- Jessica Figueroa: Hello, my favorite people. We are back here this morning. How are guys feeling today? How is everyone feeling? Are you enjoying this process? Are you learning? Are you growing? I know I am. All right, today I'm bringing you some bits and tidbits from The War of Art. If you're watching on YouTube, I am showing the book here. I've read this book several times. I love it. It's by Stephen Pressfield. I've had my one of my daughters read it so far. It's called The War of Art. And it talks about the war of creating, really, is what he's talking about. He's talking about writing. but I want to read to you a section and he's talking about being a professional. So just for today, we are going to act like professionals. Whether you're a professional homemaker or a professional wife, the term professional just means someone who takes it seriously and does what they're supposed to do. So he talks about professionals saying the professional, though he accepts money, does his work out of love. He has to love it. Otherwise, he wouldn't devote his life to it of his own free will. That's how I feel about being a mom. I want to be a professional mom. I also have the wonderful example of a beautiful stepmother who I've always considered a professional homemaker. While she's always worked and done her own thing as well, she's truly a professional homemaker. But he gives some bullet points of what a professional is, and I'm just going to read some to you. So a professional is patient, a professional seeks. Order. A professional demystifies it demystifies. A professional acts in the face of fear. Professional accepts no excuses. A professional plays it as it lays. Good old golf term right there. Play it as it lays. A professional is prepared. Ooh, that's a good one. A professional does not show off. That's why there's fines in some sports leagues for show boating, because professionals do not show off. A professional Dedicates himself to mastering technique. So if you're a professional homemaker, are you dedicating yourself to mastering techniques of making your home? A professional does not hesitate to ask for help. How many of you need to hear this? How many of you need to hear because you think asking for help makes you sound weak? When in fact, professionals do not hesitate to ask for help. Professionals dis distance themselves from their instrument. They distance themselves from their instrument. Professionals do not take failure or success personally. There is there is there's two sides of the same coin. And a professional endures adversity. A little list today, and just for today, we are going to be professionals. We're just going to be, let's be professional human beings. Professional human beings. And play this one again today and listen to that list as you go throughout your day. Just for today, guys, we are professionals.
