Ep. 37 - The Black Man in the Boat: Untold Heroes of the Delaware
Episode 37 uncovers overlooked stories around America’s founding and its 250th anniversary: the diverse Marblehead Mariners who helped Washington cross the Delaware (including Prince Whipple and John Glover), the hypocrisy of founding fathers like Jefferson and Washington, and the daring escape of Ona Judge.
The hosts connect these histories to modern events — the Haitian Revolution’s role in the Louisiana Purchase, recent Supreme Court and TPS decisions, and the politicized America 250 celebration — and close with a review of the film Posse, spotlighting Black cowboys and erased narratives.
