- Cindy Marler: Good morning, everyone. How was your wake up time this morning? Did you wake up when your alarm went off, or was it the first lie you told yourself of the day when you hit the snooze button? Did you sing a little praise to God before you got out of bed? What did that morning routine look like, that first few minutes? Well, whatever it looked like, I'm glad that this was a part of your morning routine too. We are going to discuss the word recover because I want to know how quickly do you recover? Well, let's think about the word recover. I love words. I'm a word nerd. So recover literally means to get back, to return to a covered state. Re meaning again or back, and then cover. It's supposed to reflect this journey from being exposed and vulnerable and getting back to safety and protection. It could mean from a physical illness. It can mean from a mental. It is a return to health. You could recover something that's lost. You could recover a stolen item. You bring it back into your possession. You regain the possession. So when we recover, we should know how long it takes us to recover from something. I've had surgeries. I've had a bilateral mastectomy. I've had a full hysterectomy. And when you go to the doctor, they tell you about how long it's going to take you to recover. Right? The doctor knows this. They've done this surgery hundreds of times. They've done gotten the information from patients. They know from experience you're gonna need a week of this, two more weeks of that, three weeks of this, no heavy lifting, no driving. They tell you this is how long it's going to take you to recover from this. Now we need to be our own recovery experts in our lives. So let's say it's an on-the-go vacation where it's go, go, go, go, go, go, go all day. How long do you need to recover from that? What about just from your typical week, five days a week? What is the recovery process from that look like? Does that look like? What about from something you have to grieve? What is your recovering? Right? Recover, going back to the place of safety and protection. We're getting back to the place where we're safe and protected. Recover. What does it look like? When you go see someone, you have a hard conversation, or you get into an argument with someone. What is your recovery process? How do you re-get back to that place of safety and protection? And stabilize yourself. So today, just for today, I want us thinking about what is our recovery process? How do we recover from just everyday life? How do we recover? How much time does it take? All I want you to do is think about it. What does your recovery process look like? And are you advising yourself, just like a doctor would, on what the recovery process for each of the things in your life would be like? Just start paying attention. I appreciate you guys. I'll see you tomorrow.
