- 0:08Speaker 2: Divine starts now, Hello and welcome to that. She's on
- 0:11Speaker 2: The Money Radio Show podcast, radio show and podcast for
- 0:16Speaker 2: millennials who want financial freedom.
- 0:18Speaker 3: You know what close enough is good enough?
- 0:21Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 0:21Speaker 2: My favorite thing is we had a comment on our
- 0:24Speaker 2: Instagram where a Victoria got in trouble for telling.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Me trouble Yeah, apparent nicer.
- 0:30Speaker 1: No, I don't do that the first time.
- 0:32Speaker 4: What I want?
- 0:33Speaker 1: What do you want, Mitch?
- 0:34Speaker 5: I want them to send us.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Photos, Okay, photos of what Mitch.
- 0:40Speaker 5: I want their photos of their big long bank statements,
- 0:43Speaker 5: and I just want to see how they're doing, you know,
- 0:46Speaker 5: if we're helping them on the show or is that
- 0:47Speaker 5: how it works, Victoria? You ask people for the literal
- 0:49Speaker 5: photos of their finance.
- 0:50Speaker 3: And actually don't.
- 0:52Speaker 4: But you know what, if you've got any photos or
- 0:54Speaker 4: screenshots of things that you've seen on Facebook place that
- 0:58Speaker 4: you think is absolutely hilarious and people are taking the mickey,
- 1:01Speaker 4: we want to see it. Because we haven't done that
- 1:03Speaker 4: segment on the radio show recently, and we're going to
- 1:06Speaker 4: bring it back really soon because.
- 1:08Speaker 2: We've actually got a high bar for quality and we
- 1:10Speaker 2: haven't had so we won our community.
- 1:12Speaker 4: We've got the radio hosts and I just really don't
- 1:15Speaker 4: think it cuts the case.
- 1:16Speaker 5: Here.
- 1:16Speaker 2: The reason that Michie wants to see those bank account statements,
- 1:19Speaker 2: he's looking for a husband, he's.
- 1:21Speaker 5: Got a hot.
- 1:26Speaker 4: Everyone is as desperate as you. Well, but this week
- 1:31Speaker 4: on the show, we've got some hot tips. We talk
- 1:33Speaker 4: about my trip to Florida and I tell you how
- 1:36Speaker 4: to say forty three thousand dollars on your mortgage if
- 1:38Speaker 4: you've got one.
- 1:38Speaker 5: That was a good tip, Victoria. We also go through
- 1:41Speaker 5: travers grinder conversations and they were explosive more ways than one.
- 1:45Speaker 5: There was some videos too.
- 1:48Speaker 3: If you meet someone on Grinder who's meant to pay
- 1:49Speaker 3: for the first date.
- 1:50Speaker 5: Oh that's not it's not a date, Victoria.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Do you know what I reckon?
- 1:54Speaker 4: We should just get into the show because this has
- 1:56Speaker 4: been absolute trash to walk and this is not what
- 1:59Speaker 4: the people are here for.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Let's be honest, all right, She's on the Money radio
- 2:02Speaker 2: show starts right now. It is She's on the Money
- 2:05Speaker 2: radio show with Australia's number one finance podcast of Victoria divine.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Those are big shoes to fill, honestly, size tens nine
- 2:15Speaker 3: and a half thank you.
- 2:17Speaker 5: I'd love to know who's counting as well, who's number
- 2:19Speaker 5: two and who's number three. I'd like to get you
- 2:20Speaker 5: all in a room and really have a good chat
- 2:21Speaker 5: with you all.
- 2:22Speaker 1: And see what the difference is between.
- 2:24Speaker 4: Yeah, let's just not dive too deeply into what Australia's
- 2:27Speaker 4: number one finance podcaster actually means and we can just
- 2:31Speaker 4: keep on with the show.
- 2:32Speaker 5: Yeah that's why, Trav I'm just mitched cheery. There's no claim,
- 2:34Speaker 5: no title, no one can argue.
- 2:36Speaker 2: It, and that's why nobody even says my name. But
- 2:38Speaker 2: that's fine.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Yeah, let's do this.
- 2:41Speaker 5: That was Victoria with an accent, all right?
- 2:46Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, So obviously COVID travel restrictions all done injustice.
- 2:54Speaker 2: So everyone's getting out there. European Summer's Victoria. You are
- 2:59Speaker 2: over in this States.
- 3:01Speaker 4: Just a few little days in Florida, living my best life.
- 3:05Speaker 3: My hair wasn't though. The humidity killed me.
- 3:07Speaker 5: Oh that would have been awful. In the South is
- 3:10Speaker 5: really bad.
- 3:10Speaker 3: One out of ten cannot recommend.
- 3:12Speaker 2: And something else I don't really recommend is spending as
- 3:15Speaker 2: much as Kylie Jenner has spent on her recent holiday.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Isn't it like two million?
- 3:20Speaker 4: US sillars a day day on a trip to Italy.
- 3:24Speaker 5: Wow, they did get a three hundred foot megga yard,
- 3:27Speaker 5: which is two hundred and fifty million on its own.
- 3:29Speaker 5: She had her closest friends. There were ten rooms on
- 3:31Speaker 5: the yacht, so one room per friend. Twenty nine crew
- 3:34Speaker 5: members on the boat. There's a sauna, a Hammaker, plunge,
- 3:37Speaker 5: pul beauty salon. It's truly like extravagant.
- 3:40Speaker 3: So I've got a question, how do you reckon? I
- 3:42Speaker 3: become a friend of her.
- 3:43Speaker 2: The only way you're doing that is becoming one of
- 3:45Speaker 2: those crew members.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Mate, Well, I watch enough of below decks.
- 3:49Speaker 4: I'm absolutely credit chance.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm ready. I've been trained.
- 3:54Speaker 4: You let me know, Kylie, I can absolutely whack together
- 3:57Speaker 4: a really good margarita.
- 4:00Speaker 5: What are your travel hacks? Surely you've got some from
- 4:01Speaker 5: my last trip.
- 4:02Speaker 3: I've got a few travel hacks.
- 4:03Speaker 4: Obviously, going to the States, it's a really big expense.
- 4:06Speaker 4: But did you know everyone who's going to scoff at this.
- 4:09Speaker 4: I traveled with only carry on luggis I saw this.
- 4:12Speaker 5: I saw that on Instagram.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Yeah, but hang on a second. Let's just say my
- 4:15Speaker 2: carry on is like my laptop bag. Your carry on
- 4:18Speaker 2: is actually a full blown suitcase.
- 4:20Speaker 3: No it's not. It's actually a carry on suitcase.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Took eight people to carry it.
- 4:24Speaker 4: But still, honestly, I find traveling only with carry on
- 4:28Speaker 4: really liberating because I don't have analysis paralysis.
- 4:31Speaker 3: When I'm getting ready in the morning.
- 4:32Speaker 4: I literally only have the dresses that I had planned
- 4:35Speaker 4: to wear and the makeup that I need.
- 4:37Speaker 3: That is it.
- 4:38Speaker 4: In fact, I probably could have packed another pair of pajamas,
- 4:41Speaker 4: but like, that's not the biggest problem.
- 4:42Speaker 1: I had a right, So, what are the travel hacks
- 4:44Speaker 1: have you got for us?
- 4:45Speaker 4: Mate? So if you're traveling internationally, obviously, especially at the moment,
- 4:48Speaker 4: it's really expensive. I would have loved to travel business
- 4:51Speaker 4: and had a little bit more room. However, that wasn't
- 4:54Speaker 4: an option for me because when I looked at it,
- 4:56Speaker 4: the business class flights were going to cost ten grand.
- 4:59Speaker 3: So it was a hard note from me.
- 5:00Speaker 4: But you know what I did to get a little
- 5:01Speaker 4: bit of extra room, which is a little bit sneaky,
- 5:03Speaker 4: and I don't really want to tell you because if
- 5:05Speaker 4: I tell people, they're going to do it and then
- 5:07Speaker 4: I'm going to miss out. Yeah, I know, right, So
- 5:09Speaker 4: what I did was I flew with United on the
- 5:12Speaker 4: way to the US. I love United, downloaded the United app,
- 5:15Speaker 4: and the hour before my flight took off, logged into
- 5:18Speaker 4: the app, changed my seat to make sure that I
- 5:21Speaker 4: was guaranteed an empty seat next to me when I
- 5:23Speaker 4: flew worked flawless plan that no one else has thought
- 5:27Speaker 4: of that yet yet, but now I'm telling them, But
- 5:31Speaker 4: that was a bonus and I ended up with a
- 5:33Speaker 4: little bit more extra room. I mean, it's not a
- 5:35Speaker 4: money saving hack, but it was definitely a sanity saving one.
- 5:38Speaker 5: Well, I've got one. If this helps, If you guys
- 5:40Speaker 5: are interested, I know you've been traveling.
- 5:42Speaker 3: We're not carry on.
- 5:43Speaker 5: It's might typ you go through security. You know, you
- 5:45Speaker 5: can't bring anything like food or drink through security. So
- 5:48Speaker 5: once you pass security, you go to subway and you
- 5:50Speaker 5: get a foot long and you eat the six inch
- 5:53Speaker 5: at the gate, and then you take the other six
- 5:54Speaker 5: inch on the pane and then you've got a sandwich
- 5:56Speaker 5: for the flight.
- 5:57Speaker 4: That's actually really smart. This is going to sound really
- 5:59Speaker 4: entire pre booking your in flight meal. Everybody knows I'm
- 6:03Speaker 4: a picky eater. But if you log into your app,
- 6:05Speaker 4: you can actually order a customized menu. So if you
- 6:08Speaker 4: don't eat meat, you can select no meat on your menu.
- 6:11Speaker 4: But the bonus here is if you have a specialty menu,
- 6:14Speaker 4: they give you your food first, so when it's meal time,
- 6:18Speaker 4: your food comes out way before anybody Else's always hot.
- 6:21Speaker 5: Ten out of ten celiac. If it means I get
- 6:24Speaker 5: my food before.
- 6:24Speaker 4: Everybody else, exactly, Sorry, I only eat fruit.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Did you hear about that couple who actually got stranded
- 6:32Speaker 2: in Bangkok and it ended up costing them hundreds and
- 6:34Speaker 2: thousands of ideas?
- 6:35Speaker 3: Actually disgusting, crazy now early couple.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Yeah, so let's do this.
- 6:40Speaker 2: What is your worst travel disaster story? We want to
- 6:43Speaker 2: know the big stuff.
- 6:44Speaker 1: How much did it cost you? What happened? Were you stranded?
- 6:47Speaker 2: Did you have to put up with Victoria eating her
- 6:50Speaker 2: hot fresh meal next to you an hour before you
- 6:53Speaker 2: got it, while you watched.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Her in a seat that had a spare seat next
- 6:57Speaker 3: to it.
- 6:57Speaker 2: That kind of stuff we want to hear. Give us
- 6:59Speaker 2: a call right now, thirty one to six five your
- 7:01Speaker 2: travel disaster stories.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Somebody who should have had some travel insurance.
- 7:06Speaker 3: I did have travel insurance. Talking about you might well,
- 7:10Speaker 3: everything's about.
- 7:11Speaker 5: Me beyond the show. But it doesn't matter.
- 7:14Speaker 3: It's my show.
- 7:15Speaker 5: It's about me, Victoria, It's about Paul. Little. Paul Moroski
- 7:19Speaker 5: and Georgina Moroski, an Ozsie couple were flying to Bangkok
- 7:23Speaker 5: on an Australian airline. That's all I'm going to say.
- 7:24Speaker 5: I'm not going to name in shame, but this couple,
- 7:26Speaker 5: this is all over the news.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Right.
- 7:28Speaker 5: They went to Bankok, had a lovely little trip. They're
- 7:30Speaker 5: both priority flyers, right, they're both in wheelchairs, so a
- 7:33Speaker 5: lot of organization goes into their flying schedules, as you
- 7:36Speaker 5: can imagine.
- 7:37Speaker 3: Right, which shouldn't be too hard.
- 7:39Speaker 5: Totally right. They're in Bangkok. They they've halfway finished their trip,
- 7:42Speaker 5: they're about to fly over to Turkey when they get
- 7:44Speaker 5: the notification, the email that their flight has been canceled.
- 7:48Speaker 5: A refund is being processed and the airline is pulling
- 7:51Speaker 5: themselves out from support and they are no longer able
- 7:53Speaker 5: to communicate with the Aussies soly at all. They said,
- 7:57Speaker 5: we've refunded you. Sorry, we've overbooked the fly something's happened.
- 8:01Speaker 5: We don't have your seats anymore, and you strngey acceptable
- 8:04Speaker 5: in ben Kock and their priority passengers in wheelchairs. Can
- 8:07Speaker 5: you imagine the stress and these guys are almost eighty
- 8:10Speaker 5: the stress that this.
- 8:11Speaker 4: Will especially because of the organization that would have gone into,
- 8:15Speaker 4: you know, organizing that trip and making sure that everything
- 8:18Speaker 4: was good to go.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:21Speaker 5: So they were on the flight Victoria and they were
- 8:22Speaker 5: pulled off the flight.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Wait, they were on the flight.
- 8:24Speaker 5: Yeah, they were getting on the flight. They were pulled off.
- 8:27Speaker 5: There's this guy, Elijah right, he's thirty five. He said,
- 8:29Speaker 5: I was on the flight the treatment of the elderly couple.
- 8:31Speaker 5: I was disturbed, That's what he says. So it's a
- 8:33Speaker 5: mess of a situation, but disgusting.
- 8:36Speaker 3: I hope someone stepped in and helped them in that circumstance.
- 8:39Speaker 4: I know it's not their job, but that's the Australian
- 8:41Speaker 4: thing to do, right, Yeah, or.
- 8:42Speaker 5: Even give them like some peanuts, you know, or give
- 8:44Speaker 5: them some.
- 8:45Speaker 4: Like that's what you would have done. Like, hey, nanny,
- 8:47Speaker 4: and you're on a peanut. I don't know if this
- 8:49Speaker 4: will help.
- 8:50Speaker 5: I'm disgusted, but I will take one of those mini
- 8:52Speaker 5: Shardonnays please on my way out.
- 8:53Speaker 4: Yeah, do you have those mini gin bottles? Because they're
- 8:55Speaker 4: not just thirty meals, they're always fifty.
- 8:57Speaker 2: It's good to a big I'll get take a couple
- 8:58Speaker 2: of those, but I'm mad we threw around there on
- 9:00Speaker 2: thirty We want to hear your travel disaster stories.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Hey Kim, what happened to you? Mate?
- 9:07Speaker 6: My friend and I booked what we thought were like
- 9:09Speaker 6: twenty pounds airfare to Hamburg for the money amazing, So
- 9:16Speaker 6: we flew Ryan Air. So this is where it probably
- 9:18Speaker 6: goes down to budget. And we got to where we
- 9:22Speaker 6: thought we were staying, which I booked, and I thought
- 9:24Speaker 6: it was like a beautiful German abode, you know, like
- 9:26Speaker 6: that cabinet type situation. Turned up it was a hostel.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Oh no, were you in the like eight person mixed rooms.
- 9:36Speaker 6: No, well they wanted us to share a room with
- 9:39Speaker 6: ten other people.
- 9:40Speaker 4: Oh no, prison break the little curtains so you have
- 9:45Speaker 4: a little bit of privacy.
- 9:48Speaker 6: But there was absolutely no other accommodation that we could
- 9:51Speaker 6: find that was within our budget. So we headed back
- 9:55Speaker 6: to the tin shed that is the Ryan Air airport
- 9:59Speaker 6: in Hamburg and basically had to argue and China group
- 10:02Speaker 6: the eight flights out of there.
- 10:04Speaker 4: To be honest, I think you should have a spit
- 10:06Speaker 4: in the bullet and had an experience in the hostel
- 10:08Speaker 4: what's the worst that could happen?
- 10:11Speaker 1: Thanks so much, gim now.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Drew's given us a buzz on thirty one six five
- 10:15Speaker 2: talking about your worst travel disasters.
- 10:18Speaker 1: What happened to you, Drew was years back.
- 10:21Speaker 6: I was living over in London.
- 10:23Speaker 7: I went over there to work in finance and.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Finance I landed the day the.
- 10:28Speaker 6: GFC started, so I was already on the back.
- 10:31Speaker 7: I took a little trip to over to Spain to
- 10:34Speaker 7: go to music festival with a few mates, and where
- 10:36Speaker 7: we were staying got cleaned out, so passport and everything.
- 10:39Speaker 7: Oh no, So off to Madrid we go to get
- 10:43Speaker 7: the emergency passport and whatnot and show back of London.
- 10:46Speaker 6: That was all fine.
- 10:47Speaker 7: I used to play with the guitar and sing and whatnot.
- 10:49Speaker 7: So I started auditioning for random rolls and I landed
- 10:52Speaker 7: a role in a music I don't know if I've
- 10:55Speaker 7: heard of Jersey Boys, Oh.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Wow, legendary. I don't know if you've ever heard of it.
- 11:02Speaker 6: Wait for the story, all right, mate.
- 11:04Speaker 7: The idea was the rehearsals were going to be in
- 11:06Speaker 7: Newcastle for three or four weeks whatever, and then if
- 11:09Speaker 7: it's any good, we're going to end up on the
- 11:10Speaker 7: West End, a few mates in Barcelona, so I'm going
- 11:13Speaker 7: to get Duck over.
- 11:14Speaker 6: There for the weekend.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Solid plan, good plan.
- 11:18Speaker 7: So we get over there, We park our little high
- 11:20Speaker 7: car down on the beach, come back the old high
- 11:23Speaker 7: card then cleaned out. No not again, emergency.
- 11:27Speaker 6: Passport is gone.
- 11:29Speaker 4: Oh no, now the embassy is just gonna think that
- 11:31Speaker 4: you're taking the mikey exactly.
- 11:34Speaker 7: They had to do this full investigation meanwhile in Barcelona
- 11:38Speaker 7: for weeks.
- 11:38Speaker 2: The best thing is, though, Drew, You've got a nice
- 11:41Speaker 2: lucrative little emergency passport selling business out of it.
- 11:45Speaker 3: We see you, We know what you're up to.
- 11:47Speaker 5: All right.
- 11:48Speaker 2: If you have yourself a money dilemma, like Drew probably
- 11:52Speaker 2: has now got yourself in a little bit of a situation,
- 11:55Speaker 2: just hit us up. Search us at ses on the
- 11:57Speaker 2: money on any socials.
- 11:58Speaker 1: What have you got this week?
- 11:59Speaker 5: Michi, Oh this is a good one.
- 12:00Speaker 3: It's because you came up with it.
- 12:02Speaker 5: This isn't me okay.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Kitlyn wants to know what.
- 12:07Speaker 3: Where's the recording of Caitlyn?
- 12:09Speaker 6: Huh?
- 12:09Speaker 1: Sorry?
- 12:10Speaker 5: Do you think that I am putting a wig on?
- 12:12Speaker 3: And you're not even bothering to put the wig on?
- 12:14Speaker 4: You're just asking me your money dilemmas so that I'll
- 12:17Speaker 4: answer all your personal financial questions.
- 12:19Speaker 3: I'm onto you million dollar meach.
- 12:20Speaker 5: Well, listen when you when you realize that Caitlyn wants
- 12:23Speaker 5: to know if she should take a new job with
- 12:24Speaker 5: a pay rise or stay where she is. It's not me.
- 12:27Speaker 4: Yeah, look to be honest, if it is, you have
- 12:30Speaker 4: got a different answer.
- 12:32Speaker 5: Well the advice you give Caitlyn Air quotes Kaitlyn. Next,
- 12:35Speaker 5: we'll do it after this. This is she's on the
- 12:38Speaker 5: Money radio show. Everybody great to be here.
- 12:41Speaker 1: You know how we are here.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Guys, we're here because budget.
- 12:45Speaker 4: Is that right?
- 12:47Speaker 1: We are sitting here in person.
- 12:48Speaker 5: But I was going to say my mum and my
- 12:50Speaker 5: dad had a boozy night one night and then about
- 12:53Speaker 5: twenty six years ago, and I mean that's why I
- 12:54Speaker 5: don't know.
- 12:55Speaker 3: I was planned.
- 12:56Speaker 1: I was a mistake. My parents were told they couldn't
- 12:58Speaker 1: have kids.
- 12:59Speaker 3: No such thing. It's a mistake.
- 13:00Speaker 2: My sister is a doctor. They got told they couldn't.
- 13:03Speaker 2: And then I popped up a little long time later on.
- 13:05Speaker 5: Oh isn't that a good story.
- 13:07Speaker 3: That's called a happy accident.
- 13:08Speaker 1: I don't say happy ending.
- 13:09Speaker 5: That would have been pain in my as it is.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Can we move on?
- 13:12Speaker 2: This is a finance second and the reason we are
- 13:16Speaker 2: here is because of Budget Direct. They are winner of
- 13:19Speaker 2: Can Stars Insurer of the Year Award twenty twenty two
- 13:22Speaker 2: Budget Direct Insurance.
- 13:24Speaker 1: So so you didn't.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Even practice that one, clearly because of Midge. Anyway, Let's
- 13:28Speaker 2: do this.
- 13:30Speaker 5: All right. Every week we bring you a financial story
- 13:32Speaker 5: from a listener, We get an on air, get Victoria's
- 13:35Speaker 5: live take on what they should do. You can get
- 13:36Speaker 5: in touch to slide into the DMS like Caitlin's done.
- 13:39Speaker 5: She says, Hi, V, I've got a job. I don't
- 13:41Speaker 5: know why I went British. Hello, V, I've got a
- 13:43Speaker 5: job off on the table. I'm not sure I should
- 13:45Speaker 5: take it. In it though, I don't know I should
- 13:48Speaker 5: I go to Tottenham? She says, I would gain tenk
- 13:51Speaker 5: per animy a pay rise. It's a desk job with
- 13:53Speaker 5: potential to progress and grow with inside that company. It's
- 13:57Speaker 5: an internal promotion, right, but in a different sector under
- 14:00Speaker 5: a different brand name. Okay, I get it. Currently she's
- 14:03Speaker 5: on the road doing deliveries, which she enjoys. She loves
- 14:06Speaker 5: the freedom, the fresh air, all that good stuff. The
- 14:08Speaker 5: new job will make a desk bound much longer commute
- 14:11Speaker 5: to work. But she is saving for a house, so
- 14:14Speaker 5: the money would be helpful. She's comfortable, does she this
- 14:16Speaker 5: is a question. Does she take the new job and
- 14:18Speaker 5: the ten kpay rise, but add a thirty to forty
- 14:20Speaker 5: minute commute. That's interesting. It's like you can sort of
- 14:23Speaker 5: gain something, but you also lose the time.
- 14:24Speaker 4: Look, I think it's a rock and a hard place
- 14:27Speaker 4: one because I know you guys are expecting me.
- 14:29Speaker 3: To go, of course, take the new job, take the
- 14:31Speaker 3: more money.
- 14:32Speaker 4: But at the end of the day, when you're taking
- 14:34Speaker 4: a new job or considering taking a new job, it's
- 14:37Speaker 4: not just the financial remuneration we need to take into consideration,
- 14:41Speaker 4: but it's all of the added bonuses and benefits and extras.
- 14:44Speaker 3: It's the flexibility, it's the.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Time with your family and friends, it's the commute.
- 14:49Speaker 3: If it's ten grand that.
- 14:50Speaker 4: You're looking for, I think we need to look even
- 14:53Speaker 4: further than just taking another job. So ten grand divided
- 14:57Speaker 4: by twelve is about eight hundred and fifty dollars each
- 15:00Speaker 4: and every single month. And if we divide that by
- 15:02Speaker 4: fifty two, which is how many weeks are in each
- 15:05Speaker 4: and every single year, that's one hundred and ninety two
- 15:07Speaker 4: dollars each and every single week that you might want
- 15:10Speaker 4: to find to add to your budget. But what we
- 15:13Speaker 4: need to add up is how much is going to
- 15:15Speaker 4: be taken out in tax, because obviously it's not going
- 15:17Speaker 4: to be a clean ten grand that hits your account
- 15:19Speaker 4: after taking that job. But if you're already on the
- 15:22Speaker 4: road and have some flexibility, you've got an additional forty
- 15:25Speaker 4: minutes a day. Can you jump on air tasker and
- 15:28Speaker 4: do something after you've clocked off and find that additional
- 15:31Speaker 4: cash while maintaining a work life balance that's so important
- 15:34Speaker 4: to you.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and also you've got to think about the fuel
- 15:36Speaker 2: that she's going to be driving that forty minute exact.
- 15:39Speaker 4: Clear like what is the actual cost benefit and analysis here,
- 15:42Speaker 4: because it's not just time you're losing, it's kilometers on
- 15:45Speaker 4: the cart, it's more frequent car servicing. It is the petrol,
- 15:49Speaker 4: which we know at the moment is completely astronomical, and
- 15:52Speaker 4: I do have some hot petrol tips coming up. But
- 15:55Speaker 4: from my perspective, it's actually more about work life balance
- 15:58Speaker 4: and what you're trying to achieve, because I would prefer
- 16:01Speaker 4: to absolutely love my life and love my job. And
- 16:04Speaker 4: have the goal of buying a house another twelve months away,
- 16:08Speaker 4: then bringing it forward and being miserable.
- 16:10Speaker 5: Victoria. I was talking to one of my friends, and
- 16:12Speaker 5: this is a friend of mine. You know, we've all
- 16:13Speaker 5: got those friends that make a lot of money, and
- 16:15Speaker 5: we've all got like one.
- 16:16Speaker 4: Yeah, well yeah, mine right now.
- 16:21Speaker 5: She told me she had six streams of income. And
- 16:23Speaker 5: I think you touched on it, right, Like, work smarter,
- 16:26Speaker 5: not harder, right, try to get different forms of income
- 16:29Speaker 5: coming in. So if I'm not the one to be
- 16:31Speaker 5: giving financial advice, but stay in the job and try
- 16:34Speaker 5: to make that extra ten k elsewhere.
- 16:35Speaker 4: Right, Well, did you know million dollar Midge that the
- 16:38Speaker 4: average millionaire has seven different streams of income that come in.
- 16:41Speaker 5: Yeah, that makes sense.
- 16:43Speaker 4: So you want to be a millionaire, find seven ways
- 16:45Speaker 4: to generate income, and you're halfway there.
- 16:47Speaker 5: You have your the stripping that you do, and that's
- 16:49Speaker 5: a great way for you to make money on the side.
- 16:51Speaker 3: Yeah, and the topless watering.
- 16:52Speaker 5: The topless waiting.
- 16:53Speaker 2: But I have to put a lot of time in
- 16:55Speaker 2: the gym, and I have to take a lot of
- 16:56Speaker 2: you know, supplements and things like that.
- 16:58Speaker 3: Oh, I didn't know you did. That was obvious.
- 17:00Speaker 5: Yeah, Traviat's raw chicken breast during the show, It's.
- 17:03Speaker 3: All why does he always drink eggs?
- 17:05Speaker 4: Hang on?
- 17:05Speaker 5: It's bizarre, isn't it.
- 17:07Speaker 2: I have to say that I love it because you
- 17:08Speaker 2: guys just bang on about stuff and it gives me
- 17:10Speaker 2: the time to actually eat and things.
- 17:12Speaker 1: I have to say anything for minutes. It's fantastic.
- 17:14Speaker 3: Your mum must be so proud to rad.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Bless you, Chrissy Roebuck.
- 17:18Speaker 2: Hey, if you have yourself a money dilemma, hit us
- 17:21Speaker 2: up anytime. Just search Cheese on the Money on socials.
- 17:25Speaker 2: You can find us there. But look, we want to
- 17:27Speaker 2: save some money, Victoria Devine, So what are you going
- 17:29Speaker 2: coming up next?
- 17:30Speaker 4: I love saving money and do you know what I
- 17:32Speaker 4: love more than saving my own money is having the
- 17:35Speaker 4: street cred to save other people money. So I have
- 17:38Speaker 4: a fuel app coming up that I'm going to recommend
- 17:40Speaker 4: because I feel like it does a really good job
- 17:42Speaker 4: at helping us find the cheapest fuel.
- 17:44Speaker 3: And I also have.
- 17:45Speaker 4: A sneaky way to say forty three thousand dollars on
- 17:48Speaker 4: your mortgage.
- 17:48Speaker 3: So don't know anywhere.
- 17:49Speaker 2: You're a modern day Robin hood you knowne Australia's number
- 17:53Speaker 2: one finance podcast. Hello Victoria Divine. I felt like going
- 17:58Speaker 2: really ousy then Victoria to worn.
- 18:00Speaker 4: Yeah, people think that's a stage name. I've been messaged
- 18:03Speaker 4: so many times people are like, oh, that's a really
- 18:05Speaker 4: terrible stage name. Yeah, it makes you sound like you
- 18:09Speaker 4: work in the adult industry. And I'm like, actually, it's
- 18:12Speaker 4: actually my bloodline that that was my grandparents' name.
- 18:15Speaker 2: So anyway, and Mitch Jury as well, sitting over there, guys,
- 18:20Speaker 2: favorite time of the week because it's time to save
- 18:22Speaker 2: some people some money.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Let's do this.
- 18:23Speaker 3: I love it.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Simper save a Saturday.
- 18:27Speaker 5: Yes, every week Victoria gives us some sernicky little tips
- 18:30Speaker 5: on how to keep more bucks in your bank account.
- 18:31Speaker 5: I don't know about you, trap, but Victoria will text
- 18:33Speaker 5: me throughout the week and she'll go, oh, I got
- 18:35Speaker 5: another tip, Victoria, wait until Saturday morning.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Stop it, mate, What do you got this week?
- 18:40Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, I have a few.
- 18:41Speaker 4: But didn't you say you have a money saving tip
- 18:43Speaker 4: that you want to share with the community.
- 18:45Speaker 3: Hang on a second, I'm trying to get out of this.
- 18:47Speaker 2: This is the third week in a row now that
- 18:49Speaker 2: we have done this with Mitch Jury and the first
- 18:51Speaker 2: two absolutely terrible mates.
- 18:53Speaker 3: You know what it's about trusting your friends.
- 18:56Speaker 1: You said that last week, mate, and guess what happened.
- 18:58Speaker 1: It was the worst.
- 18:59Speaker 2: So all right, if you want to be responsible for it, mate,
- 19:01Speaker 2: you go for It's.
- 19:02Speaker 5: Shoes on the money with Victoria Vine and Mitch Cheery.
- 19:04Speaker 5: If I've got a tip, I can bring a tip.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Keep what's your tip? Million dollar meach?
- 19:07Speaker 5: All right? If you get a parking fine, which I've
- 19:10Speaker 5: recently done, no, don't scoff at that, because that is
- 19:12Speaker 5: a universal problem. We will.
- 19:13Speaker 4: I always get parking fines because I have a lot
- 19:16Speaker 4: of audacity and I'm just like, ah, I risk it
- 19:18Speaker 4: for the biscuit.
- 19:18Speaker 5: It was a couple of hundred bucks and I forgot
- 19:20Speaker 5: about it.
- 19:20Speaker 3: In the left A couple of one hundred bucks for
- 19:22Speaker 3: parking fine. What did you do in the middle of
- 19:25Speaker 3: the bridge.
- 19:26Speaker 5: It was in Bondai, so that's you need to know. Anyway,
- 19:30Speaker 5: a couple hundred bucks and I forgot about it. They
- 19:31Speaker 5: sent me mail letter mail at a mail letter, and
- 19:33Speaker 5: I didn't reply. Got one in the mail. I actually
- 19:35Speaker 5: read it and said your license is being suspended. You
- 19:37Speaker 5: must pay now. So I called them and I said, listen, guys,
- 19:40Speaker 5: I'm not going to pay you the full amount. What
- 19:41Speaker 5: I'm going to do is I'm going to do it
- 19:42Speaker 5: in fortnightly repayments. And they said, great, you want to
- 19:45Speaker 5: do fifty bucks a fortnite And I said, you know what,
- 19:47Speaker 5: I'm going to give you ten bucks a fortnight. And
- 19:49Speaker 5: they have to accept it. They've got to take it
- 19:50Speaker 5: because they actually yeah, he said, oh, I think we'd
- 19:53Speaker 5: prefer to do a bit more. And I said, oh,
- 19:54Speaker 5: I can afford is ten dollars a fortnight for a
- 19:57Speaker 5: couple of months until it's paid off. That is a
- 19:59Speaker 5: super service Saturday.
- 20:00Speaker 4: That's actually really smart for budgeting cash flow because obviously,
- 20:03Speaker 4: when you get a parking fine, it's not expected and
- 20:06Speaker 4: you might be out literally a couple of hundred bucks,
- 20:09Speaker 4: So negotiate it. But also, what if you're that parking
- 20:12Speaker 4: inspector that mitchat a chat to. He's gonna be like,
- 20:15Speaker 4: isn't that million dollar mich I try to buy you
- 20:17Speaker 4: ten bucks a week.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Hey, if we're gonna throw out tips like that, just
- 20:21Speaker 2: don't park in a place you're not supposed to save
- 20:23Speaker 2: yourself a cup one hundred bucks?
- 20:25Speaker 3: All right, thanks for coming drafts see yourself about.
- 20:30Speaker 5: All right?
- 20:31Speaker 4: So I haven't you app for you guys, which I
- 20:33Speaker 4: have recently discovered. Obviously you know I'm already obsessed with
- 20:37Speaker 4: the seven eleven fuel lock app where you can lock
- 20:39Speaker 4: in a fuel price. This app takes it to the
- 20:43Speaker 4: next level. It actually lets you track down the cheapest
- 20:46Speaker 4: fuel across the board, not just with one company, so
- 20:49Speaker 4: you can track down the cheapest fuel near you in
- 20:52Speaker 4: basically two seconds. It's called Arevo. I think I'm saying
- 20:55Speaker 4: that properly a Revo. It is by our ACV, so
- 20:59Speaker 4: you know the it's legit. It's not some kind of
- 21:01Speaker 4: sham app that's trying to scam me out of a
- 21:03Speaker 4: whole heap of money. But it's the Urevo fuel Finder
- 21:06Speaker 4: and it basically puts you in the driver's seat.
- 21:08Speaker 3: When it comes to savings. And I bloody love that
- 21:10Speaker 3: I've got that out.
- 21:11Speaker 2: They're actually a really amazing public transport and things like that.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Are you joking.
- 21:17Speaker 2: You?
- 21:18Speaker 3: Actually he's showing me the.
- 21:19Speaker 4: App, yet he's decided to never share it, and his
- 21:22Speaker 4: savings tip this week was just to talk anywhere you
- 21:26Speaker 4: had something better to share, and you chose to withhold it.
- 21:28Speaker 3: That's disgrastersting.
- 21:29Speaker 1: I can see too what they call the Obviously.
- 21:35Speaker 3: I thought he said he'd never heard of grinder.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Interesting, let's grind it right, Let's move on.
- 21:40Speaker 3: I have another hot tip for you guys.
- 21:42Speaker 4: Earlier, I promised that I could save you forty three
- 21:45Speaker 4: thousand dollars on your mortgage, and I'm going to tell
- 21:48Speaker 4: you right now how to do that.
- 21:49Speaker 3: So, when it comes to mortgage repayments, sometimes you're like,
- 21:52Speaker 3: should I pay more off my mortgage or not? Like,
- 21:54Speaker 3: what does it mean? How does it work?
- 21:56Speaker 4: And obviously, at this point in time, interest rates are
- 21:59Speaker 4: very hot topic.
- 22:00Speaker 3: However, I've done the maths.
- 22:02Speaker 4: If you add an additional one hundred bucks each and
- 22:04Speaker 4: every single week to your mortgage repayments over the life
- 22:08Speaker 4: of your loan, you are going to say forty three grand,
- 22:10Speaker 4: but you are going to get out of your mortgage.
- 22:13Speaker 3: Seven years earlier. How's that for a money win?
- 22:16Speaker 5: That's a win.
- 22:17Speaker 4: Also, if you're not in a position where you can
- 22:19Speaker 4: afford another hundred bucks each and every single week, because
- 22:22Speaker 4: that's a pretty big stretch for a lot of families.
- 22:25Speaker 4: Did you know that if you pay your mortgage weekly
- 22:28Speaker 4: instead of monthly, you will save money because the interest
- 22:31Speaker 4: is calculated on a daily basis, not a monthly one.
- 22:34Speaker 2: See that's how we end the show with an absolute bang,
- 22:37Speaker 2: Victoria Devine, I mean there was.
- 22:38Speaker 4: You can automate it too by just setting up direct debits,
- 22:41Speaker 4: and you're saving yourself some cash while still spending exactly
- 22:44Speaker 4: the same amount of money.
- 22:44Speaker 1: All Right, we got to get out of here. If
- 22:47Speaker 1: you want to hit us up anytime, you can do it.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Just search sheees on the Money on Socials, Mitch, you've
- 22:52Speaker 2: got to stick around. You're doing the Life on Cut
- 22:54Speaker 2: show with Laura Dern and is it snabby?
- 22:59Speaker 4: Maybe? You know?
- 23:00Speaker 1: I think it's Brett Hockley as well.
- 23:02Speaker 3: Yeah, that guy's really smart.
- 23:04Speaker 5: Yeah, no, what it is. It's two professional broadcasters, you
- 23:07Speaker 5: know what they're doing.
- 23:08Speaker 4: That's what I've got next to see how he said too,
- 23:10Speaker 4: it's not one of them exactly.
- 23:12Speaker 2: No, we are just kidding. The Life Uncut with Laura
- 23:15Speaker 2: Burn and Brett Hockley coming up next
