- 0:00Speaker 1: I have I think my favorite duo on the show.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Sorry everyone else.
- 0:05Speaker 2: I'm gonna have you said that before I have met.
- 0:08Speaker 1: This is episode too.
- 0:10Speaker 3: It's your favorite pair with the same name. That's correct.
- 0:15Speaker 4: So, without further ado, Sophia Franklin Hi and her lovely assistant,
- 0:21Speaker 4: Sophia bro Hi. Okay, so you got engaged.
- 0:30Speaker 1: How long ago?
- 0:31Speaker 2: I have been engaged for holy shit, ten days maybe?
- 0:38Speaker 2: And I feel like a week of that doesn't even
- 0:41Speaker 2: exist because I was in Europe and then I was
- 0:44Speaker 2: traveling back, and then I was like, you know, readjusting.
- 0:47Speaker 2: But yeah, it feels surreal still.
- 0:50Speaker 1: So this is your first week back in New York engaged?
- 0:53Speaker 2: Yes, yes, wow, and it's kind of crazy. It's wonderful.
- 0:59Speaker 2: By the way.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Oh my god, I feel like I caught it.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Okay, I'm so cryptic. I'm like, it's yeah, it's engaged.
- 1:10Speaker 2: I'm super super happy.
- 1:12Speaker 1: I'm so happy for you. Congratulations again, thank you.
- 1:16Speaker 4: We don't have to go into it too much, but
- 1:18Speaker 4: I'm as a single woman, I am just curious. How
- 1:21Speaker 4: did you know that he was the one?
- 1:23Speaker 2: That's a really good question. I think I knew he
- 1:26Speaker 2: was the one when I actually cared because this is
- 1:34Speaker 2: the first time I've ever been in love, which is
- 1:36Speaker 2: also insane because I'm, you know, in my thirties. But
- 1:42Speaker 2: I think it was when I knew I really cared,
- 1:44Speaker 2: and I think when I discovered how good of a
- 1:49Speaker 2: guy he is. Those were like the two things, Like
- 1:53Speaker 2: was there a moment where I thought to myself, oh
- 1:55Speaker 2: my god. There were several along the way for sure
- 1:59Speaker 2: where I was like, this is this is my guy.
- 2:01Speaker 3: I also think you're someone that, like you obviously are
- 2:05Speaker 3: planning for your future and you want that and want
- 2:08Speaker 3: a family and those things. But I also don't think
- 2:10Speaker 3: you necessary, like you have no idea what different engagement
- 2:13Speaker 3: rings look like, you have no idea like different things
- 2:16Speaker 3: of a wedding, even the idea of like I already
- 2:18Speaker 3: feel like you're a little bit social media verse and
- 2:20Speaker 3: the averse, and the idea of like, oh, bridal era,
- 2:22Speaker 3: we're gonna be doing that and we are going to
- 2:24Speaker 3: be doing that, right. You don't. You just don't.
- 2:27Speaker 2: I don't.
- 2:27Speaker 3: You're oriented.
- 2:28Speaker 2: That's not no, it's not my identity. And it's like
- 2:32Speaker 2: I'm actually realizing, like I kind of built you know,
- 2:36Speaker 2: a persona and a and a following based off of
- 2:40Speaker 2: being a man eater and treating them like shit. And
- 2:44Speaker 2: that's actually genuinely how I was in my real life
- 2:47Speaker 2: in my day to day was just like never gave
- 2:51Speaker 2: a shit, you know. And but I think to What's
- 2:55Speaker 2: Sofa saying, It's like I've never been that girl that
- 2:58Speaker 2: has the pincher's board, but now I'm obsessed, Like now
- 3:02Speaker 2: I'm starting to get like I get the whole Bride
- 3:05Speaker 2: era thing. But yeah, he's a great guy.
- 3:11Speaker 1: And Soph as her assistant. When did you know that
- 3:16Speaker 1: she had been bulldozed?
- 3:17Speaker 3: I think that this was super intentional, like this was
- 3:20Speaker 3: a part of just like a big life change of
- 3:23Speaker 3: just like adulting, living your best life, like totally living
- 3:27Speaker 3: your truest self. I think that it was honestly just
- 3:30Speaker 3: like happened so naturally in a period of incredible self growth.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I Soph was actually integral to my breakup the
- 3:41Speaker 2: the ex before I met my fiance, and I think
- 3:47Speaker 2: after that there was so much growth that happened.
- 3:51Speaker 3: You know.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Breakups are like a time to glow up and grow up.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Say it louder for the people in the.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Back, They like they are so transfer permative and just
- 4:00Speaker 2: so good for you. Like they're just good for you.
- 4:02Speaker 2: They suck, But I think it was. Yeah, it was
- 4:05Speaker 2: like a natural thing, and I was ready and my fiance,
- 4:09Speaker 2: I think, also is at a place where he was ready.
- 4:12Speaker 2: So I do think there's a timing piece, you know, definitely.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I'm so excited for you and I wish you guys
- 4:19Speaker 1: are the best, and I hope you're enjoying this time.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I am. I haven't enjoyed it quite yet because I
- 4:25Speaker 2: feel like I've been on the go. But I'm going
- 4:26Speaker 2: to We're gonna do fun stuff.
- 4:27Speaker 3: We're gonna do the wedding tryon.
- 4:29Speaker 2: So we're gonna do I'm gonna do it all. I'm
- 4:31Speaker 2: gonna poste to like.
- 4:32Speaker 3: More of your design tastes, like we love style and design,
- 4:36Speaker 3: and I think that hasn't been able to shine as much.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Okay, so let's back up.
- 4:42Speaker 4: I was actually trying to think about how we met
- 4:44Speaker 4: because it was so long ago. I found an email
- 4:48Speaker 4: from Chloe Sappern, who was referred to me by one
- 4:52Speaker 4: of my other clients, Megan Group, and that's how you
- 4:54Speaker 4: and I had initially clicked yeah yeah, in the search
- 4:57Speaker 4: to find your person who is now Yeah.
- 5:01Speaker 1: But when we were looking for your assistant.
- 5:03Speaker 4: Initially, I'm curious what were some of the things that
- 5:06Speaker 4: came to mind and what was really important to you
- 5:08Speaker 4: at the time in finding your right hand.
- 5:12Speaker 2: So this is a fun story. I was working with
- 5:17Speaker 2: Chloe and she was just kind of freelancing and was
- 5:22Speaker 2: helping me run my socials and like helping me grow
- 5:25Speaker 2: my socials and like, you know, there's a brand deal,
- 5:28Speaker 2: like she would be handling it. And one day Chloe
- 5:33Speaker 2: literally was like, so you need a personal assistant. You
- 5:39Speaker 2: need an assistant and needs to be a personal assistant.
- 5:42Speaker 2: I have other clients, I'm freelancing. You need someone on
- 5:47Speaker 2: the ground with you. You need someone who is full time
- 5:51Speaker 2: dedicated to you to like manage all this shit. I'm
- 5:56Speaker 2: making myself sound like I'm like cuckoo, but I'm not
- 6:00Speaker 2: the most well versed in social media. Doesn't come naturally
- 6:03Speaker 2: to me. Everyone knows that. So it was really Chloe
- 6:07Speaker 2: let me know I needed an assistant, and then yeah,
- 6:11Speaker 2: she put us in touch, and it it did become
- 6:14Speaker 2: like really clear. It was like, oh, no, I do
- 6:16Speaker 2: need that. Because my whole team was actually not in
- 6:19Speaker 2: New York, so that was very important.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Where was the team at the time. Were they all virtual?
- 6:25Speaker 2: They were all virtual, and we would you know, link
- 6:29Speaker 2: up in Los Angeles. Sometimes they would come to New York,
- 6:33Speaker 2: but it wasn't that that often. But they were based
- 6:37Speaker 2: La Vegas, Utah. But no one on the East coast.
- 6:42Speaker 1: So until SOF came around and she was on the ground,
- 6:46Speaker 1: she was in it.
- 6:48Speaker 2: She was in New York, she was around. Yeah, it's
- 6:52Speaker 2: really funny, Megan, because I don't even know what I
- 6:55Speaker 2: initially said I needed or wanted, but I remember you
- 7:00Speaker 2: sent over some options and then I interviewed, and I
- 7:05Speaker 2: remember I literally said I need you to pick. And
- 7:10Speaker 2: you and I were not even friends at this point,
- 7:12Speaker 2: like we had had one not saying that you weren't outstanding,
- 7:16Speaker 2: and I didn't close yet.
- 7:18Speaker 3: We didn't we didn't click yet in the interview.
- 7:19Speaker 2: I don't think we probably did. I mean you, interviews
- 7:22Speaker 2: are very awkward.
- 7:23Speaker 4: That's why I always encourage in person before someone moves forward.
- 7:26Speaker 1: You can't tell on zoom at all.
- 7:28Speaker 3: It wasn't bad in any way. It was in person.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think you know what I could tell
- 7:34Speaker 2: about you so right away is you were you were
- 7:39Speaker 2: gonna make sure shit got done and you're gonna be
- 7:42Speaker 2: on top of it, and you're gonna make sure it happen.
- 7:45Speaker 2: And I think that I was like, I know, this
- 7:48Speaker 2: is my girl, but it means that I gotta come.
- 7:52Speaker 2: I gotta get comfy with the fact that I also
- 7:54Speaker 2: will have to get shipped account.
- 7:57Speaker 3: You know. I remember you said in the interview, you
- 7:59Speaker 3: were like, because I really wanted I feel like it's
- 8:01Speaker 3: so rare to have people that are mostly in person now, yeah,
- 8:06Speaker 3: and it definitely I wanted something structured, and I was like,
- 8:09Speaker 3: I do think it would be amazing if we could
- 8:10Speaker 3: try to do three days to start with, and you
- 8:12Speaker 3: were like, I want to build a room for you
- 8:14Speaker 3: in my apartment, Like we will do a cubicle, we
- 8:16Speaker 3: will have hours, we will add in the shit out
- 8:18Speaker 3: of this, Like I want you here, and i'd actually
- 8:20Speaker 3: like you move in right with social media and also
- 8:23Speaker 3: just with entertainment too, and like you've worked with actresses
- 8:26Speaker 3: and it's like it's not it is hard to live
- 8:29Speaker 3: a structured life around work, and like, I think that
- 8:33Speaker 3: was something really important for us to be Like, let's
- 8:35Speaker 3: pretend we're clocking in yaking it, you know, because it'll
- 8:38Speaker 3: make you feel better about yourself.
- 8:40Speaker 4: You have to create, you have to be disciplined. It's
- 8:43Speaker 4: definitely a preference. I have a lot of candidates who
- 8:45Speaker 4: will always ask, can I work from home one day?
- 8:49Speaker 4: Do I have to be at the office every day?
- 8:50Speaker 4: Or do I have to be at their home every day?
- 8:52Speaker 4: So it's a preference. I mean, I think we all
- 8:54Speaker 4: know that things get done.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Ten x when you're in person.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:58Speaker 4: I do two to three days a week with my team,
- 9:00Speaker 4: and it's always amazing. Mondays I never do in person
- 9:04Speaker 4: because I mondays are rough for everyone, but I do
- 9:07Speaker 4: for day for days.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I should think, little little hot tip. Sometimes we do.
- 9:12Speaker 3: And I think this is obviously like once you've grown
- 9:15Speaker 3: into the role and have so much mutual trust, and
- 9:17Speaker 3: also like you are not a micromanager. We're both very
- 9:19Speaker 3: like we'll run our ships. I'll like ask where your
- 9:22Speaker 3: ship's at, redirect your ship, have your ship kind of
- 9:26Speaker 3: to the same sea as me, But you don't try.
- 9:29Speaker 2: To I do not micromanager's not.
- 9:32Speaker 3: A micromanager at all. We've started saying this thing where
- 9:35Speaker 3: like when we want to work in person for just
- 9:38Speaker 3: pure accountability of like having a warm body next to
- 9:40Speaker 3: each other, but we don't necessarily want to be accountable
- 9:43Speaker 3: for like being on all day. We'll be like, Okay,
- 9:45Speaker 3: we're gonna be in person, but we're just doing parallel play. Yeah,
- 9:47Speaker 3: we're just doing a parallel play. Yeah, and like we'll
- 9:49Speaker 3: check in, but you literally text me yesterday you we're like,
- 9:52Speaker 3: if you come over, I need us to only talk
- 9:53Speaker 3: every three hours.
- 9:54Speaker 2: I said that for Beta, and then I was like,
- 9:56Speaker 2: I'm gonna say because you know, it's hard. It's like
- 10:00Speaker 2: you're hanging out with someone and you have like, yeah,
- 10:03Speaker 2: so much shit you want to talk about, and you're like,
- 10:06Speaker 2: if we go down that road, it's a lot to
- 10:09Speaker 2: get you work done. Yeah, at all.
- 10:11Speaker 1: I usually want to work.
- 10:12Speaker 3: It's so hard. It's so hard.
- 10:13Speaker 2: That part is hard. And I don't really think any
- 10:16Speaker 2: other industry is like that when it comes to you know,
- 10:20Speaker 2: talent and their assistant, except I guess high high profile people,
- 10:26Speaker 2: but you know, like a fucking millionaire, billionaire businessman or politicians.
- 10:31Speaker 2: But I think in like corporate America. You know, I
- 10:34Speaker 2: worked at Morgan Stanley. Like, you're assistant, there's no.
- 10:38Speaker 1: You worked at Morgan Stanley.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Yeah, four years, and I was a glorified assistant. I
- 10:43Speaker 2: didn't do anything cool.
- 10:45Speaker 3: Well worked for a whole team of financial advisors.
- 10:48Speaker 2: And when I say it wasn't cool, and I say,
- 10:50Speaker 2: use the word assistant, this was it Morgan Stanley in
- 10:52Speaker 2: a cubicle. So it wasn't cool. And I wish I
- 10:56Speaker 2: would have known this whole world existed, because I would
- 10:59Speaker 2: have tried to be so would have been really scary.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Maybe not, Maybe you're.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Really do you love some really? Sorry we're going no,
- 11:08Speaker 3: I I know you were to add that is going
- 11:11Speaker 3: to live in my thought free for the next three days,
- 11:15Speaker 3: like you have known. She's known true like corporate existential
- 11:18Speaker 3: dreat like you've you've experienced the other side. I also
- 11:21Speaker 3: do think specifically with influencing a lot of people, it
- 11:23Speaker 3: is kind of like their for a into having a career.
- 11:27Speaker 3: You know, it's not sometimes people don't have like a
- 11:29Speaker 3: career before that. But you had a full you.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Know, I had a full nine to five like serious ship.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Wow. Oh yeah, I'm just going to quickly say that
- 11:38Speaker 3: if we did switch places, you are very good at
- 11:41Speaker 3: the at the strict PA stuff of like flights.
- 11:45Speaker 2: I love like I like, I swear to God it's adall.
- 11:49Speaker 2: I swear to God, it's when I take out all
- 11:51Speaker 2: and then I just love like I live in the minutia.
- 11:54Speaker 2: I'm like, oh my god, and this is going to
- 11:56Speaker 2: be like two minutes later. But then we could like
- 11:58Speaker 2: kind of like do a hack here. And I like
- 12:00Speaker 2: to do the admin and I love that.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Amazon orders like you you, oh.
- 12:07Speaker 2: My god, And I do research per day.
- 12:09Speaker 1: You crush it easier to do the Amazon set yourself.
- 12:12Speaker 3: I know she crushes it, but it's a deep dive.
- 12:16Speaker 3: One thing that he was gonna do is a deep dive.
- 12:18Speaker 3: She's gonna be like, but maybe I am keto tomorrow.
- 12:21Speaker 3: What grain do I want? And what is a grain?
- 12:24Speaker 2: By the way, I am a podcaster. That actually is
- 12:27Speaker 2: what I do for work. This is just a side gig,
- 12:29Speaker 2: which we're talking about Amazon in the flight shopping is
- 12:32Speaker 2: just a side hustle of mine.
- 12:34Speaker 4: I am just picturing you are not topic having a
- 12:40Speaker 4: time like a sale, Like you will turn over every product,
- 12:45Speaker 4: look up every review, like you are basically the online
- 12:49Speaker 4: version of like an intense not even coop on or
- 12:52Speaker 4: you just want your researcher you love.
- 12:55Speaker 3: I think one of our differences to just in terms
- 12:57Speaker 3: of like something that doesn't matter at all is if
- 13:00Speaker 3: you love a you will read every like instruction review
- 13:04Speaker 3: to storial, I am so hands out, Like if we
- 13:06Speaker 3: get furniture in, I'm like tearing it apart. She's YouTube video.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like, we don't mean to look at the instructions.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Let's just like.
- 13:15Speaker 3: You read the reviews.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Yes, you also write the reviews.
- 13:19Speaker 2: I don't do that. I couldn't bring myself to do it.
- 13:24Speaker 2: And I've like, there's been one or two times where
- 13:26Speaker 2: I felt very very slighted at the Mew MEU at
- 13:30Speaker 2: the Mew Mew in Midtown.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Not quite an Amazon order?
- 13:35Speaker 1: Man, do we want to go into this?
- 13:38Speaker 2: What happened? I'm like taking over your podcast? This is
- 13:41Speaker 2: how you know. I just got back from Europe and
- 13:44Speaker 2: have been talking the same man for thirty days.
- 13:48Speaker 1: I'm that guy.
- 13:51Speaker 3: Man, I'm just a random man. How about so, she
- 13:56Speaker 3: said you pick me pick what she said? We had
- 14:00Speaker 3: our interview, then she said you pick. I'm going back
- 14:02Speaker 3: to megast.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Oh yes, us on try.
- 14:06Speaker 1: I was very confused for a second. Okay, yeah, she
- 14:09Speaker 1: did tell me to pick, and I picked.
- 14:10Speaker 2: You and I were on the couch and I knew
- 14:13Speaker 2: that it was you and I also another member from
- 14:17Speaker 2: the team had interviewed you as well, and I remember
- 14:21Speaker 2: she told me after the call, she said, Sofa is
- 14:24Speaker 2: your girl, And I was like, yeah, but I mean,
- 14:28Speaker 2: is she is it going to be like I'm a
- 14:29Speaker 2: little bit like crazy and out there, my employee said,
- 14:35Speaker 2: She was like, that is exactly what you need.
- 14:38Speaker 1: That is exactly what you need.
- 14:39Speaker 2: You need someone who's gonna like keep you in check,
- 14:42Speaker 2: in line, you know, and you can go be someone
- 14:46Speaker 2: that can kind of manage the situation.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Remind me how long it's been since you.
- 14:51Speaker 3: Two have been working together, almost a proper year and
- 14:55Speaker 3: a half. Yeah, wow, yeah, yeah, it's it's flown by.
- 15:02Speaker 3: I think that you. I think you've told me this before,
- 15:04Speaker 3: but I think you were a little bit worried I
- 15:06Speaker 3: was going to be a little bit but up.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, a little too button.
- 15:11Speaker 3: Academic in our interview, like I don't know, because we
- 15:13Speaker 3: also had a different member of the team that was
- 15:15Speaker 3: like steering in a stain way, so I could tell that,
- 15:17Speaker 3: but I thought I was a little bit more Yeah, let's.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Let's go back to the first impressions of one another.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Yeah, you thought she was buttoned up. I thought she
- 15:25Speaker 2: was buttoned up what did.
- 15:26Speaker 1: You wear to the interview?
- 15:28Speaker 3: It was over the I don't know if you could
- 15:29Speaker 3: even see my I don't even think. I don't remember that.
- 15:33Speaker 2: I think it was just you were, you know. And
- 15:36Speaker 2: part of the reason I actually, uh had had personal
- 15:41Speaker 2: assistance before, obviously, and I was in a bit of
- 15:44Speaker 2: a little period where I didn't have anyone, but they
- 15:49Speaker 2: were I would kind of like birds of a feather
- 15:52Speaker 2: flock together and like attract girls who were similar to me,
- 15:58Speaker 2: party girls, let's get after it, let's get crazy. Yeah,
- 16:02Speaker 2: and those two things I think, you know, they probably
- 16:06Speaker 2: can work. And now I'm more of an adult and
- 16:10Speaker 2: I think now I could maybe have an assistant that
- 16:12Speaker 2: was a little more like party girl. But this is
- 16:16Speaker 2: this yin and yang is why it works and what
- 16:19Speaker 2: I needed.
- 16:20Speaker 4: It's also when you have an assistant, there were a
- 16:23Speaker 4: representation of you out in society, so you leave her
- 16:26Speaker 4: apartment and people.
- 16:27Speaker 1: Know that you work for Sophia.
- 16:29Speaker 4: So if you have a party girl as your assistant,
- 16:32Speaker 4: it's not great.
- 16:33Speaker 2: No, no, yeah, I remember there was a fashion week
- 16:38Speaker 2: event and I remember my she was freelancing, but she
- 16:43Speaker 2: was my assistant at the time. Showed up in like
- 16:48Speaker 2: basically what Kanye West Bianca like his wife, like what
- 16:52Speaker 2: he has her where? Okay, Like so no clothes, a
- 16:57Speaker 2: slightly better style, but it was a thong, and I
- 17:02Speaker 2: was just like, we're going to Lagen's or something like,
- 17:06Speaker 2: there's no reason it's not Alexander Wing And still there's
- 17:10Speaker 2: no reason, you know. And also am I taking pictures
- 17:14Speaker 2: of you?
- 17:15Speaker 1: Or like.
- 17:17Speaker 3: You guys did get really good pictures together? We did?
- 17:19Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, but I just remember being like, wait, this
- 17:23Speaker 2: is kind of crazy because it is a representation. You know.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Let's talk about that a little bit.
- 17:28Speaker 4: Because a lot of assistants always ask what do I
- 17:31Speaker 4: wear to work or if I'm going to an event,
- 17:33Speaker 4: what do I wear when I'm walking around with my boss?
- 17:36Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 17:37Speaker 1: How do you handle those situations? And what are you
- 17:39Speaker 1: putting on your body?
- 17:40Speaker 3: Sophia, It's actually really interesting. We talk about this kind
- 17:43Speaker 3: of a lot because we talk about everything under the sun. Yeah,
- 17:46Speaker 3: mostly like being women in the world, So I forget
- 17:49Speaker 3: about this a lot. I think that we kind of
- 17:52Speaker 3: balance each other out in a way, Like I think
- 17:54Speaker 3: I can be a little bit in style and genuine
- 17:57Speaker 3: preference a little bit more matronly, and maybe that's where
- 18:02Speaker 3: you got the button the girl in the Yeah, but
- 18:06Speaker 3: like because I love the prep, like I just love prep.
- 18:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:10Speaker 3: But then also I don't pick you as a prep.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Yeah, it has That's why I like it. Jen used
- 18:17Speaker 1: to call me preppy. I don't. I guess I'm wearing
- 18:19Speaker 1: a rough.
- 18:22Speaker 3: I see it as like like coastal.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Not like, man, it's not your vines.
- 18:26Speaker 3: It's not vineyard vines. I think just like I like
- 18:29Speaker 3: a big pin stripe.
- 18:31Speaker 1: She like sit down overdes I love the.
- 18:33Speaker 4: Stripe, a caller, a Lily Pultzer, vineyard vines.
- 18:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that in a way, though sometimes in
- 18:42Speaker 3: a totally appropriate way, Like sometimes I will feel a
- 18:46Speaker 3: little bit comfortable being slightly more revealing than Sophia in
- 18:50Speaker 3: a way because you also come from like Jewish, Catholic,
- 18:53Speaker 3: Mormon guilt yarrah, and like a lot of people telling you,
- 18:57Speaker 3: Like sometimes you will look at me and be like,
- 18:58Speaker 3: is this crazy wear to therapy, And I'm like, because
- 19:02Speaker 3: we can see that you have shoulders, is this crazy?
- 19:08Speaker 2: No more? By the way, in Utah, girls are wearing
- 19:12Speaker 2: T shirts with tank tops over them. Okay, so they
- 19:16Speaker 2: cover their shoulder lies because it's like part of the
- 19:19Speaker 2: kind of culture there like be Mormons. It's intenating. But yeah,
- 19:25Speaker 2: I definitely can do that. But I think, you know,
- 19:30Speaker 2: since your assistant is your representation in physical form when
- 19:36Speaker 2: you guys go anywhere, I'm pretty laid back in chill,
- 19:40Speaker 2: you know. I think though it's like and also we
- 19:45Speaker 2: like go somewhere nice, it's dress up, do the glam,
- 19:49Speaker 2: do the makeup. I think though, when it's honestly, if
- 19:54Speaker 2: anyone else was wearing what my assistant was wearing that
- 19:56Speaker 2: Data fashion Week, I would have been stressed out. I
- 20:00Speaker 2: would have been stressed out. Why you know, it was
- 20:04Speaker 2: like wild, But I don't. I think that's that's interesting, Like, so,
- 20:08Speaker 2: how do you know just as an assistant because everyone's
- 20:12Speaker 2: so different, Like Morgan Stanley, I knew I had to
- 20:15Speaker 2: dress business casual. How do you know?
- 20:18Speaker 3: Like what I think that I don't know. I guess
- 20:21Speaker 3: it's kind of your own senses and also just having
- 20:23Speaker 3: your own And do other assistants.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Ask you for advice on this, because I I would
- 20:28Speaker 2: want to know.
- 20:28Speaker 3: Not assistance, but my friends who have corporate jobs or like,
- 20:33Speaker 3: they ask two things, one like what do you get
- 20:35Speaker 3: to wear? And also do you get to sit on
- 20:37Speaker 3: the couch and I'm like I do and my posture
- 20:41Speaker 3: is horrible, horrible posture. I also chose to be I
- 20:46Speaker 3: do this thing where I like performatively subconsciously, like for
- 20:49Speaker 3: her to know and us to know that I'm like
- 20:52Speaker 3: working really hard. I'll do like an extra hunch even
- 20:54Speaker 3: when I don't have to, like a signal that we're
- 20:57Speaker 3: really grinding, which is ridiculous. I do think though, one
- 21:00Speaker 3: piece of advice I think for assistance, I wonder if
- 21:03Speaker 3: you felt like this ever, I think I've had to
- 21:05Speaker 3: get very comfortable with, like the way I leave my
- 21:08Speaker 3: apartment is how I'm gonna look for the day.
- 21:10Speaker 4: Like totally I do not I don't know what time
- 21:12Speaker 4: you're going home. No, you have to be in comfortable shoes. Yes,
- 21:17Speaker 4: you're gonna be running around.
- 21:18Speaker 3: And I really really try to, like when we're going
- 21:21Speaker 3: to an event sometimes, like I'll have to, like when
- 21:24Speaker 3: we went to the gallop, I have to change when
- 21:26Speaker 3: I'm with you. But I never want you kind of
- 21:30Speaker 3: have to like surrender any self consciousness. I don't ever
- 21:34Speaker 3: want to be like dressing my makeup. I never want
- 21:37Speaker 3: you to think like I'm wondering how I look like
- 21:39Speaker 3: Sometimes we'll have fun moments and I'll be like this with
- 21:40Speaker 3: this like joke about my skinny scarf. But I always
- 21:43Speaker 3: wanted to feel like the skin I wore like a
- 21:47Speaker 3: little chiffon, like little skinny. Yeah. Yeah, but I was
- 21:52Speaker 3: doing I was doing a bit, she was doing a bit.
- 21:54Speaker 3: I was doing a flip. I was doing a bit.
- 21:56Speaker 3: But I never wanted I wanted to feel like it's
- 21:58Speaker 3: all hands on deck with you.
- 22:00Speaker 2: I never want to be right, you know, and your.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Friend's stressing and you're all getting ready together, and then
- 22:03Speaker 3: it's like not fun. I just there's no you have
- 22:06Speaker 3: to surrender any of that. I try not to check
- 22:08Speaker 3: myself in the mirror.
- 22:09Speaker 4: That's why job, because there are assistants that I've seen
- 22:13Speaker 4: who will do the whole lamp thing and make the
- 22:15Speaker 4: night about them instead of their boss.
- 22:18Speaker 1: And that is where you get into trouble.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, that yeah, yeah. I have ran into that,
- 22:24Speaker 2: not often, not with SO, not with SO in the past,
- 22:29Speaker 2: and it's it is a little bit like if I'm
- 22:33Speaker 2: needing to go to an event, I know I'm gonna
- 22:34Speaker 2: be photographed, like I'm I get self conscious, I get
- 22:37Speaker 2: in secret, I get stressed, I get anxiety and so yeah,
- 22:41Speaker 2: you like depend on you know, your assistant one hundred.
- 22:47Speaker 2: But that is crazy, like I I soph makes everything
- 22:51Speaker 2: seem so seamless. The fact that you're like avoiding mirrors
- 22:56Speaker 2: and shit, but I don't feel like you're like not
- 23:00Speaker 2: paying attention to me is crazy. But I get it.
- 23:03Speaker 2: But like I get it.
- 23:04Speaker 3: Together, like I don't want, yeah, put that energy out.
- 23:06Speaker 3: I also think that obviously we strike a balance, but
- 23:09Speaker 3: like sometimes you're a little we know when to like
- 23:11Speaker 3: be together and not be together, and it's very unspoken.
- 23:13Speaker 3: But I also think it's not like, oh, then my
- 23:17Speaker 3: boss will go get ready and I'll go ready, Like no, no, no, everything.
- 23:21Speaker 1: You're not getting ready.
- 23:23Speaker 4: You're in the bathroom throwing a black dress on the stall,
- 23:27Speaker 4: and like I'll do a little to thirty seconds.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Yeah, little brush, you're out of there.
- 23:30Speaker 3: And it's not. It's also like going into public and
- 23:35Speaker 3: going to events is not even though it looks so seamless,
- 23:37Speaker 3: it's not like it's a mind it's a mind fuck.
- 23:40Speaker 3: Like for your boss, you know, it's a trick. We're
- 23:42Speaker 3: we're talking why are we even doing this? We'll talk
- 23:45Speaker 3: through like how do we want to pose I'll like
- 23:47Speaker 3: mimic your poses back and forth, or we'll just like
- 23:49Speaker 3: put it on a ship. Getting ready is setting a
- 23:51Speaker 3: vibe and like you just want to be so present
- 23:54Speaker 3: for that as an assistant, or like be in the
- 23:56Speaker 3: other room like sometimes intentionally like we need space.
- 23:58Speaker 1: But whatever it is, make a mo make.
- 24:04Speaker 2: That is my number one comfort. Because you're drinking, I.
- 24:09Speaker 1: Normally don't drink it, like with courage.
- 24:12Speaker 2: It's just having it there.
- 24:13Speaker 3: Yea, I understand.
- 24:15Speaker 2: I'll take like one step and be like, oh my god,
- 24:17Speaker 2: it's the alcohol. I okay.
- 24:25Speaker 4: So, aside from sof not looking in mirrors, what makes
- 24:29Speaker 4: her the best assistant?
- 24:32Speaker 2: Oh my god, there's a lot of stuff that being
- 24:38Speaker 2: so an incredible assistant. I think there's things that make
- 24:42Speaker 2: her really good, just like objectively and would be true
- 24:46Speaker 2: across the board. I think for the relationship with me personally,
- 24:53Speaker 2: the fact that she well, let me start with like
- 24:56Speaker 2: general broad so gives a ship and like, you know
- 25:02Speaker 2: when I worked at Morgan Stanley, do you think I
- 25:04Speaker 2: gave a flying fuck if I got back to my
- 25:07Speaker 2: financial Advisor's the billionaire client who's throwing a fit? I'm like,
- 25:11Speaker 2: it's five PM. I like you know, unplug my phone
- 25:14Speaker 2: and I'm in the Slam's laptop.
- 25:16Speaker 3: You should be.
- 25:18Speaker 2: It's like bye, bitch, but so like she actually cares
- 25:26Speaker 2: and that is everything, you know. And then I think, well,
- 25:32Speaker 2: she's very I mean, she's all these things right, She's
- 25:34Speaker 2: like very smart, she's well spoken. She gets the creative piece,
- 25:37Speaker 2: she also gets like the administrative piece, she gets the
- 25:41Speaker 2: mental health piece. Like since working with sop, I've kind
- 25:46Speaker 2: of gotten insight into the world of being I don't
- 25:50Speaker 2: I mean how to refer not yeah, like a talent person, celebrity,
- 25:55Speaker 2: a talent person's assistant.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Famous podcaster, I do, and you're fremely famous podcast and
- 26:02Speaker 3: hello here in the field.
- 26:05Speaker 2: You will not catch me re foring myself as famous.
- 26:08Speaker 1: We are in the presence of someone very very.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Important on this couch.
- 26:13Speaker 3: You see her on the mine.
- 26:15Speaker 1: I have Sophia Franklin in my apartment.
- 26:17Speaker 2: Yeah, entering, they said it, not me. But working as
- 26:20Speaker 2: a personal assistant in the entertainment world and for like
- 26:23Speaker 2: high profile people, high profile makes it better. She you
- 26:29Speaker 2: have to take care of not just be a creative
- 26:33Speaker 2: and the content and make sure like the logistics are there.
- 26:37Speaker 2: You have to be a mental health professional. You have
- 26:42Speaker 2: to be a therapist.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Emotional intelligence that but also.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Like know what my needs are before, anticipate, anticipate and
- 26:51Speaker 2: kind of just like know and make decisions right so
- 26:57Speaker 2: I don't need to make them. There's so much shit
- 27:00Speaker 2: that goes into it. It's like you guys should have CEO,
- 27:05Speaker 2: CFO COO and all the above in any role you
- 27:09Speaker 2: could be in a company on your guys' resume, because
- 27:12Speaker 2: that's what the system is. It's fucking crazy.
- 27:14Speaker 3: I genuinely think we have a lot of mutual admiration
- 27:17Speaker 3: for each other. Yeah, I think like I take so
- 27:20Speaker 3: much pride in being your system. I believe in you,
- 27:22Speaker 3: like I believe in your story, and I think that
- 27:24Speaker 3: that is so shared. Like I think we just had
- 27:27Speaker 3: so many crazy Yes I wasn't like a party girl,
- 27:29Speaker 3: but you're not either now now.
- 27:32Speaker 2: Now, it took a minute, I get that out of
- 27:36Speaker 2: my system.
- 27:37Speaker 3: We've had very different, like external lives, I feel like,
- 27:40Speaker 3: but we are so similar in a lot of weight.
- 27:43Speaker 3: We're very like kindred in a way, you know, and
- 27:45Speaker 3: like weirdly, when I started working for you, like immediately
- 27:48Speaker 3: had like very similar experiences you would have had like
- 27:50Speaker 3: literally a year before like totally a lot of stuff overlaps. Also,
- 27:54Speaker 3: I think our biggest thing is we really clicked with humor. Yeah,
- 27:58Speaker 3: that's how we connected.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Yes, which is major. You're spending that much time one
- 28:03Speaker 2: on one time intimate, it's it's intimate as ship, so intimate.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Who is funnier?
- 28:13Speaker 2: That was the exact same I'm going to say.
- 28:17Speaker 3: So, I'm gonna say me, just get yourself, but like,
- 28:22Speaker 3: you're fun you can do things I can't do, but
- 28:26Speaker 3: I can crack you up.
- 28:28Speaker 2: She can crack We're both very funny, similar humor, but
- 28:32Speaker 2: then we kind of have our own vibes.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Start laughing all day long, all day cackling.
- 28:37Speaker 3: Also, we start screaming at each other this close to
- 28:40Speaker 3: each other all day. We also have the same I
- 28:43Speaker 3: would say comedy inspo, which is the real housewise of
- 28:46Speaker 3: New York. I mean like those are women, those are
- 28:49Speaker 3: and girls.
- 28:51Speaker 2: And girls enviep, ENVIEP. Yeah, So, but's also humor. I
- 28:59Speaker 2: guess that's why it's like, how the fuck do you
- 29:01Speaker 2: see if you vibe there during a zoom.
- 29:03Speaker 3: In right right?
- 29:04Speaker 1: Yeah, it's impossible. No one's gonna crack a joke in
- 29:07Speaker 1: the middle of their assist an interview.
- 29:08Speaker 2: It would have to be like a dad joke, which
- 29:11Speaker 2: that would be fucking crazy to do. That would be insane.
- 29:14Speaker 3: When I first met you, you like, there's so much like
- 29:16Speaker 3: physical comedy too. I want to one day make a
- 29:18Speaker 3: TikTok of us, like impersonating each other because the way
- 29:21Speaker 3: you walk around. When I first walked into Sofia's apartment
- 29:23Speaker 3: the first day, she left the door unlocked for me.
- 29:25Speaker 3: I come in. She comes creeping on her tiptoes outside room,
- 29:28Speaker 3: and she's.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Like, I'm sorry.
- 29:30Speaker 3: I feel like I just hit all my stuff in
- 29:32Speaker 3: my room because my mom's checking if I cleaned up.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Here's my here's my special little honey I got in.
- 29:37Speaker 3: The Lower East Side. I definitely could have gotten it
- 29:39Speaker 3: for four dollars, but it was thirty two dollars. Such
- 29:41Speaker 3: a rip off. But also try it and I was
- 29:43Speaker 3: like this, this is awesome. It's not like incense. I
- 29:47Speaker 3: was like, this person has an identity, though, like such a.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Full You're such a full. I have a person's study. Yeah,
- 29:53Speaker 2: I definitely have an identity and a personality. You also
- 29:57Speaker 2: remember you said I was holding like a big first
- 30:00Speaker 2: pen and juicy note, and I had a list and
- 30:02Speaker 2: I want to tell her what the list was. I
- 30:08Speaker 2: want to I literally want to jump out of my.
- 30:11Speaker 5: Spirit because I could tell you were like, okay, you
- 30:16Speaker 5: really planned. But she had a little juicy furry juicy
- 30:19Speaker 5: coutur notebook furry pen and it was sitting on the
- 30:22Speaker 5: coffee table and it said so task list or something
- 30:25Speaker 5: and it said like the first thing was like.
- 30:29Speaker 3: I don't know the oh.
- 30:30Speaker 2: The first thing was take take come up with it.
- 30:33Speaker 3: No, take product pictures because you had like a heap
- 30:35Speaker 3: of like.
- 30:36Speaker 2: Oh my god, you had a heap of gifting.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Imagine how much gifting, so much stuff.
- 30:43Speaker 3: And then the next one was just fine, TikTok, I
- 30:47Speaker 3: think I'm gonna get the job.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Product TikTok.
- 30:50Speaker 3: I think I.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Can handle this.
- 30:51Speaker 3: And then I also asked you the most basic, like
- 30:53Speaker 3: before we left for a recording, I was like, have
- 30:56Speaker 3: you eaten? Are you gonna need food? And you were
- 30:57Speaker 3: like this is when you know you gotta keep a
- 31:01Speaker 3: girl around and I was like, I mean yeah, like
- 31:03Speaker 3: we're gonna be gone for four hours.
- 31:05Speaker 4: That is one of the most crucial parts of being
- 31:08Speaker 4: someone's assistant.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Hey, have you eaten today? If you are if you
- 31:12Speaker 1: have fifteen minutes in between meetings. Do need something to eat?
- 31:15Speaker 1: You need a coffee? Do you need a salad?
- 31:16Speaker 3: Having that ready?
- 31:17Speaker 4: Being inntspiratory, my god, crucial and had one sip of water.
- 31:22Speaker 3: That's very important. I don't be honest, We're so bad.
- 31:25Speaker 2: It's so bad the water I have, Like I thought
- 31:28Speaker 2: I had rabies. I have like an aversion to water.
- 31:31Speaker 2: Do you know that that's a symptom of having rabies?
- 31:34Speaker 2: Water scares you.
- 31:35Speaker 4: My arm started to twitch one day right here because
- 31:39Speaker 4: I was dehydrated. I was at lunch with my friend Christina,
- 31:41Speaker 4: and she goes, you're you're chitchen because I was dehydrated
- 31:46Speaker 4: and muscles.
- 31:47Speaker 3: Yeah, you're probably gonna get a cramp.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Oh my god, you know what. My eye will do
- 31:51Speaker 2: that sometimes when I'm dehydrated, really or when I haven't slept.
- 31:54Speaker 4: Have you guys seen that water bottle on Amazon that
- 31:56Speaker 4: says it has all the lines of motivational I try
- 32:00Speaker 4: to get you to drink what I have one it
- 32:02Speaker 4: doesn't work.
- 32:03Speaker 3: So if you also you're a tracker, so you also
- 32:05Speaker 3: need to be having it from the water, like the
- 32:08Speaker 3: water you do drink. You want to know how much
- 32:10Speaker 3: it was, so I can't just give you a random glass.
- 32:11Speaker 2: No, no, no, no. I do have like little kind
- 32:15Speaker 2: of ocd ish tendencies and certain things, not like that crazy.
- 32:19Speaker 2: I think we all do to a certain degree. But
- 32:22Speaker 2: the water is a hard one. Yeah, for sure.
- 32:24Speaker 1: Remind you to drink more water? Yes, also remind me please?
- 32:27Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, you know, I'll text you, want to text
- 32:30Speaker 3: you whenever we're like, okay, it's three have we had
- 32:32Speaker 3: one bit water group chat?
- 32:34Speaker 2: Yeah, let's do that.
- 32:35Speaker 3: Yeah, that will get us to drink water.
- 32:37Speaker 2: I haven't checked the last five group chots, and.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Like, let's make merch's kind of make an event out
- 32:42Speaker 3: of it, and like maybe we'll we'll drink water.
- 32:44Speaker 4: So are you guys big on how do you communicate?
- 32:47Speaker 4: Are you big on group texts? Are you big on text?
- 32:49Speaker 4: Are you callers?
- 32:50Speaker 1: Are you emailers? What is the vibe?
- 32:52Speaker 2: I think that that has evolved. I mean, our relationship
- 32:58Speaker 2: now compared to what it was in the beginning is
- 33:01Speaker 2: two completely different things in the best way. But I
- 33:07Speaker 2: think we text a lot. I need to get used
- 33:11Speaker 2: to like doing a fucking voice now and then and
- 33:14Speaker 2: then we're in person.
- 33:15Speaker 3: I've told Megan, I was like, we have to talk
- 33:18Speaker 3: about the way we text each other, because we will text.
- 33:22Speaker 3: If you were to read our text, you would think that,
- 33:23Speaker 3: like we are talking to each other off the verge.
- 33:26Speaker 3: It is like a disclaimer to a disclaimer to a
- 33:30Speaker 3: disclaimer and then with like the most stoner stoner emojis
- 33:35Speaker 3: ever to like create peace, and then an invisible text
- 33:38Speaker 3: that's like nothing crazy in any way, Like we The
- 33:43Speaker 3: way we're taking care of each other overtext is not okay.
- 33:47Speaker 2: You would think we're both like in a street rack
- 33:49Speaker 2: and like the rocking around, respective rocking around. Yeah, it's
- 33:53Speaker 2: we do techarry we do.
- 33:55Speaker 4: You should get on the voice note trade and it's
- 33:57Speaker 4: kind of amazing, is it well?
- 33:59Speaker 2: And now it transribes.
- 34:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like, which is very helpful.
- 34:03Speaker 3: I so helpful.
- 34:04Speaker 4: Be I bet I will meet someone and then immediately
- 34:08Speaker 4: just go into voice notes.
- 34:10Speaker 1: And some people aren't prepared for it or.
- 34:13Speaker 3: Down for it.
- 34:13Speaker 1: But I'm I'm that's just who I am. You send away,
- 34:18Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 34:18Speaker 4: I send it to my team group chat a lot.
- 34:21Speaker 4: I send it to I don't text, you don't not really,
- 34:25Speaker 4: I mean, you do the voice if it's a quick okay,
- 34:30Speaker 4: I don't know. I prefer a voice note Okay, well.
- 34:32Speaker 2: I you know what, will never listen back to an
- 34:36Speaker 2: episode I recorded Sophie the Enough when I do voice notes, listen,
- 34:42Speaker 2: I love to listen to.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Of course it's so bad.
- 34:46Speaker 2: It's still so cringe. I don't know, but it's so cringe.
- 34:49Speaker 2: But for some reason in that setting, I like it.
- 34:53Speaker 2: Me because I'm being authentic, because I'm like, oh, this
- 34:55Speaker 2: is going to my best friend.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Ally, I like it for story time.
- 34:59Speaker 4: If you're tell one of your girlfriends something funny, or
- 35:02Speaker 4: if you're trying to say something to someone and you
- 35:04Speaker 4: really would like them to understand your tone.
- 35:05Speaker 1: I think a voice is crucial.
- 35:08Speaker 2: Wait, that's really it's not the tone because sometimes if
- 35:11Speaker 2: if I think to myself, Okay, I'm I need to
- 35:13Speaker 2: tell this person x y Z, but that might come
- 35:16Speaker 2: off bitchy or rude.
- 35:17Speaker 4: I'm just gonna send a voice note so they understand
- 35:19Speaker 4: that I'm calm and I'm not angry.
- 35:21Speaker 1: It's just wow, try to deliver some info.
- 35:23Speaker 2: I help you really like that, I will just send
- 35:27Speaker 2: it and say I'll just if there was anything, I'll
- 35:29Speaker 2: just bring it up tomorrow. And that's not the way
- 35:31Speaker 2: to do it, you know. I.
- 35:33Speaker 4: Let's let's voice no, we're going to voice no it
- 35:35Speaker 4: we're going to each other to drink while Yes.
- 35:37Speaker 3: Do you think though this is a gen because I
- 35:39Speaker 3: think this. I think it's in my mind it's a
- 35:43Speaker 3: little bit inappropriate for me to voice no, because I
- 35:47Speaker 3: think that's putting more work on her. Like I'm like
- 35:49Speaker 3: you voice oute me and figure it out through the
- 35:51Speaker 3: voice note. But for me, I want to like give
- 35:53Speaker 3: you the most clear easy headlines headlines. For some reason,
- 35:58Speaker 3: if I was telling you a story and like something
- 36:00Speaker 3: crazy happened, I would totally I feel like.
- 36:02Speaker 4: You think as an assistant, I would. I was a
- 36:05Speaker 4: big texter with headlines and bullet points to the point
- 36:08Speaker 4: deliver information. But if I was telling a story right
- 36:13Speaker 4: and or like describing or describing something or saying something
- 36:17Speaker 4: that I didn't want to put in writing, then I
- 36:20Speaker 4: would voice note.
- 36:20Speaker 3: Okay, okay, yes, I would you feel about getting a
- 36:24Speaker 3: voice no.
- 36:25Speaker 2: I think I've gotten like very very few part between.
- 36:28Speaker 2: But like I remember, I think one time you had
- 36:30Speaker 2: a last minute in the clutch, like get me like
- 36:34Speaker 2: a bag or like a dress for some of them,
- 36:37Speaker 2: and then you were like describing the thing to me,
- 36:39Speaker 2: and I like needed right this was a one time thing,
- 36:42Speaker 2: so it's like, oh my god, I sent voice. It
- 36:45Speaker 2: was one time and it was it was needed, and
- 36:48Speaker 2: you can.
- 36:48Speaker 3: The other time because it was a Sunday and I
- 36:50Speaker 3: was going to a movie and it was raining, and
- 36:51Speaker 3: I was like, it's Sunday, it's raining. Someone allowed to
- 36:53Speaker 3: send your voice.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Note You're probably like, what do you mean Sunday night
- 36:57Speaker 1: and it's raining.
- 36:58Speaker 2: I don't know what that mean.
- 36:59Speaker 1: Girls quote she goes, it's already raining.
- 37:06Speaker 2: I would not be offended if you sat me.
- 37:08Speaker 3: Quite interesting. I'll think about it.
- 37:09Speaker 4: It just takes a couple of and then you're gonna
- 37:11Speaker 4: get used to it and then you can't stop.
- 37:13Speaker 1: Yeah, it's really fun.
- 37:16Speaker 2: I'm very excited for that.
- 37:17Speaker 4: Yeah, wo have been some some challenges. I know, you
- 37:19Speaker 4: guys are super close and obviously have an amazing relationship,
- 37:23Speaker 4: which is so lovely to see it because I did this,
- 37:26Speaker 4: you did that fully. But what is maybe challenging work
- 37:31Speaker 4: being so intimately intimately close with your assistant.
- 37:36Speaker 2: Do you want to take it away? You want? You?
- 37:38Speaker 2: I will, I'm your assistant, right. It is like, uh,
- 37:46Speaker 2: any other important relationship that you have in your life.
- 37:52Speaker 2: It's it is a work. One but it is you know,
- 37:56Speaker 2: a personal one too, and the nature of the job
- 37:59Speaker 2: is okay, well, life is content. Content is life, right,
- 38:03Speaker 2: And like, I think one of the more difficult things
- 38:07Speaker 2: is knowing what are the boundaries, because you can't it's like, yes,
- 38:13Speaker 2: we can say, you know, the entertainment world is fucking crazy.
- 38:16Speaker 2: Boundaries don't exist. Well, it's like, well they do, like
- 38:19Speaker 2: you do have to be somewhat respectful, you know, and
- 38:23Speaker 2: have parameters or else it's like, Hi, you're actually moving
- 38:27Speaker 2: in with me tomorrow and we're sleeping in the same
- 38:29Speaker 2: bed and you know, like it can get and traveling
- 38:32Speaker 2: together yes, and my trip and being with each other
- 38:35Speaker 2: twenty four to seven, and that means for so if
- 38:40Speaker 2: like she feels like she needs to be on the
- 38:43Speaker 2: entire time, you know, it's not how I probably feel,
- 38:46Speaker 2: where it's more like we're just shooting the shit, like
- 38:49Speaker 2: what's up.
- 38:50Speaker 3: Which we are. I think I think a good way
- 38:52Speaker 3: to put parameters on it that we did maybe like
- 38:56Speaker 3: six months in is just like trying to have some
- 38:59Speaker 3: sort of hour that's nice, which was good because because
- 39:03Speaker 3: it's like then that's easier. It's like okay, within that, Yeah,
- 39:06Speaker 3: these are crazy. You know whatever, but let's like, I
- 39:08Speaker 3: think we started to be like, Okay, do we need
- 39:10Speaker 3: to be texting because we would be like I'd be
- 39:12Speaker 3: we're sending each other dresses, like we don't need to
- 39:15Speaker 3: be doing that, you know.
- 39:16Speaker 2: I was it the type of thing where like just
- 39:19Speaker 2: every day in the morning, it was let's decide if
- 39:21Speaker 2: we're being in person today or not, because that already
- 39:25Speaker 2: is like stressing me out right now.
- 39:26Speaker 3: Yeah, we were different, like you were just different. Are
- 39:29Speaker 3: in a different place yes, mentally, but physically were in
- 39:32Speaker 3: a different place. We were doing the like later start,
- 39:35Speaker 3: later end sort of thing, and then we started doing
- 39:37Speaker 3: earlier start but then didn't stop the later end. And
- 39:39Speaker 3: then we're like, wait, so did.
- 39:41Speaker 2: We start working like in person like really a lot
- 39:46Speaker 2: of the days and then started doing more remote a
- 39:49Speaker 2: lot of the days.
- 39:50Speaker 3: No, I kind of feel like we did less. We
- 39:52Speaker 3: did less of a person, and then like we weren't
- 39:56Speaker 3: finding as hard at the beginning.
- 39:59Speaker 2: Are you we were?
- 40:00Speaker 3: We were I'm meditating for an hour at the beginning,
- 40:04Speaker 3: I was a different bitch, like quite literally, I was
- 40:09Speaker 3: just in a.
- 40:09Speaker 2: Completely different place. But we had a you know, we
- 40:11Speaker 2: had to like build foundation and structure and trust trust
- 40:16Speaker 2: before we can, you know, start doing the big mos.
- 40:20Speaker 4: I think because these assistant jobs are so opposite of
- 40:24Speaker 4: a corporate environment, setting these little practices on the daily
- 40:29Speaker 4: to create some sort of boundary or some corporate ish
- 40:34Speaker 4: structure is always really helpful, but the lines get blurred.
- 40:38Speaker 1: And I think at the end of.
- 40:39Speaker 4: The day, uh, maybe voicing just being really communicative with
- 40:45Speaker 4: each other and and having that that open dynamic to say, hey,
- 40:51Speaker 4: this isn't really working for me, or this is working
- 40:53Speaker 4: for me and seems like you guys have figured that out.
- 40:56Speaker 2: I think we could be better at the communicating.
- 41:00Speaker 3: Like we're just so we're so like it's such a
- 41:03Speaker 3: show together in a way. We're so like we will
- 41:06Speaker 3: get so excited about ideas and just run with stuff,
- 41:09Speaker 3: and like it is such a small team that I
- 41:10Speaker 3: feel like we're so like you fork in the moment
- 41:13Speaker 3: in doing things. But it's like sometimes we need to
- 41:16Speaker 3: visualize just pausing and being like, how do we feel
- 41:19Speaker 3: in our ways right now? Like let's just pause, because
- 41:21Speaker 3: that's like the foundation of everything. So then sometimes we
- 41:23Speaker 3: can get to the moment where we're like we've already
- 41:25Speaker 3: gone past it, and then we have to like work backwards.
- 41:27Speaker 2: We need to prioritize check ins.
- 41:29Speaker 1: Yeah, how are we questions?
- 41:32Speaker 4: So Jena and I used to do check ins once
- 41:34Speaker 4: a quarter and I would sit down with her and say, Okay,
- 41:36Speaker 4: tell me everything I'm doing wrong, and she would and
- 41:39Speaker 4: it was awesome and I would take that feedback and
- 41:42Speaker 4: then I would go on, you know, go on with
- 41:44Speaker 4: my day. But I was really receptive to feedback, which
- 41:46Speaker 4: I think is something that kept me in that job
- 41:49Speaker 4: for a long time.
- 41:51Speaker 1: And I think any assistant needs.
- 41:53Speaker 4: To be really receptive to feedback. Bosses also need to
- 41:56Speaker 4: be receptive to feedback. Lucky, I was very lucky. She
- 41:59Speaker 4: was the best boss ever. But there I you know,
- 42:02Speaker 4: I definitely didn't get everything all the time. So I
- 42:05Speaker 4: think growth as an assistant really comes from being like, hey,
- 42:10Speaker 4: just checking in, it's been six months, how am I doing?
- 42:12Speaker 1: Are you happy?
- 42:14Speaker 4: And you know, vice versa. I think it's really healthy
- 42:17Speaker 4: to have those conversations.
- 42:19Speaker 2: Totally.
- 42:19Speaker 1: I think we want to we want to do that definitely.
- 42:22Speaker 3: And I also will say, like I this is you know,
- 42:25Speaker 3: like I'm three years out of school. This is maybe
- 42:29Speaker 3: I'm three years out of school, three years out of school,
- 42:32Speaker 3: like I'm the old thing as I wish I hired
- 42:34Speaker 3: an old assistant. It's like, but I'm learning a lot,
- 42:39Speaker 3: like I think for assistance too. It's just I think
- 42:41Speaker 3: this is a general this is just like a life thing.
- 42:43Speaker 3: But like it's very easy to be like, Okay, I
- 42:45Speaker 3: will like meet the things that meet me, you know,
- 42:48Speaker 3: and like I will deal with the things that are
- 42:50Speaker 3: given me, and that's like how I'll proceed in my life.
- 42:52Speaker 3: But also like you need to advocate for yourself and
- 42:56Speaker 3: you need to like there's a way to like really
- 42:58Speaker 3: make your life and job what you want it to be.
- 43:01Speaker 3: And it's not always just like go in with the flow.
- 43:03Speaker 3: And I think you learn that, yeah, through working, and
- 43:06Speaker 3: like I think there's so many ways that like you
- 43:08Speaker 3: can have such a more enriching experience if you take
- 43:11Speaker 3: the more charge you.
- 43:12Speaker 4: Take totally, Totally, You're here for a long time, not
- 43:16Speaker 4: a good time. So you want to make sure that
- 43:18Speaker 4: you're both investing in each other and making sure that
- 43:21Speaker 4: both of you are happy in this relationship.
- 43:23Speaker 1: But is like dating, Yeah, it is like dating.
- 43:26Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, I was I was thinking about coming when
- 43:29Speaker 2: I was like on the way here, and I was like, okay,
- 43:32Speaker 2: I've been thinking a lot about my fiance. Why is this? Okay,
- 43:36Speaker 2: what I'm about to talk about right now is like
- 43:37Speaker 2: in a similar vein. It's like another like you know,
- 43:41Speaker 2: very interwoven relationships. It is like a relationship.
- 43:46Speaker 3: And you you protect me in a lot of ways too.
- 43:49Speaker 3: I actually wonder for you because you and Gen were
- 43:51Speaker 3: really close.
- 43:51Speaker 1: In age, right, and two years apart, two years and
- 43:54Speaker 1: two days.
- 43:54Speaker 3: Okay, two years and two days, so like you don't
- 43:56Speaker 3: need to say we have no but we have an
- 44:01Speaker 3: age gap. And I'm just wondering from your perspective, like
- 44:03Speaker 3: how you think about that in the pairings and if
- 44:06Speaker 3: that does affect bonding, like we work so well. But
- 44:09Speaker 3: I also think that that is a dynamic, like you're
- 44:11Speaker 3: a protective I.
- 44:13Speaker 1: Think there can't be too giant of an age gap.
- 44:16Speaker 4: I think because we were only two years two days,
- 44:19Speaker 4: we were very wildly similar. We also grew up with
- 44:21Speaker 4: all brothers, so that bonded us really early. But I
- 44:25Speaker 4: think you have to be sort of in the same moment.
- 44:30Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 44:30Speaker 4: When I think about when I was twenty five I'm
- 44:33Speaker 4: now thirty three, I was real different, and I.
- 44:35Speaker 1: Don't I think now I'm finally a little bit more
- 44:38Speaker 1: of myself.
- 44:39Speaker 2: Yeah, and I agree, I'm thirty three too.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know.
- 44:43Speaker 4: I think it can't be that giant because you're just
- 44:46Speaker 4: in totally different places in your life.
- 44:48Speaker 2: Yeah, that's interesting. Yeah, so when you know, these guys
- 44:53Speaker 2: are like seventy with this sexy secretary who's like twenty one,
- 44:57Speaker 2: and it's like, bitch, what are you doing? But I.
- 45:02Speaker 3: Totally no idea where you're going.
- 45:05Speaker 2: I totally agree with you, Megan. I think it's hard
- 45:09Speaker 2: sometimes in the dynamic to know who needs to be
- 45:14Speaker 2: the one who sucks the quarterly meeting, who means to
- 45:18Speaker 2: be like the boss and you know, kind of like
- 45:23Speaker 2: laying down the structure and holding people accountable, and because
- 45:27Speaker 2: it's like it's kind of this this seesaw that you do.
- 45:31Speaker 4: That's something I recommend to all candidates I place and
- 45:35Speaker 4: all of my clients.
- 45:36Speaker 1: I give them advice, I mentor you've you've called me
- 45:39Speaker 1: a bunch.
- 45:39Speaker 4: That is sort of what I am therefore to offer
- 45:42Speaker 4: those because I've learned from my own mistakes and just
- 45:45Speaker 4: from being an assistant, how necessary those.
- 45:48Speaker 1: Meetings are, right? Yeah, but yeah, how is how's working
- 45:51Speaker 1: with me?
- 45:52Speaker 3: Been?
- 45:52Speaker 4: And and what are some of the time I know
- 45:54Speaker 4: we've been in touch a lot, and what are some
- 45:56Speaker 4: of the things if you don't mind sharing that you've
- 45:58Speaker 4: leaned on me for.
- 46:00Speaker 3: So many things, my knowledge, so many things, so many things.
- 46:04Speaker 3: Well also because we kind of it was like I
- 46:07Speaker 3: had worked with taught me, not I didn't find it
- 46:12Speaker 3: through you. So then it's like I was already working
- 46:13Speaker 3: for one of your clients and then was just like
- 46:15Speaker 3: shepherd to you. And that was like, yeah, the biggest
- 46:19Speaker 3: game changer and like life changer truly, and that was
- 46:22Speaker 3: like the beginning of me in New York and having yeah,
- 46:25Speaker 3: just like my life start here. And I think it's
- 46:30Speaker 3: really amazing because I think that with such an intense
- 46:34Speaker 3: one on one job and something so untraditional, like you
- 46:38Speaker 3: don't always have an HR, you don't always have this
- 46:41Speaker 3: like bigger structure. You don't have this like what is
- 46:44Speaker 3: the industry standard for planning a what for planning an
- 46:50Speaker 3: engagement party?
- 46:51Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 46:51Speaker 3: What is the for gifting? What is this thing? But
- 46:54Speaker 3: also like for extreme emotional care and like finesse and
- 47:01Speaker 3: being delicate and also like learning when to step up.
- 47:04Speaker 3: And you're just so helpful in all those intricacies and
- 47:09Speaker 3: also just make me feel like it's okay and it's normal.
- 47:13Speaker 3: Like I think a lot of the times when we talk,
- 47:15Speaker 3: I kind of end up talking myself, like just having
- 47:18Speaker 3: you there makes me feel like it's okay. So are
- 47:23Speaker 3: like it's just you don't know what.
- 47:27Speaker 4: I ask for advice and I say, this is totally normal,
- 47:30Speaker 4: You're fine, and.
- 47:32Speaker 1: This is how I would handle X y Z.
- 47:34Speaker 4: And I think half the time after when we hang up,
- 47:37Speaker 4: I say, just since set that meeting, have that conversation, yeah,
- 47:41Speaker 4: And You're always like okay, yeah, yeah, okay.
- 47:44Speaker 2: Which is really right, which is really interesting because I'm
- 47:48Speaker 2: asking soap with the industry's standard is like what the fuck?
- 47:53Speaker 3: Well, I think sometimes you're like if you've had like
- 47:56Speaker 3: a bad like I remember last summer calling my game
- 48:00Speaker 3: one day and I was just like, oh, this stuff is.
- 48:02Speaker 2: It was in the pros. Yeah, oh my god. And
- 48:05Speaker 2: I was like smoking a cigarette with like these flip
- 48:08Speaker 2: flops on my roof. I remember just like, not tell
- 48:11Speaker 2: me that in circles and I was just like, you
- 48:14Speaker 2: know what, you know what, let's just do this. Let's
- 48:17Speaker 2: just you know, let's just post this.
- 48:19Speaker 3: And it wasn't about my sois or anything.
- 48:21Speaker 2: I was just like, I want her to feel taken
- 48:23Speaker 2: care of it.
- 48:24Speaker 1: And I also you said, Sophia is having a really
- 48:25Speaker 1: tough day. What can I do to be the best
- 48:29Speaker 1: support system for her?
- 48:30Speaker 3: What would you recommend?
- 48:31Speaker 1: How do I help.
- 48:32Speaker 3: Her in this moment?
- 48:33Speaker 4: And I think I said, just listen and get them
- 48:37Speaker 4: sous over there.
- 48:38Speaker 3: Like I think that it's good because you also remind
- 48:41Speaker 3: me like you do know the like the assistant knows
- 48:44Speaker 3: the relationship best, Like I actually do know what would
- 48:46Speaker 3: make you feel good, and it's it's not like it's
- 48:49Speaker 3: it's also not bad. I think of advice to assistance too.
- 48:52Speaker 3: It's not a reflection on you when like your boss
- 48:55Speaker 3: is having a bad day, because I do want to
- 48:56Speaker 3: preempt those things.
- 48:58Speaker 1: Not personal. It's not to be able to separate that.
- 49:01Speaker 4: The emotional aspect of the job is really tough if
- 49:04Speaker 4: you take it personally.
- 49:06Speaker 1: Take it personally.
- 49:06Speaker 4: Everyone we don't wake up No one wakes up happy
- 49:10Speaker 4: every single day. Imagine and then imagine having to have
- 49:13Speaker 4: someone who works for you come over when you're having
- 49:15Speaker 4: a tough moment or when you're going through something. It's
- 49:19Speaker 4: like there's a lot of pressure and Yeah, at the
- 49:22Speaker 4: end of the day, you have a great relationship and
- 49:25Speaker 4: you just have to be able to look at Sophia
- 49:27Speaker 4: and go, Okay, this is what's happening with her.
- 49:30Speaker 1: I'm gonna be right here.
- 49:31Speaker 3: I'm gonna do my thing.
- 49:32Speaker 1: She's gonna be fine.
- 49:33Speaker 3: We're all fine.
- 49:34Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, this is what she needs, this is
- 49:36Speaker 1: what I'm to do.
- 49:37Speaker 3: It's help me handle it.
- 49:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I've been dying to ask you what your assistant is,
- 49:42Speaker 2: Like I would be It's like as if I was,
- 49:45Speaker 2: you know, going to do I mean, actually was gonna
- 49:49Speaker 2: do an American Idol reference and I haven't watched the
- 49:52Speaker 2: table television in seventy years, but like, it's I would
- 49:57Speaker 2: be scared to be your assistant because you run an
- 50:01Speaker 2: assistant agency and you know everything.
- 50:05Speaker 4: My very first assistant, her name is Grace. She now
- 50:09Speaker 4: works for Clyde.
- 50:09Speaker 1: She's a talent coordinator. She is a sweetie and a
- 50:12Speaker 1: half her high Grace.
- 50:15Speaker 4: I found Grace through the Chapman University Career Center and
- 50:19Speaker 4: she started as my part time assistant while she was
- 50:21Speaker 4: still in college, and then when she graduated this past May,
- 50:24Speaker 4: we brought on full time in a different capacity because
- 50:28Speaker 4: and now I have a new assistant named Emily. Emily
- 50:31Speaker 4: is a precious, precious.
- 50:33Speaker 1: Sweet another sweetie.
- 50:35Speaker 3: I met Emily.
- 50:36Speaker 4: Because I did this big fire relief project in LA
- 50:40Speaker 4: right after everything happened in February.
- 50:44Speaker 2: I saw that that was amazing, Thank you amazing.
- 50:47Speaker 4: And I posted online saying, I need some interns for
- 50:50Speaker 4: this project because at the time, my entire team was
- 50:52Speaker 4: in New York. Sweet Emily walked through the door at
- 50:56Speaker 4: the fire relief center, first one in every day, last
- 50:59Speaker 4: one to leave. When she met me, I was so
- 51:02Speaker 4: chaotic and I looked at her, I go, okay, you're in.
- 51:05Speaker 4: I hired her on the spot as an intern, and
- 51:08Speaker 4: then realized how damn good she was at doing all
- 51:11Speaker 4: things assistant. And I knew that Grace wanted to be
- 51:15Speaker 4: more on the client side, client facing, recruiting side, so
- 51:20Speaker 4: it was a very synthetic.
- 51:22Speaker 1: Okay, Grace, you like doing more.
- 51:24Speaker 4: Of the stuff anyways, and I want Emily to be
- 51:26Speaker 4: my assistant.
- 51:29Speaker 1: Emily is just we love her, we adore her perfect well.
- 51:34Speaker 2: I know, and the team expand she's in La.
- 51:39Speaker 1: I go back to La on Sunday.
- 51:41Speaker 4: There, Yeah, we're doing the split thing right now. But
- 51:45Speaker 4: my whole team for the most part, besides Patrick is
- 51:47Speaker 4: in LA It's great.
- 51:51Speaker 1: We do in person twice a week. I'm very lucky.
- 51:54Speaker 1: I have a great team around me.
- 51:55Speaker 4: But similar to you, I like doing a lot of
- 51:58Speaker 4: the admin stuff, so I don't have Emily touch my calendar.
- 52:02Speaker 1: I do that myself.
- 52:04Speaker 3: Better at it, literally, who could be better at it?
- 52:07Speaker 2: I just I I need a picture of your calendar,
- 52:11Speaker 2: so color code. Will you flash it to me after this?
- 52:16Speaker 1: I don't know where my phone is, but I will.
- 52:18Speaker 4: Okay, there's still some things that I like to have
- 52:21Speaker 4: control over. I don't have her book any of my travel.
- 52:24Speaker 4: Shout out to Angelo. Angelo does my travel, but I
- 52:27Speaker 4: also do. I'll book a flight, you know, right, not I.
- 52:31Speaker 2: I like to book my flights too. And it's a
- 52:34Speaker 2: little bit was summed up on the calendar. But I
- 52:36Speaker 2: love how you're saying, like referring to your assistance, they're
- 52:39Speaker 2: so sweet. They're so sweet, and they're killers. There's no
- 52:44Speaker 2: way someone's working for you and it's not like secretly.
- 52:48Speaker 4: I have an amazing, amazing team, and I feel very lucky.
- 52:51Speaker 4: And I think because I was an assistant for so long,
- 52:54Speaker 4: there's nothing I'm going to ask these people to do
- 52:57Speaker 4: who work for me.
- 52:58Speaker 1: Work with me. Rather, that's crazy. I never asked Emily
- 53:03Speaker 1: for something to mind.
- 53:06Speaker 2: I'm so sorry.
- 53:10Speaker 1: You know, she's very good with my dogs.
- 53:12Speaker 4: I have two dogs now they're not here because my
- 53:17Speaker 4: Golden still a puppy and she would eat this micro
- 53:20Speaker 4: Also what and you.
- 53:21Speaker 2: Would you travel with two dogs? Damn damn girl.
- 53:26Speaker 1: Service animal right, two of them.
- 53:30Speaker 2: But you go to the justify to service animals.
- 53:33Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 53:35Speaker 4: I hope no one from Jets, because I go up
- 53:39Speaker 4: to that jet blue counter stoneface, they go, what service
- 53:43Speaker 4: do your dogs provide?
- 53:44Speaker 1: That go, you know, say my little bit and they
- 53:46Speaker 1: go proceed.
- 53:49Speaker 2: They've never once been like that.
- 53:53Speaker 1: It was my fault.
- 53:54Speaker 4: A couple of years ago, I was flying from l
- 53:56Speaker 4: A to New York around the holidays and my French bulldog.
- 53:59Speaker 3: He's eight, was Tate.
- 54:00Speaker 1: He's a sweet little man.
- 54:02Speaker 4: Instead of his service animal vest I had him in
- 54:04Speaker 4: a Ralph Lauren dog sweater and the dud jerk at
- 54:08Speaker 4: the counter. He was in angry alf He goes, that's
- 54:11Speaker 4: not a service animal, and.
- 54:12Speaker 1: He declined and lappy, so insane.
- 54:19Speaker 4: I mean, it was my fault, fully, my fault, but
- 54:22Speaker 4: that's the one time I did get in trouble.
- 54:25Speaker 2: Was like, this is my service, the animal and it's
- 54:30Speaker 2: wearing a green preppy Ralph Lauren like a probably button
- 54:36Speaker 2: up collar.
- 54:37Speaker 4: No, t was in the American flag turtle neck navy sweater.
- 54:42Speaker 4: He yeah, he actually looked like a little grandpa and
- 54:46Speaker 4: he was like smarring, like okay, and they're.
- 54:49Speaker 1: Like, yeah, your dog, you're out.
- 54:53Speaker 4: That is some So yeah, but I don't think that
- 54:56Speaker 4: guy works at the blue counter anymore because I haven't
- 54:59Speaker 4: seen him.
- 55:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that is a wrap.
- 55:04Speaker 4: Okay, So we're gonna do a little thing before I
- 55:09Speaker 4: released you, ladies.
- 55:11Speaker 1: We are going to prank phone call.

- 55:36Speaker 2: Look at how many.
- 55:37Speaker 1: Guys name Chris, Oh my.

- 57:50Speaker 4: some drugs, you smoke weed.
- 57:54Speaker 2: Okay, I've done that before and been like I'm on
- 57:57Speaker 2: the corner of stage like State Street with your like
- 58:00Speaker 2: can you come outside and like run down to the
- 58:02Speaker 2: car and get it that it's a hypothetic. It's a
- 58:07Speaker 2: hypothetical story. I'm not actually on the corner. I just
- 58:11Speaker 2: pretend to be a drug dealer and it's so funny.
- 58:15Speaker 2: But it's way funny. Like no, I've had people be like,
- 58:19Speaker 2: oh ship like maybe my friend, but that's usually like
- 58:22Speaker 2: at night.
- 58:22Speaker 3: Why was he into your boy?
- 58:24Speaker 2: Like he literally wanted to Did he not just try
- 58:26Speaker 2: to hit on this? Guys are disgusting discussing he has

- 58:37Speaker 2: who has a blocked number called them and says yes
- 58:41Speaker 2: I buy drugs sometimes and answers Okay, well that was
- 58:46Speaker 2: really fun and thrilling.
- 58:48Speaker 3: I have I have one I have won assistant thing
- 58:50Speaker 3: one less assistant. Go, let's go. I could just you
- 58:53Speaker 3: had asked my biggest fuck up. You know what I'm
- 58:59Speaker 3: about to say, I just want pants. I don't know laundry.
- 59:04Speaker 2: Oh my god. Okay, So to this day, like has
- 59:10Speaker 2: trauma over this.
- 59:12Speaker 3: I liked to died everything. I died everything. It was
- 59:16Speaker 3: I died everything.
- 59:17Speaker 2: It really was not like that big of a deal. Also,
- 59:20Speaker 2: I was having her do an emergency laundry load when
- 59:24Speaker 2: I had a flight in about four hours. Pulling it
- 59:27Speaker 2: was we were pulling it all nighter. It was frantic,
- 59:29Speaker 2: it was chaos. It was crazy, but soph to this
- 59:32Speaker 2: day because like I don't ask you to ever like
- 59:35Speaker 2: help with that. I guess I.
- 59:37Speaker 3: Just like to do You're so diligent with laundry. And
- 59:40Speaker 3: also it was unhew.
- 59:43Speaker 2: Did you die everything?
- 59:44Speaker 3: New black sweatpants, new black sweatpants, And I just like
- 59:49Speaker 3: put everything in there, like I just was not thinking.
- 59:52Speaker 3: And then I remember when you checked it, like you
- 59:54Speaker 3: were not being mean in any way. You opened and
- 59:56Speaker 3: you're like, yeah, this wasn't right. It was I am
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: going to disappear. I'm gonna disappear.
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: That I didn't remember that. You're like, you know what
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: I'm talking about like, no, I don't implication of.
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: Like I know how to do my laundry. I know
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: how to do my laundry.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: Laundry, but you don't. Also, she doesn't do her own laundry.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: It's kind of all.
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: I don't have a laundry. I do it at the washingful.
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: I don't do it. A washing fold does it in Chinatown.
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: Previous to that, I did my own laundry.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: So if I never thought.
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: I do when I'm home, I do when I'm home.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: That's the most offensive thing is if you think so
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: if I can't do launch, which I know you can
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: do laundry. I know that.
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: I just wanted to say that.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: That's you've got that off.
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: I bring it up to that out.
- 1:00:49Speaker 4: Okay, guys, lastly before we go, because it's Friday, what
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: advice would you give someone who's a trying to get
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: their foot in the door in media or entertainment and
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: maybe other Sofia, someone who is just graduating and trying
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: to get their first job figure out what they want.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: To do career wise. So start with Sophia number one.
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: If you want to get your foot in the door
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: in the entertainment industry, I think going and being an
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: assistant is actually a pretty good way to do it,
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: and you should go to Clyde Staffing Agency and submit
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: your application. I'm not even drove that because I think
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: you know, whereas back in the day, I would say
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: post on your socials posts like crazy shit, the game
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: now is like really like you can't really rig it anymore.
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: It is so saturated, It is so like crazy that
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: I think, you know, going the assistant route and like me,
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: people and figuring out what you like and what you
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: want to do in the entertainment space is actually really smart.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: I love that answer.
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: Yeah, I didn't tell her to say anything.
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: She did, Oh she did.
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: Clyde is where you need to go.
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: I think.
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: Also, just don't be intimidated if you want to do
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: something in entertainment and don't have any experience in that.
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: Maybe like I studied history in English. That's like what
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: I was super passionate about.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: I start nursing.
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: Yeah I hate blood so.
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: But like there's exposure therapy. Yeah, exposure therapy.
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: And I know because your path too, and like doing
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: the celebrity styling and all these things, there is a
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: domino effect that will happen and like if you have
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: critical thinking skills and are a kind person and a
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: social person like you will find your people. And it
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: can be in any arena. Like I didn't go to
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: film school. I didn't you know, study communications like or
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: anything like that, but you can still that's really.
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: Helpful for people to hear because there are so many
- 1:02:58Speaker 4: schools believe it or not, that's still don't have film
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: programs and kids who want who are curious about the
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: entertainment industry but are worried because they maybe didn't major
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: in film or no background or no internship.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: You can still make it. Your twenties are the time
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: to figure it out. And I didn't know what I
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: was doing until my late later.
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: Twenties, so there's always time, there's always Networking is really important.
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think saying yes to everything like just
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: try don't say no, like just be okay with like
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: feeling uncomfortable and embarrassed and just try it.
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: Try it. You don't have to try it off their paths.
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: It does not have to be linear.
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: I mean I kind of did a little Morgan Stanley.
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: Podcast ever be over that, Like I you know, I
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: talked to New York, like you don't you have come
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: out of n y U, no shout out. Wow, you're
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: the best so much yay.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: Thank you everyone who's watching.
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: At Clyde Confidential on Instagram and email podcast at clydestaffing
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: dot com if you would like to get involved and
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: partner with us.
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: Bye bye guys,
