SPEAKER_00: Right back at you.
3:27
SPEAKER_01: You're one big piece of joy.
3:30
SPEAKER_00: Now, do you want to know a fun fact about the the film that we are watching today?
3:35
SPEAKER_01: Yes.
3:36
SPEAKER_03: I hate that you just did that for this particular film.
3:39
SPEAKER_03: Ate a piece of joy.
3:40
SPEAKER_03: Parker is picking up some sort of food scraps and stuffing it into his face with his fingers.
3:49
SPEAKER_00: Well, it's because this delectable film that we are discussing today, I actually thought when we first started this podcast, I thought, you know what?
4:00
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
4:01
SPEAKER_00: I thought I will never see the day when I will be able to watch Terrifier with Caroline and Ian.
4:08
SPEAKER_00: It's too horrible, it's too ridiculous, it's too disgusting.
4:11
SPEAKER_00: I don't think I'll ever be able to get them to watch it.
4:14
SPEAKER_03: We graduated!
4:15
SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh! Exactly.
4:17
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so welcome to the final episode of What's Your Favorite Scary Movie?
4:22
SPEAKER_00: No jokes.
4:25
SPEAKER_00: We would never, but we're indeed watching Terrifier today, and I can see through the internet right now, Caroline and Ian terrified.
4:37
SPEAKER_03: There was some cringing happening.
4:39
SPEAKER_01: I mean Yeah, hit hit a home.
4:42
SPEAKER_01: Hit, you know, too close to home.
4:44
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Ian's a certified clown, so really hit close to home.
4:48
SPEAKER_00: Is that true?
4:50
SPEAKER_03: No, no, but the entire movie I was thinking Ian would have a knack for this.
4:56
SPEAKER_01: Well, I you know, I sometimes do that smile.
4:59
SPEAKER_01: Oh god.
5:00
SPEAKER_00: You know, yeah, and you have the same dental hygiene as Art the Clown.
5:06
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, some would say worse.
5:10
SPEAKER_01: Just depends how much wine I drank.
5:13
SPEAKER_00: Terrifier.
5:15
SPEAKER_00: It started working the film fests in 2016, but had a limited theatrical release and dropped on Netflix in 2018, and that's when it really blew up.
5:27
SPEAKER_00: That's when I watched it.
5:28
SPEAKER_00: It developed quite a cult following and became kind of like an instant classic.
5:34
SPEAKER_00: Um it was written, directed, and the special effects makeup were done by Damien Leone.
5:43
SPEAKER_00: Wow.
5:44
SPEAKER_00: Talented man.
5:45
SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
5:46
SPEAKER_00: He has twice as much special effects makeup credits, in fact, on his IMDB than he does writing directing credits.
5:53
SPEAKER_00: And I was watching an interview with him and he was discussing how uh makeup has always been his passion, and he wanted to make something to really showcase that and shock people because he knew that he would be able to really uh make something incredible with not a lot of money since he was so skilled at special effects.
6:15
SPEAKER_01: Nailed it.
6:17
SPEAKER_03: I know.
6:17
SPEAKER_03: Well, okay, to be fair, I looked up the budget of this movie.
6:21
SPEAKER_03: How much?
6:22
SPEAKER_03: I didn't.
6:23
SPEAKER_03: A hundred thousand dollars.
6:25
SPEAKER_03: Wow.
6:26
SPEAKER_01: One hundred.
6:27
SPEAKER_03: Isn't that crazy?
6:28
SPEAKER_03: And then the whole rest of the movie, I was thinking, like, dang, they really did a lot for that.
6:33
SPEAKER_03: I mean, it's basically like a studio with a few lights.
6:35
SPEAKER_03: But that's the makeup himself.
6:38
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
6:39
SPEAKER_01: I mean$100,000.
6:41
SPEAKER_00: I'm not about to say that this is like the most beautiful movie I've ever seen, but like, if they can make that for$100,000, like, what's stopping you, listener, from chasing your dreams?
6:54
SPEAKER_00: Go do it.
6:56
SPEAKER_03: Or join our Patreon and maybe we'll make a movie.
7:01
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
7:01
SPEAKER_00: Maybe we're one patron away from a hundred thousand dollars.
7:09
SPEAKER_00: Anyway, so uh Damien Luna actually debuted Art the Clown in tw in a couple of short films that he put into his 2013 anthology called All Hallows Eve, which was his uh feature directing debut.
7:27
SPEAKER_00: And after All Hallows Eve, he started an Indiegogo campaign to create a feature-length terrifier film.
7:35
SPEAKER_00: Damien Leone is returning as the writer and director for the upcoming Terrifier 2, which was announced um a little while ago, and they actually recently put out a trailer.
7:52
SPEAKER_00: Uh, I was per honestly expecting that they would surprise drop it this year for Halloween.
7:58
SPEAKER_00: It does not appear they're going to do that.
8:00
SPEAKER_00: I think that they were stopped uh at the end of production by uh the pandemic.
8:06
SPEAKER_00: So fingers crossed for 2021.
8:09
SPEAKER_03: In this movie, we have David Howard Thornton as Art the Clown.
8:15
SPEAKER_03: He will be returning for Terrifier 2.
8:18
SPEAKER_03: Um, and I actually also looked him up during this movie just to get a little background because the physical theater.
8:28
SPEAKER_03: Amazing.
8:29
SPEAKER_03: Art.
8:30
SPEAKER_03: Pure art.
8:31
SPEAKER_00: Are you not gonna give us any of the background?
8:35
SPEAKER_03: Oh no, he's from Huntsville, Alabama, and has done like not a lot other than Dr.
8:40
SPEAKER_03: Seuss on Broadway.
8:42
SPEAKER_03: Wow, he was he was grandpa, he was or no, national tour, first national tour um of the Grinch, and he was grandpa who on the national tour.
8:53
SPEAKER_01: So he's like creepy role through and through.
8:57
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I mean he has he has very interesting mannerisms.
9:00
SPEAKER_03: I was just really appreciating them the entire time.
9:03
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and honestly, I don't think there would be a terrifier too without him.
9:08
SPEAKER_03: Okay, we also have uh Jenna Cannell as Tara Hayes.
9:14
SPEAKER_03: Um, she was in The Bye Bye Man in 2017, Samantha Scaffidi as Victoria Hayes.
9:21
SPEAKER_03: She was in a horror film called Demon Hole from 2017 about fracking.
9:36
SPEAKER_01: Is fracking a euphemism euphemism?
9:39
SPEAKER_00: I don't think so.
9:43
SPEAKER_00: No, I know, but uh scary movie about fracking.
9:49
SPEAKER_00: I usually try and only put in credits that would be like largely recognizable, but I saw that and was just absolutely tickled pink, so I had to include it.
10:00
SPEAKER_03: Okay, put that on the Patreon list because I want to see this.
10:05
SPEAKER_03: But quite honestly, off-rack is horror-worthy.
10:09
SPEAKER_03: So um, but okay, Samantha will be returning for Terrifier 2 as well.
10:16
SPEAKER_03: And we have Catherine Corcoran as Dawn, as well as Puya Moseni as Did you call her a cat lady?
10:27
SPEAKER_03: She is not a cat lady, she was a baby doll lady.
10:30
SPEAKER_00: That's what she is billed as.
10:31
SPEAKER_00: She is billed as cat lady.
10:34
SPEAKER_03: Okay, I have to say something about her.
10:36
SPEAKER_03: Because she was a very beautiful, clean looking lady who lived in this building.
10:44
SPEAKER_01: I was just Are you saying all crazy people have to be?
10:47
SPEAKER_03: I mean, they I don't it just it was a choice that they made not to like dirty her up more, you know?
10:55
SPEAKER_00: I'm going to kick off right now a hot take on this podcast episode before we even get done with the facts here.
11:03
SPEAKER_00: My hot take is that the most emotional character arc in this entire movie is Emily.
11:11
SPEAKER_00: The doll.
11:14
SPEAKER_00: I felt invested in Emily's well-being.
11:18
SPEAKER_01: That makes one of us.
11:21
SPEAKER_01: Alright.
11:22
SPEAKER_00: I get no respect here.
11:24
SPEAKER_03: We'll come back to that.
11:25
SPEAKER_03: We'll we'll come back to that, Parker.
11:29
SPEAKER_01: IMDB summary reads: quote, on Halloween night, Tara Hayes finds herself at the obsession of a sadistic murderer known as Art the Clown.
11:42
SPEAKER_01: The Rotten Tomatoes average critic rating is six point two out of ten.
11:50
SPEAKER_01: The average audience rating is six point four out of ten.
11:55
SPEAKER_01: And the critic's consensus is there's there's no frickin' consensus.
12:00
SPEAKER_03: What come to one?
12:03
SPEAKER_00: Well, I know, yeah, they failed at that round table that they had for terrifier, but that just means that we have to pick up the slack.
12:11
SPEAKER_00: Ian, go, give me your critics' consensus of terrifier.
12:16
SPEAKER_01: Critics consensus of terrifier.
12:20
SPEAKER_01: A horror film that on the front end will leave you scared at night with bumps along your arms.
12:32
SPEAKER_01: But on the back end is some C-level acting and a budget to show for it.
12:42
SPEAKER_01: Hey.
12:43
SPEAKER_01: But a scrappy production team.
12:48
SPEAKER_03: Cheers to that.
12:49
SPEAKER_03: Snap, snap, snaps.
12:50
SPEAKER_00: Ian.
12:51
SPEAKER_00: I didn't know that Critics Consensus had turned into like um like poetry lounge, like, um I'm glad you consider my my words poetry.
13:03
SPEAKER_00: It will it was very uh spoken word.
13:05
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly.
13:06
SPEAKER_00: It was very like I almost just took a nap right now.
13:08
SPEAKER_00: I felt like I was listening to the calm app.
13:12
SPEAKER_01: Well, I uh Ian's voice does that.
13:15
SPEAKER_01: I do offer subscription services and they're called Patreon.
13:18
SPEAKER_01: So if you would like to join our Patreon, find us Patreon.com forward slash scary movie pod.
13:25
SPEAKER_00: Uh Caroline, let's hear yours.
13:28
SPEAKER_03: There were some jump scares, some thrills, a little bit of that haunted house element with the maze through the building.
13:40
SPEAKER_03: Um really took me for a turn at the beginning.
13:43
SPEAKER_03: I was like, oh, this movie is about sexual harassment.
13:46
SPEAKER_03: And then, you know, he is an equal opportunity killer.
13:52
SPEAKER_03: Again, another emotional journey with Emily, um, with the mother, and also with Art the Clown.
14:01
SPEAKER_03: That's all I want to say.
14:03
SPEAKER_00: Beautiful.
14:03
SPEAKER_00: I would have to say for myself, I think that, like Ian said, the production here, absolutely incredible for the means.
14:12
SPEAKER_00: I think the effects, the uh physical, the uh practical effects are absolutely delicious, gushing, oozing.
14:22
SPEAKER_00: I want to reach and dig my fingers into all of those like smashed heads and things.
14:29
SPEAKER_00: I think that the actual story, bare bones indeed, a little mean for my taste.
14:36
SPEAKER_00: I think that Damien Leone from the um interviews that I watched seems like a cool guy.
14:42
SPEAKER_00: Seems like seems like a nice guy.
14:44
SPEAKER_00: But at the same time, just some of the stuff that happens in this movie is a little bit sick, and I don't know if I feel very good about it.
14:54
SPEAKER_00: I mentioned last week that the first time I watched this, I had to take breaks.
14:58
SPEAKER_00: I had to take breaks again this time.
14:59
SPEAKER_00: I was like, I feel sad and a little violated by some of the things I'm seeing right now.
15:05
SPEAKER_00: I just need to go take a little walk, a little lap around the apartment.
15:10
SPEAKER_00: Um, and then my last thought is that very little lap.
15:15
SPEAKER_00: My last uh thought is that Art the Clown, he is incredible.
15:19
SPEAKER_00: David Howard Thornton, absolute chef's kiss.
15:23
SPEAKER_00: I can hardly even look at him in this movie without feeling absolutely disgusted, absolutely terrified when he is in that pizza parlor doing his little like smile and like hand gestures.
15:35
SPEAKER_00: It's disgusting.
15:38
SPEAKER_03: That honestly, okay, hot take.
15:41
SPEAKER_03: That pizza parlor is the scariest part of this movie.
15:44
SPEAKER_03: You give me guts and blood gushing, but I cannot deal with that man in that pizza parlor.
15:50
SPEAKER_01: Just staring.
15:53
SPEAKER_01: But you agree, the it minus him and minus the sister of the girl everyone else really sucked at Tara's sister that comes in.
16:07
SPEAKER_03: The final girl.
16:08
SPEAKER_03: The final girl.
16:09
SPEAKER_00: Um, I mean, I think just taking in the whole movie as a whole, a demon hole.
16:18
SPEAKER_00: Um I just it didn't bother me.
16:21
SPEAKER_00: The whole thing, like you said, I think scrappy's a great word for it.
16:25
SPEAKER_00: The whole thing, I was watching and I was like, I am proud of this.
16:28
SPEAKER_00: I'm proud of this team, this movie, everyone involved.
16:32
SPEAKER_00: Kudos.
16:33
SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
16:35
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they I mean, just because they're not they didn't kill it with the acting doesn't mean it it wasn't still impressive.
16:43
SPEAKER_03: Okay, I think there's a fine line here though.
16:45
SPEAKER_03: Sometimes I feel like myself included, we all jump to oh, that's bad acting, but I think the director has a lot to do with it.
16:54
SPEAKER_03: I think the production value has a lot to do with it.
16:57
SPEAKER_03: I think just like the quality of the the actual filming has a lot to do with it too.
17:04
SPEAKER_00: I would agree with that.
17:05
SPEAKER_01: I would have to politefully disagree.
17:07
SPEAKER_01: I mean, I think those would have impacts, but I think it's very easy to tell someone that's got it from someone that's not.
17:19
SPEAKER_01: And mainly the tell is do you do you feel like they're acting?
17:23
SPEAKER_01: And if they're acting, then it's like Okay.
17:26
SPEAKER_03: Well, I can I can name a lot of A-list celebrities that are still pretty bad at acting.
17:32
SPEAKER_01: Name one.
17:34
SPEAKER_03: The girl in I hate her.
17:38
SPEAKER_01: What are you talking about?
17:39
SPEAKER_01: She's great.
17:39
SPEAKER_03: Oh, she's not!
17:40
SPEAKER_00: We need to end this converse.
17:42
SPEAKER_00: This discussion is over.
17:43
SPEAKER_00: You can go watch Ian's acting masterclass at masterclass.com.
17:48
SPEAKER_00: And we are on.
17:52
SPEAKER_00: Um what I wanted to ask next was we see on display here, because Art the Clown, we see him in his full getup, and that I would assume is his everyday attire.
18:03
SPEAKER_00: But we see two Halloween costumes here: one a Skellington, and one a Scarecrow.
18:11
SPEAKER_00: Thoughts on those costumes?
18:13
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, uh well, I was gonna say Don basically gets unstuffed.
18:19
SPEAKER_01: Oh it's true.
18:21
SPEAKER_01: Most memorable murder of all time.
18:23
SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
18:24
SPEAKER_00: That's well, what I wanted to say about these costumes is you know, usually I would look at a costume like Tara's and think, come on, put in some effort.
18:34
SPEAKER_00: You ordered that from Hot Topic.
18:36
SPEAKER_00: It had those little leggings and that dress, and you just gave up on it from there.
18:42
SPEAKER_00: But that scarecrow costume, absolutely hideous.
18:46
SPEAKER_00: I thought that Tara looked like a million bucks next to that scarecrow.
18:50
SPEAKER_00: Dawn is beautiful, I think she looks great, but that costume, that little hat, tragedy.
18:55
SPEAKER_00: No.
18:56
SPEAKER_01: Agreed.
18:56
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
18:57
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
18:58
SPEAKER_00: Okay, so let's get into the killing.
19:00
SPEAKER_03: Oh, you weren't taking that to any metaphor or anything?
19:03
SPEAKER_03: No, I just wanted to- You're just discussing costume.
19:05
SPEAKER_00: I love Halloween, I love costumes, and I just wanted to talk about them for a second.
19:10
SPEAKER_00: Alright.
19:11
SPEAKER_00: So let's get into it.
19:12
SPEAKER_00: I actually had totally forgotten about this little like talk show prologue and epilogue that is in this movie.
19:21
SPEAKER_00: I just didn't even comprehend when I started watching.
19:24
SPEAKER_00: I was like, Well, did I click the wrong movie?
19:26
SPEAKER_00: So we start out already with a violent killing.
19:30
SPEAKER_00: Let's hear your thoughts.
19:32
SPEAKER_00: Death number one, talk show host.
19:35
SPEAKER_03: One, Karma.
19:37
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, what a bitch.
19:39
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, she was pretty rude.
19:40
SPEAKER_03: Victoria's been through a lot.
19:44
SPEAKER_03: And while at multiple points in the movie, I was trying to figure out who that woman at the beginning was who killed the talk show host.
19:52
SPEAKER_03: I get it.
19:54
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
19:55
SPEAKER_00: I was going to say that what I like about this beginning part is that it does make you think the whole movie, who is that going to be?
20:03
SPEAKER_00: And obviously at the beginning, you think that it's going to be Tara because the way that Tara's introduced is very final girl-esque.
20:11
SPEAKER_00: But I think that it is very intentional then, like what you were saying earlier, that Tara looks very similar to Emily's mother, the cat lady, and that they both also look very similar to Victoria.
20:23
SPEAKER_00: Like that could have been a family.
20:24
SPEAKER_00: Uh, you know, they could share genes.
20:27
SPEAKER_00: Do you think?
20:27
SPEAKER_00: And so they really fooled you, fooled me too.
20:30
SPEAKER_01: Do you think when they get attacked, they get like messed up or like they get s under a spell or something?
20:39
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, okay, so uh what do you think Art the Clown is or happened, or like happened?
20:48
SPEAKER_03: I think we'll find out in the second one.
20:50
SPEAKER_00: Well he is clearly insane.
20:54
SPEAKER_00: Um I think that he's But he there's some immortal thing happening.
21:00
SPEAKER_01: He's not real.
21:01
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean I think that there's definitely something supernatural about him because you know nobody else would be able to live through that.
21:10
SPEAKER_00: But I think that I would think he is mostly human.
21:14
SPEAKER_00: Um just because of the way he interacts.
21:18
SPEAKER_00: Uh I mean he doesn't take a terrible amount of damage throughout the movie until like nothing that I would say is lethal until the very end when he shoots himself.
21:31
SPEAKER_00: And there's no way that somebody would I mean you could potentially like miss and live through some sort of gun-in-the-mouth situation, but not the way that he does.
21:42
SPEAKER_00: You wouldn't be sitting up in the morgue and back on your killing spree.
21:46
SPEAKER_00: So there is something supernatural about him, but I do think he's real.
21:50
SPEAKER_00: I think that he is human in some way.
21:53
SPEAKER_01: I think we'll learn in the second one about why he is the way he is.
21:59
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
22:00
SPEAKER_00: We'll learn more about him, but I think we will perhaps have more information about what he is, like you were just asking.
22:07
SPEAKER_00: I think he'll always be a mysterious figure.
22:09
SPEAKER_00: I don't think we'll ever get a backstory or an origin story.
22:13
SPEAKER_01: Why I say that is I feel like they made one scene allude to allude to it, which um is obviously when he was holding the baby and then he got the touch of a mother.
22:31
SPEAKER_03: Do you think he was just acting or do you think he really did have Well we don't know what happened right after that because the next time that we see the cat lady, she's just in shambles.
22:43
SPEAKER_01: I know, but I'm wondering if like this is speculation, but he hears the noise and he snaps out of it and then he goes crazy.
22:53
SPEAKER_01: You know?
22:54
SPEAKER_01: Or was he acting to get her close to then attacker?
22:58
SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, I think that trying to make sense of anything that art does in this movie is a um fool's errand.
23:09
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
23:10
SPEAKER_00: Uh a a trail with no end, because I don't think I don't think there is sense to be made of Art the Clown.
23:17
SPEAKER_00: I think he is absolutely insane.
23:19
SPEAKER_00: And maybe that leads me to have confidence in your sanity, Ian, because I think the only person who might be able to understand Art the Clown is someone of a of an equal mental state.
23:33
SPEAKER_03: Question What did Art the Clown do in the bathroom?
23:37
SPEAKER_03: Because I'm still trying to wrap my head around that.
23:40
SPEAKER_00: He flung his poop everywhere.
23:42
SPEAKER_00: Oh, that was poop?
23:43
SPEAKER_00: That was poop.
23:44
SPEAKER_00: He wrote his name on the wall.
23:45
SPEAKER_00: It looked red feces.
23:47
SPEAKER_03: Oh, I thought there was blood in it.
23:49
SPEAKER_01: What a little fuck.
23:50
SPEAKER_00: Well, we're not here to judge his diet.
23:53
SPEAKER_00: I'm assuming that his diet is slightly different than our own.
23:58
SPEAKER_00: So I have no uh scientific evidence of what his feces would look like.
24:03
SPEAKER_00: And I'm just gonna have to go with what's in the movie.
24:05
SPEAKER_00: But yeah, he wrote his name in poop on the walls at the pizza parlor, and this is the scene we were discussing earlier, where he is making faces at Tara and Dawn, and it is horrific.
24:17
SPEAKER_00: And then he goes on to brutally murder the two uh shop workers there, carving one's head into a jack-o'-lantern and just stabbing the other.
24:28
SPEAKER_00: How many times do you think he stabbed that guy in the face?
24:31
SPEAKER_00: Uh, so from the pizza parlor, the two gals having worked off their drunkenness, decide they should go back to the car, but their tires have been slashed.
24:41
SPEAKER_00: And I applaud Terrifier for thinking for trying to give reasons for why the girls are doing everything they do.
24:52
SPEAKER_00: You know, it's not just like, oh, why don't we just go into this spooky building for fun?
24:59
SPEAKER_00: But I it is light applause because at the same time, if I were a girl in a very sexy Halloween costume, and I saw a strange man in front of an abandoned building, I think that there would be little chance I would ask to use his restroom unless you're a freak.
25:25
SPEAKER_03: Also, like the street is way cleaner than that restroom.
25:30
SPEAKER_03: Just saying.
25:31
SPEAKER_03: I I would not.
25:33
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean I've seen people in New York do it.
25:37
SPEAKER_01: Why can't she?
25:39
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
25:40
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I've literally seen someone pooping in the 34th Street uh BD subway station.
25:48
SPEAKER_03: We saw a woman just pull down her pants in the middle of the subway platform and just pee right in front of an entire train of people.
25:56
SPEAKER_01: Yep.
25:57
SPEAKER_01: And it was Caroline.
26:00
SPEAKER_00: I'm wondering.
26:02
SPEAKER_00: We were discussing whether or not Art the Clown is real.
26:05
SPEAKER_00: I want to ask you a thought that just occurred to me because you're making my cogs turn.
26:11
SPEAKER_00: Do you think that there is something going on with Tara?
26:15
SPEAKER_00: Because why can't she navigate this building?
26:19
SPEAKER_00: Like, what do you think the building is magical in some way?
26:22
SPEAKER_00: Do you think that Tara is, you know, losing it?
26:26
SPEAKER_00: Because why can't they get out of this building?
26:29
SPEAKER_00: Why can't they like this building?
26:31
SPEAKER_00: There is something going on where it just keeps unfolding.
26:35
SPEAKER_03: Well, I think he I think Art the Clown locked it all because the exterminators couldn't even get in.
26:42
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean it's a very disorienting building.
26:46
SPEAKER_00: I mean, yeah.
26:47
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I just think I think there's no way I would be well, I mean, it's true because at the beginning Tara does go the door, there's a chain and padlock on it, but after that, she is really just running around with no purpose, uh, besides getting out and cannot find her way.
27:03
SPEAKER_00: And I just feel like foolishness, you know?
27:07
SPEAKER_00: There's no way.
27:08
SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
27:09
SPEAKER_03: I mean, there's like there's several components, like it was an office building, there were like multiple levels of a garage, like, you know, buildings in New York can be weirdly built.
27:23
SPEAKER_00: Were they in New York?
27:24
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
27:26
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, she had a Metro card.
27:28
SPEAKER_01: I mean, they weren't in New York, but she had a Metro card, so I think it was New York.
27:32
SPEAKER_00: I didn't even notice a Metro card.
27:33
SPEAKER_00: Where was that?
27:34
SPEAKER_03: When they showed her phone and her belongings.
27:40
SPEAKER_00: Well, I don't think that this movie is completely without art, though, because I um I noted in my notes that when Art the Clown is chasing Tara through the apart or the uh office building in that weird car lot that's apparently inside, the way that they are shooting art through the windows.
28:06
SPEAKER_00: Uh I thought it was very artistic.
28:08
SPEAKER_00: I thought it was beautiful.
28:09
SPEAKER_00: There's some beautiful colors and lighting and the angles.
28:13
SPEAKER_03: I made note of that scene and also at the end through the peephole in the cabinet.
28:20
SPEAKER_03: I thought those were both very artistic and didn't require a lot of budget, but just raw skill of filming.
28:29
SPEAKER_03: Mm-hmm.
28:30
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
28:30
SPEAKER_00: And I also really appreciate, like you said, there are some very effective jump scares in here.
28:36
SPEAKER_00: I jumped quite a few times.
28:38
SPEAKER_00: But what I love is that she's hiding amongst the cars.
28:42
SPEAKER_00: She's trying to, you know, dodge him, obviously.
28:46
SPEAKER_00: And when he appears, it's not just a jump scare, but he actually like stabs her and stabs into her leg pretty gruesomely.
28:55
SPEAKER_00: And what I love about that is that it's not just like a like boo, ah, it's it's that there is like harm and danger being done to to her from the get-go.
29:08
SPEAKER_00: And I think that that ups the the scare and ups the tension because you know that she's not just gonna keep running away, like she's actually in harm's way, which leads to the great twist of her not being the final girl.
29:21
SPEAKER_00: You know, she gets shot in the face like five bajillion times.
29:25
SPEAKER_03: Which that actually did surprise me because I thought she was our final girl.
29:31
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and Caroline, you had texted me with some disappointment that Art had used a gun.
29:37
SPEAKER_00: Uh, and I'm usually on the same page that guns in horror movies a little boring because it's quick and easy.
29:43
SPEAKER_00: You know, we want something a little more torturous.
29:45
SPEAKER_00: But what I love about this is that it's such a shock that he just whips that gun out and shoots her.
29:51
SPEAKER_00: It's something that I never saw coming and like really surprised me.
29:55
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
29:55
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
29:57
SPEAKER_03: I did enjoy that like it just didn't turn into like a full shooting movie.
30:04
SPEAKER_03: Because clearly he was here for the thrill of the kill.
30:08
SPEAKER_03: Mm-hmm.
30:09
SPEAKER_03: So Yeah, art doesn't want it to be.
30:11
SPEAKER_03: And then at the end when he whips it out, I wasn't expecting it because there was so much of a break in the gun usage.
30:18
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
30:19
SPEAKER_00: Uh now I don't think there's any way to avoid it any longer.
30:22
SPEAKER_00: I think we have to talk about Dawn's death.
30:25
SPEAKER_00: So she loses that scarecrow costume, thank God.
30:30
SPEAKER_00: But taking that things back, she is now naked, chained upside down, and ready to be split in half.
30:41
SPEAKER_00: Thoughts?
30:42
SPEAKER_03: Hot take, part two.
30:44
SPEAKER_03: I think she looks quite lovely hanging there.
30:48
SPEAKER_00: Hmm.
30:48
SPEAKER_03: Upside down.
30:49
SPEAKER_00: Artistry?
30:51
SPEAKER_03: Artistry.
30:52
SPEAKER_03: It really was.
30:54
SPEAKER_03: And then they just saw it from and then I see him rip off the panties, and I'm like, okay, nothing good.
31:03
SPEAKER_03: How do you have to use that word?
31:04
SPEAKER_03: That word is so panties and panties.
31:09
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and then I just know he's up to trouble.
31:12
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I want to know what is your read emotionally on this scene.
31:16
SPEAKER_00: I found this to be a very distressing moment, and I just want to know like your thoughts, your reactions, like when you're viewing this scene in the moment, what were you thinking and feeling?
31:28
SPEAKER_01: Most memorable murder, that's all I'm thinking.
31:30
SPEAKER_03: I squeezed my legs together tighter than I've ever squeezed my legs together watching that.
31:36
SPEAKER_01: Same.
31:38
SPEAKER_00: The first time I watched this, I felt a little bit icky about it.
31:43
SPEAKER_00: I mean, obviously, it's not enjoyable watching somebody be sawed in half, but I think that this is a particularly violating moment.
31:51
SPEAKER_00: And I actually tried, I dug through quite a few interviews with Damien Leone to see if he like commented in some way on if this was supposed to be like erotic in some way, because we've discussed before that sometimes these male horror creators-actually, I think I discussed this with Julianne and not you, but sometimes disgusting graphic things happen and it's a little uncomfortable to watch in 2020 because you don't know if it's supposed to be like titillating in some way.
32:21
SPEAKER_00: And this scene I just really struggled with, like if this was supposed to be like sexual in some way, which in makes it feel gross to me.
32:30
SPEAKER_00: I think if I'm trying to recommend this movie to somebody, this is the scene that's stopping me from being like, Yeah, go watch Terrifier.
32:39
SPEAKER_03: This is the scene that's making me be like, watch Terrifier, it's a fun Halloween movie, but Yeah, that that murder scene is gonna stick with me forever.
32:49
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's really gonna split you down the middle.
32:54
SPEAKER_03: Also, I couldn't help but thinking about the logistics of that.
33:00
SPEAKER_03: Like, I don't know if that's possible.
33:02
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't think anything's possible.
33:05
SPEAKER_00: But there's a lot of bone to get through there.
33:08
SPEAKER_00: The way that I I will commend the way that her whole body, it's like it does not look, it looks like a real body, like the way that it's flopping and shaking, and the way that the blood is oozing, like I think it is a very spectacular display of the effects there.
33:27
SPEAKER_00: I think that's incredible.
33:28
SPEAKER_00: And I did listen to an interview, I think they discussed this in the Dead Meat podcast review of Terrifier.
33:35
SPEAKER_00: That the reason, one of the reasons she's naked is because logistically, if they were trying to make this effect, sawing through her with clothes on, the continuity of trying to shoot the fabric tearing in just the right way would be next to impossible.
33:52
SPEAKER_00: Which is why, you know, maybe they have her in panties so they can show her without showing gine, which might be I don't know what the rules are on showing gine for ratings, but they rip it off so that they don't have to deal with the clothes clothes later.
34:09
SPEAKER_03: Were her arms tied down?
34:11
SPEAKER_03: Because I feel like when they show her, she's just flopping, but like once it starts, you know, I feel like a little ab work she could have I don't know.
34:22
SPEAKER_00: You think you would have gotten out of that trap, Caroline?
34:25
SPEAKER_03: No, I would have been squirming a little bit more than she would have, though.
34:30
SPEAKER_00: It looks like her arms are bound behind her back.
34:34
SPEAKER_03: That would make it difficult.
34:36
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and plus that would be a lot of core work, and her ankles are probably in a lot of pain there, chained to the ceiling, taking all of her weight.
34:45
SPEAKER_03: Never mind.
34:46
SPEAKER_03: Debunked.
34:48
SPEAKER_00: Uh, hole filled.
34:51
SPEAKER_00: Um, another thing that's interesting that happens here is like we said, the the final girl switches out and Vicky shows up, and this is a plot hole that I have seen people take issue with many a time.
35:06
SPEAKER_00: That apparently this building is absolutely impenetrable.
35:11
SPEAKER_00: Can't get in, can't get out.
35:13
SPEAKER_00: And somehow Vicky just wanders in through the back.
35:16
SPEAKER_03: That is so real.
35:18
SPEAKER_03: I didn't even think about that.
35:20
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's a plot hole.
35:22
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
35:23
SPEAKER_03: If I couldn't find my sister and she had wandered into a scary building, I don't think I would go in.
35:31
SPEAKER_00: Picture this.
35:32
SPEAKER_00: We're at a spooky building.
35:33
SPEAKER_00: You're coming to pick up me and Ian, who have had a guy's night out on the town, and uh you get a text from me that's like, oh, Ian is absolutely just shit faced back here.
35:46
SPEAKER_00: Come help me carry him out of this building.
35:49
SPEAKER_00: You know, what would you do?
35:50
SPEAKER_03: Okay, yeah, you're right.
35:51
SPEAKER_03: I would go in.
35:52
SPEAKER_00: There you go.
35:52
SPEAKER_00: Debunk.
35:54
SPEAKER_03: My follow my follow-up question to that, because I thought about this during the movie.
35:59
SPEAKER_03: Do you think it would be nearly as scary without the sound effects?
36:03
SPEAKER_03: I feel like this movie is like 90% scary sound effects.
36:07
SPEAKER_03: No.
36:08
SPEAKER_03: And after watching Hellhouse, which look like didn't have anything at all, I was just thinking this this wouldn't be good without all of these effects.
36:21
SPEAKER_01: The thing that carries this movie is art.
36:26
SPEAKER_03: But he's silent.
36:27
SPEAKER_03: That's what I'm saying.
36:29
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
36:29
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I think that his silence is really scary.
36:32
SPEAKER_00: I think I noted that like the 80s kind of synth score to this movie was quite lovely, but I can't necessarily remember it um in tandem with the scares.
36:43
SPEAKER_00: I know we talked about in Insidious, our Insidious episode, that sound, I think, is a huge part of horror, that the jarring sounds of a horror movie can be the most scary things.
36:56
SPEAKER_00: And in fact, I was watching a horror movie last night.
36:59
SPEAKER_00: I will not tell you what it is because I was watching it as a preview for programming for November.
37:05
SPEAKER_00: But there was a scene where it was dark, it was silent, you could tell there was about to be a scare.
37:12
SPEAKER_00: There was no visual jump, there was just a loud bang.
37:16
SPEAKER_00: And it, I jumped up off the couch, you know, more so than I think I did later when there were visual things happening.
37:23
SPEAKER_00: So I think that, yeah, I think sound has a lot to do with our fear reaction, but I don't think that this movie leans on it too much.
37:33
SPEAKER_00: I think that this movie is all about shocking you and the kind of theatrics of Art the Clown.
37:43
SPEAKER_01: I agree.
37:44
SPEAKER_03: Just something I picked up on because he is silent.
37:47
SPEAKER_00: Speaking of theatrics, let's talk about this little drag show that Art puts on.
37:51
SPEAKER_00: He saws the the scalp and the boobies off of Emily's mother.
37:57
SPEAKER_00: Poor Emily, I will not get over her.
37:59
SPEAKER_00: She's now in foster care.
38:01
SPEAKER_00: We should do a follow-up.
38:03
SPEAKER_00: Emily, where is she now?
38:05
SPEAKER_00: But um, yes, Art goes masquerading as a lady.
38:10
SPEAKER_03: Best part of the movie.
38:12
SPEAKER_03: Like, if Art didn't prove his theatrical skills to me in the first portion of this movie, this was just he nailed it.
38:22
SPEAKER_03: I think it's the best part, but it it is some good acting.
38:27
SPEAKER_01: I think him riding the bike is pretty good.
38:31
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's like that's like classic clown horror though, but like this gets into the real like theater art of clowning.
38:40
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think what's shocking to me, what's what's exciting and kind of scary about this moment is not just that he's sawn the boobs off of a woman, which I can't even think of the logistics.
38:53
SPEAKER_00: That would be very painful.
38:54
SPEAKER_00: That's a flat surface that you're sawing off, you know?
38:58
SPEAKER_00: But to me, it's that art is naked, and I can't think of another horror movie like this, another slasher movie where the villain is exposing himself in that kind of vulnerability.
39:10
SPEAKER_00: I think that that's really scary, that art feels absolutely untouchable, so much so that he's willing to be completely naked in front of his victims.
39:20
SPEAKER_03: It is perfectly shaded, so you can't see anything.
39:24
SPEAKER_01: I thought he just had like a body shoe suit on.
39:26
SPEAKER_00: No, and I let me tell you, I was pausing and really uh analyzing to tell what I could see.
39:34
SPEAKER_03: No, I really enjoyed that, and I think it added a huge layer of depth to art's character.
39:41
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
39:42
SPEAKER_00: And I mean, I don't think that this has any sort of statement about, you know, gender.
39:46
SPEAKER_00: I think it's more about insanity and his absolute his his more of his desire to just rip everything from his victims and uh make a joke out of them.
39:59
SPEAKER_00: Like I think that this is a display of how like sick he is, that he's having so much fun and he sees the opportunity to dress up, and of course he's a clown, he's going to.
40:10
SPEAKER_03: Why is he a clown?
40:11
SPEAKER_03: Why is he doing all these miming things?
40:14
SPEAKER_03: What does he like that and you know, portraying different genders is part of that?
40:21
SPEAKER_03: But I I guess I like I understood that he was a clown the entire time, but I it like that scene took it to the next level of like, oh, like like clowning is like mime and and all of that is like a I don't know, you just don't think of that when you see scary clowns, you know.
40:40
SPEAKER_00: Hey Caroline, did you understand that art is a clown?
40:46
SPEAKER_03: No, but like like I know I know people that are in the theater industry that are clowns, you know, but like they're not like the fake nose kind of thing.
40:55
SPEAKER_03: And I feel like most of the time in horror movies, they're just portrayed as that.
40:58
SPEAKER_03: They're like the typical clown with the big nose, and they like kill people.
41:03
SPEAKER_03: But this was like the first time that I saw real mime, real acting, and like play in it, you know?
41:12
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I've been to a a clown show in a theater, and unfortunately, there was no murder, but it was very similar in uh like playfulness and like um technique to what I saw in this movie.
41:29
SPEAKER_00: Like I do, like clearly the actor David Howard Thornton is trained as a clown.
41:35
SPEAKER_00: Speaking of that, as Vicky is trying to make her escape, uh, there is a moment that I absolutely adore where she slams him in the foot with some sort of sharp object and is really gushing it around in his toes, and he's silently screaming, and I think that that was an incredible moment and kind of like a moment of um uh like emotional resonance for Art the Clown that we do not see elsewhere in the movie.
42:06
SPEAKER_03: Do you think he can speak?
42:08
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
42:09
SPEAKER_00: It could just all be a game.
42:11
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
42:12
SPEAKER_00: Well, that leads me to a quote that I put down in my notes from an interview with Damien Leone by Clout Communications.
42:23
SPEAKER_00: The question was why art is so violent or as violent as possible.
42:29
SPEAKER_00: Um, and Damien Leone said, There's so much content out there right now, and I believe that if you want to stand out, it doesn't hurt to show things that will really grab the audience's attention and get them talking.
42:43
SPEAKER_00: It's 2017, there's been thousands of horror movies.
42:47
SPEAKER_00: I mean, how many times can you show a knife cutting through the air followed by a shot of blood hitting the wall?
42:53
SPEAKER_00: Almost everything has been done to death, so I feel I have a duty to the audience to present them with stuff that hasn't quite been seen before, or if it has, to do it in a way that feels fresh.
43:06
SPEAKER_01: Honestly, I gotta be honest.
43:09
SPEAKER_01: This guy sounds to be he's kind of sounds like he's trying to flex himself.
43:14
SPEAKER_00: I mean, why not if you're gonna make a movie, flex.
43:18
SPEAKER_03: He made that movie on a hundred thousand dollars.
43:21
unknown: Yeah.
43:21
SPEAKER_00: That's a flex.
43:23
SPEAKER_00: And I think that it's true.
43:24
SPEAKER_00: I think that he I mean, I cannot say that I have seen anything else like this movie.
43:30
SPEAKER_00: I mean, the whole vibe of it is giving, you know, homage to the 70s and 80s like grindhouse slashers that we've watched before on this podcast.
43:39
SPEAKER_00: But um I think that yeah, terrifier is a pretty unique experience.
43:44
SPEAKER_03: So does it have like a big reputation for being super scary?
43:52
SPEAKER_00: Um, it's I think it just blew up.
43:55
SPEAKER_00: Like I think everybody I mean, it was on Netflix and then everybody was talking.
44:00
SPEAKER_00: Talking about it.
44:01
SPEAKER_00: I think that what it really grasped people, what Terrifier really pulled people in with is exactly what that quote was saying.
44:09
SPEAKER_00: That it's shocking and that it's so like the effects are so masterful.
44:15
SPEAKER_00: I think that horror audiences and fans are really into seeing these kinds of traditional practical effects.
44:24
SPEAKER_00: I think that it can get tedious and tiresome to see computer-generated blood and gore, and that the amount, there's so many things that happen in this movie, and so many ways that people are tortured and massacred, that I think it's just impressive.
44:42
SPEAKER_00: I think there's no denying that this movie is kind of a feat.
44:46
SPEAKER_00: Like there's something really incredible about it, even if you don't like it.
44:52
SPEAKER_00: The last quote I have from Damien Leone before I just want to hit on the end of the movie, is he said to me, Terrifier, uh, the title, terrifier, was more a reflection of the film as an experience and not necessarily has anything to do with the characters or story.
45:14
SPEAKER_00: And I think nail on the head.
45:18
SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
45:19
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
45:19
SPEAKER_00: Yep.
45:20
SPEAKER_00: I didn't even think about the title.
45:22
SPEAKER_00: So what do you think about the finale?
45:25
SPEAKER_00: Um, Art eating the face of Vicky, and then taken to the dirtiest morgue I've ever seen in my life, and uh arises to kill the mortician, and then there's this epilogue with um, you know, Vicky getting out of the um hospital.
45:46
SPEAKER_01: I think it's absolutely bizarre that she goes right back inside when she frees herself.
45:55
SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
45:56
SPEAKER_01: That to me was illogical.
45:59
SPEAKER_00: Into that garage.
46:00
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
46:01
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
46:02
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
46:02
SPEAKER_00: I thought that was illogical.
46:04
SPEAKER_00: And the other big question mark I have is like I said, I think that the beginning of the movie trying to figure out who is this um, you know, woman with a deformed face is an exciting thing to have in the movie, but I can't think of a single reason why Vicky would now be killing other people or at least doing the same thing to them.
46:29
SPEAKER_00: Like I know that woman was an absolute bitch, but I don't I that doesn't cut check out for me that somebody who had suffered through all that would then be doing the same.
46:39
SPEAKER_03: So here's the thing that weird, like flashing lights, all of that in the morgue seemed super natural, and in a way, I feel like passed it on to Victoria.
46:59
SPEAKER_03: And then at the beginning of the movie, when she's on the talk show, they briefly show like something happening to her.
47:08
SPEAKER_03: Like she's like shaking her head or something.
47:11
SPEAKER_03: So I I don't know, but I I feel like something was passed in that moment.
47:17
SPEAKER_00: Some sort of possession, the spirit of art?
47:20
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
47:21
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
47:22
SPEAKER_03: Okay.
47:23
SPEAKER_03: I love that.
47:23
SPEAKER_03: Spirit of art.
47:24
SPEAKER_03: Let's start a dance company.
47:28
SPEAKER_03: That's my theory.
47:29
SPEAKER_00: Well, let's wrap it up.
47:32
SPEAKER_00: What from Terrifier would you say is the most well before I ask?
47:40
SPEAKER_00: I think this is going to truly be a nail biter.
47:42
SPEAKER_00: I have absolutely no idea what you're going to say.
47:44
SPEAKER_00: But what would you say from Terrifier is the most memorable murder?
47:50
SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna describe it the same way that I described to Parker during the movie via text.
47:57
SPEAKER_01: V-section.
47:59
SPEAKER_00: Did you say V-section?
48:01
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
48:02
SPEAKER_00: Genius.
48:03
SPEAKER_00: I love that.
48:04
SPEAKER_00: I think that we have a unanimous vote this week.
48:07
SPEAKER_00: I don't think there is any way that image will ever be leaving my mind.
48:12
SPEAKER_00: I will never think of a vagina the same way again.
48:16
SPEAKER_00: To me, vaginas now are from forehead to underside.
48:22
SPEAKER_01: A gateway.
48:24
SPEAKER_00: I liked when she said vagina split.
48:26
SPEAKER_00: That sounds like something I would order at Brahms.
48:28
SPEAKER_03: Extra cherries on top.
48:33
SPEAKER_00: Now, on a scary scale of one to five, how would you rate Terrifier four?
48:41
SPEAKER_03: I'm sticking with four as well.
48:44
SPEAKER_00: Any reasoning?
48:45
SPEAKER_01: I think it was really scary.
48:47
SPEAKER_01: I think, um, honestly, I feel like the last two movies have been some of the scariest we've seen in a long time.
48:56
SPEAKER_03: I think for me, the only reason that it's not out of five is because this type of movie doesn't really like scare me, scare me like more of the psychological horror movies get into that range.
49:14
SPEAKER_03: But I feel like this and Hellhouse were as high as my scary scale could get without being in that type of genre.
49:24
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
49:24
SPEAKER_00: I agree.
49:25
SPEAKER_00: For me, honestly, Terrifier is a five out of five.
49:28
SPEAKER_00: I think that it is so scary.
49:30
SPEAKER_00: I like uh it's the type of movie where I'm in bed and I'll see a shadow and think it's Art the Clown.
49:37
SPEAKER_00: Like, this movie like really freaked me out.
49:40
SPEAKER_00: And I was looking back through the movies that we've watched, and I don't think we've watched anything nearly as disgusting as this.
49:46
SPEAKER_00: I think that this is truly unique in how absolutely grotesque it is, and that's a five out of five for me, baby.
49:56
SPEAKER_00: Would you give Terrifier a smash or a vagina slash?
50:03
SPEAKER_01: I would give it a sla uh smash.
50:07
SPEAKER_03: That was mixed feelings.
50:09
SPEAKER_01: No, I honestly I give it a smash.
50:11
SPEAKER_01: I just accidentally almost said it the other.
50:14
SPEAKER_03: I would give it a uh head smash to the face.
50:19
SPEAKER_03: Get it?
50:19
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I yeah, I got it.
50:22
SPEAKER_03: But with the caveat that I probably will never watch it again.
50:27
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm going to give it a smash as well.
50:30
SPEAKER_00: I feel like I've been kind of raving about it in this episode, but at the same time, I did not enjoy watching it, and I honestly remember liking it more than I did this time.
50:42
SPEAKER_00: I had trouble like making it all the way through the movie this time, and so I applaud it in many ways.
50:48
SPEAKER_00: I think it's a smash.
50:49
SPEAKER_00: It's an experience everybody should have if you're a horror fan.
50:54
SPEAKER_00: But um, yes, it's one of those one and done.
50:57
SPEAKER_00: So, what would you say is your favorite scary movie?
51:06
SPEAKER_01: One, two, three.
51:09
SPEAKER_01: Hello.
51:10
SPEAKER_02: Cool.
51:11
SPEAKER_00: What I thought y'all were about to shock me and say terrifier.
51:16
SPEAKER_00: Um, anticlimactic, sad.
51:20
SPEAKER_00: Um uh what about you, Parker?
51:24
SPEAKER_00: I know.
51:25
SPEAKER_00: I feel like I'm just a sheep following now since y'all had that grand reveal, but I'm gonna stick with I'm gonna stick with Hellhouse because terrifier applause again.
51:37
SPEAKER_00: Um, my hands are hurting from how much clapping I've done for it this episode, but I just can't know.
51:46
SPEAKER_00: You can't even.
51:47
SPEAKER_00: Can't even.
51:49
SPEAKER_00: Next time on what's your favorite scary movie, Caroline and Ian unfortunately have gone back into hibernation for the winter, and we'll be back later in November for a little more spooky fun.

52:12
SPEAKER_00: There's been some fun stuff that's come out in November or in October, and we wanted to do kind of a roundup episode for everybody, and we're calling it the Halloween Hangover, where Julianne and I will be discussing some of the new releases in October, such as the new craft movie and The Haunting of Bly Manor.
