• 2:59
SPEAKER_08: Well, you're here for what's sure to be the most riveting conversation I've ever had in my life.
• 3:06
  SPEAKER_08: Because Urban Legend.
• 3:13
SPEAKER_04: And for the first time, we're doing a movie that I had never seen before.
• 3:18
  SPEAKER_04: That popped my fairy.
• 3:20
SPEAKER_08: And that's exactly why I was so excited about this because there are so many movies that you've harassed me to do episodes on for this that I haven't seen.
• 3:29
SPEAKER_08: Harass! And so the second I heard that you hadn't seen one that is popular, I was like, done.
• 3:39
SPEAKER_08: All of your suggestions, I'm crumpling them up, I'm swallowing them, and I'm shitting them out.
• 3:44
SPEAKER_08: This one is on the calendar.
• 3:48
  SPEAKER_04: Here I am.
• 3:49
  SPEAKER_04: I listen, I don't I don't know.
• 3:52
SPEAKER_04: You and I are both huge diehard scream fans.
• 3:56
SPEAKER_04: The things that came out, those like post like post-Scream, late 90s, early 2000s slashers, some of them I do, I I do like and enjoy.
• 4:05
SPEAKER_04: Others, I was like, they just look so cheesy and they want to be screamed so much.
• 4:09
SPEAKER_04: I was like, I'm too cool for that.
• 4:10
SPEAKER_04: And I just never watched them.
• 4:12
SPEAKER_04: This was one of them.
• 4:13
SPEAKER_04: Um I I just never got around to it until tonight.
• 4:18
  SPEAKER_08: Here I am.
• 4:18
SPEAKER_08: And Urban Legend, I was watching this.
• 4:21
SPEAKER_08: This was only the second time I've seen it.
• 4:23
SPEAKER_04: Have you only seen it once before?
• 4:24
  SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
• 4:25
SPEAKER_08: It was not at all like I remember it.
• 4:27
SPEAKER_08: And uh this time I was watching it and I was like, camp.
• 4:31
  SPEAKER_08: This is camp.
• 4:32
  SPEAKER_04: It is.
• 4:32
  SPEAKER_04: It's actually campier than I expected.
• 4:34
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I agree.
• 4:36
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, and I have actually a little timeline that I wrote down here just for reference throughout this episode.
• 4:41
  SPEAKER_08: Scream 1996.
• 4:43
SPEAKER_08: I know what you did last summer, 1997.
• 4:46
  SPEAKER_08: Scream 2, 1997, Urban Legend, 1998.
• 4:51
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it was it was boom, boom, boom, boom.
• 4:54
  SPEAKER_08: And uh Scream 3 2000.
• 4:56
  SPEAKER_04: I I would love to know.
• 4:58
SPEAKER_04: Maybe you have the information, maybe you don't.
• 5:00
SPEAKER_04: I would love to know when exactly it was written.
• 5:04
SPEAKER_04: It probably was a pretty quick turnaround because they wanted to hop on the scream train, but yeah.
• 5:09
SPEAKER_04: Um now is this is this a dimension movie?
• 5:15
SPEAKER_04: Same as same as uh Screamers or no?
• 5:18
SPEAKER_08: No, I it was the horse in the clouds.
• 5:21
SPEAKER_08: Oh, um where did you watch this?
• 5:24
SPEAKER_04: I watched it on it on Prime.
• 5:26
SPEAKER_04: I mean I I rented it, but oh see, good for you.
• 5:30
SPEAKER_04: I was gonna listen, I was gonna actually buy the Blu-ray and just figure I'd just purchase it because I should have it.
• 5:35
SPEAKER_04: I should just buy it.
• 5:36
  SPEAKER_08: Should you?
• 5:37
  SPEAKER_04: Right?
• 5:37
SPEAKER_08: I watched it on an app called Pluto TV because it was free with commercials.
• 5:43
SPEAKER_04: I did see that, yeah.
• 5:44
SPEAKER_08: Don't even get me started.
• 5:46
SPEAKER_08: Uh just like sometimes the commercials wouldn't play, and when I'd click a button, the whole movie would start over, and then I would try and find my place again.
• 5:53
SPEAKER_08: And like controls are so fickle.
• 5:56
  SPEAKER_08: I was so mad.
• 5:57
  SPEAKER_04: Listen to me.
• 5:58
SPEAKER_04: Not every app with that comes free with ads can be Tubi.
• 6:01
SPEAKER_04: Tubi is the queen, and the rest of y'all can take a seat.
• 6:05
SPEAKER_08: How much does Tubi pay you?
• 6:07
  SPEAKER_08: How much?
• 6:08
  SPEAKER_04: I wish they did.
• 6:10
  SPEAKER_04: That's my baby.
• 6:11
SPEAKER_04: Don't tell Shudder, but that's my baby.
• 6:13
  SPEAKER_08: I know.
• 6:13
SPEAKER_08: You're always texting me and you're like, it's probably on Tubi.
• 6:17
SPEAKER_08: Let me go see what's on Tubi.
• 6:18
SPEAKER_08: Hey, you should watch this on Tubi.
• 6:19
SPEAKER_08: And I'm like, shut up about Tubi.
• 6:21
SPEAKER_04: But weirdly, weirdly, I never tweet about it much, and I should, because I probably could get become their their sponsor girl.
• 6:29
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 6:29
  SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
• 6:29
SPEAKER_04: So maybe I'll start doing that.
• 6:31
SPEAKER_08: And I have watched things on Tubi and the the commercials are placed much better.
• 6:37
SPEAKER_08: They're like literal, like commercial they clearly don't watch the movie when they put the commercials on the movie.
• 6:43
  SPEAKER_04: No.
• 6:43
SPEAKER_08: And there were commercials that just came up like in the middle of a sentence, yeah.
• 6:48
  SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
• 6:48
SPEAKER_08: And I was like, what?
• 6:50
  SPEAKER_04: So I love, I live, I love.
• 6:53
SPEAKER_04: Listen, before we get in the depth of Miss Urban Legend, I just some things came out this week in our little horror community bubble.
• 7:06
  SPEAKER_04: I won't say specifics.
• 7:07
SPEAKER_04: I'm sure if you're heavily involved on Twitter, you probably know what what happened, but but I just want to say that smaller podcasts, smaller quote unquote bloggers, all this stuff, which I I used to be a blogger and like three people read it.
• 7:24
  SPEAKER_04: So I get it.
• 7:25
SPEAKER_04: Um I just you guys, and I say you guys, I mean you Parker and whoever else listening that you guys work so hard.
• 7:34
SPEAKER_04: And you know, you're not getting paid for this.
• 7:37
SPEAKER_04: Your your your patr lovely Patreons are donating.
• 7:41
  SPEAKER_04: It's that's all your it's all your it's a labor of love, right?
• 7:45
SPEAKER_04: And I I I know like I see how hard you work and you know, to the point where like you've actually had to no, you've had to like limit yourself because it was too much with school and stuff, and and that, you know, because you this is this is take so much of your time and you love this so much.
• 7:59
SPEAKER_04: And I just I I just I want to I want to just appreciate you and everyone else who wants to start their own blog or podcast or whatever outlet or site.
• 8:10
SPEAKER_04: Um and recognize that like if you love horror, you have a passion for it, don't let anyone, especially quote unquote more established podcasts or networks or whatever the fuck, don't let anyone bully you into thinking that you don't belong here or that you don't that you can't do it, or you know, please, like I I want to hear your stuff, I want to read your stuff.
• 8:34
SPEAKER_04: So like honest to God, like if you're if you're quote unquote smart, are you blessing yourself?
• 8:40
SPEAKER_08: No, I just put a little tear in my eye.
• 8:44
SPEAKER_08: I was putting a tear in my eye.
• 8:46
SPEAKER_04: I know, I just want to say, like, I I since like if you're listening and you want to start your own thing, like please do, and please like send it to me.
• 8:52
SPEAKER_04: I don't I I just I I I please encourage you to not let anyone make you feel like you don't belong in this little horror community that we belong that we we're in, and that like I I really I appreciate you.
• 9:04
SPEAKER_04: I appreciate how hard everyone works, and I'm fortunate enough where I I I get to get paid for most of my stuff.
• 9:09
SPEAKER_04: Not everyone does, and that's I really admire that.
• 9:12
SPEAKER_04: And I just I just want to say thank you for all that you guys do.
• 9:15
SPEAKER_04: You and Parker and everyone listening who just doing their own thing, and I love it.
• 9:20
SPEAKER_04: Well, way to brag in the middle of that, but uh No, no, I'm saying like it's you know, you're you're doing this for essentially nothing, like most people are.
• 9:29
SPEAKER_04: It's it's a labor of love, and and you you should be appreciated for that.
• 9:33
SPEAKER_08: That's that's yeah, and it's true, it's true because uh, you know, Julianne and I would have never met had it not been for this podcast.
• 9:45
SPEAKER_08: And there's so many wonderful people that I've met through uh, you know, trying to be part of the horror community as well, and so many cool things that we've gotten to do.
• 9:56
SPEAKER_08: And um, yeah, it is special and it's sad when people aren't always as nice as you.
• 10:02
SPEAKER_08: And um, oh, what a heartwarming moment.
• 10:06
SPEAKER_08: Everyone go start a podcast.
• 10:07
  SPEAKER_04: Please, a blog, whatever.
• 10:09
SPEAKER_04: I I want to hear it, I want to read it.
• 10:11
  SPEAKER_04: I you belong here.
• 10:12
SPEAKER_04: Don't let anyone make you feel like you don't.
• 10:14
SPEAKER_08: Even a good fucking Twitter thread.
• 10:16
SPEAKER_08: If you can craft a good thread, I love it.
• 10:19
SPEAKER_04: You're an artist, you're a sculptor, whatever you do that it that you connects to you to the genre, please just do it.
• 10:24
SPEAKER_04: Don't let anyone make you feel like you you can't do it.
• 10:26
SPEAKER_04: So that's all I wanted to say this evening.
• 10:29
  SPEAKER_08: Okay, we're done.
• 10:30
  SPEAKER_04: Bye.
• 10:30
  SPEAKER_04: We're live.
• 10:30
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, speaking speaking of art.
• 10:35
  SPEAKER_08: Urban legend.
• 10:36
SPEAKER_04: Urban legend, a work of art, urban legend.
• 10:39
SPEAKER_08: Work of uh dare I say cinema?
• 10:44
  SPEAKER_08: Well, maybe like I said, it's from 1998, and I watch a lot of 90s horror.
• 10:53
SPEAKER_08: Like you said, I'm a big Scream fan, and I like I like 90s horror.
• 10:57
SPEAKER_08: This looks see, I don't want when Ian's gone, I don't want to replace him, but this movie just like didn't look good.
• 11:06
  SPEAKER_04: It does, you know.
• 11:07
SPEAKER_04: I I actually wrote in my notes, especially during a scene that comes kind of towards the end, but the quote unquote fish eye lens that was very popular in like 90s music videos, that's so prevalent here.
• 11:20
SPEAKER_04: And it's not not quite as much, like it's not in your face, but the scene with I only I don't know any characters' names, but the guy who's kind of like the douchebag and is uh is holding the frat party.
• 11:30
  SPEAKER_08: Parker.
• 11:30
  SPEAKER_04: Oh, that's right.
• 11:31
  SPEAKER_04: He's that's the guy, that's Parker.
• 11:33
  SPEAKER_04: It was me.
• 11:34
  SPEAKER_04: It's you on screen.
• 11:36
SPEAKER_04: Um when he's hosting the party, you know, did you hear me?
• 11:40
SPEAKER_04: Host when he's hosting the party, and like the way that they shoot it, like he he's he's a tall guy.
• 11:48
SPEAKER_04: They're they're placing it up up to his headbook on an angle, and it's in his face as he's watching the dog, or yeah, it was a dog right in the mic.
• 11:57
SPEAKER_08: And I was like, And even when he's like running through the hallways, I was like I was like, what what would possess is this a music?
• 12:03
SPEAKER_04: Is this a smash mouth music video?
• 12:06
  SPEAKER_08: I wish.
• 12:08
SPEAKER_04: But yes, I do like this movie.
• 12:09
SPEAKER_04: I did, I did have fun with it.
• 12:11
SPEAKER_08: Hey, hey, hey, we don't need to, we don't need to go that far yet.
• 12:14
SPEAKER_04: Well, there's there's some choices, we'll get into it.
• 12:16
  SPEAKER_08: They're there choices indeed.
• 12:19
SPEAKER_08: And you know who was making some of those choices?
• 12:22
  SPEAKER_08: Director Jamie Blanks.
• 12:25
SPEAKER_08: Jamie Blanks also directed another early thousands.
• 12:30
SPEAKER_08: Well, this is late 90s, but he directed a popular early thousands slasher, Valentine, which I have not seen.
• 12:38
  SPEAKER_04: Whispers, I haven't seen it yet.
• 12:39
SPEAKER_04: That's one of the movies I also haven't seen.
• 12:41
SPEAKER_04: It's this one, Valentine, and something else that I have never seen.
• 12:47
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I don't, I'm not sure, but yeah, yeah, I hear Valentine's actually pretty solid too, but I've never watched that either.
• 12:53
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I don't think I've heard good things about really.
• 12:56
  SPEAKER_04: I thought I I heard people say it's okay.
• 12:57
  SPEAKER_04: I don't again, this early 2000s slasher movies.
• 13:01
SPEAKER_04: I was kind of like, eh, and I kind of skipped a lot.
• 13:03
SPEAKER_08: So in addition to Valentine, Jamie Blanks is also an editor and a composer on many other films.
• 13:10
SPEAKER_08: Not on Valentine, but on other films.
• 13:12
SPEAKER_08: So I thought, what a renaissance man.
• 13:14
SPEAKER_08: And I was tickled to discover that Blanks had originally wanted to direct I Know What You Did Last Summer, so much so that apparently he directed like a mock trailer for it, but the uh producers gave him the script for Urban Legend instead.
• 13:30
  SPEAKER_04: Right.
• 13:31
SPEAKER_04: Um yeah, I I who I uh remind me who directed I Know What You Did Last Summer?
• 13:38
  SPEAKER_04: I forget.
• 13:41
SPEAKER_08: Urban Legend was also written by Silvio Horda, who is the creator of Ugly Betty, incredible show, and was an openly gay man.
• 13:49
SPEAKER_08: And I was actually really sad when I looked this up.
• 13:52
SPEAKER_08: He committed suicide in January of 2020.
• 13:56
SPEAKER_08: Remember Yeah, his family released a statement saying he had ongoing struggles with depression and addiction, but they also said some nice things about how he was a beautiful person.
• 14:06
SPEAKER_03: So I was very sad.
• 14:07
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 14:08
SPEAKER_08: And then I wanted to give a little shout to the composer Christopher Young because as soon as that little opening title thing came on, and it sounded kind of like a um, to me, it sounded like a cross between the Philip Glass Candyman score and like a nightmare before Christmas.
• 14:24
  SPEAKER_08: I loved it.
• 14:26
SPEAKER_08: Uh, and he also composed the score for Hellraiser.
• 14:47
SPEAKER_08: And then you'll be pleased to know, Julianne, that there's also one of those rock albums released with this movie.
• 14:54
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 14:56
  SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
• 14:56
SPEAKER_08: There's an Urban Legend album.
• 14:59
SPEAKER_08: Has a Rob Zombie song on it.
• 15:01
SPEAKER_04: Oh, was that was that was that a part of the New Metal soundtrack that I that soundtracks that I that I love in the early late 90s?
• 15:08
  SPEAKER_04: No.
• 15:09
  SPEAKER_04: I don't think so.
• 15:10
SPEAKER_08: Well, I don't know what new metal is.
• 15:13
SPEAKER_08: You've over my head with that.
• 15:16
SPEAKER_04: So Urban Legends stars Alicia Witt as Natalie.
• 15:20
SPEAKER_04: She's appeared in a lot of television, including a little tiny series called The Exorcist, and she's the bitchy woman going after Sandra Bullock's man in two weeks' notice from 2002.
• 15:31
  SPEAKER_08: Iconic movie.
• 15:33
  SPEAKER_04: Is it?
• 15:34
  SPEAKER_04: Is it though?
• 15:35
SPEAKER_04: You don't love that movie?
• 15:37
SPEAKER_04: I haven't seen it in so long.
• 15:38
SPEAKER_08: Um do you remember when she was when Sandra Bullock was gonna shit her pants and she had to run down the highway to that RV?
• 15:45
SPEAKER_04: Bridesmaids may have done it better.
• 15:48
SPEAKER_08: Do you remember when Alicia Witt and Sandra Bullock are playing tennis and she hits her with the tennis ball?
• 15:54
SPEAKER_08: Do you remember when Alicia Witt says she's with she's with Hugh Grant in the hotel room and she's like, Do you want to play a game?
• 16:01
  SPEAKER_08: And he goes, Pokemon?
• 16:03
  SPEAKER_08: She goes, strip chess.
• 16:06
  SPEAKER_04: Oh my cringe.
• 16:13
SPEAKER_04: And man, what an iconic performance that is.
• 16:19
  SPEAKER_04: I didn't write this.
• 16:20
SPEAKER_04: This is Parker writes this socket.
• 16:22
SPEAKER_04: Infamous asshole who starred in Requiem for Dream from 2000, American Psycho from 2000, Panic Room from 2002, Suicide Squad from 2016, and won an Oscar for playing a trans person in Dallas Buyers Club from 2013.
• 16:40
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's that's an interesting thing.
• 16:41
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, um, no comment.
• 16:43
SPEAKER_04: Okay, he's starring in the upcoming spooky Marvel film Morbius.
• 16:48
SPEAKER_08: You don't think uh Jared Leto, he's supposed to suck.
• 16:52
SPEAKER_04: He just as a human being, he sucks.
• 16:54
SPEAKER_04: You know, I actually just saw his band live about 10 years ago.
• 16:58
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, his um 30 seconds to Mars.
• 17:00
  SPEAKER_04: And he's actually he's got a good voice.
• 17:02
SPEAKER_04: I mean, I give him that, but yeah, he's pretty, he's got a good voice, but he's a douchebag.
• 17:06
  SPEAKER_04: We all know that.
• 17:07
  SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
• 17:08
SPEAKER_04: Um, and it stars Miss Rebecca Gahart as Brenda, obviously, sister.
• 17:15
  SPEAKER_04: Is it Sister Lewis?
• 17:17
  SPEAKER_08: I think it's Lois.
• 17:18
  SPEAKER_04: Lois, I forget.
• 17:19
SPEAKER_04: Lois Lane from Screen 2 from 97 and Jawbreaker, one of my favorite movies ever from 1998 or I think I I think '98, I think it is, but whatever.
• 17:29
  SPEAKER_07: Sorry.
• 17:30
  SPEAKER_04: Damn it, Parker.
• 17:33
SPEAKER_04: I believe Parker says she's confirmed to return to the upcoming reboot of Urban Legend from Colin Minahan.
• 17:42
SPEAKER_04: Oh, the director from What Keeps You Alive and the Gay Horror Spiral.
• 17:45
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, those are those are two solid movies.
• 17:48
  SPEAKER_04: Um, yeah.
• 17:49
  SPEAKER_08: That's cool.
• 17:49
  SPEAKER_08: That's yeah, I agree too.
• 17:51
SPEAKER_08: And also the idea of Urban Legend is so cool.
• 17:55
SPEAKER_08: So, like, I hope that someone does um does justice like something cool.
• 18:01
SPEAKER_04: There's some things it could be approved upon, I think, in every reboot.
• 18:04
  SPEAKER_04: I agree.
• 18:05
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
• 18:05
SPEAKER_04: Um, Michael Rosenbaum as Parker, as you.
• 18:10
  SPEAKER_08: I know.
• 18:11
SPEAKER_08: He did a great impersonation of me.
• 18:15
SPEAKER_04: Straight, you know, straight gay, rat boy, yeah, rat boy, party guy.
• 18:20
SPEAKER_04: Joshua Jackson as Damon with his platinum blonde locks, Tara Reed as Sasha, Loretta Devine as Officer Reese, um, horror icons, including Robert Englin as Professor Wexler, Daniel Harris, which I didn't know she was in this as she's the goth girl, Julian Richings as the janitor, and Brad Doroff, which I also didn't know that was in this, as the gas station attendant.
• 18:45
SPEAKER_08: And can you believe he actually is not credited in the credits for this movie?
• 18:50
  SPEAKER_08: Like, why wouldn't you?
• 18:52
SPEAKER_04: I maybe it was because as a surprise.
• 18:54
  SPEAKER_04: I I don't know.
• 18:55
SPEAKER_04: But yeah, I was like, oh my god, shit, that's Brad Doroff.
• 18:57
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I was pleasant surprise.
• 18:59
  SPEAKER_08: Silly.
• 18:59
SPEAKER_08: Uh also I have a question for you about Rebecca Gayhart in this movie.
• 19:04
SPEAKER_08: Have you ever met a person named Brenda?
• 19:08
SPEAKER_04: Um, yes, yes, but someone not someone like my age.
• 19:12
SPEAKER_04: It was like someone like my like my mom's age.
• 19:14
SPEAKER_08: Like, I'm shocked because, and no offense to any Brendas listening, but I feel like Brenda is a name that's made up for books and movies.
• 19:23
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it it's kind of like a middle-aged mom kind of soccer mom kind of name.
• 19:28
  SPEAKER_04: I feel like it's it's it's like it's like it's like a Karen, right?
• 19:30
  SPEAKER_08: I'm gonna name a cat Brenda.
• 19:32
  SPEAKER_04: Brenda.
• 19:32
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's a good name.
• 19:35
SPEAKER_08: Uh so obviously, after, well, perhaps not obviously, because I didn't even know about this, so I don't know why I said obviously, but two sequels followed Urban Legend, Urban Legend Final Cut from 2000, and Urban Legend Bloody Mary from 2005.
• 19:50
SPEAKER_08: Julianne and I were just doing a little deep diving on Twitter and have discovered that people love Final Cut.
• 19:57
SPEAKER_08: So uh we'll have to cover that in the future.
• 20:01
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 20:01
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I uh it's kind of a cult favorite, and you know, as someone who hadn't seen any of them, um, it's about some film students, so I think that's why it kind of hits a little bit different with people, but yeah.
• 20:12
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, and it's interesting that Urban Legend, you know, we talk about the like 90s uh meta horror.
• 20:19
SPEAKER_08: And Urban Legend, this one is like a very specific niche of that.
• 20:26
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I so I did write down a few things I had noticed.
• 20:30
SPEAKER_04: I one thing was towards the end of it, uh I can think of right now when um Alicia Witt is sprawled out, like um how um, oh my god, how Annie is sprawled out after in Halloween after Michael Myers puts her on the bed and after he kills her.
• 20:46
SPEAKER_04: She's sprawled out the same way, like how he has her on the bed in um in whatever house that was.
• 20:52
SPEAKER_04: And then something else I noticed too.
• 20:54
SPEAKER_04: I did I did appreciate the little um black exploitation movie playing in the background of the cot.
• 21:00
  SPEAKER_04: That was pretty cool.
• 21:00
SPEAKER_08: Um well it's I mean it's interesting in that the movies of this time, like the ones that we just referenced, like obviously Scream, but also I know what you did last summer.
• 21:10
SPEAKER_08: Like they're like actually like saying things about other horror movies.
• 21:14
SPEAKER_08: So this one's weird because there is definitely a lot of like visual references to horror, yeah.
• 21:20
SPEAKER_08: But also like it's like the concept of Scream, right?
• 21:26
SPEAKER_08: But not with movies, and so it's weird, it's almost like I I was thinking about this.
• 21:32
SPEAKER_08: I was like, this is definitely considered like a 90s meta horror, but at the same time, like the things they're being meta about are urban legends, and like so.
• 21:41
SPEAKER_08: I was like, does that even count?
• 21:42
  SPEAKER_08: I don't know, it's kind of crazy.
• 21:44
  SPEAKER_04: I mean, I think it does.
• 21:45
SPEAKER_04: There, I mean, they don't they do make a reference towards um uh Dawson's Creek just like general pop culture, like when when Josh when Joshua Jackson Turns on the card and he's like, I don't want to wait.
• 22:02
SPEAKER_04: And I was like, Oh, that's the theme song from Job.
• 22:03
SPEAKER_04: It's like ha hearty har har because he started he started in both.
• 22:06
  SPEAKER_08: And then Kevin Williamson.
• 22:09
  SPEAKER_04: Yes, that that's true.
• 22:10
SPEAKER_04: And then also, um, they they call Daniel Harris's character Alvira.
• 22:16
SPEAKER_04: Oh, Elvira's getting it on tonight.
• 22:18
SPEAKER_04: Like when she's they think she's having sex, but she's actually dying.
• 22:20
SPEAKER_04: Um I think there's but yeah, there there's some things I do agree though.
• 22:24
  SPEAKER_08: It's like it's it's in a I think it's in a weird niche.
• 22:27
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
• 22:28
SPEAKER_04: There's some jokes here and there that are kind of like pop culture references and stuff.
• 22:31
  SPEAKER_04: But yeah.
• 22:32
SPEAKER_08: Which actually, I when I was young, I loved urban legends.
• 22:37
SPEAKER_08: My sister and I would read things to each other from the internet.
• 22:41
SPEAKER_08: I had a book of urban legends that I would read, and it had a lot of the stuff they referenced.
• 22:45
SPEAKER_08: Like it had the kidney thing, yeah, it had uh the headlight flashing, it had the Achilles from under the car.
• 22:53
SPEAKER_08: Like a lot of these like were what things that I read when I was a kid.
• 22:56
SPEAKER_08: So like I like Urban Legends.
• 22:58
  SPEAKER_08: I think that's a really exciting um idea.
• 23:01
SPEAKER_04: Um, since I I just watched it for the first time like two hours ago, it is the the Bloody Mary thing is brought up, right?
• 23:09
SPEAKER_04: But it's not actually they didn't really do anything with that, though, right?
• 23:14
SPEAKER_08: I mean No, I just like the say it in front of that house.
• 23:17
  SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I can't.
• 23:18
SPEAKER_08: I didn't even know why they were saying it.
• 23:20
  SPEAKER_04: I yeah, I don't remember.
• 23:21
  SPEAKER_04: I um let's see.
• 23:22
SPEAKER_04: I so from the opening, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
• 23:26
  SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay, I'm sorry.
• 23:27
SPEAKER_08: I have a summary of this movie so that as we discuss, we can have our point of reference.
• 23:33
SPEAKER_08: So, and it's a little bit of a long one.
• 23:35
SPEAKER_08: I've been um, you know, doing some very uh choppy summaries lately because I just don't have the patience.
• 23:44
SPEAKER_08: But I thought this movie warranted it a little bit because it's a little complex.
• 23:51
  SPEAKER_08: But also not.
• 23:56
SPEAKER_08: So after a college gal is murdered, Natalie, another college gal, is distressed and begins witnessing other murders on campus that all resemble popular urban legends.
• 24:10
SPEAKER_08: A foot kicking the car roof as someone hangs above it, an instant message coming from inside the dorm room, and the person who slashes your Achilles from under your car.
• 24:21
SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah, the calls coming from inside the house, they mentioned too.
• 24:25
  SPEAKER_08: The most classic horror.
• 24:27
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it was like when a stranger calls and then they're referencing scream as well.
• 24:31
SPEAKER_04: I mean, they're like, hey, we were caught, we copied this from Scream.
• 24:34
SPEAKER_04: I mean, Jesus Christ, we get it.
• 24:36
SPEAKER_08: So this movie gets a lot of shit for copying Scream, and the whole time I was like, you know, this isn't like super screamy, but when Parker gets that phone call at the frat party, I was like, Girl, this is almost agree.
• 24:50
SPEAKER_04: Like, this is it's almost offensive that that anyway, anyway.
• 24:56
SPEAKER_08: So uh this all leads up, as we just mentioned, to a frat party celebrating the school's own urban legend, a professor who snapped and murdered a whole dorm floor of students.
• 25:09
SPEAKER_08: At that party, more people die.
• 25:11
SPEAKER_08: A dog in the microwave, a cleaner, wait, cleaner down someone's throat with a um what do you call the beer beer thing?
• 25:20
  SPEAKER_04: The funnel.
• 25:21
  SPEAKER_08: Funnel.
• 25:22
SPEAKER_08: No, there's a fun name for it.
• 25:24
  SPEAKER_04: Uh, is there?
• 25:24
  SPEAKER_04: I just call it a funnel.
• 25:26
SPEAKER_08: Uh well, whatever that thing is.
• 25:28
SPEAKER_08: Uh and a radio host murdered on the air.
• 25:32
  SPEAKER_08: Which is relatable.
• 25:36
SPEAKER_08: Natalie reveals to Paul, a writer for the school paper, that the girl who died at the beginning was her friend in high school until they accidentally killed someone pranking them with the headlight flash gang initiation thing.
• 25:49
SPEAKER_08: And in a display of serious privilege, neither were charged.
• 25:56
  SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
• 25:56
SPEAKER_08: When she said that, she was like, and they run easy on us in court.
• 26:00
SPEAKER_08: I was like, Yeah, you're like a high school white girl.
• 26:04
  SPEAKER_03: Because you white.
• 26:06
SPEAKER_08: So Paul, Natalie, and their friend Brenda flee the scene.
• 26:10
SPEAKER_08: But Natalie and Brenda find their professor's body in Paul's trunk.
• 26:14
SPEAKER_08: Natalie had to literally see a body in the trunk to be suspicious of hot Paul, but thinks that the school janitor who picks her up while she's literally screaming on the side of the street is the killer simply because he looks like he hasn't eaten a lot.
• 26:29
SPEAKER_08: So there's some classism for you, too.
• 26:33
SPEAKER_08: Anyway, Natalie makes it back to the school.
• 26:36
SPEAKER_08: She hears Brenda screaming from the uh abandoned dorm where the school massacre supposedly happened.
• 26:42
SPEAKER_08: It is revealed that Brenda is the killer in the most laughable reveal I've ever seen in my life where she just punches her in the face.
• 26:50
SPEAKER_04: It's you said it's just pure camp.
• 26:53
  SPEAKER_04: And I just, I mean, I was dying.
• 26:55
SPEAKER_04: I was dying at certain points in time.
• 26:57
SPEAKER_08: I did not so obviously, the like one thing I remembered from the first time I watched this was that of Brenda's the killer.
• 27:04
SPEAKER_08: And when she just sat up and punched her and it fade to black, I out loud said, What?
• 27:12
  SPEAKER_08: That was hilarious.
• 27:14
SPEAKER_08: Um, but we can discuss that more in a moment.
• 27:17
SPEAKER_08: Um, so Brenda's gonna cut out her kidney because the man that Natalie accidentally murdered in high school was Brenda's fiance.
• 27:26
SPEAKER_08: Natalie and a school security guard shoot Brenda out of a window, then Paul and Natalie flee.
• 27:32
SPEAKER_08: And in this class uh in this car, Natalie tells Paul that an ambulance would probably be there for the security card who is shot soon.
• 27:41
SPEAKER_08: So there's a little more classism for you.
• 27:44
SPEAKER_04: Uh Brenda probably will be there.
• 27:47
  SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I know.
• 27:47
SPEAKER_08: She was like, Yeah, yeah, ambulance is gonna get there soon, I'm sure.
• 27:50
SPEAKER_07: And I was like, What?
• 27:52
SPEAKER_08: She's dying on the floor, she just saved your life.
• 27:54
SPEAKER_08: Why don't you be nice?
• 27:56
  SPEAKER_08: Jesus.
• 27:57
SPEAKER_08: Then surprise, Brenda's in the backseat, they fight and crash, and uh Brenda flies through the windshield and into some sort of body of water.
• 28:05
SPEAKER_08: Uh then later, some college students are telling the story like it's a legend, and Brenda's there, and she says she'll tell them what really happened.
• 28:15
SPEAKER_04: I think I literally wrote dun dun dun.
• 28:18
  SPEAKER_08: I know.
• 28:20
  SPEAKER_04: It's so it's it is, it's pure camp and it's funny.
• 28:23
  SPEAKER_04: Like I've wow.
• 28:24
SPEAKER_08: Um wait, Julianne, hold your horses.
• 28:29
  SPEAKER_04: And impatient.
• 28:30
SPEAKER_08: Well, you'll have your chance soon enough.
• 28:32
SPEAKER_08: The Rotten Tomatoes critic score 22%.
• 28:36
  SPEAKER_03: Ouch.
• 28:36
  SPEAKER_08: Audience score 37%.
• 28:39
  SPEAKER_08: Ouch.
• 28:40
SPEAKER_08: Critics consensus, which I actually think this is just bad writing here.
• 28:44
SPEAKER_08: Elements of Scream reappear in a vastly inferior vehicle.
• 28:49
SPEAKER_04: It's pretty funny they gotta admit.
• 28:52
SPEAKER_08: I know, but still, it's just like, what does that even mean?
• 28:55
SPEAKER_08: Vehicle, what are they carrying?
• 28:57
  SPEAKER_08: I don't know.
• 28:58
  unknown: I don't know.
• 28:58
SPEAKER_08: Anyway, so that leads me to think with such a horrendous summary like that, Rotten Tomatoes, Julianne, why don't you give us a little bit something better?
• 29:07
  SPEAKER_08: What do you think?
• 29:08
SPEAKER_04: Uh yeah, I I think this is I think this is really fun.
• 29:12
SPEAKER_04: I I think um, like some it's funny, like the choices that we've talked about so far, like we're like, why would they film it like that?
• 29:22
SPEAKER_04: Why would they do this?
• 29:23
SPEAKER_04: Why would they do that?
• 29:24
SPEAKER_04: There are some really good moments of dialogue that I found really funny.
• 29:28
SPEAKER_04: The some of the writing's really snarky and quick, and I I did appreciate that.
• 29:32
SPEAKER_04: Um, the acting's really camping over the top, and but it fits, it fits the movie, and I think that's fine.
• 29:37
  SPEAKER_08: Um Rebecca fucking Gayhart.
• 29:40
SPEAKER_08: I was like, some of the acting, I was like, shit, but at the end, I was like, wow.
• 29:48
SPEAKER_04: I was like, good lord, that is Oscar worthy.
• 29:51
SPEAKER_08: No, and then she starts screaming and she's like, Why?
• 29:54
SPEAKER_04: Why it's like it's it's it's if but it fits, it all fits that kind of movie.
• 30:00
SPEAKER_04: Like if it were scream, we'd be like, dude, this is garbage.
• 30:03
SPEAKER_04: But this is but this is like it fits the whole cali.
• 30:06
SPEAKER_04: You know, they wanted to have fun with it, and I I I get it, I appreciate that.
• 30:10
SPEAKER_08: This is the Friday the 13th to Screams Halloween.
• 30:13
  SPEAKER_04: Exactly.
• 30:14
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I totally agree.
• 30:16
SPEAKER_04: So yeah, what do you think?
• 30:17
SPEAKER_08: You know, honestly, I don't know if I'm just mad tonight, but I was like, this movie sucks.
• 30:27
SPEAKER_08: Like Well, well, here's the thing.
• 30:29
SPEAKER_04: Here's the thing it's just not like a great movie, but it's fine.
• 30:32
SPEAKER_08: Like, you know Yeah, no, I didn't have a bad time watching it.
• 30:35
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 30:36
SPEAKER_08: Um what what there's a few things that made me mad that I was like, this could have easily been so much better.
• 30:42
  SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
• 30:42
SPEAKER_08: Um one of them is that when I watch a movie like this, like I want to be trying to put together who the killer is the whole time.
• 30:50
SPEAKER_08: And this movie makes no attempt to create a mystery for me.
• 30:53
SPEAKER_08: They don't give you any clues, they don't give you any idea of what's happening.
• 30:57
SPEAKER_08: A few times they throw out, like, oh, could be our professor, but like there's there's nothing that you can do to solve this.
• 31:02
SPEAKER_08: And I think that kind of sucks because also Brenda is not part of this movie until she is.
• 31:09
SPEAKER_04: And you when you and again, I I forgot what the twist was.
• 31:13
SPEAKER_04: I had heard about it before, and then when it's the movie started rolling, I was like, okay, I think I was like, I was like, that's right.
• 31:19
  SPEAKER_04: It's it I definitely it's met Rebecca Gayhart's character.
• 31:21
SPEAKER_04: Um, so I kind of knew it was coming, but you can tell the killer's a woman.
• 31:26
SPEAKER_04: You can tell that the body shape, I I I think so.
• 31:29
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you look closely, you can tell like the just the four, I was like, that's a woman.
• 31:33
SPEAKER_04: Like so, and that and that's cool because no one was not many people were doing that at the time.
• 31:38
SPEAKER_04: Um that's you know, that's pretty cool.
• 31:40
  SPEAKER_08: Friday the 13th.
• 31:41
SPEAKER_04: Well, well, I mean, you know, uh yeah, obviously.
• 31:44
SPEAKER_04: But I mean like it just wasn't like you figure like the year before that was Scream 2 and Miss Miss Salt, Miss Debbie Salt, aka Billy Loomis's mother, w us ladies were starting to get pissed off and knock some bodies out in the in the 90s.
• 32:02
SPEAKER_04: Not that again, not that it didn't happen before.
• 32:04
SPEAKER_04: I'm just saying it just kind of it was just it's cool.
• 32:07
SPEAKER_08: Um but yeah, I think uh I almost wish it was like a little cattier.
• 32:14
SPEAKER_04: You think it should be cattier?
• 32:15
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
• 32:16
SPEAKER_08: Like if that energy from the finale where she's being a psycho was like carried a little more throughout the rest of the movie, then this would be like jawbreaker level.
• 32:25
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, no, I agree.
• 32:25
SPEAKER_04: I think and that would be good.
• 32:26
SPEAKER_04: I and Alicia Witt is so dull.
• 32:30
SPEAKER_08: Oh my god, I couldn't stand her.
• 32:32
SPEAKER_04: And the character I was like, she's supposed to be our like our final girl protagonist.
• 32:35
  SPEAKER_04: I could give a shit.
• 32:36
SPEAKER_08: I know, and it's like I said, like just some of the stuff that she was like saying and doing, I was like, you seem like the most prissy prep girl.
• 32:44
  SPEAKER_08: I don't care.
• 32:45
  SPEAKER_04: I don't care.
• 32:45
SPEAKER_04: I I I would have honestly would rather have seen Miss Daniel Harris, the goth girl.
• 32:50
SPEAKER_04: I'd rather her see bang her brains.
• 32:52
SPEAKER_04: I was I would have rather had time banging her banging her brains out in the dark and surviving the whole thing than than her.
• 32:59
SPEAKER_08: I was a little bit thinking that that roommate situation is like me and you, where I'm Alicia Witt and you're Danielle Harris.
• 33:06
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 33:07
SPEAKER_04: Um well and also you'd be having more sex than me, though, let's be honest.
• 33:12
  SPEAKER_08: Hell yeah.
• 33:13
SPEAKER_08: Um but honestly, I was thinking, so something that frustrated me about this movie is that it seems like the movie can only handle like two characters at a time.
• 33:23
SPEAKER_08: Because Alicia Witt is the main character the whole time, and then it's like she's with Damon for a little bit, he's gone, then with Paul for a little bit, and then sometimes with Brent.
• 33:32
SPEAKER_08: It's like you can't have more than two people in a scene.
• 33:35
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, one-on-one, yeah.
• 33:37
SPEAKER_08: So I was thinking like if Alicia Witt and Rebecca Gayhart were like trying to like solve it together, or like if there were just some sort, or even um who was the radio host?
• 33:48
  SPEAKER_08: Sasha.
• 33:50
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, even if like she was in on it more, like if there was just a little bit more of like this little group of teens is gonna get together, but instead it was like just Alicia Witt the entire time.
• 34:00
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and I guess because they figure she was the one who kind of she's the motivation behind, you know, and and I which I get that, but it's like well, she's the only one that believes it.
• 34:10
SPEAKER_08: She's the the Lori Strode.
• 34:12
  SPEAKER_04: True.
• 34:12
SPEAKER_04: Um I I um so the beginning.
• 34:16
  SPEAKER_04: I think the opening's pretty cool.
• 34:18
  SPEAKER_04: I enjoyed the opening.
• 34:19
SPEAKER_04: I I that kind of was suspenseful.
• 34:21
SPEAKER_04: Um, I I think I mean I I that was actually one of the better shots in the film, I think, is when the when the camera kind of is right outside of the car and all you see is the axe just go right through.
• 34:32
SPEAKER_04: Um because they don't they honestly don't show a lot of actu actual kills, weirdly.
• 34:37
SPEAKER_08: Well, I have a fact for you.
• 34:40
SPEAKER_08: According to the documentary feature on the DVD, and I thought this sounded like trash, but according to the documentary feature on the DVD, blanks wanted to keep violence muted and off-screen because obviously this is a classy film, and so he even decided not to shoot some of the gore that was in the script.
• 35:00
SPEAKER_04: I was thinking it was gonna be for a ratings reason, but that this is still our rating, right?
• 35:05
  SPEAKER_08: Uh, I don't know.
• 35:06
SPEAKER_08: I like it was a but it was a choice that he didn't want, and I was like, what?
• 35:11
SPEAKER_08: Why that would have made it.
• 35:14
SPEAKER_08: I mean, this I didn't feel like it was missing gore, but at the same time, like more would have been fun.
• 35:21
SPEAKER_04: And they just yeah, it would have made it more fun.
• 35:23
SPEAKER_04: And like I in the way that they would shoot, like like when Tara Reed's character, like when when when the cop comes in and discovers her, like all you see is a bloody hand, and I'm like, that's all you're gonna sh like.
• 35:32
SPEAKER_04: It just it was just like you could have made this so artful and creative, and you're just gonna put the camera right there.
• 35:36
SPEAKER_04: And it's so the choice is made again.
• 35:40
  SPEAKER_04: Why?
• 35:41
SPEAKER_04: Why would you shoot it like that?
• 35:43
SPEAKER_04: It could have been so artful and and can't be artful, you know what I'm saying?
• 35:46
SPEAKER_04: Like it could have been.
• 35:47
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, well, I think a lot about um I love the death in I know what she did last summer, an incredible movie.
• 35:56
SPEAKER_08: Um, when Helen's sister Elsa dies, and they're in the shop.
• 36:02
SPEAKER_08: Elsa's backed up against a glass door, and you see her silhouette as she's slashed, and the silhouette kind of jerks, and you see like red splatter against the door, and it's like very red, like obviously fake, but it's beautiful.
• 36:17
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
• 36:19
SPEAKER_08: Like you could have done shit like that.
• 36:20
SPEAKER_08: Even like you were just saying with Sasha, he's she's like axing it, like even if there was like a blood streak that went across that big window.
• 36:28
SPEAKER_04: Like I and I and I think about like at the beginning, it's just it was a really good shot of just that the it was like the axe just goes right through the car window, and that's all you see.
• 36:36
SPEAKER_04: And I was like, that's really cool.
• 36:37
SPEAKER_08: And it just slowed, it's almost like slow motion shatter, just like well, and it said in this fact, it said that um apparently the script in that scene then said that you would see after that a cut to a head rolling across the street.
• 36:51
SPEAKER_04: Okay, which I honestly don't think we actually need.
• 36:54
SPEAKER_04: I mean, it would have been cool to see, but we didn't need that.
• 36:56
SPEAKER_04: And that I think that was actually pretty well done the way he did it.
• 36:58
SPEAKER_04: But the rest of the movie is just, I was just like, why would you shoot it like that?
• 37:01
SPEAKER_08: It just was such a weird choice of camera angles and stuff, but um, but anyway, um But that was a good chase, I thought, with that character.
• 37:09
SPEAKER_08: I thought the rest of the movie kind of lacked a lot of like horror-ness until that party.
• 37:15
SPEAKER_08: I kind of am confused about like what was even happening for the first half of the movie.
• 37:19
  SPEAKER_04: I know.
• 37:20
  SPEAKER_04: Same, same.
• 37:20
SPEAKER_08: I mean the power of really nothing.
• 37:23
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it cut, yeah, kind of just like okay, urban legends, let's let's teach, let's teach the audience what urban legend is.
• 37:28
  SPEAKER_04: Ha ha ha.
• 37:30
SPEAKER_08: And urban legends are cool.
• 37:31
SPEAKER_08: And I actually really liked what Robert Englund said about how urban legends like reflect the society that creates them.
• 37:39
SPEAKER_08: I think that's an interesting idea that they don't explain.
• 37:42
SPEAKER_04: They don't do enough with, yeah.
• 37:44
SPEAKER_04: That's what I thought I was like, wait, what is what is this for?
• 37:48
SPEAKER_04: And then like the like with the Joshua Jackson with his his kid his death, and I was just like, okay, he's a he's a clown, and obviously we know people don't you don't really love him, his character, but like, okay, he gets punched in the face by Alicia Witt.
• 38:01
SPEAKER_04: Cool, that was fun, that was like unexpected and campy.
• 38:04
SPEAKER_04: And then it's like, I almost want to see him get like bludgeon, and they just they just hang him.
• 38:09
SPEAKER_08: They just well, and I do think that like the sequence is suspenseful where she's trying to drive and he's like, but like, yeah, like it could have been there is a way, like, oh my god, can you imagine if she's trying to drive and it's like bouncing him up and down or something?
• 38:26
  SPEAKER_08: That would be hilarious.
• 38:27
SPEAKER_04: That would be so fun.
• 38:28
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's like there's so many things.
• 38:29
SPEAKER_08: I'm like, you really, if you gave it more thought, you really could have had like or even if it was like a tatum in the garage door where like every time she accelerates, it like pushes his head a little further.
• 38:39
SPEAKER_04: That would have been fun, like, but he didn't have his violence, apparently.
• 38:43
SPEAKER_04: Um but uh let's see.
• 38:45
SPEAKER_04: I mean, you gotta love Jared Letto as the aggressive journalism major.
• 38:49
SPEAKER_04: I mean, we can relate to that.
• 38:50
SPEAKER_08: That was that was and he's trying to spit some you know ethics here.
• 38:54
SPEAKER_08: You know, I'm covering this for the people who else, you know, I'm just doing my job.
• 39:01
SPEAKER_08: I'm it's my service, my duty to the public.
• 39:04
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I was like, boy, get over yourself.
• 39:07
SPEAKER_08: I I know what was the headline, like psycho on campus or something like that.
• 39:13
SPEAKER_04: And then like everyone's like, actually, sir, you're the psycho on campus.
• 39:17
  SPEAKER_04: I was like, what a lie.
• 39:19
SPEAKER_04: It just was so ridiculous.
• 39:20
SPEAKER_08: I know that paper looked really exciting.
• 39:22
SPEAKER_08: Why does everybody hate the school paper?
• 39:24
SPEAKER_04: I I I wish my school paper in college was half that interesting.
• 39:28
  SPEAKER_08: Psycho on campus.
• 39:30
SPEAKER_08: Well, he almost got a student Pulitzer for the coli in the cafeteria.
• 39:36
  SPEAKER_04: Yes, yes.
• 39:37
  SPEAKER_04: He's a I mean, he's he's probably our favorite guy, Richard Lawson.
• 39:40
SPEAKER_04: He's probably he's probably doing that right now, honestly, 20 years later.
• 39:43
  SPEAKER_04: I bet.
• 39:44
  SPEAKER_08: Yeah, he's working hard.
• 39:45
SPEAKER_08: So yeah, he's got a good good future ahead of him, even though he was fired.
• 39:49
SPEAKER_08: I don't know how that's gonna how that's gonna look on the resume.
• 39:52
SPEAKER_04: I wanted to mention, um, I just thought that was funny.
• 39:55
SPEAKER_04: So we brought up Daniel Harris as uh as the goth girl.
• 39:59
SPEAKER_04: Talk it cracked it yeah, it cracks me up that literally 10 years later, or I'm sorry, nine years later, she's in Rob Zombie's Halloween as a high school student.
• 40:11
SPEAKER_04: She was 30 years old at the time playing a high school student.
• 40:14
SPEAKER_04: So she was my age playing a high school student, and then in this movie from 10 years before college student.
• 40:20
SPEAKER_04: It's just, I mean, and grant you, she I mean, she looks young, she looks, she looked amazing, but I was just like, it's just such a I'm like, wow, like you had her play in college, and she went back to high school 10 years later.
• 40:30
SPEAKER_04: Just the irony of it, which made me laugh.
• 40:32
SPEAKER_08: But I kind of loved the that whole gag about the sex.
• 40:38
SPEAKER_08: You know, even the first time she comes in and turns on the light and they're fucking, she's just like, turn it off.
• 40:43
  SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
• 40:44
SPEAKER_08: And then and then so then the I think that death is well, not to spoil the podcast, but like pretty hilarious death.
• 40:52
SPEAKER_08: How she's like, I'm not gonna turn the light on.
• 40:54
SPEAKER_04: And she's like on the other side of the room, like and honestly, you wouldn't have heard her choking even with your headphones on.
• 41:01
  SPEAKER_04: Girl, come on.
• 41:03
  SPEAKER_08: I don't I don't blame her for that one.
• 41:05
SPEAKER_08: That's the that's the kill in the movie where I'm like, you delivered.
• 41:10
SPEAKER_04: What does it say on the wall again?
• 41:12
SPEAKER_08: Aren't you glad you didn't turn on the lights?
• 41:16
SPEAKER_08: And then the cop is like, we have no evidence of foul play.
• 41:20
SPEAKER_08: That could have been a suicide note.
• 41:21
SPEAKER_08: And I'm like, she slits her writs and she's able to stand up and write a message on the wall.
• 41:27
  SPEAKER_08: Jesus Christ.
• 41:28
SPEAKER_08: But also, I was like, you're gonna stage a suicide and write a message on the wall.
• 41:32
SPEAKER_04: These people just, I mean, the choice again, the choice is made.
• 41:37
  SPEAKER_04: Um let's see, dying.
• 41:40
SPEAKER_04: Um, okay, how do we feel how do we feel about the the look of the killer?
• 41:49
  SPEAKER_04: The fur hooded jacket.
• 41:51
  SPEAKER_04: Do we like that?
• 41:52
SPEAKER_08: Just not not present enough.
• 41:54
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, the killer is like never there.
• 41:57
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 41:58
SPEAKER_08: And then it's weird because when the Rebecca Gayhart reveals herself, she punches her and she's wearing normal clothes, and then she goes and puts on the parka.
• 42:08
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 42:08
SPEAKER_08: It's like, no, they they had that just to have a look.
• 42:13
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 42:14
SPEAKER_08: Which I mean, I guess there has to be some way to conceal someone's face if you're gonna do this mystery thing.
• 42:20
SPEAKER_08: But the it is, it is very obvious that they were just like, what's a way we can have a spooky, our own spooky killer?
• 42:26
SPEAKER_04: And I feel like they just it it's almost like not everything has to be super iconic and like you know, whatever, but it's just it's just it's so basic that I'm like, oh, maybe because they figure like she's just you know a college girl, but like she had everything else so methodically planned.
• 42:40
SPEAKER_04: Why would she have something more creative for her her ensemble, in my opinion?
• 42:44
SPEAKER_08: But yeah, and like was it is it cold where they live?
• 42:48
  SPEAKER_08: No one's wearing coats.
• 42:50
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
• 42:51
SPEAKER_04: I think one at one point they mentioned, like, oh, we're oh yeah, it was Joshua Jackson in the car.
• 42:56
SPEAKER_04: He's like, Are you cold?
• 42:57
SPEAKER_04: We can make it warmer.
• 42:59
  SPEAKER_08: Wanna borrow my parka?
• 43:01
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I want to borrow my penis.
• 43:04
SPEAKER_08: Uh that scene also made me laugh because he was just like, You need someone to take care of you.
• 43:09
SPEAKER_04: And I just like a man can do that.
• 43:11
SPEAKER_04: And I was like, Oh god.
• 43:12
SPEAKER_08: I was like, what kind of a pickup is this?
• 43:14
SPEAKER_08: Who would that work on besides me?
• 43:16
  SPEAKER_04: Because he's a clown, because he's a clown.
• 43:19
  SPEAKER_04: Um let's let's see what else.
• 43:23
SPEAKER_04: I mean, I think we kind of went over a lot of stuff already, just like I know it's like dog death, the things you can't see, the dumb 90s fish lens.
• 43:32
SPEAKER_08: I I that was also such a bizarre death.
• 43:35
SPEAKER_08: Like that seemed like a death that was in there just because they're like, we just need one more, just one more.
• 43:40
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 43:40
SPEAKER_04: And you had to kill her because, you know, and she's like a sex radio host.
• 43:44
SPEAKER_08: Like she talked No, wait, no, I like that death.
• 43:47
  SPEAKER_08: I mean Parker's.
• 43:48
  SPEAKER_04: Oh, Parker's death.
• 43:49
SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 43:50
  SPEAKER_08: Parker's death was weird.
• 43:51
SPEAKER_08: Uh no, Tara Reeds was great.
• 43:52
SPEAKER_08: Well, again, there's no reason she would kill these people.
• 43:56
SPEAKER_08: Um so like that doesn't make sense, but I thought I thought Terror Reed's death was I mean, I want some sort of chase.
• 44:04
SPEAKER_08: That's the only like really suspenseful part of this whole movie.
• 44:08
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 44:09
SPEAKER_08: Um and uh Yeah, that's really all I have written down.
• 44:15
SPEAKER_04: I yeah, I mean, I really have really much else to say.
• 44:18
SPEAKER_04: I usually I mean I was gonna kind of talk about like just and we kind of talked about it, like just like this era of slashers that just so desperately wanted to cash in on the screen phrase that like it it was all it's again, it's almost like had they they wanted to cash in on it so desperately that they just kind of wrote these movies super quickly and were just like let's get bang them out and make some money.
• 44:39
SPEAKER_04: And I get that, but like if you just had taken some more time on it, I think it would have been like a really like just like this is a good ass movie, you know what I mean?
• 44:46
SPEAKER_08: Well, that's what's weird to me is like that happens, I mean it happens a lot in horror, but I mean it happens everywhere, everybody does, you know, one movie starts a trend and everybody wants wants him, but it does seem very specific to this era of um because you know they made Scream 2 in less than a year.
• 45:07
SPEAKER_08: Like it seems very specific to this time that they're like, we're gonna make these as fast as possible.
• 45:13
  SPEAKER_08: And it shows.
• 45:15
  SPEAKER_04: It shows.
• 45:15
SPEAKER_04: I mean, it's the same thing with the 80 slasher trend too.
• 45:18
SPEAKER_04: I mean, once once they saw how much money Friday the 13th made, people they were banging 80 slashers like crazy for the for like four years straight, just like boom, boom, boom.
• 45:27
SPEAKER_04: So it's it happens, like you said, all the time, but it's just interesting how it that pattern repeated itself.
• 45:32
SPEAKER_08: But it's also interesting to me how many good 80s slashers there are and how few good scream ripoffs there are.
• 45:42
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 45:42
SPEAKER_04: Now, what would you what would you consider?
• 45:44
SPEAKER_04: I mean, obviously what will last summer is probably one of the you know the best ones, but what else would you consider?
• 45:52
SPEAKER_08: Well, yes, obviously I love I know what you did last summer.
• 45:55
SPEAKER_08: And I know what you did last summer is interesting because it's almost like like the baby between these two because they're doing they're do they're talking about urban legends and they're talking about movies, and I know what you did last summer, so that movie rules.
• 46:08
SPEAKER_08: Um, I mean, they talk, uh we I've talked on this podcast before about how like Final Destination was the bridge between Scream and Saw.
• 46:19
SPEAKER_08: And um trying to think what else.
• 46:23
  SPEAKER_08: Uh I haven't seen Valentine.
• 46:25
SPEAKER_04: That's the third, that's the one Valentine.
• 46:27
SPEAKER_04: It was this and Cherry Falls, I haven't seen yet.
• 46:29
  SPEAKER_04: Um Halloween H2O.
• 46:32
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's definitely one.
• 46:33
  SPEAKER_08: I haven't seen that.
• 46:34
  SPEAKER_04: You haven't seen H2O?
• 46:36
SPEAKER_04: You're you're not you're not super big on the Halloween franchise yet.
• 46:39
SPEAKER_08: And I was trying to do them in order and I just lost track of which ones I'd seen.
• 46:43
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I I mean you know, I love Bride of Chucky, obviously.
• 46:46
SPEAKER_04: We're doing that on the podcast eventually.
• 46:48
SPEAKER_04: So um, but but uh yeah, like I said, some of them are really good and others are just kind of like, you know, they cash grabs.
• 46:57
SPEAKER_04: But this one's kind of this is kind of in the middle, I think, for me.
• 47:00
  SPEAKER_04: I I I I enjoy it, I think it's fun, but it's not it's I don't think it's as good as it should be.
• 47:04
SPEAKER_08: You know, no, I just get frustrated when it's like I have to think about how much better it could have been while I'm watching it.
• 47:13
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, no, I I get that.
• 47:15
  SPEAKER_04: I get that.
• 47:16
SPEAKER_08: Also just make the whole thing goofy.
• 47:18
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, go for it at that point.
• 47:20
SPEAKER_04: Just make you're gonna have camp, have campy gore too.
• 47:23
  SPEAKER_04: I I totally agree.
• 47:24
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, because there's no way they watched that ending and were like, this is serious.
• 47:29
SPEAKER_08: I mean really um and like that that security guard, uh Loretta Devine, I think was her name.
• 47:38
SPEAKER_08: She her reaction shots were killing me.
• 47:41
SPEAKER_08: There were a few times where she would like walk in on something and just be like, oh, and then she's listening to the radio in her car of the woman dying, and it's literally like a second of her driving, and she's like, just like look shocked.
• 47:55
SPEAKER_04: Parker's like bugging his eyes and like making it like, yeah.
• 47:57
SPEAKER_04: Uh it's um, yeah, it's funny that like between this and H2O, they always have like this this stereotype, like the like kind of like the tropey, like black standard um security guard character.
• 48:12
SPEAKER_04: And I'm like, I guess because they they they just need a black person.
• 48:15
SPEAKER_04: It's just very like, I'm like, okay, like yeah, this is not a diverse movie.
• 48:19
  SPEAKER_04: No, at all.
• 48:20
SPEAKER_04: And LL Cool J is an H2O.
• 48:22
SPEAKER_04: He's his character is actually really fun.
• 48:24
  SPEAKER_04: He I it's actually a really good character.
• 48:26
SPEAKER_04: This is kind of like, I'm like, you could have given her a little bit more to do.
• 48:28
  SPEAKER_04: I mean, honestly.
• 48:29
SPEAKER_08: Well, that's the thing that I'm can what one of the things about the characters is it's just like, do they just try to have too many?
• 48:35
  SPEAKER_08: Like, I don't know.
• 48:37
SPEAKER_08: And and like the the comp, it's like she's she's in the whole movie doing nothing.
• 48:44
SPEAKER_04: There that and there's only like really like what there's what five friends, yeah, including Garrett Leto's characters.
• 48:50
  SPEAKER_04: I think there's five of them.
• 48:51
SPEAKER_04: It's like, yeah, it's and if you think of a cast that small, really should be more intimate where we should we should kind of get to know them a little bit more.
• 48:59
  SPEAKER_08: I don't know anyone.
• 49:00
SPEAKER_04: I I their names are like they just one got the other.
• 49:03
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, it's you know, even Rebecca Gayhart, like when she does the killer reveal, she like switches to a new accent as if it's supposed to be like we knew who the old one was, and this is shocking.
• 49:14
SPEAKER_08: And it's like, no, I have no idea.
• 49:16
SPEAKER_08: She swam, she was on a swim team, I maybe.
• 49:18
  SPEAKER_08: I don't know.
• 49:19
  SPEAKER_04: Right, right.
• 49:20
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, could more could have been.
• 49:22
  SPEAKER_04: I agree.
• 49:22
SPEAKER_04: More meat could have been added to the bones of even Jared Leto.
• 49:27
SPEAKER_08: It's like, I know he's like a bloodthirsty journalist, but like towards the end, he was like trying to be more soft boy, and it's like, but wait, like, who is he?
• 49:37
SPEAKER_08: All I know is journalist.
• 49:39
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 49:41
SPEAKER_04: I I also have to laugh too that that was like her other mini motivation was that she wanted to get to him.
• 49:46
SPEAKER_04: She's like, Oh well, you know, yeah, and I was like, what sense does that make?
• 49:52
  SPEAKER_08: I loved that drama.
• 49:54
SPEAKER_08: She walks in on them kissing, and she's just like, Wow, you move fast, and I just like it.
• 49:59
SPEAKER_08: And then they hug and she's well, oh, that was so funny because uh Natalie is like in Paul's room and she's kind of like, This is spooky, maybe he's the killer, and then they get in the car, and then uh Brenda's like, I apologize, like y'all should be together, and they're just like, oh, friends, and then they're like, but wait, suspicious again.
• 50:25
  SPEAKER_08: So what a mess.
• 50:27
SPEAKER_04: Now, okay, here's a question before we finish up.
• 50:31
SPEAKER_04: Do we like Miss Gayhart?
• 50:33
SPEAKER_04: Jawbreaker is my that's the queen, so we're we're not gonna count her.
• 50:37
SPEAKER_04: But do we prefer her in Scream 2 or in Urban Legend?
• 50:41
  SPEAKER_08: I mean, Scream 2, like she's in two seconds, she's hilarious.
• 50:46
  SPEAKER_04: She's hilarious, though, right?
• 50:47
SPEAKER_04: She kind of seals the show, yeah.
• 50:48
SPEAKER_08: Um her and Portia De Rossi.
• 50:50
SPEAKER_08: They have a really couple of really good lines in that movie that are so funny.
• 50:55
SPEAKER_04: I mean, I um I I would have loved to like we we just all we get to know from her in the beginning is that she's she transferred and that she likes urban legend stuff.
• 51:04
  SPEAKER_04: It's so shocking.
• 51:06
SPEAKER_04: She's the killer because she likes urban legends stuff.
• 51:07
SPEAKER_04: Woo! But she's awesome in that she's awesomely campy in that last scene, but like yeah, I think that last scene is a real winner.
• 51:16
SPEAKER_04: It just makes it like I think it makes it makes up for it.
• 51:20
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
• 51:21
SPEAKER_08: And we'll have to watch the sequel.
• 51:22
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we'll do Final Cut.
• 51:25
  SPEAKER_08: All right.
• 51:25
  SPEAKER_08: You know what, Julianne?
• 51:27
SPEAKER_08: I don't want to talk about this for another second.
• 51:29
SPEAKER_08: So we have to, but um, what would you say from Urban Legend is your most memorable murder?
• 51:38
SPEAKER_04: Uh, you know, I I have to say, I think the opening of whoever the girl driving, I that I thought that was I thought that was cool because I I didn't know what was going on, I didn't know what was happening.
• 51:48
SPEAKER_04: The rest of the movie, I think it's just kind of like the kills could have been a lot better for me.
• 51:53
SPEAKER_04: So I I just liked how artful I was like, oh, this is a good start.
• 51:56
SPEAKER_04: I was like, oh, it's just like a clean swipe through the window and boom, and you don't it it's it was just cool.
• 52:00
SPEAKER_04: I I it kind of made me like give me chills.
• 52:03
SPEAKER_04: Nothing else really did it for me in that way.
• 52:05
SPEAKER_08: So when they did the violent kills, it was almost even jarring, like when the dean gets pressed into the spikes.
• 52:12
  SPEAKER_08: I was like, whoa.
• 52:13
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
• 52:14
SPEAKER_04: And it just didn't feel like they went far like it, they didn't go far enough, I felt like sometimes they picked and choose, and so it felt weird.
• 52:22
  SPEAKER_04: It wasn't consistent, yeah.
• 52:23
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, um, I think I would pick uh Tosh the Goth Girl.
• 52:28
SPEAKER_08: I thought that was hilarious.
• 52:29
SPEAKER_08: Okay, but a close second would be Tara Reed.
• 52:32
  SPEAKER_08: I thought I I love it.
• 52:33
  SPEAKER_08: I love the chase.
• 52:34
  SPEAKER_03: Love good chase.
• 52:35
SPEAKER_08: Love good chase on a scary scale, one to five.
• 52:39
SPEAKER_08: How would you rank Urban Legend?
• 52:41
  SPEAKER_08: I mean she's a gateway girl.
• 52:44
SPEAKER_04: I mean, what, 1.52, something like that.
• 52:48
  SPEAKER_04: It's I mean it's it's it's fun.
• 52:50
SPEAKER_08: I wouldn't say it's scary, but yeah, I think this is uh well, I was gonna say I think this is a good gateway movie for people who are like nervous about horror to be like, hey, it can be fun.
• 53:00
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, but also like I don't know, maybe this one's a little too too silly, a little too boring.
• 53:05
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
• 53:06
SPEAKER_04: I mean, I I mean we love slashers, so like you know, it it for me it I I think slashers are always kind of a little bit scary just because I'm like that that could be around the corner.
• 53:16
SPEAKER_04: This guy, this guy or gal could be chasing me down the street, and I you know, it could happen anywhere.
• 53:21
SPEAKER_08: So but well, and I think some movies like Scream.
• 53:25
SPEAKER_08: Sometimes I watch Scream and I'm like, this is upsetting and disturbing, and I feel sad.
• 53:28
SPEAKER_08: And so like if somebody's like nervous about watching horror and you want to show them a good slasher, I wouldn't start with Scream and something like Urban Legend.
• 53:37
  SPEAKER_03: Sure.
• 53:38
SPEAKER_08: Would you give Urban Legend a smash or a slash?
• 53:43
  SPEAKER_04: Uh I'll give it a smash.
• 53:45
  SPEAKER_04: I don't think it's perfect, obviously.
• 53:48
  SPEAKER_04: But I do think it's I think it's fun.
• 53:50
SPEAKER_04: I think it's fun, it's a fun movie to put on, I think, with friends and just like hang out and laugh.
• 53:54
  SPEAKER_04: And sure.
• 53:55
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's all it's meant for.
• 53:57
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I'll give it probably the lightest smash I've ever given anything in my life.
• 54:00
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 54:01
SPEAKER_08: Uh like honestly, I'll watch it again.
• 54:04
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 54:04
  SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
• 54:05
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 54:05
SPEAKER_08: I won't, I I probably won't pick it, but if somebody wants to watch it, I'd be like, yeah, put it on.
• 54:10
  SPEAKER_03: Why not?
• 54:10
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 54:12
SPEAKER_08: Um, and so now I have a couple of questions for you actually.
• 54:18
  SPEAKER_03: Go on.
• 54:18
SPEAKER_08: And I should have sent you a screenshot of this, but I will in a moment.
• 54:23
SPEAKER_08: So, your favorite scary movie of all time, this is the same um question I've given you before.
• 54:28
SPEAKER_08: Your favorite scary movie of all time is Rosemary's Baby.
• 54:32
SPEAKER_08: If Rosemary's Baby and Urban Legend, one of them was going to be struck down by a divine force and would never have existed.
• 54:44
  SPEAKER_08: Which one?
• 54:46
  SPEAKER_04: Really?
• 54:46
SPEAKER_04: Are we are we honestly asked about?
• 54:49
  SPEAKER_04: I mean, girl, U L, Ur Miss Urban's gotta go.
• 54:54
  SPEAKER_08: Um listener.
• 54:58
SPEAKER_08: We are quickly approaching the finale of season three of what's your favorite scary movie?
• 55:05
SPEAKER_08: And this is Unforge, the last episode of season three that will feature our dearest, dearest Julianne.
• 55:17
SPEAKER_08: And so, Julianne, I need to know of the movies we have covered on season three of What's Your Favorite Scary Movie?
• 55:27
SPEAKER_08: I need you to pick the one to rule them all.
• 55:32
SPEAKER_08: Oh, what is your favorite scary movie?
• 55:38
SPEAKER_04: Damn, we did some good ones.
• 55:40
SPEAKER_04: Uh, I probably will go with Orphan and maybe Pet Cemetery as a very close second.
• 55:46
SPEAKER_08: Wow, Orphan over Pet Cemetery.
• 55:49
  SPEAKER_08: I'm a little shocked by that.
• 55:50
SPEAKER_08: All right, so we have the truth, and the truth is Julianne's favorite scary movie is Orphan.
• 56:00
  SPEAKER_04: Not ever, but yeah.
• 56:02
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 56:03
  SPEAKER_08: Ever.
• 56:05
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
• 56:06
SPEAKER_08: And I'm going to stick.
• 56:08
SPEAKER_08: Oh, I didn't send you what we've done on do you want to see what we've done on Patreon?
• 56:12

• 56:33
SPEAKER_04: And someone else recommended that too as well.
• 56:35
SPEAKER_08: Um yes, that was a patron request.
• 56:37
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I probably would go with that.
• 56:40
SPEAKER_04: The rest of them are are fine.
• 56:43
SPEAKER_08: Okay, get off my podcast, Julianne.
• 56:46
SPEAKER_08: Uh I'm sticking with The Strangers Prey at Night because that movie goes off.
• 56:51
  unknown: Okay.
• 56:52
SPEAKER_08: Uh well, what are you doing this summer?
• 56:55
SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna try to go out and back into the world again, waxed and vaxxed, as they say.
• 57:00
  SPEAKER_08: Vaccine queen.
• 57:02
  SPEAKER_04: Vaccine queen, yeah.
• 57:03
SPEAKER_04: And um go maybe do some drive-ins and meet other human beings again.
• 57:08
  SPEAKER_04: That would be cool.
• 57:09
SPEAKER_08: So what movie are you looking forward to most this year?
• 57:12
SPEAKER_04: Most this rest of the year.
• 57:14
  SPEAKER_04: Uh oh god.
• 57:15
  SPEAKER_04: Probably honestly, probably Candyman.
• 57:17
  SPEAKER_03: Probably Candyman.
• 57:18
  SPEAKER_04: I'm very curious.
• 57:19
SPEAKER_04: I I mean I'm I'm interested in Halloween kills, but I'm not like super soaked about it.
• 57:24
SPEAKER_04: Um and last night in Soho sounds really fun.
• 57:28
SPEAKER_04: I'm looking forward to that.
• 57:29
SPEAKER_04: But I think uh I think Candyman might really be, I'm very curious about it.
• 57:34
  SPEAKER_04: So yeah.
• 57:35
SPEAKER_08: Well, you heard it here first.
• 57:37
SPEAKER_08: Julianne wishes the conjuring three, the devil made me do it, would never come out.
• 57:41
SPEAKER_08: She wish it had never been made.
• 57:45
  SPEAKER_04: I never said such a thing.
• 57:46
  SPEAKER_04: I'm just you're you're a bigger stan than I am.
• 57:49
  SPEAKER_04: I'm a stan of the conjuring.
• 57:51
  SPEAKER_04: You're like a really big stan.
• 57:53
  SPEAKER_08: I'm so excited.

• 58:11
SPEAKER_08: So you will actually not hear my beautiful melodic voice in your brain until on the main feed, until Monday, May 17th, when we cover Spiral from the Book of Saw.
• 58:29
  SPEAKER_08: Yes.
• 58:31
SPEAKER_08: We have been waiting for absolute years for this movie.
• 58:36
SPEAKER_08: And actually, I was being dramatic, but that's true.
• 58:39
  SPEAKER_04: A year.
• 58:40
  SPEAKER_04: I a year, if let's go.
• 58:42
SPEAKER_08: A year, but you know, they announced it before it.
• 58:43
SPEAKER_08: I would say plural is appropriate.

  SPEAKER_04: Sure.
• 58:48
SPEAKER_08: Uh, but if you miss me so much and you don't want to wait until May 17th to hear me, I understand, first of all, because I miss myself sometimes.

• 59:38
  SPEAKER_08: Yes, what a journey.
• 59:39
  SPEAKER_08: We'll have to do a little reflecting, a little self-um reflection.
• 59:47
  SPEAKER_08: That's what that is, isn't it?
• 59:50
