- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing genuine
- 0:13issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:14hypnotherapist, Demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:18royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi, Adam here. It's the beginning.
- 0:42Of a brand new year. And I've.
- 0:44Been inundated with. Either clients.
- 0:48Or people considering. Being a client reaching out to
- 0:52me to. Help them lose weight.
- 0:55Because they've got. Into certain.
- 0:57Habits certain. Ways of doing things that have
- 1:01meant that they've gained weight and this client session that
- 1:04you're about to listen to kind of links to that idea they've
- 1:08got to the heaviest that. They'd ever been.
- 1:12And they had had times in the past where they were lean and
- 1:15healthy and fit and full of energy, but they'd got into a
- 1:19bit of a rut of certain behaviours that meant that they
- 1:22had gained weight and they didn't want to keep that weight.
- 1:26They wanted to get back to a lean and healthy and energetic.
- 1:31Version of them. What this session does is it
- 1:35creates a perception of choice based on clones.
- 1:41Now, most people, they hear the word clone, they think of
- 1:44science fiction. But if you think of a clone as a
- 1:47genetic representation of you and just imagine there's three
- 1:52different versions of you and they each go away for a year
- 1:56following a different strategy, intuitively you know that they
- 1:59would come back different depending on what strategy they
- 2:04followed. So this hypnosis session has
- 2:06this idea of three different clones, and the first does what
- 2:13they've been doing for the previous few months, the status
- 2:17quo. And this is designed to prove
- 2:20that if they continue doing what they have been doing, they're
- 2:23going to get more of what they've been getting, which is
- 2:26gaining weight and losing some of the energy and vitality that
- 2:31they've had in the past. Version 2 is what most people go
- 2:35to, which is this all or nothing?
- 2:38And I would say 90% of people setting resolutions to lose
- 2:42weight are in this camp where they are saying they're going to
- 2:46do some crazy fad diet or they're going to go to the gym
- 2:49every single day. And this is the all or nothing.
- 2:53They will fail by doing this, and then they're going to go
- 2:57back to doing exactly what they were doing before.
- 3:01The reason why it's included is to highlight that this is not an
- 3:05effective strategy. And then version 3.
- 3:09Excuse me version. Three of them.
- 3:16This clone is incremental steady progress.
- 3:19Where they prioritize. Consistency and identity over
- 3:24quick wins. And the reason why this is such
- 3:26an effective strategy is this is how all long term change takes
- 3:31place. Now you listening to this.
- 3:34Will imagine three different. Versions of you going off doing
- 3:373 different things and you will get to have an intuitive sense
- 3:40as to which one is going to lead to the kind of future that you
- 3:44want. And it could be losing weight,
- 3:46it could be getting stronger, it could be getting fitter,
- 3:49healthier. It doesn't have to be about
- 3:51weight loss. It's just behaviors and identity
- 3:54that is going to take your body shape into the kind of direction
- 3:58that you want to take it. I think you will resonate with
- 4:01this. If you have tried to lose weight
- 4:04before and not got the result that you're looking for or are
- 4:08just frustrated with your overall body shape right now, I
- 4:12think you will connect with this equally.
- 4:15It was created for an individual, so if there's
- 4:19certain suggestions here that don't resonate.
- 4:21For you for. Example, this client like the
- 4:24idea of salsa dancing or personal training sessions to
- 4:26help them increase their activity.
- 4:28This individual client drunk a lot of tea with a lot of sugar
- 4:32in it and that was contributing to their weight gain.
- 4:34These situations are unlikely to be true for you, so ignore any
- 4:39suggestions that aren't quite right.
- 4:41Lean into anything that feels useful and if you do like the
- 4:44idea of a bespoke session created for you, there will be a
- 4:49link in the description but also you can find it on my website
- 4:52which is. Adam Cox dot.
- 4:54Co.uk and you can book a free consultation call over Zoom.
- 4:58On there. For now, though, you might get
- 5:01some real value from this session.
- 5:02So find a quiet, comfortable place, the kind of place where
- 5:05you're not going to be distracted or disturbed.
- 5:08Relax and. Enjoy the session,
- 5:33take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 5:42resourceful feeling of calm relaxation, and as you exhale,
- 5:51feel a wonderful feeling of release, as if feelings of
- 6:00tension, stress and worry are melting away.
- 6:07Melting away like an ice cream in the sunshine.
- 6:13Just imagine that tension and worries, that's it, melting away
- 6:23and replace with a wonderful feeling of relaxation.
- 6:30Just imagine how it would feel to have let go of that
- 6:37unnecessary tension, to feel that sense of lightness, that
- 6:51sense of ease. And perhaps you could imagine
- 6:56your head like a brightly coloured helium balloon, just
- 7:03floating there, needing no tension to have it positioned
- 7:11there. Imagine your head feeling light
- 7:15and just imagine focusing on the sensation immediately behind
- 7:22your eyeballs. As you focus on that feeling,
- 7:29imagine your eyelids getting heavier, your jaw getting
- 7:33looser. Imagine the last time you had a
- 7:37wonderful yawn and ease into that feeling of just letting go
- 7:47of that sensation behind your eyes and a feeling that ripple
- 7:52of relaxation going down your cheeks, into your jaw, neck and
- 7:58shoulders, all the way down your arms.
- 8:01As you imagine your arms feeling limp, loose and heavy.
- 8:10I want you to think of a puppet. A puppet with no strings and
- 8:16just imagine their limbs, their arms, their legs, and imagine
- 8:20your arms and legs like that puppet.
- 8:24Limp, loose and relax. That's it.
- 8:32The deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you feel.
- 8:36And the more relaxed you feel. The deeper you breathe, each
- 8:41breath taking you deeper and deeper.
- 8:48Relaxed now that's it. Drifting deeper down.
- 8:56And I want you to recall a time from your past where you felt in
- 9:06harmony with your body, that the body you wanted.
- 9:14Health, weight, fitness, and strength was aligned with the
- 9:20choices you were making. And I want you to imagine,
- 9:26thinking back to that version of you, almost like you're an
- 9:31invisible spy watching you. I want you to be that spy,
- 9:38studying what you did back then, when how you wanted your body to
- 9:46be was connected with the choices that made your body.
- 9:53That way maybe there's things you can observe how much walking
- 10:02or exercise you were doing back then, what foods you were eating
- 10:09more often and what foods you were hardly eating at all.
- 10:15How much water you were drinking and how often there was no added
- 10:21sugar. And I want you to notice as you
- 10:27look back to that version of you, how things incrementally
- 10:37changed. Maybe there was a big decision
- 10:42that got the ball rolling. And then perhaps based on that
- 10:50decision, you found yourself sleeping better.
- 10:56And then when you were sleeping better, you woke up with more
- 10:59energy. With more energy, you had a
- 11:03desire to do something more active, and the more active you
- 11:09were, the more your heart, your lungs, your muscles
- 11:16strengthened, which meant it easier to do more of that thing
- 11:23that got less and less challenging the more you did it.
- 11:31I want you to get a feeling. And Rome wasn't built in a day.
- 11:40The probability of you suddenly waking up at the exact weight,
- 11:48fitness and strength that you desire is unlikely unless it
- 11:55comes as a side effect of healthy choices that compound
- 12:04over days, weeks and then months.
- 12:10I want you to imagine standing in A room with three clones of
- 12:20you at exactly your age and exactly your weight, exactly
- 12:30your level of fitness and exactly your past.
- 12:38And I want you to imagine you're going to give a different
- 12:44suggestion to each of your 3 clones and then meet them one
- 12:52year from now to sanity check whether or not these suggestions
- 13:01would lead to that healthy, fit, stronger version of you with
- 13:09more energy, mobility, a spring in your step.
- 13:16And I want you to imagine meeting your first clone and
- 13:20giving them the suggestion to do exactly what you've done in the
- 13:26last year for another year. Consider this clone business as
- 13:35usual, the status quo, and then say goodbye to that clone
- 13:47knowing that they will continue doing exactly what they have
- 13:52been doing. A wise man once said that the
- 14:02definition of insanity is to do the same things and expect a
- 14:08different result. So consider the first clone,
- 14:15your insanity clone because they will do exactly what you have
- 14:20been doing for another year. And then the suggestion to clone
- 14:32#2 this is revolutionary change. They can't fail.
- 14:44They have to stick to ultra high standards.
- 14:48No sugar, no chocolate, no takeaways.
- 14:54They have to be perfect. This clone we can consider All
- 15:03or Nothing. They either eat perfectly and
- 15:08exercise every day, or if they fail it gives them permission to
- 15:16do what clone number one is doing exactly what they were
- 15:21doing before. All or Nothing is clone #2.
- 15:31And then send them on their way. And finally you have a
- 15:38suggestion for clone #3. Not rules, not obligations, just
- 15:51principles, intentions. Consider this incremental
- 16:01change. But over the next year they will
- 16:05build up to a habit where their primary drink is water doesn't
- 16:15have to be done on day one. But they will.
- 16:19Build up until one day, perhaps not even that far in the future,
- 16:28there will be a day where they drink no tea, have no squash or
- 16:34fruit juices, only drinking water.
- 16:40The second principle or intention is to have two healthy
- 16:48meals a day. Could be breakfast and lunch, or
- 16:52lunch and dinner. But healthy comes from real food
- 16:59with real nutrients, not processed food, not takeaways,
- 17:05not snags. Real meals could be a healthy
- 17:11breakfast and then a healthy lunch.
- 17:13It could be that lunch that is chicken breast and broccoli,
- 17:23meat and veg vision, something to accompany it.
- 17:32That evening meal will ideally be two hours before you sleep.
- 17:40But again, real food, not massive portions, real food.
- 17:49And this version of you has figured out that when you buy
- 17:53the right things in advance, it's easier to prepare good,
- 17:59healthy, delicious meals. And the final principle of that
- 18:06third clone is simply that you do something active every day.
- 18:18A long evening walk. An early workout session in the
- 18:22gym, time with the personal trainer, or perhaps a salsa
- 18:32class or an evening dancing. And I want you to imagine you
- 18:40say goodbye to clone #3 incremental change.
- 18:48Clone one was status quo insanity, Clone 2 was all or
- 18:57nothing and clone 3 incremental change, steady progress.
- 19:09They've all left that room now. And now imagine seeing a big
- 19:15movie screen, like a cinema, and you get a montage of what each
- 19:21of these have done and you will imagine seeing that a year has
- 19:27passed. So imagine seeing that screen of
- 19:32clone #1 doing exactly what you have been doing.
- 19:37And maybe, maybe clone #1 means you don't lose weight, get
- 19:45stronger, maybe you gain weight, feel older, more lethargic, more
- 19:55prone to injuries and tiredness. And if you could imagine seeing
- 20:03what clone #1 did for the next 12 months, let me know about
- 20:09nodding your head, welcome them back in the room and then see
- 20:14what their body looks like. And just ask them to wait.
- 20:21And then on that screen you see this all or nothing version of
- 20:27you, and I want you to see that maybe they got off to a strong
- 20:33start. No sugar in their tea, no
- 20:37chocolate, no ice cream, healthy food, everything perfect.
- 20:44Until it wasn't. And when it wasn't, how long did
- 20:49that period last for? And then it was back to All, and
- 20:53then nothing. And maybe half the year was
- 20:58eating healthy and half the year wasn't at all.
- 21:04See that montage, that movie on the screen of what All or
- 21:08Nothing did for you. And then welcome them back in
- 21:13the room and see what their body shape looks like, what they
- 21:18weigh, how they look, how healthy they look in their eyes.
- 21:25And then see the movie of incremental progress, the
- 21:33version of you that doesn't have to be perfect, but is making
- 21:38small, regular changes. This version of you takes pride
- 21:45in consistency. Any one day, good or bad, means
- 21:51nothing. What means everything is
- 21:55building habits, routines, rituals, streaks.
- 22:02I want you to see that this version of you focuses on the
- 22:08progress, the wins, notices, changes slowly at 1st and then
- 22:15bigger. And I want you to see that for
- 22:21this version of you, it's the long game that matters.
- 22:27And when you can see that version of you on that montage,
- 22:32what they do consistently over a year, let me know by nodding
- 22:37your head how they drink more water, the food they eat, the
- 22:45food they buy, how they prepare it.
- 22:49Invite them back into the room and notice that that version of
- 22:52you didn't have to be perfect. They could have the occasional
- 22:56take away and it didn't mean they failed.
- 23:00They could have that occasional treat and it was just a treat,
- 23:06not failure, and they would go back to that routine, that
- 23:11ritual, then consistent 2 meals a day that are healthy.
- 23:20You now have your 3 clones back in the room.
- 23:23But a year has passed and I want you to inspect them.
- 23:29How healthy do they look? How strong do they seem?
- 23:34How much do they weigh? Allow your unconscious mind to
- 23:40make a choice because not making a choice is still making a
- 23:45choice to continue doing what you have been doing.
- 23:51No choice at all is to choose option one, and most people
- 23:57choose option 2 because it feels righteous.
- 24:01Big changes, big goals, high standards that don't last.
- 24:10And then option 3, the most difficult, the most challenging,
- 24:17but the most rewarding path. Subtle changes that are
- 24:27consistent and build over time, and when you feel that you're
- 24:32unconscious has connected, resonated with the version of
- 24:39you that will take your life in the direction that you desire.
- 24:43Imagine stepping into that identity, that version of you,
- 24:50feeling what it would feel like to have lived that way already,
- 24:58and notice that it activates all of the neural pathways from your
- 25:03past where you already knew how to make great choices.
- 25:11That is, your body adapted and changed.
- 25:14You gave yourself more challenges, each one giving you
- 25:19the ability to build on the last.
- 25:23That's it. And when your unconscious feels
- 25:28connected, awaken all of the beliefs, resources, and ways of
- 25:34thinking necessary to commit to this identity.
- 25:44Any setbacks are temporary because this version of you is
- 25:48not all or nothing. It's simply refinements,
- 25:56adjustments, alterations leading to better and better choices.
- 26:09You've awakened this identity and imagine waking up tomorrow
- 26:13as this version of you. You don't need to be perfect,
- 26:20but you are intentional. Imagine what you do differently,
- 26:29what you do when you wake up, what you eat for lunch, what you
- 26:33buy in the supermarket. And imagine that a month from
- 26:38now, what momentum have you built?
- 26:43What feels easier, How is your body already changing?
- 26:49And then three months from now, three months of consistent
- 26:54healthy choices, drinking so much water, 2 healthy meals a
- 27:00day, daily activity. Imagine feeling what 3 months of
- 27:06that has done to your body, your sleep, your energy levels, your
- 27:11confidence. Imagine the compliments and
- 27:17acknowledgments you get from other people.
- 27:21As you've changed, people notice you've changed.
- 27:26And if you're ready to awaken fully, this version of you will
- 27:32it decide it, embody it now, and then allow that version of you
- 27:43to float all the way back into your present.
- 27:51Very soon I will count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 27:54So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 27:58nose. Just wiggle your fingers, wiggle
- 28:02your toes, connect and calibrate into the here and the now as I
- 28:06now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you. 123 Waking up. 456
- 28:18more alert. 7-8 open your eyes. Open your eyes. 910 wide awake,
