- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Welcome, welcome, welcome.
- 0:06SPEAKER_00: I'm Tina, your transformational coach and emotional strategist.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: And that's emotional intelligence strategist, which is always a hard word to remember.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: I guess that's always going to be the same for me.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: And I'm here to talk to you about midlife and midlife struggles and also victories.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much for joining me.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: Have you ever listed the things that you survived and then suddenly realized that you never gave yourself credit for any of it?
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: Well, that's what happened to me today, and it hit me harder than I even expected.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: I was talking on TikTok, naming some of the things that have overcome, and out of nowhere, I felt this wave of emotion.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: And right now, just explaining to you, I feel shivers in my body.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: But those good kind, not because I was sad, but because I finally hurt myself.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: I almost started crying.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: I finally realized like how much I've carried without ever stopping to honor it.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: And I bet that a lot of my listeners have done the same thing.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: We try to hold it together.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: We keep doing something we push through like it's normal, but we do not acknowledge what we've been through and how far we've come.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: And I think it's about time that we start realizing what we have done.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: We have to give ourselves credit.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: And I know my voice is a little shaky, but yes, we have to give ourselves credit for this.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: We have to honor it.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: We downplay our progress because of our own strength becomes it's like familiar, like it's like you have to have it, like it's a given.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: And we forget how heavy things are while we're holding them.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: And we forget the version of us who's just trying to make it through the day, like like that's just normal now.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: And we need to honor ourselves.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: And I feel like that's very important.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: So I want to take a moment to honor you right now.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: Just think of even the last month, some of those things that you thought you may not be able to get through, and you've you've gotten through them.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: Maybe you got some bad news and you had to cope and you had to, you know, find some coping strategies, but you got through it.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: Maybe you were overwhelmed, but you broke it down into parts and you got through it.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: Moving on is survival mode.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: It's when you just keep going because life doesn't give you another option.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: You function and you distract yourself and you pretend that you're fine.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: But here's the difference.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: You're healing.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: Healing is when you finally face what happened, when you let yourself feel what you avoided.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: You know, it's like when you stop carrying the blame that was never yours to carry in the first place.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: And you're compassionate to yourself.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: You give yourself some slack, some compassion, the compassion that you have no problem giving a best friend or some other family members.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: You give that to yourself.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: Healing is when the story stops controlling you.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: That's something I really had to learn personally.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: I let things control me that shouldn't control me.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: Like I let other people's moods or emotional states affect mine.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: And I know it's hard.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: But I also know I know that's not the way I feel.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: That's not the way I live, that's not my lifestyle.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: You know, moving on, it changes your pace.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: Healing changes your heart.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: So I do have one thing I want you to do today.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: I want you to take a minute to 60 seconds, name three things that you survived.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: Say them out loud, because when I said them out loud, that was so powerful.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: Write them down, honor them.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: Because recognizing your own strength, it's not breaking, it's healing.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: So if this is you, I just want it, you know, I want you to just take a moment to reflect and to know that you are getting things done.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: And then last episode was about motivation and commitment, and I really am motivated.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: Not motivated, but I'm committed.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: I'm more committed because let's face it, sometimes the motivation isn't there.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: And let's just be compassionate with ourselves.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: Let's learn to, you know, clap for a minute, take a break, reward yourself when you've been through something hard, just celebrate yourself.
