Shunka Warak'in: Rocky Mountain Hyena Dogman?
The Shunka Warak’in is a canine cryptid that is said to live in the mountains and plains of Montana and the surrounding areas. It is a beast resembling a wolf and a hyena. This creature has been blamed for livestock deaths and described in early settler journals. The Shunka Warakin’s description overlaps with werewolf lore, and in one case, a strange carcass killed in the 1880s was mounted and displayed in a museum. Some believe it’s a cryptid or prehistoric survivor, while others link it to shapeshifter myths from the Crow and Lakota tribes.
Could this creature be what eyewitnesses describe…
