- Jessica Figueroa: Good morning, listeners. Today is a serious topic, but very necessary. What are we gonna do just for today? Well, just for today, we're gonna grieve something. Grief is a feeling, an emotion that if we don't feel it when it's time to feel it, it can really pop out sideways when we least expect it. And that can pop out in anger or maybe a substance abuse or ⁓ gossip or overeating. And often what it is is just unaddressed grief. We are not in a good habit of grieving things in our life that we need to grieve. And grief can be happy things that the world thinks look happy, but to us they're sad. For me this year, I had to grieve my daughter turning 16 and getting her license and a car. That took a lot of grief for me, the end of a season. And I didn't expect it. But when it came up, man, I had to grieve it. You might have to grieve not having toddlers anymore. Or being done having children or not being able to have children or a marriage or no marriage or a bad money mistake that you know it's gonna be okay, but it's still just sad, or maybe you got scammed and you fell for one of those scams and you need to grieve it because while it didn't impact you more than maybe a couple grand, the embarrassment, the shame, you have to grieve that. Guys, today we're gonna grieve what needs to be grieved. Ecclesiastes tells us there is a time and a place under heaven for everything. And there is a time for grief. So just for today, we are going to decide what do we need to grieve that we haven't grieved. Maybe you had a coworker move on to a different place. And that was really sad for you. It doesn't have to be sad for anyone else on the planet. Grief is personal, but if it's sad for you, you need to grieve it. Well, how do you grieve something? Well, you just spend time in it. Just sit down, stare out the window and think about it. And if the tears come, let them come. And if thoughts come or you're reminiscing, let that come. So just for today, we are going to grieve because grief is a necessary feeling. And when we don't feel it and we ignore it, it affects other areas of our lives. So just for today, we're going to be all around just grieving. Just a bunch of us grieving together. We are here with you. I'm grieving with you. We all have grief. And today we're going to grieve. Just for today.
