  This case is full of nitty gritty.

  On this past Sunday in the early morning hours, it is presumed
• 2:17
  that Nancy Guthrie, age 84, somebody who mentally is acute,
• 2:22
  sharp, but physically unable really to to do much.

  I mean, I mean, she lives her life, right?

  But she was described as somebody who can't walk 50 yards
• 2:35
  by herself. So she has some physical
• 2:36
  limitations, but mentally she is all there.
• 2:41
  We also understand that she has some heart issues.
• 2:43
  She takes medication, She has a pacemaker.
• 2:47
  One of the reasons we believe she was taken in the early
• 2:49
  morning hours, around 2:00 AM on Sunday morning is because the
• 2:56
  pacemaker lost connection to her Apple Watch into her iPhone,
• 3:02
  which was left behind at the scene.
• 3:05
  That happened around 2:00 AM, according to some sources.
• 3:08
  And so that's when we think it happened.
• 3:13
  Since you and I last spoke last night, there's been quite a bit
• 3:18
  of, there's been quite a bit of news actually, while we were on
• 3:23
  last night, police, sheriff's units came up to Nancy's house
• 3:30
  out there in Pima County in a rural area of Tucson, AZ parked
• 3:37
  in the driveway, put up caution tape, you know, like crime scene
• 3:42
  tape, do not cross tape. And it appeared that they were
• 3:46
  looking mostly in the garage. They were there for about two
• 3:51
  hours, according to Brian Enton. Brian Enton did a terrific
• 3:54
  report today where his camera guy put up a drone and was able
• 3:58
  to kind of see what was happening.

  So police were there at the house for a couple of hours and
• 4:04
  then and then they then they left the crime scene tape came
• 4:11
  back down. The other thing that happened in
• 4:15
  the in the time that you and I have been together is the
• 4:19
  Guthrie family has sent out has produced a video to the
• 4:27
  kidnappers. Well, now wrong button.

  about a ransom letter in the media.

  As a family, we are doing everything that we can.

  We are ready to talk. However, we live in a world

  where voices and images are easily manipulated.

  We need to know without a doubt that she is alive and that you

  white top glasses. They that while over at Annie's

  house, they saw team members of the FB is card team.

  And that's, I had to look that up.

  It's the child abduction rapid deployment team.

  This is this is a team that anytime there's an abduction,

  it's named child abduction. But in this case, obviously they

  this card team was seen by Brian and he reports at Annie's house

  with a tripod for like a telephone, like a like a cell

  phone and a ring light. So it appears that this video

  was probably created in coordination with the FBI.

  So that being said, that kind of tells me that there's some

  important things in here. Number one, I have discounted

  the, the, the ransom notes that were sent to TMZ and a couple of
• 10:32
  other local outlets. I, I've kind of discounted that
• 10:35
  as that's probably a hoax. I mean, why would you send it to
• 10:38
  TMZ? They're demanding Bitcoin.

  They're, you know, they said certain things about what she
• 10:43
  was wearing it. It kind of tells me that either
• 10:50
  we're playing 72 dimensional chess and they just want to get
• 10:54
  the public off of the scent of what they're actually
• 10:56
  investigating, which I don't think is really the the case, or

  there's maybe, maybe there is some investigative value in
• 11:09
  believing that she has been taken for ransom.

  Pima County Sheriff's Department believes Guthrie was taken

  possibly in the middle of the night and that includes possible

  kidnapping or abduction. State and federal law

  enforcement officials are involved in the investigation.

  In a statement yesterday, the Sheriff's Department said
• 15:58
  investigators have not identified a subject or a
• 16:01
  suspect or a person of interest. Authorities previously said they
• 16:05
  have no credible information that Guthrie's possible
• 16:07
  abduction was a targeted and incident.

  family home last night where the video released by the family was

  believed to have been recorded, according to two people briefed

  Phoenix office, which overseas its Tucson resident agency.

  you know, they just hurt. Understandably so.

  And so I, I really want you to know this entire team here,

  those behind me and our community are hurting with you.

  Department, along with all of our partners at the FBI.

  I've been working around the clock and, and, and we just want

  her home and get and, and find a way to get to the bottom of all

  of this just as you do. But I have other partners out

  there who have stepped up and you've probably noticed them in
• 20:33
  the last few days, if not the last few hours, and you'll see
• 20:36
  more of that. I've made a decision to contact
• 20:39
  our secret team. And those of you not local,
• 20:41
  that's our Pima Regional Critical Incident Team.

  It's made-up of law enforcement officers from this entire
• 20:48
  valley. Pascua Yaqui Police Department,
• 20:51
  Tucson Police Department, ran a Police Department.
• 20:53
  Oro Valley Police Department, Pima College Police, Tucson
• 20:57
  International Police Department, Sarita Police, So many of them.

  And they are going to help us tremendously.
• 21:05
  And that that's really done because we, we have so much in
• 21:08
  front of us still. And we're hoping that, you know,
• 21:10
  I know the, the, the FBI has committed a very large number of
• 21:15
  men and women to partner with us, work side by side with us.
• 21:19
  We go do an interview. They're going to be there with
• 21:21
  us. We, we're going to go look at
• 21:24
  some evidence or process evidence.
• 21:25
  They're going to be right there with us.
• 21:27
  We're sharing every piece of information, all the data we can
• 21:31
  to get this thing solved. It's important that my partners
• 21:35
  in law enforcement know and understand their roles because
• 21:39
  it is very large, complex investigation with a lot of
• 21:44
  moving parts. And it's, and we're at that
• 21:47
  phase now where sometimes we're, we're, we're, we're, we're
• 21:51
  waiting, right? We're waiting for analysis.
• 21:53
  We're waiting for lab reports. But even then, when they come
• 21:57
  back quickly, for example, some DNA, we rushed what we thought
• 22:01
  was the best target for DNA. We did a rush through and, and
• 22:06
  got some of that back. The, the results were minimal.

  I think you all know the, the, the blood on the porch, that was
• 22:14
  one we did it, it, it came back to Nancy.
• 22:18
  That's, that's what we know. But there's still more items
• 22:22
  that have been submitted. We just haven't got them back
• 22:25
  yet. But in the meantime, we're not
• 22:27
  just sitting on our haunches waiting.

  We do have a number of leads coming in and that's why we
• 22:32
  brought in that BI for one, but P crit as well to be able to get
• 22:37
  out there and have there and handle these leads as they come
• 22:40
  in as quickly and as expeditiously as we can.

  And every single lead is looked at, every one of them.
• 22:47
  And so we're, we're, we're gearing up.

  You probably have some questions about what you've seen the last

  couple of days. I'll gladly answer those at that

  time, but it really is about getting our partners out there.

  To be fair, when we went to that scene the first night, Saturday
• 23:03
  night, it was just us. Since then, the FBI and others
• 23:08
  have asked can we go and and see it as well?
• 23:11
  And that's what you've been seeing.

  But it is a very important case to not just me and my team, but
• 23:19
  this entire community, all of our law enforcement partners,
• 23:24
  suspects. I know there's been a lot out
• 23:28
  there about suspects. And I want to be very clear at
• 23:33
  this time, we have not identified A suspect or a person
• 23:37
  of interest in this case. We are working our best to do
• 23:40
  that. But to be clear, we have nobody
• 23:45
  of interest or any suspects that you would consider a prime
• 23:48
  suspect. We're just not there.
• 23:51
  We're not there yet. The timeline, I think we've got
• 23:57
  it on the board, do we not? This is a timeline that we have
• 24:02
  been able to develop with some of the things that we've had
• 24:04
  processed various pieces of, of electronics that we've gathered.
• 24:11
  And, and you look at some of this and I know you're going to
• 24:14
  say, well, why did it take you so long to get this to us, Cher?
• 24:17
  Well, because one thing, it's got to go out and be processed
• 24:20
  at different lab sites. And sometimes that stuff comes
• 24:23
  back to us and like you, we have questions and we say, wait a
• 24:27
  minute, what is this about? What?
• 24:29
  What about this? Could it be that?
• 24:31
  And so it's sent back or it's sent somewhere else.
• 24:34
  So and that's happening with all of the things we see that
• 24:39
  process, that review and that questioning of all right, what
• 24:42
  is it we're looking at? So I'll go over it with you.

  You can see it on the board there.

  But at about 5:32 PM, these are approximate times, 5:32 PM Nancy
• 24:54
  travels to the to her local family's home for dinner and,
• 24:58
  and playing games with the family just visiting at 9:48 PM,
• 25:04
  which is very consistent to what we were told by the family that
• 25:08
  Nancy was dropped off at home. And we, we, we know that because
• 25:12
  we have a garage door open at approximately, I can't stress
• 25:16
  that enough, at approximately 9:48 PM, at 9:50 PM, that garage
• 25:23
  door closes, which is that time we assume that Nancy's home and
• 25:27
  probably going to bed. Sunday morning, early morning at
• 25:32
  1:47 AM, doorbell camera disconnects.
• 25:39
  At 2:12 AM, software detects a person on a camera, but there's
• 25:45
  no video available. They had no subscription and
• 25:49
  therefore it would rewrite itself kind of, it just kind of
• 25:53
  loops right and covers up. That's what our analysis teams
• 25:57
  have told us. We're not done with that.
• 25:59
  We'll do all we can, but that's what it says.

  So detects a person on camera. Could that be an animal?
• 26:07
  I I imagine that's possible. We don't know that we we just
• 26:10
  have no video, but we're not giving up on that. 228, Nancy's
• 26:16
  Pacemaker app shows that it was a disconnect from the phone.
• 26:22
  And at 11:56 AM, the family checks on Nancy, discovers her
• 26:30
  missing and at 12 O3 PM, 911 is called in to the Pimp County
• 26:36
  Sheriff's Department. I believe it's about
• 26:39
  approximately 10 minutes later, 12 minutes later, our patrol
• 26:42
  teams arrived. They see the scene and we start
• 26:44
  our response with our search and rescue teams and our detectives
• 26:48
  from homicide and various units. In fact every unit here.
• 26:52
  I, I think somebody questioned what, how come there's an IKEK
• 26:55
  member out here or this member every, everybody in our criminal
• 27:01
  investigations team is a part of this team and part of this
• 27:04
  investigative effort. I think with that, let me make
• 27:11
  sure. Now I want to clarify some
• 27:19
  things that I may have already done.
• 27:21
  But yeah, I've gone over with the blood at the front door, the
• 27:25
  doorbell camera, It, it, it was removed.
• 27:28
  We know that, but we're not confirming that any cameras were
• 27:32
  smashed or destroyed around the house.
• 27:35
  I don't know where that came from, but that's something.
• 27:38
  We're not confirming the car, the, the, the car that was at
• 27:43
  the home. It's just standard investigative
• 27:46
  practices. It's part of the search warrant
• 27:48
  scene, court orders. We, we pull it out of there and
• 27:52
  do our proxy processing with the vehicle.

  Uber. We did speak to a driver because
• 27:59
  Nancy we learned had been taken the Uber to the family
• 28:04
  residence, the the daughter for dinner and we located that
• 28:10
  driver and spoke with them and, and got that information.
• 28:17
  You guys got this. I think conducting follow up, I
• 28:24
  think you said that somebody had mentioned that they saw a team
• 28:27
  out there again last night or yesterday and it was, that's
• 28:29
  just again, what I was talking about before.

  Our partners wanted a chance to see it and, and, and examine
• 28:36
  things themselves. And more importantly, it's just
• 28:39
  we, we're constantly following up on things and go, hey, what
• 28:43
  about this? So we want to go back and check
• 28:45
  on some things. I, oh, here's the other thing
• 28:53
  someone had mentioned there was sports for Stan Tree.

  I have no clue where that comes from.

  We have been very consistent. We are not discussing that at

  all, whether it's forced entry and not forced entry, that is
• 29:06
  something we're just not discussing.

  So I don't know where anybody got that information.
