Latest / She Rises with Ashy & Tijana / Friday feature - Rejection is protection & redirection
Transcript
- 0:05Speaker 1: Apologie production.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Rejection is your protection and the biggest redirection. So when
- 0:17Speaker 2: you get rejected, something doesn't go to plans, something doesn't
- 0:19Speaker 2: work out the way that you wanted it to. If
- 0:21Speaker 2: you can trust that it is happening to protect you
- 0:24Speaker 2: from what is not meant to be yours, not only
- 0:27Speaker 2: protecting you, but it's redirecting you to where you're meant
- 0:31Speaker 2: to be going. Yeah, it's so soothing to hear that,
- 0:34Speaker 2: because sometimes we can get so caught up and I'm like, fuck,
- 0:37Speaker 2: I really wanted that to happen and it was meant
- 0:39Speaker 2: to be like this. It's like no, it's actually protecting
- 0:41Speaker 2: me from something that wasn't meant for me, and it's
- 0:43Speaker 2: putting me on a path to what is meant for me.
- 0:45Speaker 3: It's trusting the universe and that it's got your back.
- 0:47Speaker 2: It's fully surrendering and trusting that life's happening for you.
- 0:50Speaker 4: So we thought that today we would delve in and
- 0:52Speaker 4: tell you guys some different situations that we have been
- 0:55Speaker 4: in where life at the time felt hard and we
- 0:58Speaker 4: were like why is this happening? And then it has
- 1:00Speaker 4: redirected us into different situations that honestly we couldn't have
- 1:04Speaker 4: even a imagined that was so much better long term.
- 1:08Speaker 2: And I bet you, if you're listening, I'd love you
- 1:10Speaker 2: to just take a moment to reflect on a situation
- 1:12Speaker 2: like that. Whether it's you've gone through a breakup, or
- 1:14Speaker 2: you didn't get a job that you wanted, or just
- 1:16Speaker 2: something that you were so badly thinking was meant for
- 1:18Speaker 2: you and it didn't happen. You're like, Oh, if that happened,
- 1:20Speaker 2: I wouldn't have met this person. If that happened at
- 1:22Speaker 2: this time, I wouldn't be in this house. I wouldn't
- 1:24Speaker 2: be over here. Everything happens at the right time for
- 1:26Speaker 2: the right reason.
- 1:27Speaker 3: It really does.
- 1:28Speaker 4: And the more we can lean in and look at
- 1:30Speaker 4: things that way, too, the more it just makes you
- 1:32Speaker 4: at peace with life and all the ways that things
- 1:35Speaker 4: are panning out and happening.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Definitely, so my first one is getting fired was one
- 1:40Speaker 2: of the best things. It is the best thing that
- 1:42Speaker 2: ever happened to me. If I did not get fired
- 1:44Speaker 2: from Valley Girl, I wouldn't be here talking.
- 1:46Speaker 1: To you guys today. Naturally, I would not be where
- 1:48Speaker 1: I am.
- 1:48Speaker 2: I would have stayed in a job that was safe
- 1:50Speaker 2: and felt like quote unquote kind of easy. I worked
- 1:54Speaker 2: at Valley Girl. I can't even remember how old it was.
- 1:56Speaker 2: It must have been like nineteen and I've been there for.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Maybe a year or two.
- 1:59Speaker 2: And I had this beautiful boss. We got along so well,
- 2:02Speaker 2: and then she left to go have a baby, and
- 2:04Speaker 2: we got this new boss that came on board, and
- 2:05Speaker 2: after two weeks she just sat me down and was like, oh,
- 2:08Speaker 2: we don't have any hours for you. And I was like, ah,
- 2:11Speaker 2: does that mean I don't have a job anymore. She's like, yeah,
- 2:13Speaker 2: you're not required anymore. And I was fired overnight, and
- 2:15Speaker 2: I was like, oh my gosh. And back then like
- 2:18Speaker 2: so justsregulated, but just went in my car, ball my
- 2:21Speaker 2: eyes out.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Went home to Steve, like on the floor, just so dramatic,
- 2:24Speaker 1: which is like, what am I gonna do? I have
- 2:27Speaker 1: no money, Like I need a job, like Color is
- 2:29Speaker 1: hunting to me. And for so.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Long I had been going to do like his little
- 2:33Speaker 2: boot camps and like helping him out, and he was
- 2:35Speaker 2: like trying to get me to do a personal training course,
- 2:37Speaker 2: but I had a limiting belief that I was too
- 2:39Speaker 2: dumb and I couldn't pass it. So what's one trying.
- 2:41Speaker 2: I'm not going to spend money on a course. Then
- 2:43Speaker 2: I know I'm gonna fail, Like I truly believed it,
- 2:44Speaker 2: that I wouldn't even try it. And he was kind
- 2:47Speaker 2: of like, wow, this is dramatic, but I didn't say that.
- 2:50Speaker 2: But it was a perfect opportunity go and do your
- 2:52Speaker 2: pet course. You love finness, you love health, and you
- 2:54Speaker 2: love helping people. This is a perfect job for you.
- 2:57Speaker 2: I was like, I got do that.
- 2:58Speaker 1: I'm too dumb, blah blah blah.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Anyways, in the background, Steve had been applying for because
- 3:03Speaker 2: we couldn't afford for me to do the course, he'd
- 3:05Speaker 2: been applying for government grants so that they would like
- 3:08Speaker 2: cover the fees for me to go and do the course.
- 3:10Speaker 2: And a couple of days later I got approved. He
- 3:12Speaker 2: was like, good news, you can go and do this course.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Now I've got your government grant. It's not going to
- 3:15Speaker 2: cost you a cent. I was like, fuck, no, I
- 3:18Speaker 2: have to go do it because what else am I
- 3:19Speaker 2: going to do?
- 3:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:20Speaker 2: So when I did the course, it actually took me
- 3:22Speaker 2: three goes for my final assessment to actually pass. And
- 3:24Speaker 2: can you imagine how hard that was because that was
- 3:26Speaker 2: confirming that story that you're too dumb. Anyway, finally passed
- 3:29Speaker 2: and yes, started to become a personal trainer, took on clients,
- 3:32Speaker 2: I did a lot of free work. But yeah, that's
- 3:35Speaker 2: how my whole health and fitness career started. And if
- 3:37Speaker 2: I did not get fired, no way I would have
- 3:39Speaker 2: gone and done that course.
- 3:40Speaker 1: N I wouldn't have been I was too scared.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Getting fired was protecting me from a job that didn't
- 3:44Speaker 2: feel good for me.
- 3:44Speaker 1: I hated it.
- 3:45Speaker 2: I didn't like it no way, and so much more
- 3:48Speaker 2: than that, and then it redirected me to go and
- 3:50Speaker 2: do this course and start a career that I truly loved.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Was so meant for me, so passionate, it was so
- 3:55Speaker 2: like my purpose to help.
- 3:56Speaker 3: One hundred percent.
- 3:57Speaker 4: Like I could never imagine seeing you know, and how
- 3:59Speaker 4: passionate you are about what you do doing something like that.
- 4:03Speaker 2: If I had just known that one quote, maybe it
- 4:06Speaker 2: would have taken away some of the pain and tears
- 4:08Speaker 2: that I was like putting myself through. Yeah, massive victim
- 4:11Speaker 2: mentality back then too, But.
- 4:12Speaker 4: Here I am so my next one. It's like I
- 4:17Speaker 4: haven't really spoken too much about before, but basically, when
- 4:20Speaker 4: Kurt and I broke up when we were around eighteen,
- 4:23Speaker 4: there was this guy that I was seeing at the time,
- 4:25Speaker 4: and I'm not really somebod who bounces between people when
- 4:28Speaker 4: I'm like with someone, I'm like pretty much like all
- 4:31Speaker 4: in with one person at a time kind of thing.
- 4:33Speaker 4: And this person definitely made it seem as though they
- 4:36Speaker 4: were reciprocating, but they were not. And then I found
- 4:40Speaker 4: they were not. I found out they were sleeping around,
- 4:42Speaker 4: they were bouncing around, and I were bouncing around when
- 4:44Speaker 4: they were telling.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Me that they weren't also dishonest, dishonest.
- 4:47Speaker 3: And it was also with two of like my really
- 4:49Speaker 3: good friends.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I am sure I know.
- 4:51Speaker 4: So I felt so rejections. I felt so rejected. I
- 4:56Speaker 4: felt rejected from my friends. I had one of them
- 4:58Speaker 4: that lived with me for a stage of my life
- 4:59Speaker 4: because she was struggling, so I actually gave her my
- 5:01Speaker 4: room and I moved in with my sister in her room.
- 5:04Speaker 4: I felt so rejected, so cut, so hurt. I had
- 5:08Speaker 4: lost him, that I'd lost the person that I was
- 5:10Speaker 4: like finally starting to like get a little bit of
- 5:12Speaker 4: a relationship with. And then I had like lost two
- 5:15Speaker 4: of my really really close friends at the time. When
- 5:17Speaker 4: I understand, like things happened and people have their own
- 5:18Speaker 4: reasons for doing certain things and whatever we were young,
- 5:21Speaker 4: we were silly, like no hard feelings against anyone in
- 5:23Speaker 4: the situation because the best outcome came from it. Anyway,
- 5:26Speaker 4: it redirected me to Curt, like we rekindled our relationship,
- 5:30Speaker 4: and if I had ended up committing to another person,
- 5:33Speaker 4: it would have put me in a really difficult situation.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Whereas for me, when Kurt came back around, it was
- 5:37Speaker 4: still a hard decision to make, and I definitely made
- 5:38Speaker 4: him work his way back in. But like, I could
- 5:41Speaker 4: never imagine my life like not being with him, And
- 5:45Speaker 4: I think, deep down, I feel like I've always known
- 5:47Speaker 4: I was gonna marry him. Yeah, I feel like I've
- 5:48Speaker 4: always just been like I've never felt that instant chemistry connection.
- 5:52Speaker 2: But if you, like he said around, so, if you
- 5:54Speaker 2: know the other guys you had committed him, you wouldn't
- 5:56Speaker 2: have been open to Kurt.
- 5:57Speaker 4: No, not at that time, because I'm not like that,
- 5:58Speaker 4: Like I would have closed myself off. Like it's just
- 6:01Speaker 4: crazy how life works. About that time, I remember I
- 6:03Speaker 4: just felt so cut, like I was just like out,
- 6:06Speaker 4: like I felt so worthless and like all those yucky.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Feelings so valid.
- 6:11Speaker 4: And then like now looking back, I'm like, holy thanks fuck. Well, A,
- 6:15Speaker 4: that person probably would have been cheating on me, Like
- 6:16Speaker 4: you know what I mean if they say that they're
- 6:18Speaker 4: in a relationship and that's like not a relationship, but
- 6:20Speaker 4: they're just seeing you and they're not. You deserve better
- 6:22Speaker 4: and b Yeah, it taught me so many lessons. Yeah,
- 6:26Speaker 4: so that was the ultimate redirection because it redirected.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Me back to my up and protected you from being
- 6:31Speaker 1: with someone that's just going to continue to hurt you
- 6:32Speaker 1: and not respect you.
- 6:33Speaker 3: It's not a great start, no, Yeah.
- 6:35Speaker 1: The protection and the redirection huh so cool. Yeah.
- 6:39Speaker 2: One more story of mine, which I don't actually know
- 6:42Speaker 2: the full outcome as to why it didn't happen, but
- 6:45Speaker 2: I just had to sit and trust and surrender. But
- 6:47Speaker 2: it was just before the spicy flu hit and I
- 6:50Speaker 2: got asked to be on Big Brother, But there's quite
- 6:53Speaker 2: a big process that you go through and Big Brother,
- 6:55Speaker 2: Dancing with the Stars or some kind of survivor show.
- 6:57Speaker 2: I would one hundred percent love to go, and I
- 6:59Speaker 2: think it'd be so fun, such a cool opportunity and
- 7:01Speaker 2: really push my limits mentally, physically and emotionally, and I
- 7:04Speaker 2: love it challenge. I feel like you'd really grow from
- 7:06Speaker 2: being one of those shows. So yeah, I got asked
- 7:08Speaker 2: and there was quite an intensive interview process. I had
- 7:11Speaker 2: three really in depth, big interviews, lots and lots of questions.
- 7:15Speaker 1: I had to know so much.
- 7:16Speaker 2: About your life, your lifestyle, how everything works, and obviously
- 7:19Speaker 2: when you go in to be brother, you'd have any
- 7:20Speaker 2: contact with your family. So after the third one, I
- 7:22Speaker 2: was like, okay, like hopefully, but I did say to Steve,
- 7:24Speaker 2: I said, I feel like I'm being a bit difficult.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Like I was like, I've got this business, we have launches.
- 7:29Speaker 2: I'm gonna have to know in advance, like I have
- 7:30Speaker 2: to pre film everything. Can I still upload things to
- 7:32Speaker 2: my social media? And they pretty much like no, So
- 7:34Speaker 2: I think I was a bit difficult. But I didn't
- 7:36Speaker 2: get in, and I was pretty bummed because I think
- 7:38Speaker 2: it would be so fun. But after I was like, oh,
- 7:41Speaker 2: I just have to trust it. That wasn't meant for me.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Maybe something was going to happen in the outside world
- 7:45Speaker 2: that I needed to be here for, maybe a better
- 7:47Speaker 2: opportunity to come along, or yeah, maybe it just wasn't
- 7:50Speaker 2: meant for me. And then like the spicy flu happened,
- 7:52Speaker 2: and there was all lockdowns and stuff like, imagine if
- 7:53Speaker 2: I got locked in that house longer than what I
- 7:55Speaker 2: wanted to. You couldn't fly to Sydney. It was being
- 7:57Speaker 2: filmed in Sydney. You couldn't fly at that point in time,
- 7:59Speaker 2: Like there were so many things going on. It's like, yeah,
- 8:02Speaker 2: you couldn't fly.
- 8:02Speaker 1: You couldn't do it.
- 8:03Speaker 2: It would have been stuck there hard enough to be
- 8:05Speaker 2: raided for my family as it is. So I was like, Oh,
- 8:08Speaker 2: that happened for a reason, that wasn't meant for me.
- 8:11Speaker 1: So so true. I still would like to go on
- 8:13Speaker 1: Dancing with the Stars. Anyone got any connections.
- 8:15Speaker 3: That'd be so fun.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Poit me up. It'd be so Actually another show my
- 8:18Speaker 1: mom put me onto it. I haven't watched the full season.
- 8:20Speaker 1: I think it's called Million Dollar Island. You heard about it?
- 8:23Speaker 3: Oh, I think you've told me about it.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Mom was like, this is the perfect show for you
- 8:27Speaker 2: because it's a lot of fitness and like mental battles
- 8:29Speaker 2: as well, but it's also really big on relationship building. Yeah,
- 8:32Speaker 2: which I feel like I'm quite a people person. I'd
- 8:34Speaker 2: love to go on that. Yeah, and it's only.
- 8:36Speaker 1: A month, it's not twelve weeks.
- 8:38Speaker 3: Yeah, which is a nice sty Yeah, you're only.
- 8:39Speaker 1: On the island for a month.
- 8:40Speaker 2: You have to like live out in the island, build
- 8:42Speaker 2: relationships and like do challenges and you get voted in
- 8:45Speaker 2: and out and it looks so fun. That would be
- 8:47Speaker 2: so then anything with the dark or heights because I
- 8:49Speaker 2: got asked to be on SAS. I can't legally allowed
- 8:52Speaker 2: to say how much money was involved, but it was
- 8:53Speaker 2: huge money. But I was instant no because anything with
- 8:56Speaker 2: heights are dark, I would have made the biggest fool
- 8:59Speaker 2: of myself.
- 9:00Speaker 3: That's what I wanted you as well.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Yeah, actually click Bait then asked me to jump out
- 9:04Speaker 2: of helicop dark. Well, there's ones where they like put
- 9:07Speaker 2: things over your head and then like says they're training
- 9:10Speaker 2: you for like big shit, put things over your head,
- 9:13Speaker 2: put in the dark, and like have water thrown at
- 9:15Speaker 2: you like it's really not and then like crazy obstacle
- 9:19Speaker 2: courses where you're like in the thick mud, crawling on
- 9:21Speaker 2: your hands and knees bugs like, oh, it's a low no.
- 9:25Speaker 2: So it was an instant no for me, even though
- 9:27Speaker 2: the money was really tempting. I'm like, I will get
- 9:29Speaker 2: on one episode either cry and scream that I can't
- 9:32Speaker 2: do something roll break a leg.
- 9:33Speaker 4: Yeah, it's not worth it, not worth it. Also, no trauma,
- 9:36Speaker 4: huh yeah for that stuff like Holy.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Survivor would be really hard as well, I reckon.
- 9:41Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 9:42Speaker 1: Oh anyway, so that.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Was my little well, my last one.
- 9:46Speaker 4: One of the hardest things that I've ever been through
- 9:48Speaker 4: was obviously the fallout that had happened with my family.
- 9:51Speaker 4: But now, looking back on reflection, that is what had
- 9:54Speaker 4: pushed me to do so much inner healing and so
- 9:56Speaker 4: much inner work that I'd put off for so long,
- 9:58Speaker 4: and now like, you know, it's all like out the
- 10:00Speaker 4: other end, and it's all great, and I can kind
- 10:02Speaker 4: of see like why it happened, and and I would
- 10:05Speaker 4: not change a thing because I feel like it's really
- 10:08Speaker 4: pushed me to work on myself. So yeah, I'm really
- 10:11Speaker 4: really grateful for that, even though it was very, very.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Difficult, so crazy to reflect on those hard times and
- 10:16Speaker 2: be like you're so grateful for it.
- 10:18Speaker 1: At the time, it's so painful in so much you got.
- 10:20Speaker 2: To feel hard you do. You have to have breakdowns
- 10:23Speaker 2: to have breakthroughs. Hey, It's crazy because I think back
- 10:26Speaker 2: of my hardest times too, and I'm like, I wouldn't
- 10:28Speaker 2: want to go through that again, and.
- 10:29Speaker 1: I don't want anyone else to have to experience that.
- 10:31Speaker 2: But man, I wouldn't be who I am without that,
- 10:33Speaker 2: and it made it forced me like there's no choice
- 10:37Speaker 2: but to grow and level up because I have to
- 10:39Speaker 2: get through that. So you can find the gratitude for it.
- 10:42Speaker 3: But definitely we're going to wrap it up there.
- 10:44Speaker 2: But yeah, just know that rejection is the biggest protection
- 10:48Speaker 2: and the ultimate redirection.
