Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, so I'm in the highest mountain in every European country currently for Cry.
- 0:06SPEAKER_03: Because my best friend Xander.
- 0:08SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 0:08SPEAKER_03: Um, he actually nearly died from a critical heart condition that no one saw coming.
- 0:13SPEAKER_03: So what does Cry stand for?
- 0:15SPEAKER_03: Uh cardiac risk in the young.
- 0:24SPEAKER_01: Hello and welcome.
- 0:26SPEAKER_01: You're listening to Sakania, the Walk and Talk podcast, the show where we walk, we talk, and we let conversations flow without boundaries and see where we land.
- 0:37SPEAKER_01: I'm your host, Sakania, and today's walk is along the shore of Watswater to the pumphouse and back, expertly guided by my youngest guest to date, 10-year-old Frankie McMillan.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: Frankie is some guy.
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: He summited over a thousand peaks and started his adventures at the age of three with his mum Bastia, who runs Hills and Skills, a guided walking company in the area.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: He has climbed Scarfeld Pike three times, reached Everest Base Camp, climbed Ciro Chiripo in Costa Rica, and is now working on the highest peaks in every European country, including a trip to Finland's Mount Halty, which is what he was getting ready for during our recording and has since conquered.
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: I mean, what a guy.
- 1:35SPEAKER_01: He's also a coder on his school's first LEGO League robotics team, a goalkeeper in training, and a massive Manchester City supporter.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: And importantly, he's raising money for Cry, a cardiac risk in the young with his best friend Xander.
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: Frankie has prayer flags on his wall that say, just do what makes you happy.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: And he really is living it.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: This is season three, episode 16 of Sakania, the walk and talk podcast.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: I'm Sakania, and this is Frankie.
- 2:16SPEAKER_01: Enjoy!
- 2:32SPEAKER_04: Right, we're recording, Frankie.
- 2:35SPEAKER_04: How are you?
- 2:37SPEAKER_04: Good?
- 2:37SPEAKER_03: Good.
- 2:38SPEAKER_03: And what's your name?
- 2:40SPEAKER_03: I am Frankie MacMillan.
- 2:42SPEAKER_03: I am ten years old and I uh live in Gosforth, Cumbria.
- 2:46SPEAKER_03: I've never been to Gosforth.
- 2:48SPEAKER_03: What's Gosworth like?
- 2:49SPEAKER_03: Um, well, not exactly Gosworth, however, we just say that because it's just down the road.
- 2:56SPEAKER_04: Oh, I see, okay.
- 2:57SPEAKER_03: Uh but I go to school there, so okay.
- 2:59SPEAKER_03: What's your school like?
- 3:01SPEAKER_03: It's really good actually.
- 3:03SPEAKER_04: What what kind of stuff do you do?
- 3:04SPEAKER_04: Oh just down here.
- 3:05SPEAKER_04: Just down here?
- 3:07SPEAKER_03: So the daily routine is normally so we have a more set morning activity to do in the morning.
- 3:13SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 3:13SPEAKER_03: Then we go in for a a collective worship.
- 3:17SPEAKER_03: Oh okay.
- 3:18SPEAKER_03: Um then we have maths.
- 3:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 3:21SPEAKER_03: Then we have something called spag, which which stands for spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
- 3:26SPEAKER_03: Oh okay.
- 3:28SPEAKER_03: Then we have literacy, uh-huh, which is just English.
- 3:31SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 3:32SPEAKER_03: We have lunch break.
- 3:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 3:35SPEAKER_04: What's lunch like?
- 3:36SPEAKER_03: I haven't been to school for so long, I can't remember.
- 3:39SPEAKER_03: Uh well, it's probably changed.
- 3:44SPEAKER_03: Well, I mean, every Monday sadly there's pizza, I'm not a big fan of it.
- 3:47SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
- 3:48SPEAKER_03: Oh, you're not a fan of pizza?
- 3:50SPEAKER_03: No.
- 3:50SPEAKER_03: Why not?
- 3:51SPEAKER_03: I just can't handle melted cheese though.
- 3:54SPEAKER_04: Okay, yeah, that makes sense.
- 3:57SPEAKER_04: I mean, I I used to really like melted cheese, but I can't eat it anymore.
- 4:01SPEAKER_04: Like I like block cheese, but not when it's cold and hard.
- 4:07SPEAKER_04: Is that one of your dogs?
- 4:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 4:09SPEAKER_04: No.
- 4:10SPEAKER_04: What's this one called?
- 4:11SPEAKER_04: Uh tatty.
- 4:12SPEAKER_04: Tatty.
- 4:13SPEAKER_04: Tatty's beautiful.
- 4:15SPEAKER_04: We got it from a book.
- 4:17SPEAKER_04: Oh, did you?
- 4:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 4:18SPEAKER_04: Oh, tatty is beautiful.
- 4:21SPEAKER_04: After lunch, what do we do?
- 4:22SPEAKER_03: After lunch, we it's just different.
- 4:27SPEAKER_03: On Monday we have Oh, so is the morning the same every day?
- 4:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah, the morning's the same, but not the afternoon.
- 4:33SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 4:34SPEAKER_03: So Monday's normally science and PA, which is physical um education.
- 4:40SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 4:41SPEAKER_03: Then what does that mean?
- 4:42SPEAKER_03: What do they do?
- 4:43SPEAKER_03: Like netball and sports.
- 4:46SPEAKER_03: What's your favourite PE lesson?
- 4:49SPEAKER_03: I don't really know, because I mean if they had like a small climbing wall, yeah, then it definitely would be that, but Yeah.
- 4:57SPEAKER_04: Um, obviously, for obvious reasons, Frankie.
- 5:00SPEAKER_04: Well, this is beautiful, Frankie.
- 5:02SPEAKER_03: And then for things that we actually do at school.
- 5:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 5:06SPEAKER_03: Well Well, I I say golf is quite good.
- 5:11SPEAKER_03: Well, I mean, if you're not counting the facts, um someone accidentally hit me in the back of the head with a plastic golf club.
- 5:17SPEAKER_03: Oh no.
- 5:19SPEAKER_04: At least it was an accident.
- 5:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 5:22SPEAKER_04: Thank you.
- 5:24SPEAKER_04: This is a beautiful like what's water.
- 5:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 5:30SPEAKER_04: This is just beautiful.
- 5:31SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna catch a quick video.
- 5:32SPEAKER_04: Okay, so we got two physical exercise.
- 5:35SPEAKER_03: Uh then on Tuesday we have I honestly don't even remember.
- 5:42SPEAKER_03: You only do it every week.
- 5:45SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 5:46SPEAKER_04: Do you do like history and geography and stuff?
- 5:49SPEAKER_03: Uh yes.
- 5:49SPEAKER_03: That both of them are on a Friday.
- 5:52SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 5:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 5:54SPEAKER_03: And I'm trying to think of other subjects.
- 5:56SPEAKER_03: On Tuesday we have Ari, which is religious education.
- 6:00SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 6:02SPEAKER_03: And then what's Wednesday looking like?
- 6:05SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 6:05SPEAKER_03: Wednesday is.
- 6:08SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 6:09SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 6:10SPEAKER_03: It's okay.
- 6:11SPEAKER_04: It happens.
- 6:12SPEAKER_04: We have.
- 6:13SPEAKER_04: It's just gone out here, heads.
- 6:15SPEAKER_04: I'll see if it comes back to me.
- 6:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:17SPEAKER_03: Then on Thursday we have another uh PA.
- 6:20SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 6:21SPEAKER_03: And Yeah.
- 6:26SPEAKER_04: That's cool.
- 6:27SPEAKER_04: I mean, you have to do it every week anyway, so you'll remember when you get there.
- 6:32SPEAKER_03: And then on Friday we have history and geography.
- 6:36SPEAKER_03: What is your best day?
- 6:39SPEAKER_03: Honestly, I don't really know.
- 6:40SPEAKER_03: I mean I really like Thurs I mean Wednesdays because I have a club called Lego League.
- 6:48SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 6:48SPEAKER_03: So it's not off to school then.
- 6:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's not as it's different to what you imagine.
- 6:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 6:55SPEAKER_03: It's just like it's not building Lego sets, it's like a big competition that you design robots and make them do activities on this mission board.
- 7:06SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 7:07SPEAKER_04: And do you have to compete like have a battle or something?
- 7:10SPEAKER_03: No, well, yes but no.
- 7:12SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 7:13SPEAKER_03: Next door to someone else who's also doing it.
- 7:16SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 7:16SPEAKER_03: I don't really honestly know how it goes.
- 7:18SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 7:19SPEAKER_03: Because I've never done it before.
- 7:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 7:21SPEAKER_03: But I think it's just like money.
- 7:24SPEAKER_03: You go next to someone else, then you got to like compete for who does the gets the most points.
- 7:32SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 7:32SPEAKER_03: And there's these areas that you're allowed to pick up the robot and change like the attachments and things so that you can do the different challenges.
- 7:42SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 7:42SPEAKER_03: And how long do you have to build one?
- 7:46SPEAKER_03: Well, well probably like half a year, I think.
- 7:50SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 7:50SPEAKER_03: The competition's actually on Tuesday.
- 7:52SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 7:53SPEAKER_03: This Tuesday?
- 7:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 7:54SPEAKER_03: Oh my god.
- 7:55SPEAKER_03: And is it ready?
- 7:57SPEAKER_03: Well, we know that we're only going up against three other people.
- 8:01SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 8:02SPEAKER_03: If we make it through this and get first place, then we get to go to Nationals, which is all over England.
- 8:09SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 8:10SPEAKER_03: And then if we get first in that, which the school got second in last year, then we get to go to um a random country anywhere in the world, internationals.
- 8:21SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 8:22SPEAKER_03: Last year or this year, I think.
- 8:24SPEAKER_03: It's in it it was or is in Hawaii.
- 8:28SPEAKER_04: Oh my goodness.
- 8:29SPEAKER_04: That's so cool.
- 8:30SPEAKER_04: Do we know where this year or next year might be this year?
- 8:34SPEAKER_03: This year?
- 8:35SPEAKER_03: It's either Hawaii or something else, maybe I'm thinking about last year.
- 8:39SPEAKER_03: Okay, yeah.
- 8:40SPEAKER_04: That's very cool.
- 8:42SPEAKER_04: So Tuesday's a big day.
- 8:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 8:44SPEAKER_04: Wednesday.
- 8:45SPEAKER_04: Wednesday.
- 8:46SPEAKER_04: And is it a team?
- 8:47SPEAKER_04: Do you have a team?
- 8:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 8:49SPEAKER_03: We have a team.
- 8:50SPEAKER_04: How many people are in your team?
- 8:52SPEAKER_03: We have ten now.
- 8:53SPEAKER_03: Oh wow.
- 8:53SPEAKER_03: We have nine, but like halfway through we recruited someone else.
- 8:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 8:59SPEAKER_04: That's quite a big team.
- 9:00SPEAKER_04: So how do you split everyone up?
- 9:02SPEAKER_04: What does everyone do?
- 9:03SPEAKER_03: So you get like specific jobs and things.
- 9:06SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 9:08SPEAKER_04: And so what was your job?
- 9:09SPEAKER_04: I'm like a coder to like commend the robot.
- 9:14SPEAKER_04: Fancy Frankie.
- 9:17SPEAKER_04: And so how do you write the code?
- 9:19SPEAKER_03: So it's like it's like how do I explain it?
- 9:24SPEAKER_03: It's like these blocks that you got to like put together.
- 9:28SPEAKER_04: And then do you type anything into a computer?
- 9:31SPEAKER_03: No, it's just like putting these blocks together and like different arrangements will do different things.
- 9:37SPEAKER_03: Okay, mm-hmm.
- 9:38SPEAKER_03: That's very cool.
- 9:40SPEAKER_03: That's quite an important job, isn't it?
- 9:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah, there's also like researchers who search for facts because this year's theme is archaeology.
- 9:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 9:49SPEAKER_03: And like what problems do they face?
- 9:51SPEAKER_03: Our skills problem is underwater archaeology, I believe.
- 9:55SPEAKER_03: Oh okay.
- 9:56SPEAKER_03: Something like that.
- 9:58SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 9:59SPEAKER_04: That's cool.
- 10:00SPEAKER_04: And so what have we found out about that?
- 10:02SPEAKER_04: Do you know?
- 10:03SPEAKER_04: Do you like share the research?
- 10:04SPEAKER_03: Well, some of the pro one of the problems is called osmotic shock.
- 10:08SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 10:09SPEAKER_03: So it's like when artifacts uh come out of the water, they dry out and crumble.
- 10:16SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 10:16SPEAKER_03: Just this way.
- 10:17SPEAKER_03: Okay, thank you.
- 10:18SPEAKER_03: Because I'll wavel the seed straight into the lake.
- 10:21SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 10:22SPEAKER_04: We don't want that today.
- 10:23SPEAKER_04: Uh yeah, so Do you go swimming in this lake?
- 10:26SPEAKER_03: Uh we go pedal boards.
- 10:29SPEAKER_04: Go on, sorry.
- 10:30SPEAKER_03: Uh so osmotic shock is yeah, when artifacts like d come out of the water and dry out.
- 10:36SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 10:37SPEAKER_03: And our solution to that is like keep it preserved into like seawater to keep it together.
- 10:47SPEAKER_03: Then what do you do when it's preserved?
- 10:50SPEAKER_03: We haven't really thought about that yet, I don't think.
- 10:52SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 10:53SPEAKER_03: I think you probably something to do with like different types of archaeologists will probably like examinate it and things.
- 11:01SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 11:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and then it's and then it might go to a museum or something.
- 11:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 11:07SPEAKER_03: Oh that sounds amazing.
- 11:08SPEAKER_03: I don't know if they'll they like both work this way is that way, but Okay.
- 11:13SPEAKER_04: That's pretty cool to do that at school and kind of contribute to research.
- 11:19SPEAKER_03: It's a bit confusing because on Wednesdays we actually have our practice for it, but on Tuesday is actually the competition.
- 11:28SPEAKER_04: Oh I see, so you're going a day ahead.
- 11:30SPEAKER_04: Uh-huh.
- 11:31SPEAKER_04: Goodness me.
- 11:33SPEAKER_04: So are you gonna have like a emergency practice on Monday?
- 11:37SPEAKER_03: I think throughout just these uh last few days we're gonna be like practising on the script and all.
- 11:45SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 11:45SPEAKER_03: Making sure we know our lines, because after we have to do like a five-minute talk to judges who can like you can also earn extra points by like me wishing other teams good luck and all.
- 12:00SPEAKER_03: Oh so hopefully we're gonna get that.
- 12:03SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 12:03SPEAKER_04: And are you allowed to share what your lines are?
- 12:06SPEAKER_03: Can you remember them?
- 12:07SPEAKER_03: Uh well I only actually know one for now.
- 12:10SPEAKER_03: Okay, because we've not really had any time to practice.
- 12:13SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 12:14SPEAKER_03: Um Do you want to share it?
- 12:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 12:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah, go on.
- 12:17SPEAKER_03: Three, two, one.
- 12:20SPEAKER_03: Excavation.
- 12:21SPEAKER_03: Carefully excavate using tools such as treasures and airlifts.
- 12:26SPEAKER_03: Airlifts to protect fragile material.
- 12:29SPEAKER_04: Amazing, well done.
- 12:31SPEAKER_04: That's awesome.
- 12:32SPEAKER_04: Do you know which order you're going to be in when you say your line?
- 12:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we know the order and all.
- 12:37SPEAKER_03: Okay, which one are you?
- 12:39SPEAKER_03: Um well you have like loads of different lines scattered about.
- 12:44SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 12:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 12:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 12:47SPEAKER_04: So it's it's just where the placement is.
- 12:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 12:50SPEAKER_04: Cool.
- 12:51SPEAKER_04: And so when do you find time for being outdoors with because all of that sounds so busy.
- 12:57SPEAKER_04: We do it on we normally weekends and terms.
- 13:01SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay, half terms and things.
- 13:03SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 13:03SPEAKER_04: So when you first went for your first walk or first big climb, how old were you?
- 13:08SPEAKER_03: Well depends what you mean by big climb, because my first mountain was like 300 metres, something like roughly that.
- 13:17SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 13:18SPEAKER_04: Oh crakey, I thought I thought Tatty was gonna He's a clumsy one.
- 13:25SPEAKER_04: Get a bit injured against that tree.
- 13:28SPEAKER_04: That was quite fast.
- 13:30SPEAKER_04: So how old were you then?
- 13:31SPEAKER_04: I was three.
- 13:33SPEAKER_04: Okay, do you remember it?
- 13:35SPEAKER_04: Because it was quite a long time ago now.
- 13:37SPEAKER_03: Well, I remember me saying in my little kid voice, Mummy, we really high.
- 13:45SPEAKER_04: Oh, that's so cute.
- 13:48SPEAKER_04: The the pictures and videos of you when you were three, like walking, look so cute.
- 13:53SPEAKER_04: Your legs are so tiny and your feet look so tiny and your steps are so tiny.
- 14:00SPEAKER_04: And so how old are you now?
- 14:02SPEAKER_03: Now I am ten, just ten double digits.
- 14:06SPEAKER_03: How does that feel?
- 14:08SPEAKER_03: It feels quite good actually.
- 14:10SPEAKER_03: I mean it feels okay, I guess, because it just accept it means like it's less and less mountains with my mum.
- 14:18SPEAKER_04: Oh, as in you're more independent.
- 14:21SPEAKER_04: So you can do it by yourself or do you do it with other people?
- 14:25SPEAKER_03: Well, we have a little company called Hills and Skills.
- 14:29SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 14:30SPEAKER_03: Uh, where we have guided walks.
- 14:32SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay, amazing.
- 14:34SPEAKER_04: I didn't know that.
- 14:35SPEAKER_04: That's really cool.
- 14:36SPEAKER_04: Although your email address is Hills and Skills, so it should have it should have been a clue.
- 14:41SPEAKER_04: Does your mum do that?
- 14:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I also come.
- 14:43SPEAKER_03: Oh, you lots of time.
- 14:45SPEAKER_04: Being 10 years old, what did you think was going to be different when you turned 10?
- 14:50SPEAKER_04: Did you think anything would be different?
- 14:52SPEAKER_03: Yes, but no.
- 14:53SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 14:54SPEAKER_03: Like, I knew the age would be different.
- 14:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah, the number would be different.
- 14:59SPEAKER_04: Let me get a picture of you.
- 15:00SPEAKER_03: Double digits for life.
- 15:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah, the number would be different, but generally not really.
- 15:05SPEAKER_03: Double digits maybe only a few triple digits if I'm lucky.
- 15:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah, absolutely.
- 15:12SPEAKER_04: Let's hope for triple digits, but you've got a long way to get before that.
- 15:16SPEAKER_04: And you've already done so much in ten.
- 15:19SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 15:19SPEAKER_04: It's amazing.
- 15:21SPEAKER_03: Does that make you feel proud?
- 15:23SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah, now I'm estimating about I've climbed like 1,000 mountains or so.
- 15:28SPEAKER_03: Um till what age?
- 15:30SPEAKER_03: From three to ten.
- 15:31SPEAKER_04: Oh, from three to ten, you think you've done a thousand?
- 15:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I goodness me, frankly, I think I've done like five.
- 15:40SPEAKER_04: That's amazing.
- 15:42SPEAKER_04: I think also when you like you obviously find it so natural, don't you?
- 15:48SPEAKER_04: Do you feel like you're at home when you're walking up mountains?
- 15:51SPEAKER_03: Yes, because we live like only 20 minutes away from the highest mountain in England.
- 15:56SPEAKER_03: And what is that called?
- 15:58SPEAKER_03: Scarfell Pike.
- 15:59SPEAKER_04: Um do we know how t how tall that is?
- 16:01SPEAKER_03: Or how like the remiss that is 999 metres high, but oh okay.
- 16:07SPEAKER_03: I think we need to I think it's like 981 metres high.
- 16:12SPEAKER_03: Okay, and how many times have you done that?
- 16:14SPEAKER_03: I've done it three times.
- 16:16SPEAKER_03: First one was when I was four.
- 16:18SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 16:19SPEAKER_04: First time when you were four?
- 16:21SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 16:21SPEAKER_04: Wow, that's incredible.
- 16:23SPEAKER_04: So when we spoke in I think it was December, wasn't it, on Zoom.
- 16:30SPEAKER_04: And you had been to Everest Base Camp and then you were going to Costa Rica and then you were turning 10.
- 16:36SPEAKER_04: How was Costa Rica?
- 16:38SPEAKER_04: It was actually really good.
- 16:39SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 16:40SPEAKER_04: What was the best bit?
- 16:41SPEAKER_04: Give me your top three highlights.
- 16:43SPEAKER_03: Well, the first part of it was when we were volunteering at a nature and we saw turtles hatching.
- 16:50SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 16:51SPEAKER_04: That looked amazing.
- 16:52SPEAKER_03: And then we were releasing them to the wild.
- 16:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 16:55SPEAKER_04: That looked really cool.
- 16:57SPEAKER_03: One day there was, I think, like 300 and only six nests or something.
- 17:02SPEAKER_03: What?
- 17:03unknown: Yeah.
- 17:04SPEAKER_03: And how big are these eggs?
- 17:07SPEAKER_03: I don't know the size of the eggs, but Okay.
- 17:09SPEAKER_03: The turtles they weigh around normally 18 grams, I think.
- 17:13SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 17:14SPEAKER_03: Oh.
- 17:15SPEAKER_03: Something like that?
- 17:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 17:16SPEAKER_03: And then only a few centimetres like that by that.
- 17:21SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 17:22SPEAKER_03: Measuring the shell.
- 17:23SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 17:24SPEAKER_04: Which we normally do.
- 17:25SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 17:26SPEAKER_04: Is that the the procedure?
- 17:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 17:28SPEAKER_04: So when they're hatched, you measure them and then you release them?
- 17:32SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah, we weigh them and measure them.
- 17:34SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 17:34SPEAKER_03: And then we like leave them for like one day in the hall.
- 17:39SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 17:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 17:40SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and then we take them out to the wild.
- 17:42SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 17:43SPEAKER_03: I'll tell you one thing that I did not enjoy.
- 17:45SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 17:46SPEAKER_03: Cockroaches everywhere.
- 17:47SPEAKER_03: Oh no.
- 17:48SPEAKER_03: In the toilet.
- 17:49SPEAKER_04: You can hear them, can't you?
- 17:50SPEAKER_04: You can hear them kind of clicking.
- 17:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 17:53SPEAKER_03: I hate them.
- 17:54SPEAKER_04: I agree.
- 17:55SPEAKER_03: Oh my gosh.
- 17:56SPEAKER_03: I hate them.
- 17:56SPEAKER_03: They were all over the toilet.
- 17:57SPEAKER_03: Apparently.
- 17:58SPEAKER_03: Once my mum was on a kitchen shift, um, she had to empty everything out onto into a big composter.
- 18:07SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 18:08SPEAKER_03: Apparently there were hundreds on the screamed.
- 18:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I would have screamed.
- 18:14SPEAKER_04: Uh I came back once from Sri Lanka from a holiday and there was one in my suitcase.
- 18:21SPEAKER_04: I couldn't believe it.
- 18:22SPEAKER_04: Honestly, it was gross.
- 18:23SPEAKER_04: Luckily, it was dead.
- 18:24SPEAKER_04: Oh good.
- 18:25SPEAKER_03: Otherwise, uh cockroaches could have been re populated to England.
- 18:30SPEAKER_04: I don't know how it got in my bag.
- 18:32SPEAKER_03: Honestly, I don't think it would have been able to survive that high in the air.
- 18:36SPEAKER_04: No, actually the coldness, I guess.
- 18:38SPEAKER_03: Actually, I suppose that you were probably in a plane, you weren't flying.
- 18:43SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 18:44SPEAKER_04: No, I wasn't.
- 18:45SPEAKER_04: We weren't actually flying.
- 18:47SPEAKER_03: Well, if you're in a plane, not with you.
- 18:49SPEAKER_04: Yeah, not with my clapping my arms.
- 18:52SPEAKER_04: I don't think I'd have lasted very long, do you?
- 18:55SPEAKER_03: Not really.
- 18:56SPEAKER_04: No.
- 18:56SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 18:57SPEAKER_03: I mean, like, I can do like in my old swimming pool that I used to go to.
- 19:03SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 19:04SPEAKER_03: I could do like there and one time back without having a breath.
- 19:08SPEAKER_03: Oh really?
- 19:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 19:11SPEAKER_04: Goodness me.
- 19:12SPEAKER_04: That's pretty good going.
- 19:14SPEAKER_04: That's a nice picture.
- 19:14SPEAKER_04: Let me grab that picture.
- 19:16SPEAKER_04: Oh, that's lovely, Frankie.
- 19:17SPEAKER_04: Should we get selfie?
- 19:18SPEAKER_04: My hair's so annoying.
- 19:20SPEAKER_04: It's getting longer.
- 19:21SPEAKER_04: Oh, I'm doing a video, Frankie.
- 19:23SPEAKER_04: Oh no.
- 19:24SPEAKER_04: Hang on, let me change that to a photo.
- 19:27SPEAKER_03: Yesterday, actually, on Friday, we always have this like little like type award ceremony.
- 19:33SPEAKER_03: That one person in every class gets this thing called Star of the Week.
- 19:37SPEAKER_03: Oh, cool.
- 19:38SPEAKER_03: And then we pass it on every week.
- 19:39SPEAKER_03: Cool.
- 19:40SPEAKER_03: And this week I actually got it.
- 19:41SPEAKER_03: Did you?
- 19:42SPEAKER_03: Apparently, approaching my assessments with confidence and determination.
- 19:48SPEAKER_03: That's amazing.
- 19:48SPEAKER_03: Well done, Frankie.
- 19:50SPEAKER_04: How does it make you feel when you get your awards?
- 19:53SPEAKER_04: Well, I mean it feels really good.
- 19:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 19:55SPEAKER_04: Shows that you someone notices you working hard.
- 19:58SPEAKER_04: That's amazing.
- 19:59SPEAKER_04: I love that for you.
- 20:00SPEAKER_04: So we were talking about the mountains and you were three years old, four years old, sorry, and you did Scarfell Pike.
- 20:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah, three years old do my first mountain.
- 20:12SPEAKER_04: Three years old do your first mountain.
- 20:14SPEAKER_04: So where did it go from there?
- 20:16SPEAKER_03: Well from there it just went to like bigger mountains?
- 20:20SPEAKER_03: My mum had no idea that it would really continue into this.
- 20:24SPEAKER_03: She thought that I went wouldn't even make it all the way up to the first mountain on my own, so she wasn't planning on carrying me or anything.
- 20:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 20:33SPEAKER_03: And of all of the mountains that I've done, I've never actually been carried.
- 20:38SPEAKER_03: You haven't?
- 20:38SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 20:39SPEAKER_04: You've used your own legs.
- 20:41SPEAKER_04: Even your tiny four-year-old legs.
- 20:44SPEAKER_04: That's awesome.
- 20:45SPEAKER_04: So you've got plans, big plans, haven't you?
- 20:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 20:49SPEAKER_04: So there's you've already done quite a few of the peaks in have you done all the peaks in the UK?
- 20:56SPEAKER_04: Uh yeah, highest peaks.
- 20:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 20:58SPEAKER_04: And then your plan is to do all the peaks in Europe.
- 21:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 21:03SPEAKER_03: Well, there's a rule, like, not like every single highest peak, there's a rule.
- 21:08SPEAKER_03: That you it's got to be tall than Scarfell Pike for us.
- 21:12SPEAKER_03: You can't just be able to drive up it.
- 21:15SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 21:16SPEAKER_03: And also it can't be bordering with another country.
- 21:19SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 21:20SPEAKER_04: Because like then it's like half half.
- 21:22SPEAKER_04: Oh, I see, okay.
- 21:23SPEAKER_04: Obviously we've been through winter, so you haven't done it through winter.
- 21:27SPEAKER_04: Were you waiting for the summer holidays?
- 21:29SPEAKER_03: Spring holidays, we're waiting for that now.
- 21:32SPEAKER_03: Okay, so Easter.
- 21:34SPEAKER_03: Well, on the little mid Christmas between Easter um holiday, we were in Costa Rica.
- 21:42SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 21:43SPEAKER_03: What was it like going up the mountain in Costa Rica?
- 21:46SPEAKER_03: What was it called?
- 21:47SPEAKER_03: It was called Cerro Tripo.
- 21:49SPEAKER_03: It was around 2,800 meters high.
- 21:53SPEAKER_03: Goodness me.
- 21:54SPEAKER_03: And how was it doing it?
- 21:55SPEAKER_04: I mean, it wasn't my favourite mountain, but it was still quite good.
- 21:59SPEAKER_04: What was What was it that didn't make it your favourite?
- 22:03SPEAKER_04: Food.
- 22:03SPEAKER_04: Food?
- 22:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 22:05SPEAKER_03: What was up with the food?
- 22:07SPEAKER_03: Well, I mean they didn't have any like chicken nuggets or anything.
- 22:10SPEAKER_03: Oh, is that what you normally take up your mouth?
- 22:14SPEAKER_03: And pasta.
- 22:15SPEAKER_03: I mean they have beans, rice, oh yeah.
- 22:18SPEAKER_03: And also melted cheese.
- 22:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 22:21SPEAKER_03: Was it melted cheese for taking up the mountain?
- 22:23SPEAKER_03: I don't honestly know.
- 22:25SPEAKER_04: No.
- 22:26SPEAKER_04: Well, what do you mean by that?
- 22:28SPEAKER_04: As in you said melted cheese, but so we were talking about going up the mountain and you said the worst part of it was the food.
- 22:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 22:36SPEAKER_04: Did you mean the worst part of Costa Rica for you?
- 22:39SPEAKER_04: Or your least favourite, not worst part.
- 22:41SPEAKER_04: Your least favourite about Costa Rica was the food.
- 22:44SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 22:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah, okay.
- 22:46SPEAKER_04: So what do you take up for food for the mountain?
- 22:49SPEAKER_03: Well we didn't take anything, we stayed in this little like hut.
- 22:53SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 22:54SPEAKER_03: Um so one day we were just going up a bit and we saw a dead tarantula.
- 22:59SPEAKER_03: Did you?
- 22:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah, which was really cool because we don't have anything like that down in England.
- 23:04SPEAKER_03: And also on the second day, which was the summit day, we saw Puma poo.
- 23:11SPEAKER_03: Did you?
- 23:12SPEAKER_03: What does that look like?
- 23:14SPEAKER_03: How do you know?
- 23:15SPEAKER_03: Well, I mean it wasn't us knowing it was the uh guide telling us.
- 23:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 23:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it was because we don't really have any pumas down here, do we?
- 23:24SPEAKER_03: No, we don't.
- 23:25SPEAKER_04: So you didn't see any while you were hiking?
- 23:28SPEAKER_04: No.
- 23:28SPEAKER_04: No, that's lucky.
- 23:30SPEAKER_04: I think I'd have run away.
- 23:31SPEAKER_04: But you're not supposed to run, are you, when you see scary animals?
- 23:35SPEAKER_03: No, you're not.
- 23:36SPEAKER_03: No.
- 23:37SPEAKER_03: You're just meant to like bears, you're meant to stop, walk backwards very slowly.
- 23:43SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 23:43SPEAKER_03: It doesn't matter if you make it to the top, your life is more important than that.
- 23:48SPEAKER_04: Yes, exactly.
- 23:49SPEAKER_04: Good message, Frankie.
- 23:50SPEAKER_04: What would you say to someone who's my age and feeling a bit scared about going up mountains?
- 23:58SPEAKER_03: Well, I mean like it doesn't always matter if you make it to the top or not.
- 24:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 24:04SPEAKER_03: It just matters if you have a good time.
- 24:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 24:07SPEAKER_03: I mean, if it's really bad weather conditions, don't go because it's better than dying.
- 24:14SPEAKER_03: Don't put your life uh on the line.
- 24:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 24:18SPEAKER_03: Oh no, cows.
- 24:20SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
- 24:21SPEAKER_04: I hate cows as well, actually.
- 24:23SPEAKER_03: Looks like these people pass because they've got their dog and allies.
- 24:26SPEAKER_03: Oh, you're coming in here?
- 24:27SPEAKER_03: No, we go, no.
- 24:28SPEAKER_03: Oh, we can't say hello.
- 24:31SPEAKER_03: And what would you say to someone who's about your age?
- 24:34SPEAKER_03: Just do what makes you happy.
- 24:35SPEAKER_03: I have a big sign of pl prey of flags on my wall saying just do what makes you happy.
- 24:42SPEAKER_03: So I love that.
- 24:42SPEAKER_03: And so what makes you happy, Frankie?
- 24:45SPEAKER_03: Well like climbing mountains, like it makes me amazingly happy when I'm like at the top.
- 24:52SPEAKER_03: It's like, oh my goodness, I've actually just done that.
- 24:55SPEAKER_03: Even if it's not a big one, it still makes me feel astonished.
- 24:58SPEAKER_03: Does it?
- 24:59SPEAKER_03: Is it the views that you love?
- 25:01SPEAKER_03: Partially.
- 25:02SPEAKER_03: I also really like the scrambles.
- 25:04SPEAKER_04: Oh do you?
- 25:05SPEAKER_04: So what's the next big one?
- 25:09SPEAKER_04: Tatty! Tatty doesn't care about gates.
- 25:13SPEAKER_04: I think I could honestly do that.
- 25:15SPEAKER_04: Go on then.
- 25:19SPEAKER_04: Oh you can.
- 25:20SPEAKER_04: Easy.
- 25:22SPEAKER_04: I'm not even gonna try.
- 25:24SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna do the gateway.
- 25:29SPEAKER_04: Oh, this is so pretty.
- 25:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's really nice.
- 25:33SPEAKER_04: I love the way like when you do these walks, it just opens up and it's just you see the screes there.
- 25:40SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 25:40SPEAKER_03: Well, I mean you can go there, however, it's highly dangerous.
- 25:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it looks like you would slip a lot.
- 25:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's very slippery and there's like always call-outs there for mountain rescue.
- 25:52SPEAKER_03: And we know this because my mum's actually in mountain rescue round here.
- 25:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah, your mum is, isn't she?
- 25:57SPEAKER_03: So And there's no so there's one big rock on top of it.
- 26:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah and you we're just like we're not going until that falls.
- 26:05SPEAKER_03: Oh.
- 26:06SPEAKER_03: Because what if you go under it and it just falls on you?
- 26:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I find this kind of stuff quite scary, especially when it's on a slope.
- 26:12SPEAKER_04: I mean, generally, frankly, I'm a really big wimp.
- 26:16SPEAKER_04: So when I go for a walk up a hill, I go with my friends and I'm always at the back because I breathe quite heavily.
- 26:25SPEAKER_03: You should just not breathe heavily, you should go like that's what you shouldn't do.
- 26:30SPEAKER_03: You should go, whenever you're uh doing anything, just tell me and I'll hold your glove.
- 26:35SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 26:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so have you been on the squeeze?
- 26:37SPEAKER_03: Uh no.
- 26:38SPEAKER_03: No.
- 26:39SPEAKER_03: But I mean we've been like there and all.
- 26:41SPEAKER_03: Oh, you have?
- 26:42SPEAKER_03: Above there.
- 26:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 26:43SPEAKER_03: But genuinely not on the squeeze.
- 26:45SPEAKER_03: No.
- 26:46SPEAKER_03: That's just way too high risk.
- 26:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I I wouldn't um honestly I wouldn't fancy that.
- 26:52SPEAKER_04: I only like walking when it's weather like this and it's dry underfoot and there's a bit of sunshine.
- 26:59SPEAKER_04: I mean I have done walks in the rain, but it's one of those walks where you know you're already there, so you have no choice.
- 27:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 27:07SPEAKER_04: So you might as well enjoy it.
- 27:09SPEAKER_04: How do you train for your walks?
- 27:11SPEAKER_03: Do you do training?
- 27:12SPEAKER_03: Well, yes, but no, I mean we do we just climb any all year round, but also once I have got a winter skills train with like ice axes and crampons and all gosh, is that fun and exciting?
- 27:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 27:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah?
- 27:31SPEAKER_04: What's the real nice?
- 27:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it sounds terrifying to me.
- 27:35SPEAKER_04: I would hate it.
- 27:36SPEAKER_04: But then but then I have never tried.
- 27:39SPEAKER_03: Oh, people are going on the screes.
- 27:41SPEAKER_03: My people are on the screes.
- 27:48SPEAKER_04: Where have you seen them?
- 27:49SPEAKER_04: I can't tell.
- 27:52SPEAKER_04: That is a path though.
- 27:54SPEAKER_03: Yes, but it's gonna go Yeah.
- 27:57SPEAKER_04: It's in case there's a landslide, isn't it?
- 28:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 28:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 28:01SPEAKER_04: So what kind of train?
- 28:02SPEAKER_04: So you did the campons and stuff, how was that?
- 28:04SPEAKER_03: Mm-hmm.
- 28:05SPEAKER_03: It was actually genuinely really exciting.
- 28:09SPEAKER_03: What did you do?
- 28:10SPEAKER_03: Did you go with someone?
- 28:11SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah, we went with the guide.
- 28:13SPEAKER_03: Um we were doing like ice axes arrests and things.
- 28:17SPEAKER_03: And um I actually I was told that I could show it to the older people that were here on a Winter Skills course as well.
- 28:25SPEAKER_03: Really?
- 28:25SPEAKER_03: Did you show them an ice axe arrest?
- 28:29SPEAKER_03: What does that mean?
- 28:30SPEAKER_03: So like you're sliding on the snow with your ice axe in your hand like that, then you quickly turn over and dig it in.
- 28:37SPEAKER_04: So that you stop sliding.
- 28:39SPEAKER_04: So you're anchored in.
- 28:41SPEAKER_04: How many times did you do that?
- 28:43SPEAKER_03: Oh, I don't even know.
- 28:45SPEAKER_03: I mean I was making a ramp to go over.
- 28:48SPEAKER_04: Hoping that I would You were making a little um what do we call them?
- 28:54SPEAKER_04: Tunnel.
- 28:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's kind of a a slopey thing.
- 28:58SPEAKER_04: You're kind of going upwards, aren't you?
- 28:59SPEAKER_04: I can't remember what the word is now.
- 29:01SPEAKER_04: They all come to us.
- 29:02SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna get a picture here.
- 29:03SPEAKER_04: It's sloping.
- 29:04SPEAKER_04: A rampy.
- 29:04SPEAKER_04: A ramp, that's the word.
- 29:06SPEAKER_04: Well done.
- 29:07SPEAKER_04: That is magnificent.
- 29:09SPEAKER_03: You see that big mountain there that looks like a bit of a dinosaur back.
- 29:12SPEAKER_03: That's my favourite one.
- 29:14SPEAKER_04: That's a really great way to explain it.
- 29:16SPEAKER_04: It does look like a dinosaur back.
- 29:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 29:18SPEAKER_04: It always baffles me, Frankie, when people point at mountains and tell me what the name is, because to me they sort of it's called Ubarrow.
- 29:27SPEAKER_04: I love that you said dinosaur back because I will remember that.
- 29:30SPEAKER_04: So is this the pump house?
- 29:32SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 29:32SPEAKER_04: Well, should we walk around just over there and see what the views like?
- 29:35SPEAKER_03: Yes, I think we can do that.
- 29:37SPEAKER_04: And then we can head back then.
- 29:39SPEAKER_03: I think we're allowed to do this, I don't know.
- 29:41SPEAKER_04: It looks like you can walk here.
- 29:42SPEAKER_03: Sheepies.
- 29:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 29:44SPEAKER_03: There's a lot of sheep when I was driving.
- 29:46SPEAKER_03: Well, they've got the dog on the leaf, catty, because the sheep.
- 29:49SPEAKER_04: We were talking about, oh yes, you're sliding down the mountain in snow with your ice pick, and then you stop yourself.
- 29:56SPEAKER_04: And then what other exercises did they teach you?
- 29:59SPEAKER_03: Well, we weren't doing like proper ice climbing because I didn't have two ice axes, I just have one.
- 30:05SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 30:05SPEAKER_03: Do people.
- 30:06SPEAKER_03: However, my mum went did uh me one of hers.
- 30:09SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 30:10SPEAKER_03: So I could do a tiny bit of ice climbing.
- 30:13SPEAKER_03: I I didn't need a rope or anything, it was just like that big.
- 30:16unknown: Okay.
- 30:17SPEAKER_03: If I felt that would be fine.
- 30:18SPEAKER_04: And so is it like training you for any bad things that could happen?
- 30:24SPEAKER_03: Well, yes.
- 30:25SPEAKER_03: Definitely.
- 30:26SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 30:27SPEAKER_04: And so do you feel confident after doing that that if you went up a mountain with ice and snow you'd know what to do?
- 30:34SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
- 30:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 30:35SPEAKER_03: Definitely.
- 30:36SPEAKER_03: And I also know that you shouldn't like tip also, don't like smash it in like a like you're pickaxing it.
- 30:43SPEAKER_03: Oh okay.
- 30:44SPEAKER_03: Uh you should just like shove it in with your shoulder.
- 30:46SPEAKER_03: Oh okay.
- 30:47SPEAKER_03: And what does that do?
- 30:48SPEAKER_03: Push it in with your shoulder rather than like Because like if it hits something, then it might bounce out.
- 30:55SPEAKER_04: Yes, then that would be.
- 30:56SPEAKER_03: And then also on the different podcasts that I did, a person said that by experience saying that you should dig it in by the by your shoulder because apparently someone fell off like really high.
- 31:08SPEAKER_03: And they were trying to dig it in, right?
- 31:11SPEAKER_03: But then it wasn't working.
- 31:13SPEAKER_03: Oh I see.
- 31:14SPEAKER_03: So they fell.
- 31:15SPEAKER_03: Oh gosh.
- 31:16SPEAKER_03: I mean they didn't die, but I mean I think they broke a few bones.
- 31:19SPEAKER_03: Oh god.
- 31:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we don't really I mean we try not to attract Let's not talk about it.
- 31:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we try not to attract that.
- 31:27SPEAKER_04: So if there's anything you could say to your mum about all the support she gives you, what would you say?
- 31:37SPEAKER_03: I would just say like thank you so much for all the support.
- 31:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 31:42SPEAKER_04: And you have lots of fun with her.
- 31:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 31:45SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 31:45SPEAKER_03: Because I mean she doesn't let me go out on my own or anything.
- 31:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's good.
- 31:49SPEAKER_04: I mean we have only just turned ten.
- 31:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 31:52SPEAKER_04: I think there's a bit of time for you to go off on your own.
- 31:56SPEAKER_04: If you could go off on your own, where would you go?
- 31:58SPEAKER_03: Oh here.
- 31:59SPEAKER_03: Here, definitely.
- 32:00SPEAKER_03: What's water?
- 32:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah, for a bit of running.
- 32:03SPEAKER_03: Because I don't only do mountain climbing, I also do like cross country.
- 32:06SPEAKER_04: Do you?
- 32:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 32:08SPEAKER_04: What's your favourite cross country r is it cross-country running?
- 32:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 32:13SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 32:13SPEAKER_03: Uh so we I we do it with school.
- 32:17SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 32:17SPEAKER_04: Mm-hmm.
- 32:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 32:19SPEAKER_03: Yeah, with all your mates.
- 32:20SPEAKER_03: Two three years ago I got fourth in it.
- 32:23SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 32:24SPEAKER_03: Two years ago, I got um fifth.
- 32:28SPEAKER_03: And this year I got tenth.
- 32:30SPEAKER_03: However, to make it to the next round, it was before twelve, but now it's t uh top eight.
- 32:36SPEAKER_03: Oh okay.
- 32:37SPEAKER_03: So I'm really so I'm a bit disappointed with that.
- 32:41SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
- 32:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 32:43SPEAKER_04: Well, there's always the next time to rise in there.
- 32:47SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 32:47SPEAKER_03: I think it's just other people are like they've like I'm a mountain climber, lots of people would specialise in it.
- 32:56SPEAKER_03: Can we talk about your charity that you're supporting and raising money for?
- 33:01SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, so I'm in the highest mountain in every European country currently for Cry.
- 33:07SPEAKER_03: Because my best friend Xander, uh-huh, um, he actually nearly died from a critical heart condition that no one saw coming.
- 33:14SPEAKER_03: Goodness, that would have been very scary.
- 33:17SPEAKER_03: So what does cry stand for?
- 33:19SPEAKER_03: Uh cardiac risk in the young.
- 33:21SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 33:22SPEAKER_03: So it's for like young people with heart conditions they do uh heart screenings so people can know like if they've got a heart condition or not, so they can get treatment way before just before it's too late.
- 33:35SPEAKER_03: And what does Zander think about all this?
- 33:37SPEAKER_04: I think he's really proud of me.
- 33:39SPEAKER_04: Oh, that's really nice.
- 33:41SPEAKER_04: And do you guys talk about it at school when you come back from an adventure?
- 33:45SPEAKER_03: Not really.
- 33:46SPEAKER_04: No.
- 33:47SPEAKER_03: Not that much.
- 33:47SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 33:48SPEAKER_03: Do you hang out a lot?
- 33:50SPEAKER_03: Well, I mean, I've been to his house once.
- 33:52SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 33:52SPEAKER_03: He was training me how to be a good goalkeeper in football.
- 33:56SPEAKER_03: How did that go?
- 33:58SPEAKER_03: Quite good.
- 33:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah?
- 33:59SPEAKER_03: I mean now when I'm on the grass I can save pretty much everything.
- 34:02SPEAKER_03: Oh, can you?
- 34:04SPEAKER_03: As long as it's not like mega fast.
- 34:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 34:06SPEAKER_03: And do you have a favourite football team?
- 34:09SPEAKER_04: Manchester City all the way.
- 34:11SPEAKER_04: All the way, very good.
- 34:12SPEAKER_04: I don't follow football, so I'm not gonna say either way if I think that's good, bad or indifferent.
- 34:20SPEAKER_04: It's good.
- 34:20SPEAKER_04: It's good.
- 34:22SPEAKER_04: So do you go to any games?
- 34:24SPEAKER_03: Well, we've been to a few actually.
- 34:27SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 34:27SPEAKER_03: I think three now.
- 34:29SPEAKER_03: One was for my birthday.
- 34:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 34:31SPEAKER_03: Uh Manchester City versus Chelsea.
- 34:33SPEAKER_03: You probably don't know any of these teams.
- 34:35SPEAKER_04: I know the names of the teams, but I don't know.
- 34:38SPEAKER_04: I know I know the like famous ones.
- 34:40SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 34:41SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 34:41SPEAKER_04: You've probably heard of Manchester City then.
- 34:43SPEAKER_04: I have, yeah.
- 34:45SPEAKER_04: And United and Chelsea.
- 34:46SPEAKER_03: Oh my god.
- 34:47SPEAKER_03: United suck.
- 34:48SPEAKER_03: Oh, do they?
- 34:49SPEAKER_03: They're getting better now because their old manager got sacked.
- 34:52SPEAKER_03: So what do we think the chances are for United this year?
- 34:55SPEAKER_03: Hard to say because the league ends in summer.
- 34:58SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 34:59SPEAKER_03: And they they went from like 12th to 4th already.
- 35:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 35:03SPEAKER_03: But I think City probably have a higher chance.
- 35:06SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 35:07SPEAKER_03: Because they're currently second in the league.
- 35:10SPEAKER_03: Or maybe first now, I don't know.
- 35:11SPEAKER_03: Something top three.
- 35:13SPEAKER_04: It would be really awesome if uh Manchester City would like to give you some complimentary tickets.
- 35:19SPEAKER_04: Should we just put that out there?
- 35:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 35:21SPEAKER_04: Uh-huh.
- 35:21SPEAKER_04: And see if we can make that happen.
- 35:23SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 35:24SPEAKER_04: That would be amazing.
- 35:25SPEAKER_04: Would you take me?
- 35:26SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 35:27SPEAKER_04: If you want.
- 35:28SPEAKER_04: You would have to teach me about the the rules and stuff though.
- 35:31SPEAKER_04: I wouldn't want to get it.
- 35:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but any we don't know any Manchester City players.
- 35:35SPEAKER_03: Can we at least have free tickets?
- 35:39SPEAKER_04: So we were talking about cry.
- 35:40SPEAKER_04: How do you kind of get donations and things?
- 35:43SPEAKER_03: Well, we just post on our Patreon and also it's just on just giving.
- 35:48SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 35:49SPEAKER_03: So they just come across it and then they can just donate.
- 35:52SPEAKER_03: Okay, cool.
- 35:53SPEAKER_03: So if everyone Or there's a link in my uh bio that people can click on to donate.
- 35:59SPEAKER_04: Click on to okay.
- 36:00SPEAKER_04: So if any everyone just goes to your socials and they can donate and and support your your highest peaks in Europe challenge.
- 36:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 36:10SPEAKER_04: That'd be really cool.
- 36:12SPEAKER_04: And so what kind of music do you like, Frankie?
- 36:15SPEAKER_03: Benson Boone.
- 36:16SPEAKER_03: Do you?
- 36:17SPEAKER_03: I like Benson Boom.
- 36:18SPEAKER_03: We went to his concert not too long ago in Manchester.
- 36:21SPEAKER_03: Did you?
- 36:23SPEAKER_03: He's pretty cool, I like him.
- 36:24SPEAKER_03: Tati! No! Tati!
- 36:26SPEAKER_04: He's not allowed in there, it's way too fast, so get stuck.
- 36:29SPEAKER_04: You're doing a really good job of policing Tati, you know, don't you?
- 36:33SPEAKER_04: You know what's coming, that's why.
- 36:35SPEAKER_03: He's really not allowed in there because he'll get in and eat and he'll die.
- 36:40SPEAKER_03: He doesn't like water, so I'm not concerned that he'll like go fully in.
- 36:44SPEAKER_03: Well, I mean he likes going like up to legs, but not fully like Katie.
- 36:48SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 36:48SPEAKER_03: The other one.
- 36:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 36:50SPEAKER_03: Uh because she goes full on.
- 36:51SPEAKER_04: Does she?
- 36:52SPEAKER_04: She looks pretty chill to me.
- 36:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah, she's quite old.
- 36:55SPEAKER_03: Oh.
- 36:55SPEAKER_04: That's probably why.
- 36:56SPEAKER_03: Oh, that'd be why.
- 36:58SPEAKER_03: Like twelve.
- 36:58SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
- 36:59SPEAKER_04: Oh, that's pretty old, isn't it?
- 37:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 37:02SPEAKER_04: I think twelve, maybe.
- 37:03SPEAKER_04: Do you think when you're older, would you have your own dogs?
- 37:06SPEAKER_04: Probably.
- 37:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 37:08SPEAKER_04: Do you like them?
- 37:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 37:10SPEAKER_04: What's good about them?
- 37:12SPEAKER_03: Well, I just like them because they're really fluffy and they could lump on the sofa with me.
- 37:18SPEAKER_03: That's a good reason.
- 37:20SPEAKER_03: And I guess they're fun to walk with.
- 37:22SPEAKER_03: Oh hi Mr.
- 37:22SPEAKER_03: Raymond.
- 37:23SPEAKER_04: What are you up to?
- 37:24SPEAKER_03: Just filming a podcast.
- 37:26SPEAKER_03: Mr.
- 37:26SPEAKER_03: Raymond, I've not quite learned my Lego League lines.
- 37:29SPEAKER_03: However, we're gonna send it the all the photos to Hattie.
- 37:33SPEAKER_04: Oh good.
- 37:34SPEAKER_04: Well I said it's just when we get him one day, so I do it.
- 37:38SPEAKER_04: Yeah, are you his school teacher?
- 37:40unknown: What?
- 37:41SPEAKER_03: He's the Lego League brother that I was telling you about.
- 37:43SPEAKER_03: Oh, it's all on here.
- 37:44SPEAKER_04: You're gonna have to tune in.
- 37:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 37:47SPEAKER_04: What's it called?
- 37:49SPEAKER_04: Sakania the podcast.
- 37:50SPEAKER_04: We've had such a good chat.
- 37:52SPEAKER_04: Have you enjoyed it?
- 37:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I could chat.
- 37:55SPEAKER_04: No, you don't have to.
- 37:56SPEAKER_04: It's okay if you didn't enjoy it.
- 37:57SPEAKER_04: Oh thanks, mate.
- 37:59SPEAKER_04: I've really enjoyed it.
- 38:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you may speak the truth.
- 38:03SPEAKER_04: That's true.
- 38:04SPEAKER_04: It's so nice for me to hang out with you because I've seen so much of you on socials, and I follow you on socials.
- 38:10SPEAKER_04: Oh, thank you.
- 38:10SPEAKER_04: And I see all your adventures.
- 38:13SPEAKER_04: And it's just really cool.
- 38:14SPEAKER_04: It's really cool to be out here with you.
- 38:16SPEAKER_04: Tell me your favourite joke.
- 38:18SPEAKER_04: Oh, oh okay.
- 38:19SPEAKER_04: What do you call a deer with no eyes?
- 38:22SPEAKER_03: I know this one.
- 38:23SPEAKER_03: No idea.
- 38:24SPEAKER_03: What do you call a deer with no eyes and no legs?
- 38:28SPEAKER_03: Still no idea.
- 38:31SPEAKER_03: Go on, try another one.
- 38:32SPEAKER_03: How does a tree go get on the internet?
- 38:35SPEAKER_03: Oh, I don't know the tree.
- 38:36SPEAKER_03: They log in.
- 38:37SPEAKER_03: They log in.
- 38:40SPEAKER_04: What do you call a man with a spade on his head?
- 38:44SPEAKER_04: A spade man?
- 38:45SPEAKER_04: Doug.
- 38:48SPEAKER_04: That's funny because it's not funny.
- 38:53SPEAKER_04: It's funny for its unfunniness.
- 38:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 38:56SPEAKER_04: And the next one for that one is what do you call a man with no spade on his head?
- 39:01SPEAKER_04: Undog.
- 39:02SPEAKER_04: Douglas.
- 39:03SPEAKER_04: You were close though.
- 39:04SPEAKER_04: Undog.
- 39:06SPEAKER_04: Knock knock.
- 39:07SPEAKER_04: Who's that?
- 39:08SPEAKER_04: Europe.
- 39:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I know that one.
- 39:16SPEAKER_04: This is so nice here.
- 39:17SPEAKER_04: You're so lucky this is on your doorstep.
- 39:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 39:20SPEAKER_04: Did you have breakfast?
- 39:21SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 39:22SPEAKER_03: What do you normally?
- 39:23SPEAKER_03: I have three slices of toast.
- 39:25SPEAKER_03: Normally I have Wheatabix.
- 39:26SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 39:26SPEAKER_03: More school because it's quick.
- 39:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you just have to swallow it, don't you?
- 39:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 39:31SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I used to have Wheatabix.
- 39:33SPEAKER_03: Well, I mean, I like it when it's not too soft but not too hot.
- 39:39SPEAKER_03: I like it when it's like all covered in milk.
- 39:42SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 39:42SPEAKER_03: Like it's gone through and all except not when it's sloppy like.
- 39:46SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 39:47SPEAKER_03: So what's the next climb for you?
- 39:49SPEAKER_03: Well, in like 22 days or so now we're going to f uh Finland.
- 39:54SPEAKER_03: To the highest mountain there, Mount Halte.
- 39:57SPEAKER_03: Oh, that sounds amazing.
- 39:58SPEAKER_03: Have you been to Finland before?
- 40:00SPEAKER_03: Uh no.
- 40:00SPEAKER_03: No.
- 40:01SPEAKER_03: What are you most looking forward to?
- 40:02SPEAKER_03: Well, I mean, honestly, like playing with snow and all.
- 40:05SPEAKER_03: Oh, of course, yeah.
- 40:06SPEAKER_03: And also sitting on a snowmobile to the top.
- 40:09SPEAKER_03: Oh, that'd be cool.
- 40:10SPEAKER_03: I mean I thought I would be driving it.
- 40:12SPEAKER_03: Oh, are you not?
- 40:13SPEAKER_03: No, I'm just sitting on the back waiting to get there.
- 40:16SPEAKER_04: Well, to be fair, I'd be quite happy sitting on the back waiting to get there.
- 40:20SPEAKER_04: I wouldn't.
- 40:21SPEAKER_04: You're looking for more of an adventure, I think.
- 40:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah, of course I want to drive it.
- 40:26SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you've got time, you've got time, it's coming.
- 40:28SPEAKER_04: Do you do any research to the countries you're going to before you go there?
- 40:31SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, we do.
- 40:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 40:33SPEAKER_04: So when does that start?
- 40:34SPEAKER_04: Pardon?
- 40:35SPEAKER_04: When do when do you start looking at that?
- 40:37SPEAKER_03: Oh well we've already done all the research for Finland.
- 40:40SPEAKER_03: It's all booked and all.
- 40:41SPEAKER_03: Oh okay.
- 40:42SPEAKER_03: And guess my favourite car.
- 40:43SPEAKER_03: Oh, what's your favourite car?
- 40:44SPEAKER_03: A Tesla.
- 40:45SPEAKER_03: And guess what?
- 40:46SPEAKER_03: What we're going in from the airport to the pot.
- 40:48SPEAKER_04: Not a Tesla.
- 40:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I must have Tesla.
- 40:50SPEAKER_04: Is it gonna be a self-driving Tesla, do you think?
- 40:52SPEAKER_04: Oh no.
- 40:53SPEAKER_04: No, you'll have a lot of things.
- 40:54SPEAKER_03: Because it was on Uber, I think.
- 40:56SPEAKER_04: Oh it was on Uber.
- 40:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah, because it showed us the photo of it.
- 40:59SPEAKER_04: Oh amazing.
- 41:00SPEAKER_04: So that's another thing ticked off.
- 41:02SPEAKER_04: Another experience.
- 41:03SPEAKER_04: That's gonna be cool.
- 41:05SPEAKER_03: I'm obsessed with Tesla.
- 41:06SPEAKER_03: So whenever I whenever we pass on in the car, I either uh shout Tesla or shout Tassie.
- 41:13SPEAKER_04: Have you never been in one ever?
- 41:14SPEAKER_03: Well I mean I have without not driving road, just seeing what it's like.
- 41:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 41:19SPEAKER_03: From one of my uh mum's friends in Mountain Rescue.
- 41:22SPEAKER_03: Oh okay.
- 41:23SPEAKER_03: Who would have thought a mountain rescuer would have a Tesla?
- 41:26SPEAKER_03: Hey, why not?
- 41:26SPEAKER_03: Imagine a car with like a plane, like screens in the back of the seats, that would be heaven.
- 41:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 41:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 41:34SPEAKER_03: Well, I mean, not heaven.
- 41:35SPEAKER_03: I mean it would be better if I was climbing a mountain, however, I mean the best you can get would be in the car.
- 41:41SPEAKER_03: I mean there probably are cars that have that.
- 41:43SPEAKER_04: Yeah, there probably are.
- 41:44SPEAKER_04: Look at the view back to the pump house from here.
- 41:47SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 41:47SPEAKER_04: It's so nice.
- 41:48SPEAKER_04: It's just so calm.
- 41:49SPEAKER_04: I like seeing the green reflected in the water.
- 41:52SPEAKER_04: What was I gonna ask you next?
- 41:53SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 41:54SPEAKER_04: Do you want to ask me anything?
- 41:56SPEAKER_04: No pressure.
- 41:57SPEAKER_04: Um not helping.
- 41:59SPEAKER_04: What's the one thing that you think no one would ever ask a podcaster?
- 42:04SPEAKER_04: Do you like podcasting?
- 42:06SPEAKER_04: I do like podcasting.
- 42:08SPEAKER_04: That's good.
- 42:09SPEAKER_04: Yes, because I get to talk to people like you.
- 42:11SPEAKER_04: I get to talk to a lot of people who are very much grown up.
- 42:15SPEAKER_04: Yeah, not like me.
- 42:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 42:17SPEAKER_04: But you're still, you know, you're doing so much and you're so interesting.
- 42:22SPEAKER_03: Oh, I know what I'll ask.
- 42:23SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 42:24SPEAKER_03: Am I the youngest person?
- 42:25SPEAKER_04: Yes, you are.
- 42:27SPEAKER_04: By a country miles.
- 42:28SPEAKER_04: Sorry, other guests, but it's true.
- 42:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah, definitely the youngest.
- 42:34SPEAKER_04: And really fun.
- 42:36SPEAKER_04: It's been a really fun chat.
- 42:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 42:38SPEAKER_04: So Finland and then the world, hey, thank you.
- 42:41SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 42:42SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 42:42SPEAKER_04: So if we wanted to encourage people to go out and explore nature, what three things would you suggest for them to do?
- 42:49SPEAKER_03: Well, like climb mountains.
- 42:51SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 42:51SPEAKER_03: Like just go for a walk.
- 42:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah, exactly.
- 42:54SPEAKER_04: Just go out, right?
- 42:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and like it doesn't always have to be like physical related, it can be like litter picking or anything.
- 43:01SPEAKER_03: Oh, that's a good idea.
- 43:02SPEAKER_04: Just look after your local environment.
- 43:04SPEAKER_04: Oh, there's a tree that that's the tree that I always climb just here.
- 43:08SPEAKER_04: Which one?
- 43:08SPEAKER_04: Let's have a look.
- 43:09SPEAKER_04: Are you gonna climb it?
- 43:10SPEAKER_04: Do you want me to video it?
- 43:11SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 43:12SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 43:12SPEAKER_04: I don't think I could get any of my other guests to do the Frankie.
- 43:16SPEAKER_04: What do you think?
- 43:16SPEAKER_04: Shall we start the Frankie challenge?
- 43:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 43:19SPEAKER_04: To climb a tree.
- 43:20SPEAKER_03: Should I hang upside down from it?
- 43:23SPEAKER_04: I'd go with caution.
- 43:24SPEAKER_03: Maybe it's better not to actually.
- 43:26SPEAKER_04: Did you get Splinter?
- 43:27SPEAKER_04: No.
- 43:28SPEAKER_04: Actually good.
- 43:29SPEAKER_03: Do you go to Pendle Climbing Wall a lot then?
- 43:31SPEAKER_03: Um occasionally.
- 43:32SPEAKER_03: Oh Kesak climbing walls.
- 43:33SPEAKER_03: Um we go to Whitehaven Youth Centre.
- 43:35SPEAKER_03: Oh, is there a climbing wall in there?
- 43:37SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah, just the youth centre.
- 43:39SPEAKER_03: Well I mean there's a three year waiting list.
- 43:42SPEAKER_03: Is there really?
- 43:43SPEAKER_04: Must be quite handy to be able to do that though.
- 43:45SPEAKER_04: Do you like getting to the top and zooming back down?
- 43:48SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 43:49SPEAKER_04: So thank you, Frankie.
- 43:50SPEAKER_04: That's been amazing.
- 43:51SPEAKER_04: Um hopefully this makes it into your top five of best podcasting experiences.
- 43:57SPEAKER_04: Second! Oh my goodness, I'm so happy.
- 44:00SPEAKER_04: Okay, I'll take that with At least.
- 44:03SPEAKER_04: Well we'll try and close a top spot one day.
- 44:06SPEAKER_04: We might have to do a re-record when you're like 13.
- 44:10SPEAKER_04: How does that sound?
- 44:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah, definitely.
- 44:12SPEAKER_03: Cool.
- 44:12SPEAKER_03: Well, thank you very much.
- 44:18SPEAKER_01: How wonderful was that walk and talk?
- 44:21SPEAKER_01: I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
- 44:24SPEAKER_01: Even during the edits and the final listen through, I picked up on something different every time and had a massive smile on my face.
- 44:34SPEAKER_01: I keep saying it, but wow, what a guy.
- 44:38SPEAKER_01: He's just so interesting and fun and funny and kind and someone I feel like I could be friends with for a very long time.
- 44:49SPEAKER_01: If I made Frankie feel 5% of how he made me feel when we spent time together, I feel like I'm winning.
- 44:57SPEAKER_01: He has a very rare quality about him and is so grounded in humility that just makes him all the more magical and magnetic.
- 45:09SPEAKER_01: I love how Frankie expressed himself, that getting to the top still makes him feel astonished with such a big beaming smile on his face.
- 45:20SPEAKER_01: After a thousand plus mountains, after Scarfell Pike and Everest Camp and everything else that came before, he still gets to the top and thinks, oh my goodness, I actually just did that.
- 45:35SPEAKER_01: That's not something you can fake or teach.
- 45:38SPEAKER_01: It's just so pure in someone who's completely joyful and aligned with what they're supposed to be doing.
- 45:47SPEAKER_01: And then there's the purpose, that driving force, Xander, his bestie, with the heart condition no one knew about.
- 45:55SPEAKER_01: Frankie decided to do something about it and has just got on with it.
- 46:01SPEAKER_01: I think that's what I want us to consider.
- 46:05SPEAKER_01: Not necessarily the mountains, but of course, do try to get outside and take in some fresh air and indulge in some movement, whatever that looks like and feels good for you.
- 46:17SPEAKER_01: It's more to consider tapping into that underlying purpose.
- 46:21SPEAKER_01: As grown-ups, we kind of lose sight of what are you doing it for?
- 46:26SPEAKER_01: What's the thing if it were at risk would make you climb every peak in Europe without hesitation?
- 46:34SPEAKER_01: Frankie has his answer.
- 46:36SPEAKER_01: What's yours?
- 46:38SPEAKER_01: Maybe the smaller question of what have you been waiting to start?
- 46:45SPEAKER_01: What's your version of that first mountain at three years old when you had no idea where it would lead?
- 46:54SPEAKER_01: You don't have to have a plan, you just have to take the first step.
- 46:58SPEAKER_01: Frankie's mum didn't have a plan on a European Peaks challenge.
- 47:03SPEAKER_01: She just took her son out for a walk, half expecting to turn back at some point, but that just didn't happen and he's just kept going.
- 47:12SPEAKER_01: And look at where they are now.
- 47:15SPEAKER_01: It's just wonderful.

- 48:31SPEAKER_00: I'm acting out in memories.
