Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to She's on the Money, the podcast
- 0:02Speaker 1: for millennials who want financial freedom.
- 0:05Speaker 2: And I so well, because.
- 0:08Speaker 3: You've given a script this listen.
- 0:10Speaker 1: You've written it down for me, and that's what happens
- 0:13Speaker 1: when we're prepared.
- 0:14Speaker 2: The bar is so low.
- 0:17Speaker 3: Excuse me? Where's the bar? Can we go?
- 0:19Speaker 2: I for the show? The bar is so so high.
- 0:22Speaker 2: But for Trav not getting one word of a six
- 0:24Speaker 2: word sentence wrong, I mean, come on.
- 0:26Speaker 1: I was going to have a response there, but nobody
- 0:28Speaker 1: has written a script for me.
- 0:29Speaker 2: So I sorry.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Well, we're back again this week. We're on the pod.
- 0:33Speaker 3: That's on the radio, that's on the pod. Yeah, it's
- 0:35Speaker 3: kind of like exception. Look, we're back with Trav and Mitch,
- 0:40Speaker 3: and then I get to hang out each and every
- 0:41Speaker 3: single week with you guys as well, which I adore.
- 0:44Speaker 3: But what is this like week three or four of
- 0:47Speaker 3: the podcast?
- 0:49Speaker 1: Four?
- 0:49Speaker 3: Now we've done it a month, had a radio show
- 0:52Speaker 3: for a month.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Someone get us a cake. You know, you make the
- 0:56Speaker 2: most out of all of us. I saw you actually
- 0:57Speaker 2: your west Pack app open on your phone, Victoria, I travel.
- 1:00Speaker 2: I haven't seen that many zeros in my life, truly,
- 1:02Speaker 2: don't think it was baffling. Look at mine, Ah, that's
- 1:05Speaker 2: the secret account.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Look at the mine. You will actually see that many zeros,
- 1:10Speaker 1: but just before.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Any other number and negative.
- 1:13Speaker 1: In front of all of this, we actually learned a
- 1:16Speaker 1: lot about Victoria Divine that I don't think even her
- 1:18Speaker 1: podcast community would know. We let about your poo schedule,
- 1:22Speaker 1: your about movement.
- 1:23Speaker 3: We absolutely did not. You just went Rogan started talking
- 1:27Speaker 3: about pool on the pod.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Why are you looking so red? Though?
- 1:29Speaker 3: Made it makes me uncomfortable.
- 1:32Speaker 2: If there's one thing hotter than your finance tips, it's
- 1:35Speaker 2: you on the bathroom at nine point thirty every Saturday.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Morning during the songs.
- 1:39Speaker 2: During the songs, Victoria, can you confirm or deny? Victoria requested,
- 1:44Speaker 2: actually that you play slower sad songs because that gives
- 1:47Speaker 2: them more time to poo.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Yeah. She asked if I would play November Rain, which is.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Like rain nonutes.
- 1:52Speaker 3: I wanted Bohemian Rhapsody. Why do you keep getting this wrong.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Because November Rain is a lot longer than Behemian Rhapsody.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Okay, cool, Well, maybe I don't need as much time
- 2:01Speaker 3: as you to poop. It's not my problem.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Did you know how to try the Victoria said, I
- 2:05Speaker 2: was sorry I was late traffic, but her car was
- 2:07Speaker 2: in the parking lot the whole time she was on
- 2:09Speaker 2: the toilet at all.
- 2:11Speaker 3: You know what I feel like today's episode was a
- 2:13Speaker 3: good episode. Yeah, I'm a bit biased, but the fact
- 2:15Speaker 3: that we got to go on Facebook marketplace and find
- 2:18Speaker 3: the most ridiculous things in the entire world, like I
- 2:21Speaker 3: reckon that was pretty good.
- 2:23Speaker 1: And the ridiculous high prices that some people are trying
- 2:25Speaker 1: to charge for it.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Do you know we printed out some things and some
- 2:28Speaker 3: of them didn't make it to the pod. But you
- 2:30Speaker 3: can buy haunted dolls like quote, it's not even cheap.
- 2:34Speaker 3: It's one hundred and forty dollars for this hand painted
- 2:38Speaker 3: horror porcelain doll.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Do you think it's more because it's haunted or less
- 2:42Speaker 2: because it's haunted?
- 2:43Speaker 3: I don't know, but it says meat Heidi a one
- 2:45Speaker 3: of a kind, hand painted, recreated porcelain doll. Heidi is
- 2:49Speaker 3: a circus freak with a soft heart but a sinister side.
- 2:53Speaker 3: When people are deep asleep, Heidi is looking for her
- 2:56Speaker 3: home to feel safe, but roam the streets at night.
- 3:00Speaker 1: I think that that is a hard note from me, who.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Goes money win I'm going to go buy that and
- 3:05Speaker 3: ruin my own life.
- 3:07Speaker 1: And you know the problem is right there is Heidi
- 3:10Speaker 1: was set to evil, not good. Little Simpsons threw back
- 3:12Speaker 1: for you.
- 3:13Speaker 2: And we're going to get a money matters in the
- 3:14Speaker 2: next couple of weeks. Hi, guys, I bought a curse
- 3:16Speaker 2: dole on Facebook and now my children head spins three sixty.
- 3:20Speaker 3: What I's a curse dole? Like, I feel like it's
- 3:23Speaker 3: like a horror movie where you just turn up to
- 3:25Speaker 3: a house and that house is just haunted.
- 3:28Speaker 1: This like, that's a good segment. I was about to say,
- 3:31Speaker 1: we need to do a haunted or a ghost tons
- 3:35Speaker 1: of style segments on this show. Because Victoria Devine, you
- 3:39Speaker 1: are the ghost queen.
- 3:40Speaker 2: You've got to go.
- 3:41Speaker 3: This is very niche content.
- 3:44Speaker 2: I didn't know this.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Tell me, tell me, tell me niche content. So I've
- 3:47Speaker 3: just moved out of my actual house and into Elise.
- 3:50Speaker 1: You've moved into Elise Lucky Elise. Yeah, I know.
- 3:53Speaker 3: I've just moved out of my house and into a
- 3:55Speaker 3: rental property for the next six months while we renovate.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Because I did all obviously, I did all the numbers
- 3:59Speaker 3: and budget and it works out if you do everything
- 4:01Speaker 3: at once. I say significantly on getting like the services
- 4:05Speaker 3: or whatever it is done twice.
- 4:06Speaker 1: I'm just shocked that you would even think about finances
- 4:09Speaker 1: and things like that in the future.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Actually crazy. We would have thought very out of character,
- 4:13Speaker 3: really really abstract, but so off brand. Anyway, we've moved
- 4:17Speaker 3: into this house and it is I would say it's gorgeous.
- 4:20Speaker 3: No one else is going to agree with me. It's
- 4:22Speaker 3: very seventies like it could be easily on that seventies show.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Think like I love that bar that's so in mid
- 4:30Speaker 2: century modern.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Which would so definitely be fair.
- 4:33Speaker 3: I am obsessed with this house. We have a sunken
- 4:36Speaker 3: lounge room like, we have those big seventies windows, like,
- 4:39Speaker 3: we have a.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Breakay, we get rich god aquariums. I'm not everywhere. Actually
- 4:45Speaker 2: we have at home movies.
- 4:46Speaker 3: There's a bit Small's opposite.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Didn't come with a television.
- 4:51Speaker 1: No, but the guest quarters.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Did you know I was sold in the second pool? Yeah,
- 4:57Speaker 2: which is inside the first pool?
- 4:58Speaker 1: Shall I call myself I'll put it make you feel
- 5:01Speaker 1: more at home.
- 5:02Speaker 3: That you should see the wallpaper in this house, like
- 5:05Speaker 3: floor to ceiling bathroom in floral. I love it. But
- 5:08Speaker 3: back to the story. I'm convinced this house is haunted
- 5:13Speaker 3: and low key okay with it, Like she's pretty nice,
- 5:16Speaker 3: but if she stopped doing weird things, that would be
- 5:19Speaker 3: kind of nicer. So she like asks me to walk
- 5:22Speaker 3: her dog. They kid you not, that's a wee joking.
- 5:25Speaker 2: That's odd.
- 5:26Speaker 3: It's odd.
- 5:26Speaker 1: You gotta pay you for that or what.
- 5:27Speaker 3: I don't think I'm gonna get paid, which.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Is great, that's free labor.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Obviously, maybe like a little deal. Stop haunting me an
- 5:33Speaker 1: old walky dog, mate.
- 5:34Speaker 3: And there's been too many coincidences where I'm like, ha
- 5:36Speaker 3: ha ha, like if someone's here, flick the lights, and
- 5:39Speaker 3: then they do and it's so scary and trav I
- 5:41Speaker 3: took a video of it and showed you this morning.
- 5:43Speaker 1: And I am not going to sleep tonight, thank you
- 5:45Speaker 1: very much. Mate.
- 5:45Speaker 3: So I'm convinced I either have a haunted house or
- 5:48Speaker 3: there's someone living in the roof messing with me.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Mitch. I know you're trying to save on rentmate, but
- 5:54Speaker 1: get out of that house. Hey, if you want more
- 5:57Speaker 1: money saving tips, you've got to listen to this show.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Going to do Super Savior Saturday, the tax edition. Going
- 6:03Speaker 1: to keep some more money in your bank account. But
- 6:05Speaker 1: you know what, we've talked way too much.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Can we give them the show?
- 6:08Speaker 1: Yeah, lit's enjoy the show.
- 6:10Speaker 3: What they want.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Here's your ghost Freese. She's on the Money Radio show Radio.
- 6:16Speaker 2: She's on the Money Radio Show with Victoria Divine.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Starts now that she's on the Money Radio Show with
- 6:24Speaker 1: Australia's number one finance podcast of Victoria Divine. Mitch Churi
- 6:28Speaker 1: in the seed as well and as all thanks to
- 6:30Speaker 1: Budget direct Guys, winner of Can Stars Insurer of the
- 6:33Speaker 1: Year Award twenty twenty two Budget Directs. They've solved it,
- 6:38Speaker 1: insurance solved.
- 6:40Speaker 3: They have indeed, but you know what's not solved? What
- 6:43Speaker 3: inflation and how much things are costing at the moment.
- 6:46Speaker 2: I saw it in person literally last night. I went
- 6:48Speaker 2: for sushi and you know what the sushi trains. I
- 6:50Speaker 2: love a sushi train.
- 6:52Speaker 3: They have the plate with the price of the sushi train,
- 6:54Speaker 3: not like just getting ober eas.
- 6:56Speaker 2: No, I actually physically when I don't know right for once,
- 6:58Speaker 2: I'm a changed man. And you know how the prices
- 7:00Speaker 2: on the plates on the wall, like the green plates
- 7:02Speaker 2: are dollar, the purple they were removing the plates and
- 7:05Speaker 2: adding new plates.
- 7:07Speaker 1: You give prices in motion that is actually ridiculous. You
- 7:12Speaker 1: know what, companies, We're not standing for it anymore. That's
- 7:15Speaker 1: why we're going to do this.
- 7:18Speaker 3: All right, I'm get done on trademarking. This is great.
- 7:21Speaker 1: I know thirteen six five. We want you to call
- 7:24Speaker 1: us right now here on Shees on the Money radio
- 7:27Speaker 1: show and tell us what have you seen that is
- 7:31Speaker 1: just regard damndiculous price wise?
- 7:33Speaker 3: Oh do you know what I can tell you. I
- 7:35Speaker 3: can tell you that I was at the airport the
- 7:37Speaker 3: other day and I paid seven dollars forty for a
- 7:41Speaker 3: regular oat larte. No, seven dollars like, not an extra large,
- 7:45Speaker 3: not anything like. At these prices, I'm gonna end up
- 7:48Speaker 3: being better off paying for a business class ticket and
- 7:51Speaker 3: getting the free coffee in the lounge than I am
- 7:53Speaker 3: actually paying for it at the cafe.
- 7:55Speaker 2: You know what airports do that though, don't they? Airport
- 8:00Speaker 2: like they've they inflated ten years in the future. Everything's
- 8:03Speaker 2: so expensive at an airport.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not sure if it's actually inflation or them
- 8:06Speaker 3: just taking the mickey.
- 8:07Speaker 1: So if I had something at the airport, I would
- 8:09Speaker 1: just undercut everyone by two bucks and get all the business.
- 8:12Speaker 3: Yeah, just be like the cheap place at the airport exactly.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Richie Reach, our producer, was telling me he paid five
- 8:17Speaker 1: dollars ten for a six hundred milli PEPSI max. You
- 8:21Speaker 1: can get two leaders for two bucks.
- 8:25Speaker 3: No, that's an absolute joke. I would have buy choice.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Just said no, I'm not I'm not doing that, and
- 8:30Speaker 3: I mixed my drink with water.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Yeah, that's ridiculous.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Anyway, at thirteen one a six y five, we are
- 8:34Speaker 1: taking your calls right now, Judy has called us. Judy,
- 8:37Speaker 1: what's too damn expensive?
- 8:39Speaker 2: Blueberries?
- 8:40Speaker 3: Blueberries are too expensive.
- 8:42Speaker 2: I went to get blueberries yesterday and they were eight dolets.
- 8:49Speaker 3: No, no, like for a couple.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Of puets eight dollars.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Did you buy the blueberries though?
- 8:55Speaker 2: No?
- 8:56Speaker 3: Yeah, good work, Judy Baker stand you should have stolen them.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Not very cheese on the money.
- 9:02Speaker 2: I don't know what came over me.
- 9:03Speaker 1: I would have picked them up, thrown them on the
- 9:05Speaker 1: floor and said, yeah you know why No, No.
- 9:07Speaker 3: That's a lot of money for berries.
- 9:10Speaker 2: That's shocking, all right.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Thirteen one a six five, Natasha, what have you seen?
- 9:14Speaker 1: That was absolutely ridiculous in price?
- 9:16Speaker 3: So I saw iceberg lettice, which is usually two dollars
- 9:20Speaker 3: fifty ahead, and I saw it for eight dollars ninety
- 9:22Speaker 3: eight ahead, eight dollars ninety Oh my gosh, hang on
- 9:26Speaker 3: a second, that's absolutely wrong.
- 9:31Speaker 2: See that's the problem. Everyone always tells me, eats salad,
- 9:33Speaker 2: eats salad, it's healthier. But no, I can get a
- 9:35Speaker 2: double cheeseburger for a dollar ninety nine.
- 9:38Speaker 1: You can get an.
- 9:39Speaker 3: Entire meal for that iceberg. Yeah, an iceberg lettuce is
- 9:42Speaker 3: fluff like.
- 9:42Speaker 2: It tasteses water. It's water.
- 9:45Speaker 3: It's the worst lettuce of all lettuces.
- 9:47Speaker 1: You know what I'm actually gonna do. I'm going to
- 9:48Speaker 1: buy that big Mac or whatever you're buying me. You're
- 9:50Speaker 1: going to take the lettuce out and resell that.
- 9:52Speaker 3: You wait, your big max are going to increase in
- 9:55Speaker 3: price because they've got that shredded iceberg lettuce in it.
- 9:57Speaker 2: You have the underground lettuce market's about to boom every.
- 10:01Speaker 3: And also, do you know what I hate when they
- 10:02Speaker 3: say it's eight dollars ninety eight or whatever?
- 10:05Speaker 2: You grow up?
- 10:05Speaker 3: No, it is who even has two cents?
- 10:10Speaker 1: Everybody cash these days? What is? Yeah? I don't know.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Yeah. Each week we're going to bring you someone's financial
- 10:18Speaker 2: story on ed to get Victoria's advice on what they
- 10:20Speaker 2: should do. And it's a real broad stretch here. We
- 10:22Speaker 2: had a four year old one week, twelve months old
- 10:25Speaker 2: the other asking for finance. My love, Victoria, You've got
- 10:27Speaker 2: such a wide audience, is key.
- 10:30Speaker 3: You also Holy Tunity before their track to call me
- 10:33Speaker 3: a pood caster.
- 10:34Speaker 1: You know what, I'm just trying to clean the show up. Guys,
- 10:36Speaker 1: you keep dragging her down, Victoria Devine, It's who I.
- 10:38Speaker 3: Am as a parse.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Anyway, let's answer Holly's question. Holly sent this in to
- 10:42Speaker 2: She's on the Money Social. She said, one of my
- 10:43Speaker 2: friends recently hit me up for a loan. He's going
- 10:46Speaker 2: through a bit of a tough time and has asked
- 10:47Speaker 2: me for one thousand bucks to help tide him over
- 10:50Speaker 2: for a while. His promised still pay it back within
- 10:52Speaker 2: the next few months. I really want to help him out,
- 10:54Speaker 2: but I'm cautious should I give him the loan. Do
- 10:56Speaker 2: I need to draw up a written agreement to protect myself?
- 10:59Speaker 2: What's the best way to go about this?
- 11:02Speaker 3: It's actually so hard when friends ask for money, and
- 11:05Speaker 3: my approach to this is obviously, if you're not in
- 11:08Speaker 3: the financial situation to be able to afford that. The
- 11:10Speaker 3: answer is like, sorry, I actually can't help. But if
- 11:13Speaker 3: you are and that's something you want to do, I
- 11:15Speaker 3: would actually really question whether that's a good idea or not.
- 11:19Speaker 3: So when someone asks you for money, from my perspective,
- 11:22Speaker 3: you're going to lose one of two things. You're either
- 11:24Speaker 3: going to lose a friendship or the money, which one
- 11:26Speaker 3: is sometimes even both, sometimes even both. So we need
- 11:30Speaker 3: to be really clear on if I leant tr have
- 11:32Speaker 3: one thousand bucks, Like, from my perspective, you kind of
- 11:36Speaker 3: have to feel a bit that you're not going to
- 11:38Speaker 3: get it back obviously trying you can put a written
- 11:40Speaker 3: agreement in place and do that, but I would really
- 11:42Speaker 3: be potentially trying to help your friend in a different
- 11:46Speaker 3: way and saying like all right, Travs, sit down, I
- 11:48Speaker 3: know you need a thousand dollars, Like maybe there's another
- 11:51Speaker 3: way we can get it. It shouldn't come from me
- 11:53Speaker 3: as a friend, like maybe looking into resources that could
- 11:56Speaker 3: help them, maybe having a look at the National Debt Helpline,
- 11:59Speaker 3: which I'm upset with because they are really good eggs
- 12:01Speaker 3: doing well.
- 12:01Speaker 2: It's a debt helmep line. What's that?
- 12:03Speaker 3: It's essentially a national debt helpline that you can call.
- 12:06Speaker 3: It is free. There are financial counselors on there. They
- 12:08Speaker 3: can give you access to things like Nils loans. So
- 12:11Speaker 3: Nils loans is a loan that has no interest attached
- 12:14Speaker 3: to it, So that could be a really good option
- 12:16Speaker 3: instead of borrowing cash from a friend. And often when
- 12:19Speaker 3: people are borrowing cash from friends, it's because they just
- 12:22Speaker 3: feel like they're rock in a hard place, right, They
- 12:24Speaker 3: just don't know what their options are. And no one
- 12:27Speaker 3: wants to ask their mate for a thousand bucks like
- 12:29Speaker 3: that makes you feel kind of bad. So you don't
- 12:31Speaker 3: want to be in a situation where that's happening. But
- 12:33Speaker 3: if a friend goes, all right, well mate, if you
- 12:35Speaker 3: need money, great, let's work it out. There are so
- 12:37Speaker 3: many options out there to support you. I would really
- 12:40Speaker 3: steer away from lending money to friends.
- 12:43Speaker 2: That's good advice. I got the kind of friend that
- 12:45Speaker 2: goes if you ever need anything, especially after like a
- 12:47Speaker 2: couple of you know, Voka Granbery's like, if you need anything,
- 12:50Speaker 2: if you're ever in a tight spot, I've got you.
- 12:52Speaker 2: And then when they actually come asking, I disappear like,
- 12:55Speaker 2: oh I can't. I mean, it's a bad spot.
- 12:56Speaker 3: On but it's so nice to be that friend that
- 12:59Speaker 3: can support, But what is going on here is actually
- 13:03Speaker 3: if they're in a bit of a pickle and you're
- 13:05Speaker 3: helping them out. It's kind of like the if you
- 13:07Speaker 3: give a fish to somebody, they'll eat for a day,
- 13:09Speaker 3: but if you teach them to fish, they'll fish for
- 13:11Speaker 3: a lifetime or whatever they.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Put on a teaching dot com.
- 13:16Speaker 3: It was a Bible quote, So we're not going to
- 13:18Speaker 3: go with that. I just know what. Just went to
- 13:19Speaker 3: Catholic school for twelve years. But it's one of those
- 13:22Speaker 3: things where it's like, can I actually teach you a skill?
- 13:24Speaker 3: Can I give you a bit more financial literacy? Like
- 13:27Speaker 3: if you need one thousand dollars, here's a better way
- 13:29Speaker 3: to do it, or here's a loan scheme that might
- 13:31Speaker 3: put you in the best possible position. I'd obviously try
- 13:34Speaker 3: and steer away from things that are like buy now,
- 13:36Speaker 3: pay later, because that's going to put people in a
- 13:38Speaker 3: worse off position. I'd also really steer away from recommending
- 13:42Speaker 3: they get a credit card because that could absolutely spiral
- 13:45Speaker 3: out of control. But what is in your breadth of control?
- 13:47Speaker 3: Like the National Debt Helpline has a whole heap of resources.
- 13:51Speaker 3: I would absolutely go down that route. And I know
- 13:52Speaker 3: this has gone a little bit more serious, but we've
- 13:55Speaker 3: all been asked for money at some point somehow from someone,
- 13:58Speaker 3: and I think actually serving back with education and going
- 14:00Speaker 3: all right, well, how are we going to do this? Like,
- 14:02Speaker 3: how am I going to put you in a better
- 14:04Speaker 3: position instead of just giving you the money so you
- 14:06Speaker 3: can continue a bad habits.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Well that's a lot better advice than what I had,
- 14:09Speaker 1: because I was just going to say, because that fits
- 14:14Speaker 1: perfectly with what we're going to do next here at
- 14:17Speaker 1: Shees on the Money radio show.
- 14:19Speaker 3: What have you seen recently on Facebook Marketplace that makes
- 14:22Speaker 3: you want to pick up the phone and go you're dreaming?
- 14:24Speaker 1: Hang on, mate, we've got this dreaming.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Well, let me just say I'll start by saying I
- 14:30Speaker 2: am a happy messenger. If someone is putting something on
- 14:32Speaker 2: Facebook Marketplace and they're hiking up the price, I'll message
- 14:34Speaker 2: them and I'll go, hey, mate, your dreaming. That's a
- 14:36Speaker 2: ridiculous price. Then I'll block them and disappear.
- 14:38Speaker 3: So can you planning on purchasing the item or you're
- 14:41Speaker 3: just inviting feedback?
- 14:43Speaker 1: Now?
- 14:44Speaker 2: The other other day, for a wooden giraffe was after
- 14:46Speaker 2: a one thousand parts, Mate, you are dreaming, she didn't
- 14:49Speaker 2: want to buy it. What would you pay for a
- 14:50Speaker 2: wooden giraffe?
- 14:51Speaker 1: Just quietly, if you're not dreaming, did.
- 14:53Speaker 3: You pay for a wooden that's right.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Right, it's a state of mind. But we have a
- 14:57Speaker 2: whole bunch that I found. I found this one.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Right.
- 14:58Speaker 2: This is a white iPhone six, sixty four gigabyte unlocked. Right,
- 15:02Speaker 2: this is three hundred bucks. It's the saying.
- 15:04Speaker 3: I'm not going to say I agree or disagree with that,
- 15:06Speaker 3: because I don't know what a white iPhone six is
- 15:08Speaker 3: actually worth.
- 15:09Speaker 2: That is like a ten year old phone.
- 15:11Speaker 3: Oh so that's not good? No, okay, bad deal. So
- 15:14Speaker 3: maybe just tell them their dream.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Dreamer?
- 15:18Speaker 3: What have you got, trav? I believe you found something
- 15:21Speaker 3: pretty gross?
- 15:22Speaker 1: Okay, so toothbrush. First of all, there's a whole lot
- 15:27Speaker 1: of questions to unpack there. But used only once, apparently
- 15:31Speaker 1: five bucks, stealing the original packaging. Mind you, price is
- 15:37Speaker 1: firm five bucks, not gonna move, No weirdos, weirdos.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Do you know what confuses me? It says used once,
- 15:44Speaker 3: but it's quite clearly still in the packet, Mate, is
- 15:47Speaker 3: that what you're selling it? Because you don't know how
- 15:48Speaker 3: to use a toothbrush.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Dream.
- 15:52Speaker 3: I'd also like to know what Trav's looking up me
- 15:56Speaker 3: get why?
- 15:56Speaker 2: Yeah, the algorithm knows that that man wants a toothbrush.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, what have you found, Victoria? Quick? Move on?
- 16:04Speaker 3: Well, actually, I was going to bring up a topic
- 16:06Speaker 3: that I think will trigger a few people, and that's
- 16:09Speaker 3: the topic of limited edition things that you got for
- 16:12Speaker 3: free at Kolsa Wooly. Yeah, but you know when you
- 16:14Speaker 3: got like those mini groceries or the ushy things. So
- 16:17Speaker 3: I looked up an ushy. I am going to sell
- 16:20Speaker 3: this to you, all right, Sit down, Traps, Sit down, Mitch.
- 16:22Speaker 3: We've got an ultra rare glitter woody ushy. Yeah, limited edition,
- 16:27Speaker 3: brand new mint condition, doesn't come with his packaging, but
- 16:30Speaker 3: he is fifteen hundred dollars. No what you got that
- 16:34Speaker 3: for free? So sit down. I also found another one, guys,
- 16:41Speaker 3: which I just think is a bit rich or maybe
- 16:43Speaker 3: a little bit niche. Right, So this is a Finding
- 16:45Speaker 3: Nemo stuffed toy. It is a really big one. It's
- 16:49Speaker 3: one meter long sixty five centimeters high according to the
- 16:52Speaker 3: original seller. It's also very cuddly, but it looks like
- 16:56Speaker 3: that one you got at the Melbourne show for free?
- 16:58Speaker 3: Why are you selling it to me for hundred and
- 17:00Speaker 3: fifty dollars?
- 17:03Speaker 1: Dreamer, They one hundred percent got that at moonber in
- 17:05Speaker 1: Melbourne because it says they're in Melbourne.
- 17:07Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, that was free. Why are you trying to
- 17:10Speaker 3: profit off a children's toy?
- 17:11Speaker 1: I mean, hey, you probably spent way over one hundred
- 17:14Speaker 1: and fifty bucks trying to win it, but still telling
- 17:17Speaker 1: me dreaming man right in the bin.
- 17:19Speaker 2: That's way more fun when we do it.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Anyway. Hey, Victoria, coming up next, we are going to
- 17:23Speaker 1: do Super Savior Saturday where you give us some sneaky
- 17:26Speaker 1: tips on how we can keep more bucks in our
- 17:28Speaker 1: bank account.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Saturday Tax Edition yet weeks Tosty.
- 17:35Speaker 3: This is my dream come true. Guys.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Wow, do you like tax tips? Victoria does?
- 17:40Speaker 3: She?
- 17:40Speaker 2: I guess Christmas for you would be like like and
- 17:43Speaker 2: a financial year.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Yeah. I just said tips.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Disgusting you like just a tip?
- 17:48Speaker 3: No, move on, I'm here for the tax tips. You're
- 17:52Speaker 3: talking about tax tips, right, I'm talking about tax tips.
- 17:54Speaker 2: It's first to people still say that happy epist.
- 17:56Speaker 1: We do only that annoying ad from like office works.
- 17:59Speaker 1: I think Sorry, it's.
- 18:00Speaker 3: Literally my favorite time of year, right, like end of
- 18:02Speaker 3: financial year is so fun? But also, do you want
- 18:05Speaker 3: to a hot tip about your favorite financial advisor, which
- 18:08Speaker 3: spoiler is me.
- 18:09Speaker 2: No, I don't, No, I want it. I want to
- 18:11Speaker 2: please he does.
- 18:12Speaker 3: My birthday is actually the thirtieth of June. Why wasn't
- 18:15Speaker 3: born to be a finance baby? I don't know what
- 18:17Speaker 3: I was born to do, and I might.
- 18:19Speaker 2: Need to leave I didn't know that.
- 18:21Speaker 3: I will send you through my birthday list later, but
- 18:23Speaker 3: before we get to my birthday list, like, how about
- 18:25Speaker 3: we go through a list of tax tips from Victoria Devine.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm down.
- 18:28Speaker 3: I'm down.
- 18:28Speaker 1: That's your birthday present from me, by the way, doing.
- 18:30Speaker 3: That, Oh, I get to do tax tips on my
- 18:32Speaker 3: own radio show. I am so grateful. I cannot wait.
- 18:36Speaker 3: So first things first, those of you who are turning
- 18:39Speaker 3: thirty one this June or anytime soon, you actually need
- 18:43Speaker 3: to get your health care in check if you're going
- 18:45Speaker 3: to get private health cover, and that is not something
- 18:49Speaker 3: that I'm here recommending going you need private health cover,
- 18:52Speaker 3: but if you earn over the threshold and you actually
- 18:55Speaker 3: earn more than ninety thousand dollars individually and you're over
- 18:59Speaker 3: the age of thirty, you could be absolutely slammed with
- 19:02Speaker 3: not only the Medicare levy surcharge, which you get for
- 19:04Speaker 3: being over ninety thousand dollars a year, but once you
- 19:08Speaker 3: go over the age of thirty one, you actually end
- 19:10Speaker 3: up paying even more. So now's the time to shine
- 19:13Speaker 3: my friends when it comes to private health cover.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Wow, most of my friends don't even have private health
- 19:17Speaker 2: I have it.
- 19:18Speaker 3: But I'm a financial advisor, Guys, I feel like I'm
- 19:20Speaker 3: very stereotypical, very vanilla. One time I lost a friendship
- 19:23Speaker 3: because she called me beije. I hope she's listening. Hey, Emily,
- 19:29Speaker 3: all right. Next is pre paying expenses. So this one
- 19:33Speaker 3: is more of a big saving, but you also have
- 19:36Speaker 3: to cough up a little bit of cash to make
- 19:38Speaker 3: the saving. So if you've got things that you're paying
- 19:40Speaker 3: like insurance, like you've got maybe income protection or something,
- 19:43Speaker 3: you can actually pre pay a year in advance and
- 19:46Speaker 3: then claim it on June thirty in this year's tax
- 19:47Speaker 3: retur It's kind of good money, but.
- 19:50Speaker 2: That requires a lot of pre thought. That's tough.
- 19:52Speaker 3: Yeah, that's tough. And it also requires you not to
- 19:55Speaker 3: pay month to month or like week to week. Yeah,
- 19:57Speaker 3: you've got to cough it up in advance, so it's
- 19:59Speaker 3: like a min you win, but like more of a
- 20:01Speaker 3: niche one for the rich people listening.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Like coffee now, don't worry about it later.
- 20:05Speaker 3: Yeah, Mitch can't do that, because.
- 20:06Speaker 2: I was going to say not, and I can't do that.
- 20:09Speaker 2: I can cook dinner, let alone pre plan the finances
- 20:11Speaker 2: would you us for.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Dinner if I came over all close? But that's all right,
- 20:18Speaker 3: that's fine. And the next Mitch, this one's really going
- 20:20Speaker 3: to be down your alley, is you can potentially claim
- 20:24Speaker 3: your handbag on tap.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Was an amazing bird. Yeah Saturday morning, mate.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Yeah, that's gold. Good gear from you.
- 20:34Speaker 3: You could I mean, you're not going to be able
- 20:36Speaker 3: to claim a Chanel bag, but like who can afford
- 20:38Speaker 3: a Shanel bag anyway? But if you have a bag
- 20:41Speaker 3: for work that carries like your work laptop and your
- 20:43Speaker 3: notebooks and stuff, and it's actually reasonably priced, you can
- 20:46Speaker 3: put it in as a work expense. Do you know
- 20:48Speaker 3: my favorite thing that people can potentially claim that's also
- 20:50Speaker 3: really niche? Dogs. I'm a dog if you're a lot,
- 20:54Speaker 3: yeah no, no, no, no, it needs to be working dog
- 20:57Speaker 3: but if you're like insecurity or in farming, like, that's
- 21:00Speaker 3: where I'm going with this. It's going to be she's
- 21:02Speaker 3: on the security, and then my dog, Lucy, the Golden
- 21:04Speaker 3: Sheeper Doodle. She's going to be security for everybody.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Lucy, Can you go get us some coffees as well
- 21:08Speaker 1: while you're at it?
- 21:09Speaker 2: Mate the Yeah, please please.
- 21:10Speaker 3: She knows the word coffee. She loves going to the cafe.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Yeah, just go pick us up some coffees while you're
- 21:15Speaker 1: at it. Lucy. All right, that is us done and dusted.
- 21:17Speaker 1: We're getting kicked out of this studio. Remember, you can
- 21:20Speaker 1: catch up with us anytime you want, just search. She's
- 21:23Speaker 1: on the money. Socials
