- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities CE OS and even royalty Adam Cox, these
- 0:21recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's world
- 0:24famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:38Hi, it's Adam here and this is a hypnosis session all about acid
- 0:43reflux and nausea. And it was created for a client
- 0:47that happened to be a child and for most of their life had a
- 0:51very, very sensitive stomach which would lead to acid reflux
- 0:56and would be enhanced in terms of intensity of the acid reflux
- 1:01and nausea if they had. Heavy.
- 1:03Food, spicy foods, or a lot of food.
- 1:06This hypnosis session actually uses the concept.
- 1:09Of. Superpowers like teleportation
- 1:13and being fearless to give them a sense of what it would feel
- 1:17like to be able to access different places in space and
- 1:22time where they would feel different about food, but also
- 1:26to tap into the fact that they already know how to make
- 1:29different choices to avoid lots of food or spicy food.
- 1:35It's about them respecting their body and the information it's
- 1:37telling them, but also to give them suggestions that actually
- 1:42their stomach is becoming more resilient, stronger, and that if
- 1:45any acid reflux or nausea comes, they know they've got the
- 1:49capability. To manage that.
- 1:52That's very important because otherwise it can feel that when
- 1:55it comes along it's devastating. But if you know that a sensation
- 1:58comes and you've handled it before and you're OK with it, it
- 2:01can still be undesirable but then manageable, which is much
- 2:05better If you can relate to acid reflux or nausea, you might get
- 2:08some value from this, even though it was created for a
- 2:11younger client. But if you like the idea of
- 2:13something more bespoke and calibrated to you, check out my
- 2:18website adamcox.co.uk or have a look in the description for
- 2:22various ways that you can work with me.
- 2:25For now though, find a quiet, comfortable place where you
- 2:28won't be distracted or disturbed.
- 2:30Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 3:16you breathe in, breathe in that slow, long breath of relaxation.
- 3:24And as you exhale, give permission to release any
- 3:33tension, any stress, any worries.
- 3:38As you breathe in, breathe in a feeling of optimism and
- 3:43positivity. And every time you breathe out,
- 3:49feel like you're letting go of any worries and anxieties, any
- 3:57thoughts that have been getting you down, just feel them leave
- 4:02your body. That's it.
- 4:09And you may notice that when you start to breathe slow and deep,
- 4:15your body relaxes. And when your body relaxes, your
- 4:22imagination gets more powerful. And right here, right now,
- 4:33there's nothing you have to do perfectly.
- 4:37And you don't need to try hard. Just open your attention to my
- 4:45voice and let your imagination do what it already does so well.
- 4:57That brain you have, the one that can imagine places,
- 5:03adventures, and incredible things.
- 5:09That same brain can also help your body feel calm, strong, and
- 5:16comfortable to take an even deeper slow breath in and then
- 5:27breathe out slowly and again, breathing in and breathing out
- 5:36slower and longer this time. And each time you breathe out,
- 5:45your stomach can soften a little, your shoulders can relax
- 5:52and loosen. Even the tiny muscles in your
- 5:56face, your jaw, around your neck, they can relax too.
- 6:05Your body is beginning to feel more and more comfortable.
- 6:14And if you need to change the position of your body to enable
- 6:17you to relax even deeper, just do that now.
- 6:26And as you relax even deeper, I wonder if you could imagine that
- 6:31somewhere near you, maybe on your wrist or maybe floating in
- 6:37the air in front of you, there was a small glowing button.
- 6:47And I want you to imagine this. Within your imagination is your
- 6:53teleport button, and anytime you press it, you can instantly
- 7:01travel anywhere across the world, across space, even across
- 7:11time. And your brain knows how to
- 7:17imagine that perfectly. And I wonder if you could
- 7:22imagine pressing the button now and then suddenly you teleport
- 7:31somewhere amazing, and maybe it's a beach or maybe the
- 7:37mountains or maybe somewhere in America that you've always
- 7:43wanted to see. Maybe a huge open sky where you
- 7:49can see for miles. And as your imagination takes
- 7:55you to that place, notice what it looks like there.
- 8:03Become aware of what it would feel like to be there.
- 8:06And when you're standing there in that amazing place, I want
- 8:15you to notice something fascinating about your body, how
- 8:20calm your body feels and your stomach or your gut feels
- 8:27settled and comfortable. Some people believe that when
- 8:34your mind feels safe and relaxed, then your body relaxes
- 8:40too. And I wonder if you can imagine
- 8:47that inside your stomach there's a small control dial, and you've
- 8:56played video games where you can turn up the volume or turn it
- 9:00down. And I wonder if you can imagine
- 9:06the Switch that can make things go up or go down.
- 9:14And sometimes when people eat too much spicy food or heavy
- 9:19food or just too much, the dial can turn up because there's more
- 9:28work for the stomach to do. And that doesn't mean that
- 9:33anything is wrong. It just means that the stomach
- 9:39is doing its job. But here's the cool part.
- 9:47How you breathe can turn down the dial, and every time you
- 9:55breathe out slowly through your nose, a long outward breath, it
- 10:03turns down that unsettled feeling there in the stomach.
- 10:11So try it now. Slow breath in, but a longer
- 10:19breath out, slow controlled from your nose, and then imagine
- 10:27whatever intensity it is there in your stomach, it just goes
- 10:33down 1. You could imagine perhaps a
- 10:37scale of 1 to 10, and if it feels like a nine, and when you
- 10:43breathe out it turns it into an 8, or an 8 becomes A7, or A7
- 10:51becomes a six, or a six becomes a 5.
- 10:57And anything that's four or less means your stomach feels
- 11:03completely fine. And what if your breath can just
- 11:08do that? Like a switch for your body to
- 11:14help you calm down. Your stomach not forced.
- 11:23Just by breathing out, you feel more comfortable and your
- 11:28stomach learns that it can stay calm and steady.
- 11:33Because your body is smart, it already knows what foods work
- 11:39best for you. Normal portions, normal foods,
- 11:48foods that can give energy or nutrition.
- 11:52And when something is too spicy or too heavy, your body simply
- 11:59sends a signal. Not a dangerous signal, just
- 12:03information. So you now have different ways
- 12:11to calm your stomach and your insides down.
- 12:18Your unconscious will help you choose foods that your body
- 12:22likes. And if it starts to feel
- 12:25unsettled, relaxing yourself and just having those deep long
- 12:32breaths can settle your stomach down within minutes.
- 12:40And I wonder if you can imagine pressing your teleport button
- 12:44again, just like you have a superpower, but this time it
- 12:53doesn't just move you somewhere else, it moves you through time.
- 13:02And I want you to imagine travelling forward into the
- 13:06future, and you can see yourself a little older, more confident,
- 13:16relaxed. And I want you to imagine seeing
- 13:19yourself eating comfortably, maybe laughing with friends,
- 13:26maybe going places or sleeping peacefully.
- 13:31And I want you to notice how that future version of you
- 13:35moves, how they breathe, how calm their stomach feels.
- 13:45Because that version of you has already learned something.
- 13:51And that is that uncomfortable feelings don't last very long.
- 13:58They're always temporary and they always pass.
- 14:06And the body knows how to recover quickly.
- 14:10And when you're certain that that future version of yourself
- 14:17has a calm stomach, that that version of you doesn't feel
- 14:24worried about what you eat or how much you eat, and step into
- 14:31that future version of yourself so you can feel what it feels
- 14:36like to be that calm, to be that confident, and to be that
- 14:46comfortable in your body. Press the teleportation back to
- 14:53the present and maybe that place, a place where you feel
- 15:01relaxed. It could be anywhere in the
- 15:03world. And just imagine that for one
- 15:09day you get a superpower. I want you to imagine you can
- 15:17already teleport, but I want you to imagine for just one day you
- 15:22can be fearless. For one whole day you can try
- 15:27anything. Not because nothing feels
- 15:32uncomfortable or nothing feels scary, but because with his
- 15:38superpower, you know with absolute certainty that you can
- 15:45handle it. And I wonder what you would do
- 15:50with that one day of feeling so confident you could do anything.
- 16:02You could teleport to an amazing sky up in a plane and you can go
- 16:10skydiving floating through the air, calm, excited and free.
- 16:15Or maybe you teleport somewhere fun in America, maybe a big
- 16:22theme park, and you spend all day riding roller coasters,
- 16:26feeling the rush. And you're there with all your
- 16:30friends, laughing. And even though those roller
- 16:37coasters are fast, your stomach feels steady and strong.
- 16:44Well, then maybe at night you teleport to a sleepover with
- 16:48friends. You just imagine talking and
- 16:53laughing, feeling relaxed. And later that night when
- 16:59everyone goes to sleep, your body stays calm, you're
- 17:06breathing slow, your stomach peaceful because your brain
- 17:15remembers something really important, that you are safe,
- 17:22you are supported, and your body knows exactly how to rest.
- 17:31And then imagine perhaps in a different place, you can imagine
- 17:36bedtime and you lie down and your breathing is slow.
- 17:43And just imagine that switch, that dial for your stomach
- 17:50moving all the way down so it's settled and relaxed.
- 17:57And just know that your body is digesting comfortably and your
- 18:02mind is becoming quiet and sleep arrives naturally, just like
- 18:09it's supposed to, because sleep isn't something you have to try
- 18:15to do when the body feels calm. Sleep comes easily and each time
- 18:27you listen to this you could have a different day, different
- 18:33places, different experiences. It might be roller coasters on
- 18:40one day and then a water park on another, skydiving on one and
- 18:47perhaps doing something like horse riding or something else
- 18:55on another. But for now, it's time to press
- 18:59your telephone teleport button one more time and just return to
- 19:04where you started. Only now you bring something
- 19:09back with you. You bring back confidence, a
- 19:15feeling of self-control and the knowledge that your body is
- 19:21strong. Because for everyone, sometimes
- 19:27stomachs feel uncomfortable and sometimes people do get sick.
- 19:36But it always passes. It never lasts forever.
- 19:41And now that you know how to stay calm and those long slow
- 19:47breaths turn the dial down. Every calm moment makes you
- 19:55stronger. Take a slow breath in, in
- 20:01through your nose and out through your nose and then
- 20:06wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes as you start to float
- 20:12all the way back into your physical body.
- 20:15Wherever you are right now, listening to my voice and very
- 20:19soon I will count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 20:26And you will wake up feeling calm, confident, with a belief
- 20:33that your stomach is adapting, changing, becoming stronger.
- 20:40And any thoughts about vomiting or nausea don't seem to worry
- 20:46you or bother you so much. So let's count from 1:00 to
- 20:5010:00 to awaken you. Starting the count 123 Waking up
- 20:58456 More alert 7-8 Open your eyes.
