- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:40Hi, it's. Adam here.
- 0:42And in this episode of The Hypnotist, because it is New
- 0:47Year's Day at the time where I record this, I thought I would
- 0:51do a very short podcast episode about what I've noticed to be
- 0:59the popular resolutions. And this tends to be quite a
- 1:03busy time of year for me because a lot of people have attempted
- 1:09resolutions, goals and changes in the past.
- 1:13They haven't got the level of success or the change that they
- 1:16wanted, and therefore having a hypnotherapist on their team can
- 1:21definitely improve the probability that they achieve
- 1:26the kind of goals that they're looking for.
- 1:28So I thought it might be helpful just to share with you the 7
- 1:32three, the seven key themes of resolutions that typically
- 1:38people make around this time of year.
- 1:42And the number one resolution that people make at this time of
- 1:46year is to improve their physical health.
- 1:51And I'm going to include a few things in there.
- 1:52So that could include losing weight.
- 1:56It could be a resolution or an intention to eat healthier.
- 2:01Maybe it's to go to the gym more and exercise regularly, or maybe
- 2:06it's to follow quite a specific diet.
- 2:08That might be keto, or it might be Atkins or Paleo or
- 2:14intermittent fasting. But for a lot of people, we can
- 2:17kind of cluster and chunk that down into the overall resolution
- 2:22of improving physical health. The second most popular
- 2:29resolution tends to be linked to finances, and that might be to
- 2:35spend less, to be more diligent and responsible with money.
- 2:41It might be to start saving for a specific purchase, maybe a new
- 2:48car, a new home. It might be to pay off debt,
- 2:51which is a very good thing to do by the way, because in the game
- 2:56of wealth it's all about compounding.
- 2:59And if you have debts, the interest is is kind of
- 3:03compounding against you. And if you have assets, the
- 3:06compounding is working for you. So paying off debts,
- 3:09particularly high interest debts is a very smart move.
- 3:12Or it might be to start investing or learning how to
- 3:15invest. Just as a a side note here, a
- 3:20couple of years ago I spent a lot of time creating a a course
- 3:23called Hypnotic Wealth that deals with all these kind of
- 3:26money issues related to psychology.
- 3:30It's all linked to fears and belief systems and the
- 3:34perceptions of risk. So if you have got the
- 3:37resolution to make changes regarding money, I'll put a link
- 3:41in the show notes because that might be helpful for you.
- 3:44The third resolution that tends to be quite popular is to
- 3:51improve mental health, and that could be anything from reducing
- 3:56stress to becoming more mindful or generally improving work life
- 4:03balance. And with the clients that I work
- 4:05with, that typically isn't the main reason they want to work
- 4:09with me. It just becomes a positive side
- 4:13effect of resolving other issues.
- 4:18If you've got a traumatic memory, if you've got feelings
- 4:22of guilt, that tends to give a lot more stress and less
- 4:26emotional well-being anyway. You resolve generally the root
- 4:30cause and then the symptoms naturally change.
- 4:34A lot of people at this time of year want to learn a new skill
- 4:38or a hobby. A few years ago I decided to
- 4:43learn Portuguese and doing it for a few minutes per day has
- 4:49now got me to a level where I can have a conversation in
- 4:53Portuguese. It's not the kind of thing that
- 4:55you can learn in a week or a few days.
- 4:58It does take time, so therefore something like hypnotherapy can
- 5:02help with things like motivation, consistency,
- 5:07diligence. This year I'm making the
- 5:09intention to learn how to read music and use music editing
- 5:15software. So rather than using other
- 5:17people's music for my hypnosis backdrops, I actually create my
- 5:21own hypnosis. So I've got things like a loop
- 5:24station and a MIDI keyboard and all this kind of stuff, stuff
- 5:29that I don't know how to use yet, but that's my intention to
- 5:32learn it this year. So it might be that you want to
- 5:36learn something new, maybe a martial art, maybe let's say
- 5:41something like a language or some different kind of practice
- 5:45that would be helpful for you. The the 5th I would say popular
- 5:54resolution is all about habits and it tends to be quitting
- 6:00unhealthy habits. So you could link this to
- 6:02improving physical health, but most people would look at it as
- 6:06a resolution in and of itself. A lot of people want to stop
- 6:10smoking. A lot of people want to either
- 6:14drink less alcohol or quit alcohol.
- 6:17I had a consultation called yesterday with someone the ones
- 6:20to rapidly and and radically reduce their screen time.
- 6:24So if you have a desire to let's say change some of these
- 6:30unhealthy or unproductive habits, I would recommend you
- 6:34try it yourself first because not everyone needs a
- 6:38hypnotherapist to help them. But just know that if you do
- 6:43attempt to make any of these resolutions and you can't quite
- 6:46get the outcome that you're looking for, that doesn't mean
- 6:49that you can't do it. It might just mean that we need
- 6:52a different strategy or to release some kind of block or to
- 6:55change a belief system. And then when you try it again,
- 6:59suddenly you get the result you're looking for.
- 7:01Resolution number six is all about improving relationships.
- 7:06And that might be to improve the relationship with your romantic
- 7:10partner. It might be to spend more
- 7:13quality time with family or friends, or to improve
- 7:16communication skills. And humans are very social
- 7:21creatures. You don't find many hermits
- 7:24living on their own in the forest.
- 7:26They congregate around other people because that social
- 7:32connection is so important for us as humans.
- 7:36So if you're making the resolution to improve
- 7:39relationships, then it can link to emotional triggers.
- 7:45A lot of people are triggered by the people they're closest to
- 7:49because they know what buttons to press.
- 7:51And sometimes just making those buttons not work anymore can
- 7:54radically improve personal relationships.
- 7:57So worth considering them. And then the final one is people
- 8:02made the resolution to either get organized or to increase
- 8:07productivity. And it might be that this last
- 8:10year you've been procrastinating a lot, you've been putting stuff
- 8:13off, Maybe you don't know where to start with certain things, in
- 8:18which case that could be a good resolution to set for 2025.
- 8:24In all of these cases, I can think of numerous examples of
- 8:29clients that I've worked with to help them make changes.
- 8:33And the great thing is you don't have to make a change just on
- 8:37January the 1st. You can make any of these
- 8:40changes at any point in the year.
- 8:42But if you are thinking of making a change like this around
- 8:47about this time of year, then having a hypnotherapist that has
- 8:52worked with people in these areas before could give you an
- 8:55edge. And, and one of the key things
- 8:57that I look at is the opportunity cost.
- 9:01If you get the outcome that you're looking for based on
- 9:06trial and error and trying different approaches, but it
- 9:08takes you two or three years to make that change.
- 9:11What could that cost you financially?
- 9:13What could that cost you from a health perspective at what could
- 9:16it cost you in relationships? And just to get the outcome
- 9:20quicker, even if you're paying someone like me to help you may
- 9:24be worth it if the time it saves you gives you additional
- 9:29resources that you can deploy in different areas.
- 9:32I remember working with a Scottish client who was drinking
- 9:38a lot and smoking a lot from mid teens all the way into his 30s,
- 9:43and we calculated that on average, the amount that he had
- 9:47spent on alcohol and cigarettes could have been enough for him
- 9:51to have got a deposit for his own home.
- 9:54And for him, the idea of owning his own home was always out of
- 9:58the question. He could never build a deposit
- 10:00without realizing that he had the ability to build that
- 10:05deposit if he looked at it in a different way.
- 10:08So there was a big opportunity cost to making the right change
- 10:14later on than you could have. And that's worth bearing in
- 10:17mind. So you've probably heard quite a
- 10:20few of my podcast episodes. Most of them feature real
- 10:24clients, real situations. You'll know that I protect the
- 10:27confidentiality of the clients that I work with.
- 10:29You're only hearing my voice. But if you like the idea of
- 10:33working with me in 2025, there is a particular offer that I'm
- 10:40making. But this is more for people that
- 10:43want to make big changes. So I did a a discount offer for
- 10:48Black Friday where I was offering people 20% off.
- 10:51I'm not doing that now because January is a very busy period
- 10:56for me. But if you like the idea of
- 10:58working with me, I am willing to honor that 20% off discount for
- 11:0510 sessions or more. So that would give us, you know,
- 11:09at an average of one session per month, almost a year's worth of
- 11:13sessions together. And it's highly likely we're
- 11:15going to make a lot of progress over that time.
- 11:18So if that appeals to you, click the link in the show notes.
- 11:22I can talk more about that offer.
- 11:25If you've already had a free consultation call with me.
- 11:28I do only offer one free consultation call.
- 11:31You can just book the sessions and if you use the code 20% off,
- 11:37SO20 the percent sign and then OFF, so 20% off for 10 or 20
- 11:45sessions, that will give you the 20% discount, which is already a
- 11:51better rate because you're buying more sessions.
- 11:53So if that's of interest, either by the sessions online, there'll
- 11:56be a link in the show notes, or you can schedule a free
- 12:00consultation call if you haven't had one already.
- 12:04That's me checking off for now. So again, a very happy new year.
- 12:08I really hope that 2025 is a great year for you.
- 12:13And the fact that you're listening to Hypnosis through a
- 12:17podcast probably means that you're going to have a bit of an
- 12:20edge anyway this next year, Whether you work with me
- 12:25directly or not, to me isn't the most important thing.
- 12:28What's really important is that what Ioffer to the world in
- 12:33terms of these recordings or working with people is having an
- 12:36impact, having some kind of value.
- 12:38So whatever your goals, intentions or changes you want
- 12:41to make, wishing you the best of luck in achieving them.
- 12:45So happy New Year again, and you'll be hearing again from me
- 12:49very soon in a future episode. You take care.
