Latest / True Crime with Gavin Fish / This Week’s Recap: Judge Kevin Mullins, Mickey Stines, Lilly & Jack Sullivan, Kada Scott, and More
Transcript
- 0:02Well, it has been a busy week here in our little true crime
- 0:08community. A lot has happened.
- 0:09We've covered a lot here on the channel and next week's going to
- 0:15be even busier, I think. Got a lot going on.
- 0:18So let's get started. It's Friday Recap.
- 0:35This video contains mature themes and discussions intended
- 0:38only for adult audiences. Viewer discretion is advised.
- 0:44Hello there, my friend. Welcome back to the channel.
- 0:46My name is Gavin. Thank you very much for being
- 0:48here for another true crime conversation.
- 0:51This is the second week in a row that we've just decided.
- 0:53I've just decided. Let's do a recap of the week,
- 0:56and I stole it from Courtroom Confidential.
- 0:58If we're going to be perfectly honest, I think it's such a
- 1:01great idea to just go through everything that we've talked
- 1:06about over the week. And this week has been a pretty,
- 1:10pretty busy 1. So what I thought we would do
- 1:14tonight is in one of my videos earlier this week, we touched on
- 1:21the Lily and Jack Sullivan case just a little bit.
- 1:24We're going to revisit that a little bit.
- 1:26Course, we are going to come back around to Kada Scott and
- 1:31then we are going to pivot over to judge Mullins and Mickey
- 1:36Stein's and talk a little bit about Lila Stein's.
- 1:41Just to just to wrap up the week.
- 1:45I actually was a guest on a national podcast earlier today.
- 1:51It'll it'll come out in the next couple of days to talk about
- 1:55young Miss Stein. So there's a little bit to talk
- 1:57about there, but why don't we start off where I will We will
- 2:03go left to right, shall we? Let's just go left to right and
- 2:07I want to come back around to this article here.
- 2:10OK. What we learned this week is
- 2:14that the RCMP unredacted several portions of documents that they
- 2:22had already released to the media, specifically because
- 2:27there was a lawsuit by several media outlets and they rather
- 2:33than wait for the court to give them an instruction to do it,
- 2:37they actually just went ahead and did it.
- 2:40Now, I've looked all over the place for those documents to
- 2:43actually read them and I haven't been able to get my hands on
- 2:46them quite yet. If you have been able to get
- 2:50your hands on it and you wouldn't mind, come on over to
- 2:54my website, gavinfish.com and let's get this up gavinfish.com
- 3:00and click on this little icon up here, which is little contact me
- 3:04icon and you can reach me this way.
- 3:07I haven't, I haven't kind of pitched this form in quite a
- 3:12while, but I on the daily I get dozens and dozens of messages.
- 3:16So, so and I read them all. So if you have anything that
- 3:20you'd like me to see on Jack and Lily's case, this is where to do
- 3:24that. Also there is a Dropbox link in
- 3:29the description below if ever you want to drop anything that
- 3:33you want me to see. It ends up not being
- 3:36confidential and you it. I can't make it anonymous just
- 3:44because of the the Dropbox technology.
- 3:48If you ever want to send me something anonymous, you can
- 3:53head on over to the support me page and there is my address, PO
- 3:56Box one O 4 Franklin PA. OK, you're not seeing that There
- 4:00it is right there. So wow, did you did I even did I
- 4:07have that like hidden? I did there.
- 4:10There's my address, PO Box one O 4 Franklin, PA, and then this is
- 4:14the contact me page. If you just click up on this
- 4:16little icon here. OK, so I haven't been able to
- 4:22get my hands on the actual documents, but I do want to
- 4:26revisit this article that we read a couple of days ago.
- 4:29Well, we didn't read this specific article that this one
- 4:32came out day before yesterday. There are Jack and Lily's
- 4:35beautiful little faces. This article says a few slim
- 4:40details released by the RCMP about their investigation into
- 4:43the disappearance of Jack and Lily Sullivan have rekindled
- 4:46online speculation. And remember guys, this case is
- 4:51one that I mean, it's been since May, it was in May that these
- 4:57two kiddos went missing out of their home in in Nova Scotia,
- 5:04that this is this is where they lived right here and they lived
- 5:08in the in the mobile home there in front.
- 5:10Their grandmother lived back in the in the RV back there by the
- 5:18by the chicken coop. You know, there's a little swing
- 5:20set and stuff back there. There's a little closer view of
- 5:24that area. This is this is where they
- 5:26lived. And apparently they, their
- 5:30parents say they heard them playing.
- 5:34Their parents are Malia Brooks Murray and her partner David
- 5:39Martel. This is this kind of captured
- 5:43the world. 2 little kiddos like this going missing.
- 5:46It's really tough for us to take right?
- 5:48And when there are this many eyeballs on a case, I mean,
- 5:53think of Kada Scott, think of Kada Scott right now, right when
- 5:57Kada Scott went missing. Thankfully, because it seems, it
- 6:02seems like Kada Scott doesn't meet the the criteria for
- 6:06usually people caring, right? She is of African descent.
- 6:12She's from the city. You know, she didn't get a lot
- 6:16of she she normally wouldn't have gotten a lot of eyeballs.
- 6:19I'm not sure what it was that got eyeballs on her.
- 6:22Perhaps it was, I mean, honestly, perhaps it was just
- 6:25her beauty that made everybody want to find Katie Scott.
- 6:30But with that many eyeballs, with that many eyeballs, her
- 6:35remains were thankfully found. But Lily and Jack, no, it has
- 6:41been since May and we still don't have any idea what
- 6:49happened to these little creaturas, right?
- 6:51So let's go back over to this little article.
- 6:56OK, so rekindled online speculation, of course, that is
- 7:00not untrue. But the newly redacted sections
- 7:04of RCMP, it should say unredacted sections of RCMP
- 7:09warrants don't provide any answers to what happened to the
- 7:122 Pictou County children who were reported missing by their
- 7:15mother, Malia Brooks Murray, on May 2nd.
- 7:19Also, witness statements contained in them are not
- 7:22corroborated by other evidence. And we're going to get into what
- 7:26those statements are. I, I don't need to characterize
- 7:30it. In response to a court challenge
- 7:32by The Canadian Press, The Globe and Mail and CBC in September,
- 7:36the RCMP unsealed added sections of the warrant documents, which
- 7:40lay out much of their extensive investigation up to late May.
- 7:45Again, nothing past late May with court looming where the
- 7:52media was going to seek more redactions be lifted.
- 7:54The RCMP voluntary lifted more, but not all, of the redactions
- 7:57last week. The formerly redacted
- 8:00information includes statements by two people who live near the
- 8:04rural property in Lansdowne Station that Jack, four, and
- 8:07Lily, 6, shared with their mother, stepfather Daniel
- 8:12Martel, and his mother Janie McKenzie.
- 8:15Once again, this is, this is where they were living, very
- 8:20rural seems to be a, you know, a poorer socioeconomic situation
- 8:28for these kiddos. That doesn't matter, of course,
- 8:32does not matter. It's just just, you know, kind
- 8:35of talking about their living situation.
- 8:39Their value is the same value as you and me and we care about
- 8:44them, though we, most of us have never met them, right.
- 8:49OK. Another area resident told
- 8:51police that about 1:30 AM on May 2nd, he heard a car on Hwy. 289
- 8:56which runs past Jack and Lily's home, then turn around by the
- 8:59railroad tracks near the area of Garlick Road and lands down
- 9:03Station Road. The vehicle stopped making noise
- 9:05for a few minutes, then headed on toward Lehrig Rd.
- 9:09Speculation in chat rooms and among self declared sleuths.
- 9:12This is really funny. That's that's a jab right?
- 9:15Because in order to be a sleuth does anybody have to declare it
- 9:20any is there? Is there a certificate that one
- 9:22must get? No.
- 9:25But So that's a little bit of a jab.
- 9:26That's poor. I shouldn't have got past an
- 9:29editor. But anyway, operating YouTube
- 9:32channels feeding into an international obsession with the
- 9:35case is that this contradicts the version of events told by
- 9:39police by both. Told police, by both Martel and
- 9:42Brooks Murray that the children were put to bed around 9:00 PM
- 9:46on May 1 and that no one left the house until this morning.
- 9:51The morning. OK.
- 9:53Yeah, yes, speculation in chat rooms and among self declared
- 9:59salutes operating YouTube channels feeding into an
- 10:01international obsession with the case is that this contradicts
- 10:04the version. Well, it does contradict
- 10:07contradict the version. That's really funny, but I think
- 10:12police found it to be untrue, right or, or unfounded.
- 10:16They, they couldn't corroborate it.
- 10:17The children were last seen in public the previous afternoon,
- 10:20the first based on security footage from a Pictou County
- 10:23Dollarama. What's a dollarama?
- 10:26Is that like a dollar store, a Dollar General or something like
- 10:29that? The RCMP followed up on the
- 10:32statements, looking at security and hunting camera footage
- 10:34obtained from properties in the area.
- 10:36Quote, investigators conducted a thorough review, thorough review
- 10:44of surveillance footage from the Garlic Rd. area during the early
- 10:47hours of May 2nd and found no evidence of any vehicle activity
- 10:50at the time, reads a statement from the RCMP.
- 10:53Yeah, as such, no driver has been identified and the presence
- 10:57of a vehicle has not been substantiated as a key element
- 11:00in the investigation. Sorry, I'm getting a text from
- 11:06somebody. I want to make this.
- 11:07This actually is something that we're going to want to share
- 11:09later on, so don't let me forget I need to share the text.
- 11:13OK, so the presence of a vehicle has not been substantiated as a
- 11:18key element of the investigation.
- 11:20The RCMP have received over 600 tips and have followed up on
- 11:24each. Brooks, Murray and Martel told
- 11:28the RCMP independently that on the morning of May 2nd, they
- 11:31were in bed with their baby Meadow.
- 11:34They said they could hear Jack and Lily playing in the kitchen
- 11:37and that Lily at multiple points looked into the bedroom after a
- 11:42period of not hearing the children.
- 11:44That little detail, that little detail I think is new to me.
- 11:49That Lily at multiple points looked into the bedroom.
- 11:52I don't remember that detail, but OK.
- 11:58After a period of not hearing the children, Martel went to
- 12:00check on them, but they were gone, along with their boots and
- 12:04Lily's backpack. A wrench he'd wedged in the top
- 12:12of the front door the night before to prevent a black bear
- 12:14from pushing it open was still there, meaning the only other
- 12:18way out was a sliding door at the back.
- 12:22OK, I just, and the author really just kind of glossed over
- 12:28that. And this is a place where you
- 12:31need to protect yourself from black bears pushing in the door.
- 12:36We actually get little black bears on my street.
- 12:39I've seen them twice now, and I think my sister has seen them
- 12:42once, too. We get little bears, little
- 12:44black bears. But certainly they don't try to
- 12:49push in our our door anyway. So the other way out was the
- 12:53sliding door at the back. Excuse me?
- 13:01Martell's mother, Janie McKenzie, who lived in the
- 13:03backyard in a camper, said she heard the children playing
- 13:05outside that morning, fallen back asleep and awoke to Martell
- 13:09calling their names. So at about 10:00 AM, Brooks
- 13:15Murray called 911, leading to a massive search of the woods,
- 13:18roads and waterways near the home.
- 13:19In the following days, RCMP Major Crime would begin a large
- 13:24investigation that continues. The released warrant
- 13:27applications are for GPS tracking, data, communication
- 13:31and other records from the cell phones of Martel and Mother
- 13:35Brooks Murray. It's interestingly worded.
- 13:40Malia video recordings from school buses operating in the
- 13:44area, electronic records from companies in Montreal, Toronto,
- 13:48Halifax, whose names and purposes are redacted.
- 13:50I speculate there and this is only speculation, that that
- 13:54might be airlines, that might be, I don't know, transportation
- 14:00companies, logistics companies or something like that.
- 14:04But we don't know. Banking records of Martel and
- 14:06Brooks Murray text plus messages from May 1 and two of three
- 14:10redacted phone numbers in other parts of the warrants Brooks
- 14:13Murray is said to have used text plus video recordings from the
- 14:20How does one say that Kobe, Kobe Quid or Kobe kid pass toll
- 14:24booths? So looking to see if the kids
- 14:27maybe we're taken past the tollbooths and closed circuit
- 14:31television footage from a redacted location six months
- 14:34after Jack and Lily's disappearance.
- 14:35If the RCMP, if the RCMP has clues as to what happened to the
- 14:40children, they're keeping them close to their vests.
- 14:43So that is our update on little Jack and Lily.
- 14:47Let's bring up some other photos real quick and go to your
- 14:51comments here. Let me remember, if you put GF
- 14:58in the comment I will see it. OK, channel do a show.
- 15:11Let's see, did the Behavior channel do a show on the
- 15:19boyfriend of the mom? I don't know.
- 15:21I don't know. Rocks and raccoons with Auntie
- 15:27Jen. I'm glad you're here.
- 15:28Thanks for being here. Gavin, can you cover Melody
- 15:35Buzzard case from Santa Barbara County, California?
- 15:38Yeah, If you will send me details, Emmy.
- 15:41I will take a look. I don't know if I will cover it
- 15:45or not. Cooler by the lake, says Gavin.
- 15:50I do remember that detail about Lily coming into the bedroom
- 15:53several times. OK, I didn't remember that
- 15:57speculation that the kids wanted to go to school and may have set
- 16:00out on foot after getting no response from their parents.
- 16:02That's right. That's right, Kelly says.
- 16:06I think the neighbors are suspicious.
- 16:07Like they have like, why? What is their reason for saying
- 16:12those things? You know, what's funny is that
- 16:16witnesses are actually kind of kind of unreliable, right?
- 16:22It's, and it could possibly be that there were people that that
- 16:28card did that thing, but maybe it's not even connected anywhere
- 16:32remotely to the case. Tyler says.
- 16:37Vacation in the mountains where my granddaddy grew up, they got
- 16:40these huge hefty bungies on the trash cans for the bears.
- 16:44I had never seen that till last time I went up there.
- 16:47Yeah. At homes up in like South Lake
- 16:50Tahoe or in the whole, the greater Lake Tahoe region, I
- 16:53guess from when I was a kid. There are bear proof containers
- 16:58for your trash and stuff like that.
- 17:01Where they live, of course there were talking, there are black
- 17:04bears as well, but they're talking like big brown bears,
- 17:08big California brown bears. Kelly Dobson says.
- 17:14Gavin, it appears the neighbors were dishonest.
- 17:16Why? They were also charged with
- 17:18breaking and entering and stealing from surrounding
- 17:21properties. Awesome.
- 17:22Maybe they were, they were putting the the police on a wild
- 17:28goose chase. OK, Emmy, yeah, I, I see your
- 17:34comment. Please, please, please send me
- 17:38the information by going to gavinfish.com.
- 17:41I think it's probably still up and using this, this contact me
- 17:44form. OK.
- 17:45Give me as much information as you can, including links if you
- 17:49can do it, because missing people, missing children
- 17:53especially, that's important. OK.
- 17:56So, yes. All right.
- 18:02So that is our update on Lily and Jack Sullivan.
- 18:06So where do we go next? OK, let's head over to the Cater
- 18:10Scott case. And I actually got a document in
- 18:14from the court today that I just wanted to share with you guys.
- 18:20This is the same kind of document.
- 18:24Where am I going? There we go that we have on the
- 18:30previous cases of of Keon King. Just a quick little recap.
- 18:35Kata Scott, 23 year old Philadelphia woman, I understand
- 18:40she was a graduate of Penn State at the very least from what I'm
- 18:43reading. She attended Penn State, was
- 18:47working in an assisted living facility, had only been working
- 18:50there a couple of weeks when she kind of stepped out from her job
- 18:56and nobody ever saw her ever again.
- 18:58Her remains were found a couple weeks later.
- 19:02The the person who is charged with her murder is this man, a
- 19:09man named Keon King. Now, let me let me show you the
- 19:14this is the new set of documents that came out of the
- 19:21Philadelphia Municipal Court course.
- 19:24His preliminary hearing is still scheduled for the 10th of
- 19:28November. I do not think that I'm going to
- 19:31be able to go and do that one guys.
- 19:33But and there are no cameras allowed in Pennsylvania courts.
- 19:38And so when that happens, we will have to cover it based on
- 19:42the coverage from the media, which is no problem.
- 19:46OK, bail has been set as without bail right there and we kind of
- 19:55Scroll down. This is I think this is the they
- 20:04call this PARSI don't know why they call it that, but it it's
- 20:08basically a courtroom document that is mostly left empty.
- 20:12Here are the official charges that have been added.
- 20:17Robbery, murder, you'll notice that in state of Pennsylvania,
- 20:23we have like most states, we have a grading system of
- 20:29felonies and misdemeanors. But when it when it comes to
- 20:31homicide, it is felonious for sure, but it is always graded as
- 20:37homicide as its own thing. So, so it looks like he's got
- 20:44two felonies plus the murder and then 12345678 misdemeanors
- 20:51including abuse of corpse, obstruction of justice,
- 20:55tampering with evidence and so forth.
- 20:58Here is the criminal complaint. This is the one that I want to
- 21:00show you guys that the affidavit of probable cause should be
- 21:05bigger than this. But we did read the affidavit
- 21:07yesterday and it gave us lots of information.
- 21:11We don't need to hash, hash that all over.
- 21:15But we did have one question about her cause of death.
- 21:20It had been reported that she died from a gunshot wound to the
- 21:24head. That was reported by both 6 ABC
- 21:31and NBC 10 and Fox 29. I believe in in Yeah.
- 21:39Anyway, the Fox affiliate, the ABC affiliate, the NBC affiliate
- 21:43in Philadelphia all reported that on the criminal complaint.
- 21:48Now we have The acts committed by the accused were on or about
- 21:52October 4th in the area of 6199 Ardley St. in the city and
- 21:56county of Philadelphia. The defendant, Mr. King,
- 22:00intentionally, knowingly, recklessly or negligently caused
- 22:04the death of K to stop Scott by shooting her with a firearm,
- 22:09which the defendant is statutorily prohibited from
- 22:13possessing. So it doesn't confirm the head
- 22:20part, but it does confirm the bullet wound, like the gunshot
- 22:25wound, and it does confirm that he is prohibited from possessing
- 22:31A firearm. I think that that had been that
- 22:33part had been confirmed to be 4, but you know, it's, it's in this
- 22:41in this document. I don't think there's any other
- 22:43detail. Oh, and of course, the all the
- 22:49charges while I was at it, I did go to the court website to the
- 22:53UJS and I just downloaded the docket as of today, it looks
- 23:00like, I mean, all of the cases are tied together.
- 23:05They will all be handled probably in the same preliminary
- 23:09hearing. He was arraigned yesterday at
- 23:1312:37 PM. He is scheduled for a
- 23:17preliminary hearing on the 10th of November in front of Judge
- 23:21Christine Hope at 9:00 AM in room 3O6 there at the at the
- 23:27historic Philadelphia Courthouse.
- 23:30It does not say where he is confined, though.
- 23:34I think Autumn was able to, to find that out.
- 23:37Maybe Autumn, you can put that in a comment again.
- 23:41I, I think I can actually, while we're just here, let me just
- 23:46look the, the Commonwealth has an inmate and parolee locator.
- 23:54So Autumn, I'm not going to make you do this.
- 23:56I can do this right now. Keon King and was there another
- 24:04doesn't have a middle name listed.
- 24:08His date of birth. We do know his date of we should
- 24:11know his date of birth from this one. 562 thousand 450-6204.
- 24:21And let me see if I can bring it up here.
- 24:24It's not showing. It's not showing where he is.
- 24:28So let me just do a simpler search.
- 24:31Keon King. Search.
- 24:40Let me just do one more type of search.
- 24:52Yeah, so I'm not able to find it.
- 24:55The and the docket just says that that he's at a county
- 25:03Correctional Facility of another jurisdiction and that he's still
- 25:08in custody. Of course, it also shows his for
- 25:13some reason, they don't they don't show the grade on this
- 25:18document, which they always do in district and Commonwealth,
- 25:23not Commonwealth District Court and well, the county courts
- 25:33blanking on, on the name of the court.
- 25:35But in Philadelphia Municipal, for some reason, they don't keep
- 25:38the grade on there. And yeah, it's just we're
- 25:43proceeding. The next thing is going to be at
- 25:46the on the November 10th date. So that's where we are on that.
- 25:52Let's bring up Kata's photo one more time.
- 25:54See what you guys are saying over here.
- 25:58Autumn says Philadelphia Department of Corrections.
- 26:05OK, use Vinelink. Vinelink is a better way to do
- 26:10that. You know what that is?
- 26:12Brilliant, Autumn. Well done.
- 26:16Well done. Yeah.
- 26:21So any thoughts on the case? I'd love to hear it.
- 26:23In fact, at the end here, why don't we do AQ and A?
- 26:26Now? I've got a sneeze.
- 26:27I've got all the. I've got yawns.
- 26:31I've got sneezes. I've got A.
- 26:35Not a professional. Not a professional.
- 26:38All right, let's go back over here.
- 26:40Oh, OK. So the next one we're going to
- 26:42talk about is let me let me get this all set up here.
- 26:49Give me just a second. Here we go.
- 27:12I'm just going to skip ahead and see.
- 27:17Yeah, OK, All right, so we got that ready.
- 27:21Your guys are like, dude, fish, get it on.
- 27:24All right, for let's let's move into Mickey Stein's Kevin
- 27:29Mullins here for a second. Of course, we had Elizabeth
- 27:32Jones on with us last night who talked a lot about all the stuff
- 27:37that's going on, the corruption that's going on there in Letcher
- 27:40County. But while one of the things that
- 27:43we didn't get to, not in detail anyway, is this, which is the
- 27:51complaint of Kimberly Mullins, who is the widow of Judge Kevin
- 27:59Mullins. Let me bring up, this is Judge
- 28:04Mullins here. He was murdered by Mickey
- 28:09Stein's on video. He was shot 9 times.
- 28:13And yeah, so I mean, we all know that story and it's a crazy
- 28:18story, but wrong button fish. It's OK, we can go to here.
- 28:25All right, so this is a a lawsuit that was filed against
- 28:34from Kimberly Mullins and all. One, she is Judge Mullins widow,
- 28:402, she is the administratrix of the estate.
- 28:43And three, she is the parent of his two surviving daughters,
- 28:50their their two daughters. It is against Sean Steins, that
- 28:54is Mickey Steins, Jason Eccles who was a deputy to Mr. Steins,
- 29:02La Shawna Frazier who worked in the office and Christine Bowling
- 29:08who also worked in the office. Now, by the way, when we go
- 29:12through, when we go through the documents in the Sabrina Adkins
- 29:19case, there is so much in there in terms of messages, text,
- 29:26Facebook messages, things like that between Mickey Steins and
- 29:31Jason Echols, who is one of the deputies working for him.
- 29:36And I mean, this office was this office was a mess.
- 29:42It was an absolute mess in terms of professionalism, might say
- 29:48decorum. So there's a lot of that.
- 29:54OK, now I want to I want to just kind of skip down.
- 29:59We're not going to do this whole thing.
- 30:01The first one. So this is a let me bring this
- 30:04up. This is a this is a lawsuit.
- 30:07This is a civil matter. Count 1 is that on or about
- 30:11September 19th, Sean Stein's intentionally and without
- 30:14privilege or justification placed Judge Mullins in eminent
- 30:17apprehension of harmful contact and made harden full contact by
- 30:21shooting and killing Judge Kevin Mullins in his judicial
- 30:24chambers. Stein's actions were undertaken
- 30:27willfully, wantonly, maliciously, and or with
- 30:30reckless disregard for the rights and safety of the
- 30:33plaintiffs. As a result of this intentional
- 30:36assault and battery, Judge Mullins succumbed to his
- 30:38injuries and lost his life. Oh, perfect, perfect.
- 30:49OK, I've. I've got another text.
- 30:51It's going to be great. We, we've got some announcements
- 30:53at the end of the show today. So, yeah, that's basically the
- 31:01case. The.
- 31:02I guess the complaint against Mickey Stein's, which seems
- 31:06reasonable. Now the count 2.
- 31:08This is where I think it gets interesting.
- 31:10Is the negligence they allege of Jason Echols.
- 31:16So on or about the 19th, Sean Steins intentionally shot and
- 31:19killed Judge Mullins. Prior to the 19th, Steins
- 31:23exhibited concerning and dangerous behavior, including
- 31:27but not limited to anxious, paranoid, and psychotic conduct
- 31:31that posed A foreseeable risk of violence.
- 31:34Now, you know what's very interesting, what's very
- 31:37interesting about this to me is that in her lawsuit, Kimberly
- 31:45Mullins is telling the court and the world, because they're
- 31:50public documents that Mickey Steins was acting anxious and
- 31:59paranoid and other and other psychotic and exhibiting other
- 32:05psychotic behaviors. I think this might be used as an
- 32:08exhibit in court for the the criminal case.
- 32:12I mean, but anyway, basically she is saying he was negligent.
- 32:21The Letcher County Sheriff's Office buying through his
- 32:23agents, servants and or employees is mandated by
- 32:27Kentucky law to attend the circuit and district Courts of
- 32:30the Commonwealth, preserve the peace, provide courthouse and
- 32:33courtroom security, and protect judges of the Commonwealth of
- 32:35Kentucky. The duties upon imposed upon
- 32:38Eccles and the Letcher County Sheriff's Office with respect to
- 32:41providing courthouse and judicial security were
- 32:45ministerial in nature involving obedience to orders set forth by
- 32:48statute, blah, blah, blah. Defendant Eccles, as an agent or
- 32:52an employee of Electric County Sheriff's Office, had a special
- 32:55relationship with Judge Mullins and had a duty to warn Judge
- 32:58Mullins of Defendant Stein's dangerous propensities.
- 33:03Eccles was aware or in the exercise of reasonable care,
- 33:06should have been aware of the concerning and dangerous
- 33:09behavior of defendant Stein's and failed to take proper
- 33:11precautions and or to appropriately warn Judge Mullins
- 33:15of this concerning and dangerous behavior.
- 33:17Defendant Echols as an agent, blah, blah, blah, had a duty to
- 33:23control Stein's. So they're alleging, hey, they
- 33:27needed to warn the judge, they needed to control Mickey
- 33:30Stein's. So that is basically what
- 33:34they're saying. Same kind of thing.
- 33:36Negligence of Lashawna Frazier, right That he exhibited this
- 33:40weird behavior that she is required, she has the duties,
- 33:46she's an employee of the Sheriff's Office.
- 33:48She had the duty to warn Judge Frazier.
- 33:51Judge Mullins. She had, let's see, Defendant
- 33:59Frazier, 35, was aware or in the exercise of reasonable care,
- 34:03should have been aware of the concerning and dangerous
- 34:05behavior of defendant Steins and failed to take proper
- 34:08precautions and or to appropriately warn Judge
- 34:11Mullins. Yeah.
- 34:15And then to control defendant Stein's.
- 34:18Yeah. So same thing to Lashawna, same
- 34:21thing to Christine Bowling. So that is the complaint.
- 34:25Now the defense has filed a motion to dismiss, which is just
- 34:32kind of par for the course. That definitely has to happen.
- 34:37But I it makes me wonder if Jeremy and Carrie Bartley will
- 34:41use something like this. Like, hey, even Judge Mullen's
- 34:44widow is saying that he was cuckoo, You know, at the time he
- 34:51was having a hard, hard time. Like to see what you guys think
- 34:59here, Mooney. You guys aren't talking very
- 35:03much today, but Mooney brings up something that is.
- 35:08Yeah. I mean, what a great comment.
- 35:11No one in that office had any law enforcement training.
- 35:16No one in that office, including Mickey Steins, had not gone to
- 35:20an Academy. He had been grandfathered in.
- 35:23And these, I mean, these guys treated it like they were in a
- 35:27high school locker room. They they honestly did.
- 35:30It was, it was, it was bad. And you can go through those
- 35:34documents. I haven't posted those anywhere.
- 35:37I probably should make a Judge Mullins.
- 35:40Judge Mullins case page. Oh, it's just so much work.
- 35:46It's just so much work. But I probably should.
- 35:53Yeah. Just Ducky sounds like they're
- 35:54confirming his insanity plea. Autumn asking how would they
- 35:59know what he was going to do, right?
- 36:05I don't know. I don't know.
- 36:11Heather whatever says that she agrees with Autumn unless
- 36:13someone said they would do something like that.
- 36:16Who could predict? Yeah, Robin says.
- 36:20Oh, it's because I'm quiet today.
- 36:22I'm not out there cutting jokes and other random ideas.
- 36:24That's true. Robin is usually our
- 36:25troublemaker, which I say, tongue planted firmly in cheek.
- 36:31We love our mods. Do we not love our mods?
- 36:33Our mods are amazing. All right.
- 36:38Ah, OK. So the last thing, it's actually
- 36:42second to last thing that I want to show you guys is about Lila
- 36:46Stein's. Now, look, I've had a little
- 36:50time to process my feelings. OK?
- 36:56Little time to process my feelings and I was a little bit
- 37:02little hurt by her telling people like me that we need to
- 37:07go get a job, especially when this is such a hard job to do
- 37:10anyway. But I've thought about it.
- 37:14She's 18 years old. She is living in a new reality
- 37:19that is very, very difficult. And I'm actually kind of warming
- 37:23to the idea of like this girl's amazing.
- 37:26She's coming out and she's saying hard things.
- 37:30So I actually don't feel. I don't I don't.
- 37:34I've gotten over my butt, butt heartedness and and feel better
- 37:42about things. Now what I want to show you is
- 37:47this wrong button this there we go.
- 37:53This is on lawn crime. This is and Jeanette Levy's
- 37:58podcast. She it's called crime fix with
- 38:01and Jeanette Levy and Jeanette is amazing.
- 38:04By the way, I love her to death. She is terrific.
- 38:07This was published what 40 minutes ago and if you scroll on
- 38:11in, let's see if we can find a there is Oh, and I just I found
- 38:17like the perfect spot. There we go.
- 38:19That's a little bit better. There is that long haired hippie
- 38:23wannabe Gavin Fish with his daughter's headband in his head,
- 38:28in his hair. So yeah, I was so grateful that
- 38:31Anjanette invited me on and we got to talk a little bit about
- 38:36Lila. I will paste the link into the
- 38:40live chat and I will put it into the description below here in
- 38:43just a minute. In fact, I think I can just
- 38:49let's see, I will put it in the description right now at Law and
- 39:01Crime Network appearance. There we go.
- 39:06All right. So I've just put that in the
- 39:10description so that you guys can see it if you want.
- 39:12I will also share it on all the other socials.
- 39:14But that's pretty cool. Pretty cool that that I got to
- 39:18do that. And yeah, I think Lila, I think
- 39:22I don't know that I have it up. Let me let me bring up Judge
- 39:26Mullins here. I don't think that she's done
- 39:29any more than the three videos that she had up yesterday.
- 39:36Yep, just the three videos though they are, they are
- 39:39climbing and in views. She has 1.8 million views on her
- 39:46first 162, 1000 on her second, 44,000 on her third.
- 39:51I, I hope that she is finding a platform for herself and I, I
- 39:57think that she presents herself well.
- 39:59I think she's in a unique situation and I would encourage
- 40:04her to continue to talk about this stuff, being very careful
- 40:08to protect her dad's case because we want a fair trial.
- 40:13Everybody wants a fair trial of Mickey Stein's, right?
- 40:17All right, so with that, let's bring up Mickey's photo here and
- 40:22see if you guys are saying anything else Kell says.
- 40:29I think she's handling things with quite a bit of grace,
- 40:32considering how she's been such a gossip target.
- 40:35I agree. I agree.
- 40:37And yeah, I mean, I, I don't think I can say it any better
- 40:43than that. I think that I mean, and here's
- 40:47the other stuff, like she's got good lighting and she's prepared
- 40:50herself well and she's speaking well and she's got that cute
- 40:53little Southern accent. I think that she has done
- 40:57terrifically and I hope that I hope that she continues.
- 41:03I really do. OK, So last couple things that I
- 41:07want to tell you guys, just a little housekeeping for the
- 41:11channel. OK, I like this Little Friday
- 41:14recap. I really do.
- 41:21Let's see. Oh, I need to, I need to fix
- 41:23something for my day job here too, but I just want to get a
- 41:27confirmation here. Perfect.
- 41:33Confirmed. OK, so that's confirmed.
- 41:46All right, so next week I, I'm taking Saturday, Sunday off as I
- 41:54always do, but here on the channel next week we're going to
- 41:57have at least 2 special guests on Wednesday.
- 42:00I am welcoming. I, I should have up a graphic,
- 42:03but I don't. Let me, let me see if I can let
- 42:08me bring this up. Make sure that we're muted on
- 42:15this tab. OK, yeah, there we go.
- 42:18So next week on Wednesday, I am welcoming my old buddy Cheryl
- 42:26and Dale is a guest on the show. And that should be a fun
- 42:29conversation because Cheryl and I did a podcast together called
- 42:32Murder Between Friends. It was short lived because we
- 42:35just had a hard time getting guests and stuff like that, but
- 42:38she is one of my favorite people in the world.
- 42:40She and I both looked into the David Elmquist case together and
- 42:43we are just coming together. We call it Bestie Babble.
- 42:47We're just going to be chatting. So if you guys have any like
- 42:50think about it. I mean, she's a she's a big
- 42:52deal. She's a big deal.
- 42:54She's got a terrific channel and and she's got a couple of really
- 42:58great podcasts. Think does she have links to her
- 43:02podcasts here? Dang it, Cherylin.
- 43:06But anyway, so Cherylin's going to be coming on Wednesday on
- 43:12Thursday. Let me, I should have brought
- 43:21this up, but it wasn't confirmed until just a couple moments ago.
- 43:28But on Thursday, my guest will be Joseph Scott Morgan, who is a
- 43:38medico legal death investigator. We've had him on the show
- 43:40before. I have questions for Joseph
- 43:44about Kada Scott. I also have questions for Joseph
- 43:48about the Ellen Greenberg so-called independent report.
- 43:54So back-to-back Wednesday, Cheryl and Dale, Thursday,
- 43:58Joseph Scott Morgan. It is going to be a terrific
- 44:03week and I'm looking forward to it.
- 44:05I hope you are too Robin Bernard, he says please let it
- 44:10be JSMI, didn't I? Didn't disappoint did I?
- 44:16Did I? Mooney saying Cherylin yay happy
- 44:21hippie, Yes I am a happy hippie yay and see if anything else.
- 44:26Mooney says love me some JSM. Autumn says love having guest
- 44:31days, I do too. So yes, yes, yes, yes.
- 44:37That'll be a fun week. That'll be a fun week, Kell
- 44:41says. Oh, love JSM, this week sounds
- 44:43awesome. So yeah, going to be a good
- 44:45week. And of course we're going to
- 44:47continue. We will be talking a little bit
- 44:49more about Judge Mullins. We will be talking a little bit
- 44:53more about Kata Scott and if there is an update on Jack and
- 45:01Lily, we will be talking about them as well.
- 45:04So yeah, we, we got a lot going on next week, got a lot going on
- 45:09before we close out for the night guys and we all retire to
