- 0:00Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:03access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing genuine
- 0:07issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:10hypnotherapist, demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:14royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:41Hi, it's Adam here. And in this hypnosis session,
- 0:44you're going to be listening to a hypnosis session all about
- 0:48food and compulsions with food. And I was working with a client
- 0:54that had certain foods that they associated with their past and
- 0:58they were linking it to things like freedom and support and
- 1:01connection and in their mind certain.
- 1:05Foods like cheese. Meant freedom.
- 1:08Now obviously that's not true, but if the meaning is closely
- 1:12associated to a food that it can feel that way in the same way
- 1:16that some people might associate alcohol with.
- 1:19Fun or? Smoking with relaxation, people
- 1:22can certainly link certain feelings with food and that can
- 1:24create these compulsions. So in this particular hypnosis
- 1:28session, there is a metaphor. Levels of.
- 1:31Disassociation that use a forest.
- 1:34They start to disassociate from the old meanings and to
- 1:37introduce new meanings. Or.
- 1:39Alternatives that are linked to the same meanings to give them
- 1:43more choice. And.
- 1:44Freedom. So for this particular client,
- 1:47it was things like wine and cheese and things like cakes and
- 1:52things like that, that that was their association with positive
- 1:56emotions. I want you to think what are
- 1:58your foods that you feel like you have strong connections and
- 2:02associations to that is leading you to eat more of that thing
- 2:06that perhaps isn't quite so good for your health.
- 2:09And then by thinking about that when you listen to things like
- 2:11cheese and wine in this recording, you can just mentally
- 2:15replace them with whatever the. Equivalent is.
- 2:17For you and then that way you'll feel more benefit from this
- 2:21hypnosis session than if you just listen to what was
- 2:23recorded. For that client.
- 2:26Obviously it was created for an individual client, so if you do
- 2:28like the idea of a bespoke hypnosis session, I'm going to
- 2:33put 2 links connected to the description.
- 2:37One is for you to take a suitability test and this is a
- 2:4062nd test just for you to figure out if hypnotherapy is a
- 2:45suitable thing for you. And there'll also be a link for
- 2:48you to book a free consultation call.
- 2:50So if that appeals to you. Check out the links in the
- 2:53descripcion. For now though, find a quiet,
- 2:55comfortable place where you won't be disturbed.
- 2:58Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 3:54you breathe in, breathe in that slow, long, relaxing breath and
- 4:05as you exhale, feel a wonderful sense of release, as if any
- 4:13tension, stress and worries is being released in every outward
- 4:20breath, almost like a release valve.
- 4:29Sometimes people hold on to emotions, they build up, and I
- 4:37want you to get a sense that now is the time to release them.
- 4:45As you breathe in that feeling of resourceful relaxation and
- 4:52exhale any tension, any stress, any worries.
- 5:00So much so that each breath takes you deeper and deeper.
- 5:11Relaxed now. And the deeper you breathe, the
- 5:27more relaxed you become. And the more relaxed you become,
- 5:35the deeper you breathe with every breath.
- 5:45Imagine breathing in clarity and just breathing out any tension,
- 5:53any frustrations as you allow your body to settle, settling
- 6:07into that warm, natural, comfortable place.
- 6:17As your body relaxes, your imagination is elevated, and I
- 6:25wonder if you could imagine a forest clearing.
- 6:33Blue skies and sunshine above the forest.
- 6:37But you're in the forest, seeing the sunshine like a beam of
- 6:44light into the clearing. And every now and then you see
- 6:53you see those beams of light, you're finding gaps in the
- 6:57canopy above. And maybe you could imagine the
- 7:08sound of a breeze or even birdsong enhancing this
- 7:13experience within your imagination.
- 7:23I want you to get a sense that for some reason here in this
- 7:31forest, you feel slightly uncomfortable, perhaps even
- 7:40hungry. But I want you to imagine there,
- 7:48perhaps near the clearing or deeper in the forest.
- 7:54I wonder if you could imagine seeing a wild Berry Bush, fresh,
- 8:01abundant, bursting with a particular fruit, a particular
- 8:07Berry. Or maybe this Berry Bush,
- 8:15because it's in your imagination, offers you every
- 8:22different variety of Berry. And as you reach out to pick a
- 8:28Berry, I wonder if you can notice the colours, the texture
- 8:43as you bring it up towards your mouth.
- 8:46Notice the size, Imagine the density or pressure of the
- 8:58berries. You give it a squeeze and then
- 9:02imagine tasting 1. Maybe you could imagine an
- 9:10explosion of taste as your teeth burst open the Berry.
- 9:21And as you taste it, imagine how good it would feel to feel that
- 9:28you're tasting the very essence of freedom, something grown by
- 9:36nature, unprocessed, perhaps what your body recognizes as
- 9:46good, nourishing and pure. And as you breathe slower and
- 9:59deeper now, your unconscious mind can begin to remember what
- 10:08true support feels like, not just in food, but in choices, in
- 10:21discernment, entrusting yourself to choose, not react.
- 10:30A compulsion, a craving, doesn't force you to do anything, just
- 10:41information. Because the choice is yours and
- 10:48yours alone. And as you wander deeper into
- 10:55the forest, now imagine noticing something, something about
- 11:03yourself. You are not a tourist or a
- 11:08visitor in this forest. You are a forager, a seeker of
- 11:18nourishment, wisdom and clarity, where every step you take is a
- 11:31decision. You can walk past some things
- 11:38and choose others. Perhaps you have a basket or a
- 11:45bag, and when something catches your eye, something that looks
- 11:50appealing, imagine picking or plucking, foraging for that
- 11:59food, placing it into that bag or that basket, realizing that
- 12:08you don't need everything, you don't even want everything.
- 12:16You just choose what supports you, what connects you, and what
- 12:22frees you, just like in life, because you don't need to
- 12:30consume something just because it's there.
- 12:39Locate somewhere within your body where you feel the resource
- 12:45of discernment, that place that knows the difference between an
- 12:52impulse and intuition. That distinction, that
- 13:00difference, gives you power. In the same way that you can
- 13:07distinguish between a meaning and an association, you can also
- 13:20create the distinction between a compulsion and a mindful choice.
- 13:35Imagine going deeper into the forest now, and imagine
- 13:41discovering something strange in the forest.
- 13:45Imagine there, deep in the forest, a long wooden table.
- 13:55And on that table are items linked to your past.
- 14:06Maybe what you're seeing on the table is something that you can
- 14:14remember from your childhood glass of sparkling wine, or the
- 14:26kind of wine that people used to drink in your hometown under a
- 14:32tree. A particular variety of cheese.
- 14:43Maybe it's a plate of smoked meats, all different varieties.
- 14:53Or perhaps a slice of cheesecake.
- 14:59Each one has a connection and association.
- 15:09Maybe they also hold an emotion. But as you look closer, you
- 15:18realize the story is not the food.
- 15:25The story is you. Wine isn't connection.
- 15:34Connection is your attention. Noticing smells, tastes and
- 15:40sounds and cheese isn't freedom. Choices are freedom and these
- 15:55foods that used to feel like support.
- 16:01What if other foods would support your health and your
- 16:09identity much better? So now, when you see those items
- 16:16on that long wooden table, you can thank them for their role in
- 16:24your past, in your journey. You can honor the memories.
- 16:32But it is now time to reclaim the meanings.
- 16:40The meanings are what you give to them.
- 16:49And just because there was an association, it doesn't mean
- 16:55that that food or drink means that it was just a link.
- 17:02And links can change and you no longer need to consume the past
- 17:11to feel whole in the present. It's time to create new
- 17:17associations, stronger ones, wiser ones, intentional ones.
- 17:36Move those old foods to one end of the table, and then decide to
- 17:44manifest new foods on the same table.
- 17:51Imagine the foods that represent a future of more connection,
- 17:57more support, more freedom. And perhaps you could imagine a
- 18:07bowl of wild berries, Vibrant, nourishing, nutritious.
- 18:18Or perhaps a fillet of salmon in exactly the way that makes it
- 18:25most desirable. Maybe that would support your
- 18:31future better than those old foods of the past.
- 18:42Perhaps you could manage some spinach next to the salmon, and
- 18:49your intuition lets you know eating food like that will
- 18:54support you in the present and the future.
- 19:03I want you to see that spinach, the particular shade of green,
- 19:13and maybe there's things connected to it.
- 19:17A dressing of oil, Crystals of salt.
- 19:25Maybe somewhere on that table are foraged foods like
- 19:31mushrooms, Fruits picked from trees.
- 19:41What if these new foods aren't just nutritious?
- 19:48What if these are messengers, resources that whenever you eat
- 19:58these foods, they make you feel freer, more connected, more
- 20:08supported, and the moment you decide it's true, then those old
- 20:20foods simply lose their appeal because it was never about the
- 20:25food. What you were seeking was the
- 20:30meaning linked to them, and the moment that same meaning has a
- 20:38stronger connection to different foods, those new foods, healthy,
- 20:46nutritious, fresh and natural, become the more appealing for
- 20:53you. I want you to get a sense that
- 21:04you're already feeling freer, more connected, but more
- 21:08mindful, and it's time to start eating some of these foraged or
- 21:15found or fresh foods. Every bite of these foods
- 21:22reinforces your ability to choose wisely, and every time
- 21:28you prepare them, you are reminded there is no obligation.
- 21:36This is a choice. You are choosing to enjoy and
- 21:39experience these foods mindfully.
- 21:51And even if these foods were cooked, there is no obligation
- 21:57to eat more than you desire. You eat what you desire then in
- 22:05the moment, and any excess can either be saved for later or
- 22:15thrown away. It is not wasted if you choose
- 22:23to throw it away. That is discernment.
- 22:30High standards. You are the guardian as to what
- 22:37food passes your lips and if you don't want it, you don't have
- 22:45it. Your fridge is not a graveyard.
- 22:53There's a pause button. Fresh food, refrigerated and
- 23:01sealed, can preserve all of that time, energy and emotion to
- 23:10create the meal and deploy it for later.
- 23:16Because some of the healthiest people on the planet, athletes
- 23:26prepare their food before they eat it.
- 23:30Sometimes it's kept in those plastic containers and sometimes
- 23:37it's frozen. That is their choice.
- 23:43That is their freedom to capture nutrients and deploy them for
- 23:48later. Let's imagine taking all of
- 23:54these changes, leaving the forest and going to a place in
- 24:00your future. And I want you to imagine a big
- 24:07banquet, a celebration, and at that celebration, delicious
- 24:18cheeses, smoked meats, fine wines.
- 24:28But I want you to get a sense that these are options, not
- 24:34obligations. And instead of pressure, you
- 24:40feel ease because you know how to choose.
- 24:50And you can choose to eat any of these foods.
- 24:54Or maybe you prefer that salmon, that spinach, that fruit, that
- 25:03vegetable the moment you have to do something.
- 25:15You lose your. Freedom.
- 25:19You get to choose what you eat, when you eat it, and how you eat
- 25:27it. But when your choices align with
- 25:33your values, then you are eating mindfully in an empowered way.
- 25:46You are enhancing your life now and in the future.
- 25:55Feel that sense of freedom to choose what you want in the
- 25:59banquet. And with every choice, you're
- 26:03writing a new story, creating new meanings, new connections.
- 26:10But notice the feeling of freedom and connection.
- 26:16It's time to leave this banquet. But you leave the banquet
- 26:22feeling empowered with a desire to mindfully eat.
- 26:29Mindfully eating is eating in a truly connected way.
- 26:38And if you're going to mindfully eat anything, why not mindfully
- 26:45eat those foods that have powerful, strong, positive
- 26:50connotations? It's time to leave this banquet.
- 26:57Find yourself back in the forest and then decide to leave the
- 27:01forest, returning all the way back to the here and the now.
- 27:10So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 27:16nose. Just wiggle your fingers and
- 27:19wiggle your toes. Connect and calibrate into the
- 27:21here and the now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you
- 27:31Starting to count 123 waking up 456 more alert 78910 wide awake,
- 27:42wide awake, wide awake. Thank you for listening to The
