- 0:05Welcome to the Hypnotist. The show.
- 0:08That gives you inside access to cutting edge hypnosis with real
- 0:11clients facing genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi, it's Adam here. And you're about to listen to a
- 0:41sleep hypnosis session that was created for a client that would
- 0:45quite often get up about once or twice every single night to go
- 0:49to the toilet, even though they didn't really need to.
- 0:52And there was a big difference between something called
- 0:55Nocturus, where you wake up in the night because you really do
- 0:59need to empty your bladder, and just.
- 1:01Feeling a low? Level of sensitivity and then
- 1:04going to the toilet anyway, and this client would actually do
- 1:08that would feel a very low level.
- 1:10On a scale of 1 to 10, like a 2 or a 3.
- 1:12It's a very mild level, certainly not a desperate need
- 1:15to go to the toilet. And because they would get up,
- 1:18it almost formed a habit. So if you wake up consistently
- 1:22at a particular time, you're more likely to do that the
- 1:24following day. But also you're kind of
- 1:27rewarding that part that says, hey, you need to wake up acting
- 1:31as if the false alarm is actually true.
- 1:33So this hypnosis session has lots of metaphors about, false
- 1:37alarms about. Things that are.
- 1:39Too sensitive even a metaphor of the story of the boy who cried
- 1:44wolf to frame. These low levels of.
- 1:49Sensitivity in the bladder as false alarms as not worth
- 1:53getting out of bed for and then also levels of disassociation
- 1:58taking 2. Places that they.
- 1:59Felt very relaxed in a childhood bed that they felt very, very
- 2:03comfortable in, and then an element of working with a part
- 2:07that was alerting them to recalibrate so that they would
- 2:10only do that if they actually needed to go to the toilet.
- 2:14Because in the same way it's not good to wake up if you don't
- 2:17really need to go to the toilet, it's also not good to not wake
- 2:21up if you really do need to go to the toilet.
- 2:23And I've worked with many people that suffer from bed wetting,
- 2:26and that's also not a good outcome.
- 2:27So as with most things, the optimal part is somewhere in
- 2:31between. Sensitive enough to wake up if
- 2:33you really do need to go to the toilet, but not to wake up when
- 2:37you actually don't. So if you can relate to that, if
- 2:40you can relate to waking up several times throughout the
- 2:43night or even just wants to go to the toilet and you don't
- 2:45really need to, you'll get a lot of value from that.
- 2:47But it also acts as a very powerful sleep hypnosis session
- 2:51anyway. So if you have trouble sleeping,
- 2:53there's lots of suggestions about sleep and the ending
- 2:56actually ends with the key suggestion of drifting off into
- 3:00a sleep. If you're listening to this
- 3:02right before bedtime, it was created for an individual
- 3:05client. Some of the suggestions that
- 3:07relate to waking up at night due to bladder sensitivity might not
- 3:12be relevant for you, but they were relevant for the client.
- 3:14So if you like the idea of a bespoke session, there will be a
- 3:17link in the description where you can schedule a free
- 3:19consultation call to explore Working with me for now though.
- 3:22Find a quiet comfortable. Place where?
- 3:24You won't be disturbed. Relax.
- 3:26And enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 4:07you breathe in, breathe in a feeling of calm relaxation, and
- 4:17as you exhale, feel a sense of release, as if any tension,
- 4:26stress or worries starting to leave your body in your outward
- 4:32breath and notice. That as you.
- 4:38Slow down your breathing and breathe in for longer.
- 4:44Notice that as you exhale, even more of that stress or tension
- 4:55can be released. And I want you to scan your body
- 5:00and look for the hidden clues of tension.
- 5:05And sometimes it's very subtle tightness in the jaw, certain
- 5:13position of the arms or the legs.
- 5:17And just imagine breathing in that feeling of complete calm
- 5:22and relaxation that starts to melt away any tension.
- 5:30That's it. And I want you to think of a
- 5:35place out in nature where you feel completely relaxed and
- 5:43calm. Maybe a lake?
- 5:47A forest. Or a beach and imagine what it
- 5:50would be like to be there in that place in nature on a warm
- 5:58day with sunshine. And I wonder if the deeper you
- 6:07breathe, the more relaxed you become.
- 6:10As your body relaxes, your imagination awakens.
- 6:14I wonder if you could imagine a very comfortable bed there in
- 6:22that place in nature. And a bed normally isn't in
- 6:28nature, and yet there it is, a comfy bed, a firm mattress and a
- 6:37soft pillow. I don't want you to imagine what
- 6:41it would feel like to imagine lying on that bed in nature,
- 6:45listening to the sounds of nature.
- 6:53If it's a beach, maybe the waves.
- 6:56If it's a forest, maybe the wind rustling through the leaves.
- 7:03And if it's a lake, perhaps the sound of certain birds or the
- 7:13gentle sound of the water just bobbing up and down.
- 7:21Or hitting the shore and just imagine your head on a pillow
- 7:29listening to those sounds, feeling a wonderful sense of
- 7:33peace and relaxation, recalling a time from the past where you
- 7:41found it effortless to drift off into a nap out there in nature.
- 7:52And even if that nap was just 5 minutes, just allow that part
- 7:57that knows how to feel relaxed even outside to get to that
- 8:03space. And as I count 5 down to 1, I
- 8:08want you to imagine drifting off into a dream like sleep. 5 Any
- 8:17muscles in your forehead, jaw, face, and cheeks just relaxing.
- 8:224 Neck and shoulders releasing any tension.
- 8:28Three arms feeling limp and loose like the limbs of a puppet
- 8:33with no strings. 2 Your lungs, your heart, your stomach all
- 8:40relax down into your gut. And then one feeling your legs
- 8:45feel limp, loose and heavy, like your arms drifting off into a
- 8:50dreamlike sleep. And in that dreamlike sleep,
- 8:56you're standing beside you, standing next to the bed, seeing
- 9:01your conscious mind fast asleep, lifting up your hand just to see
- 9:08how relaxed your arm is, and letting it flop back down by
- 9:13your side. That's it.
- 9:18Because that part, your unconscious part, wants to see a
- 9:25future of a much deeper, better quality sleep.
- 9:32And just imagine walking away from the bed and seeing a
- 9:38staircase downwards. And a staircase does not
- 9:42normally exist out in nature, but I want you to imagine seeing
- 9:48a staircase that leads down to a basement, a familiar safe
- 9:54basement. Imagine standing at the top of
- 9:58the staircase. And very soon I will count down
- 10:02from 12:50 and you will imagine descending that staircase into a
- 10:08basement, perhaps you can recall from childhood, maybe decorated
- 10:16and positioned exactly as it was when you were thirteen years old
- 10:2110. Taking the first step down the
- 10:23staircase 9. Another step down, feeling
- 10:27deeper, relaxed now. Eight.
- 10:31Another step down, always feeling like you're floating
- 10:35down now. 7 even more relaxed 6 and five halfway down 4 might be
- 10:45starting to see the basement. Three arms and legs getting even
- 10:50more relaxed 2 melting any more tension. 1 and 0.
- 10:58You are no longer in nature. You are now at the foot of a
- 11:03staircase, now in a basement from childhood, and I want you
- 11:10to imagine looking around old things you'd forgotten, maybe a
- 11:16poster, maybe some games, certain pictures or books.
- 11:28And I want you to imagine seeing the bed, that bed with a metal
- 11:34frame, perhaps those plastic wheels just under the leg of
- 11:44each frame. I want you to imagine feeling
- 11:48the pressure of the mattress, the texture of the duvet or
- 11:54blanket, the softness of the pillow.
- 12:00And I want you to imagine what it would feel like to lie on
- 12:08that mattress. No sunlight to disturb you.
- 12:15And I want you to reconnect without feeling of ease.
- 12:21A time when you could trust yourself to sleep for hours and
- 12:26only awake when you need to. I want you to imagine feeling
- 12:40the stillness, the calmness, the safety, the relaxation.
- 12:47In this basement there are no alarms and definitely no false
- 12:52alarms, only peace. And I want you to imagine in the
- 13:00house above and even ground level above, the world
- 13:06continues. Busy, noisy, maybe even bright.
- 13:13But down here in the basement, you are in the quiet center of
- 13:19the world. That's it.
- 13:29Deeper and deeper. Relaxed, because the body knows
- 13:32what to do. The mind knows how to rest, and
- 13:40that soft sound of the world above becomes like a distant
- 13:44lullaby, reminding you that you can simply drift further and
- 13:56further down, like a Pebble sinking through calm Clearwater,
- 14:04settling gently into the sand at the bottom of a still lake.
- 14:12And from this place of deep peace, I want you to notice
- 14:18something. Back then it didn't exist, but
- 14:25more recently it has a part of your mind that acts like an
- 14:30alarm system, and maybe that part thought it was helping.
- 14:39Did it learn to wake you with the faintest sensation, as
- 14:46though a small, harmless feeling was a full blown emergency?
- 14:54Like a smoke detector that goes off just when someone makes
- 14:57toast? It means well, but it's too
- 15:03sensitive. And just as a detector can be
- 15:09adjusted, your unconscious can learn the difference between a
- 15:17mild sensation and a real sensation, between real danger
- 15:25and a false alarm. Your body can still protect you.
- 15:32It always will. But now it will do so wisely,
- 15:41sensibly, calmly. From now on.
- 15:50That part that's been trying to help understands that it's been
- 15:56hindering interrupting your sleep.
- 16:01So from now on, only a true and genuine need, a strong and clear
- 16:11signal, will reach the surface of your awareness because your
- 16:20unconscious knows the correct threshold.
- 16:25Let's call it A7 out of 10 and anything below that is simply
- 16:33background noise. Because sometimes when you sleep
- 16:39there is background noise and it doesn't awaken you, but an alarm
- 16:45clock may. I want you to feel that that
- 16:50part is learning the difference. I want you to recall the time
- 16:58that you had a need to go to the toilet at a 7 or 8 or higher and
- 17:06almost project that sensation to train that part to know when you
- 17:15need to be awakened. And anything below that doesn't
- 17:22pass the threshold. And when those faint, low level
- 17:29sensations appear, I want you to imagine them like that story of
- 17:36the boy who once cried wolf. The boy who cried wolf only
- 17:46convinced the villagers to send help twice, and even when there
- 17:54was a wolf on the third time, he wasn't believed.
- 18:03I want you to imagine then my old sensations are false alarms,
- 18:10like the boy who cried wolf. And you will not reward false
- 18:17alarms. With real behaviour.
- 18:21Otherwise the body will act as if the false alarms were real
- 18:25alarms and wake you up even when you don't need awakening.
- 18:33So if you are unconscious, is willing to raise the threshold,
- 18:41and that part of you that is disciplined, has very high
- 18:46levels of self-control, is willing to not be motivated by
- 18:52false alarms anymore, let me know by nodding your head.
- 19:01And if you feel those sensations at the usual times, just imagine
- 19:08the opposite of fear. Maybe that's defiance or comfort
- 19:14or relaxation. I want you to imagine having
- 19:19those sensations at night and just smiling and maybe think
- 19:24internally. No, not this time, not tonight,
- 19:31not fooled again, not anymore. And that closes a loop because
- 19:38your own criteria is your bladder needs to feel like a 7
- 19:43out of 10 in order to justify leaving this cosy place of
- 19:50slumber. And you don't even need to open
- 19:57your eyes to evaluate what that sensation is.
- 20:04You don't need to change the rhythm of your breathing.
- 20:08In fact, you may just smile yawn, knowing.
- 20:14That within seconds or minutes you will drift off into an even
- 20:19deeper sleep. And as you drift, you reward
- 20:27your body with deeper sleep because the body learns what is
- 20:33rewarded. In the past, you rewarded that
- 20:38overly sensitive part by acting as if its concerns were real.
- 20:46But each time, now that you stay in bed and each time you refuse
- 20:52the false alarm, you teach your unconscious a powerful truth.
- 21:01Only real needs deserve attention.
- 21:07Only emergencies will be rewarded with action.
- 21:13Anything else is not a concern. Your bladder, your breathing,
- 21:22your heart, your mind are all wise and all communicate in
- 21:29alignment with each other. And as you sleep tonight, your
- 21:37unconscious begins rewriting those signals, recalibrating
- 21:43that inner detector to the ideal sensitivity.
- 21:50Alert when necessary, silent when safe.
- 21:59And it learns that mild sensations at night are just
- 22:04dreams of sensation, not calls to action.
- 22:15And I don't know how long it will take until your mind and
- 22:19body feels safe. I want you to imagine that you
- 22:28can rest knowing that your unconscious mind is always on
- 22:33guard for your well-being. But it can also guard your
- 22:38sleep, because good sleep is good well-being.
- 22:48And if in the night you do awaken for any reason at all, I
- 22:56want you to imagine how quickly you can evaluate is this real or
- 23:04just a false alarm? And if it's nothing urgent,
- 23:10nothing important, just allow the thought to disappear like a
- 23:18cloud drifting across the sky, and notice how quickly you can
- 23:27sink back into an even deeper, even more nourishing sleep than
- 23:34before. Because the lesson is learned.
- 23:40The pattern is set, You are retraining your mind to honour
- 23:50the rhythm, the rhythm of your night, of your sleep, of a new
- 23:57relationship with your unconscious mind.
- 24:03And I wonder if you could imagine maybe a week from today,
- 24:08awakening in the morning, maybe checking the clock or.
- 24:13Even an application. And realizing that you slept
- 24:19straight through 7 or 8 hours of solid, uninterrupted sleep.
- 24:34And another night after that you feel the same level of
- 24:38confidence. Body, bladder, your
- 24:43subconscious, your intuition, all working in harmony, trusting
- 24:49each other again, so that each night you sleep longer, deeper,
- 24:58and your energy in the day grows stronger.
- 25:02Because the mind and body have relearned their natural
- 25:07partnership. And even if one night you do
- 25:14need to wake, it's fine. You handle it calmly,
- 25:20efficiently, and drift back down quickly.
- 25:27But most nights, you just dream. Peacefully, deeply,
- 25:36continuously. Then right now, there's nothing
- 25:45more you need to do. No alarms, no worries, no false
- 25:50calls. Just the slow rhythm of your
- 25:54breathing, the heaviness of your eyelids, the comfort of your bed
- 26:03as you descend into the deepest sleep of the night, Drifting
- 26:12down through the layers of rest, knowing that your body will only
- 26:18awaken you for a genuine reason or because you've had all of the
- 26:25sleep you need, enabling you to sleep right through until it's
- 26:34time to awaken. I want you to imagine that now
- 26:45you have a subconscious choice if you're listening to this, to
- 26:52prepare your mind to sleep but don't want to sleep fully now.
- 26:59And very soon I will count from one to 10.
- 27:02And when I arrive at 10, you will awaken.
- 27:06But if you're listening to this at night just before you drift
- 27:12off to sleep, then when I count from one to 10, it will simply
- 27:18take you even deeper into that deep, regenerative, peaceful
- 27:27sleep. Your unconscious will know
- 27:32nothing you need to do or decide as I count from 1:00 to 10:00,
- 27:43123, 456, 789 and 10. Thank you so much for joining me
