56Brianna: You purchase it, you swipe your card, and then you don't really go all in.
- 5:01Brianna: I think your preconceived notions really kind of ruin it sometimes.
- 5:06Brianna: Like you're purchasing it, you're spending money.
- 5:09Brianna: Be prepared apply it, because if you think it's not gonna work, it's not gonna work
- 5:13Baylee: I feel like too, so when you do swipe your card like I think it does help because it puts your skin in the game.
- 5:18Baylee: I've seen this happen so many times where we do free things because it's free, why the heck not?
- 5:23Baylee: But if we are constantly just doing these free things, a lot of times we just don't care as much.
- 5:28Baylee: We don't have that skin in the game to really just motivate us to get there.
- 5:32Baylee: Like it is a motivator because when you're spending money on something, you usually want to see a return on investment.
- 5:38Baylee: You don't want to just light your money on fire and see you later.
- 5:42Baylee: So it definitely does help get your skin in the game, helps you get going, but then you still have to put in the work.
- 5:47Baylee: And we've talked in our previous episodes about finding your why, so we're not gonna talk about that again.
- 5:53Baylee: You can listen to previous episodes because that's what's going to motivate your first, like you have to find your why.
- 5:59Baylee: I don't know how many times we can say it, but we'll keep saying it until people believe us.
- 6:04Baylee: But today also kind of just thinking about setting these habits as you get going, because what you choose to do every day, a lot of it comes from habits.
- 6:13Baylee: I mean, think about it, when you get ready in the morning, usually it's the same kind of progress every day.
- 6:20Baylee: It's how you brush your teeth, put in contacts, brush your hair when you put on makeup, like usually it's about the same type of routine.
- 6:27Baylee: And then, If you think about those days that you do your routine a little different.
- 6:32Baylee: It's almost like your whole day is thrown off, or at least that's how I feel.
- 6:36Baylee: Like if I do my hair out of order from my makeup, then I'm like, what's going on in the morning?
- 6:41Baylee: And it's almost like my morning goes slower because what I'm used to doing, just feels thrown off.
- 6:46Baylee: So habits are really the foundation to things and while what we teach you can be very simple, not gonna lie to you, you're probably going to have to put in more work at the beginning because it's new, it's change, it's establishing new habits.
- 7:04Baylee: So then just thinking about working up to it slowly and you are working on a habit and if you mess up one day and it like kind of throws you off completely.
- 7:14Baylee: And that just shows you, you don't have that habit down yet.
- 7:17Baylee: Just to be quite honest.
- 7:19Baylee: This is a non-food example, but I used to sleep in my contacts all the time, which a hundred percent don't do that.
- 7:25Baylee: It's terrible for you.
- 7:26Baylee: But I had an irrational fear that I was going to get kidnapped when I was living alone, and they wouldn't let me put my glasses on.
- 7:33Baylee: So I slept in my contacts.
- 7:36Baylee: So I slept in my contact and then I got an ulcer in my eye, and then I almost went blind.
- 7:41Brianna: Oh my God.
- 7:43Brianna: Then you really can't see Baylee.
- 7:46Baylee: Well, I had to break that habit.
- 7:47Baylee: I had no choice because I want to be able to see, especially if there's something I can do to prevent that.
- 7:55Baylee: So I had to break that habit and it actually was really hard, even though I knew in the back of my mind, like, if I don't take my contacts out.
- 8:01Baylee: I'm going to go blind.
- 8:04Baylee: But it was still hard to do.
- 8:05Baylee: Now, like a year or two later, I'm really good about taking my contacts out and some nights it's not something I want to do, but you know what, I still do it.
- 8:14Baylee: So that's an extreme example about motivating you to break your bad habits.
- 8:18Brianna: Right.
- 8:19Brianna: Well, and I think that's just what it is.
- 8:21Brianna: The whole, like you can't just swipe your credit card and expect something to happen.
- 8:25Brianna: It kind of goes hand in hand with the question like, will metabolism makeover work for me?
- 8:29Brianna: And again, it doesn't have to be Metabolism makeover, it could be anything like, will this work for me?
- 8:34Brianna: And number one, like you said, you have to be willing to kind of change your behavior because what we do know is, Your habits and what you do right now isn't working for you.
- 8:44Brianna: If it was, you wouldn't be looking for a program, you wouldn't be looking to make change.
- 8:49Brianna: So it's like, you have to be willing to make those habits.
- 8:52Brianna: And sometimes it's not the easiest.
- 8:54Brianna: Like I think people take purchasing something as like, It should mean that it's gonna be easy for me.
- 9:00Brianna: Like I paid for it, I did what I needed to do.
- 9:03Brianna: Now this change should come easy and the change doesn't always come easy because we are creatures of habit.
- 9:08Brianna: Even when we know, okay, I shouldn't sleep on my contacts, like I could go blind.
- 9:13Brianna: It takes a while to build up to not sleeping in your contacts.
- 9:16Brianna: You know, it just does.
- 9:17Brianna: So you really have to go in and be like, okay, I've swiped my credit card, but now I need to put in the work a little bit.
- 9:22Brianna: And that is why you pay for it.
- 9:25Brianna: I am one of those people.
- 9:27Brianna: And to be honest, this group program is actually very inexpensive compared to other programs.
- 9:34Brianna: But I will say, the more money you pay, the more you're gonna be like, okay, I'm gonna get my money's worth.
- 9:39Brianna: I'm gonna really do it.
- 9:40Brianna: I wanna see the change.
- 9:40Brianna: But I think maybe that's why sometimes people do struggle is cuz it's not super expensive and Right, like it's relative.
- 9:48Brianna: Like money is re like some people might think it's very expensive.
- 9:51Brianna: Some people might be like, oh that's nothing.
- 9:52Brianna: We get that, which is why all of us always have so much free information too.
- 9:57Brianna: Like my goal is to give people freebies.
- 9:59Brianna: They have information coming to my page.
- 10:00Brianna: They don't need to purchase anything to like understand how to live healthy and you know.
- 10:04Brianna: But if you're really like, I wanna purchase a program, I want it to work.
- 10:08Brianna: You are gonna have to have some skin in the game, and then you're gonna have to put some work in.
- 10:12Baylee: And you have to see the value in it as well.
- 10:16Baylee: we all value different things, like$150 on a pair of tennis shoes.
- 10:21Baylee: If you wear your tennis shoes every day, you're going on walks every day, you're probably going to really like those tennis shoes.
- 10:28Baylee: I mean, yeah, it might suck to be like, okay, I just dropped$150 on another pair of shoes.
- 10:33Baylee: But you're going to value that.
- 10:34Baylee: You know you want those in your life.
- 10:36Baylee: They're going to help your feet not hurt every day.
- 10:39Baylee: But if you're someone who is like, I don't walk, I don't wear tennis shoes, then$150, you're probably gonna be like, absolutely not.
- 10:46Baylee: But when looking at anything to help personal development, to help anything in your life, you have to see that value.
- 10:54Baylee: And I also understand that everyone's room for investing in programs is a little differently too, and that is why we have different levels for you.
- 11:04Baylee: My highest level to offer you is one-on-one coaching because you are getting my full-on attention and it's not just attention when we are on a call.
- 11:12Baylee: We are also doing like research behind the
- 11:14Brianna: Yeah.
- 11:15Brianna: Mm-hmm.
- 11:16Baylee: answers for you, we are focusing on you, and then we have the group coaching, which is still providing great information, but it's just less one-on-one time.
- 11:24Brianna: It's less tailored to you, specifically?
- 11:27Baylee: exactly, and then we have the free information.
- 11:30Baylee: We both offer lots of free information.
- 11:32Baylee: So it's all in what you see the value is.
- 11:35Baylee: And when you value things more, you're probably going to pay more attention to it.
- 11:39Baylee: You're going to want to do it more because you just spent all this money on it.
- 11:43Baylee: And that tells me too, that you care about your body and you want to make changes.
- 11:47Baylee: You just need help getting there too.
- 11:48Baylee: Maybe.
- 11:49Brianna: Mm-hmm.
- 11:50Brianna: You gotta wait until you're fully invested.
- 11:52Brianna: And I don't just mean money wise, I mean like, okay, this is it.
- 11:56Brianna: I'm serious.
- 11:57Brianna: Everybody kind of understands this.
- 11:59Brianna: Like there might be a lot of things that interest you, but it'll be a while before you actually buy it.
- 12:03Brianna: You know, supplements are a good one cuz I feel like they're all over the internet, but it's like, okay, I've thought about it.
- 12:09Brianna: Oh, I like it.
- 12:10Brianna: Okay.
- 12:10Brianna: That looks interesting.
- 12:12Brianna: Okay, now I'm gonna buy it.
- 12:13Brianna: Or like same thing with like the boutiques.
- 12:15Brianna: You know, if you're like me and you're scrolling on Instagram, the same thing will pop up.
- 12:18Brianna: And the longer you look at it, the more it's gonna pop up.
- 12:21Brianna: You're probably not buying it the first time you see it, or the second or the third.
- 12:24Brianna: It'll be like after you've thought like, you know what?
- 12:27Brianna: I could wear that here, or I could do that, or this would be cute.
- 12:30Brianna: And then you buy it.
- 12:30Brianna: So it's the same thing with Metabolism Makeover, working with a coach one-on-one, like you might be interested and you might think, oh, this is good.
- 12:38Brianna: I do want this, I want this to be me.
- 12:40Brianna: But you're just not there yet.
- 12:42Brianna: So you gotta be fully committed.
- 12:44Brianna: And sometimes people will purchase before they're fully committed.
- 12:48Brianna: And I think you'll notice with anything, once you're a hundred percent invested, you do see some sort of difference or change or good outcome come from it.
- 12:56Brianna: So you can't just stop it, swiping your card or wanting that for you.
- 13:00Brianna: You know, it's like, oh, I want these supplements to like, you know, help my digestion.
- 13:05Brianna: So I bought'em, but they're not gonna help my digestion unless I take them regularly and do the other things I need to do.
- 13:11Brianna: You know?
- 13:11Brianna: And that's going back to what you said.
- 13:13Brianna: It's a habit.
- 13:14Brianna: It's a habit.
- 13:14Brianna: So establish wanting the change and investing in yourself, and then setting yourself up to do the work.
- 13:20Brianna: And eventually it will become habit.
- 13:22Brianna: So it's not always gonna be this thing you have to work at, you just have to make it your new go-to thing that you do.
- 13:28Baylee: This also can come down to are you interested or are you committed?
- 13:32Baylee: There's a big difference there.
- 13:35Baylee: Are you just interested in getting healthier?
- 13:38Baylee: Well, to be quite honest, we're, we're putting out a lot of honesty here.
- 13:42Baylee: Sorry for the tough love, but also not sorry, but if you are interested.
- 13:48Baylee: Then it's almost like you're relying more on motivation to get you through.
- 13:53Brianna: Mm-hmm.
- 13:54Baylee: But here's a little news flash for you.
- 13:57Baylee: Motivation is not always going to be there.
- 14:00Baylee: You're not always going to be motivated.
- 14:03Baylee: And as much as we want to be, we're gonna have tough days.
- 14:06Baylee: We're going to have days where we just want to lay on the couch, but that's probably not where.
- 14:12Baylee: We're going to reach our goals is on the couch, right?
- 14:15Baylee: Yeah.
- 14:16Baylee: Not saying you can never lay on the couch.
- 14:17Baylee: Thats not what I'm saying here, but if you are just interested, you're relying on motivation.
- 14:22Baylee: Motivation is not going to be there.
- 14:24Baylee: You're not going to have your skin fully in the game.
- 14:27Baylee: Now, if you are committed, then you are committed.
- 14:32Baylee: Like nothing is going to get in your way.
- 14:34Baylee: You have these goals, you are just, You're on it.
- 14:38Baylee: You're set.
- 14:38Baylee: You're ready to go.
- 14:40Baylee: You are committed to changing your life, and that is the big difference.
- 14:43Baylee: Even if you are not motivated, even if you are like, I am not super excited to make breakfast this morning, you're gonna be like, but I am committed to making sure I can focus until lunchtime into making sure I'm not starving or making sure I'm not just reaching for a handful of m and ms all day because I skip breakfast.
- 15:04Baylee: That's the difference between being interested and committed.
- 15:07Brianna: And again, that's the going back to your why, like, I mean, I don't think there's ever gonna be an episode where we're like, we don't circle back to the why, but that's exactly why like, I'm doing this because this.
- 15:21Brianna: Even though like weight loss is okay, weight loss cannot be just I'm buying this program cuz I wanna lose weight.
- 15:27Brianna: that's not fully committed.
- 15:28Brianna: That's not even enough reason to make a habit change.
- 15:32Brianna: If you think about it, you've probably wanted to lose weight for as long as you can remember.
- 15:35Brianna: You know what I mean?
- 15:36Brianna: So it's like, well, that's not a good enough.
- 15:38Brianna: Why?
- 15:38Brianna: So finding your why, being fully invested, not just interested, and then committing, making those behavior changes.
- 15:45Baylee: And as you create these new habits, so I'm sure we've all heard this saying like, go, what is it?
- 15:51Baylee: Oh, go hard or go home.
- 15:53Baylee: Where it's like if you don't do a hundred percent, then it's not even worth it.
- 15:57Baylee: And I've come to a point where I don't even like that saying, like there are some days where I am boxing and I'm like, if I go hard, I'm probably just going to stay home next time.
- 16:06Brianna: Yeah, I'm just Exactly.
- 16:08Brianna: Well, and that's what I tell people when it comes to creating any new habit, like.
- 16:11Brianna: If you go too hard, eventually you're just gonna not Right.
- 16:15Brianna: It's not sustainable.
- 16:15Brianna: You're just not gonna do it.
- 16:16Brianna: You're gonna give up.
- 16:17Brianna: That's like my whole one.
- 16:18Brianna: I shouldn't say my whole, one of my issues is 75.
- 16:21Brianna: Hard is, it's so hard to do.
- 16:24Brianna: People do it and then they probably don't work out again for at least six to eight months after finishing it because it was just so hard.
- 16:31Brianna: You know?
- 16:31Brianna: I'm like, yeah, makes sense.
- 16:33Brianna: Like, go hard or go home.
- 16:34Brianna: I don't know why we're always like in this Let's fight our bodies and like power through, go against them or we could work with our body and really just have workouts be enjoyable and still get results instead of being like, just power through.
- 16:48Brianna: I don't know.
- 16:49Baylee: We don't have to be a hundred percent, or it's like it doesn't matter.
- 16:53Baylee: As long as you are actually trying your best.
- 16:55Baylee: Now this is not an excuse to just be like, nevermind, just not feeling it today.
- 17:01Baylee: This is your permission to ease into things because you might be coming from a place where you're trying to change up a lot of things.
- 17:09Baylee: And yes, I have some clients where I could give them a list of 40 things to change.
- 17:14Baylee: But I'm going to tell them three things to work on because we are going harder going home than we are going to go too hard in two days.
- 17:22Baylee: We're just going to stay home and we just, we get overwhelmed and our brain almost gets scared and it feels threatened and we kind of do a little shutdown.
- 17:33Baylee: And I used to do this to myself all the time, especially I would say, End of high school, beginning of college years, I was terrified of the freshman 15.
- 17:41Baylee: So I would run like three miles a day and then I would work out.
- 17:46Baylee: I would be really into fruits and veggies.
- 17:49Baylee: I would skimp out on carbs.
- 17:51Baylee: I didn't really eat like I ate protein, I guess had dinner and stuff, but not really other meals.
- 17:56Baylee: So there's a lot of things I did not do great, but I was just trying to go hard at staying skinny, making sure I was getting runs in, making sure I was working out, and it really backfired.
- 18:08Baylee: It did not ever last more than five days, maybe because I was just exhausted.
- 18:14Baylee: Like yeah, I would feel really good after the run and I would eat my meals and everything, but.
- 18:20Baylee: It was too much, too much at one time to try and change.
- 18:23Baylee: And as I just said, I was not eating great meals anyways.
- 18:26Baylee: There was a lot going on when I was trying to go hard or go home.
- 18:29Baylee: So instead of doing this, when you're working on these habits, start slowly, like if you're trying to get more steps in your day, and you are usually averaging about 2000 steps.
- 18:39Baylee: I still have days where I get in 2000 steps and I'm like, well, that kind of suck.
- 18:43Baylee: But here we are.
- 18:44Baylee: But if you're going for like 2000 and now you're trying to get 10,000, yeah, probably day one, day two, day three,
- 18:51Brianna: Yeah.
- 18:51Brianna: And then after you're like, ah, what am I gonna do that?
- 18:54Brianna: Cause it's such a big step.
- 18:56Brianna: Yes.
- 18:56Brianna: I had a call with the new members last week, and that's what I had said.
- 19:01Brianna: It is not a race, it's a marathon.
- 19:04Brianna: Okay.
- 19:04Brianna: So cliche, but it's true.
- 19:06Brianna: Like we have a while to establish this, Yeah, we give you all these things you could be focusing on.
- 19:12Brianna: There's a million things you could do with anything, right?
- 19:15Brianna: To like make things better or whatever.
- 19:16Brianna: But that's not gonna help if you focus on all of it, slowly build yourself up.
- 19:21Brianna: The important thing is, is you're not gonna be where you are a year from now.
- 19:25Brianna: You know you're gonna be in a better place.
- 19:27Brianna: But it's not gonna happen overnight.
- 19:29Brianna: So that's another thing, like when you swipe your credit card, maybe lower your expectations.
- 19:33Brianna: It's not a magic wand.
- 19:35Brianna: You didn't just instantly become the person that you want to, you know?
- 19:39Brianna: And then, yeah, be realistic.
- 19:42Brianna: set yourself up for success.
- 19:44Brianna: Go slow, Continue to look at yourself and don't compare yourself to everybody else because everybody else has completely different lives, completely different scenarios, bodies, genetics, all of the things and then also find that happy medium of pushing yourself, but also supporting yourself, like you said, every day we can't be laying on the couch if you really wanna make a change, right.
- 20:04Brianna: But it's okay to allow yourself to have days that you're on the couch and you're not like, go hard, go home.
- 20:10Brianna: It's finding that happy medium was just why I like only focusing on a couple of things.
- 20:16Brianna: Like the steps.
- 20:17Brianna: Yeah.
- 20:18Brianna: Don't go from 2000 to 10,000, not realistic.
- 20:21Brianna: Like what's a little bit that you could push yourself but the magic fairy thing, the whole like, I swiped it.
- 20:26Brianna: This is life changing.
- 20:27Brianna: I'm like, ah, it could be.
- 20:29Brianna: And I want that for you.
- 20:30Brianna: I want all the change for you.
- 20:32Brianna: That's what I want.
- 20:33Brianna: Like that's what I live for.
- 20:35Brianna: Like I love that.
- 20:36Baylee: And just kind of give you examples.
- 20:38Baylee: So I mentioned the steps thing because that's actually something I am working on.
- 20:41Baylee: I mean, I work from home.
- 20:42Baylee: I live in a one bedroom apartment.
- 20:44Baylee: There is not a lot of places I am walking between in my house, like I only have a certain amount of square feet.
- 20:51Baylee: So there are some days where I'm like, wow, my steps were really low and it, okay.
- 20:55Baylee: Looking back, this makes sense.
- 20:57Baylee: While I was a little hungrier, because it was maybe coming out of, I was just bored, hunger, boredom, hunger, just kind of staying there for a while while my energy was low because I wasn't getting the blood flowing.
- 21:07Baylee: So that is something I really have been focusing on is just how can I move more throughout the day?
- 21:13Baylee: How can I get more steps in?
- 21:15Baylee: this is not something that comes naturally in my daily life to get 6,000, 8,000 steps in.
- 21:21Baylee: I'm aiming for 8,000 right now, but I have to really plan it out.
- 21:25Baylee: And so my plan right now is to walk, do a walk in the morning.
- 21:30Baylee: And I don't really set a time for that.
- 21:32Baylee: I kind of just base it on what my day's gonna look like, how early I'm getting started, all these different factors.
- 21:38Baylee: But I just make it a plan where I am going to walk, whether it's two minutes, whether it's 15 minutes, we'll figure it out.
- 21:45Baylee: I also try and like look at the time and if I've been sitting in the same spot for an hour, I'm like, okay, time to move a little bit.
- 21:51Baylee: And that's maybe just standing up.
- 21:53Baylee: Or maybe I'll go sit on the floor.
- 21:56Baylee: Maybe I'll go sit outside.
- 21:57Baylee: Like I'm constantly trying to move my body in different spaces, even though that's not necessarily adding up to thousands of steps.
- 22:03Baylee: I'm not just sitting in the same spot all day.
- 22:06Baylee: I really do have to be intentional about getting my steps in, otherwise it doesn't happen.
- 22:10Baylee: And then I have low energy, I feel kind of crappy and I've missed getting my steps in.
- 22:16Baylee: So it's felt really good to work on it, but still a work in progress.
- 22:19Brianna: Yeah, and that's just you being intentional and you have this goal, I wanna make this change, I wanna feel better, I wanna be more energized throughout the day.
- 22:27Brianna: So you know what, this is what I can do.
- 22:29Brianna: And kind of holding yourself accountable.
- 22:31Brianna: And that's what we try to do.
- 22:33Brianna: We are here to help you facilitate those changes and kind of be that safety net and that guide along the way, but, You're the one putting in the work.
- 22:42Brianna: You're the one who is have that interest, have that intention, made that physical step to swipe your card, and now you need to put in the work and we will tell you everything you need to do, but you gotta wanna do it.
- 22:54Brianna: So you know, there's like some tough love, we get it.
- 22:57Brianna: We all come from different backgrounds.
- 22:59Brianna: We understand like life is life.
- 23:01Brianna: That's another thing we get is like, sometimes people are like, I bought it, but like, my life's so crazy.
- 23:06Brianna: There's no way I could do X, Y, and Z.
- 23:07Brianna: I can't do it like so and so.
- 23:09Brianna: I can't do this cuz my life is like this when we get it.
- 23:12Brianna: But let us help you find ways to incorporate things into your life.
- 23:17Brianna: And then once you plant those seeds, Apply it and see if it works instead of just being like, it's not gonna work.
- 23:23Brianna: Because, you know, I hate to say it, but I see a lot of people kind of just waste money on a lot of things.
- 23:28Brianna: They buy it cuz they want it to work and then they never really put in the effort and it's like, that's not on anyone but them
- 23:34Baylee: Yeah, and like I said, it's with a lot of different things that we do in our life.
- 23:39Baylee: Like I was looking at this machine, I saw it on Shark Tank.
- 23:43Baylee: I love Shark Tank and I was looking at this machine that makes your like nut milk for you, so you have to put in the nuts and it makes like an almond milk.
- 23:51Baylee: And I was like,
- 23:52Brianna: That's cool.
- 23:53Baylee: awesome.
- 23:53Baylee: I really wanna do this.
- 23:55Baylee: And my boyfriend was like, when are you gonna have time to just make your own almond milk when you can just go get it at the store?
- 24:01Baylee: I'm like, well, yeah, that's true.
- 24:03Baylee: Yeah, I probably would waste my money on it because I am not that committed to making my own almond milk.
- 24:08Baylee: I am perfectly okay with going to buy it from the store.
- 24:12Baylee: Maybe one day I will spend this money on a machine to make it myself, but for now I have way more other things going on than putting aside time to make almond milk.
- 24:23Brianna: I think kitchen appliances is such a good one to use.
- 24:27Brianna: Cause Hello?
- 24:28Brianna: I have so many appliances that I don't use.
- 24:32Brianna: Could I?
- 24:32Brianna: Yes.
- 24:33Brianna: Are they great?
- 24:34Brianna: Yes.
- 24:35Brianna: Is there such good ideas with them?
- 24:37Brianna: Uhhuh?
- 24:38Brianna: Am I gonna do it?
- 24:38Brianna: No.
- 24:39Baylee: Kind of like those little shredders that you do to buy to your vegetables.
- 24:43Baylee: So I actually have like three of them cuz I'm like, oh, I didn't like this one.
- 24:47Baylee: I'll buy this one.
- 24:47Baylee: So I have a pile of veggie shredders, but at the end of the day what I do is I use my ninja and I just think blend them up super quickly.
- 24:58Brianna: Yeah, oh, I have so many kitchen appliances, and they'll stay there until I move again, or until I'm like, mm, oh, I, I forgot I had this.
- 25:08Brianna: This can make my life easier.
- 25:09Brianna: So luckily when you work with a coach, we're not an appliance.
- 25:14Brianna: So we have all kinds of great ideas for you to like really at work in your life.
- 25:18Brianna: So we could be the ninja in your life.
- 25:21Baylee: We won't hide in the kitchen cabinet, on like the top shelf where I can't even, I'll be within reach.
- 25:28Brianna: Yeah.
- 25:28Brianna: I'm here.
- 25:30Baylee: we don't leave you hanging.
- 25:31Brianna: Yeah.
- 25:31Brianna: No, we're here for you.
- 25:32Baylee: we got your back.
- 25:33Baylee: But yes, you still have to put the work.
- 25:35Baylee: And we're gonna work up slowly.
- 25:37Baylee: Even though it can be frustrating, even though I'm sure everything you've tried has been either all or nothing, you can't do this, you can do that.
- 25:45Baylee: You don't have to go hard or go home here.
- 25:47Baylee: You can stay home in your, I don't know.
- 25:50Baylee: You can stay home and still make progress slowly, even if some days are 50%.
- 25:55Brianna: something is better than nothing, which if we haven't recorded something about that, we will.
- 26:01Brianna: But yeah, so hopefully we've helped you guys go a little further than just swiping your card.
- 26:05Brianna: But yeah, if you have ideas Let us know.
- 26:07Brianna: That'd be great because I mean, Baylee and I love chatting about all things this like, obviously that's what we do as our profession, but we wanna talk about what you guys wanna know, like what you guys wanna hear, you know?
- 26:19Baylee: So if you're listening and you're like, oh, I wanna learn more about this, just let us know and we will record it at some point.
- 26:26Brianna: We'll incorporate it, it'll be somewhere like you will be able to hear it.
- 26:30Brianna: So.
- 26:31Baylee: Yeah, these are our fun moments.
- 26:33Baylee: This is our fun time to connect with you, get to chat.
- 26:36Baylee: So please chat back with us.
- 26:38Baylee: Obviously you can't live while we are recording.
- 26:42Baylee: But yeah, feel free to message us with ideas or just tell us what you think about the episodes.
- 26:46Baylee: That I think can be really fun too.
- 26:48Brianna: And if, yeah, just I was gonna say, if you don't have anything nice, don't say that, but be positive.
- 26:54Brianna: We love, we love compliments.
- 26:56Brianna: If you hate it, I guess let us know.
- 26:59Brianna: In d m s tell us why you hate us.
- 27:02Baylee: yeah, give us a reason why you hate give us some tough love, I guess.
- 27:06Brianna: Yeah, it's the coach.
- 27:07Brianna: How can I help you?
- 27:08Brianna: Tell me why you need.
- 27:09Brianna: Yeah, All right.
- 27:11Baylee: closing out this episode, I kinda have two things that I want them to leave with.
- 27:16Baylee: Number one, if you are considering anything in life, yes, we are dieticians talking about nutrition.
- 27:25Baylee: So even if it's not a nutrition program working with us, anything in your life that you're considering, I want you to ask yourself if you're interested or committed,
- 27:34Brianna: Yeah.
- 27:34Baylee: decide that.
- 27:36Baylee: And then kind of step two, once you are to that committed stage, I want you to think of just one habit you're going to work on as you are going to commit to this certain thing.
- 27:47Baylee: And I want you to, just to think of step one.
- 27:50Baylee: Don't think about 10,000 steps at the end of the year.
- 27:55Baylee: That's where you wanna be at.
- 27:55Baylee: I just want you to think about your step one.
- 27:58Brianna: Mm-hmm.
- 27:59Brianna: Yeah.
- 27:59Brianna: Where do you need to begin?
- 28:01Brianna: What can you do?
- 28:02Brianna: And again, small is probably where you need to start, and small is gonna work up to the big.
- 28:08Brianna: So I love that.
- 28:09Brianna: Are you interested or are you committed?
- 28:11Brianna: And if you are committed, what's that first action step you're gonna take?
- 28:15Baylee: Yeah.
- 28:16Brianna: it's not just swiping your card.
- 28:17Baylee: Yeah.
- 28:18Baylee: As you decide what you're going to commit to and your step one, tag us on Instagram.
- 28:23Baylee: We want to hear what you're committing to.
- 28:25Baylee: We want to hear about your life.
- 28:27Baylee: That kind of sounds creepy, but
- 28:29Brianna: it does, but it we do.
- 28:31Brianna: I'm interested.
- 28:31Brianna: It can be about anything.
- 28:32Brianna: I mean anything.
- 28:33Brianna: It doesn't have to be nutrition, diet, fitness related, like you're gonna stop going and getting a coffee every time you go somewhere in your car.
- 28:40Brianna: Step one,
- 28:41Baylee: Mm-hmm.
- 28:41Baylee: I had to stop doing that to save money, so, I
- 28:44Brianna: my toxic trait.
- 28:45Brianna: I don't drink it.
- 28:46Brianna: It's just like a, that habit thing.
- 28:48Brianna: I'm in my car, gotta go do errands, I need coffee, and then it sits in my center console.
- 28:52Baylee: Oh, one really good thing about my coffee.
- 28:55Baylee: I actually get coffee for free now at my complex, which is amazing.
- 28:59Brianna: see that's what I need.
- 29:00Baylee: yeah.
- 29:01Brianna: I don't have a complex.
- 29:02Baylee: Yeah.
- 29:02Baylee: If you're looking for an apartment, maybe that's something my advice to you is ask if they have a coffee bar.
- 29:08Brianna: Yes, that would be, I'm like, that would save me.
- 29:10Brianna: Like, I'm gonna go look for an apartment.
- 29:12Brianna: I need to save money.
- 29:12Brianna: I spend so much money,
- 29:13Baylee: Yeah, that was my selling point honestly.
- 29:16Baylee: And I will save money on coffee and tea and lattes cuz I really like chai lattes.
- 29:21Brianna: Yeah, and, and you probably will to be honest.
- 29:24Baylee: And I would make sure I walk cuz you know, I'm working on my steps.
- 29:27Baylee: I don't drive down there.
- 29:29Brianna: For your free coffee, we have habit stacking.
- 29:33Baylee: yep.
- 29:34Brianna: Oh, all right.
- 29:35Brianna: Well, it's been fun, you guys.
- 29:36Brianna: Let us know how you liked the episode and what you wanna hear next.
- 29:40Baylee: Have a great week everybody.
- 29:42Baylee: And decide what you're going to commit to.
- 29:45Baylee: Tune in next week.
