- Jessica Figueroa: Hello, listeners. Welcome back. Thank you so much for spending this time in the morning with me. Well, today I was thinking about the song Josiah Queen sings called Dust Dusty Bibles. And I love the song. I love the music. I love the message, right? We don't want dust to be on our Bibles. But the first time I heard it, I was riding in the car with one of my daughters, and there is a line when he says in it that he wishes things were the way they were back in 2017. It still makes me laugh. So riding in the car with my daughter and I laughed out loud. And she's like, What's so funny? We pause it. I said, Well, 2017 was like yesterday. And she goes, What do you mean? I go, Well, him wishing things were the way they were back in 2017. I'm like, there were iPhones, like, what what was different? It really feels just like now. But of course, to my daughter that was born in 2012, she was five. So a lot has changed since 2017. But it reminded me that We need perspective on life. And when we're listening to our music, that is the advantage of, you know, the whole wedding thing, something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. Well, let's make sure we're doing that with everything. The new, like Josiah Queen's music. I love it. But are we doing are we listening to the hymns as well, the tried and true? If the something new is that type of worship music, are we also listening to the something old? And what other things in our lives do we want to make sure that we have the tried and true perspective, which is wisdom, age, things, classic books, classic literature that have stood the test of time. because we want to be people that while way back in 2017 might seem a long time ago to others, to some people it feels like yesterday. So just for today, we're gonna make sure that our life is full of those new things. And some old things, whether that's your music or your books or the people you listen to. Don't just listen to people your age, right? Have some friends that are over 80. Take them to lunch early, you know, maybe an early dinner. Think they're gonna get to bed on time. But make sure you have that old perspective in your life as well as the new perspective. You can't get hung up on the old perspective only either, because there's something so fresh about Josiah Queen and singing and what he's saying. It's so wonderful. It's really a mixture, which is why that expression exists. So make sure you've got the old and the new in your life just for today. I'll see you tomorrow.
