Any who there are two different ways within law enforcement that

that DNA is tested. OK, One is called oh man, I'm

If I remember single tan simple tandem repeats STR and the other

So there's STR and there's snap. OK, I can't remember which one

two different ways to test for DNA, OK.

One of them is a one to one match this when we hear CODIS,

for example, CODIS is a database that the that the FBI manages

that is available to all law enforcement where they take

samples and they do an analysis on it and they they look at very

specific parts of the genome. So to me that means that it's

And then they basically look at very specific places.

I think right now they're up to 20 different locations within

the genome that they look at. It started at 16.

It might be more than that. It's been a while since I've

looked. But it will look for those

So it's, it is STR that that they do on, on CODIS.

And then basically it creates a way to compare 1 to one person

to person. That is the standard way that

they test for DNA. And that's why they're going

around getting cheek swabs because they're like, hey, we've

got this database, but you're not in our database and we think

that you are rather interesting. Let we either want to rule you

in or rule you out. Will you submit to a cheek swab?

And they're going and doing that.

And then they will, they will test those, they will run the

STR analysis, they will map out those different loci and then or

loci, however you say that. And then, then they will 1 to 1

compare and see if that person matches the any of the DNA

samples that they have from the crime scene, if they have them.

OK, the other way to do it is through what we now refer to as

genetic genealogy, right? So instead of looking for those

which are basically they're parts of our DNA that tend to,

generationally, right? And, and they tend to be passed

to see, OK, this person is sixth cousin four times removed of

So it appears what they're doing right now is step one, which is

So to me, this is terrific news because it means they have DNA,
