- 0:33SPEAKER_01: We are excited you're here today and we hope you stick around for this one because it's gonna be a big one.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: So today we are going to be talking about the realness of money, fear, and investing in yourself.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: So get ready.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: We're gonna dive a little deeper here, but we want to kind of have you, we want to invite you to think about what if the way we spend, save, avoid, or invest money is connected to what we believe we're actually worthy of.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: Beautiful.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah, this is a big conversation.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: I know it's a little taboo, and you know, we've had these different belief systems and the way we've been taught about money and you know, all the things that we grew up hearing about money.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: And so this is a big conversation.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: I know it's a conversation that we've been wanting to have, and it just felt like the right time to do it.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: And so we're gonna just go a little bit over our own money story, our relationship with money, how we grew up with it, and you know, start exploring what we're talking about.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: Like, what was your story around money?
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: What did your parents show you around money?
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: And I know I learned a lot of the sayings like money doesn't grow on trees, you know.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: What do you think?
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: I oh my gosh, to the one my dad used to say, kid risked money for, kid rich money for.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: Literally, he would say that all the time.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: And I just remembered that right now as we're talking about it.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: And so, yeah, there's four kids, right?
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: And so we did have a big family, but my parents always thought about money, and I've come to the realization that uh it was a way that my control my dad controlled my mom around money, and the control for her, well, then it trickles down into the kid, right?
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: And like this saying, like the shit rolls downhill.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: And so I've been really exploring this a lot lately, and I've been doing so much money work over the years, and I am still unraveling these money stories because they are so deeply embedded in our subconscious, in our body, in our belief systems, and who we are, and so this is I feel like a continual practice for me at this point.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: I have not um got the codes on this yet, um, like I have in some of the areas in my life, and so yeah, so there was a lot of fighting around money in my household, and it always felt very constricted and very like we don't have the money for that, right?
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: And I know we used to go shopping, you know, at the beginning of the year for for school supplies, or school, you know, clothes and stuff like that, but it was always like, oh, we can only get this many things, or you can only do this, and it just felt very restrictive as a kid.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: So I personally learned that like money is not gonna be easy to come by.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: I also worked that you learned that you had to work really hard for your money because my dad he got up, he went to work, he came home, and there still wasn't any money, right?
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: And so it's like, okay, so there still had to be more that needed to be done in order for money to be more accessible to us.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: And so my mom was a stay-at-home mom, and so she didn't have any access to money.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: So literally everything came from my dad.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: And he grew up poor, and they didn't have a lot of money.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: There was seven kids, and my grandpa had died at a very young age.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Like, I think the oldest was like in his teenage years, and there was kids all the way behind him.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and so they grew up with no lot of money, and so it makes sense that my dad, I believe, hoarded a lot of money, and you know, that I could go into like very many stories about that, but for me, I'm still unraveling of like I don't have to earn and work so hard for me to be abundant, right?
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: And it's just it doesn't come just to money, money.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: I think it becomes like an abundance, right?
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: Like an abundance of love, an abundance of you know, the air that we breathe, right?
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: There's so many things that are in abundance, and this money is the same way.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: There's so much money, and it is an energy, and we're gonna talk a little bit more about that.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: And so really deconditioning our beliefs around money is so important for us to be more abundant in life.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: And I'm really excited to dive into this with you guys.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: Yes, exactly.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: And I don't remember exactly sayings that were happened um, you know, when I'm growing up around money, but I would say that it actually wasn't a like it was more of like that taboo topic.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: Like we kind of we didn't talk about it, you know, openly that like, you know, not that we were like, I know we were good, we were definitely like middle class.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: Like my my dad did really well, and my mom was able to be a stay-at-home mom.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: So, you know, we didn't do terrible, and I wasn't like necessarily poor, and we were able to do the sports and stuff that we wanted to.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: So it was more of like, you know, we had that Lyso, and I think just from their own beliefs and their own things, they didn't want us to be involved in the money conversation, right?
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: Because it's like, you know, you're a kid, you know, that's not for you kind of thing.
- 5:14SPEAKER_01: So I wasn't really taught the like that, you know, money is a great conversation to have.
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: Like, and I wasn't necessarily taught, at least that I remember, that like, you know, here's what to do with money, you know.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: So I feel like as soon as I open up my first credit card, I too totally max it out.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: And, you know, I just kept going, like, okay, I can spend it on this and I can spend it on this.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: Like, so it was like that little bit of freedom, you know.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: And I still have credit card debt to this day.
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: And that's where it's like now I'm taking ownership and responsibility of my own money and being like, okay, now of course, what do I relate money to?
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: What do I relate this feeling with?
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: And we'll talk about more of the energy piece.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: And I just really understood now.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: I'm just learning more about my relationship with money and what, and again, like you said, the abundance piece of being like, I know I am not suffering like you know, where I have before, where I'm like, oh my God, I'm getting down low to my account now.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: What and freaking out?
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: And I've gotten into more practices where I have these money dates with myself, where I actually keep track.
- 6:15SPEAKER_01: And again, am I where I want to be?
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: Absolutely not.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: But it helps me to be less avoidant with my money because that's exactly what I used to do.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: It's just be like, I'm just not gonna look at the numbers, you know, that's fine.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm fine with just not looking at the numbers.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, my brother got into quite a bit of credit card debt.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: He was four years older than me.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: And I remember being like, okay, don't do that.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: Learn from his mistake.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: And, you know, it's interesting that we don't learn how to spend money or how to save money or any of those things in school.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: Like how to spill out a W2 and like what is a W9 and all the things that we actually need to go out into the world and live.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: Like, we're not even taught that by our school.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: So, you know, uh, if you I don't know where, you know, baby boomers, right?
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: Or is our parents, right?
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: And so like they weren't taught to talk about money, and it is very taboo.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: And I think for a lot of our learning that we've been coming into is like money is just energy, and it's like what we put behind it matters so much.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: And so it's been an interesting.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: I I'm actually me and Jason just started working through the Light Worker Society again with one of our mentors, and we just sat down and we rewrote all of our like all of our parents' beliefs around money and like how it's been showing up in our life.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: And today we actually were like had so much abundance come through.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: Like I had um there was a sign, what is that alert on my um car today when I went to the gym, and it was like don't turn off your car because your battery is gonna like die, or whatever.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: It was like keep your car charging.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: And I was like, Oh my goodness, like now we need a new battery, and then we ended up being able to make it home.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: And I started the car, and so I was like trying to price out like the triple A, and then I was like, I'm pretty sure we have a triple A battery.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: And anyways, they ended up coming out, they were supposed to call me and quote me, but they ended up just coming to the house, and I was like, Well, I know it's starting, or and so we ended up finding the uh receipt, and then we got a new battery for free, it's under warranty by a week, okay.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: By one week, yeah, exactly.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: And so that was awesome.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: And then Jason was like, Oh, I have some really great news, and he's in sales and he had like calculated the money he thought he was gonna get and ended up being like an extra thousand dollars.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: And I was like, Yes, he's got them.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: So it's been really cool to see people doing the work and looking at looking at the things instead of avoiding it, like you were talking about, and like here it is because I know you had some abundance coming through recently as well.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, absolutely.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: I've been definitely working with money and doing meditations and practices that allow me to feel more abundant because again, you know, where we're at, like I've journaled, I've done the seminars, I've done the things to work around money, which it definitely helps.
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: But if you don't practice those pieces consistently, it definitely you definitely automatically go into scarcity.
- 8:52SPEAKER_01: So it's really understanding where your nervous system is with money.
- 8:55SPEAKER_01: And we're gonna go into that too a little bit deeper.
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: But I have found practices, I found meditations where it helped me rewire what I was feeling and thinking about money.
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: So I realized that, you know, looking at my money now is like step number one, just kind of being aware, but then also being like more open to receiving.
- 9:12SPEAKER_01: And that could not just be money, it could be different things.
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: And I manifested unintentionally um the credit on my electric bill, which who gets a credit on their electric bill, especially nowadays, you know, and we have solar panels, luckily, so it's like usually really low in the summertime.
- 9:29SPEAKER_01: So I love summertime.
- 9:30SPEAKER_01: And um, but I was like, am I reading things wrong?
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: Did I forget to pay?
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: Did I, you know, it's like those thoughts are going to my mind before the whole, oh, I have a credit.
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: And then I was like, wait a second, it's actually a credit.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: And I was like mind blown because I was like, oh my God, this works.
- 9:45SPEAKER_01: Like just like that's so cool.
- 9:48SPEAKER_01: And you know, again, it's like one of these things where whenever you're in a new phase and whenever you're uh getting asked to do something, whether it's when you when you want to work on your money, you might get a little tested first, right?
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: It's like, what is your intention behind something?
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: So are you going to show up and not and look at your finances or look at that number every day and start to get yourself familiar with it?
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: Are you going to maybe budget if that feels good for you?
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: Maybe budgeting doesn't feel good for you.
- 10:13SPEAKER_01: So what's that next step that you can do so that way you can understand, you know, and again, looking at your relationship with money and what your parents viewed as and what you were taught.
- 10:22SPEAKER_01: I do remember as you were talking to that, we did get a little bit of an allowance.
- 10:25SPEAKER_01: And I do remember saving and like saving for something, you know, but like I definitely would be like, I think my brother was more of a saver, and of course he's an accountant now, so he's really good with numbers.
- 10:34SPEAKER_01: I am not.
- 10:36SPEAKER_01: And I would definitely spend it.
- 10:38SPEAKER_01: And then it was be like, you know, I would I would be good for a little while and then I would just spend it all.
- 10:44SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, I don't even know what I'd spend it on.
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't remember at this point, you know, does it matter?
- 10:48SPEAKER_01: Not really.
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: Okay, so speaking of money, money we look at in our bank accounts.
- 11:01SPEAKER_01: And all it is is just numbers, right?
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: At the end of the day, we're looking at numbers.
- 11:07SPEAKER_01: But numbers and money, specifically in our accounts, can activate some really big emotions.
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: So maybe as you're we were talking and maybe you're thinking of some stories and you relate to the avoiding and relate to building up credit card debt and whatever that is for you.
- 11:23SPEAKER_01: Uh think about what money actually activates within you.
- 11:27SPEAKER_01: So maybe just even hearing the the word money really activates you.
- 11:31SPEAKER_01: Maybe you feel some tightness in your chest, some gut, you know, drops in your belly.
- 11:38SPEAKER_01: What are you feeling?
- 11:40SPEAKER_01: And maybe it's the fear of not having enough.
- 11:43SPEAKER_01: Maybe it's the fear of making the wrong financial decision and quote unquote wrong.
- 11:48SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: Maybe it's guilt when you spend money on yourself and when you blow everything and you you do something in the moment because it's creating dopamine for you and that instant boost, but you're like afterwards, like, what did I just do?
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 12:01SPEAKER_01: I've definitely had those moments.
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: Maybe it is shame around debt or financial mistakes, like I've said, credit card debt for sure.
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: It's like I get really good, and then you know, it's it's just understanding your patterns and understanding what is happening.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: What are you um comparing your financial situation to other people's?
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: Maybe you're comparing it to me and Desi's right now.
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: Maybe you're comparing it to your neighbors, or maybe a lot of a big thing is social media is like you can you ever hear of like the phrase of like keeping up with the Joneses, right?
- 12:34SPEAKER_01: Like keeping up with everyone else, like I gotta have the new car, I gotta have the new outfit, I gotta have the, you know, whatever, because theirs looks better than mine.
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: Like the grass is green on the other side.
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: So just notice without judgment yet, um, you know, and and ever really, we don't want to look at this with judgment.
- 12:51SPEAKER_01: We wanna, we don't want to talk about this with judgment.
- 12:54SPEAKER_01: It's more of just an open curiosity and awareness because awareness is the first step and getting really honest of like, okay, where am I at actually?
- 13:02SPEAKER_01: Maybe you don't look at your bank account enough.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: I actually, you know, have been noticing my patterns too as I'm working with this.
- 13:09SPEAKER_01: I'm realizing I'm creating these little patterns and these little stories as I think about money.
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, I'm already ahead of myself.
- 13:17SPEAKER_01: I'm already worried about the next payment for something that I'm like, oh my God, how am I gonna pay for this?
- 13:22SPEAKER_01: And then I look at my account and I'm like, why am I even worried?
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: It's actually great right now.
- 13:27SPEAKER_01: Like this is silly.
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: Like we just literally create these stories.
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I have plenty right now.
- 13:32SPEAKER_01: And maybe it's not like, you know, the most that I have, but I'm like, I'm taken care of, I'm supported, you know, like this is this intention that I am investing in right now is exactly where I need to be.
- 13:45SPEAKER_01: So what else are you feeling?
- 13:48SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, maybe it's your age and you're feeling a little behind because you think you should be further with money, right?
- 13:53SPEAKER_01: How often that does that happen with that comparing?
- 13:55SPEAKER_01: Where we're like, oh my God, we, you know, we're in our 30s and 40s and we should have everything figured out.
- 14:00SPEAKER_01: And how do we not have our money figured out yet?
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: It's ridiculous, right?
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: So thinking about just the anxiety, the scarcity, the uncertainty, maybe with the fear of not having enough or not knowing when it's gonna come in.
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: I know this is happening in my household right now.
- 14:17SPEAKER_01: We have a lot of scarcity and fear, and we have to keep working on that because if we feed into that fear, it just is gonna grow and it's gonna get bigger.
- 14:25SPEAKER_01: So instead of operating from the words I can't, or, you know, um, or like it's impossible or I don't know how it's gonna happen, you really want to switch and shift to what is possible, what is actually possible.
- 14:40SPEAKER_01: And so, you know, having the scarcity mindset and just notice, maybe if you're you're swiping your card or you're paying for groceries this week, which again, you know, we get it.
- 14:51SPEAKER_01: Groceries are not the cheapest or not, you know, are it's hard sometimes to go to the store and really be like, wow, I'm really spending, you know, a decent amount on on things that are necessities now.
- 15:01SPEAKER_01: So instead of just saying, you know, I'm spending, you know, these gro for these groceries that are going to feed my family, that are going to nourish me, and being like, when is the next money coming in?
- 15:11SPEAKER_01: And I won't have enough, right?
- 15:12SPEAKER_01: We want to, we want to shift that mindset.
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: So maybe you can start to be like, I can be responsible with my money and it is flowing in.
- 15:19SPEAKER_01: Like I literally get paid every week.
- 15:20SPEAKER_01: Why am I freaking out?
- 15:21SPEAKER_01: Why am I panicking in this moment?
- 15:23SPEAKER_01: And look at how you can actually be in gratitude for whatever you're spending on as you are at the store.
- 15:31SPEAKER_01: Grocery, that was one thing that I used to do all the time because I really valued uh nourishment and I valued healthy foods.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: And yeah, I maybe spent a little bit more extra on on uh different foods each week where I'm like, you know, maybe I didn't use all of it, but I valued that for myself, right?
- 15:49SPEAKER_01: And that's that's what's most important.
- 15:51SPEAKER_01: If you value something, you're gonna spend money on it.
- 15:54SPEAKER_01: If you value something for yourself and you think you're worth it, then it's gonna happen and you're gonna make it happen.
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: And the universe God's tour spirit is going to support you in it.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, and just think of like, what do you want bad enough that you're like, I need it right now, and you had the money, you and nothing happened after that, right?
- 16:12SPEAKER_01: Like it's like, okay, I did it and I was still supported later.
- 16:17SPEAKER_01: So just just a thing to think about.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: You know, there's so many different things we can talk about, and for the sake of time, you know, we can have to narrow it down.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: And the next thing we're gonna really talk about is like, what does it mean to actually bet on yourself, bet on your future, a bet on your future self?
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: And I just want to say, like the podcast, obviously, we're here listening to it, which is great.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: We're getting information, we're understanding, we're having awareness.
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: You know, we can read the books and the books are great, and they're gonna give us a lot of information as well, and a lot of things that we can apply and that we can put into use.
- 16:49SPEAKER_00: Those are all great.
- 16:49SPEAKER_00: Information is great, awareness is key, but there is something so special and so I don't know what the word is I'm looking for right now, but there is something so dramatically, what is the word I'm looking for?
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: Like when you invest in yourself, you know what I mean?
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: There's something you can't put a price on actually investing in yourself.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: Like when you actually put money where your mouth is and spend the money on yourself, like it is so pivotal in so many ways that it is the next level where you want to go, right?
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: That is the next version of you who does spend money on themselves.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: And so sometimes it could feel super easy to spend$500 uh on something that is familiar rather than$500 on a coach or your health or hiring help, right?
- 17:34SPEAKER_00: Because that's unfamiliar.
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: And I know we've talked about this in other podcasts, but like our nervous system will choose a familiar hail than it will choose in that next level because it is what it's used to.
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: And I've seen this before where people are like, oh, I don't have the cash to uh to to invest in myself right now.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: But then they'll go, you know, spend the money somewhere else.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: And uh and I'm like, wait a minute, but okay, the dots and the T's are not crossing over here, but it's just because it's natural for us to be like, okay, let me go spend it on, you know, clothing or tattoos or some shoes that are gonna make me feel good for five minutes, right?
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: And so so it's really having to understand that, like, yeah, it's not gonna feel comfortable investing in yourself if you've never done it before, trust me.
- 18:18SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 18:19SPEAKER_00: So this way firsthand.
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: It's like, oh my gosh, what if what is gonna happen, right?
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: And so sometimes, you know, the investment doesn't always guarantee an outcome.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: And I think it's easier for us to get behind something, and I know I've done this too.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: It's like, okay, well, you can you guarantee that I'm gonna have X, Y, and Z.
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: And that's not always the case when we're investing in ourselves.
- 18:39SPEAKER_00: Like, say if you're starting to start your own business, right?
- 18:42SPEAKER_00: Like me and Lisa are very versed in this.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: You know how I have spent so much money on my business and getting coaches and mentors and spending money on the back-end things and everything, right?
- 18:52SPEAKER_00: Like, it's not necessarily a guaranteed outcome, but the vision is bigger than my fears.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: The vision is bigger than my scarcity, right?
- 19:00SPEAKER_00: And so we have to come back to like what is it that I truly want in my life?
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: You know, so investing yourself can fear feel terrifying because there's no guarantee to an outcome.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: But when we bet on ourselves, we will always win 110%.
- 19:13SPEAKER_00: And so, whether that's you know, taking a class and investing yourself and going to the gym, hiring somebody to help you be better at the thing that you want to do, right?
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: You have to still invest your time.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: You still have to show up and do the thing.
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: Like we can pay all day long a thousand dollars for you know 20 hours of business coaching, but unless I show up to the calls and I implement what they're telling me to do, like, you know, we have to continue to bet on ourselves over and over again.
- 19:39SPEAKER_00: And so I think another one too is like investing in your health, like a naturopathic doctor, right?
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: Like instead of just Western medicine, we wanna and we wanna go to a naturopathic doctor who's gonna test for more things in our blood work, like our hormones and things that are really affecting us.
- 19:53SPEAKER_00: Like that could all seem really scary.
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: And you're also betting on yourself and you're also betting on your future.
- 20:00SPEAKER_00: And so sometimes when we feel like we don't have the proof, then we can talk ourselves out of it.
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: And another thing, too, that I'm gonna put in here that wasn't on our notes is believing in it, right?
- 20:11SPEAKER_00: Is one thing for us to believe in it and and say, okay, I want to do this thing.
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: And sometimes we'll take it to our partners who's never spent any money on themselves, who doesn't understand what coaching is, who doesn't understand the importance of where you're trying to go, and sometimes they'll shoot it down, right?
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: And you have to come back to who is it that you're desiring to be?
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: What is the vision that you have?
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: How is it that you want to live your life?
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: And a lot of the times when we're thinking about investing in ourselves, like it always comes back to, you know, not having enough money or not feeling like it's the right time or wanting to get our finances in a better position.
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: And yes, there's all value in that, and I'm not saying to not do that and not be responsible for your money, but again, if we're gonna continue to choose a familiar hill over and over again, it's gonna feel uncomfortable to choose the thing.
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: And so what you could do is really listen to that intuition.
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: What is your intuition saying?
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: Is it my fear talking?
- 21:06SPEAKER_00: Again, because you gotta remember your ego and your fear are meant to keep you safe.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: So if they're meant to keep you safe, investing in yourself definitely isn't gonna feel like the right choice.
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: But again, going back to that intuition, does it feel right in my body?
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: Is it a yes in my intuition?
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: Is my gut telling me yes?
- 21:26SPEAKER_00: Does this feel right?
- 21:27SPEAKER_00: Or am I just letting my fear and my ego lead, right?
- 21:31SPEAKER_00: And so really getting clear on that intuition and that fear, and that's a practice, right?
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: It's something that we practice with our clients, it's something that I practice with ourselves, and it's something like you can make it a game, right?
- 21:41SPEAKER_00: When you're like learning to tap into your intuition, but it's so important to know what is actually speaking and what is actually truth.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: Do you have anything you want to add to that?
- 21:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think the understanding what is that yes and no in your body, that intuition piece is really, really interesting.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Important when you're asking yourself about spending money and time.
- 22:05SPEAKER_01: Because again, these are two emotional factors that we look at so often and we actually stop ourselves even more often because we say no and we really want to say yes.
- 22:18SPEAKER_01: And for example, I I could easily say no to an opportunity that's coming up that I just shared with Desi that I'm really excited about is I I saw that this place is this little content studio and they're doing like little live um like photo shoots and like you do a you do it's like a theme and everything and I've been wanting to go and they have a pop-up one and I just happen to see it and it's a witchy one and I'm like, oh my God, I have to say yes, I have to be there.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: And does it logically make sense?
- 22:49SPEAKER_01: Absolutely not, because I'm investing in multiple programs right now and a mentor, and I'm like, where the hell is this money coming from?
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: I don't know, you know, and it's one of these things that's testing me right now where I am betting on myself 100% this year.
- 23:06SPEAKER_01: I have been betting on myself since April, since I joined my certification.
- 23:09SPEAKER_01: And over and over and over again, something has come of it.
- 23:13SPEAKER_01: I've been manifesting money, I've been showing up for myself.
- 23:16SPEAKER_01: I am creating the worth that I truly believe that I am and I have.
- 23:21SPEAKER_01: And, you know, it's one of those conversations that we don't open that door of like, well, what do you believe you're worth?
- 23:28SPEAKER_01: What do you believe you're worth?
- 23:29SPEAKER_01: You know, do you believe you're worth the, you know,$100 dress over the fifth, the$20 dress, you know?
- 23:36SPEAKER_01: And nothing's wrong with that, right?
- 23:37SPEAKER_01: It's like, what is your values?
- 23:39SPEAKER_01: Is it material things?
- 23:41SPEAKER_01: For me and Desi, I think we can both say that we love investing in growth.
- 23:45SPEAKER_01: We love learning from mentors, we love improving ourselves.
- 23:50SPEAKER_01: So we would rather do that over something else that someone else picks, whether it's, you know, a stylish thing, a bag or or, you know, something like that.
- 23:59SPEAKER_01: And we have our moments.
- 24:00SPEAKER_01: Doesn't mean that we don't like that stuff, but it's really understanding what is a yes for you?
- 24:05SPEAKER_01: What is what is that for you?
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: And, you know, sometimes we just have to like sit with it.
- 24:10SPEAKER_01: And sometimes it is about being like, you know what, maybe it's a hard decision, maybe we truly want it, but we need to sleep on it for a minute because then we can really decide is are we doing this to fulfill something, fill an in fill a need, you know, that like a little space to be avoided or hit just get that dopamine for a moment?
- 24:29SPEAKER_01: Or can or is it actually like an actual full body yes from us?
- 24:33SPEAKER_01: I know for myself, something that like is a little reward that I did uh two weeks ago when I was like showing up every day for my workouts and I was showing up every day on social media because I'm I'm building something and I really want to show up for myself and I feel confident in it.
- 24:48SPEAKER_01: I treated myself to an outfit.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: I I went on Amazon, I've been looking at like a couple outfits, and I'm like, you know what?
- 24:53SPEAKER_01: I want to update my wardrobe because I feel like I need to dress who I want to be.
- 24:57SPEAKER_01: It's about the vision, it's about who I'm becoming.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: So this photo shoot, I that version of me that is in the future and that I'm becoming right now, she says yes to that photo shoot.
- 25:07SPEAKER_01: So I'm like, okay, I'm showing up as her, you know, and that's that's what you receive back when you start to say yes to yourself and like a full body yes, not just like I want it and I'm gonna like tip my toe in because trust me, I've been one foot in and one foot out for the longest time.
- 25:25SPEAKER_01: And I am learning these lessons over and over again.
- 25:28SPEAKER_01: Is it easy?
- 25:29SPEAKER_01: Absolutely not.
- 25:29SPEAKER_01: But your intuition, I'm gonna say, is the most important piece from this.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: I think too, another thing that I hear a lot from women is they have a lot of guilt spending on themselves, especially if they have passion.
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: And it's really hard for them.
- 25:46SPEAKER_00: And what I always try I always remind them is the more that you fill up your cups, the more that you do the thing for yourself, it trickles down to the rest of the family.
- 25:56SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, it might feel really hard to spend$200 on a you know, coaching call or breath work, whatever it is.
- 26:03SPEAKER_00: But it's like, but think about what you're gonna walk away with, right?
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: And that's an important thing.
- 26:07SPEAKER_00: Like, what are you actually walking away with?
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: Which I know you're gonna get into a lot more of that right now, but like as a mom, it's kind of your job to fill up your cup because what are we doing when we give from an empty cup?
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: And I and I'm not trying to like shame or guilt anybody because I know mom guilt the whole thing.
- 26:23SPEAKER_00: I just got off a call with a mom about the guilt of going to spend her time building her business in Vegas for a conference, but you know, it's like, yeah, but once we work on those things, right?
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: We don't we're not carrying as much shame and guilt.
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: We're not carrying as much, you know, I should be doing this or I'm not doing that, right?
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: We're becoming more present with our kids.
- 26:42SPEAKER_00: And so um, as a mom, and and it's especially important because you're raising little humans that are gonna shape the rest of this world, which is so fun and so exciting.
- 26:50SPEAKER_00: It's such a huge blessing.
- 26:52SPEAKER_00: And so, you know, even those little moments where you are maybe even spending money on the dress that you want, right?
- 26:58SPEAKER_00: It doesn't have to be like besting in a whole thing, but like the dress that's gonna make you feel good to go on date night with your husband that you finally get after all week with the kids, right?
- 27:06SPEAKER_00: It's like, where are you placing your values and where are you placing your energy and like knowing that like every time you fill up your cup and every time you choose yourself, you're choosing the rest of your family.
- 27:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:18SPEAKER_01: And I think it's also a great lesson for kids, you know, to be able to like you don't have to sacrifice all the time and never fill your own cup up.
- 27:28SPEAKER_01: I know sometimes that happens with me and my boyfriend and his son.
- 27:32SPEAKER_01: It's like it's hard sometimes because you know, we have to teach him like we get to be, we get to have a life too, you know.
- 27:38SPEAKER_01: We get we have interests and we have hobbies and we want to do things, you know.
- 27:41SPEAKER_01: We love him and we love our time with him, but there's a reason, you know, why his mom, but why we have split weekends, you know.
- 27:47SPEAKER_01: So, because she does the same thing when she doesn't have her kids, she gets to enjoy her life and we also want to do the same.
- 27:53SPEAKER_01: And nothing's wrong, again, with having your kids all the time and involving them.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: But again, that's even more the point.
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: Like, you need to be the example in that way, be the role model of like everyone is important in your in your life, and you are probably the most important piece because if you are not um coming from a place, I actually shared this in my instant shift.
- 28:14SPEAKER_01: It's like if you're not coming from a place from love instead of for love, what is that energy difference?
- 28:20SPEAKER_01: If you're appeasing people just to do that, you're not valuing yourself, you're valuing their opinions over yourself.
- 28:27SPEAKER_01: But when you value your own self and you and you feel into your heart space and you feel into that, yes, you're able to show up a lot differently and have a better energy.
- 28:35SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, how different would it be if you showed up the best version of yourself for your kids, for your family, for your partner, for work?
- 28:42SPEAKER_01: Everything becomes a little bit easier, right?
- 28:45SPEAKER_01: So we just want to remind you that you are worth it.
- 28:50SPEAKER_00: And maybe good.
- 28:53SPEAKER_00: No, it's the biggest thing is like saying yes to yourself.
- 28:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so often we say yes to other people on other things, and but like yes to yourself.
- 29:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 29:02SPEAKER_01: You're saying, yeah, when just like I said earlier, like saying yes is defining your worth, it is defining what you value.
- 29:11SPEAKER_01: And if you have a moment, if you're not driving while you're listening to this, just bring your hand to your heart space just for a moment, take a deep breath in, close your eyes or keep them open.
- 29:22SPEAKER_01: And exhale and just say to yourself, I am worthy.
- 29:29SPEAKER_01: I am worth it.
- 29:32SPEAKER_01: And maybe that doesn't feel exactly true just yet.
- 29:36SPEAKER_01: Maybe you can say something like, I am beginning to find my worth.
- 29:40SPEAKER_01: I'm beginning to find what I value truly to fill up my cup.
- 29:45SPEAKER_01: And maybe right now it's just an exploration of that.
- 29:48SPEAKER_01: What do you value?
- 29:50SPEAKER_01: What is for you?
- 29:51SPEAKER_01: You can gently open the eyes if you're if you haven't already.
- 29:55SPEAKER_01: But sometimes we measure value and something being worth it as just a financial piece, just a financial return, right?
- 30:04SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, when we invest in things or when we do things like I have to make money off of it, right?
- 30:09SPEAKER_01: How many of us do that for sure?
- 30:11SPEAKER_01: Me, absolutely.
- 30:12SPEAKER_01: But what is it costing you when you when you don't invest in that thing?
- 30:18SPEAKER_01: And it might not give you a financial return.
- 30:20SPEAKER_01: Maybe it's something else.
- 30:21SPEAKER_01: And and I can tell you that I have been in programs and I've invested a decent amount in programs that I don't do fully, but I trust that whatever I get out of it is exactly what I need out of it.
- 30:33SPEAKER_01: And I actually had this with my mentor.
- 30:35SPEAKER_01: I invested it in another mastermind with her for a year, and I'm like, this is a stretch.
- 30:40SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't know how I'm gonna do this, but I I know I need to be there.
- 30:44SPEAKER_01: And the first call, she like, because I told her this and she's like, uh, do you realize why you're here now?
- 30:49SPEAKER_01: Because everyone's conversation exactly hits your points, and like you need to be in this room.
- 30:54SPEAKER_01: So it's someone something that sometimes you can't define until you're done, you're finished it.
- 31:00SPEAKER_01: So even though it might not be a financial, maybe the return is more confidence.
- 31:06SPEAKER_01: Maybe it's more peace.
- 31:09SPEAKER_01: Maybe it's better relationship, just like we said, like saying yes to yourself gives you more, uh gives you, fills you, fills your cup up more so you can become a better version of yourself with your family, with your kids, with work, whatever.
- 31:22SPEAKER_01: Maybe what you receive is actually more healing.
- 31:25SPEAKER_01: Maybe you're focusing on health, and maybe you need to invest in your health right now, and you need to give up alcohol like me right now because it's not serving me right now.
- 31:34SPEAKER_01: I'm saying yes to that version of me that feels freaking great, you know, and saying no to things is the cost of it, but you're getting something else instead.
- 31:44SPEAKER_01: So maybe you're receiving more time and more freedom and more courage.
- 31:49SPEAKER_01: Maybe it's just a new perspective.
- 31:51SPEAKER_01: Maybe you go to something and you get yourself out of the comfort zone and you meet somebody new, or you're just around someone else's energy and you're like, wow, I really didn't know I really needed that.
- 32:01SPEAKER_01: I went to a yoga event a couple of weeks ago and I realized this person flipped me off.
- 32:07SPEAKER_01: That again, I I don't know why this happens to me, but I'm like, I'm so sorry that you are having a bad day and I'm sending you love and I'm sending you healing.
- 32:16SPEAKER_01: This person, because um, you're I'm going to yoga and I'm gonna feel really great after this.
- 32:22SPEAKER_01: I'm filling my cup up.
- 32:23SPEAKER_01: So, you know, sometimes you have to send people love and light when they're not they're not in the best.
- 32:27SPEAKER_01: Because I'm I'm just really grateful that I have a great perspective and that I'm investing in myself going to this yoga event, connecting with people that just get me, or and also we can have these really cool conversations with I got my aura photography taken, like really cool experiences when you say yes to yourself and you just never know what might happen.
- 32:46SPEAKER_01: So, again, when you realize and you start to value yourself, you start to say your uh your yeses, you start to actually feel worthy and feel valued, you're gonna become more supported and you're gonna become the version of yourself that you've been trying to access.
- 33:02SPEAKER_01: So the question for you is what does being worthy or worth it, you know, when you invest in something or say yes and spend money, maybe what does that mean to you now?
- 33:16SPEAKER_01: And a reminder, you know, ponder and and maybe journal about this.
- 33:20SPEAKER_01: Like, can something be financially expensive, quote unquote, but energetically worth it?
- 33:26SPEAKER_01: Like you're receiving something way better than just financial value afterwards.
- 33:32SPEAKER_01: And lastly, just what happens when we trust ourselves enough to make decisions based on our own values?
- 33:38SPEAKER_01: So again, what do you value?
- 33:41SPEAKER_01: And if you filter every decision on your own values and you're saying yes to the new values, yes, there's gonna be a cost because you whenever you say yes to something, you're saying no to something else.
- 33:52SPEAKER_01: But are you going to place enough value that this is important to you and you're going to follow through and actually see what the effect is, what that result is when you act from that place?
- 34:07SPEAKER_01: And if you do feel like you're still in this mindset of like, I'm just in scarcity, I don't have enough money, and it's never enough, and X, Y, and Z totally resonating with you, sending some love, what about instead of saying, can I afford this or how am I gonna pay for this or something of those lines, how about you ask yourself, is this aligned with what I'm creating or what I value?
- 34:33SPEAKER_01: And can I responsibly make room for it?
- 34:38SPEAKER_01: And right now, just to give you a little astrology update, Venus is going into retrograde in October.
- 34:44SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be about a month.
- 34:46SPEAKER_01: Venus doesn't go retrograde very often.
- 34:48SPEAKER_01: And Venus is the planet of values, of what you value.
- 34:53SPEAKER_01: It is beauty, it is relationships, it is income, it is money, it is luxury, it's beauty.
- 34:59SPEAKER_01: So this is a time that you're going to be definitely redefining this part.
- 35:04SPEAKER_01: And depending on where Scorpio is in your chart, it's that area.
- 35:08SPEAKER_01: Uh, mine is actually the second house of money, of resources, of income.
- 35:12SPEAKER_01: So I will be going through this for sure.
- 35:15SPEAKER_01: Um, if you are curious about what that means for you and even just like understanding how to work through some of these values.
- 35:23SPEAKER_01: I just did this with a client this week about money.
- 35:25SPEAKER_01: So um me and Desi both have tools that we can share with you.
- 35:29SPEAKER_01: I do some tapping, we can tap through it.
- 35:31SPEAKER_01: Um, and Desi has an inner child stuff going on that can really support you on where these values and beliefs have come from and how can we work with them so that way we don't have to keep reliving them because we don't want to be in the same spot next year.
- 35:46SPEAKER_01: We want to actually improve, see progress, and feel a lot better.
- 35:52SPEAKER_01: You're muted.
- 35:56SPEAKER_00: Just kidding.
- 35:56SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 35:57SPEAKER_00: Um, there's a lot more that we can cover, and I'm feeling like maybe we need a part two to this because then I would love to like go more into like the manifest manifesting and things of that sort.
- 36:06SPEAKER_00: I think the biggest takeaway today is what are the money stories from childhood from your parents that are still playing out today?
- 36:14SPEAKER_00: And what can you start shifting, right?
- 36:17SPEAKER_00: So like I I know excuse my mom as an example, like she thinks everything is too expensive, she thinks everything's just a lot of money.
- 36:24SPEAKER_00: And like, you know, when I tell her, you know, certain things about, you know, things that I don't even tell her what I'm investing in myself anymore, she doesn't understand that.
- 36:31SPEAKER_00: But like her mindset is that I talk to my mom a lot, right?
- 36:35SPEAKER_00: Like we spend time together.
- 36:36SPEAKER_00: I talk to her pretty much every day.
- 36:38SPEAKER_00: And so when I hear this tape playing for her, right, I have to consciously give it back to her or transmute it for her or like let it just roll off my back because I don't want to take on those anymore.
- 36:50SPEAKER_00: And so, you know, really getting curious around that.
- 36:53SPEAKER_00: And some of the um, I want to just add this a little bit of the scarcity thoughts.
- 36:57SPEAKER_00: And so how we talk about money is really important.
- 37:00SPEAKER_00: And me and Jason are really working on this instead of saying, like, I can't afford that, or we can't afford that, or we don't have the money for that right now.
- 37:07SPEAKER_00: It's like, oh, I'm choosing not to spend my money on that right now.
- 37:10SPEAKER_00: The truth, right?
- 37:11SPEAKER_00: I'm choosing not to spend my money on X, Y, Z.
- 37:14SPEAKER_00: And another reframe could be how can I create the money for this?
- 37:17SPEAKER_00: How can I receive more?
- 37:19SPEAKER_00: And so we're definitely gonna do part two because there's a lot we can say about this.
- 37:23SPEAKER_00: Um, another one is like, I don't have enough, right?
- 37:25SPEAKER_00: There's not enough money.
- 37:26SPEAKER_00: I don't have enough money.
- 37:27SPEAKER_00: It's like I'm open to creating and receiving more.
- 37:30SPEAKER_00: I'm open to seeing how there can be enough, right?
- 37:32SPEAKER_00: And so, like Louis Lisa was saying it's like when you're spending money at the store, oh, thank you, thank you for this money.
- 37:38SPEAKER_00: Thank you for the being able to spend this, right?
- 37:40SPEAKER_00: That's really important too.
- 37:42SPEAKER_00: Um, another one is maybe when I make more money.
- 37:44SPEAKER_00: And I feel like this is I've been hearing this a lot from people.
- 37:47SPEAKER_00: It's like, oh, I don't have the money for it right now, but I do in the future.
- 37:50SPEAKER_00: And and you know, sometimes that could be true, but like, where are you spending your money like at Starbucks?
- 37:55SPEAKER_00: How often are you going out to eat?
- 37:57SPEAKER_00: Like, can you start making food at home?
- 38:00SPEAKER_00: Where can you maybe use turn off a couple of subscriptions to to do the thing that you desire, right?
- 38:05SPEAKER_00: And so, you know, the other the reframe for that is I don't have to wait for my life to begin.
- 38:10SPEAKER_00: I don't have to wait for more money, right?
- 38:12SPEAKER_00: I get to choose how I spend my money, how I spend my time.
- 38:16SPEAKER_00: Um, and then another one I think we can do is like, oh, I need to save more, I need to hold on more to more money.
- 38:21SPEAKER_00: And the reframe for that can be I trust myself to create, receive, and manage my money.
- 38:26SPEAKER_00: I trust that I am going to make the money back.
- 38:28SPEAKER_00: I trust that more money is gonna come in.
- 38:30SPEAKER_00: I trust that I'm gonna get a free battery because I think he was quoting me like$330 because of the type of car I had.
- 38:36SPEAKER_00: And I was like, I didn't freak out about it.
- 38:39SPEAKER_00: Like I I was so detached from the outcome today.
- 38:41SPEAKER_00: And it just really reminds me of like how much how important that is.
- 38:45SPEAKER_00: And then Jason calling me with the other abundance thing, and like we've been praying and we've been like thankful for all the things and everything.
- 38:51SPEAKER_00: And I was just like, Oh, yeah, okay.
- 38:53SPEAKER_00: Just a reminder, like this stuff works, right?
- 38:55SPEAKER_00: And so, yeah.
- 38:57SPEAKER_01: And you have a Taurus moon, so you need stability.
- 39:05SPEAKER_00: I would love to follow up this episode too, of like just more of the part and like the shifting the energy, and like there's a lot more we could say about money.
- 39:13SPEAKER_00: And the last thing I want to end with is like money is we made up money, yes.
- 39:17SPEAKER_00: Before people used to barter horses and you know, crops and things like that for for bartering, right?
- 39:24SPEAKER_00: And so, like the whole money system is like we literally made it up.
- 39:27SPEAKER_00: And so I would love to like explore that more as well.
- 39:30SPEAKER_01: Right, right, 100%.
- 39:31SPEAKER_01: And I think it it's what you put value into, like what do you value, you know?
- 39:37SPEAKER_01: And investing yourself doesn't actually mean, you know, investing doesn't even have to be uh investing can be actually interchangeably spending, right?
- 39:48SPEAKER_01: And you could you can say instead of you're spending your money on groceries, instead of your spending all money on bills, like another reframe would be I'm investing in my health with groceries, I'm investing in my electricity for this month, you know, my water, my clean water, you know, like starting to realize that your time, energy, healing, growth experiences, and future are absolutely just as valuable as this moment.
- 40:16SPEAKER_01: And everything that you choose in this moment creates your past and your future.
- 40:21SPEAKER_01: So just stick with that.
- 40:23SPEAKER_01: And we will be back with another with another episode.
- 40:26SPEAKER_01: And if you have any questions for us to riff on the next episode, please drop that in the DMs.
- 40:31SPEAKER_01: Maybe we'll do a poll or a question thing in our story so you can drop some questions for us.
- 40:36SPEAKER_01: We would love to answer them.
- 40:38SPEAKER_01: And yeah, we just can share so much more about like what we've manifested and how we've shifted things.
- 40:43SPEAKER_01: I love that Desi has been having some really cool stories too, because I'm like, we've been doing it, we've been doing the work, you know.
- 40:50SPEAKER_00: So there was a little bit of a dry spell for me for a little bit.
- 40:53SPEAKER_00: So it's nice to have to be reiterated that this stuff really works, especially when we decide it's gonna work and when we do the work.
