'I will not be intimidated' Mamdani fires back at Trump threats
Throughout the campaign, President Trump, a native New Yorker, actively opposed Mamdani, calling him a "communist" and a "Jew hater" on social media and in interviews. Most notably, Trump repeatedly threatened to "limit federal funds" to New York City if Mamdani were elected mayor, arguing that sending money to a "communist" would be a waste. He also suggested he might deploy federal troops.
