- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: All right, welcome back to the Jim business coach podcast and my host Tim lines back in the saddle back in sunny Scottsdale Arizona joined his always by Randy angst and what's up main.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_00]: We're doing.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, great weekend awesome travel great weather.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_01]: We're back in unbelievable just got back from the iron circle experience or Lando Florida
- 0:19[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to go on a limb as our best one ever, it's our best one ever.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_01]: We've been doing this for about four or five years.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'd have to go back and look, but we've gone anywhere from Sundance Utah to Maryland and Palm Springs to Mertal Beach and everywhere in between and we've had great speakers, great attendees, great events, and I got to be honest.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_01]: The reason this one was the best one ever is because we brought our two best speakers back Mr. Joey Coleman and Jeff Hoffman of price line.com and guys I get me honest it was it felt great to be in that room I felt really good to be in that room just kind of give you guys some background
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: The iron circle is our high-level mastermind.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's for gym owners that are trying to figure out what's next with their life.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_01]: Their gym's are humming.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: They feel like they're on an island.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: They surround themselves and get themselves into the room with higher-level thinkers, guys.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_01]: I'd be honest with you, if you're in a coaching group right now,
- 1:33[SPEAKER_01]: whoever's your end and you look around and that the conversations aren't stimulating enough to get you excited to go charging through the next week and the next month and the next year.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: If you're in a coaching group that you find yourself coaching the others more than you're getting out of the coaching yourself.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: It might be time for you to try a new room, and there's nothing wrong with that.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: I understand loyalty and I understand, like, hey, these guys got me to the where I'm at today, but at the same time, you know, there's levels and there's chapters of your life where you need to turn the page sometimes, and join another room, and we'd love for you guys to take a look at what we're doing, the iriscircle.net, you can take a look at that, the link
- 2:22[SPEAKER_01]: uh we rent out these beautiful properties we fly out uh top level best at best in industry speakers and when I say we bring out speakers I'm not saying we're doing a 60 minute keynote with some Q&A
- 2:39[SPEAKER_01]: These are full blown eight hour days of, you know, with a lunch break in the middle, a couple of breaks in between, but these guys are up here speaking to us presenting for four, five hours, and you know, they have lunch with us and it allows us to make sure that they we can deep dive into our business and get the hard work done.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_01]: So that when you go back on Monday morning, who got a game plan, and it's not like a Facebook ad, we talked about how to never lose an employee again.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: We've also done the never lose a customer.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: Again, we've done the, we have had you know, Wickedman come out and do the EOS.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_01]: Frameworks with us and breaking down all of our stuff.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: We've done Carrass negotiation.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_01]: So meta skills, global business skills,
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: And then we open up and we talk about our businesses and our lives and we have some fun too.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of the feedback is can always from every one of the events is while the speakers are world-renowned.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the information we get from those gentlemen and ladies and gentlemen are wild value.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: The conversation that takes place between Jim Owners, you know, after dinner before we're at breakfast.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's where I think
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: has a lot of those eye-opening moments.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you're talking with other people that are doing what you're doing.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: Some of which might be a couple of chapters ahead of you.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes you are the one giving a little bit of advice or pick up or, you know, helping somebody else navigate those challenges.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: But the room itself, the people in the group, in my opinion, bringing as much value as the speakers from, you know, that we're bringing in.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and there is a line in the sand.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: This isn't for, you know, the guy who's just getting off the ground and learning the ropes of the fitness business.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: These are tried and true gym owners, some of which have, you know, many, many locations, some of which have, you know, a single location that's doing incredible numbers.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: Some of which have spawned other businesses and other avenues outside of the fitness industry and have learned lessons that they're taking back to the fitness side of things and putting back into their business.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: But the value of the conversations throughout the entire weekend is to me it's mind blowing.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I love walking around and like just jumping in on some of those things and hearing what everyone's sharing.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's that's the stuff that in my opinion really
- 5:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and you know, a couple of that are of the sessions.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we didn't even get to the hot seats this time, but we've done hot seats in the past.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody kind of knows what those are, but needal movers was another good one that we did.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_01]: And then, you know, one of our coaches Lindsay Vastola, who used to be a member.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: She's graduated now being a coach.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: She's our leadership coach.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_01]: She helps us identify leadership issues and helping your staff, we do staff development.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_01]: You know, one of the things early on, and we'll go back to Lindsay here in a second.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_01]: One of the things early on that I noticed, you know, while we can coach the gym owners, a lot of times the gyms, gym owners themselves are so busy that it doesn't disseminate down into the team.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe halfway through like in the last couple of years that you know, like let's let's train the team.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: Let's train the leaders of the team through our fitness director here, which was Zach at the time.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_01]: He coached all the directors and then on top of that, Lindsay's coaching the teams.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so staff training continually.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so all team on that.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: So now we're not only we're working with the owner themselves.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_01]: We've got the leadership level and then we have the team level.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_01]: So like all three levels of a gym from the
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: owner to the management to the the staff and the team down that's delivering the the services.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: We coach everybody because look guys you can only get so far with the stuff doing yourself and then you don't obviously are owners are allowed to be on those calls as well, but they're like we took a that was the gap I saw I was like man
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's a lot more work for us, but if we're being honest, we need to get the directors up to speed and then the staff up to speed.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: So that's where Lindsey comes in and she kind of, you know, she trains our teams.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_01]: And
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: that's great.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: She did an exercise and kind of closed it out.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_01]: Kind of, I don't know, you can explain a little bit better than me, but it's pretty deep.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: The details of it.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: She took, she did this activity and presented it to the Jim owners in the room and it really re-invigorated the entire room.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, without,
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: getting into it, I mean, it put them all in a position to where they really grasp what it is the impact that they're making, how it is as the leader or the pinnacle of their business, some of that trickle down effect, and it was a massive eye opener.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there were tears of joy, there
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: It put everyone in a position to where going home, they're they're definitely doing it with an entirely different look and probably any of our other experiences.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, not only do we learn tactical actionable items from the speakers and from the the needle movers and things like that, but this was a little bit more of the the personal side of why we do what we do every new and that one hit home for everybody in that room.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, sure did.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: And how she pulled that off was, you know, my embalgling.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_01]: So we're excited to have Lindsey on our team.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: Um, be able to do that stuff.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_01]: Kind of think outside the box.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_01]: But it was great way to end it.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_01]: But in between, you know, obviously we have our own chef there.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: We took everybody to Epcot for the day.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: It was kind of a free day.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: Just got everybody passed the Epcot.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: Um,
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we brought a magician in comedian magician.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_01]: He's getting a bus in everybody's chops of season.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: And again, he was a.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: It was a repeat.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_01]: So we kind of went back and said, who was the best of the best and brought them all back?
- 8:55[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Jeff Hoffman, you know, more tears with him, you know, towards the end.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we just, there were some kind of comment things with the whole week.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: It was about, you know,
- 9:04[SPEAKER_01]: Staff engagement never losing a cost of work employees again Understanding the impact that you're making on your teams and in your and in their families and then the staff is or the the members as well your clients Really really good.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: I think everybody's coming back super fired up
- 9:21[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and one of the things we do is we made sure to have the content ready for people to listen to on the way home.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_01]: So we bring our own AV team, obviously Brian in the studio here with us.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_01]: He was there.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_01]: We got some cool reels banged out real quick so you kind of, we were trying to show the highlights as we were going on.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, I kind of stopped posting because I was just there, I wanted to enjoy it.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_01]: You know, show we miss some opportunities to show what we're doing, but at the same time, I'd rather be focused in present.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_01]: We did a bowling tournament, $1,000 prize cash was already given out.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, a little, you know, a little pool time, you know, campfire time, it was just, it was just great overall.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_01]: So that's what we do.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_01]: We do these experiences.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: We do these twice a year.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_01]: We do some virtual stuff.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_01]: We do monthly calls.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: We do quarterly, sprint and goals, sessions.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_01]: We do a ton of stuff in this group.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_01]: And sometimes we forget like, hey, all these resources, but in really the best and biggest resource of this entire group is the other members.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: the other members, everybody's everybody's been in the shoes at some level and look guys, if you even if they were facing something that nobody in the group has even faced before because that's going to come up sometimes as a group, we could all figure it out together because you're like, what would I do in that position?
- 10:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and we're doing this real time.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're doing real time.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: That's a huge takeaway.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: Um, the hot seats, things like that in the conversations, you know, people sharing what are what is happening in your, it's not again, it's business, but it's life that the group collectively can help you navigate and the best part of it all is it's almost like the second everyone walks into that room, their egos are dissolved, right?
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of times you find yourself in a room where if, or comparing it to other groups, we've heard this feedback is like,
- 11:23[SPEAKER_00]: If it doesn't align with the belief of the ownership of the group that you're in or the lessons that they're teaching, like there is no support for that type of thing.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: And this group is everybody wants to see each other win regardless.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_00]: And they'll go far beyond the expectation to deliver anything and everything that you need in order to win.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: And that collective, it's the rising
- 11:53[SPEAKER_00]: Again, our opinion is like that is the most valuable aspect of the group itself is and then the knowledge You know you've got Jim owners that are 20 year veterans 25 year veterans some of them have had you know 10 11 locations Trial and tribulations have opened up the second versus opening up the 15 like all at your point like every problem that
- 12:16[SPEAKER_00]: Jim owners are facing, somebody in that room has likely gone through it at some point.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: And if they haven't, then that's when we bring in, you know, everybody collectively to say, hey, cool, what do we, what do we believe we can, you know, you should be doing in this?
- 12:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_00]: And there's not, you know, it's an evolution.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes it starts and everyone in the rooms like, man, I don't know how to go about that.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: And then the conversation starts and by, you know, within a matter of 20, 30 minutes, the person who has that issue has a solution and can
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: uh to to no longer have that problem.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and in this industry or in any industry, I would say the owner, the guy or girl, running this show, the really doesn't have an outlet for discussing sensitive things.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_01]: Whether or not that's going on in their life or whether or not they're struggling at the gym or making amazing money.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: you know, look around your group like you listening right now like who could you talk to who can you even share the things that you're going through as an entrepreneur in many of you can't share with anybody your your parents you know while some of you have great relationships up some people don't have parents anymore which is you know which is understandable but like even like friends that are in the in their neighborhood like they don't get it you know they don't
- 13:39[SPEAKER_01]: The shit storm that you that you deal with so you could tell them no listen No, no, they're happy.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_01]: They don't get it, but like in a group like the iron circle You can share that stuff and there's like real connection like yeah, I know exactly what you're saying I understand what you're going through because here's you know, here's what I think, you know, and you could People don't have that kind of outlets or like having this group like this
- 14:03[SPEAKER_01]: allows these owners to have a release of, you know, either tension or what's going on their mind, but like celebration.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, celebrating when does a big one, right?
- 14:14[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I can't.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's very I can't even do this with my own parents like I can't go and show my dad I can but I can't like to my parents to say like look at the win that I just made that doesn't doesn't hit um you know love my mom the death but like she does not get it she doesn't understand
- 14:35[SPEAKER_01]: What this is and so like I came in tellers it was it's pointless just a school teacher for you know thirty five years Probably most she ever made was you know fifty thousand dollars a year and you know and so like when I share some of the stuff You know we're doing that we're doing that in two weeks, you know, it's like
- 14:53[SPEAKER_00]: How do you how do you like relate they just don't relate right so the journey of the entrepreneur right and if we were to look at Society as a whole the entrepreneurs are kind of the outliers right I heard consistently From some of the owners this weekend
- 15:10[SPEAKER_00]: that the people that they do share those things with parents, family, people in their their network, right?
- 15:16[SPEAKER_00]: Like they go to share some of those things and it's like, well, when you're going to get a real job, like what are you going to get that nine to five with the retirement and all that stuff?
- 15:23[SPEAKER_00]: And it's like, if you're given, if you, if the people you're speaking to think that way, they definitely don't understand you and your operation and how you think and the risk that you take as an entrepreneur.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_00]: And that's again, it's another reason to be in this room
- 15:40[SPEAKER_00]: are on the same path that you're on.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_00]: They're in, they feel those, those pain points, the shit storms, but they also, and it's weird, but like the celebration aspect, you know, you're building something that you should feel great about.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_00]: We're making impacts and in,
- 15:55[SPEAKER_00]: in your gym and your community.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_00]: And you can't just go, you can't go to your clients and talk about the successes that you've created.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_01]: You can't talk about that with people who can't, getting a post on your social because your clients might see it.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_01]: And then it comes a negative, we have a gym owner that's like,
- 16:13[SPEAKER_01]: You know, sharing some of those wins and like he's getting heat from his clients.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you're retired now.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it must be nice.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_01]: Like like that's that's a joke to them, but it's not funny.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's not funny.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_01]: Like you have no idea what it takes to get to this point.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_01]: You know, idea, you're, you just don't.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_01]: And so like you can argue with it, but like you just can't even share it.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_01]: So like having this outlet with this group, massive, that's like the, the things probably undervalued the most, but it's the most valuable.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: And so anyways, I won't harp on that too much, but like at the end of the day, most Jim motors don't have that circle that network.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_01]: This could be your group guys.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_01]: If this sounds interesting, we'd love to chat with you.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_01]: We're always growing, we're always doing cool stuff.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_01]: We've got to grow something coming up in June and in some other things happening between them, but
- 17:04[SPEAKER_01]: I love to chat with you if this is something you want to learn more about.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_01]: We have a landing page on your trickle.net.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_01]: You could check it out there or just book a call.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_01]: Let's chat about it.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see if it's good fit for you because we do some really cool stuff and we're always looking for cool gym owners that are doing cool stuff that you know not only bring in value but also get the value out of the groups.
- 17:27[UNKNOWN]: So
- 17:27[SPEAKER_01]: So hopefully that helps.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_01]: Just want to recap that amazing trip.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_01]: We just got back from a slip like a log first to nice.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_01]: Now we got to get back in the rhythm again.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_01]: But hopefully that helps you guys kind of reevaluate the groups you're in and the circles that you're in and keep changing lives.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see you guys on the next show.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_01]: Bye.
