- Jessica Figueroa: Hello, just for today, listeners. Well, today we are going to be talking about living an inside-out faith. What does that look like? Well, you know how people call people, lots of churchgoers the hip hypocrisy. They hate hearing about hypocrisy. We don't like hearing about hypocrisy in anything. We are not attracted to things or people that are not authentic. Are you an authentic person? That can be good or bad. You know what? Sometimes it's easier to be around someone who's authentically just rude with terrible manners than someone who's pretending not to be rude, but they're really underhandedly rude. This is that feeling when someone's not living an inside out life. So an inside out life means who you are on the inside is displayed on the outside. You want to constantly be working in your life to bridge those two things together. Now, naturally, there's going to be a part of you that maybe passes gas in the car and you're going to hold it in in public. Maybe you don't. I don't know. So there's naturally a part of us that we have to put on a little show because that's just manners and etiquette and being social and falling into customs. That's okay. What's not okay is when we start to hide who we are so much that our inside no longer matches our outside. We want our insides to match our outside. If you're finding yourself doing things in secret that nobody knows about, that's a problem. Your your family, your inner circle, the people that you can trust and you've known and you know that your secrets are safe with them, they should know your deepest, darkest secrets. Maybe you can't even trust your family with some of your deepest, darkest secrets. Maybe it has to be a professional counselor who's Held to a standard of secrecy on your behalf. That's okay. But there should not be parts of your life that nobody else knows about you. We want to learn to live an inside-out life. And through this inside-out life, we begin to get a glimpse of what the process of transformation is like, what sanctification is through trying to make our insides match our outsides and the outsides match the insides. Sometimes the first step Is allowing the ugly out a little bit. You know, maybe you have an anger or a temper problem and maybe you hide it. Well, what if you stopped hiding it and you let that anger and temper out a little bit? I used to tell my daughters that I hated it when they would pinch. I was like, pinching's so sneaky. If you really feel the need that you want to cause physical harm to your sisters, go ahead and hit her. Because at least through hitting her, we can work on it and we can work on your emotions. But pinching where no one sees it and you're trying to hide it, you're trying to be someone you're not. You're trying to per be perceived as someone who wouldn't hurt somebody, but in reality, you want to. So let's live inside out lives and let Jesus do the work of making our insides match our outsides. And we're gonna do that, guys, just for today. And I'll see you tomorrow.
