Six Months in Sayulita as the World Shut Down
Mike Moll spent most of his adult life in Toronto, building a business he could run from anywhere. In 2019, he and his partner came to Mexico to try working remotely. When COVID lockdowns began they were in Sayulita, so they stayed for six months. Mike has spent at least half of every year in Mexico since 2020, and now plans to put down roots here with his wife. We talk about the community he found, what draws him to Mexico City, why he calls himself an immigrant rather than an expat, and how he thinks about gentrification and belonging.
