- 0:07issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:10hypnotherapist, demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:14royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:42Hi, it's Adam here. And in this hypnosis session,
- 0:45you're going to be listening to a metaphorical session designed
- 0:51to tackle a behaviour that would be linked to low self worth.
- 0:56And I see this a lot in the clients that I work with that
- 1:00are addicted to something. And normally the addiction comes
- 1:05about because there was a time in their life where whatever
- 1:09that thing was made them feel. Better.
- 1:13And maybe that. Was a substance or alcohol or
- 1:17food? Or a behaviour.
- 1:19But there was a time that actually it was helpful, it was
- 1:23useful, but now it's become ingrained to the point that when
- 1:28they feel certain things could be.
- 1:30Stress, anxiety, boredom, loneliness.
- 1:33It leads to replaying of that particular behaviour.
- 1:39And in. Doing so that can lead to
- 1:41feelings of low self worth, and the low self worth comes from
- 1:46the knowledge that one, this isn't really helping, it's just
- 1:50a substitute, and secondly, that they are capable of living up to
- 1:55a higher standard. So if you're feeling low self
- 1:59worth linked to a behavior, maybe there's shame connected to
- 2:03it, maybe there's frustration or irritation.
- 2:06Connected to it. It's a clue that you're falling
- 2:09below your standards, and this session uses a metaphor of a
- 2:14parasite. And parasites are normally
- 2:18creatures that live inside or on a host.
- 2:22So sometimes you get parasites on the, on the outside.
- 2:27So if you think of a flea on a dog, it's on the outside of the,
- 2:31of the animal. But sometimes you have parasites
- 2:33on the inside, like intestinal worms.
- 2:36And they, they feed on whatever the host consumes.
- 2:40They kind of feed on that. And sometimes, you know,
- 2:43internal organs and, and horrible things like that.
- 2:46The reason it works as a metaphor is because it's linked
- 2:51to disgust. It's something perceived as
- 2:53very. Undesirable and that.
- 2:55Unlocks the motivation to think I will do whatever it takes to
- 2:59remove this parasite. This is not a physical parasite,
- 3:04it's an emotional parasite and it's a parasite that is aiming
- 3:09to do something positive, but in doing so creates something awful
- 3:13for the individual, particularly if it erodes self esteem and
- 3:15confidence and, and all of those kind of things.
- 3:18And sometimes there can be a financial or an emotional or a
- 3:22time penalty for whatever the behaviour is.
- 3:26So in this hypnosis session, I encourage the client that it was
- 3:30created for to consider how they meet the underlying need in a
- 3:35more elegant way. The underlying need for this was
- 3:39connection stimulation and real experiences.
- 3:44You know, stimulation mainly so by them seeking out real
- 3:49stimulation that could be physical stimulation like
- 3:51exercise, intellectual stimulation like learning
- 3:55something new, sensory stimulation like a cold shower
- 3:59or being out in nature. These are kind of things that
- 4:02would enable them to meet the same need without needing to go
- 4:06back to this addiction or behavior.
- 4:09I think if you really want to create a change that is doing
- 4:12something to your confidence levels and self worth, you'll
- 4:15get some value from this. It was created for an individual
- 4:19though, so therefore not all of the suggestions are going to
- 4:22make sense for you. The metaphor might not map
- 4:25across entirely, so if you do like the idea of working with me
- 4:29directly, there will be a link in the description where you can
- 4:32schedule a completely free consultation call to explore
- 4:35working with me. For now though.
- 4:37Find a quiet, comfortable place where you won't be.
- 4:40Disturbed, relax and enjoy the session.
- 5:33Take a deep breath in and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 5:43resourceful and relaxation. And as you exhale, feel a
- 5:54wonderful sense of release, the tension, stress and worries can
- 6:03start to leave your body in that outward breath.
- 6:09That's it. Breathing in relaxation,
- 6:12exhaling tension, enabling you to drift to that place.
- 6:21A wonderful place where you get to go deeper and deeper into a
- 6:30part of your subconscious where powerful, profound changes.
- 6:39Can take place. Naturally and permanently.
- 6:48So as you. Breathe in and breathe out.
- 6:52Allow your body to feel like it's getting more and the more
- 6:59relaxed and the deeper relaxed you
- 7:11become, the deeper you breathe. And because you're breathing
- 7:19deeper, you can feel even more relaxed, breathing in that
- 7:26resourceful relaxation and continuing to exhale that
- 7:33tension, stress, and worries. Breathing in and breathing out,
- 7:52each breath taking you deeper and deeper into a place of
- 7:58safety, clarity and empowerment. Letting go with each exhale.
- 8:10Just feel your body relaxing around your jaw, your neck, and
- 8:18your shoulders, just releasing echoes of tension, as though old
- 8:27habits are drifting away like leaves on a stream or clouds in
- 8:33the sky. And I'd like you to imagine
- 8:44place in beautiful nature, maybe a forest, a lake, a beach, or a
- 8:55mountain. Feel the freshness, sense of
- 9:05clarity that you're breathing in that fresh air.
- 9:12But I want you to imagine something odd.
- 9:17Imagine an old door just hovering there, not connected to
- 9:29a building, just a door and a frame there in nature.
- 9:35I'm going to countdown from 5:00 to 1:00 and you will imagine
- 9:43walking through the door and on the other side of the door will
- 9:51be an impressive spiral staircase that you're standing
- 9:58at the top of, but that's on the other side of the door.
- 10:05For now, let's walk through the door from nature to the
- 10:09staircase Five. Imagine putting your hand on the
- 10:15handle, 4 turning the handle, 3 opening the door, 2 walking
- 10:22through the door, and one closing the door behind you.
- 10:28And now you're no longer in nature.
- 10:31You're at the top of a descending, winding spiral
- 10:36staircase. Each step down the staircase is
- 10:43taking you deeper and deeper into your subconscious mind, the
- 10:50very place where change happens, where old patterns dissolve and
- 10:59a new identity emerges. That's it.
- 11:07Imagine walking down, deep down, and each step down the staircase
- 11:15takes you deeper and deeper. Relaxed breathing deeper,
- 11:20exhaling for longer. Muscles relax in your forehead,
- 11:25your jaw, your neck, and your shoulders.
- 11:27Keep walking down that staircase, arms feeling limp,
- 11:33loose and heavy. So heavy.
- 11:35That's in breathing from your diaphragm.
- 11:39Now keep walking down the staircase, deeper and deeper
- 11:43down, legs feeling limp, loose heavy internal organs starting
- 11:50to relax, and you become aware of a sensation in your gut.
- 12:00Your intestines ignore that sensation and can carry on
- 12:06walking down the staircase. Until you get.
- 12:09Right to the bottom. Imagine the basement of your
- 12:20subconscious mind. And deep in the shadows of your
- 12:25subconscious, I'd like you to imagine a creature, a parasite,
- 12:37something that slithered in long ago.
- 12:44Many parasites. Are hidden.
- 12:47Away in something desirable, hidden in delicious food.
- 12:54And maybe this parasite, an emotional parasite, found its
- 13:02way in in something that seemed fascinating, desirable,
- 13:10alluring, something from your childhood.
- 13:17Imagine it found its way in to the very gut of your sense of
- 13:24self worth and use the power of your imagination to imagine a
- 13:33disgusting, bloated, long, slimy intestinal worm.
- 13:44But this worm does not feed on your food or your body, but on
- 13:51your value, your integrity, your own standards and self respect.
- 14:02And every now and then it whispers to you through your
- 14:05intuition, encouraging you to seek out fabricated connection,
- 14:16synthetic pleasure, cheap pixelated illusions of intimacy.
- 14:28And maybe it hijacks real emotions like stress and
- 14:33overwhelm. Maybe you hear it as an inner
- 14:39dialogue voice. Maybe it says go on.
- 14:47It encourages you to look on a device.
- 14:49And we know it erodes and feeds on yourself worth.
- 14:56Because there is secrecy, something you hide.
- 15:02There is shame connected. Maybe it toys with your
- 15:08emotions, saying that you deserve it, telling you that no
- 15:12one will know, urging you to do it just one more time.
- 15:22But each time you listen, it grows stronger.
- 15:29And that version of you that is full of pride, self esteem and
- 15:34self respect grows dimmer. And when you allow the parasite
- 15:45to persuade you, to manipulate you, the clue is the irritation
- 15:53and the low self worth that follows echoes of shame, a sense
- 16:02that you've slipped below your own standards.
- 16:09But that's not weakness, that's your true self trying to scream
- 16:15through the noise. The irritation is not with other
- 16:20people, it's with you. Your unconscious knows you're
- 16:26capable of better, more, that you deserve real stimulation or
- 16:34real connection. There is a battle within you, a
- 16:45part of you that knows yourself worth and the parasite that
- 16:52tries to lower it. And the part that knows your
- 16:56worth is trying to wake you up, to fight back.
- 17:04Because this parasite, this disgusting worm like creature
- 17:11only survives on fake stimulation, endless scrolling,
- 17:19mindless urges, disconnected screens.
- 17:29There. Is a way.
- 17:29To kill this parasite, everything has an Achilles heel.
- 17:42What this? Parasite can't stand is high
- 17:46standards and real stimulation. It can't digest that.
- 17:56It's a poison to it. What it chokes on and suffocates
- 18:02on is real life. I want you to imagine starving
- 18:12that parasite of low self worth. No matter how hard it tries, you
- 18:20simply stop feeding it unlike anything that feels like it's
- 18:26very existence is threatened. Maybe it tries harder, but the
- 18:35harder it tries, the more you're determined and resolute in your
- 18:45desire to remove it. And there's many ways that you
- 18:53can poison or starve this parasite.
- 19:04You could go for a run or a jog, a long hike.
- 19:11When you feel the oxygen in your lungs, the muscles firing, that
- 19:16parasite recoils. When you hug someone you care
- 19:23about, when you feel that warmth connection, it burns the
- 19:34parasite. And when you learn something
- 19:40new, when you feed your mind, that intellectual fire scorches
- 19:50it from the inside, and when you sit with someone eye to eye, not
- 19:58for validation but mindful connection, the parasite gets
- 20:05weaker. And each time, each time you
- 20:12ignore the whisper, you starve it.
- 20:17You are reclaiming yourself worth.
- 20:22You're reclaiming your time, your energy, your value.
- 20:28All along you've craved something real.
- 20:35And this parasite, it's just an echo from your childhood, at a
- 20:43time when a poor quality substitute felt somehow
- 20:50valuable, but it was only meant to be a stepping stone to real
- 20:55experiences. Not a fortress you retreat to,
- 21:03but a stepping stone you never need to return to.
- 21:11So from this moment forward, every urge, it's not a command,
- 21:21it's a test, a challenge. In fact, you want it to be
- 21:31tenacious, to try it's hardest to get you to fall back into an
- 21:36old habit, because this is where you get to defeat the parasite.
- 21:51In every good story, the hero goes on a journey and the old
- 22:00version of them has to die for the new version of them to
- 22:06exist. But that change is always tested
- 22:14by facing their nemesis. This parasite is your nemesis,
- 22:24and you will defeat it in battle.
- 22:28At a time when things are stressful or overwhelming, or
- 22:33you feel lonely or bored, that's when this parasite will try and
- 22:40take its opportunity, and that is your best opportunity to
- 22:47defeat it. When you are at your most
- 22:51vulnerable. If you can win that battle, you
- 22:57can win any battle. And in doing so, you become the
- 23:05version of yourself that values yourself, the version of you
- 23:12that honours your energy. The version of you that takes
- 23:22pride in being discerning with your time, your focus, your
- 23:27attention. The kind of person who doesn't
- 23:32need scraps of digital debris to feel alive.
- 23:39You don't need to scavenge for connection or stimulation
- 23:44because you can seek and discover and experience so much
- 23:51of what's fully real. And what if each time that urge
- 23:59appeals, you smile, you recognise you're being tested
- 24:07once again and you choose to feed them ideal version of you
- 24:16rather than feed the parasite? Stimulation can come in many
- 24:22forms. Freezing cold shower, a workout,
- 24:30a walk in nature, a phone call, a book, deep breathing, learning
- 24:40something new. You can stimulate yourself with
- 24:43real things so you don't need echoes of the past.
- 24:52Because you're not just killing a parasite.
- 24:56You are reclaiming and resurrecting your power.
- 25:07I want you to imagine it's two months from now, see yourself
- 25:13waking up with energy, focus and clarity, and you can tell from
- 25:20your expression that you're proud of yourself.
- 25:25High self esteem, high confidence.
- 25:29Other people notice the difference in your eyes, in your
- 25:33posture, in your presence. Imagine two months from now,
- 25:41that old voice, that manipulative parasite tries just
- 25:47one more time, but now it's a faint echo and you laugh because
- 25:55you've already won. And that version you are in two
- 26:00months time will not succumb to something synthetic and fake and
- 26:10processed because you're not starving.
- 26:17You have so much fulfilment for what's real.
- 26:21You don't need that poor quality substitute anymore.
- 26:30And that future version of you, I want you to see someone trying
- 26:36to provoke you, annoy you, irritate you.
- 26:43But that version of you has such high confidence and self esteem
- 26:49aligned with what you truly value.
- 26:54You don't need to play the game of anyone else.
- 27:00See yourself confident, self assured, aligned with wonderful
- 27:07resources that move you forward. It's time to leave that place
- 27:19with a glimpse of the future that reassures you that starving
- 27:23the parasite is exactly what's required to lead you to the
- 27:29future that you deserve and desire.
- 27:34So imagine walking up that spiral staircase and walking
- 27:40through a door, finding yourself back out in nature.
- 27:44But it's this new version of you that returns.
- 27:49Not the old version. The version of you utterly
- 27:55convinced. Not that you can starve the
- 27:58parasite, but that you will. So take a deep breath in through
- 28:05your nose and out through your nose.
- 28:11Just wiggle your fingers, wiggle your toes, connect and calibrate
- 28:15into the here and the now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to
- 28:21awaken you. Starting to count 123, waking up
- 28:28456, more alert. 7-8. Open your eyes.
- 28:33Open your eyes 910 Wide awake, Wide awake.
- 28:39Wide awake. Thank you for listening to The
