- 0:03Speaker 1: She's on The Money Radio Show with Victoria Divine starts now,
- 0:10Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to that. She's on The Money Radio
- 0:12Speaker 1: Show podcast, the podcast for millennials who want financial freedom.
- 0:16Speaker 1: You like that one, didn't you?
- 0:17Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 0:18Speaker 3: I like it? Well done?
- 0:19Speaker 4: Post the button?
- 0:22Speaker 1: You just like my mom?
- 0:24Speaker 5: Why?
- 0:24Speaker 1: I don't know, it just kind of feel like you know. Now,
- 0:28Speaker 1: you are a very nice lady.
- 0:29Speaker 3: And if Victoria is the mum, what am i?
- 0:31Speaker 1: You're the uncle that needs to get off his butt
- 0:33Speaker 1: and get himself a real job and sort his life out.
- 0:35Speaker 4: Well that's not really nice. Who would tell anybody to
- 0:39Speaker 4: get a real job?
- 0:40Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, thank you very much. When we can talk
- 0:41Speaker 3: into sticks for a living and make millions of dollars?
- 0:44Speaker 4: Oh are you making millions? Do we need to renegotiate
- 0:48Speaker 4: our contract?
- 0:48Speaker 1: Well?
- 0:49Speaker 3: Sorry, that's actually gravy on my contract.
- 0:51Speaker 6: Thought, because I was about to say, I thought we
- 0:55Speaker 6: did this out of goodwill. They have convinced me this
- 0:58Speaker 6: is a good thing for my brand.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Yeah, oh my god, it'll be good for your profile.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Thing is classic media right now. No, it's not gonna
- 1:06Speaker 1: be made anyway.
- 1:07Speaker 4: Brain exposure.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Yeah, the bathrooms on level three need a good cleaning.
- 1:11Speaker 3: It'll be great for your profile if you just jump
- 1:13Speaker 3: on in and j gift the toilets for us.
- 1:15Speaker 4: Hard no from me.
- 1:17Speaker 1: The funny thing about talking about your contract the image
- 1:20Speaker 1: is we actually had on the show today with our
- 1:23Speaker 1: money dilemma. Wendy wrote in and she was asking what's
- 1:26Speaker 1: the best way to get a pay rise? So maybe
- 1:28Speaker 1: she did she did, you're the person that we need
- 1:30Speaker 1: to talk to scrape Victoria's advice, and we need to
- 1:32Speaker 1: talk to you.
- 1:33Speaker 4: We had a Victoria no. We touched on it and
- 1:35Speaker 4: it was good. Oh, I reckon. It was a good episode.
- 1:37Speaker 6: But we did an entire episode on the podcast recently
- 1:40Speaker 6: about asking for a pay rise, So definitely if you
- 1:42Speaker 6: haven't listened.
- 1:43Speaker 4: To that, go back to it.
- 1:44Speaker 6: Because I feel like we all need to know our worth,
- 1:46Speaker 6: Like it pisces me off guys that we have friends
- 1:49Speaker 6: and family and even ourselves that are undervaluing ourselves or
- 1:53Speaker 6: don't have the confidence to ask for what we're worth,
- 1:55Speaker 6: Like it just makes sense.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Also, can I be honest, I was terrified to ask
- 2:00Speaker 3: for a pay rise, and then the moment I did
- 2:02Speaker 3: it was it was easy and my boss was expecting it.
- 2:05Speaker 3: The guys, they're not shocked, Like they're your boss. Their
- 2:08Speaker 3: job is to pay you, so they're always expecting you
- 2:10Speaker 3: to ask more money and the worst thing they can
- 2:12Speaker 3: do is say no.
- 2:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:13Speaker 3: We also do a which I think is funny, to
- 2:15Speaker 3: do a super Savier Saturday. So Victoria's got tips for us,
- 2:19Speaker 3: And we also do I think my favorite segment, tell
- 2:21Speaker 3: them they're dreaming, You've got to sing it.
- 2:24Speaker 6: Yeah, and we actually talk about dryalint, which is interesting.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Yeah, shocking. I don't know how we did it, but
- 2:31Speaker 3: we did.
- 2:31Speaker 1: We did. But the other thing is guilty pleasures, and
- 2:35Speaker 1: we didn't get much time to talk about this. What's
- 2:37Speaker 1: a guilty pleasure that you've actually bought in the last week?
- 2:39Speaker 4: Victoria's last week is six dollar?
- 2:41Speaker 1: Okay, what about you? Mitch?
- 2:43Speaker 3: I bought a four thousand dollars DJ set imported from
- 2:46Speaker 3: Milwaukee in the US.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Are you choking?
- 2:48Speaker 4: He is actually getting paid way more than us track?
- 2:51Speaker 1: How God, mate, how the hell did you get that?
- 2:57Speaker 3: Mate? I've got five radio shows okay, free Rich Rich.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Rich I bought those, Sorry, Mitch, Mitch Rich I love that,
- 3:06Speaker 1: Rich Mitch. My whole thing was Ben and Jerry's have
- 3:10Speaker 1: got like the salted topped Carol Brownie or that was
- 3:13Speaker 1: my guilty pleasure. But the only reason I bought it
- 3:16Speaker 1: was because it was half price at will It.
- 3:18Speaker 4: That's a money win. That is a money win, money win,
- 3:22Speaker 4: making money by buying that ice cream to be rude, not.
- 3:24Speaker 3: To money win on the fly when you get the
- 3:27Speaker 3: sale items at the checkout at the service station. I
- 3:30Speaker 3: always fall.
- 3:30Speaker 6: For that every time I actually end up buying gum
- 3:34Speaker 6: and lollies and stuff if I'm hungry.
- 3:36Speaker 3: It's the two for six gum deal. It's not even
- 3:38Speaker 3: a saving, it's just the same prices.
- 3:42Speaker 4: To actually really bad like it's a trap.
- 3:44Speaker 6: It's all about marketing, right, It's all about like psychology
- 3:47Speaker 6: and how they get you. It's white check out at
- 3:49Speaker 6: the supermarket. They always have lollies and chocolates. It's not
- 3:52Speaker 6: because they think you will want them. It's because they
- 3:54Speaker 6: know that your kid is standing there asking for it.
- 3:57Speaker 4: And it's like a dollar, right, So how do you
- 3:59Speaker 4: shut your up?
- 4:00Speaker 6: You just say, yeah, no problems, grab it, pop it
- 4:02Speaker 6: on the pop it in the trolley, and it's fine.
- 4:04Speaker 1: That's weird because I don't have a kid that I.
- 4:06Speaker 4: Know of, so still buy on the chocolates.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know what kid did anyone else's dad?
- 4:12Speaker 3: Maybe this is the dad thing, My dad did it?
- 4:14Speaker 3: Maybe a mom thing. They would as the checkout went
- 4:16Speaker 3: through and the items were being scanned, they would grab
- 4:19Speaker 3: a copy of Okay, your new idea and read it,
- 4:22Speaker 3: Oh my god, so quicky, and then put as if
- 4:26Speaker 3: their life depended on it, and then put it back
- 4:28Speaker 3: before it was time to pay.
- 4:29Speaker 4: Oh my god.
- 4:30Speaker 6: That has triggered some kind of memory in me that
- 4:34Speaker 6: reminds me of what it was like in like the
- 4:37Speaker 6: early two thousands to go big a checkout and feel anxious.
- 4:40Speaker 4: You know what was worse than that?
- 4:42Speaker 6: Though, Mitch or your mum was like, oh my god,
- 4:43Speaker 6: I forgot the milk, and then she'd leave you at
- 4:45Speaker 6: their checkout drink and you'd be like, oh my god,
- 4:49Speaker 6: what if she doesn't come back, and this checkout lady
- 4:51Speaker 6: thinks I can pay for it money?
- 4:54Speaker 3: What am I going to do?
- 4:55Speaker 4: My mom's not going to come back.
- 4:56Speaker 6: With the milk or the eggs or whatever she forgot
- 4:58Speaker 6: to put in the cart.
- 4:59Speaker 3: And they always take so much time, don't they take it?
- 5:02Speaker 4: Then you get there and your mum comes back and
- 5:04Speaker 4: it's fine.
- 5:06Speaker 3: Or they will ask you what Flybys?
- 5:07Speaker 6: You say, I don't know what fly I don't even
- 5:08Speaker 6: know My nine times tables don't even have Flybys.
- 5:12Speaker 4: I get asked all the time.
- 5:14Speaker 6: I feel like I'm missing out because Jess, who is
- 5:18Speaker 6: a co host of the actual she's on the Money podcast,
- 5:20Speaker 6: not this one.
- 5:21Speaker 4: It's just like the market.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Thanks mate, appreciate, You're welcome.
- 5:27Speaker 6: She saved up so many Flybys points that she bought
- 5:30Speaker 6: herself an entire kitchenaide stand mixer with the points.
- 5:34Speaker 1: I don't even know what that is, but it's I
- 5:36Speaker 1: do it too, so expensive great like money win.
- 5:41Speaker 4: I need to get myself a Flybys.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Cart just quickly. The whole magazine at the shopping thing.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Oh yeah, then we spoke about an hour ago.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, No. I just have to say this.
- 5:51Speaker 1: I think my mum, chrisy Roebuck, is single handedly keeping
- 5:54Speaker 1: New Idea and Women's Day in business because she's the
- 5:58Speaker 1: only one who ever reads that and buys it every
- 6:02Speaker 1: single week, and then she gives it to my sister
- 6:04Speaker 1: who reads it two weeks later, which is fantastic.
- 6:06Speaker 6: That's pretty good. That's getting a latter bank for bart
- 6:09Speaker 6: really is she? She should come on the show.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Can I give you a fun fact that I often
- 6:14Speaker 3: don't share, but on the front page of New Ideas
- 6:17Speaker 3: and the Okays the actors. You know, it's like my
- 6:19Speaker 3: dad was secret in my brother who at the end
- 6:21Speaker 3: of the day was my cousin. You know, the really
- 6:23Speaker 3: crazy headlines.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Yeah, you know how Mitch knows that she is because.
- 6:28Speaker 4: That's how he got that four thousand dollars DJ stuff.
- 6:32Speaker 1: She's on the Muney radio show coming out to you
- 6:34Speaker 1: right now.
- 6:35Speaker 5: This is She's on the Money radio.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Show Saturday morning round the country. This is she's on
- 6:40Speaker 1: the Money Radio Show with Australia's number one finance podcast
- 6:42Speaker 1: of Victoria Devine Mitstury as well. And it is time
- 6:46Speaker 1: to do this dream?
- 6:50Speaker 3: How good's a good yell? Just to get it out
- 6:52Speaker 3: of your system, so therapeutic, cathartic even.
- 6:54Speaker 1: And make people feel bad about themselves instead of you.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Right, Oh god, yeah, that's my lot.
- 7:00Speaker 4: That's so nasty. Do you know what really annoys me
- 7:03Speaker 4: about yelling?
- 7:04Speaker 6: Absolute side note? I sometimes get frustrated, right, like, no
- 7:08Speaker 6: want to have a hard shocked at me, shocking my
- 7:10Speaker 6: partner won't yell at me, like you know, when you're like,
- 7:12Speaker 6: oh my god, I can't.
- 7:13Speaker 4: Believe you did this. He's like, Okay, no problems, I'll
- 7:15Speaker 4: fix that. Like he's two level headed.
- 7:17Speaker 1: That's called being a door mat Steve sos.
- 7:19Speaker 4: Not, it's called being a good human.
- 7:21Speaker 1: And I am not one.
- 7:23Speaker 3: What this segment's about. And so it's when we've all
- 7:25Speaker 3: done it. We've all been scrolling through Facebook Marketplace looking
- 7:27Speaker 3: for a bargain, or you've gone app shopping and you go,
- 7:29Speaker 3: you know, I'm not going to buy it here. I'm
- 7:30Speaker 3: going to go to Facebook Marketplace and save one hundred dollars.
- 7:33Speaker 3: We get blown away by how much people think they're
- 7:36Speaker 3: junk is worth. That's why we're playing a tel and
- 7:38Speaker 3: they're dreaming. So we found five weird marketplace items, right, guys,
- 7:41Speaker 3: you all have one we did?
- 7:42Speaker 4: We did, Trav, you get to go first this week.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Oh well, I mean this is state of the art technology.
- 7:48Speaker 1: It's something this radio station probably still uses. In fact,
- 7:51Speaker 1: it might actually be this radio station that is selling this.
- 7:53Speaker 1: By the way, a Sanyo Beta VC good used. It
- 7:59Speaker 1: says good English in the title good used working condition.
- 8:04Speaker 1: How much would you pay for a Sanyo Beta VCR.
- 8:08Speaker 3: She's a VCR player.
- 8:10Speaker 4: You have videotapes.
- 8:11Speaker 1: It's essentially a video player.
- 8:14Speaker 4: Yeah ten bucks, Oh yeah, and we're on the same page.
- 8:16Speaker 1: It's worth ten bucks, all right, give me an extra
- 8:18Speaker 1: three hundred and forty because it's three hundred and fifty bucks.
- 8:23Speaker 1: But you know what, have a look at it that.
- 8:24Speaker 4: I actually need one of those. I'm not gonna lie.
- 8:27Speaker 6: I thought it'd be like ten bucks on Facebook Marketplace.
- 8:29Speaker 6: And you know what, I'm getting married at the end
- 8:31Speaker 6: of this year and my parents vide tape is still
- 8:34Speaker 6: on VCR and they said, oh my gosh, you should
- 8:37Speaker 6: watch this beforehand, and I low key won to because
- 8:39Speaker 6: it's like so nice. Right, we're going through wedding stuff.
- 8:42Speaker 6: I need a VC. I'm not paying three hundred and
- 8:43Speaker 6: fifty bucks.
- 8:44Speaker 4: Are you joking?
- 8:45Speaker 3: Too much money? What about this?
- 8:46Speaker 5: All of this?
- 8:46Speaker 3: I got okay, Apple MacBook Air original box, the box,
- 8:53Speaker 3: it's just the bus. But it's in the fancy shipping
- 8:55Speaker 3: This is there where it's fancy shipping cardboard bugs. It
- 8:57Speaker 3: says this was ordered online, so it comes with a
- 8:59Speaker 3: high quality got board box, which it was shipped in.
- 9:03Speaker 3: What do we think they're asking for that? It's it's
- 9:05Speaker 3: in Sydney.
- 9:06Speaker 6: Free pick up because it's rubbish and they just want
- 9:08Speaker 6: you to come and take it out of their house.
- 9:09Speaker 6: Maybe they're putting it on Facebook marketplace because it doesn't
- 9:11Speaker 6: fit in the bin.
- 9:12Speaker 1: That's a good point.
- 9:12Speaker 4: Yeah, how much for the most Yeah, I said free.
- 9:15Speaker 1: I'm going to say seven dollars.
- 9:17Speaker 3: Fifty bucks for the bus in a box?
- 9:21Speaker 4: Absolutely not.
- 9:23Speaker 1: I hope sometimes these people are taking the piers and
- 9:25Speaker 1: they are waiting for the one person to come up
- 9:27Speaker 1: and then just take them away and go. You, sir,
- 9:29Speaker 1: are crazy because you are willing to pay fifty bucks
- 9:31Speaker 1: for a box and get it.
- 9:32Speaker 3: I hope they listen to this radio show and I'm
- 9:34Speaker 3: just doing this for Victoria, Travin, Mitch. They've got content
- 9:37Speaker 3: on that I really appreciate it.
- 9:39Speaker 6: I've actually got two for you today. One of them
- 9:41Speaker 6: I kind of feel like they've done it to take
- 9:43Speaker 6: the mickey. The other I'm just confused about. So the
- 9:46Speaker 6: first one is lettuce. They have a bag of single
- 9:50Speaker 6: leaf iceberg lettuce. It's crisp and crunchy. It's from Woolies.
- 9:54Speaker 6: On the packet you can see in the photo. Two dollars.
- 9:56Speaker 4: What do you think they're selling it for? Oh my god,
- 9:58Speaker 4: what do you think they're trying.
- 9:59Speaker 1: To sell for with the prices, I am going to
- 10:03Speaker 1: say forty dollars.
- 10:05Speaker 6: No, five hundred. They are making a very good profit margin.
- 10:10Speaker 1: That's ridiculous, all right, but you said you had.
- 10:12Speaker 3: To I do.
- 10:13Speaker 6: This one came through my DMS earlier this week. This
- 10:16Speaker 6: one's from Queensland. I'm going to make you, guys guess
- 10:19Speaker 6: the price again. Here's a picture of it.
- 10:22Speaker 4: Do you know what that is? Trav No?
- 10:24Speaker 3: What is that? No?
- 10:25Speaker 4: Idea? All right?
- 10:26Speaker 1: So it's like some kind of a rabbit or a
- 10:28Speaker 1: cat in a bowl or something.
- 10:30Speaker 6: It is linked from my dryer about a year's worth.
- 10:33Speaker 6: How much is someone selling their dryer linked for guys?
- 10:38Speaker 3: Too much?
- 10:39Speaker 2: Well?
- 10:40Speaker 6: I mean I would just put that in the bin,
- 10:42Speaker 6: but I reckon, we're talking sense.
- 10:44Speaker 3: I think we're talking sense. They're after seventy five cents.
- 10:46Speaker 1: I think I'm going to say, because people are idiots,
- 10:49Speaker 1: five bucks?
- 10:49Speaker 4: No, two hundred and fifty dollar US.
- 10:52Speaker 1: How does that even say what the lint is from? Like,
- 10:55Speaker 1: if it's from much special edition yeezy, I know, Mitch
- 10:58Speaker 1: would probably be interesting.
- 10:59Speaker 4: Yeah, maybe they've been drying their CASHMI or something.
- 11:01Speaker 3: And sorry to send me that link.
- 11:04Speaker 4: I might be yes you later, but is that a
- 11:07Speaker 4: thing only it's a limp ball.
- 11:10Speaker 1: I was going to say, yeah, the only link I'm
- 11:12Speaker 1: doing is the chocolate version. But you know what, people
- 11:15Speaker 1: like to spend their money on the most random things.
- 11:18Speaker 1: So coming up next on the She's on the Money
- 11:21Speaker 1: Radio show, Let's do guilty pleasures. What is your guilty pleasure?
- 11:26Speaker 1: How much do you spend on that? Thirteen one, six
- 11:29Speaker 1: y five. We want to hear from you right now.
- 11:32Speaker 1: It's not the seventeen thousand dollars uber eats that you do, Mitch.
- 11:35Speaker 4: Is it a six dollar lae?
- 11:36Speaker 1: Yeah, it might be two hundred and fifty dollars in
- 11:40Speaker 1: who knows.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Don't you guilt shame people? Please? Everyone has very different
- 11:44Speaker 3: We're not.
- 11:45Speaker 4: Guilt shaming anybody.
- 11:46Speaker 6: We're all about embracing everybody's choices.
- 11:50Speaker 4: Some of them are better than others.
- 11:51Speaker 6: Though.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Thirteen to one I six five. Give us a call
- 11:53Speaker 1: right now, what's your guilty pleasure? And we will guilt
- 11:56Speaker 1: shame you. Next here on She's on the Money Radio Show.
- 12:00Speaker 5: She's on the Money Radio Show.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Saturday Morning, It's She's on the Money Radio show. Right

- 12:13Speaker 1: you mate?
- 12:14Speaker 3: Anyone got some deodor? And I'm I'm dancing up a
- 12:16Speaker 3: sweating here.
- 12:17Speaker 6: The wondering isn't gonna benefit you, It will benefit us exactly,
- 12:20Speaker 6: you know what.
- 12:21Speaker 1: But we are all here thanks to Budget Direct winn

- 12:33Speaker 6: have a few callers that have come through some stings.
- 12:36Speaker 4: Good ones. Play the sting so we can get through
- 12:38Speaker 4: that it.
- 12:38Speaker 3: Play it.
- 12:39Speaker 1: You guys aren't even my real mum and dad. Guilty
- 12:43Speaker 1: Pleasure thirty six five give us a call right now.
- 12:47Speaker 1: We want to hear what's that crazy thing that you know?
- 12:50Speaker 1: You go, oh, I probably shouldn't spend all my cash
- 12:52Speaker 1: on this, but.
- 12:53Speaker 3: It Yeah, mine's uber eats. Victoria.
- 12:55Speaker 4: What's yours coffee?
- 12:56Speaker 3: Yeah, a lot of cough, a lot of cough. What
- 12:58Speaker 3: about you, Belle?
- 12:59Speaker 1: What's your guilty pleasure?
- 13:00Speaker 2: Well, basically I only stay at hotels that have beautiful pools,
- 13:05Speaker 2: just so I can get a selfie to send to
- 13:07Speaker 2: my ex and make him jealous.
- 13:08Speaker 3: Oh and does it work?
- 13:13Speaker 6: Why are you still tuxting your ex? Do we need
- 13:15Speaker 6: to talk about this? Do you want to grab a coffee?
- 13:18Speaker 2: Absolutely not texting him, just putting it on Instagram and
- 13:21Speaker 2: I know who's working.
- 13:22Speaker 6: Yeah, you are all right, But I feel like that's
- 13:25Speaker 6: a good criteria to meet when you're going on holiday.
- 13:28Speaker 6: If I go on holiday like I'm off to Balley
- 13:30Speaker 6: like Mitch was last week, I want to go.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Let's power through, let's push.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:38Speaker 4: I feel like the pool is a place I spend
- 13:40Speaker 4: a lot of time. It's not a guilty pleasure. It's
- 13:42Speaker 4: just a smart woman.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Have you ever rocked up to one bell and it's
- 13:45Speaker 1: just like, this is not what it's said on the
- 13:46Speaker 1: box and it's just like a bath tub or something.
- 13:49Speaker 2: There was one and it just did not live up
- 13:52Speaker 2: to my photographic.
- 13:56Speaker 3: But hold on, bell, I'm confused. Is the goal to
- 13:59Speaker 3: convince people that you own a house with one hundred
- 14:01Speaker 3: different pools? People?
- 14:04Speaker 4: To convince people she can go on expensive holidays?
- 14:08Speaker 3: All right, all right, guilty pleasure, take it? Thank you?
- 14:10Speaker 3: Belle for your call.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 14:12Speaker 1: All right, we have Sasha now thirty one, I six five.
- 14:14Speaker 1: We're taking your calls on your guilty pleasure, Sasha, what's yours?
- 14:18Speaker 2: My guilty pleasure is? Nanoblock is basically like this teeny
- 14:24Speaker 2: tiny lego that you use teasers to assemble, like little
- 14:30Speaker 2: display models of things. And it started out as I
- 14:34Speaker 2: was at a bookshop and there was this little nanoblock
- 14:36Speaker 2: thing and I bought it. It was like fifteen bucks.
- 14:39Speaker 2: I got addicted. I don't know, I must have been
- 14:40Speaker 2: going through something in my life. And I've now moved
- 14:43Speaker 2: up to full like two hundred and fifty dollars mini
- 14:47Speaker 2: city replicas, and I have two. I have London and
- 14:51Speaker 2: I have Paris.
- 14:52Speaker 6: Oh my god, I'm impressed because I would get so
- 14:58Speaker 6: frustrated at that I just couldn't do it.
- 15:01Speaker 2: That's part of it. You sit and you're like oh,
- 15:04Speaker 2: and then you finally get it and it's amazing.
- 15:06Speaker 6: My ADHD could never So how much have you spent
- 15:09Speaker 6: on this, Sasha?
- 15:10Speaker 2: So it's two hundred and fifty dollars for a full city. No,
- 15:14Speaker 2: keep in mind that the city it moves so like
- 15:18Speaker 2: the London Eye in the London, like it's an actual
- 15:20Speaker 2: little revolving circle. Bits.
- 15:24Speaker 3: You're here to promote it us some time, and right
- 15:28Speaker 3: now you can get London and Shanghai for the good
- 15:30Speaker 3: price twelve five hundred off. It's not a guilty pleasure,
- 15:34Speaker 3: it's a guilty plug, drop her trap.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Whatever that was guilty pleasures. We're going to do that
- 15:38Speaker 1: again soon. I love that segment.
- 15:40Speaker 4: I love that segment.
- 15:41Speaker 3: It's so much fun.
- 15:42Speaker 4: What do you do with these little cities once you've
- 15:43Speaker 4: got them?
- 15:44Speaker 1: I thought she said Nana block and then I was like,
- 15:46Speaker 1: what is that?
- 15:47Speaker 6: But I thought she was going to talk to us
- 15:48Speaker 6: about crypto, and it was about to be like, get.
- 15:50Speaker 3: Off my show. Anyway.
- 15:51Speaker 1: If you've got a money dilemma, you're struggling with your
- 15:54Speaker 1: cash flow, probably from buying too much crypto. If you
- 15:56Speaker 1: need some advice, you can hear us up right now
- 15:58Speaker 1: at She's on the Money Social Mitch. Who's hit us
- 16:01Speaker 1: up this week?
- 16:01Speaker 3: Wendy? And you know, for someone named Wendy to hit
- 16:04Speaker 3: us up online, you know it's it takes a while
- 16:06Speaker 3: to log up on the computer.
- 16:07Speaker 4: And get on loves the name Wendy. It reminds me of.
- 16:11Speaker 3: Yeah, but you just know Wendy's not at UNI. You
- 16:13Speaker 3: know what I mean. Wendy's Wendy's on a probos bus tour. Yeah,
- 16:18Speaker 3: but potentially she wants to know, how do I ask? Actually,
- 16:21Speaker 3: I'll do it in Wendy's voice, how do I ask
- 16:23Speaker 3: for a pay rise?
- 16:24Speaker 1: Wendy sounds just like Victoria Divine.
- 16:27Speaker 4: You guys are so nice to me.
- 16:28Speaker 3: Victoria.
- 16:31Speaker 1: That's coming up next on She's on the Money radio show.
- 16:33Speaker 4: I believe it's Vicky d This is.
- 16:35Speaker 1: She's on the Money radio show Saturday morning. She's on
- 16:38Speaker 1: The Money Radio Show with Australia's number one finance podcast
- 16:41Speaker 1: of Victoria Devine. Mitch Curry as well, we're doing High.
- 16:45Speaker 1: You were doing Victoria and your voice is there, Mitch
- 16:47Speaker 1: because they were very similar.
- 16:49Speaker 4: He's trying, you don't even need me.
- 16:53Speaker 3: Now is Victoria or the High?
- 16:55Speaker 5: Who is the yup?
- 16:58Speaker 1: I want you to do this segment as Victoria, Mitch,
- 17:01Speaker 1: because we're doing this.
- 17:02Speaker 4: Press the button.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Thank you, Captain of he is. I almost forgot Each.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Week we bring you someone's fine. Actually dog down, Lucy
- 17:15Speaker 3: hold on? Can someone call reception? The Chanel deliveries here?
- 17:19Speaker 4: Yeah, Chanel don't deliver come on now, sit down.
- 17:22Speaker 3: Sorry, let's get to the money dilemma. Okay, so this
- 17:24Speaker 3: is uh.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Doing Victoria's voice. Oh, actually he did, so.
- 17:30Speaker 3: That's meaning the what I did, Victoria. Oh, okay. Wendy
- 17:33Speaker 3: posted on the Shoes on the Money Facebook community group
- 17:35Speaker 3: about asking for a pay rise. So this is what
- 17:37Speaker 3: she says. Wendy asks, I've been telling my partner for
- 17:39Speaker 3: many years that he's underpaid and should be asking for
- 17:42Speaker 3: a pay rise, but he never does, and it drives
- 17:44Speaker 3: me nuts. He was painfully shy when we met, just
- 17:47Speaker 3: come out of his shell, which is great. However, when
- 17:49Speaker 3: we have a conversation about it, he shuts down completely.
- 17:51Speaker 3: I'm wondering if there is something that will make him
- 17:54Speaker 3: click to ask for that pay rise. Good question, Victoria, Oh.
- 17:57Speaker 4: This is not the way I thought you'd ask this question.
- 18:00Speaker 4: It's usually I.
- 18:00Speaker 6: Want a pay rise? How do I ask? I feel
- 18:03Speaker 6: like there's a lot going on there, right. Obviously, confidence
- 18:06Speaker 6: is a really big part of asking for a pay rise,
- 18:09Speaker 6: but it's all about knowing your worth. Like we need
- 18:11Speaker 6: to know our worth and to do that when it
- 18:13Speaker 6: comes to asking for a pay rise. There are a
- 18:15Speaker 6: few things we can do to be a bit more confident.
- 18:18Speaker 6: So firstly, we can look at our job description and
- 18:20Speaker 6: what we're being paid, and do a little bit of
- 18:22Speaker 6: Google searching and see what other jobs that fit that
- 18:25Speaker 6: criteria are actually paying, so that we know we're either
- 18:28Speaker 6: on the mark, or we're under, or we're over, so we.
- 18:31Speaker 4: Get a good idea of what the market's doing. The
- 18:33Speaker 4: second thing we do is look at our job description
- 18:36Speaker 4: and what we actually.
- 18:37Speaker 6: Do, because often those true things differ a little bit.
- 18:39Speaker 6: Like we'll have our job description, but then if we've
- 18:41Speaker 6: been there for a few years, we might have taken
- 18:43Speaker 6: on a number of other responsibilities, Like someone might have
- 18:46Speaker 6: left and you might have absorbed some of their job,
- 18:48Speaker 6: and now you're actually performing in a completely different capacity
- 18:51Speaker 6: and that might need to be remunerated differently. It's not
- 18:55Speaker 6: necessarily about the above and beyond. I know that a
- 18:57Speaker 6: lot of people will be like, but I put so
- 18:59Speaker 6: much energy and effort into my job, and it's like, well, yeah,
- 19:01Speaker 6: but your.
- 19:01Speaker 4: Boss is going to expect that.
- 19:03Speaker 6: So let's sit down and go all right, well, what
- 19:06Speaker 6: is this job actually worth and how does this work.
- 19:09Speaker 6: One of the things that I really like, not a
- 19:10Speaker 6: sponsored plug, but something that has been really handy for
- 19:13Speaker 6: my clients and I is.
- 19:15Speaker 4: The Hayes Salary Guide.
- 19:16Speaker 6: If you just google the Hayes Salary Guide, it will
- 19:18Speaker 6: pop up, and for me, that's one of the most
- 19:20Speaker 6: comprehensive guides I can find that benchmarks different salaries so
- 19:24Speaker 6: that you can actually take something and have some research.
- 19:27Speaker 6: When you sit down with your boss and go I
- 19:29Speaker 6: want to pay rise, you can go because I know
- 19:32Speaker 6: the market pays this in this location, So I think
- 19:35Speaker 6: we also need to sit down and go all right, well,
- 19:37Speaker 6: why do I deserve this?
- 19:38Speaker 4: Like if I was my boss, what would be those blockers?
- 19:41Speaker 6: What are the things that my boss would say no,
- 19:43Speaker 6: Like I can't afford it, or I can't do this,
- 19:45Speaker 6: or I can't do that.
- 19:46Speaker 4: Write down all of those.
- 19:47Speaker 6: So when you approach your boss, you can say, hey,
- 19:50Speaker 6: I'd love to have a chat to you about my remuneration.
- 19:53Speaker 6: Never just waltz into their office with a whole heap
- 19:55Speaker 6: of papers and be like, we need to talk about
- 19:57Speaker 6: my pay.
- 19:58Speaker 4: Organize the time to sit down.
- 20:00Speaker 6: Can also adequately prepare themselves big a time that they
- 20:03Speaker 6: won't be too stressed. We did some research in the
- 20:05Speaker 6: Sheets on the Money community. We find that Thursday is
- 20:08Speaker 6: the perfect day to usk O pay us because it's
- 20:10Speaker 6: not the start of the week when people are really stressed.
- 20:12Speaker 6: It's not Friday when people are just trying to get
- 20:14Speaker 6: out the door. Gives them enough time to think about it.
- 20:17Speaker 6: But from my perspective, it's all about research. And another
- 20:20Speaker 6: hot tip that has been happening in my community has
- 20:23Speaker 6: been an email folder. So keep an email folder in
- 20:27Speaker 6: your emails. So when you get good feedback or things
- 20:30Speaker 6: that you think you've done really well, take a copy
- 20:32Speaker 6: of that email. Drop it into that folder so that
- 20:35Speaker 6: when you go to talk to your boss, you're not
- 20:36Speaker 6: just putting research in front of them, You're putting proof
- 20:39Speaker 6: in front of them. Because all of us are usually
- 20:42Speaker 6: terrible at blowing our own trumpets. But if we get
- 20:45Speaker 6: good feedback and then we're like, oh my gosh, I
- 20:47Speaker 6: know I got some good feedback throughout the year, where
- 20:49Speaker 6: is it? It's usually really hard to find, not if
- 20:51Speaker 6: you have a folder of it, So can you track
- 20:54Speaker 6: of it?
- 20:54Speaker 4: Make sure that you're taking to.
- 20:55Speaker 6: Your boss a very reasonable explanation of why you might
- 20:59Speaker 6: deserve that. It can actually be a very pragmatic conversation.
- 21:03Speaker 6: And I think if we can peel our emotions. Away
- 21:05Speaker 6: from that, it's what is the job that I'm doing
- 21:08Speaker 6: today worth? How do I articulate what it could be
- 21:11Speaker 6: worth or should be worth? And then how do I
- 21:13Speaker 6: sit down and have an educated conversation with my boss
- 21:17Speaker 6: where they basically can't say no.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Great tips? All right, if you want to get in
- 21:20Speaker 1: touch with us, just search. She's on the Money on socials,
- 21:23Speaker 1: Isn't that right, Victoria Devine.
- 21:24Speaker 6: Type us into any social media platform when we're there.
- 21:26Speaker 6: Don't promise it's good on TikTok though. Terrible content there.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Great content though. Coming up next super save as Saturday, Victoria,
- 21:33Speaker 1: You're going to give us some sneaky little tips on
- 21:35Speaker 1: how we can keep more bucks in our bank account.
- 21:37Speaker 1: That's coming up next on She's on the Money radio show.
- 21:40Speaker 5: This is She's on the Money radio.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Show Saturday morning right across this country of ours. It's
- 21:45Speaker 1: She's on the Money radio show with Australia's number one
- 21:48Speaker 1: finance podcast of Victoria Divine, Mitch Cheery as well. And guys,
- 21:52Speaker 1: we're doing all thanks to Budget Direct. Winn're of can
- 21:54Speaker 1: Stars Insurer of the Year Award twenty twenty two. Budget
- 21:58Speaker 1: Direct Insurance Solved. But it's time for this simple save
- 22:02Speaker 1: a Saturday. Yeah, every single week, Victoria, you give us
- 22:05Speaker 1: some sneaky little tips on Yeah, they definitely are. It's
- 22:09Speaker 1: kind of like, oh, I shouldn't know about this, but
- 22:12Speaker 1: I do.
- 22:12Speaker 4: It's not you shouldn't know. You deserve to know. That's
- 22:14Speaker 4: why we're telling you.
- 22:15Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I mean.
- 22:16Speaker 1: It's like we shouldn't know because some people are trying
- 22:18Speaker 1: to keep it a secret, but we're telling you, and
- 22:20Speaker 1: it's like you're part of some little secret club.
- 22:22Speaker 4: Yeah, have a little bit of a money win. I've
- 22:23Speaker 4: got a money win.
- 22:24Speaker 6: I'm going to save to the very last, which I
- 22:26Speaker 6: know is going to impact a lot of people around
- 22:28Speaker 6: Australia at different amounts. But this is a two hundred
- 22:30Speaker 6: and fifty dollars money win for Victorians. So that's very good.
- 22:34Speaker 6: But first, cab off the rank guys, generic brand prescription medication.
- 22:38Speaker 3: I've just discovered this at Yeah, because we've just discovered
- 22:42Speaker 3: that my partner has anaphylactic he's actually allergic to COVID.
- 22:45Speaker 3: It's a long story.
- 22:46Speaker 6: Oh my gosh, I remember you telling us this. This
- 22:49Speaker 6: is crazy, Like imagine being hit with that stick.
- 22:53Speaker 3: That's awful, I know. So he needs EpiPens, right, So
- 22:56Speaker 3: EpiPens are so expensive, and there's a whole discussion we
- 22:58Speaker 3: could have on those being made cheaper. But we got
- 23:01Speaker 3: the generic brand epipan, which I didn't even know you
- 23:03Speaker 3: could do. It was half the price.
- 23:05Speaker 6: Feel like it's something that a lot of us have
- 23:07Speaker 6: been asked, right, Like you go to fill a prescription
- 23:10Speaker 6: and the chemist will say, hey, do you want the
- 23:12Speaker 6: generic one, and you're like, oh no, Like, just give me.
- 23:14Speaker 4: What the doctor prescribe.
- 23:16Speaker 6: I was talking to my pharmacist the other day when
- 23:18Speaker 6: in the middle of the day and he was having
- 23:20Speaker 6: a bit of a chat with me, and it's exactly
- 23:22Speaker 6: the same medication, like same active ingredients, same everything. It
- 23:27Speaker 6: just comes in a different box and it's a lot cheaper.
- 23:29Speaker 6: And he was saying he doesn't understand why everyone just
- 23:32Speaker 6: doesn't default to that, because he's.
- 23:34Speaker 4: Like, why do you need a name brand? What are
- 23:35Speaker 4: you going to do?
- 23:36Speaker 1: Because people just hate budget marketing.
- 23:38Speaker 4: Yeah, but you're not getting a subpar product.
- 23:41Speaker 6: It's basically identical in a different wrapping, which I think
- 23:43Speaker 6: is really important to take into consideration.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Yeah, agreally know. Unless we were listening to the Shees
- 23:48Speaker 1: on the Money radio show, Save a Saturday Man, hit
- 23:51Speaker 1: me with tip two.
- 23:51Speaker 6: Baby, guys, everybody has that thing in their house that
- 23:55Speaker 6: they just don't use.
- 23:57Speaker 4: Sell your unused items.
- 23:59Speaker 6: We drag Facebook marketplace a little bit, so probably be
- 24:02Speaker 6: really reasonable about what you're popping online. Otherwise you might
- 24:05Speaker 6: find yourself on the show. But sell your unused items.
- 24:08Speaker 6: If you're not using that keyboard because you bought it
- 24:10Speaker 6: and you thought you were going to teach yourself piano,
- 24:12Speaker 6: pop it off, chuck it online, get rid of it,
- 24:16Speaker 6: turn it into cash.
- 24:17Speaker 4: Use that cash to.
- 24:18Speaker 6: Pump up your emergency fund, or invest or save, or
- 24:22Speaker 6: even just take yourself out for a little date. But
- 24:25Speaker 6: I just think it's so important to always be looking
- 24:29Speaker 6: for ways to find some extra cash now homes. And
- 24:31Speaker 6: I'm putting that tip in there because I actually need
- 24:33Speaker 6: to take that myself.
- 24:34Speaker 3: What do you have, Victoria, What do you have line
- 24:36Speaker 3: around that you could sell?
- 24:37Speaker 6: I've got a treadmill, Like I bought a treadmill during COVID,
- 24:40Speaker 6: but I bought one of those like flat treadmills, the
- 24:42Speaker 6: walking pads.
- 24:45Speaker 3: Yes you watch TV and stand at the desk and
- 24:47Speaker 3: do it.
- 24:47Speaker 6: Yes, yes, so I thought i'd do that, but I
- 24:49Speaker 6: haven't used it, so this is my kick up the
- 24:51Speaker 6: bottom to either sell it or start using it.
- 24:54Speaker 3: Or you could repurpose it as an at home sushi
- 24:56Speaker 3: train and put it in.
- 24:59Speaker 6: Wow, he just throws food at the wall because it's
- 25:02Speaker 6: like it doesn't go round in a circle.
- 25:04Speaker 3: On Speed one Victoria Speed one.
- 25:06Speaker 6: Or I could get really lazy and put my dog
- 25:08Speaker 6: on it instead of going for walks.
- 25:11Speaker 4: She'd do it.
- 25:12Speaker 1: You leave Lucy alone. Your Bully fIF.
- 25:15Speaker 4: Three again not sponsored.
- 25:16Speaker 6: It's actually a government initiative that's going on is the
- 25:19Speaker 6: two hundred and fifty power saving bonus that is a
- 25:22Speaker 6: one off two hundred and fifty dollars cash back if
- 25:25Speaker 6: you upload in Victoria a copy of your energy bill,
- 25:28Speaker 6: and a heap of people in the Shees on the
- 25:30Speaker 6: money community have been doing this. You pop online, you
- 25:33Speaker 6: go to the Compared dot energy dot victor gov dot
- 25:36Speaker 6: au website, you upload a copy of your energy bill. Bam,
- 25:39Speaker 6: two hundred and fifty bucks back in your account. It
- 25:41Speaker 6: doesn't even have to be a two hundred and fifty
- 25:43Speaker 6: dollars bill. It's just a flat payout free money. And
- 25:47Speaker 6: last year they had it, but it was only for
- 25:49Speaker 6: concession cardholders.
- 25:51Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 25:51Speaker 6: Now it's gone, everybody and their dog can get their
- 25:53Speaker 6: two hundred and fifty bucks back.
- 25:56Speaker 3: Lucy, Yeah, what a deal.
- 26:00Speaker 6: Lucy's sleep under the desk. She's so sick of our stuff.
- 26:04Speaker 6: She's just like, can you get me out of here?
- 26:05Speaker 3: Guys?
- 26:06Speaker 6: I want to go to brunch. I know how this works.
- 26:08Speaker 6: I come record, then my mum takes me to get megs.
- 26:10Speaker 1: It's funny because that's what we can do, Victoria, but
- 26:12Speaker 1: mix Chury can't. You are doing Brittain Laura the Life
- 26:16Speaker 1: on Cut radio show.
- 26:17Speaker 3: I'm not doing Britain Laura. How dee. They're both very
- 26:19Speaker 3: respectful women. They wouldn't do me.
- 26:22Speaker 4: Okay, well you're going to go do their show? Is
- 26:24Speaker 4: that better?
- 26:25Speaker 3: Thank you show?
- 26:26Speaker 1: All right, that's coming up straight after the news. We're
- 26:29Speaker 1: out of here. We'll be back next week. In the meantime,
- 26:31Speaker 1: if you want to catch up with this, just search.
- 26:33Speaker 1: She's on the money on Socials. But until then, we'll
- 26:35Speaker 1: see you next week.
- 26:36Speaker 4: See them by you
