Transcript
- 0:00This episode is brought to you by Overthinking. Overthinking,
- 0:04because why should anything ever be as it seems?
- 0:07Overthinking has been helping people turn completely normal situations into
- 0:11elaborate theories for generations.
- 0:14See someone glance at their phone? They're cheating.
- 0:17Your Uber driver takes a different route. He's kidnapping you.
- 0:20Your boyfriend says, okay? He's definitely mad.
- 0:24Overthinking, taking nothing at face value since the beginning of time.

- 0:59But there's still time to sign up for the summer residency, so make sure you
- 1:03do as soon as possible so you can get the date you want.
- 1:07And if you're even considering it at all, just do it. Why not? It's all just for fun.
- 1:12In real news, Nick Reiner, the son of director Rob Reiner, and his wife Michelle,
- 1:17has officially been indicted in the deaths of his parents.
- 1:21The indictment was actually handed down July 20th, but it was unsealed yesterday.
- 1:26So we're now just getting more details about what the prosecutors are saying.
- 1:30Reiner is charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
- 1:34But here's like the really scary part. The prosecutors are saying that he was
- 1:39lying in wait before he murdered his parents.
- 1:43That means that this was deliberate and not just like a family argument that
- 1:47got super out of control.
- 1:49The indictment also says that a knife was used. Reiner said he was not guilty
- 1:54and remains in custody without bail.
- 1:57Prosecutors have not decided yet whether they will seek the death penalty.
- 2:01And there's still a huge unanswered question. the motive.
- 2:05Authorities haven't publicly laid out what they believe led to the killings,
- 2:09although there have been reports about an argument between Nick and his father
- 2:12Rob at a Christmas party the night before.
- 2:15The next hearing is scheduled for September 15th. So unfortunately,
- 2:19this is not a Hollywood plot twist, a dark comedy, or an extremely aggressive episode of Family Feud.
- 2:25This is a real, real criminal case, and now it's officially moving towards a trial.
- 2:30Okay, so Caroline Levitt is leaving the White House. Yes, again, this is non-adrealt.
- 2:35The 28-year-old press secretary is stepping down at the end of August,
- 2:40and Trump announced it yesterday on Truth Social.
- 2:43The timing is crazy.
- 2:46Caroline literally just came back from maternity leave.
- 2:50She just had her second baby and then took a few months off and returned to
- 2:54the briefing room in July, had one press briefing, and like literally five minutes
- 3:00later, she's like, actually, I'm good. I think I just want to go home now.
- 3:03She says that she wants to spend more time with her family and her young babies.
- 3:08Trump says she's going to remain one of his top outside advisors because he
- 3:13literally doesn't have that many more friends left, so he has to cling on to
- 3:17her even though she's leaving.
- 3:19Caroline Levitt became the youngest White House press secretary in history when
- 3:23she took the job at 27, and she's been one of Trump's most biggest fans.
- 3:28But here's where it gets interesting. Trump has not announced yet who's going to replace her,
- 3:35which means right now at the White House, there's about like 47 people updating
- 3:40their resumes and pretending they totally want to answer questions about tariffs at 9 a.m.
- 3:45Let's see who gets the big promotion. Okay, sorry. And then like one more Trump
- 3:50White House story for today.
- 3:52So our amazing president appeared to be falling asleep during an Oval Office event this week.
- 3:59And naturally, the internet responded like a group of people who should not be on the internet.
- 4:05So standing behind Trump was a former White House staffer named Jamie Lee Franklin.
- 4:10And people noticed that she kept touching her stomach while Trump's eyes were closing.
- 4:15So, they obviously assumed that she was controlling him with a remote.
- 4:20Yeah, okay. This conspiracy theory started circulating that Franklin had a button
- 4:25hidden under her stomach that she could press whenever Trump started falling asleep.
- 4:30They even gave her a name, The Zapper.
- 4:33Also, I would also like to point out that nobody stopped and was like,
- 4:37wait, she's probably just like touching her stomach.
- 4:39Everyone just went straight to human remote control. Franklin and then got on
- 4:45to respond to the theory on X and said, I'm just pregnant, you weirdos.
- 4:49That's literally the perfect response, though, because she is in fact pregnant.
- 4:54So yet again, the internet solved another mystery that did not exist.
- 4:59And for the record, the White House has obviously repeatedly denied that Trump
- 5:03is falling asleep in public events. Like, duh, he would never. Oh my god.
- 5:07Trump himself has previously said that sometimes people just catch him blinking.
- 5:11Like, everyone just needs to chill, right? in Lindsay Life.
- 5:15I'm currently in the middle of the AA battery project of 2026.
- 5:21I've had like a bunch of things that need batteries and I just never went around,
- 5:25got around to buying batteries for it, even though I live in the middle of New
- 5:28York City and there's AAA batteries, AA batteries literally everywhere, but I never bought them.
- 5:34So I'm finally getting batteries into my Roku remote, my fly zapper,
- 5:40and my portable speaker.
- 5:42All of the places that I've peed on top of a closed toilet seat by accident,
- 5:48and I always say, oh no, not again.
- 5:52A hotel room I was only in for like 11 minutes, a friend's wedding,
- 5:58a house I was about to film an HDTV show in, a restaurant in Brooklyn,
- 6:03and Alec Baldwin's house.
- 6:05Cooking tip of the day. While you're sauteing kale, throw a little garlic in there.
