- Kelsey Dunbar: Not long ago, Mark and I had a conversation that led us to something we started calling the transformation gap. That space between knowing something needs to change in your life and actually being able to make that change happen. That conversation turned into an idea. An idea that has grown into the Transformation Gap Summit. So today, Mark and I are going to take you behind the idea, why we believe this matters, what we're building, and what you can expect closer to the summit. That's what we're talking about today on Rebuild and Fulfill. Yeah, forget that. This isn't that. This isn't gonna be a typical episode of Rebuild and Fulfill, and that's kind of the point. Because what we're doing around the Transformation Gap Summit is going to be a little different too. Marc Rogola: All right. So. Kelsey Dunbar: Over the next few weeks, you're gonna start seeing some new faces around here. You're gonna hear different perspectives and meet some of the people who are going to be a part of the TTGS, which by the way, you're gonna hear us say a lot over the next few weeks. That's our shorthand for the Transformation Gap Summit. And these conversations are going to be brief by design. Marc Rogola: Thank Kelsey Dunbar: We're not looking for an hour-long deep dive. We're gonna give you a chance to meet these people, hear why they wanted to be a part of this movement. Understand what the transformation gap means to them and get just enough of a taste Marc Rogola: Thank Kelsey Dunbar: that you will know who you want to hear more from when the summit arrives. We're talking like ten, fifteen, maybe twenty minutes. Mark? Yeah, I'm looking. Marc Rogola: Why you looking at me like that for? Kelsey Dunbar: I I don't know. I I don't know. I don't know why I think you talk a lot or something. I don't know. So Marc Rogola: Thank Kelsey Dunbar: so we're actually gonna start with that right now. So today Mark and I just want to talk about where this idea came from and why we believe it matters and what we hope it can become. And maybe most importantly, who we hope it reaches. And we're gonna attempt to do all of that without this becoming a 60-minute episode. All right, here we go. So Mark. When we first started talking about this idea of a transformation gap, what made you think that there was really something there? Marc Rogola: you Well, as you know, I do a lot of work in the field and have a lot of conversations with a lot of people all day, all night. And it just seems like every conversation that I have, whether the intention was not to even talk about this, leads to change. People feel they're stuck in a certain area of life. They're struggling in a certain area of life and I guess they're familiar with my story and some of the some of the adversity that I overcame. So they just feel that, you know, they feel comfortable talking to me about it. And it just seems like everybody just has an area that they just want to improve on in life. And it just seems to me that if we can get this out there and get the education out there and get these different speakers out there, it's it's in one platform. It's gonna help a lot of people, not just the people that I'm talking to on an individual basis, but people that we help nationally and internationally, quite frankly. Kelsey Dunbar: Yeah. Yeah. We've both spent a lot of years around people trying to change their lives and we've both had plenty of things we've tried to change about ourselves. Most of the time, people aren't completely clueless about what they should be doing. They know they should exercise. They know they should eat differently. You know, we say this all the time, right? They know they should leave the bad situation, make the phone call, get help, set the boundary, whatever it is. But knowing isn't the same thing as actually changing. And that's where the idea of the transformation gap really started getting interesting. So, Mark, why do you think knowing what to do isn't enough? Marc Rogola: I just think it's a head game, Kelsey. I think that there's self doubt there a lot of times, doubt that they can make the changes and stick to them to improve a certain area in their life. But I also think it's fear of change. And we've talked about this on a number of other podcasts as well. mean, change is scary for a lot of people. It was scary for me. So to hear again, these different speakers talk about all this stuff, I think is going to be very educational for the general public. Kelsey Dunbar: Yeah, for sure. So the the next question that I have is basically the the why for the summit. And and I think that's where this started becoming bigger for us because once you accept that there's really a gap between knowing and becoming, the next question becomes how do we help people close that gap? And that's a pretty big question. Certainly not one that Mark and I are going to sit here and pretend we have every answer to. And actually That's one of the reasons TTGS started making so much sense. So, Mark, why do you think it was important for us to bring other voices into this conversation? Marc Rogola: Thank you. has changed look different for everybody. You know, I mean, I'm gonna just use my personal situation as an example. I told you before that I was on a quest for knowledge and had a number of people give me guidance and assistance, but I didn't listen to just one person and do everything that that one person told me to do. I took an idea from one from a video that I watched. I took an idea from somebody that was coaching me on the side. I took an idea from somebody that was in sobriety and recovery and I kind of like mixed and matched it and made it my own my own routine. You know, so I think the more diversity we have as far as speakers and the more ideas that are being shared with the general public is going to give the same concept, if you will, to the people that are participating in the summit. But instead of having to spend hours doing all the research online and watching all these videos like I did, it's going to be on one platform for them to benefit from. Kelsey Dunbar: Yeah, absolutely. as an example, kind of go back to like a a childhood situation. You know, you you talk to your parents about something and your your parents give you a suggestion and you just blow off, but then you hear one of your best friends give the same exact advice and they're like, my God, that's amazing. So so sometimes people with a slightly different perspective or just hit you at a different time, it just has so much of a bigger effect. Not to mention that these people that we're bringing on have education in so many different ways than what we do. And certainly our opinions aren't for everyone. And we are carefully going through the process to have people apply to speak for the summit, not just a given. Certain people that we've heard speak many times, I mean, we know that they're gonna bring an awesome presentation. But there are a lot of people that were actually having them do submission videos and things like that. So we are very Marc Rogola: Thank you. Kelsey Dunbar: carefully selecting the speakers that we're gonna have. And we're gonna have between 60 and 80 speakers for this summit. It's gonna be absolutely amazing. So yeah, I mean we're gonna have people talking about physical transformation, mental and emotional transformation, business and career, relationships, recovery, adversity, identity, purpose, leadership, some really exciting sh stuff, and probably some things neither one of us even thought Marc Rogola: Thank Kelsey Dunbar: about yet. Because somebody can be incredibly successful in one part of the Marc Rogola: Thank Kelsey Dunbar: life and still be staring across a massive transformation gap somewhere else. And the thing that helps one person cross that gap may do absolutely nothing for someone else. That's why I don't think there's going to be just one answer at the Transformation Gap Summit. There are going to be a whole lot of answers. Maybe you'll hear 10 people talk about the same thing, and the 11th one says something in a way you never heard before, and you go, Makes perfect sense. And that's the moment that we're looking for. We're not pretending somebody's going to completely transform their entire life just by watching a summit, but maybe something finally clicks. Maybe they finally see their next step. And sometimes that's the exact moment where transformation starts. And that actually brings us back to something that we mentioned in the beginning. Because we're not asking you to wait until the Transformation Gap Summit to start hearing from these people. Over the next few weeks, we're going to start bringing in some of the summit speakers right here onto rebuild and fulfill. But they aren't going to be traditional rebuild and fulfill episodes. We're calling them the gap. They'll have their own look, their own thumbnail style, and when you see one, you'll immediately know this is a TTGS conversation. And like we said earlier, they're going to be brief. Still with me? Alright, good. because the goal isn't to tell somebody's entire life story in 15 minutes. We want you to meet them. Maybe hear a little about who they are, find out about why they wanted to become a part of the TTGS, Marc Rogola: you Kelsey Dunbar: and hear what the transformation gap means through their lens. We want you to discover people. You might hear one of these conversations with somebody you've never heard of before, and then 10 minutes later think, okay, I really need to hear that person's summit talk. That's what these episodes are going to be for. They're an opportunity to start meeting the people behind the summit before the summit even begins. So Mark, when we're sitting down with these speakers, what are you most interested in hearing from them? Marc Rogola: I want to know what self doubt that they were dealing with. And I also want to know if they had a fear of change and how they overcame that to become the professional that they are in that one particular category, whether it's health and wellness or business transformation or. mindset coaches or what have you. I think that that's gonna be very important because I think that's gonna resonate with the audience because that's where they're at right now. Kelsey Dunbar: I'm kind of laughing here because I don't know why I would have expected you to have said anything else, but the answer surprised me just because probably not the angle that most people would be looking at, but from you it's perfect because that's what you're all about is your lived life experience and that's where your advice comes from. So of course you'd be looking for that in other people. And and I didn't even give that a thought. So that's that's awesome. And that's the whole thing, is everyone's gonna come in. Expecting something else, looking for something else, getting something else. It's gonna be an amazing six-day summit. I just I I can't wait. So there's one thing I want to hit on before we wrap this up because we've talked about why we're doing it, we've talked about the speakers, we've talked about the Marc Rogola: Thank you. Kelsey Dunbar: gap episodes, but none of that really matters unless we're clear about who we're doing this for. Marc Rogola: Thank Kelsey Dunbar: So Mark, who do you hope finds the Transformation Gap Summit? Marc Rogola: Anybody that feels that they're stuck in a certain area of life, Kelsey, again, going back to the original question that you asked me, mean, every single conversation that I have, there is one area in life that people are looking to improve on. You know, I mean, it could be habits, it could be mindset. It could be just want to get healthy and lose some weight. Maybe they're stuck at work and they're afraid to make a change at work, a career change. Maybe they want to pursue a dream of theirs. but there's a fear to pursue that dream and take that leap and take that chance. All the above. I think with the different speakers that we're talking about bringing on to the end of the summit, I think it's going to address all of that. And it's applicable to just about everybody that's probably listening today. Kelsey Dunbar: Yeah. For me, I'm really looking forward to that person that says, I know how to lose weight, or I I know how to do better in business, or I know how to make better decisions and how I should cut certain relationships out of my life. I I know all this stuff, but I just can't seem to do it. Because that's what this is for. It's not it's not so much to educate people on what they need to do. It's educating them on how they're actually going to do it, how they're gonna implement it. They know something needs to change and they've probably tried before, and maybe they started then stopped, but maybe they're great in five areas of their life, like you said, and they're struggling like hell in the sixth. You know, they know exactly where they want to go, but they can't figure out why they keep ending up in the same place. And that's the gap. And if you're listening right now and some part of that sounds familiar, I really hope you'll stick with us through these next few weeks, meet these speakers, listen to their perspectives. Marc Rogola: I'm not sure if the word. I'm not sure the word. I'm I'm not that's the word. not if sure Kelsey Dunbar: Pay attention to the ones that really resonate with you and don't ignore the ones that make you feel a little uncomfortable either. Because sometimes the most important voice is the one that makes you stop and say, I never thought about it that way before. Because maybe that's where your gap starts getting just a little bit smaller. And that's probably a good place to start. Let's see, how do we do? We're just about 15 minutes. Not bad. Yeah, we made it. Marc Rogola: We did actually very well. Kelsey Dunbar: Alright, so we're gonna end it there. we'll be back with our regular rebuild and fulfill conversations, but you're also gonna start seeing the gap appearing right alongside of them, different conversations, different voices, different perspectives, and leading all up to the Transformation Gap Summit. And if one of those voices connects with you, remember their name, write it down. Because when the summit arrives, you'll actually know who you want to hear more from. So until next time, keep rebuilding, keep moving forward, and we'll see you on the next episode of. the Transformation Gap Summit. Take care.
