- 0:05made in the murder of Spencer and Monique Tepi.
- 0:11We are going to get into this. We're going to find out how
- 0:14police tracked him, what makes them think that he is the
- 0:18perpetrator of this crime, and a whole lot more.
- 0:22Stay with me. This video contains mature
- 0:37themes and discussions intended only for adult audiences.
- 0:41Viewer discretion is advised. Well hello there my friend and
- 0:46welcome to another true crime conversation with me, Gavin
- 0:49Fish. This is a few and far between.
- 0:55What am I trying to say? This is I I hardly ever do this
- 0:58on Saturday. I usually take weekends off.
- 1:01But thanks to my sister Tiff over in the fish tank on
- 1:07Facebook. If you are on Facebook, why why
- 1:10does Facebook do that? Why don't they just stay on the
- 1:14page that you want to be on? Why do they why do they refresh?
- 1:18I don't know, but over on the fish tank, my little sister, the
- 1:23administrator of the tank put this article and like not
- 1:29burying the lead here. The ex-husband has been arrested
- 1:35in the murder of Monique and Spencer Tepi.
- 1:40Now we've got a couple things that I want to show you here.
- 1:42I, I, I would kind of rushed because I mean, look at me,
- 1:46These are my this is my Saturday get up.
- 1:48This is my Saturday garb. I was out shooting pool with my
- 1:51kiddos. I wasn't really prepared to go
- 1:54live. You guys are going to have to
- 1:55just deal with it. I guess that's funny, but it was
- 2:02a few hours ago that the news broke that this man, Michael
- 2:06McKee is his name, was arrested for the murders of Spencer and
- 2:12Monique Tepe. Couple things that I want to
- 2:15show you a couple. There are a couple of articles,
- 2:17but the main thing that we have, let me see if I can bring it up
- 2:22here. The main thing that we have is
- 2:25the actual criminal complaint and we're going to get into that
- 2:28here in just a bit. In fact, this is what we're
- 2:30going to start with. I know that I feel like I'm
- 2:34missing something. Oh, you guys are already on top
- 2:38of it. Thank you for joining me and
- 2:40wherever you're joining me from, please tell me in the in the
- 2:45chat. We got Arizona, we got Fredonia,
- 2:48we got North Carolina, New York City, Washington, Eagle, ID,
- 2:52Cleveland, GA just Ducky says. I wonder if they found his
- 2:58prints on the shell casings also there.
- 3:00There's precious little information that we get from
- 3:03this document, but we're going to go go through it.
- 3:06Ohio is in the house, Pittsburgh is here.
- 3:09Columbia, TN, Lompoc, CA, Wisconsin.
- 3:13Our friends from Wisconsin, Boston, oh man, it's going fast

- 3:23Rhonda says. Love the way you look in your
- 3:25hat. Not everyone can pull off such a
- 3:27great look. I, I bought this hat and
- 3:33couldn't ever wear it because my head was too chubby.
- 3:37My head was too chubby. And as we are going out to shoot
- 3:40pool today I was like, hey, I wonder.
- 3:42So I pulled it down. I love panel caps and I brought
- 3:45it. Thank you.

- 4:13Cooler by the lake says Columbus PD is keeping everything close
- 4:17to home. Thank you for to all of you who
- 4:19are telling me where you're tuning in from.
- 4:21Let's get into this complaint, shall we?
- 4:22Precious little information here, but we're going to go
- 4:24through it closely and then maybe we'll do a little map time
- 4:30were there. And then there are a couple of
- 4:33articles that I also want to share with you guys.
- 4:36Let's get into it. The complaint says complainant
- 4:40being duly sworn states that the above named defendant above is
- 4:45Michael David McKee. Here is Mr. Mckee's mugshot
- 4:51having been disseminated throughout the internets that
- 4:58the above named defendant at Franklin County, Columbus, OH,
- 5:02on or about the 30th day of December 2025, did knowingly
- 5:07cause the death of another, to wit, Monique Francis Tepi by
- 5:11means of shooting her with a firearm.
- 5:14Of course he will have two charges.
- 5:18I I don't I don't know if there's just the one charge
- 5:21right now, but this is the this is the document that I got.
- 5:27It's in violation of Section 23 O 9 dot O2 a of the Ohio about
- 5:33whatever it's felony. It's an unclassified felony.
- 5:37Looks like the Columbus Police Department Officer Russ Weiner
- 5:42or Weiner did file the sworn to and subscribe before me this the
- 5:4910th day of January, this very day right here, 2026 in front of
- 5:53Lori M Tayak, clerk of the Franklin County Municipal Court,
- 5:58by James Thomas, deputy clerk, notary public peace officer,
- 6:04blah blah blah. So this is an arrest warrant
- 6:06here. Case number 2026 CRA 000517-1.
- 6:13This is a warrant. The charge is murder under 2903
- 6:18dot O2A. The offense location is 1411 4th
- 6:23St. N 4th St.
- 6:25Of course that is the the residence.
- 6:29Let me bring this up of the tepes.
- 6:33If I if I just bring this on over here, I always go the wrong
- 6:39direction. Where is it?
- 6:43I feel like, oh, what just happened 14 that doesn't look.
- 6:49Did they just change the way or oh, is it a new building?
- 6:52Is this like old? Yeah, this is it.
- 6:55This is where the buildings were built.
- 6:57OK, so I mean 1411 or 1410 N 4th St.
- 7:03I guess. I guess that's where it is.
- 7:06But going back to our map, this is where we are in the world.
- 7:14For those of you who are not, you know, we've never done this
- 7:17on the channel on this on this case, Columbus is in central
- 7:21Ohio. It's quite a bit of a drive for
- 7:24me out here in western PA. But yeah, central Ohio up here
- 7:33in the Great Lakes region of the United States.
- 7:36OK, getting back over here, the arrestee or the warrant for this
- 7:43man is McKee Michael David living at 2100 N Lincoln Park
- 7:49West Apt 12DS. Looked that up as well.
- 7:55This is where Mister Man lives, this apartment building right
- 8:00here in Chicago. Let me let me go back to there
- 8:07we are. So he's living right on the
- 8:12water, man. Right there at the Lincoln Park.
- 8:17Not a bad place to live, crying out loud.
- 8:20Chicago is right there on the southern tip of Lake MI.
- 8:25We call this the Midwest, though it's also the Great Lakes
- 8:29region. A drive from his apartment to
- 8:34their home looks to be almost 5 hours, 45 minutes, almost six
- 8:40hours. That's quite a lot of an effort
- 8:43to to make the trip. And I believe that he did drive.
- 8:47I have not read the document completely because I've wanted
- 8:50to come live with you guys. OK.
- 8:55He, Mr. McKee, is a white male, 6 foot one, 200 lbs, brown hair,
- 9:02green eyes. Continuing the complaint.
- 9:08Oh, this, this is the complaint. OK, here's the second part of
- 9:12the complaint, that he knowingly caused the death of another, to
- 9:15wit, Spencer Lewis Tepe by means of shooting him with a firearm.
- 9:23I wonder what forensic evidence they had?
- 9:25I mean, I've, I've read a couple of the reports, so I know what
- 9:30led him to him, but I wonder what forensic evidence they
- 9:33have. OK, here's the affidavit of
- 9:36probable cause. Pretty, pretty sparse.
- 9:40Let's say I, Russ Weiner, do hereby swear or affirm that I
- 9:45have the following cause to believe the individual named
- 9:48committed the alleged offenses for the reasons stated in this
- 9:51affidavit in support of probable cause he selected.
- 9:55I have personal knowledge every time guys, I think it's these
- 10:00lights OK? I have personal knowledge of the
- 10:03facts listed in the statement of facts as I was involved in the
- 10:07underlying investigation and or arrest.
- 10:10Here we go. On December 30th, 2025 at 9:57
- 10:15AM, Columbus Police Patrol officers were dispatched to 1411
- 10:19N 4th St. on a check on the well-being of Doctor Spencer
- 10:23Tepe who had not shown up to work.
- 10:26Officers arrived and found Doctor Tepe and his wife Monique
- 10:29Tepe, deceased inside suffering from gunshot wounds. 2 minor
- 10:35children were found inside the home physically unharmed.
- 10:39I have added that part in. They were harmed for sure, but
- 10:43physically they were unharmed. Columbus Fire medic #7 responded
- 10:49and pronounced both victims deceased at 10:11 AM Columbus
- 10:55Police Homicide Unit Team 2 is advised responded.
- 11:01I don't know. I just hate that I, that I yawn
- 11:03under these lights, something I don't know.
- 11:06They responded and initiated an investigation.
- 11:09During the subsequent investigation, detectives were
- 11:12able to identify a suspect through neighborhood video
- 11:16surveillance. This is the video that we saw
- 11:18and we looked at this man there that is about a 200 LB male,
- 11:23about 6 foot one. He's got an interesting gait.
- 11:26He puts his toes in it has a weird way of walking.
- 11:31I, I'm glad, I'm glad they released that and helped to
- 11:35identify him. The suspect was then tracked to
- 11:40a vehicle which arrived just prior to the homicides and left
- 11:44shortly after the homicides. Detectives were able to identify
- 11:49this vehicle further and link it to Michael McKee.
- 11:52Detectives located the vehicle in Rockford, IL and found
- 11:56evidence of McKee in possession of the vehicle prior to and
- 12:00after the homicides. That is not a lot of
- 12:04information. And I know that they've got
- 12:06more. I know they've got more.
- 12:07Come on. Oh, he had possession of that
- 12:10vehicle before and after. I think a defense attorney would
- 12:14pick that apart. And and I'm really looking
- 12:16forward to the preliminary hearing because I bet there is
- 12:20more. Let me see what you guys are
- 12:22saying. Let's bring up the Tepes one
- 12:24more time. Let's see what you guys are
- 12:26saying. We've got.
- 12:31Oh, yes, great tip. That's from August 2015.
- 12:35The Google Maps shows that date. Yeah.
- 12:37So I didn't get that all prepared, Elisa says, finally
- 12:41watching a live. Usually I'm in the rewatch crew
- 12:43in Germany. Tell me where you are in
- 12:44Germany, Elisa. I've spent a lot of time there,
- 12:46mostly mostly in Bavaria, mostly down in in Munich, but I had
- 12:52clients in Hamburg and then I've spent a little time in Berlin as
- 12:55well. And then there's a little place
- 12:58called Badlan Gonzalo, which is very important to my family from
- 13:01World War Two that I've spent a little time in as well.
- 13:05Oh, we got South Africa now shut up.
- 13:07Awesome. Gavin doing grizzly map time.
- 13:11Yeah. Yeah, I am.
- 13:12She does. She's the best, though.
- 13:13I'm just a poser. Greetings from Florida.
- 13:17Cooler by the lake. I heard his car was seen nearby.
- 13:19Yes, from Sarland. Sarland.
- 13:23Well, now I have to do a little map time for Germany.
- 13:26You guys are going to have to just bear with me real quick.
- 13:30Sarland, Germany. Let's see.
- 13:38Oh, OK, up in the kind of, well, in the West, right, kind of at
- 13:44the intersection of Luxembourg in France.
- 13:47Very cool, very cool. I'm glad.
- 13:49I'm glad you are tuning in. Thank you so much, Glory, says
- 13:55the poor children. How did her ex get into the
- 13:57house 'cause you're right. It did appear, at least from
- 14:00what we've heard on news reports, there was no forced
- 14:04entry. Did he honestly like knock on
- 14:06the door and no, because it was the middle of the night and they
- 14:11didn't tell us the timing. There's there's so much missing
- 14:15here. But again, you know, our job is
- 14:18not to Monday morning quarterback.
- 14:21Our job is not to, you know, try to figure out maybe the details
- 14:26of things. Our job is to watch
- 14:28professionals do very, very good work.
- 14:32And yeah, it, it appears observation station that the guy
- 14:36that was walking is Michael. I mean, I, I might be filling in
- 14:41a couple of details here because the affidavit of probable cause
- 14:47just says that detectives were able to identify a suspect
- 14:52through neighborhood video surveillance.
- 14:55And then the suspect was tracked to a vehicle which arrived just
- 14:59prior to the homicides and left shortly after the homicides.
- 15:03I don't know when they know when the homicides took place.
- 15:05Maybe neighbors heard gunfire or something like that.
- 15:10I hope they fought back. I hope these awesome people
- 15:14fought back and made forensic evidence in that struggle.
- 15:20I really do. Oh my goodness, this just breaks
- 15:24my heart. It breaks my heart because these
- 15:28two kiddos and the other people in their lives that loved them.
- 15:34OK, let me bring you over to a couple reports.
- 15:38This is from The Columbus Dispatch.
- 15:40This was just from a couple hours ago and it says what we
- 15:47know about Michael McKee, the suspect and the Tepi murders.
- 15:50Who is Michael McKee, ex-husband of Monique Tepi charged in her
- 15:54death? The ex-husband of Monique Tepe
- 15:57has been charged with two counts of murder in connection with her
- 16:00death and that of her husband, Spencer Tepe.
- 16:04Michael David McKee, 39, of Chicago, is being held by the
- 16:08Winnebago County, Illinois Sheriff's Office.
- 16:11Franklin County Municipal Court records show Columbus police
- 16:16filed an arrest warrant January 10th, this very day for McKee,
- 16:20and he was booked into Winnebago County's corrections facility
- 16:23shortly before noon local time the same day.
- 16:26I don't know that that is on the, I mean, it's, I don't think
- 16:32that that was on this document. I haven't been able to get my
- 16:35hands on any other time. Oh, look, though, it tells us
- 16:40the suspected time, it was the 30th at 3:52 AM.
- 16:47In order to get that accurate of a timing, there has to be
- 16:50somebody saying they heard shots, right?
- 16:55So if they heard shots at 352 and they're watching him walk
- 16:59right around that same time, they see that he arrived right
- 17:02before left, right after. That's pretty good detective
- 17:06work. McKee is scheduled for a hearing
- 17:11on January 12th, likely an extradition hearing to start the
- 17:15process of his return to Ohio to face charges.
- 17:19Monique, 39, Spencer 37. Yeah, OK, we know that about
- 17:26them. Here's what we know about McKee.
- 17:30According to court documents, Columbus detectives identified a
- 17:32vehicle that had been in the area of the Tempe home shortly
- 17:35before the couple is believed to have been killed and leaving.
- 17:37Shortly after. Court records say detectives
- 17:39tracked that vehicle down, locating it in Rockford, IL, and
- 17:43identified that McKee owned the vehicle.
- 17:46On January 5th, police released security camera footage from an
- 17:48alley near the Tepi home showing a person walked walking during
- 17:53the 2:00 AM to 5:00 AM window on December 30th, during which
- 17:57detectives believed the Tepi's were killed.
- 17:59There did not appear to be any signs of forced entry and no
- 18:02obvious signs of a robbery, according to information
- 18:05publicly provided by authorities.
- 18:07This is very well written. Who is Michael David McKee
- 18:12Medical? What is this guy a doctor?
- 18:17Is this guy a doctor? I mean, to live, to live here.
- 18:27That does seem like a pretty swanky part of Chicago.
- 18:31Right on Lincoln Park, right on the water and in a building.
- 18:38I'm going to go to the corner here in a building that looks
- 18:43this. No, it is this one that looks
- 18:45like this, right? That.
- 18:50OK, let me let me keep reading. You guys are like, dude, get on
- 18:53with it. Medical licensure databases show
- 18:57McKee went to medical school at Ohio State University.
- 19:01He has active licenses as a vascular surgeon in Illinois and
- 19:07California. This guy is a vascular surgeon.
- 19:12What is it about relationships that drives people to do stupid
- 19:16things? This is an educated,
- 19:18accomplished person. What?
- 19:21What? Huh?
- 19:23This blows my mind. It blows my mind.
- 19:27I'm. I don't know anything about the
- 19:29situation. I know nothing about the
- 19:31situation except that this man is arrested for the murder of
- 19:37this woman and this man there, and they were divorced.
- 19:43Oh my goodness. What drives people to behavior
- 19:47like this is fascinating and scary.
- 19:51He had a license in Nevada, which lapsed in mid 2025.
- 19:54Clark County, that's where Las Vegas is.
- 19:57Nevada court records show McKee is one of several doctors who
- 20:01are named in an ongoing personal injury lawsuit.
- 20:05Mckee's medical license shows no disciplinary history in any of
- 20:09the states where he practiced. McKee has no discernible
- 20:13criminal record outside of track traffic tickets.
- 20:15At one time, McKee had a hunting license in Ohio.
- 20:20But it it is unclear if that license remains active or valid.
- 20:27McKee and Monique Tepe, who was Monique Sabatersky at the time,
- 20:32married in August 2015, according to Franklin County
- 20:36domestic court records. OK, hold on, Franklin County is
- 20:41Ohio. Well, they both went to Ohio
- 20:46State, right? Monique filed for divorce in May
- 20:502017, according to court records.
- 20:52McKee was listed as living in Virginia at the time, where he
- 20:55appears to have been attending a surgical residency program,
- 21:00court records show. The couple was separated at the
- 21:03time of the divorce, which was finalized about a month later.
- 21:06There is no indication in court records that there was any
- 21:09animosity between the couple. They do not share any children.
- 21:15The docket for the divorce filing lists a mutual
- 21:18restraining order. This is standard in divorce
- 21:21cases and prevents either party from accessing assets or bank
- 21:25accounts without going through court processes while the
- 21:28divorce is pending. You know, a lot of people
- 21:31pronounce that processes, but I don't.
- 21:35Where is Michael David McKee from?
- 21:38Publicly. Publicly available information
- 21:41shows McKee has family members in the Zanesville area.
- 21:45Let's look to find out. Let me just give me a second.
- 21:52Zanesville, OH, all right. Bring you over here.
- 22:00This is the Zanesville area. Where is it?
- 22:06OK, so it's it's east of Columbus.
- 22:11By how far? Let me if we do Zanesville
- 22:15directions from Zanesville to Columbus, OH.
- 22:22It is a roughly an hour outside of Columbus, OK.
- 22:29He attended Ohio State University for undergraduate and
- 22:32medical school. McKee played football at
- 22:35Zanesville Bishop Rosencrantz Rosa Cranz Rosecrantz High
- 22:39School, where Ohio High School Athletic Association records
- 22:43show he earned honorable mention Allstate honors his senior
- 22:46season. Mickey has listed as having
- 22:49received several academic honors during his high school career,
- 22:53according to Zanesville Times Recorder archives.
- 22:55Crazy. We've got a standout academic
- 23:02high school student from central Ohio, attends Ohio State
- 23:10University for undergrad and medical school, goes on to
- 23:13become a vascular surgeon. How does that happen?
- 23:22How does the I? I want to hear your thoughts.
- 23:24Maybe I'm just so naive. Maybe I'm just so naive, but
- 23:29just crazy. What's next in the case against
- 23:34Michael David McKee? McKee will continue to be held
- 23:37in Illinois until he is extradited to Ohio.
- 23:41Once he is brought back to Ohio, he will have a hearing in
- 23:43Franklin County Municipal Court to have bond set.
- 23:47The case will then be reviewed by a grand jury for potential
- 23:50indictment and additional charges.
- 23:54Wow, Oh my goodness. I I got a here.
- 23:57We're going to, we're going to get this guy's picture up here.
- 24:00Let me see what you guys are saying over here.
- 24:05Li Libu Grizzly says hi again. Back back again from Brazil.
- 24:12Glad you're here, Joel. On surviving, the survivor
- 24:15reported that Monique was involved in a court case with
- 24:17her ex about splitting their assets.
- 24:20So pending decisions might have motivated this.
- 24:23Like 8 years after the divorce. Eight years.
- 24:30Wow. I have I have one more article
- 24:34to read. Maybe we'll we'll find a little
- 24:37more information. She filed A restraining order
- 24:45after she left him The what I've learned is that or what I
- 24:48understand and it said so in that article that the
- 24:51restraining order is is typical. Yeah.
- 24:54I'd imagine they met in college. Someone commented on is it Vinny
- 25:05Politan's live earlier that Monique won a case recently and
- 25:07was granted access to assets. Not sure if this is true but
- 25:11interesting to look into. OK I will, I will this is wild.
- 25:18Long hair are you talking? Yes, I do have long hair right
- 25:21now. Hopefully in April I'll be able
- 25:23to cut it all. I'd made a mistake guys.
- 25:25I made a mistake. I had my hair trimmed because it
- 25:28was driving me crazy and that added months to this little
- 25:31mission of mine. Let's see, he looks scary, says
- 25:36123 Shiloh. Oh wow.
- 25:39JS craps 5195 says I went to high school with this dude.
- 25:45Interesting. Put AGF in your next comment.
- 25:48JS craps. I'd.
- 25:49I'd love to know what you thought of him in high school.
- 25:56Let's see. SDH 4557 says he had made
- 26:00stalking statements and her parents moved her from Virginia
- 26:03while he was at work. Wow.
- 26:07Jill 199 says I like your hair long.
- 26:12Yeah. Interesting.
- 26:13Why would she go after any assets, especially 8 years
- 26:16later? Just very interesting STH 4557
- 26:23says he was pretty cute when he's young.
- 26:25Now he just looks void and scary.
- 26:29So did you know him as well? I just want to make sure that
- 26:33this is the same person. Hang on.
- 26:36Went to high school with him. Now I can't find it.
- 26:47Yeah anyway. Anyway, goodness observation
- 26:52station I yes, I believe this is The Walking man Yes Wow, very
- 27:01interesting, so interesting and I love your comments guys.
- 27:04Thanks. Be sure to put GF in your
- 27:06comments if you want me to see him.
- 27:08I I have a hard time. I mean, I do see most of the
- 27:11comments, though not all, but it's really easy to go to the
- 27:15highlighted ones. It's very, very easy.
- 27:21Oh, that's funny. Doctor McKee and an Easter
- 27:24Island statue. Who would know the difference?
- 27:27Could you tell the difference? Yes.
- 27:30The glasses give it away. The.
- 27:31It's the glasses that give it away.
- 27:34That's so funny. So funny.
- 27:38Yeah. Stephanie Christensen says.
- 27:41Gavin, after all the cases you've researched, narcissism,
- 27:44DV, coercive control, high achievers, not surprising he's
- 27:48controlling. That is.
- 27:49That's an astute observation. That is a very good observation.
- 27:53I just, you know, my hat looks ridiculous.
- 27:59Leave me alone, man. I like my hat.
- 28:05Yeah, I I you're right. You're right.
- 28:07That's a good observation. That high achievers, not not
- 28:12surprising. They are controlling.
- 28:14Wish wish people were just a little bit more chill.
- 28:20Heartbroken for their families. Yes M lady 66.
- 28:24This guy lives in my late aunt's building.
- 28:26And yes, it's a really nice area across from the zoo and view of
- 28:30the lake. Swanky indeed.
- 28:31It looked like it looked like a swanky place.
- 28:34I do not need a new hat. You leave my hat alone.
- 28:37Archangel knows. Archangel knows.
- 28:41All right, let's go to the next article that I have for you
- 28:45here. This coming from tentv.com.
- 28:50I think this is the local ABC affiliate, I think. ex-husband
- 28:54charged with murder in connection with deaths of
- 28:56Weinland Park couple A 39 year old man is facing murder charges
- 29:02in connection with the deaths of a couple who were shot inside
- 29:04their Weinland Park home last week, according to court
- 29:07records. I just see if there's any
- 29:10anything extra here. So he was booked Saturday
- 29:19morning. He's scheduled to appear in
- 29:22court on Monday. The Tempe family released a
- 29:25statement on Saturday afternoon after the arrest.
- 29:28Here's the full statement. Today's arrest represents an
- 29:32important step toward justice for Monique and Spencer.
- 29:36Nothing can undo the devastating loss of two lives taken far too
- 29:39soon. But we are grateful to the City
- 29:41of Columbus Police Department, it's investigators and the
- 29:44assisting law enforcement community whose tireless efforts
- 29:48helped to capture the person involved.
- 29:52This whole family is just so impressive to me, guys that
- 29:55they're just super impressive. I just, I don't know, I love
- 29:59them. We thank the community for the
- 30:03continued support, prayers, and compassion shown throughout this
- 30:06tragedy. As the case proceeds, we trust
- 30:09the justice system will hold the person responsible fully
- 30:12accountable. Money can Spencer remain at the
- 30:15center of our hearts and we carry forward their love.
- 30:17As we surround and protect the two children they leave behind,
- 30:20we will continue to honor their lives and the light they brought
- 30:23into this world. Let's go over a quick timeline
- 30:26of events, shall we? On the 30th, Columbus police
- 30:34were called on a well-being check around 10 AM.
- 30:38Co workers and friends had reported that they'd not heard
- 30:40from the couple. Officers later found Spencer and
- 30:42Monique dead inside of the residence.
- 30:44Of course, we found out that they first went to the wrong
- 30:47house. Several Co workers of Spencer, a
- 30:51dentist who practice at the clinic in Athens, called 911
- 30:54after he failed to show up for work and could not be reached.
- 30:56This makes me wonder like I I'm I'm impressed as all get out
- 31:06with these Co workers and friends who who said that this
- 31:12was just completely out of the ordinary that we can't reach
- 31:15either of them. But it also makes me wonder if
- 31:18they were aware of any issues that Monique was having with her
- 31:22ex-husband. I wonder that May maybe they
- 31:28were just like, oh, they got their Spidey sentence.
- 31:31As tingling Callers told dispatchers the lack of contact
- 31:36was out of character and raised concerns that something may have
- 31:38happened to the family, according to 911 calls released
- 31:41by authorities. Co workers reported being unable
- 31:44to reach either Spencer or Monique and said the situation
- 31:46was becoming increasingly concerning.
- 31:50Police initially checked the home but did not see anything
- 31:52suspicious. Additional 911 calls were made
- 31:55as coworkers and friends gathered at the house, reporting
- 31:57they could hear children inside but were unable to get anyone to
- 32:00answer the door. A friend later gained entry to
- 32:04the home and found Spencer's body.
- 32:05Police said both Spencer and Monique had been shot.
- 32:08That's the first time a report has actually said they gained
- 32:11entry to the home. I had wondered if they saw the
- 32:13kids through the window, saw the body through the window,
- 32:16something like that. Investigators said no weapon was
- 32:19found at the scene and there were no signs of forced entry.
- 32:22According to a Columbus police report, detectives found spent
- 32:279mm shell casings at the scene. OK, so there is some forensic
- 32:34evidence. Will they have found the gun as
- 32:37well? I hope so.
- 32:42January 2nd, Columbus police began seeking the public's help,
- 32:46asking that anyone who may have video, photos, or any other
- 32:50digital evidence related to the incident to submit it using a
- 32:53specialized QR code. The area in question ranged from
- 32:57Summit St. to N Grant Ave. and E 7th Ave. to E 11th Ave.
- 33:01Let's see what that looks like. Let me go over to the map real
- 33:05quick. Zoom in on it for you guys.
- 33:08Give me a second. OK, so what'd they say?
- 33:167th to 11th? So they were going from 7th Ave.
- 33:23all the way up to 11th Ave. and then Summit to N Grant.
- 33:30So N Grant over here on the east side and Summit can't tell which
- 33:39is Summit. I wonder if it's yeah, it's it's
- 33:44this big one right here marked with the 23.
- 33:47So they're they were saying basically this big square, they
- 33:51wanted as much video and photographic evidence as they
- 33:56possibly could as A and that's a great perimeter.
- 33:59I mean, their house is almost dead center in that right.
- 34:02Great perimeter. Man.
- 34:04I'm impressed with these police. The initial time frame police
- 34:08were interested in was midnight to 9:00 AM.
- 34:11Later that day, Spencer and Monique's family released a
- 34:14statement, it said. Our family is devastated by the
- 34:18tragic and senseless loss of Spencer and Monique.
- 34:20They were extraordinary people whose lives were filled with
- 34:23Lovejoy and deep connection to others.
- 34:25Spencer was a devoted and proud father, a loving partner and a
- 34:29friend to everyone he met. He was intelligent, warm, and
- 34:32endlessly welcoming. A graduate of The Ohio State
- 34:36University and a member of the American Dental Association,
- 34:39Spencer was fluent in Spanish and deeply committed to serving
- 34:43others. He gave back through Big
- 34:44Brothers Big Sisters. We watched a report on that that
- 34:47was just touching. A huge Bengals and Buckeyes fan
- 34:51and lived life with energy, laughter and generosity.
- 34:54Monique was a loving, patient and joyful mother whose warmth
- 34:58defined her. With a background in childhood
- 35:01education, she brought Karen intention.
- 35:03I love that word. Not just attention, but
- 35:05intention. And to everything that she did.
- 35:08That is something that we want all of our children to do is
- 35:12live with purpose. Don't we tell them you happen to
- 35:17life. Don't let life happen to you.
- 35:21Everything you should you do should be on purpose, should be
- 35:24intended, right? Even even if you fail at those
- 35:30things, at least you were at you were actively happening to life.
- 35:35And it looks like Monique was that way.
- 35:37She was an excellent Baker, a thoughtful planner, and someone
- 35:41who found joy in bringing people together.
- 35:42Her kindness made people feel instantly at home.
- 35:46Together, Spencer and Monique shared a beautiful, strong, and
- 35:49deeply happy relationship. They love to travel, to laugh,
- 35:53and to build a life rooted in love.
- 35:54They were proud parents of two beautiful children and their
- 35:57beloved Goldendoodle, and they created a home filled with
- 36:00warmth, happiness and connection.
- 36:02We are heartbroken beyond words. While no outcome can ever undo
- 36:06this loss, our family is committing is committed to
- 36:09seeing this tragedy fully and fairly brought to justice and to
- 36:12honoring Spencer and Monique by protecting the future of their
- 36:15children they loved so deeply. Speaking of that, I wonder.
- 36:25I wonder what the status of the Tempe Children's GoFundMe is.
- 36:33Looks like it's at about $198,000 now.
- 36:36And it looks like they bumped up their their goal to a quarter
- 36:41$1,000,000. So yeah, I'm, I'm happy that
- 36:46that is happening. OK, January 5th, police released
- 36:51video of a person of interest in the case.
- 36:53They said the individual was walking in an alley near Spencer
- 36:56and Monique's home between 2:00 AM and 5:00 AM, which narrowed
- 37:00their timeline in question. The footage does not clearly
- 37:04show the person's face, but investigators hoped someone
- 37:07would recognize their clothing, mannerisms or the way the person
- 37:11walks. And I described that as the
- 37:13person's gait. Spent too much time around
- 37:15horses, I guess. But he had a very specific gait.
- 37:21On the 8th, Columbus Division of Police Chief Elaine Bryant spoke
- 37:26about the investigation for the first time.
- 37:27We, we watched that yesterday. You can go back to yesterday's
- 37:32video to see that. Bryant shared the latest details
- 37:34of the investigation, including what happened in the initial
- 37:37welfare check of the Tepes on the 9th.
- 37:40The obituary and Funeral arrangements were released.
- 37:43Their families remember the couple as the life of the party
- 37:46and generous and kind hearts and that.
- 37:48And then of course, today, Mr. McKee, the ex-husband of Monique
- 37:55Tepi, was arrested in Illinois, booked into the Winnebago County
- 38:01Jail where he remains until he might be extradited, which is a
- 38:06process that involves the governors of two states.
- 38:09Not a not an easy thing. OK, Ubermensch, I'm having a
- 38:15problem with you man. Having a problem with
- 38:19Ubermensch, you know, Oh, you know what's happening.
- 38:22You know what's happening? My, my mods who would normally
- 38:32be here aren't here and Ubermensch is just having a hard
- 38:36time today. I do.
- 38:39I have a disgusting troll in the chat.
- 38:43Let's see if I can find him Let's see I just want to get rid
- 38:50of this guy or gal, whoever it is there it is all right, let's
- 38:59just go ahead and block ubermatch.
- 39:03OK, let's bring up Tepes here. I do That was a that was an
- 39:09interesting interesting. I I don't know why people do
- 39:13that kind of thing like what's the point?
- 39:15They just find joy in being dill holes, I guess.
- 39:20If only I had water in my dill hole cup that you can find on my
- 39:25website, by the way, if you want merch.
- 39:29Let's see moderators just yeah, the moderators didn't make it
- 39:32today because this is an abnormal time and I I didn't
- 39:37reach out to them. I was just so busy getting
- 39:39ready. So.
- 39:42So yeah, let's see what else is being said.
- 39:46Yeah, they're bored living in their mother's basement.
- 39:49Indeed. Tiff Knox is saying dill hole.
- 39:53Indeed. And yes, he is blocked.
- 39:57Just want to see if there's anything else that.
- 40:00Here we go. Just ducky says.
- 40:02Wonder if the four year old knew the guy and open the door for
- 40:05him. Well, he got there between two
- 40:09and five, though. I don't know.
- 40:12It's hard to say. I mean.
- 40:15Did he have a key? Could he pick locks?
- 40:18You know, you know, I don't know if you guys know this, but
- 40:21regular door locks are not all that secure at all.
- 40:27I'm I mean almost anybody with just a barely little bit of
- 40:31practice can pick just like a schlager kind of kind of kind of
- 40:37lock aim anyway, could be as simple as he didn't.
- 40:47He couldn't stand her being happy with someone other than
- 40:49him. Could be could be brumpy Brum
- 40:59gypsy blood. There we go Love your cap looks
- 41:01like a Peaky Blinder from Birmingham.
- 41:04I'm glad you are here. Thank you very much.
- 41:08See, if there's, I just want to make Lucy fair says My guess is
- 41:13he recently experienced A breakup or something that
- 41:16triggered him and he somehow blamed the victims for his
- 41:19failures. Yeah, could be.
- 41:21You're right. I mean, it doesn't really matter
- 41:23how accomplished somebody is. We're all we're all complex
- 41:28human beasts and have complex emotions, right.
- 41:38Oh, you're talking about the Co worker.
- 41:40Got it, got it. Yeah, possibly.
- 41:41Yeah, maybe that's how they got in.
- 41:45Second Beach Gal says on the bright side, you're very loved
- 41:48for having over 800 in the chat and one troll indeed.
- 41:51Thank you very much. That that made me feel better.
- 41:56Lucifer says. Did someone say the dog was
- 41:58locked in the kids room? Maybe the kids were also locked
- 42:00in there. We can only pray, I guess.
- 42:02Yeah, Misconduct says. I think he called Moe and she
- 42:07went to talk to him. He ambushed her and did the
- 42:09deed. We don't know where she was
- 42:11found. We don't.
- 42:14But my assumption, and maybe I shouldn't be assuming here, is
- 42:21that she also was in the house. Maybe not, though.
- 42:24It's possible. Maybe not.
- 42:28Cherish Brittany says. I'm going to get that cup.
- 42:31And also, sorry about the troll. Yeah, it's fine, people.
- 42:33Thank you very much. And thank you for supporting me
- 42:35that way. Oh, he may have been visiting
- 42:43from Zanesville for the holidays.
- 42:44Only an hour away. Oh, that's true.
- 42:46That's true. Maybe.
- 42:50Yeah, maybe he was just Zanesville.
- 42:54Dixie says they had a keypad lock.
- 42:56Oh, guys, listen, keypad locks are the worst and the easiest to
- 43:02get into. Do you guys, do you guys
- 43:03subscribe to our watch lock picking lawyer here on YouTube.
- 43:07It's one of my favorite channels.
- 43:09It's the it's the channel that got me into practicing lock
- 43:12picking. Yeah, don't, don't have low
- 43:15security keypad locks. They usually can be can be
- 43:21defeated with like just a simple neodymium magnet.
- 43:25Don't do those kinds of locks. Get get secure locks.
- 43:32Spencer had to leave for work early.
- 43:35He had a long drive. Maybe he was waiting outside for
- 43:37him to come out. Yeah.
- 43:39I mean, if if he was an early, say, he would needed to be at
- 43:43the office at 6:00 AM or something like that.
- 43:45That might that might be it. Yeah.
- 43:48Patricia Burns says. I bought that same hat for my ex
- 43:51for Christmas. Everyone told him he looked very
- 43:54distinguished. And I think you do, too.
- 43:55Thank you. This is not my only panel cap.
- 43:58I have a tweed one that I wear in the winter time, but it is A4
- 44:02panel hat. I think this one's an 8, this
- 44:06one's an 8 panel hat, and then I have a six panel hat.
- 44:08That is my summertime hat. I love it Lucifer says Gavin.
- 44:14Based on how afraid she was of him when she left him.
- 44:18I can't see her being OK with any contact from him if those
- 44:22rumors are true. Especially not a random visit in
- 44:24the night. Yeah, anybody coming in the
- 44:26middle of the night would would get your cockles up for sure.
- 44:32Gloria says that Spencer was shot in the bedroom.
- 44:35And I think that I think he he was definitely found in the
- 44:40bedroom. And yeah, Spencer's office was
- 44:4470 miles away, which could be more than an hour depending.
- 44:50I mean, Athens from Columbus to Athens.
- 44:54I mean, we can figure this out actually, because let me just
- 45:01look this up. It was called Athens Dental
- 45:05Depot. So if I open up maps and do 1411
- 45:14N 4th St. in Columbus directions to his office at Athens Dental
- 45:22Depot, that is an hour and 15 minutes according.
- 45:30Well, if it happened right now, right?
- 45:35If we said, I don't know, arrive by, let's say, 7:00 AM, then
- 45:44it's, like, typically an hour and 10 to an hour and 20
- 45:47minutes. Yeah.
- 45:48So it's quite a commute. Quite a commute.
- 45:52They must have really loved where they lived.
- 45:54Let me bring the Tepes back up here.
- 46:01Patricia Byrne says guys like the ex can become more and more
- 46:03enraged and resentful the more they see their lost love
- 46:06becoming happier and happier. Yeah.
- 46:10I mean, unfortunately that is that is true.
- 46:14I wonder if he had a silencer on some sort of of some sort on the
- 46:18gun. Yeah.
- 46:20With, with the ability to 3D print these things now, it's
- 46:25probably pretty easy to to procure something.
- 46:31Yeah. It's just.
- 46:33Let's see, somebody says Jean K says he must have been bubbling
- 46:40over for eight years. So either the resubmittal of a
- 46:44new battle over money or, like someone said, also a new breakup
- 46:47that pushed him over the edge, forced him to think the X's
- 46:50fault. Yeah.
- 46:52Keypad locks, glass front door. Yeah.
- 46:55I I mean, I don't want to blame. I don't want to blame our
- 47:00victims here. It's not, it's not their fault,
- 47:03but again, like an educated public is a healthy and helpful
- 47:06public, as as my niece Natalie said a couple days ago on this
- 47:11program. And one of the things that I
- 47:14just really want to do on this channel is learn as much as we
- 47:17possibly can. Right?
- 47:20When we moved into the house that we live in, I actually
- 47:23thought it was pretty ridiculous the amount of security that the
- 47:26previous owners had put on the House.
- 47:29These days I'm super grateful for it and and have added our
- 47:32own little touches as well. So yeah, it's silences,
- 47:41silencers aren't all that quite. It's not like a like you hear in
- 47:45the movies. It's still a percussive sound,
- 47:50but it does take a good, sometimes 30 BB off of the
- 47:54sound. And so if you're muffled, you're
- 47:56inside a residence, you're deep inside the house, it could, it
- 48:02could bring down the sound enough so that nobody heard it.
- 48:08And, and you're right, they're not silencers, they are
- 48:10suppressors. That's right.
- 48:12See if there's anything, anything else.
- 48:22Yeah. Anyway, guys, great comments
- 48:27today and thanks for being there when I decided to to go live on
- 48:31a Saturday. I don't typically do this, but
- 48:34with the breaking news on this case that that we care about, I
- 48:38thought it was important to break in.
- 48:41I will be back on Monday, 6:00 PM Eastern Time.
- 48:44If you're new here, I know that a lot of people are new here.
- 48:48If you like this kind of content, you like kind of my
- 48:51chill velvet voice of true crime.
- 48:55That's I I heard that description I thought was
- 48:57hilarious. But if you like the chill, not
- 49:00over sensationalized kind of stuff, this is a good channel to
- 49:03get it. And and I'm friendly with other
- 49:06channels that other channels that I love.
- 49:08I love grizzly, I love surviving the survivor.
