- 0:00What's up? Hi. Thanks for coming. Happy to be here.
- 0:04We met three days ago. Three days ago. We met three days ago.
- 0:08Where did we meet? What was the club? We met at Westside Comedy Club.
- 0:12Westside Comedy Club. I'd say that's my home club. I'm on the Upper Westside. Is it? Okay.
- 0:16Shout out Westside Comedy Club. That was my first time there. What'd you think?
- 0:20It was cool. Yeah. Three o'clock on a Wednesday or something.
- 0:24It's like, for those that don't know, it's below a mexican restaurant yeah yeah
- 0:30so it's kind of did you go wait i went there beforehand like to eat,
- 0:34well not really i like went to get like i was i got there too early so i like
- 0:40just hung out upstairs and i got a horchata nice you ever had one oh yeah,
- 0:46yeah horchatas are great why are they just called a glass of milk,
- 0:49the because i think it's it's got like cinnamon in it it's got like something
- 0:53else there's like another whole thing to it there's like a right there's one other thing in it.
- 0:58I don't know what it is. But it's definitely milk dominant.
- 1:02Yeah. And the chips were hot.
- 1:05Like cool and nice or like like they gave me like spicy like a hot like a basket
- 1:09of chips and they were hot like temperature temperature hot okay yeah that's
- 1:12the best yes the best yeah it's hot and thin,
- 1:16yes perfect and they were so good yeah yeah so i like that place it was great
- 1:20i've never actually eaten there but i've i did my first showcase uh at the west
- 1:24side comedy cup oh so you've been doing this for a minute not really i mean,
- 1:29almost two years oh wow almost two years so i don't know if that is a minute
- 1:33is that a minute that's a minute that's a minute but it was like the beginning
- 1:37it was like totally random i don't know what why am i even trying it wasn't
- 1:41like i was like focused on it i was just,
- 1:43messing around with it that's how i started too how long did you start okay,
- 1:48i so i started back in 2019.
- 1:52Oh so that's like a lot of minutes yeah so actually i don't know if i'll leave
- 1:57this in or not okay i have a weird thing i don't know because i don't Because
- 2:01I don't like when people try to think that I'm like going for like clout.
- 2:04But so I used to do stand up at Helium when Shane Gillis was coming up.
- 2:11And so. Like you were doing, like you were opening for him? No,
- 2:14we were just doing mics at the same time. Okay, so you know him. I know him, yeah.
- 2:18Cool. And I would like come up with jokes. And he would tell,
- 2:22I would run them by him. And he would either say they were really funny or really
- 2:26bad. Most of the time they were really bad. He would do your jokes?
- 2:28No, I would just like say them at the comedy club. And I'd be like,
- 2:30oh, my God, Shane, oh, my God, get this one. Yeah.
- 2:33And he'd be like, never say that out loud ever again.
- 2:36Wait, what year was this? Like 2019. And you were, was he already big?
- 2:41No, this was before he went on to SNL the first time. Okay. Not meaning him.
- 2:45He wasn't even headlining, really.
- 2:47But like at that club, was he like kind of killing already?
- 2:50Yeah, decently. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Okay. Not killing, I don't know.
- 2:54Like doing pretty well. Yeah. He was wearing the same tracksuit.
- 2:58And I always made fun of him. He doesn't wear it anymore. It's like,
- 3:00he doesn't wear a track suit. He doesn't wear track suits anymore.
- 3:02He always wear the same phone. The other guy wears a track suit. The Stavros.
- 3:05You know that guy? You know that guy? No. Big dude. He's funny. Yeah. Okay. Anyway.
- 3:10Yeah. Maybe the internet. Yeah. Probably. Yeah.
- 3:14Yeah. So the part that I would probably want to cut is that he called me hot one time.
- 3:19Why? Why is that? Is that? Because I made out with him. Oh, you made out with
- 3:22him? Yeah. Now that's getting... Yeah. This is good. No, this is what the internet wants.
- 3:27You made out with him yeah because he called me hot at a mic how did he say
- 3:31he's like you're hot like what was his vibe he was we were at an open mic okay
- 3:36and he was doing a set and i walked down the stairs it's in a basement and he
- 3:40goes oh the hot girl's back ah,
- 3:42and i was like where.
- 3:45Everyone turns and looks at me and i'm just like what was he just me i mean
- 3:50there has to be a line right like Like, if you say that, you're clearly, like,
- 3:54saying, I think you're hot. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 3:57So you immediately just started making out? Like, later, I was like,
- 3:59oh, my God, he thinks I'm hot. Like, gotta make out. Did you think he was cute?
- 4:04Or were you just like, he's so funny? I was like, he's funny,
- 4:06and he likes me, so it doesn't matter. That's cool. He seems nice. Yeah.
- 4:12Yeah. Great guy. That's dope. Have you tried to reconnect since his blow-up,
- 4:16or no? Yeah, he used to answer my texts.
- 4:19Yeah, uh-oh. And his first Netflix special came out.
- 4:22I was like, oh my god, are you famous now? And he was like, ha-ha,
- 4:24and then he stopped. Okay, well, now you've got to get famous again, and then you'll...
- 4:29Once we're at the same level again. Yeah, you'll re-meet at the summit now.
- 4:33Yeah, people are like, how does he follow you on Instagram? I'm like.
- 4:37I know. I used to do, yeah. That probably looks good if people go to your Instagram
- 4:40and they see. Oh, yeah. And they're like, oh, she's.
- 4:42Oh, wait, she actually. Oh, she's legit. That should be the thing they say when
- 4:46they call you up to the club. Like, followed by Shane Gillis.
- 4:49Shane Gillis follows her. Yeah.
- 4:51But yeah, so then I stopped for a while. And now I'm back in it again. Well, what was your.
- 4:56Sorry, I don't mean to be taking over your show structure. No,
- 4:58you're not. What was your. Why did you start? What was your.
- 5:02What was your starting. Like, what was your origin story?
- 5:06I don't remember. You don't remember? No, I just remember signing up for a class.
- 5:10You did a class? I did a stand-up class. Okay, okay. I was like, why not?
- 5:14I think my dad got it for me for Hanukkah. He got you a comedy class for Hanukkah.
- 5:19Okay, so he's clearly saying, do this. Well, I don't, but they're also like,
- 5:25are your parents like so nervous about you doing it?
- 5:29I would say supportive. I would say, I don't know about nervous.
- 5:33I think they, I think it's more like, you know, if you're going to do it,
- 5:38like do it. Right. Kind of. But you have a nightmare.
- 5:41So I've been, before this, I had a whole other life of doing like startup stuff,
- 5:46like doing tech startups. And I've done a number of those throughout my 20s.
- 5:52And then kind of went through this evolution in the last couple of years of realizing that,
- 5:57I think for me, like the thing that you when you build like a product you kind
- 6:00of don't have a big connection to the,
- 6:03person using it it's kind of like abstract like you make this thing and eventually
- 6:07someone uses it and i feel like i was kind of just craving that direct,
- 6:14feeling of like working on something and then seeing the reaction immediately
- 6:19but i also think there's a lot of like like crazy stuff going on in the technology
- 6:23world right now where like i don't know if you follow any of that but like,
- 6:27AI is basically coding everything now all the it's increasingly doing essentially
- 6:32everything involved in doing technology stuff and a big part of me really thinks
- 6:36that live experiences are gonna re-emerge as the future like the thing that people are,
- 6:41finding the most valuable because everything's gonna be digital I agree I think.
- 6:45We yeah they were talking about it the other day this like try back up film
- 6:48festival thing I went to they're like everyone hates AI like everyone but you
- 6:51just want something real.
- 6:52Yeah, I wouldn't say, you know, I don't like universally hate AI.
- 6:56I think there's things I use it for that I like, but I do think people are going
- 7:00to crave in-person experiences.
- 7:03And there's something really like, like I love the stand-up art form so much.
- 7:07Like I love just how simple it is. It's just like people in a room,
- 7:11that's it. It's like one person does something, other people react.
- 7:15Like literally could be...
- 7:17I have this theory that it's, it comes from like cavemen and cake and women in a cave.
- 7:24And like, that's kind of why the comedy club is like, it's like a low ceiling. Cause it's like a cave.
- 7:28And then like, there's a light, it's like the fire. And then the,
- 7:31there's one caveman doing something and the rest are like, and yeah.
- 7:35So I feel like that's like, we've been doing that forever. And this is just
- 7:38like the latest, you know, structure of it. But it's like a very interesting,
- 7:43I don't know. It's an interesting theory. I didn't even think about it like that.
- 7:47Hot take that is a hot take actually the club was shane yeah that club actually
- 7:52was named the cave i just remember that there you go yeah i i i'm not surprised
- 7:56i feel like the cave metaphor is.
- 8:00Yeah yeah because if you think about it i think even if you see stand-up at
- 8:03a big place like it's not quite as good yeah because it's less cave-like and
- 8:09so i feel like you need that,
- 8:10cozy feeling right and yeah i like that i don't know there's something now now
- 8:14that i've it a lot i mean a lot i don't know but i've done it a good amount,
- 8:19as soon as i started to book shows yep and and launching a show which i'm very
- 8:23excited about probably talk about at some point here the uh,
- 8:27what was i gonna say yeah now it's like i go down into the one of the i feel
- 8:31the low ceiling and it feels like i'm like,
- 8:33almost like back in home or something back in the office i don't know there's
- 8:36like this feeling of comfort or something with it increasingly wait so what
- 8:41is your show okay so the show is called max out okay,
- 8:45and it's this is your first show no this is a this is a this is a like this
- 8:50is the first show that you're like producing and like yes yes but,
- 8:53but i'm taking it pretty seriously and i want it to be a really big thing and
- 8:56so the and i want your take on it depending on what you think it's bad or good.
- 9:01The concept is, essentially, it's a format. So it's basically like a comedy
- 9:09bracket, like a competition, where there's eight comics on the show each week.
- 9:14It's filmed at a club in New York City, and I host it with two panelists that change every week.
- 9:20And then each comic does two-minute sets, and there's a decibel meter on the stage.
- 9:26And basically, the audience cheers for the one that they want to win the match,
- 9:30and then they advance so it goes from like eight comics to four comics to two
- 9:35comics to one champion and then they get like a medal,
- 9:37and then if they get a medal they can come back as a panelist in a future episode
- 9:41that's cool okay it's gonna be on youtube spotify it's gonna be a bunch of social
- 9:46clips it's something like.
- 9:49I've been kind of inspired by the the kill tony as a format it's kind of like
- 9:55a thing that happens at a place but it's also an internet thing right so but
- 9:59new york doesn't really have a,
- 10:00like a kill toning and so i'm kind of okay experimenting with that as a yeah
- 10:05yeah my friend she just did a show about survivor okay it's like outlast i think it was called.
- 10:14Outlast productions i don't know
- 10:15so but then sometimes you would have to vote who you wanted on and off,
- 10:19well that's this you get you the the audience votes right the audience votes
- 10:22for that sometimes via via noise okay right if you want to buy tickets go to
- 10:28maxoutshow.com but the yeah and i'll post the link too and the bottom amazing thank you,
- 10:34but but yeah it's been five the first one is on june 25th the filming episode
- 10:39one love for you to come yeah and the but it's been kind of fun to set up because like.
- 10:45I don't know, you can, like, ask people to be on, you can ask different people
- 10:49to be panelists, to be...
- 10:52I don't know, it's basically just collaborative with a lot of other comics,
- 10:55which is fun. That's really cool. Yeah. That'll be fun.
- 10:58I like that. Thank you. I like when it's, like, very collaborative like that.
- 11:01There's all different people. Yeah, because I think people need...
- 11:04I'm surprised at the lack of... I feel like, like, when I was...
- 11:08I used to live in L.A. before New York, and I was dabbled in,
- 11:11like, music, and there's, like, a lot of infrastructure around music.
- 11:14Like there's a lot of like things and the charts and the, I feel like comedy
- 11:19has very little infrastructure.
- 11:22It's kind of just like people, people. Yeah. And then you discover someone,
- 11:26maybe you go to their show, but there's no like sort of structure part to it.
- 11:31And so that's gonna hopefully also be a part of it where it's like as,
- 11:35cause I want comics to come back and compete like regularly.
- 11:38And over time they get a record of like wins and losses. So like,
- 11:41like a boxer. So fun. So they can be like, you know, with, you know,
- 11:4521 and 0s, or, you know, whatever their record is.
- 11:48That's so fun. So we'll see if that works, but it's a concept.
- 11:52It makes it so competitive. It's coffee so late in the day.
- 11:55Oh, I drink coffee all day. It doesn't keep you up? No. I could literally drink
- 11:58it right before bed. Really? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I do it. Oh, God.
- 12:01I have like several. I like live on coffee. I love coffee so much. Yeah.
- 12:05But you can't have coffee past a certain hour? No, first like past like noon
- 12:09or something. Oh, no, that's like, I don't know.
- 12:12I don't get that. Same with soda. I don't feel any. I just don't think caffeine...
- 12:17It must affect me. That's why I like it. But I could sleep on it.
- 12:19That's so crazy. But that show is really cool. So you came up with the idea?
- 12:24Yeah, I came up with the idea. I think part of me has been...
- 12:28I'm so used to doing startups. I'm so used to doing a thing.
- 12:31And so I've been doing comedy now for a second.
- 12:35For maybe a couple months now.
- 12:38Trying to lock in on it. And I feel like there's a part of me that wants to...
- 12:42Build a thing with it right i don't know how to put it that's how i feel too
- 12:45that's why i'm doing this podcast yeah i want to do something with it yeah and
- 12:49i feel like i do think the thing.
- 12:53If the thing takes off then like you kind of necessarily take off with it so
- 12:57it's like it's like just giving yourself another another ticket to the,
- 13:02yeah to the maybe take off right parade do you want it to be a stand-up yeah
- 13:07okay for sure no i i really love it as a i don't know i just i think it's like the most pure,
- 13:13because like i said like i love music but i feel like music you're always going
- 13:16through something like you're going through a medium like you're going through a,
- 13:20right piano or guitar.
- 13:23A laptop something but i like with stand-up there's just like literally just
- 13:27your being and i don't know something about that it's very it feels like the
- 13:31end it's just you yeah yeah it's like the final,
- 13:35it's like the most analog thing so interesting i know Because I'm thinking about
- 13:38my roommate, yeah, who's a musician, and how she really plays,
- 13:42like what she sings, like from like, she writes lyrics about like what she's
- 13:45going through and how she's feeling. Yeah.
- 13:47And it's kind of, it's very similar, but different.
- 13:50Totally. And that's awesome. I love songwriting too, but I feel like a lot of
- 13:54music is then applying all this stuff to it to make it nice sounding. Right.
- 14:00I like with stand-up, you kind
- 14:01of just have to figure out your own personality almost to like how to...
- 14:05You do. And you can't hide behind an instrument at all either.
- 14:08It doesn't it's just you can't hop on anything anything it's so scary sometimes
- 14:14oh it's i mean it's it's that's the other thing i like i like that it's hard
- 14:17i like that it's so hard i like that,
- 14:20you know nine out of ten people are like,
- 14:23unlistenable and like terrible like i i love that i love that because then it's
- 14:28like when someone is good it's like,
- 14:31special it is yeah especially to people who get booked i'm like how how.
- 14:36What do you mean just some people who use like who i've seen yeah,
- 14:40and when they're not good they're just not funny well i was talking to a guy the other day,
- 14:44and he just finished opening for this bigger comic he was doing big like 3 000
- 14:49seat theaters nice and i was like how did you get that yeah and he's like honestly
- 14:53just like make friends like it's all it's all just making friends and uh which
- 14:58is another sneaky little,
- 14:59thing i want with my show is that i feel like i'll end up making a lot of friends
- 15:02because i'm like collabing with a lot of people and so i think and yeah but
- 15:05this podcast is why i think it's a similar thing right but yeah i feel like
- 15:08it's it's making friends and but yeah sometimes i'm surprised the the i see
- 15:12the person and then i'm like oh no.
- 15:15How did you get here interesting but that's also how i have when i because i
- 15:19work in tv it's how i get so many jobs i don't even interview for a lot of jobs
- 15:22what do you do in tv okay you told me a little bit but I'm a reality TV producer,
- 15:28so it depends on the show, but like I'll be booking locations or like helping
- 15:32with cast, like telling them where they need to be and what they need to wear. It's like. Nice.
- 15:38But yeah, like for those shows, I'll just get calls and be like,
- 15:41hey, can you work tomorrow?
- 15:43Can you be here? Can you be here? You'll get calls for what? Like a show.
- 15:47Like this show I was just on. It's like, hey, what are you doing starting Monday
- 15:51for two months? Can you come on this Hulu show?
- 15:54To be like, to help set it up. Oh, to be a producer. Okay, okay.
- 15:57Okay, Love on the Spectrum.
- 15:58Have you watched it? I haven't, but I've seen like a clip of it.
- 16:01Oh, that's so good. Oh my God. Why? Just because it's...
- 16:03It's so just like innocent and sweet. like people are just trying to find love
- 16:09with autism yeah so i do like i just wish they made them i don't know if this
- 16:14if that shows like this or not but i feel like in general when i see these shows it's like,
- 16:18i'd be interested in like real reality tv where they just basically like i feel
- 16:22like they do so many cuts and edits and things to it that they make it like
- 16:25into this soap opera but like if they just,
- 16:27actually film people do stuff that was a like their day today that or Or just like,
- 16:34Love on the Spectre, where it's just like an interesting premise of like,
- 16:37okay, a certain type of person doing a certain type of thing.
- 16:40But I feel like with, like, I don't know, I think of the Kardashians,
- 16:42I think of the, it's like, I don't know what's actually.
- 16:45You don't know what's real. Real, like, versus, like, it clearly feels very.
- 16:50Structured, like a TV show. I just did a Kardashian-type show. Yeah.
- 16:54Most of it was real. Okay. So there was this one part where,
- 16:59like, the one girl didn't know about something. We were like,
- 17:02oh, like, she was going to an event.
- 17:05Oh, go in your sister's closet and see, like, see what clothes are yours.
- 17:09And she's like, oh, this is mine. I'm done.
- 17:11But we're like, no, keep looking, keep going.
- 17:13And pushing her to keep looking for that dress she was wearing to the event.
- 17:17And it was like... But you're cutting the camera and be like,
- 17:19continue. Continue. And it's like, yeah, the producers are yelling at her.
- 17:22Like, keep going, keep going.
- 17:24Until she finds the dress and then starts screaming. Did she find it?
- 17:28Yeah. It was this whole major thing.
- 17:31But she was never going to find the dress. She was never going to look for the
- 17:34dress if it wasn't for the TV show.
- 17:36So that's, yeah, I feel like it's like you're sort of creating, which I kind of get.
- 17:40Right. But like, I've sort of been thinking through a lot of this stuff for
- 17:44the first time in producing Max Out in the sense of like, I want just the format
- 17:50itself to be interesting.
- 17:52Right. And then hopefully just let that carry the thing.
- 17:57Like, that to me is like, when I look back, like good shows,
- 18:00it's like, kind of like that. Like, they've just nailed some sort of format. Yeah.
- 18:06You put like almost anything into that format and it's like interesting.
- 18:09Great. Yeah. It's different, I guess, with two. It's like story-wise with people. Yeah.
- 18:15So, but yeah, I know. No, it's totally different. Set it up like that.
- 18:20So would you, would you want, would you, do you want to be all in on standup or what's your?
- 18:24I want to, I want to get into scripted. Okay. Write a comedy show. Cool.
- 18:29I really want to write a comedy show about being in your 20s.
- 18:32Great. And how hard it is. Do the next girls. Girls. I was just listening to
- 18:36that Alina Dunham podcast earlier. Did you ever watch Girls?
- 18:39Yeah, did you? I loved it. I watched episodes here. I don't know.
- 18:42I don't think I never watched it all the way through, but I probably should.
- 18:45I probably should go back because now that I'm in New York, I feel like probably
- 18:48hit different. Where are you from?
- 18:50Originally, right outside of D.C., Maryland. But then I lived in San Francisco
- 18:54and then L.A. and now here. Oh, damn. You've been everywhere.
- 18:57Yeah. Those three places are everywhere. When did you move here? All of Earth.
- 19:01Basically, yeah, like two years ago. So I basically moved here.
- 19:04I wasn't even thinking about comedy.
- 19:06I never once thought about comedy. And then it was randomly one Saturday.
- 19:09I was walking through the village, and I saw this open mic sign at one of the
- 19:13clubs. And I just had nothing to do. And I had done, throughout college,
- 19:18I had done improv comedy. Okay.
- 19:20Which I loved. I loved. So fun. So fun. I love improv. It was so fun.
- 19:24And I remember at the time, people would come up to me and say positive things after a show.
- 19:31But it was always in the back of my mind. I was like, that's not a song.
- 19:34It's just like a fun thing. Right.
- 19:35But in the back of my head, I was always wondering, would I be able to do, Stan? I don't know.
- 19:39But I never tried it. And then, yeah, just randomly one Saturday, I tried it.
- 19:42I didn't really have anything prepared, a little bit, but none of that worked.
- 19:47But then I got one laugh on like an in-the-moment line about the lights being
- 19:53like dental or something.
- 19:56And just like feeling that laugh. I'm like, oh, like that's...
- 19:59It feels so good. That's a nice dopamine. Yeah.
- 20:02Yeah. And then I think you slowly get hooked. now I feel like I'm like kind
- 20:05of addicted to it I feel like I need it like I was just away for like two weeks and like,
- 20:11As soon as I got back, I was like, oh, my God, I need to. Yeah.
- 20:14Yeah. I love it. I love, I just, I love when people find me funny. Just like in general.
- 20:19It's, it feels so good. No, it really does. Yeah. Because it's like kind of
- 20:22the ultimate validation, sort of. It is. So you're a Knicks fan now.
- 20:27Knicks. Yeah. I mean, I like when people are excited. Okay. And I like, I like.
- 20:32It's fun. It's fun. I went out after the game last night, walked the streets
- 20:36for context, in case people are listening to this later. Like what game,
- 20:39what just happened? That was game.
- 20:41Four that was game four see that was the major comeback one yeah it's crazy
- 20:46energy in the street i took all these crazy videos there's a there was there
- 20:48was a city bus i took a video of it a city bus there's two people.
- 20:52You know the city buses are tall yeah and there's two like young boys like on
- 20:57the top of it like it's going full speed down the road and they're like hanging
- 21:01on it and like people are like cheering them,
- 21:03like people it's funny how people just have this people are so amped after they
- 21:07need to like there was this other video i took where this,
- 21:10every car that comes by people are just cheering it and this ups truck comes
- 21:14up and the whole crowd just sees you and everyone just goes ups,
- 21:18yeah everyone's so happy yeah there's like not even a but everyone's like so
- 21:22happy in the city it's crazy it is crazy i'm i'm,
- 21:26i didn't quite realize,
- 21:28i feel like people were all these people really that into the nba no no.
- 21:34I feel like suddenly it's like,
- 21:36But I do get the lore of the, like, you know, 50 years. Right.
- 21:40But I think everyone just is like, oh, this is so exciting.
- 21:42And everybody, everyone's rooting for the same thing. Yeah. And I'm in it. I'm in it.
- 21:46I'm rooting for it. Great. I think I'm going to get a NYX thing.
- 21:48I'm going to get some sort of apparel of some kind. I got a hat for 20 bucks
- 21:52on the street. Boom. You got one? Yeah.
- 21:54That's what I need. I need, like, I need to find the one that's something I'd actually wear.
- 21:58But. Yeah. I ordered a tank top on Instagram. I've never ordered something on Instagram before.
- 22:04Why'd you order? It was just like. I don't know. It was a really,
- 22:06really cute tank top, but it still says awaiting shipment.
- 22:10Oh, no. I showed it to my friend, and she was like, why would you order a shirt
- 22:15from this person who only has two posts on Instagram?
- 22:19Probably made their day. Right? Yeah. So hopefully it comes,
- 22:23but it won't be here by Saturday.
- 22:25It is nice. I feel like last night, people were just high-fiving strangers, hugging.
- 22:30It really brings people together in a kind of amazing way. Yeah.
- 22:35I didn't well i was gonna go to sleep and then i'm so late i'm gonna go screaming
- 22:40yeah and i was like what the fuck is going on and then i checked the score you
- 22:44know i was i was gonna go out with someone and then,
- 22:47we saw a halftime score and i was like oh okay this is not so good and then,
- 22:51right i was like it's over yeah and so then i was kind of turning in and then,
- 22:54i checked it later i was like oh what happened and then and then i could hear
- 22:57like these ambient and then i heard the fireworks that no way did you not hear
- 23:00those no but you live on the other side of the world no no but they were in Central Park. Oh, no.
- 23:04They were like crazy fireworks at, in, I guess it was halftime.
- 23:08Okay. Which is a weird time because that's when they were, I thought people were like,
- 23:12I don't know. I thought it was like, I thought it was like, yeah,
- 23:15I thought it was like variety sounds of like, of something. But I don't know.
- 23:20Maybe the fireworks turned them around.
- 23:23Yeah. It helped. Yeah. I hope they win. I hope they win. If they lose.
- 23:28Yeah, that'll suck. Everyone's going to be so mean next week.
- 23:31Yeah. If they lose, because I know that's another big part of the lore as well,
- 23:34is that they've like come very close many, many times.
- 23:38I have a feeling they're going to win. I just kind of feels like.
- 23:41So there's an 86% chance they win i think on like polymarket or one of those
- 23:46on espn on espn okay speaking of dating are you dating,
- 23:50dating for sure not not not locked down okay at the moment but me there and
- 23:55fucking it sucks here dating sucks here in what way,
- 23:59it's just like i i find it to be so hard honestly to like i've only probably
- 24:05had like one boyfriend i actually really liked here that was like a good boyfriend.
- 24:08Why? Because they were fuckboys? Or like what was the reason?
- 24:11Yeah, I think I get with too many, like I date too many fuckboys and just like
- 24:15nobody, everyone says that they're interested in something serious,
- 24:18but no one actually is. I feel like.
- 24:21Yeah, I think you gotta, I think it's all timing. You gotta get someone right
- 24:23on the crust of when they're like.
- 24:26Oh, I got to do this now. Like, I really got to get going on the whole family thing.
- 24:30I feel like once they're in that mindset, they're primed for actually doing
- 24:33it. But I think, especially in New York, I think a lot of people have this idea,
- 24:36which is kind of true. Like, a lot of the city is kind of made for dating,
- 24:39like the whole, all these bars and stuff.
- 24:42So I think a lot of people want to, like, have that era, that arc of life.
- 24:47Yeah, I'm dating. I think it's... Are you on the apps? I'm on the apps.
- 24:50I'm on the apps. Do you have Locks Club?
- 24:52At one point, I had Locks Club. I don't really use... I use Hinge,
- 24:57Raya. There's the other one. I can't get on Raya.
- 25:00You know what happened? You know, so I. I can't get on. You know what's crazy with Raya?
- 25:03I wasn't on Raya. I don't even know if I'm supposed to say this,
- 25:06but I wasn't on Raya for years.
- 25:09And then literally like a week ago, after like years on the wait list.
- 25:14Yeah. I'm at dinner with my friends and like, welcome to Raya.
- 25:16And I'm like, I'm like, what?
- 25:19I've literally been on this thing for five years. And I was like,
- 25:21and so I like just started.
- 25:23I had my five days into Raya. and oh my god it's pretty great it's pretty great because.
- 25:29People actually like respond and it's oh it's it's better it's it's notably
- 25:35but it's also the gut it's got a lot of features,
- 25:37they've thought through things a little bit more like you can say when you're
- 25:40traveling where and it gives you people for that,
- 25:42it does a lot of little things so but but i was joking with a friend that's
- 25:46like oh it's like a new life it is like a new life but i've heard bad things
- 25:50about it though oh really oh yeah no one's actually interested in meeting,
- 25:54like meeting up meeting up yeah,
- 25:56I don't know. I mean, I think the... We'll see. People seem...
- 26:02I haven't gone on any riot date at this point, so I don't know.
- 26:05But I think they're kind of all the same, though, at some level.
- 26:08Like, it's like... It's all the... I know.
- 26:10It's not that different, but... It's not, yeah.
- 26:12But yeah, doing the apps. I kind of wish the apps didn't exist.
- 26:15I kind of wish you had to kind of...
- 26:16I always prefer... People in real life? I've never had a long-term relationship
- 26:20from an app. It's always been people I met in real life.
- 26:23I've had one-ish. Okay. long-term situationship from an app but that was it
- 26:28just a situationship yeah.
- 26:31Oh yeah did you want it to be more no we were really just best friends,
- 26:37it really just turned into best friends at the end i feel like that's honestly
- 26:40how all my all my ex like my one i'm still very close with my ex from a few
- 26:45years or actually from last year yeah and we're just friends like genuinely it's such so weird,
- 26:51you stay friends we're stay friends i do the same thing,
- 26:54i have several axes where we've fully transitioned into friends weird i mean
- 26:58people think it's weird i don't think it's weird i don't think it's weird either
- 27:02no i don't think it's weird at all because i think actually like once you've like
- 27:06sort of been with someone i don't know you obviously have gotten close right
- 27:09and then to just be like okay well let's just never talk again yeah,
- 27:13that feels weird because then it's like okay well i'm supposed to hate you i
- 27:16don't hate you like i don't it just didn't work out yeah and i actually think you know if you've,
- 27:22you know had all the physical dynamics i think the that's kind of like out of
- 27:27your mind now right so you can actually just be friends i feel like if there's
- 27:31like a if there's still that like tension of me then it's actually harder to
- 27:34be friends right it's like.
- 27:36Yeah. I actually was at dinner the other day with my ex.
- 27:41I was like, I wish we could have gotten married because we're such good friends,
- 27:44but it just didn't work out romantically. Who broke up with who?
- 27:48I broke up with him the first time, and then the second time he broke up with me.
- 27:54It's even. It's nice. Yeah. Yeah. But you wanted to stay together the second time.
- 27:58Second time, yeah, I did. But now I'm so happy he ended up with me. Why?
- 28:03Because I could never date him again. I love him. He's like a brother of a... Sorry, ex.
- 28:09Could not... He doesn't even listen. Sometimes he actually listens to this.
- 28:13So there was something about him that just... He just gives me the ick now.
- 28:17Ah. In like a romantic way.
- 28:19The ick is a tricky... It's a very mysterious thing.
- 28:22Yeah. Yeah, there's a lot of... I feel like I definitely, like,
- 28:25as I go out with someone, the icks... Like my first date with someone?
- 28:29No. There's no icks. I'm just like, this is great. Look at that.
- 28:32But then if you get the ick on the first date, you're fucked.
- 28:34Then it's like... It's rare. I get a real ache on the first. It's happened for sure.
- 28:39But I think I'm very optimistic at the beginning. I'm like, oh, yeah, look at this.
- 28:43Third date, I feel like the echo meter begins to rear its head.
- 28:49And I'm like, oh, interesting.
- 28:52Now, first date, what's your favorite first date?
- 28:56Like what to do on a date? Yeah. I mean, it sounds boring, but we'll usually
- 28:59get a cocktail somewhere.
- 29:01Yeah. I mean, it's not that exciting. But I think it is nice to have a drink.
- 29:05I'm not like a huge drinker, but...
- 29:08I will drink on a date. I feel like it's, like, nice just to kind of go on that
- 29:11little communal journey of getting tipsy.
- 29:15Right. And then, okay, and then when the bill comes, I always feel so awkward about this. What?
- 29:20When the bill comes. Because I'll, like, I'll fake. I'll fake go for my wallet.
- 29:25Like, what do you want to see on a date?
- 29:28Well, I always pay. But I think the—I really don't like the whole thing of the
- 29:33splitting and the—I know that's, like, the thing.
- 29:38Or whatever i don't really to me i see it as part of the courting thing it's
- 29:43like it's almost a kind of a sexual it's like i don't know it's like part of
- 29:47the whole dynamic to pay and.
- 29:50Sure if they do the fake go for the purse i'll usually like roll my eyes or
- 29:54something and be like okay yeah,
- 29:56i kind of like when they don't i kind of like when they're just like no because
- 30:01i don't know because it's sort of performative and it's sort of like unless
- 30:05they're truly like wanting to do that And they actually think that's what I want.
- 30:10But yeah, I don't know. I feel like the, I worry if you set it up so that it's
- 30:14too equal to be, it's just, there's some, it's not something about perfectly
- 30:19equal. Everything is like not attractive. Like it doesn't, it's like supposed
- 30:22to be kind of like yin and yang or something. Yeah.
- 30:25Yeah. But you want, yeah, it has to be, I agree. It has to be kind of like uneven in the beginning.
- 30:30In some way. Like, like, oh yeah. Yeah. Like ideally you, you know,
- 30:35she's bringing something to the table that you don't have and you're bringing
- 30:39something she doesn't have. Right. Yeah.
- 30:42Yeah. Are you like, okay, what about Jewish? Do you only want someone Jewish? No.
- 30:47I, uh, my dad's Jewish. My dad married to my mom.
- 30:51My mom converted to Judaism before I was born, but not genetically Jewish.
- 30:56No, I feel zero, you know, pressure that I have to.
- 31:00But if I do, that's great. If I don't, that's great. To me, I feel like also
- 31:04people are also pretty...
- 31:06Like, the Jewish thing, I think, is connected to the, you know,
- 31:08it's a cultural thing. Like, you can tell when someone has the thing or not.
- 31:12But I think we're at this, like, late stage of humanity where it's,
- 31:17like, not as many people are actually, like, locked into their religion in,
- 31:21like, a structural way like they used to be. Right. What about you? Are you?
- 31:26I really want a Jewish guy. Why? Because of that.
- 31:30To please your parents? To also please my parents. Okay.
- 31:33But I also, like, I love the whole community. i love like the,
- 31:37being able to kind of like share
- 31:38the same kind of experiences like we both celebrate like rosh hashanah
- 31:43and like we both what if you just bring that part to the table and then that's
- 31:46fine but you want them to also i want them to have like that kind of experience
- 31:50so that they know what it's like to have a crazy freaking family yeah um,
- 31:55they yeah it's just kind of like the shared experience of it and being like
- 31:59from the same bathroom but also if he is really nice then like wait fuck i get so nervous,
- 32:05if he was really nice and like open then like fine but all my filters online
- 32:09are all jewish oh really what are what are their what are your other filters
- 32:12to give like height filters do you have other filters or no just age and,
- 32:16miles and religion and your age is like 18 to 22 that's your main age mean age it could go lower.
- 32:25No right now i'm What am I?
- 32:27I think I'm 30 to 36, 38, maybe?
- 32:30Okay, that's reasonable. And you're how old? 31. 31, okay. How old are you?
- 32:3434. Okay. No, that feels right. I feel like the...
- 32:38It seems like the standard thing is this guy, you know, a couple years older than a girl. Yeah.
- 32:43Well, also my last ex, he was... Well, he's not even 26 yet.
- 32:48Oh. And you were... He was a baby, and I was 30. He was a baby.
- 32:52I had one like that when I was 22...
- 32:55I had a serious girlfriend who was 26. Yeah. And that didn't work.
- 32:58It doesn't work. Yeah, she was, like, ready for a serious thing. And I was like.
- 33:03That's how I was. I was, like, so ready for a serious thing.
- 33:05And he's like, no. Yeah. Like, I just, no, I just got to New York.
- 33:10Yeah, I feel like there's something.
- 33:12I feel like it's rare for the. Although my mom and dad, like,
- 33:15my mom was a couple years older than my dad.
- 33:17Okay. But they were both in their 30s. I don't know.
- 33:21I think it can work. Right. But I think what feels most natural is like a few
- 33:26years' quarter. I agree. Yeah.
- 33:28No, I'm trying to be open to non-Jewish people too, but it's like,
- 33:32honestly, it's a little... Do you have like non-Jewish friends?
- 33:35Some. Like my roommate's not Jewish. Okay. It's mixed. Yeah.
- 33:39Well, actually, a lot of my close friends aren't Jewish. Yeah. Yeah. I have a mix.
- 33:43Yeah. I don't really have many friends who are Jewish now that I've even realized.
- 33:48I thought that was the end of the sentence.
- 33:50If you don't have any friends. I definitely feel like when I meet another Jew,
- 33:55there's kind of this instant, like, this is actually kind of a problem for me,
- 33:59though, because I feel like I feel this interesting connection with them,
- 34:01almost like, like, I feel this with girls.
- 34:04I feel like it's almost like a sister. It's almost like a cousin.
- 34:07And I'm like, so it's not like I'm like, yeah, which is a different energy than,
- 34:13the, like, dating attraction energy. It's more of like a.
- 34:17Yeah. It's like I feel like I already know them. Yeah. Which,
- 34:20which, yeah, I feel like those are like slightly different.
- 34:22Wavelengths in my mind so yeah i love meeting other,
- 34:27views i can always i go especially with comics too i can tell very quick like as soon as they,
- 34:31they start to do a little thing i can right yeah it's like a little or just
- 34:35their face too you can tell yeah with the face i don't know it's like my brain
- 34:40though can't actually identify what i'm seeing but i just it like computes it you just know yeah yeah,
- 34:47yeah like the other day at that mic the whole i forgot his name He was wearing a camp shirt.
- 34:52Like, or Camp Shorts, like, from the camp he went to. Totally.
- 34:56I was a big camp kid. Where'd you go? I went to a sleepaway camp.
- 35:00Which one? It actually wasn't a Jewish sleepaway camp. Oh. But a lot of Jews
- 35:03went to it. It's actually kind of weird. It was like a YMCA camp,
- 35:07which is a Christian thing, but a lot of Jews went to it.
- 35:10It's called Seagull. The girl camp is called Seafair. It's in a...
- 35:13You went to an all-boys camp? Well, it's actually a fun setup. It was a...
- 35:17There was like a lake, and then there was an all-boys camp, and then across
- 35:20the lake is an all-girls camp. Okay, fun. And then every Saturday night there was a dance.
- 35:24And so it was like this big dramatic thing of like, and then like one day a
- 35:27week you could go over to the girls camp. And so there was all this like,
- 35:29you'd write letters back and forth over the lake. It was like a whole thing.
- 35:33I went to an old girls camp. Oh, really? But we only saw the boys once a week and it was so...
- 35:37Oh, wow. It was the same thing. It was the same thing, but it wasn't connected
- 35:40like that. We were not writing each other letters. Oh, you weren't? No.
- 35:43I mean, like we liked them, but it was like, oh my God, are we going to talk to the boys this week?
- 35:48No. Like nobody was actually having relationships. oh i mean we had,
- 35:53really but you know what i mean like actually like we weren't like friends with them,
- 35:57until like the very very end well yeah i mean we weren't i was actually also
- 36:01a counselor there when i was like a teenager and i remember one of the most
- 36:06fun parts of being a counselor was like i had my cabin and like we'd
- 36:09before the dance i would give them this little like pep talk of like you know,
- 36:13and then the because it's like such a ordeal when you're that age like it's
- 36:18like the biggest thing in the world is like oh my god this was because it's like.
- 36:22Dances in general i feel like we're i kind of missed i feel like there's nothing
- 36:25like that in the adult world no where it's like this got that feeling because
- 36:30it's like okay a bar okay a club but it's not i think i get that feeling of like going on like a date,
- 36:34like it's like that's oh my god like i'm gonna talk to this guy i'm so nervous
- 36:39like yeah but with a date you know who you're going on a date with i feel like with a dance it's like,
- 36:44something could happen like like my crush i could talk to her my crush could
- 36:48right yeah in cry i was actually been working on a little bit about this about crushes just about like,
- 36:53I feel like you don't, like, at a certain point, like, do you feel you have
- 36:56crushes now? Or has the crush... Oh, no. Oh, my God.
- 37:00Thank God. I had such a... Actually, I had such a crush last year on this guy at Pickleball.
- 37:04And do you play pickle? Yeah, my dad actually recently, in my childhood home,
- 37:09like, made this little Pickleball court. So every time I go home now, they're like...
- 37:13Oh, my God, amazing. Yeah, yeah. He's super into it. It's so fun.
- 37:16I like it a lot. It's fun. Yeah, it's so fun. Yeah, I had a crush on this guy at Pickle.
- 37:21And then he finally asked me out. Uh-huh. but then how did he ask you out was
- 37:25it like hey you don't remember ask how you like your backhand.
- 37:31Hi i forget oh we were at a party and then we like ended up it was so romantic
- 37:37like it was like out of a movie where they go to the bathroom together or like,
- 37:43it was romantic it was like go to the bathroom i was like i was talking to him
- 37:48i was like i gotta go to the bathroom and he's like me too and we were both waiting in,
- 37:51line okay but he kissed me very unexpectedly that was the romantic part wait
- 37:56so you're at a table yapping away and then and you're like bathroom and he's
- 38:00like he's like i have to come too yeah i have to come because that's okay anyway so so you're.
- 38:07Normal human behavior would be, okay, you go, then maybe I'll go.
- 38:09You go, then I'll go. But okay, let's go together. Let's go.
- 38:12So you're walking, and then you're in line together?
- 38:15Yeah. And then kisses. Yeah. In line for the bathroom. Yeah.
- 38:19Okay. Okay, it's a lot less romantic. No, it's like Cinderella.
- 38:23It was like Cinderella. Yeah, it's no different. It's the same situation.
- 38:27It was so exciting. Now it actually, it doesn't sound that good.
- 38:30No, it sounds, I think it's every girl's dream. It was every girl's dream,
- 38:34and then we went to stumble in after together.
- 38:36There to what stumble the stumble in what's that it's just like a stupid,
- 38:42first and last time i've been it's like this like wild bar in the upper east
- 38:46for like 22 year olds stumble in yeah oh that's like is that like a pun like
- 38:51you stumble in i guess so but it's also in like like a like a hotel it was no it's just like a bar,
- 38:57yeah but in like inn yeah okay,
- 39:00do you ever date an andrew I haven't in a while.
- 39:04So you don't. You're all in. That's okay. I mean, I know that's kind of,
- 39:06I feel like, the standard.
- 39:08One thing I've noticed is Jewish, I don't know if this is true,
- 39:11but I've just noticed this in my own little life, that the Jewish girls tend to be more,
- 39:17locked into having a Jewish guy than I think Jewish guys are locked into having
- 39:22a Jewish girl. I agree. Do you agree with that? Yeah.
- 39:25But it might also be, I'm sorry. No, no, have you only dated Jews?
- 39:29No, no, I've dated both. Both? Yeah. What do you like better?
- 39:32I don't think it's like a...
- 39:35To me, it's all depending on the person. But I also haven't dated like...
- 39:40At least up until this point, been like, oh, I'm ready for like a family. Okay.
- 39:44So maybe that might change something when I'm actually fully locked into that
- 39:47mindset. Do you have any questions? Who's your favorite comic?
- 39:50Right now, Rachel Sennett. I don't know if I know Rachel Sennett.
- 39:54She just did I Love LA. Let me see your face. I don't know. I'm like kind of
- 39:58a face person. She did. How do I spell Sennett?
- 40:01F-S-E-N-N-O-T-T.
- 40:06Right? Rachel Sennett.
- 40:09This girl? Yes. She's so funny. She's not even listed as a comic.
- 40:13She's listed as like a screenwriter and actress. Oh, yeah.
- 40:16I don't actually... Or no, she does do a little bit of stand-up.
- 40:19Oh, I've seen this girl in movies. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, she's so funny.
- 40:21She's funny. She is funny.
- 40:23She's funny. I forget what I saw her in. I saw her in something.
- 40:25She just did something with Dan Levy, but she wasn't in it. She like wrote it with him.
- 40:29Okay. Yeah. Well, is she like an example of what you'd want to...
- 40:34Oh, yeah. Nice. I want to be here when I grow up.
- 40:38It's great. It's great. Who do you like? Honestly, I mean, in my bucket,
- 40:42I would probably, Shane would be in my bucket of people I think are great.
- 40:48I don't find him funny. Really? Yeah, I never found him that was funny.
- 40:51Oh, my God. I feel like he's like a master.
- 40:53He's live in Austin special, I think. Okay. Yeah, I heard really good things
- 40:57about that one. You should watch that one. That's the one I show. I've shown my family.
- 41:01Who do you like? And I'll show them that. And that always works to get them
- 41:04laughing. Really? I think he's good at... I also like... One of the things I
- 41:08liked with him is he's not...
- 41:09I don't love... I don't know what your view is. I don't love when comics are,
- 41:14all in on this or that issue and everyone else sucks and this group is the one
- 41:20I like and everyone else...
- 41:21I feel like he's really good at kind of touching on stuff but not alienating
- 41:26half the world sort of in a way. But it's still funny and he's still poking at everything.
- 41:31I feel like he manages to kind of... okay do that in a way that's kind of skillful but,
- 41:38okay i just feel like if i watch him i'll just be like oh i can't wait i can't
- 41:41believe i made out with him why you know i don't think he's cute at all,
- 41:47i was i don't think he's cute either but,
- 41:50but he's funny i don't know the he's about to do the biggest stand-up show in
- 41:53history what is it it's the football stadium in philly oh at lincoln yeah yeah good for him,
- 42:00You sound so authentically happy for him. I'm so happy. Oh, my God.
- 42:04That's great. That's so cool. Maybe he'll answer my text after. After.
- 42:11You should be in the crowd with a sign. I texted you, like, six times. He made it out in 2019.
- 42:17Same. Be like, oh. Oh, that girl? Okay. Yeah. So I put him. I put...
- 42:22There's a lot of historic people I love. I love the... I love the,
- 42:25like... Not necessarily... This isn't necessarily my style, but I love the, like, crazy, like...
- 42:30Like, do you know, like, the Stephen Wright, Mitch Hedberg? Do you know either of those?
- 42:34You don't know either of those? Those are both. What do they write?
- 42:37They, like, it's a very unique style, but they're, like, it's hard to even describe,
- 42:41but it's, like, these one-liners usually that are, like...
- 42:45Crazy thoughts but they're just hilarious those two i'd put in that sort of
- 42:49special category of like i don't even know what that is but it's always so funny and then uh i like,
- 42:56oh love louis i love louis do you not like louis yeah well,
- 43:01now like he's funny you don't like him i feel so mixed about him oh because
- 43:06of the scandal stuff yeah yeah.
- 43:09I think the uh i feel like the world's kind I've moved on.
- 43:13I feel like he's like uncancelled now.
- 43:17Yeah, that is the thing. Now you can get uncancelled, I guess.
- 43:20I think if the world just likes you enough for your art, they're just like, eh. It's fine.
- 43:26Yeah, I feel like that, again, I'm not saying it's good or bad,
- 43:28but I feel like it does happen. It does. I feel like Kanye's kind of in that
- 43:32middle ground right now. He just did this big L.A. show.
- 43:34He did a show in L.A.? You didn't see this thing? No, I saw the thing about
- 43:37him trying to, he got cancelled in the U.K.
- 43:39He got banned from the U.K. Well, he did cancel in the UK, but he did this crazy
- 43:42two nights at SoFi Stadium like a month ago in L.A. Okay.
- 43:45Like, huge, huge thing. And, like, the thing, my quick take on him is I get
- 43:51why people hate him, obviously, you know, all the Jew parts as well.
- 43:56But my take on him is that I actually think he, in a different life,
- 44:04he could do stand-up in the sense that I feel like what he's in his mind doing
- 44:07is he's trying to just say the thing you can't say.
- 44:11And just whatever the thing is you can't say but he doesn't do it with any like,
- 44:16like what i love about comics is they can do that but they have to like,
- 44:20craft it into a joke so that people laugh and it's like i feel like he just
- 44:24blurts stuff out yeah and so i feel like but i think he's coming from a similar impulse of like,
- 44:30you know, just sort of reacting to the sort of the rules of society.
- 44:34Right. You're not supposed to do this, this, and this. But, but yeah, he's just sort of like.
- 44:39He's insane. Blurts it out. Yeah. But, but yeah, I don't know.
- 44:43He's selling out stadiums. So I guess the world seems to.
- 44:46I guess he is maybe. I didn't hear about the LA stuff. You didn't hear about that? Okay. No, it's UK.
- 44:50And I was like, well, yeah. UK. And then he just did, I saw this earlier this week.
- 44:54He just did some, some, it was like some country. It was like Albania or something.
- 45:00He did like the biggest show ever in Europe or something. I don't know.
- 45:05He's definitely, you know.
- 45:07But there's also a part of that. I think to be at that level of fame,
- 45:11you need to be, half the people need to hate you. Like there's something about that. Oh, yeah. Like...
- 45:16Taylor swift like donald trump like there's there's all there's always this
- 45:19like shadow thing of half the people hate you you need that because that creates
- 45:25the whole yeah anybody yeah i feel like you need.
- 45:29People to hate you this is great coming this is fun thank you for having me um,
- 45:34sorry i don't know if you i you said you at the beginning you wanted to do some
- 45:37intro thing about the news or something you can maybe add that oh no,
- 45:41that's what i typically do oh okay sorry i feel like i just kind of jumped right
- 45:44in no that's okay i i just i just kind of go for just interviews i just i don't
- 45:49even know i'm still figuring this out no i think it's great i think it's great
- 45:52i think i think all comics should do,
- 45:55something some sort of content format something just to get yourself out there yeah,
- 46:00but yeah i'm not gonna there's no news today yep happened one last little plug
- 46:06for my show if you want to go to the show go to maxoutshow.com slash tickets and yeah put it in the,
- 46:13link or in the notes in the whatever you call it just scroll down you can take a so you can,
- 46:19buy a ticket june 25th right that's the first episode and then there's going
- 46:23to be like sort of weekly after that okay it's in brooklyn first handful are
- 46:28in brooklyn yeah whereas what what's
- 46:30like what part of brooklyn it's called bibble bash comedy club you're like what
- 46:34neighborhood oh it's now it's out there it's like bushwick i think.
- 46:39Yeah i want to do i want to start doing them in manhattan after the first few
- 46:42episodes but wait oh my god you know where you should oh i can we can talk about it later what the pit,
- 46:47what about it the pit would love jordan the gm he's like trying to bring shows
- 46:51really in there yeah oh the pit i've done that's like the back room at that
- 46:54restaurant type no it's a it's a comedy club okay they've improv there,
- 46:59if you want to connect me yeah where's the pit it's like lower east side no,
- 47:04midtown midtown okay somewhere in midtown yeah yeah would love that oh my god
- 47:09yes he wouldn't yeah because he's like because i told him about because the
- 47:12whole thing with the venue owners and if you're a venue owner out there.
- 47:15The whole goal is to bring in a lot that basically fill the venue.
- 47:17Right. So you'll get a lot of drinks and whatever. Yeah. He wants more shows there.
- 47:22Great. I'm looking for a place that I want to do. It's like a weekly.
- 47:25The dream situation would be to do one in Brooklyn. So I feel like the Brooklyn
- 47:29scene is different than the Manhattan scene. Uh-huh. And I like aspects of both.
- 47:34But I want to ideally would be one Brooklyn show a week and one Manhattan show
- 47:38a week. That would be that would be good. So rotate.
- 47:42No, I'd like to do two a week. Two a week? Yeah. That's so much.
- 47:46You think you think you can do it i think i can do it i'm kind of going on on
- 47:49the show because i feel like also from a from my own perspective i mean like
- 47:53i because afterward we're clipping do you know about clipping like cut for social,
- 47:57no but there's like this whole thing called clipping okay it's like because
- 48:01i kind of come from the like consumer app world where the people do all these
- 48:05little things to make things go viral and basically it's clipping is where you,
- 48:10a lot of streamers are doing it right now so like,
- 48:13i'm not saying i support or whatever these particular streamers but the if you
- 48:18know this clavicular guy these other andrew tate a handful of these other people
- 48:21the reason they've been able to get so well known so fast is they're,
- 48:25clipping which is basically they take a stream or they take any long form video yeah,
- 48:29and you take some amount of money and you basically put them on these special sites and you say.
- 48:35Hey, teenagers of the world, cut up this video into whatever you think is going
- 48:38to go viral. And anything that goes, every view you get, you get some portion of this money.
- 48:43So it basically outsources the whole cutting and editing and posting and everything.
- 48:48Interesting. Okay. It tends to work. So basically with each episode,
- 48:51we're going to be clipping it and basically putting all the ticket revenue into
- 48:56clipping. Oh, that's so cool. Okay.
- 48:58That's a good idea. Is it just you doing it?
- 49:01I have a video team now. Okay. we're videoing it pretty and that's also true
- 49:05for for you or any other comics that want to compete it's the video is gonna
- 49:09be really nice it's gonna be five camera angles it's gonna be yeah really nice audio edited,
- 49:14tightly you're gonna have a lot of cool social clips all over the internet if
- 49:18you do it so yeah if you also want to do it i don't think i'm ready yet but thank.
- 49:23You okay either way you should come i know i'm definitely gonna come okay i'm
- 49:26definitely not ready yeah because,
- 49:28the yeah the because it's three rounds we ask that the comics that do it have
- 49:32ideally at least six minutes of because it's damn because it's two minutes yeah
- 49:37if you make it to the final round you'll have to do fully six minutes not now
- 49:40it'll be like two minutes two minutes two minutes yeah i actually know somebody
- 49:43do you know this girl named barrel,
- 49:45barrel yeah she's jewish too like a like the wood like a wooden thing that you
- 49:50hold wine in i don't know barrel like b-e-r-y-o,
- 49:54Oh, Beryl. She's a comic. She's done a lot at West Side. Okay. Yeah.
- 50:00Yeah, super down to find out about it. If anyone watching out there knows any
- 50:04New York or Brooklyn comic that you think might be a good thing, hit me up. My name is Max.
- 50:11Oh, my God. My friend, Ray. Now I'm thinking of all these people. My good friend, Ray.
- 50:15Cool. He does a lot of shows. He's funny. Great. Funny guy. Amazing.
- 50:19And then I'm trying to get people that are, you know, sort of more farther along
- 50:22in their comedy journey to do the to be panelists yeah like i was i'm at i was
- 50:27out at the you know olive tree cafe above comedy cellar no.
- 50:31You know comedy cellar yeah there's this restaurant right above it yeah okay
- 50:34and i met this you know tommy brennan no it's like on snl he's like okay kind of a guy,
- 50:41i probably should know okay but i the other night i was out with some friends eating there and uh,
- 50:46he was there and i met him for a second and asked if he wanted to be on the
- 50:49panel and he was like send me a dm so maybe oh no way i don't know if i should
- 50:55wait though until i already have some episodes done to and then i can point it to him
- 51:00versus the first one might be a bit of a stretch
- 51:03i don't know it also depends on his availability too,
- 51:07i feel like asking someone to be on the sort of the judge or the panel is you're
- 51:11sort of giving them a you know you're giving them a bit of a you're like oh
- 51:14yeah like you're above the competition so hopefully that's yeah that's really
- 51:17cool they feel cool about that but but also i would just send him the dates yeah and,
- 51:22see what he's available for yeah i'm gonna send it to him so maybe he's gonna be on it.
- 51:28Or some future episode and yeah if you're in a more established comic and you
- 51:31want to be part of the the rising scene yeah that's so fun i'm so excited it's
- 51:38really soon yeah it's like two weeks,
- 51:40Oh, my God. I can't believe how late it is already in the year.
- 51:44It is crazy. Yeah. It's crazy. I mean, it's hot. I feel like it went through
- 51:48spring fast. I know. Spring was too fast. It was like... And now it's...
- 51:52It was like this little pocket of amazing, and now it's too hot.
- 51:54Now it's too hot. But... Okay, cool. Thank you so much. Thank you.
- 51:58Oh, wait. You know what my outro is? What's your outro?
- 52:03It's feedback, comments, questions, a nice Jewish while living for a date. Email me.
- 52:09Oh, you're asking me. yes cool
- 52:14approved yeah cool thank you and thanks for coming internet thank you cool.
