- 0:57SPEAKER_00: Hello, everyone.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to another episode of the podcast.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: We are getting a little deeper into the nitty-gritty of what triggers your nervous system into fight or flight, and obviously how to stop it.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: But I want to dive into because I think having this understanding is honestly key because once you can understand and become aware of what triggers it, we can choose differently, we can understand why.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: And then we're gonna kind of see how this is all kind of tied together to one thing.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: So your autonomic nervous system is an automatic system outside of your conscious control, right?
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: And that's why your nervous system kicks in without you saying, like, nervous system, go into fight or flight, right?
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: It's very automatic.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: And that's also part of what can be very frustrating about it is that you are trying to be differently, act differently, you know, work on your health or your money or your business or your relationships, but these nervous system responses kind of keep kicking in, right?
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: And obviously, there are things that are not only regulate your heartbreak, your breathing, your digestion, your hormone, I mean everything, right?
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: Your nervous system is the thing that can override and kick over everything.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: And that's why I always drive home that nervous system work is so important because it doesn't matter, you know, how many supplements you're taking.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: You could be eating the cleanest diet, moving your body, and those are all fantastic things.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: However, if your nervous system is in fight or flight, none of that matters, right?
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: Because it's going to overpower it.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: So it's actually vital for keeping you not only regulated, right, but in that equilibrium state.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: And it really responds to the kind of the cues from the environment, right?
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: And so your nervous system has stories, wounding, trauma conditioning based on what happened to you in the past, right?
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: And based on your past environment.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: And then it receives cues from your current environment and it makes a reaction based on what happened in the past, which is why it is so very important that you correct these loops and these patterns so that your nervous system can start responding differently.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Because unless your nervous system learns that, hey, live, there's nothing to freak out about in this situation.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: Your nervous system is gonna keep eliciting that response, right?
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: It's gonna elicit that response in your romantic relationships.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: It's gonna listen that response when you look at your bank account or think about money.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: It's gonna elicit that response in your business.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: It's gonna elicit that response in terms of your physical body and your symptoms.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: So the autonomic system is made up of sympathetic, right?
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: Which is your fight or flight.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: Your heart rate increases, it increases glucose, and then you have your parasympathetic nervous system, which is your relaxation, right?
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: It promotes digestion, it lowers heart rate, which is why if you live in a fight or flight, your digestion is shit.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: You you literally cannot be in fight or flight and have digestion.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: It is a different operating system.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: It is like trying to operate a computer on one operating system.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: I don't know the name of the Mac operating system, but you get it on one operating system versus another.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: Like it's a completely different operating system.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: You cannot have one without the other.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: Like you cannot be in one and be in the other at the same time.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: It is either or.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: It is not the one, yeah, you cannot have one at the same time.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: There we go.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: And so when we think of these sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, right?
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: We have all of these wonderful nerve fibers, all of these nerves, and they converge at what are called plexuses in the body cavities, right?
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: So these plexuses are really big groups of nerve cells bundled together and then they branch out towards body organs or, you know, relaying messages.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: But these branches, you know, will go off to your liver and your stomach and your large intestine and small intestine, but also your heart and your lungs.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: I mean, they converge everywhere, right?
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: But being able to understand in these plexus areas where we can resolve things so that the outward message from these plexuses is that of parasympathetic instead of sympathetic, we actually change the way our body responds.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: So one of the plexuses that I want to focus on today is the celiac plexus, which is right below your bra line, kind of um where your ribs kind of go up and meet in that point, or again, right under where like your bra line is, it kind of lives right there, right at the base of the ribs, right close to the stomach.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: And so this plexus of nerves innervates the stomach along with your pancreas, your liver, so it includes controls blood sugar, um your intestines, and all of those kinds of things, right?
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: And so when we think about the fact that our gut is made up of, you know, organs of digestion, immunity, spleen, kidneys, adrenals, all of these things, then we can see how this one plexus kind of starts to communicate and regulate or dysregulate all of these areas.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: So think about it like this one spot has a bunch of branches going out that control everything in that section of your body, right?
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: Different places will be controlled by different sections, but essentially this is the one that controls everything, right?
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: And so then that's where we get kind of like the gut brain axis, right?
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: We all know that a lot of our brain is in our gut.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: The gut brain axis is this is kind of where a lot of it lives, right?
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: We have the brain, spinal cord, vagus nerve.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: It innervates in this nice collection that this plexus, then we have like the HPA axis, which controls, you know, fight or flight, and all of those things.
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: So we have two primary divisions in this area, right?
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: The vagus nerve and that that plexus, right, right below your bra line, which modulates the connection between the gut and your brain.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: Where is the or what is the key thing that lives in this one spot that will initiate your fight or flight response or not initiate your fight or flight response?
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: Personal power.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: This is the home of your personal power, this is where it lives or doesn't live.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: So having solid personal power means your nervous system doesn't get dysregulated.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: Your personal power rules your autonomic nervous system.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: So it is essential for a regulated nervous system to have solid, uncircumstantial personal power.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: Lack of personal power equals a dysregulated nervous system, right?
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: Because this branch, this plexus, that all these branches come out with and control like your liver, your pancreas, your blood glucose levels, your adrenals, how bloated you get.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: Controlled by this thing.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: It ripples like dominoes, right?
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: Beautiful.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: It's also very efficient, right?
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: Because if we fix this one plexus, it ripples like dominoes into every other area.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: It gets to the root.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: So let's look at this in a little bit more detail.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: I'm just hopping on to let you guys know about the new power program.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: This is changing the game when it comes to building uncircumstantial personal power.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: Your nervous system will never be the same.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: We will be covering everything to become unstoppable in your personal power.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: That personal power then gives you the audacity to truly be all that you are.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: We will be covering everything to break out of the wounding, trauma, and conditioning that creates circumstantial personal power, building that audacity to have a rock solid confidence and speak your truth, dissolving those physical symptoms that go with a lack of personal power, releasing fears and doubts, being able to set boundaries and hold them with ease so you no longer people please, how to not dip into your power no matter the circumstance, and be the one emitting your own power and really dissolving that feeling of being a victim of your life and really how to anchor in taking your power back and being the creator of it.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: It is so juicy, so good.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: We will leave the description for it down below as well as the link to join.
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: I am so excited to help you rewire your nervous system from all the stuck emotions and trauma and anchor in personal power.
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: We'll also be going through the exact processes and methods to build it so you don't dip ever again.
- 8:59SPEAKER_00: So if you want your nervous system to be unstoppable when it comes to personal power, take your power back and get off that roller coaster of external circumstance.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: I will see you inside.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: These plexuses really like it passes through that spot, right?
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: That spot right underneath your bra line and it innervates, like we know, the stomach, kidney, liver, even distilly, a little bit of reproductive organs.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: Those there are other ones that also control that.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: But this area is associated with the sympathetic nervous system, right?
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: It's the division of the nervous system responsible for the reactions of like fight, flight, freeze, and fawn.
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: These reactions are autonomic, right?
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: So they're outside of our voluntary control.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: So, and obviously we know they are somewhat protective, right?
- 9:45SPEAKER_00: They serve to inhibit or slow down like digestive functions, liver functions, um, adrenal functions during a stressful or traumatic experience.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: However, what happens is when your body doesn't realize that that threat is over, it starts to live in that sympathetic state and it's actually not able to then go into parasympathetic.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: And then what happens is not only have you not shifted into parasympathetic from those traumatic experiences that happened when you were younger, but what happens is when your brain perceives that threat regularly in your day-to-day life through your relationships, through your, you know, relationship with money, it doesn't matter, wherever personal power is being threatened with you, then that experience gets created again and again and again and again.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: And then you start to live in this state.
- 10:31SPEAKER_00: It is very, it is crucial.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: In order to heal all of those symptoms that are like innervated by this one plexus, you need to heal your personal power.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: It is unoptional, it is required.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: You need to be able to not like control, because we know it's automatic, but if we shift and rewire the way your brain, the way your nervous system perceives information, it will not jump into that fight or flight to begin with.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: It cannot do so if it's perceiving everything as fight or flight.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: Which brings me to like the vagus nerve, which if you're familiar with any kind of nervous system, you've probably heard of the vagus nerve, right?
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: It's the primary nerve associated with the parasympathetic nervous system.
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: It's the only nerve you actually want to enhance and tone and stimulate, right?
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: It's that rest, digest, reproduce, and heal.
- 11:24SPEAKER_00: So when activated, obviously this nerve stimulates the organs in a way that obviously digests, reproduces.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: So it stimulates digestion, allows rest, allows reproduction, allows healing.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: The vagus nerve is actually 90% sensory, meaning it primarily transmits information regarding the state and the condition of the structures it's connected to directly to the brain.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: However, this cannot jump in because as we know, survival mode will trumpet.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: So if you feel like you are trying to tone your vagus nerve and you're doing all of these things like dunking your face in ice water and whatever kind of you know new TikTok thing there is, those can be positive and those can be great.
- 12:05SPEAKER_00: However, it doesn't matter necessarily if you do all these things for your vagus nerve, if your survival mode mechanism can then trump it because you actually haven't rewired what it is that's triggering it in the first place.
- 12:20unknown: Right.
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: So your vagus nerve may be quite as strong, but if your body perceives survival mode, it's going to overpower the vagus nerve no matter what.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: So this is kind of like the key thing that most people either get caught up with or they feel like they need to then regulate their or to spend a lot of time to regulate your nervous system.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: Like it actually shouldn't take a lot of time to regulate your nervous system because if you actually shift the way your brain perceives information and the way your nervous system perceives things, you don't have to constantly regulate yourself after getting dysregulated.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: So it takes a lot less effort, right?
- 12:51SPEAKER_00: And so then instead of be thinking like, oh, it's gonna take so much time, it takes so much effort to regulate your nervous system, it actually takes a lot less effort once you've rewired those perceptions that your brain has made, and then everything else works better, including the toning you do if you're a vagus nerve, the movement you do, the clean eating you do, like everything just works better.
- 13:12SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: And so really think of those two major nervous systems, right?
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: Your sympathetic, that fiery stressor-based activation, you know, activates that solar plexus part of your body, sends out all those neurochemicals that then stop digestion, stop healing, stop restoration, stop everything.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: And then we have like the parasympathetic, which that calming, nurture the vagus nerve, soothes the body, rest, digest, reproduce, and heal.
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: And remember that the triggering of these functions, and whether that specific, you know, solar plexus nerve innervation gets triggered, that collection, that plexus of nerves is personal power.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: This is the majority of the communication between it.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: When we feel like our personal power is taken from us, when we don't exercise our personal power, that's when that gets dysregulated.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: By altering that state, by shifting your personal power and obviously developing strong, uncircumstantial personal power, you don't actually dip into dysregulation.
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: It's very efficient.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: It's like you don't even go there in the first place.
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: And so then you only actually go into sympathetic when you're running from a tiger and it is like you know, fight or flight, not living day-to-day life.
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: So I hope this episode was useful.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: I hope this really gave you an understanding as to why, you know, personal power is key for gut health, but also key for all those areas like liver, pancreas, um, blood glucose, adrenals, how the personal power really triggers the fight or flight response, and how healing that can obviously shift everything else.
- 14:40SPEAKER_00: So if you want to heal your personal power, this is obviously what we do in power.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: So we will be covering everything to build solid personal power inside the power program, including how to break out of the wounding trauma conditioning that creates that circumstantial personal power so that it rewires the way your brain perceives things so that you don't have to constantly try to regulate yourself after getting dysregulated, along with releasing the fears and doubt that keep your nervous system in that roller coaster and triggers the fight or flight response.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: By building this solid personal power, your nervous system literally does not trigger that response, at least nearly as often.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: Obviously, it will trigger it if you, you know, are in a life-death situation, but day to day, it should not be getting triggered, right?
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: And we want to make sure that we've actually completed the cycle, the trauma cycle, the wounding cycle, the emotional cycle from anything that's taken your personal power or threatened it from birth until now.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: So, with that being said, we will leave the link for that down below.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: I love you guys so much, and I will talk to you in the next episode.
