- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:41Hi, it's Adam here. And on today's episode of The
- 0:44Hypnotist, you're going to be listening to a hypnosis session
- 0:48created for a client that had a very serious medical issue with
- 0:54their brain, an aneurysm that really needed attention.
- 0:59They had the attention and they were in recovery.
- 1:04But unfortunately, what was happening as a side effect of
- 1:08the original element of the issue is that when they had this
- 1:14aneurysm. They collapsed.
- 1:16And then from that point onwards, even though the medical
- 1:19attention that they received was the right attention, any
- 1:23feelings in certain locations would feel a sense of anxiety,
- 1:27but also dizziness. And that was actually causing
- 1:32anticipatory fear, which was impeding their ability to be in
- 1:36situations where they might be around other people,
- 1:40particularly public types of situations.
- 1:43There was a feeling of anxiety in those situations.
- 1:48Now, it was long since the issue had been resolved, but the echo
- 1:53of that was the anxiety and feelings of dizziness.
- 1:57And by the way, these dizzy spells weren't very long.
- 2:00They were just a a few minutes and then they would go away.
- 2:04But there was a feeling that because there was this dizziness
- 2:07when they collapsed the first time, that this could mean
- 2:10something more serious. So what you're going to hear in
- 2:13this hypnosis session is a reframe, and this reframe is
- 2:17positioning a. Part.
- 2:20Of them as almost a bit of a troublemaker, a bit of a cheeky
- 2:24Rascal that is causing a bit of mayhem.
- 2:28But also that the dizziness is an echo of a previous event and
- 2:33not the event itself. And by framing it as an echo, it
- 2:38seems to distance and disassociate from the original
- 2:43actual event that did take place.
- 2:46Now, the cheeky Rascal is a deliberate term because what
- 2:49we're doing is that this part that is causing the anxiety has
- 2:55a protective intention, but in doing so, it's actually causing
- 2:59a bit of problems and mayhem for them.
- 3:02So this element of calling it a cheeky Rascal, which in British
- 3:07English would be a term of endearment of normally a child
- 3:12that is being troublesome, but in a, a playful or a cheeky way,
- 3:16not in a a hurtful or a mean way.
- 3:20And therefore it gives it a lens to look through where it's more
- 3:25playful rather than destructive. And a combination of these
- 3:30things about the Echo and the Cheeky Rascal is a way to make
- 3:35the feelings of dizziness feel very manageable, feel very
- 3:41temporary, and feel that it doesn't have to escalate or
- 3:45amplify into something more serious.
- 3:48I think anyone with recurring feelings of dizziness will
- 3:51benefit to some extent from this, but obviously be aware
- 3:54that it was created for a very specific client in certain
- 3:57circumstances. And if you like the idea of a
- 4:00bespoke session then look for the link in the show notes and
- 4:04you can schedule that free Zoom consultation call and we'll have
- 4:07a chat to see if the right hypnotherapist to work for you.
- 4:12For now, though, find a quiet, comfortable place where you
- 4:14won't be disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 4:44Take a deep breath in and as you breathe in, imagine breathing in
- 4:53a wonderful feeling of calm and relaxation.
- 5:00Breathing in that wonderful feeling of relaxation and as you
- 5:04exhale, allow yourself to feel like any tension, stress or
- 5:13worries is starting to leave your body in that outward
- 5:19breath. As you breathe in and breathe
- 5:24out, become aware of your centre of gravity, the feeling of your
- 5:32body, and position your body in a way that feels more
- 5:37comfortable if that helps. And allow yourself, as you
- 5:45breathe in and breathe out, to fill your eyelids, getting
- 5:49heavier and more relaxed, breathing in, gently exhaling,
- 6:03just like the soft ebb and flow of waves on a warm tropical
- 6:11beach. And I want you to use the power
- 6:16of your imagination to go back to a memory of a specific
- 6:24tropical beach. Only this time, imagine that you
- 6:30have that beach all for yourself, no one there but you
- 6:37on the soft white sands, seeing the palm trees, blue skies and
- 6:44sunshine, and notice the waves rising and falling and gently
- 6:53breaking on the shore. I want you to feel that this is
- 7:00a safe, comfortable moment, a safe place inside your
- 7:06imagination to enable you to let go of any tension, any worries,
- 7:14to allow your emotions to reset. You've been through a lot and
- 7:23therefore your brain, your mind has been trying to keep you safe
- 7:30by being vigilant and cautious. But it's come at a cost.
- 7:38And I want you to feel that with all of these tests, all of these
- 7:47scans, you don't need to worry about some of these things
- 7:53anymore. So just feel that you're on that
- 7:59beach, standing barefoot on soft white sands.
- 8:09They're on the shore of that beautiful tropical beach.
- 8:15Maybe you could imagine the air is warm, maybe a gentle breeze
- 8:20on your skin, and imagine hearing the rhythmic sound of
- 8:26waves rolling in and drifting back out again.
- 8:37And I want you to look at the sky and see that it's a perfect
- 8:40shade of blue, just a few white clouds drifting peacefully by.
- 8:47And allow yourself to walk slowly along that beach, feeling
- 8:58the warm sand beneath your feet. And maybe you'll wear the sea
- 9:05meets the sand, and you can feel the cool sea there on your feet,
- 9:13your ankles, as the waves gently break on the shore.
- 9:22And every now and then a wave comes in a bit stronger, a
- 9:28splash that's higher than the rest.
- 9:33But observe how it quickly settles.
- 9:38Just a passing moment and then everything is calm again.
- 9:48We need to see one of those white fluffy clouds turning
- 9:53dark. Just experience a tropical
- 10:00shower, one of those light rains that appears suddenly.
- 10:12It's there, intense, clears the humidity in the warm air, and
- 10:24then disappears just as quickly, leaving everything fresh when it
- 10:33fades away. I want you to get a sense that
- 10:39some things in life are like that.
- 10:42Unwelcome, maybe unexpected, but short and manageable and always
- 10:53passing. I want you to imagine there is a
- 10:59sun lounger there on that beach. The tropical showers pass, the
- 11:05blue skies are back. And just imagine lying back on
- 11:09that sun lounger, feeling completely at peace with the
- 11:17sound of the waves lapping gently nearby.
- 11:23Imagine looking up at the sky, noticing the clouds drifting
- 11:33lazily overhead. And just like thoughts or
- 11:40sensations, you can let them go. A cloud doesn't stay there
- 11:48forever, and neither does a thought.
- 11:53Observe them and allow them to pass, knowing that they never
- 12:02stay long. And every wave and every breeze
- 12:09and every breath helps you to drift deeper, deeper into calm,
- 12:19into safety, into a place where you remember just how far you've
- 12:26come. Because you have come far.
- 12:34You are healing and you are strong.
- 12:36And what if you are ready now to think differently?
- 12:43And those sensations that once may have caused concern could
- 12:48take on a new meaning, a new connotation.
- 12:52And you get to decide what that meaning and connotation is.
- 13:01Because from this relaxed and resourceful place, you can begin
- 13:07to re evaluate those temporary sensations.
- 13:13Sensations like Lightheadedness and a little dizziness.
- 13:20What if you thought of them as nothing more than a cheeky
- 13:23Rascal? A little Rascal that comes to
- 13:28visit now and then? I'm invited, but no longer
- 13:35threatening. And maybe you smile to yourself
- 13:40because you know this little Rascal has no real power
- 13:46anymore. It's not the storm it once was.
- 13:51It carries no intimidation or fear.
- 13:56It's just the echo of what has long since passed, an echo of
- 14:04something already resolved. And the beautiful thing about
- 14:10echoes is that they fade. They fade naturally.
- 14:18They get quieter over time, becoming less intense and less
- 14:24frequent. So now, whenever that cheeky
- 14:31Rascal shows up, just imagine pausing, giving you time to
- 14:39evaluate, allow yourself to breathe in a nice relaxed way.
- 14:51And maybe you could imagine talking to that little rask and
- 14:56then saying, I see you and you're a little echo.
- 15:03I know what you are because you do know what it is.
- 15:10You know that it's manageable. It's temporary and you know that
- 15:17it always passes. In fact, the more you greet it
- 15:23calmly, with confidence, humour or cheekiness, the faster it
- 15:31fades. And over time, as you react or
- 15:40respond with less fear and less focus, what if the Rascal gets
- 15:46bored, stops showing up as often, becomes less of a thing?
- 15:56And even when it does pop by, you don't let it take up too
- 16:01much space because you've already focused on something far
- 16:06more important, on healing, on living, on moving forward with
- 16:16strength and confidence. If there was something
- 16:23neurologically wrong, they would have found it.
- 16:26And they haven't. Which is how you know that this
- 16:31Rascal is indeed an echo, like a tickling sensation on a phantom
- 16:39limb. It's not real, and the more you
- 16:45think of it in that way, the truer it becomes.
- 16:52You were not broken, you are recovering, you are resilient
- 16:58and you are whole. This will pass, it always does.
- 17:08But I want you to teleport forwards in time, perhaps to an
- 17:12upcoming meeting, a presentation kind of place where lots of
- 17:18people will be there. And just imagine feeling that
- 17:23light headed feeling or dizziness.
- 17:28But imagine smiling to yourself, calling that sensation A cheeky
- 17:36Rascal. You've been asking it.
- 17:42You're going to be here for two or three minutes or less.
- 17:48You're not fazed by it. You're not worried by it.
- 17:53If you need to sit down, you can, but it's no big deal.
- 18:01And if it feels more manageable, more temporary, less of a big
- 18:08deal, just let me know. By nodding your head, that's it.
- 18:13And in doing so, you are helping the echo to fade away.
- 18:25I want you to imagine getting up off that lounger, and I want you
- 18:31to imagine taking a gentle swim in the sea and allowing all of
- 18:38the emotional baggage of this past few months to feel like
- 18:43it's washing off. You feel like you are on the
- 18:50brink of a fresh start feeling empowered, confident, ready to
- 18:57move forward. And as you return to the shore,
- 19:01feel lighter, more optimistic that things are going to get
- 19:07better and better. It's time to return to the
- 19:13presence. So take a deep breath in through
- 19:15your nose and out through your nose.
- 19:21Just wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes.
- 19:23Start to connect and calibrate with the here and the now as I
- 19:28now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 19:33Starting to count 123 waking up 456 more alert 7-8 open your
- 19:44eyes, open your eyes. That's it. 910 wide awake, wide
- 19:49awake, wide awake. Thank you for listening to The
