- 0:08SPEAKER_02: What's up guys?
- 0:09SPEAKER_02: Welcome back to another week of Health Unscripted with Dr.
- 0:11SPEAKER_02: D.
- 0:12SPEAKER_02: I am Dr.
- 0:12SPEAKER_02: Ashley Dwyer, and today I am joined by Matthew Williams of ProPro.
- 0:17SPEAKER_02: Let's go.
- 0:19SPEAKER_02: Um, Matt, first of all, I want everyone to kind of get to know what you do.
- 0:23SPEAKER_02: So obviously you run FroPro.
- 0:24SPEAKER_02: If you haven't had FroPro, go to what your nearest Whole Foods, gym, all the things.
- 0:29SPEAKER_01: Gyms, juice bars, coffee houses, uh, pretty much anything in the Florida area.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: If you're outside of Florida, you could go to our website, fropro.com, gofro.com, or you, if you're an Amazon shopper, you can find us on Amazon as well.
- 0:40SPEAKER_02: We were everywhere.
- 0:41SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 0:42SPEAKER_02: Love it.
- 0:43SPEAKER_02: So we're gonna talk a little bit about that as well.
- 0:45SPEAKER_02: And then he has his own podcast.
- 0:47SPEAKER_02: I was actually a guest.
- 0:48SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh, what year was that?
- 0:49SPEAKER_02: It was a couple years ago.
- 0:50SPEAKER_02: It was like 2020.
- 0:51SPEAKER_02: Or was it pandemic times?
- 0:52SPEAKER_02: Right after?
- 0:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I feel like 2021.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: No, it was right before though.
- 0:56SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: Because we we were in a different space in this building.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: We're in the back of one.
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: I think it was no, it was pre pre-pandemic.
- 1:03SPEAKER_02: Honestly, all the years are blending together, so I couldn't even tell you.
- 1:07SPEAKER_02: It does like a couple years ago.
- 1:08SPEAKER_02: It does.
- 1:09SPEAKER_03: It's definitely a couple years ago.
- 1:10SPEAKER_02: Uh but he has his own podcast, Wake Up the Sun.
- 1:12SPEAKER_02: So go check that out.
- 1:13SPEAKER_02: So yeah, I'm gonna turn it over to you just to give everyone like kind of an intro.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: Wow, awesome! Well, yeah, so so grateful that you're coming here.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: I know obviously you did your announcement, and I was like, oh my gosh, I was like, I have to uh, you know, have a moving announcement.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: I, you know, I had to get one more podcast with you and always enjoyed, and you helped me a great deal, obviously, with my journeys on the Iron Man training and the different races that I would I was doing, and you know, always hire a professional, right?
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: Always hire a coach.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: I think that's you're making me blush on my own podcast.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: Well, it was it was a great help for me because I thought I was doing what I needed to be doing for my own for my own experience and was sorely mistaken.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: So again, kudos to you, thank you very much.
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: Um, and that's why you actually that's why I think when you came on the show, I was like, Can I hire you?
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: And I think even at that time you were super busy.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: And oh yeah, I mean you took me on though.
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: You were you you didn't pass me off to one of your awesome coaches.
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: So, what year did you run the Iron Man?
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: I honestly can't remember.
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: I I really don't remember like you said, all the years.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: This is horrible, but uh, I don't remember.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: But thank you, as always.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: And uh about us, yeah, here we are in uh Boca Rotone, Florida.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: We're in ProPro HQ 2.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: Next door is the gym and all the stuff that we started back in 2018.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: Um and yeah, it's a peanut butter snack bar, it's uh organic peanut butter, plant-based protein, gluten-free oats, honey, and cinnamon, and then we call them in the CPG space, inclusions like the freeze-dried banana, and the freeze-dried strawberries, the freeze drived raspberries for the different flavors.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: Uh, and yeah, it was just a thing I created for fun.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: Um kind of to start over when I started over my life and started doing some things that I never thought I'd be doing, um, in addition to kind of figuring out my shit.
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: And uh I love it.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: It was really great.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: It was a nice uh opportunity for me to try something new, and then have some people that you know I didn't really believe in myself a lot at that time.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: Um I had a lot of people that are like, hey man, why don't you try this?
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: Or hey, you know, this is great.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: Maybe you should think about doing this.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: So I had a lot of support and I had a lot of guidance, and I think that's extremely important.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: Um and I didn't even have people that poked holes in it just to like challenge.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: Oh, of course, not in a bad way, yeah.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: But people are like, oh dude, a refrigerated bar in Florida?
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: What are you crazy?
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: I'm like, yeah, but doesn't that taste good?
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: It's hot out, you know.
- 3:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you want something refreshing, right?
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: And I'm not and like truth be told, like I can eat leftovers cold, I'm a cold eater guy, you know, like I'm good with that.
- 3:31SPEAKER_02: We are the same, like we just food is fuel almost sometimes and just power it down.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: So yeah, started once uh, you know, once I started it, it kind of just blossomed and took off, and people gave me chances and a couple stores here or there, and then we had a great connection, you know, uh through my wife Chelsea, who you know, who funny story, like went to camp with this gal, and she reached out when like Whole Foods is still small and not you know a global you know Amazon partner.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: And um yeah, she's like, Hey, I'm in marketing uh Whole Foods you should come in, and we kind of laughed, like, hey, we're like wrapped in saran wrap slash small pouches at the time, and and we went down that journey, it took a year.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: Uh it took a year to get from where we were to being allowed on the shelves and we got in, and you know, the rest is kind of history.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: We went from four stores uh to Palm Beach County for a couple years, like two years, and then we expanded, and that was four, we did four flavors, and then we went to Broward County, and then they opened up the whole state.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: And we're trying, you know, like I said, obviously COVID set back a lot of people, no excuse, but you know, we've demonstrated the numbers, we've demonstrated you know uh everything that they were looking for for a product to be launched in another region.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: So once you get one region, Florida's its own region because it's huge.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: Once you get another or two, one or two or two regions, you can be considered a global partner, aka the entire nation.
- 4:53SPEAKER_02: I'm already learning.
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: So it's uh yeah, it's been a cool journey, and and you know, we've grown so much.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: We have a kick-ass team here, you know, uh people that come in and part-time help out.
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: But you know, my wife is a CEO.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: We have uh an amazing director of operations, Emily, that started with us during the pandemic.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we've known her since middle school.
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: Um we had a great marketing company and someone that came from there, and she started January 1, Danny.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: Um, and then we have some great uh people that kind of came aboard more so as mentors in the beginning and now are part of the business.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: And yeah, I just yeah, we're super grateful for it.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: And you know, Frobro is doing well, and it's always been a community and kind of effort of a lot of people.
- 5:31SPEAKER_02: So that's one thing for so we went over, we just glossed over a bunch right now because I'm like, let me dive into little parts there because you even ran over real quick the um, and not that I forgot that we worked together, but training for your was it half or full?
- 5:44SPEAKER_02: It was a half iron man.
- 5:45SPEAKER_02: Okay, half iron man.
- 5:47SPEAKER_02: And Matt is someone like I love that you you mentioned something about how like you you didn't trust yourself or didn't believe in yourself to like do this.
- 5:54SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, what?
- 5:55SPEAKER_02: The math that I know, like you're zero to 100 when you decide you're gonna do something, you do it, which is the half Iron Man, right?
- 6:01SPEAKER_02: Like not many can even complete a regular, like what's a sick?
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: I think it's a sickness, like it's like it's a crazy race, and when you when you think about it, and someone said it to me and it never it never put it that way.
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: They're like, So basically, what you're saying, and this is for the half, is you're you're saying you're you're signing up to work out for six to seven hours straight.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I was like, oh man, I don't want to think of it like that.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: No, because it's the swim, the swim is intense, and I love swimming.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: The biking, I was always down with running because like that was my thing for a while.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: Marathon and I'm with you.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: And then the cycling was just so um unsettling because like I just it's it's not comfortable for me.
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: I don't sit on my bike.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's just kind of you know, like not my favorite.
- 6:43SPEAKER_01: And my coach will joke, TRT will solve that.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 6:47SPEAKER_01: And uh literally, it's just it's just one of those things.
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: I you know, jumping on the bike down here is nice because it's flat, but uh you know, it's fun to train down here.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, there's a ton of pools.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: Obviously, we have a huge ocean.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and it's just it's one of those things, but I think anybody approaching doing something like that, or some form of sprint or Olympic or the all the other different kinds of tries should hire somebody like you, or that can program their kind of training, nutrition, and recovery because it was super important.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: And I was really like, I thought I thought I was doing everything right, and you were like, You're not eating enough, you're not doing enough.
- 7:22SPEAKER_01: And I remember running, I was I don't say the heaviest, but I was like, I was thick, and even I was like you've always been in shape though, right?
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: But I was like, like when I did the last race before I got really sick with that crazy sickness, I remember looking at photos and I was like, man, I didn't feel the way my photos looked, and I felt like full, but I was like, all right, it's time to dial back, dial it in, dial it back because I was, you know, you're eating a lot and because you're expending so so many calories.
- 7:53SPEAKER_02: You were yeah, and that was one of the things for anyone listening who does like extreme sports, even if we have women who want to come in and run marathons, we're like, we need to up your carbs.
- 7:59SPEAKER_02: Like depending on the day, we need to up your up your intake, up your fuel.
- 8:03SPEAKER_02: Because I don't want you feeling like crap, and even though for them, weight loss is still the goal, like for you, it's performance, right?
- 8:08SPEAKER_02: Like, we want to get through this race, we want to do it, we want to feel good, sure, not die on the sidelines.
- 8:14SPEAKER_02: Correct.
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: But that was a fun like 12 weeks, and then yeah, uncomfortable because it, you know, the accountability is huge, and I think when it's like you have to send somebody a picture of yourself, and and you have to answer the questions, and you know, hopefully you answer them truthfully.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: There was a couple times I was like, like, I have to be in a program, I was like, fuck this.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: I was like, you know, I was like, fuck out, like fuck her, like I don't want to do this.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: But it helped me because it again, like I was in here in the mornings and taking my photos and and doing the things, and if I had, you know, you know, death by pizza, you know, the weekend and just completely indulged in some crappy food, I was like, felt bad about it.
- 8:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, got over with it.
- 8:51SPEAKER_01: I understand I can't sit in that too long, but uh yeah, it was very helpful.
- 8:55SPEAKER_02: That's awesome.
- 8:56SPEAKER_02: Um, well, still very proud of me for that.
- 8:58SPEAKER_02: And then all of the business I've gotten to personally witness the growth of FroPro and the changing, even the packaging.
- 9:04SPEAKER_02: I'm looking at the one on the desk right now.
- 9:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like that's different.
- 9:06SPEAKER_01: That's actually a mistake.
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: That's a two bars got wrapped in one, so ooh, twins.
- 9:12SPEAKER_01: There's a twin package situation uh at the cacao on when we wrapped cacao up.
- 9:16SPEAKER_02: So that's awesome.
- 9:17SPEAKER_02: It can happen, so we can't obviously put that out because yeah, well, that'd be a lucky one.
- 9:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 9:23SPEAKER_02: Um, so we have a business, you're fit, you have a gym, you do all the things.
- 9:26SPEAKER_02: So originally we wanted to do this podcast because Matt likes it.
- 9:30SPEAKER_02: We like to stir up some controversy in the health and fitness space.
- 9:33SPEAKER_03: Correct.
- 9:33SPEAKER_02: Uh so we're gonna do that as well.
- 9:35SPEAKER_02: We're gonna get into that real soon.
- 9:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but I also want people to know, because you're obviously super busy, but you take your health and fitness very seriously.
- 9:43SPEAKER_02: So, where do you find the time or how do you find the time?
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: I feel I again, great question.
- 9:49SPEAKER_01: And I everybody that says again, great question always feels like they're stalling, but it is true.
- 9:55SPEAKER_01: I I think about all the podcasts I've done, and it's a priority, right?
- 9:58SPEAKER_01: Like, I can't tell you how many people I've had on the show, and I think I've done like 227 episodes.
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: And when you get into root yeah, when you get into like root routine rituals and consistency from people all across the board, whether they're fit or not.
- 10:12SPEAKER_01: And most successful people, like this is gonna sound maybe a stirring of the pot already, but let's go.
- 10:16SPEAKER_01: Let's go! Most successful people have a routine, authentic routine.
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: And if they don't, you know, it's it's it's even to hey, like go for a walk, do something where you move your body, whenever it is.
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: Um so I think you know, the biggest thing for me, I've always it's tough for me to sit still.
- 10:34SPEAKER_01: I've always been active.
- 10:35SPEAKER_01: I was too hyperactive as a as a young kid to play any of those youth sports because I was like, oh, yeah, squirrel, oh, and yeah, I would be all over the place.
- 10:42SPEAKER_01: And I wanted to go catch an animal, and they're like, feel like you need tennis.
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: Outfield's not for real.
- 10:54SPEAKER_01: So um, yeah, always been active, and I think you know, getting sober and having that outlet was huge for me because um my mind is always like this.
- 11:05SPEAKER_01: Um and and lately, uh, one of the biggest things in addition to the fitness and the cold, you know, going into the iceberg.
- 11:13SPEAKER_02: You're a fan of the cold blood for sure.
- 11:15SPEAKER_01: Like the sauna, and and that's more recent because someone else put me onto that.
- 11:20SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 11:21SPEAKER_01: But I think even I've gotten so um so much better, and this is a big struggle for me with meditation and breathing and following, and like I like a guided breathing app.
- 11:31SPEAKER_01: Some people don't like that breathing.
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: I like those two.
- 11:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I love a guided breathing.
- 11:34SPEAKER_02: Because all these world thoughts, if I say that by myself.
- 11:36SPEAKER_01: And it's like just talking me through it, breath holds, 35 breaths, then a hold, then a deep breath, and repeat.
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: And a combination of so many things makes me feel good, right?
- 11:48SPEAKER_01: And and i again, I always try to be aware and conscious of not beating myself up if I miss it, or if I have something else going on, but finding the time to do it during the day.
- 11:58SPEAKER_01: I love doing everything in the morning prior to my day starting because if I don't, and there's things that come up, I don't want to rush from this to that to this to that, where it's like, hey, I woke up, I did, you know, drank my water, I did my prayers, my meditations, my journaling.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: Um, I you know drank my morning drink, which, you know, I you know, you know what that is, and it's a combination of you know, vitamins and everything like that, and then you know, I have my caffeine an hour or an hour and a half after eat my food.
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: But it's funny, you actually said something on one of your recent um Instagram posts where sometimes I do it, but usually I have like a little like 11 or 12 o'clock Celsius type of deal with caffeine, but I always make sure to eat proper food before caffeine.
- 12:39SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 12:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but in the morning it's like I have my drink and sometimes I'll have my overnight oats or something, but it's usually coffee an hour and a half after I wake up because it works for me.
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, um, I don't know if it's wracking up.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: That's what most should do is 60 to 90 minutes after waking up.
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: I don't know if it's wrecking my gut because like I don't have food in there yet.
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: But sometimes I just don't want to eat until you know I'm up at like 4, 4.15.
- 13:02SPEAKER_01: I don't want to eat until like 7.38, and I have my coffee before that.
- 13:07SPEAKER_02: You're up so early.
- 13:08SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 13:08SPEAKER_02: What time do you go to bed?
- 13:10SPEAKER_01: I aim we aim to wind down.
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: Like we're perfect for living in Florida, we're like senior citizens.
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: We eat sometimes we eat dinner at like five, five thirty.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: Love it.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: We go for a walk, and I usually don't have anything in like water or anything until you know, I uh up until about seven.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: So I say like if the latest I'm falling asleep is not at nine o'clock is great, but there's times I'm you know it's like still light out and I'm going to bed.
- 13:33SPEAKER_02: Nice.
- 13:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:34SPEAKER_02: I mean, I've had some of those, some of those moments too, but I think you have to if you're getting up so early that still gets you seven hours, eight hours.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: Six, seven hours.
- 13:41SPEAKER_01: Sometimes I'm alone at six, but yeah, I aim for seven and change.
- 13:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:45SPEAKER_02: So for those listening who are like, I'm not getting up at 4 a.m.
- 13:47SPEAKER_02: Like, I'm not part of the 4 a.m.
- 13:49SPEAKER_02: club either.
- 13:49SPEAKER_02: I'm not, but I am part of the camp where I like to get my workout done in the morning.
- 13:54SPEAKER_02: I like to get the the self-care practices out of the way first because then you're kind of reactive to the day or not reactive to the day.
- 14:03SPEAKER_02: You can kind of go with the flow of the day instead of reacting to what's happening to it, you're more level-headed.
- 14:09SPEAKER_02: And like, like you said, if the day blows up and you can't hit your workout, you're not really stressing because you've already got it done, right?
- 14:15SPEAKER_02: Um, so I I do that too.
- 14:16SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 14:17SPEAKER_02: The caffeine.
- 14:18SPEAKER_02: So this is not this is a controversy, but not really uh already diving into it.
- 14:21SPEAKER_02: The fasting and stuff, I feel like is better, way better for men, way better for men than women.
- 14:25SPEAKER_02: So for you doing it, I'm not sitting here like I hate it.
- 14:28SPEAKER_02: Like, do your thing.
- 14:29SPEAKER_02: If you don't have any stomach discomfort with the caffeine, maybe you're okay.
- 14:32SPEAKER_02: You're not eating like trash all the time, no alcohol, so nothing else is gonna tear up your stomach lining, right?
- 14:38SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 14:38SPEAKER_02: So that might not be as a big effect as say other people who are downing a bunch of tequila like myself.
- 14:46SPEAKER_02: How many?
- 14:47SPEAKER_02: I think you posted it, I don't remember when you posted it, but I do remember seeing it.
- 14:50SPEAKER_02: How many years have you been now?
- 14:51SPEAKER_01: Uh it was 13 years in May.
- 14:54SPEAKER_02: Amazing.
- 14:55SPEAKER_02: 13 years over, amazing.
- 14:57SPEAKER_02: And I know a lot of people will say, which is crazy moving to Austin, like Florida is a very big party, like downtown area, right?
- 15:04SPEAKER_02: Like so much strength.
- 15:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 15:06SPEAKER_02: It's uh and you found your whole crew where you guys like you don't even have that really anymore, right?
- 15:13SPEAKER_01: Like not even No, I mean, you know, the only, you know, a lot of people, a lot of my friends are sober, but a lot of I know a lot of people that aren't, and and it doesn't matter if like I go out with them, you know, if they drink it doesn't bother me.
- 15:24SPEAKER_01: You know, uh I think I know, you know, in the beginning I tried not to be around that and not to be like out because it's you know the common saying is like you know, you hang around a barber shop, eventually you're gonna get your hair cut.
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: Oh, I like that.
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: I haven't heard of that.
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: But yeah, yeah, I mean, like it really doesn't affect me, and you know, like Chelsea doesn't really drink.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: I guess you may have a glass of wine here and there, but you know, the I I say that those people are normal, like you can do that, and like I'm happy to hang around it.
- 15:49SPEAKER_01: When it gets uncomfortable for me is when I'm around those people, maybe they've overserved themselves and I start to slur or kind of get a little sloppy, it reminds me of me and it makes me uncomfortable, and it has nothing to do with them.
- 16:01SPEAKER_01: I just need to I just need to remove myself.
- 16:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that makes sense.
- 16:06SPEAKER_01: Your self-awareness is huge there to like realize that.
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: Um, because I don't want to, you know, I don't want anybody to get uncomfortable and like blame me for their discomfort, which I know it has nothing to do with me, but like if it gets to that point, I'm like, yeah, gotta go.
- 16:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but uh yeah, I you know, like I said, you're you're moving to Austin.
- 16:25SPEAKER_01: I'm so pumped because I I I told y'all like our first experience there, I was like, when are we moving here?
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 16:34SPEAKER_01: It is so much fun, and I know so.
- 16:37SPEAKER_01: It's very active.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: Uh great music scene, a great fitness scene, great food scene, great entrepreneur scene, entrepreneur scene.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: Like there is so much going on in that city, and it is exploding, even like outside of the city.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: Like, there's so many good people that I've met in the last couple years that I stayed in touch with.
- 16:55SPEAKER_01: You know, when I go to Austin, I can see so many people, and you're gonna be another one of them.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: Like, next time it's like you know, I'll hang out with some guys and play pickleball, and then I'll go run over to my buddy's dream at Squatch, and then I'll pop by you know on it, and then I'll go to you know, collective, and everybody's great there, everybody's welcoming.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: It's it's a really, really fun city.
- 17:13SPEAKER_02: It's funny because I went there last year for a seminar or the year before, and I didn't like it when I was first there.
- 17:19SPEAKER_02: But I was staying, and we were staying on South Congress in the W, which is a fun area, but we were there for like a conference, so we couldn't really party.
- 17:27SPEAKER_02: Like the food was great, I will say the food was great.
- 17:29SPEAKER_02: I don't know how many times a day I can have tacos, I will say, but every day and every time.
- 17:35SPEAKER_02: But I didn't love it.
- 17:36SPEAKER_02: I was like, I don't understand why people are getting that thing with Austin.
- 17:39SPEAKER_02: And then my girlfriend moved there, one of my good girlfriends, earlier this year, and I went out twice to visit her for a concert for one and just Cinco to Mayo to see her new place and get out and get away from South Florida.
- 17:49SPEAKER_02: And I was like, okay, now I kind of understand.
- 17:51SPEAKER_02: There were so many coffee spots that we went to.
- 17:53SPEAKER_02: I thought it was super cool how we have five women all do the same thing, different companies, all working together at a coffee shop, helping one another.
- 18:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and I was like, you will not find that in South Florida.
- 18:03SPEAKER_02: Or like maybe you can, but I haven't been able to, right?
- 18:07SPEAKER_02: It's very lonely work from home.
- 18:09SPEAKER_02: Um, so having more entrepreneur goal-minded people instead of the materialistic superficiality.
- 18:18SPEAKER_02: You might find that too.
- 18:20SPEAKER_02: A lot of people are moving there, so it's all it's all gonna shift, but it's just time for a change.
- 18:25SPEAKER_02: And so it's a great place to change too.
- 18:27SPEAKER_02: Yay, can't wait for you guys to visit.
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: You're gonna have a great time.
- 18:30SPEAKER_02: So that's gonna be like the next venture, which will be awesome, and we'll be chatting from there.
- 18:35SPEAKER_02: Um, but as far as as far as like what's next, before we jump into all the I don't even know what stir of the pot stuff we're gonna get into.
- 18:44SPEAKER_02: I'm almost wondering like what you want to talk about, what topics you want to bring up.
- 18:49SPEAKER_02: We had a phone call when we were booking this podcast, and he's like, I want to let's like let's jump into this, and I don't know how to do it.
- 18:54SPEAKER_01: I think it was like one of your posts, and it was just something I was like, oh yeah, she got all fired up, and I was like, Yeah, I want to talk about that again.
- 19:01SPEAKER_01: Can't remember.
- 19:03SPEAKER_02: People get so fired up about the most random, like something I think is so dumb will get the most hate on Instagram or in the comments or Facebook or TikTok because you're on the mall, because you're a I'm a content creator now, I'm not a coach, right?
- 19:16SPEAKER_02: Um peanut butter was like a huge one.
- 19:18SPEAKER_02: And I know we were like talking because of the bars are made with with um, I commented on it.
- 19:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I commented under it, and I was just like, yeah, it was like a cool story on peanut butter.
- 19:27SPEAKER_01: Cool, that's awesome.
- 19:29SPEAKER_01: Gut health, I get it.
- 19:30SPEAKER_02: That's not even what it was.
- 19:32SPEAKER_01: Like, how do we dispute, you know, something getting, you know, the most most consumed item stuck into coffee?
- 19:38SPEAKER_01: How do we how do we how do we knock that?
- 19:41SPEAKER_01: But whatever, that's fine.
- 19:42SPEAKER_01: No, that wasn't even allergies.
- 19:44SPEAKER_02: I would the comments got so crazy.
- 19:46SPEAKER_02: All I remember saying was like it's not an efficient source of protein, and people were like, the pesticides on the trees, and I was like, what?
- 19:53SPEAKER_02: How did we get here?
- 19:55SPEAKER_02: Like every other thing is probably in pesticides, but that's fine.
- 19:58SPEAKER_02: But it was so crazy, and I was like, let's like leave that there.
- 20:01SPEAKER_02: Um, oh my goodness.
- 20:03SPEAKER_02: But as far as like professionally or even personally, like, I know you gotta probably have another goal set up.
- 20:08SPEAKER_02: What's your next adventure?
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: You know, it's interesting.
- 20:11SPEAKER_01: Uh, with the fitness side of things, I had a buddy reach out and he's like, hey man, I need some accountability.
- 20:16SPEAKER_01: Um, can we do a workout in the morning?
- 20:18SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, yeah, and I haven't really like I still get up and do my thing.
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: And you know, I used to get up and run most mornings or bike, you know, when I was training for the Iron Man, and then after I got sick after the last big race, I just kind of like I don't want to do anything.
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: And like it's a commitment when you do those things.
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: I don't know if I like a full I I might do one, but I just know it's not fair to everything else that I like to do.
- 20:39SPEAKER_01: And you know, talking to my friends that are serious uh iron iron women, iron men, an iron athlete, whatever you want to call it.
- 20:48SPEAKER_01: Um I mean, my buddy basically painted a picture where I was like, man, that that doesn't sound like fun for me.
- 20:53SPEAKER_01: He's like, Yeah, you'll get up and you'll do a three-hour ride, and then it's so hot down here that you know later in the day you're gonna hop on your bike, your your indoor bike, and you're gonna you're gonna go for another three hours to get your legs used to that volume.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: And I said, And then the thought of running another marathon, I was like, mmm.
- 21:11SPEAKER_01: I will do some sprints, I'll do some fundraises, I'll, you know, one of my buddies is like, hey, let's do a 5k, and I was like, oh, we'll lightly jog.
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: The minute I stepped out there, I was like, I'm gonna fucking beat you.
- 21:21SPEAKER_03: Five minute mile!
- 21:23SPEAKER_01: We're gonna fly and we're gonna be done with this in like 17 minutes.
- 21:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:27SPEAKER_01: Um So like there is that level of competition.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: So like, you know, fitness for me, it's been great.
- 21:33SPEAKER_01: These guys, we we meet Monday, Wednesday, Friday.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, five fifth 5.15, 5 30 start, we're done, we're in the ice barrel, and the day starts.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: Um so I I've been really enjoying that, that kind of latest thing of the last two months.
- 21:46SPEAKER_01: In terms of you know, other fitness goals, uh you know, I I sat on the fence for you know trying to train for an iron thinking about the iron, and I don't think anytime soon that that may change because I feel great right now.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: For a while I did not feel good.
- 22:01SPEAKER_01: My body was broken.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: I had a chance to talk with um the Iron Cowboy, the guy that did a hundred uh hundred mile races?
- 22:07SPEAKER_01: Those are nuts.
- 22:08SPEAKER_01: He did no, he did a hundred Iron Man races back to back to back a hundred days straight.
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: And I talked to him down in Miami at the beginning of the year.
- 22:16SPEAKER_01: And I was like, dude, what's that?
- 22:18SPEAKER_01: Screamed around though.
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 22:20SPEAKER_01: I I said, what an accomplishment.
- 22:21SPEAKER_01: And he goes, I'll be honest with you.
- 22:23SPEAKER_01: He goes, and I've talked about this in public.
- 22:26SPEAKER_01: He goes, I'm still recovering.
- 22:30SPEAKER_01: I've had several surgeries, but mentally I was not in a good place.
- 22:35SPEAKER_01: It almost ruined this, this, this.
- 22:37SPEAKER_01: And I was like, yeah, but you did it.
- 22:39SPEAKER_02: How long ago is he, was it?
- 22:44SPEAKER_01: He I I I think it was like within like the last couple of years.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: It was crazy.
- 22:48SPEAKER_01: I, you know, the iron, you know, the Iron Man people were like, don't call it that because you're not doing it, because he had to find a place to do it.
- 22:55SPEAKER_01: Sometimes he'd you know swim and laps in a pool, but he was doing the distances and completing them, and he was still doing it.
- 23:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:02SPEAKER_01: And it's like, okay, how are you gonna how are you gonna tell a guy that did literally because they're not gonna do it?
- 23:08SPEAKER_01: They're not doing it.
- 23:09SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 23:09SPEAKER_01: So I think you know, I think competition or I think something having a goal is great, you know, even with these workouts, like I was telling you before we started this podcast, like, you know, I I want to do this workout.
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: If it's a 20-minute workout, I want to see if I can get it down to you know 18, 17, 16.
- 23:25SPEAKER_01: And then and then change and then maybe change it.
- 23:27SPEAKER_01: Um so I think you know, those are good professionally.
- 23:29SPEAKER_01: You know, uh, we're you know, we've been really trying with the retail space um and trying to get it out there and trying to get some more big box retailers.
- 23:36SPEAKER_01: Um and I just want to get out there and start traveling some more and you know, doing what I did here is just doing demos in stores and meeting people and going to fun cities like Austin or going to Chicago or whatever and just downloading the product and sharing the story.
- 23:50SPEAKER_01: And um, you know, we just restarted the foundation back up because we we didn't realize when we started the FroPro Foundation several years ago that it was like a full-time job, and both Chelsea and I were like, we didn't have time.
- 24:03SPEAKER_01: So it was just one of those things where we kind of had to we did it to help raise money for friends raising money because other people like didn't know them, and we just said, Alright, if we start something and people donate, we'll just donate whatever we get to this organization.
- 24:15SPEAKER_01: That's kind of how we it was like a pass goal, yeah.
- 24:18SPEAKER_01: And then we had someone that was just like, hey, like I think this could be really something.
- 24:21SPEAKER_01: And I've always in the back of my mind wanted to do this differently.
- 24:26SPEAKER_01: Um where essentially with the Froco Foundation, you know, coming out of sobriety stuff, right?
- 24:32SPEAKER_01: You go to these treatment centers or you just go to you know some form of fellowship, an AA or NA or whatever it is that you're struggling with, you get sober, and then sometimes you're in a really bad place where you're you don't know what to do, where you've lost the ability.
- 24:42SPEAKER_01: Like I couldn't go back into a school and teach.
- 24:45SPEAKER_01: Because they're like, Yeah, like we think you're great, but the parents will be like, Who did you just hire?
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: Like, why did you just hire him?
- 24:52SPEAKER_01: And what especially today with everyone being so touchy.
- 24:57SPEAKER_01: So even there's a stir in the pot.
- 24:59SPEAKER_01: It's even more woke than it was back in the day.
- 25:02SPEAKER_01: But I think, you know, what's great about this is you know, and it's not an original thought.
- 25:07SPEAKER_01: I got it from, you know, uh kind of I think Portugal that decriminalized alcohol and drugs.
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: Now that part's not going well for them 20-something years later.
- 25:14SPEAKER_01: Well, however, we see how that's going on the West Coast as well.
- 25:17SPEAKER_01: Right, but what they did was instead of putting people in jail or whatever, it's like they gave them the opportunity to go to treatment.
- 25:25SPEAKER_01: And then they worked with local essentially, like if you were a mechanic and you just like were shit on your luck and you could pass over and you had nowhere to go and no one to trust, you essentially got the opportunity to go work and someone would cover the cost so that an employee will take on a new employee, train them, mentor them, not worry about it because we're gonna step in and cover the cost, and then hopefully it translates to a full-time job with that person in that business and their field of expertise, where that person says, you know what, I'm gonna go start my own thing.
- 25:57SPEAKER_01: So I think it's gonna provide a second chance or another way for somebody to come out and be like, all right, I need a job.
- 26:04SPEAKER_01: And some people are hesitant.
- 26:06SPEAKER_01: There's some businesses down here that get the wholesaler thing and get the whole let's try and get these people like another brand, Dave's killer bread.
- 26:12SPEAKER_01: I mean, that's he came out of jail, he was a felon, and he started baking and built up this company, sold it, but they still employ felons coming out of jail, like no one wants to hire that.
- 26:22SPEAKER_01: I went to dynamic, and like it's it's people buck up and they get a chance to hopefully get a redo and get a redo and do something that they love.
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: And I was like, again, not an authentic idea, but like something I was like, man, we can do that down here because there's a lot of people like I don't want to again not disturb the podcast, I don't want to go work at a phone room.
- 26:41SPEAKER_02: That's what this whole podcast is for.
- 26:43SPEAKER_02: Just let it out.
- 26:44SPEAKER_01: I don't want to go work in a phone room, and nothing wrong with that.
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: I don't want to go.
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: No, I couldn't even.
- 26:48SPEAKER_01: I don't want to go work at a job where it's like gray area.
- 26:51SPEAKER_01: Is this legal?
- 26:52SPEAKER_01: Is this not?
- 26:53SPEAKER_01: Do I feel good about this?
- 26:54SPEAKER_01: Because you want to encourage them to do something that's that that feels good and not be like, uh yeah, I got this job because it pays me really well, but I'm I kinda I'm kind of lying.
- 27:05SPEAKER_02: Well, a lot of that too is like an escapism, sometimes numbing type of thing, right?
- 27:10SPEAKER_02: A coping, some of the things, right?
- 27:12SPEAKER_02: So if you're gonna be stuck within four walls of an office or of a cubicle, like that's just going to enhance even more.
- 27:19SPEAKER_02: So I think even for myself, like a pharmacy, even though I was semi-working with hands, I was stuck in a box for 12 hours a day, right?
- 27:26SPEAKER_02: I needed to escape, like you need to get out somehow when you're dealing with the public.
- 27:31SPEAKER_02: I think doing something that's an activity or even the mechanic thing, like all of that is great.
- 27:36SPEAKER_02: So just a purpose, having a purpose again is amazing.
- 27:39SPEAKER_01: Well, I think too, it's you know, in coming, incoming.
- 27:42SPEAKER_01: I was just talking with someone about that.
- 27:44SPEAKER_01: It's I I think a lot of people don't realize, like, you know, if they have a dream of doing something, again, they might have uh they might have a different situation of kids, you know, going, you know, having a partner, not having a partner, whatever, sick family member, whatever it is, and they're just like, I'm never gonna do what I want to do.
- 28:02SPEAKER_01: I'm never gonna come out of the box because it's a scary thing.
- 28:05SPEAKER_01: I'm never gonna leave this company that's paying me six figures.
- 28:09SPEAKER_01: Six figures, whoever thought.
- 28:11SPEAKER_01: I mean, and I'm just again, I'm just speaking from my experience where I was like, I never knew that.
- 28:15SPEAKER_01: Like, I thought, you know, as a teacher, you know, coming down here from public school or private school, they're like, hey, you're gonna start at$45,000 a year.
- 28:22SPEAKER_01: I was like, oh my god, aren't you serious?
- 28:24SPEAKER_01: Are you what?
- 28:25SPEAKER_01: I gonna get a what uh I'm stoked.
- 28:30SPEAKER_01: And then it's funny, you talk to guys that are super successful that are retired, and I've like met a bunch of them down here in my travels, and they're like, What did you do before Frog?
- 28:37SPEAKER_01: I was like, I was a teacher.
- 28:38SPEAKER_01: They're like, Oh, were you tired being poor?
- 28:41SPEAKER_01: And I was like, Zang! And they're like, Well, but they're very underpaid in Florida, right?
- 28:46SPEAKER_01: Well, anywhere, anywhere, but especially in Florida.
- 28:48SPEAKER_01: And like, I was like, that's harsh.
- 28:49SPEAKER_01: And he's like, Well, I say that because you know, and the guy was like, I say that because my one of my family members is a teacher.
- 28:54SPEAKER_01: She busts her ass and she gets paid nothing, and she she works like when you break it down, like teachers go above and beyond and pay for shit that they don't need to, and it's like so such an underpaid position, and you know, it's just frightening.
- 29:09SPEAKER_01: Like, if you have a skill or a talent, you're an athlete, you're getting paid billion, millions, billions, whatever.
- 29:13SPEAKER_01: That's that's awesome.
- 29:14SPEAKER_01: That's so great.
- 29:15SPEAKER_01: But like you're entertaining the world.
- 29:18SPEAKER_01: Oh, entertainment gets paid a lot.
- 29:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I and it's so it's you know, do I think that's as backwards?
- 29:23SPEAKER_01: Maybe.
- 29:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, do I think a lot of people you know, if they you know, if they continue, and and and and even today, like things have changed, and the burnout rate is even more.
- 29:32SPEAKER_01: Like, I lasted seven or eight years before I was, you know, six.
- 29:36SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 29:36SPEAKER_01: I I made, you know, I made some poor choices where I was like, alright, I gotta start my life.
- 29:42SPEAKER_01: Like I was pretty exhausted, even though like I loved what I did.
- 29:46SPEAKER_02: I think that's the other thing too, is you went into that profession for like following a passion, right?
- 29:50SPEAKER_02: Like you like to help people you like to teach, and then it's just the society, corporate, whatever of it that made it awful, right?
- 29:56SPEAKER_02: Like I have clients who are teachers, and I'm like, what you guys do and deal with on a day-to-day basis, and now with like the parents and all that stuff, well, you're dealing with so much.
- 30:04SPEAKER_01: It's like office space.
- 30:05SPEAKER_01: You have like three different things.
- 30:07SPEAKER_01: You deal with administration, yeah, you deal with your coworkers, you deal with four things, you're like the parents and the kids and the kids, yeah.
- 30:14SPEAKER_01: And you're like, that's a lot.
- 30:16SPEAKER_01: It's like why why did I sign up for this?
- 30:19SPEAKER_01: But you know, you have a passion for it and you love it.
- 30:21SPEAKER_01: I know teachers that are still, you know, 20, 30 years in.
- 30:23SPEAKER_01: My brother's in in higher ed, and he's always been like a renaissance man, he does all these different things, but even he's at the point, and he's been teaching remote for years, and doing these different things and challenging these kids to think, and he's like, I can't challenge anymore.
- 30:38SPEAKER_01: I get such static from kids and parents or parents' ideas in their kids' head of like, you can't ask me that.
- 30:48SPEAKER_01: And and he's like, Why am I here?
- 30:49SPEAKER_01: Do we just no?
- 30:50SPEAKER_01: He's like, Do I just regurgitate?
- 30:52SPEAKER_01: Do I just throw shit at all?
- 30:54SPEAKER_02: You test for you you teach for the test.
- 30:56SPEAKER_01: That was my biggest beef though.
- 30:57SPEAKER_01: As like you bringing that up.
- 30:58SPEAKER_01: I remember we were I love doing shit and like getting everyone involved in it once standardized testing.
- 31:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we had a prep.
- 31:05SPEAKER_01: Watching the kids just like come in, open a book, and just like it's the worst.
- 31:10SPEAKER_01: It was brutal.
- 31:12unknown: Yeah.
- 31:12SPEAKER_01: I don't wish I I think it's again stirring the buttons.
- 31:16SPEAKER_01: I think it's a silly way.
- 31:17SPEAKER_01: Um, but I do think you know people need to be accountable.
- 31:20SPEAKER_01: But I think you know, I was a terrible, terrible tester because I would just get so anxious and I couldn't sit still.
- 31:27SPEAKER_01: Like I remember one test, I think my my I and I love Spanish.
- 31:32SPEAKER_01: I love speaking it.
- 31:32SPEAKER_01: I went abroad.
- 31:33SPEAKER_01: That's amazing in high school.
- 31:36SPEAKER_01: I got to the end, I got that was my last test of like I think junior year.
- 31:41SPEAKER_01: And my two I remember the disappointment, the look of disappointment on a teacher's face.
- 31:45SPEAKER_01: I walked in there and I filled out as everything as fast as I could.
- 31:48SPEAKER_01: I was out of that exam in 10 minutes, and I just cared all I cared about was passing.
- 31:52SPEAKER_01: I didn't care about doing well.
- 31:54SPEAKER_01: I said, I'm fucking done taking tests.
- 31:56SPEAKER_01: I passed.
- 31:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the only thing I ever sucked at uh I had to retake was Earth Science.
- 32:02SPEAKER_01: Just because I couldn't sit there and like talk about rocks.
- 32:04SPEAKER_02: Learn about the volcanoes?
- 32:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I couldn't do it.
- 32:06SPEAKER_02: I think I think it goes on both spectrums because I might be the complete opposite.
- 32:10SPEAKER_02: Obviously, I remember some of the information, but I was also someone who had like loved tests because I got to prove myself almost.
- 32:17SPEAKER_02: But just because you can remember and regurgitate doesn't mean it sticks.
- 32:22SPEAKER_01: I know the answer.
- 32:23SPEAKER_01: I know the thing.
- 32:23SPEAKER_01: I didn't have pigtails.
- 32:24SPEAKER_02: That usually I was a teacher's pet.
- 32:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 32:26SPEAKER_02: Until like fifth grade.
- 32:28SPEAKER_01: Well, that's a funny thing because fourth grade is right around, I always say fourth grade is right around the time where you see the change in kids.
- 32:35SPEAKER_01: Like I had one kid, and it just looked like he like walked in and just literally put out a cigarette butt and walked in.
- 32:41SPEAKER_01: Oh god.
- 32:41SPEAKER_01: I saw Mr.
- 32:42SPEAKER_01: Williams, and then I had like the cutest little kids that are like, Hey, St.
- 32:45SPEAKER_01: Williams, how's it going?
- 32:46SPEAKER_01: Like, oh my god, I have the best lunch today.
- 32:48SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, this is such a weird what area was this?
- 32:50SPEAKER_01: This here.
- 32:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but where what school?
- 32:53SPEAKER_02: St.
- 32:53SPEAKER_02: Andrews.
- 32:54SPEAKER_02: Okay, so you have Espoka.
- 32:55SPEAKER_01: Right, but I had no, I had like four-three kids, and like the dining, like the the age, the same age, but a little bit different.
- 33:03SPEAKER_01: Like this dude was, and it's usually the other way around.
- 33:05SPEAKER_01: Like the girls are always like more like aware.
- 33:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 33:08SPEAKER_01: Like this guy was like hanging out, like a bro.
- 33:11SPEAKER_01: He's seeing some things.
- 33:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he had seen some things.
- 33:14SPEAKER_01: And there were these other kids, like these little key kids.
- 33:16SPEAKER_01: It was just weird.
- 33:17SPEAKER_01: And like fourth grade, I feel is like when they start to be, they start to figure out that like I can be an asshole.
- 33:23SPEAKER_01: I can be a little shit.
- 33:24SPEAKER_01: I feel like boys figure that out way sooner.
- 33:26SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 33:27SPEAKER_01: I can I can I can like push the envelope.
- 33:29SPEAKER_01: Um, and it's great.
- 33:31SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's so funny.
- 33:32SPEAKER_01: Like, all those kids that I taught are now, you know, adults.
- 33:35SPEAKER_01: You know, some of them are getting married, some of them are working.
- 33:38SPEAKER_01: Mr.
- 33:38SPEAKER_01: Williams.
- 33:39SPEAKER_01: It's insane.
- 33:39SPEAKER_01: Like, I you know, social media, you you just you see what's going on.
- 33:42SPEAKER_02: It's a great thing and a horrible thing.
- 33:45SPEAKER_02: But have you seen the the reels on social media of like the the people who test them?
- 33:49SPEAKER_02: Like, how many how many stars does the flag have?
- 33:51SPEAKER_02: And they're like, 47.
- 33:54SPEAKER_02: Talking about that today.
- 33:56SPEAKER_01: Like the guy that holds his phone up and he asks questions, and you're like, And there's like, yes.
- 34:00SPEAKER_02: Like he tells all of them they're right and they're not right.
- 34:02SPEAKER_01: But it promotes the exact thing, right?
- 34:04SPEAKER_01: You don't need to know it, you don't need to retain information anymore because you have this.
- 34:08SPEAKER_01: You do, but what do you need to retain?
- 34:10SPEAKER_02: People don't even know how to read a non-digital clock.
- 34:14SPEAKER_01: What do you need to retain?
- 34:16SPEAKER_02: I don't know, just basic life skills.
- 34:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 34:19SPEAKER_02: Like, what if technology goes away?
- 34:20SPEAKER_01: Back in the day, like I would come to you and just be like, hey, I have a question.
- 34:24SPEAKER_01: Like, what do you think?
- 34:24SPEAKER_01: I'd be like, I don't actually need to ask her.
- 34:26SPEAKER_02: I can go and I wish people would Google more things, but I wish.
- 34:31SPEAKER_02: That's the thing.
- 34:32SPEAKER_01: It makes there's a comfort level, like, right, to talk to a professional.
- 34:36SPEAKER_01: But I think you don't, you know, like I remember doing book reports and having to go to the library and encyclopedias.
- 34:41SPEAKER_01: Like, I still feel like when I got so there's no Uber.
- 34:43SPEAKER_01: Like Uber.
- 34:44SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, and you didn't do taxis either because you were like unsafe.
- 34:47SPEAKER_02: You didn't talk to strangers, and now you're riding cars with strangers.
- 34:50SPEAKER_01: That meme is great.
- 34:51SPEAKER_02: Okay for it.
- 34:52SPEAKER_01: That meme is great, and then the other meme is great.
- 34:54SPEAKER_01: It's like, man, I'm so glad I learned the Pythagorean taxis, and we can use that really geometry is.
- 35:00SPEAKER_02: Yes, or mitochondria is the powerhouse itself.
- 35:03SPEAKER_01: We might use that a little bit more than other people in context, but it's just it's it's just it's funny because I don't feel like you have to retain anything.
- 35:10SPEAKER_01: And and I think you know, if you see that uh what is it, that movie, Idiocracy.
- 35:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 35:15SPEAKER_01: And it's just the more we like kind of go down the path we've been going in in the United States right now or in the world, you're like, wow, this is very similar to that movie.
- 35:29SPEAKER_02: Um, another thing that, well, not to like doom doom and gloom this, but another thing that women are saying is gonna be like the future is Handmaid Still.
- 35:36SPEAKER_02: Have you ever watched it?
- 35:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 35:38SPEAKER_02: Not great, but the whole women's rights movement thing.
- 35:41SPEAKER_02: It's getting a little crazy.
- 35:43SPEAKER_02: Well Texas isn't any better than Florida.
- 35:45SPEAKER_02: Moving to a better state.
- 35:47SPEAKER_01: There is uh, yeah, I think there's a lot of methods of control that are starting to come out.
- 35:52SPEAKER_02: It's crazy.
- 35:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 35:53SPEAKER_02: But I think what kids are missing, even though if you can look it up online, you're still missing the critical thinking skills.
- 35:58SPEAKER_02: Like that's why we learned all that crap at school was critical thinking, not necessarily like regurgitation of memory.
- 36:05SPEAKER_02: But there's a there is no critical thinking anymore.
- 36:08SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 36:08SPEAKER_02: You don't know what to do if your phone is dead, right?
- 36:10SPEAKER_02: Like people don't know a lot of things.
- 36:12SPEAKER_02: Um, listen, I am on my phone all the time.
- 36:14SPEAKER_02: My screen time is unsettling with how much I work for my phone these days, but but but that's the difference, right?
- 36:22SPEAKER_01: You're doing something for your career, you're doing something for the entertainment side, you're doing something that promotes your brand and your your your connection to people.
- 36:34SPEAKER_01: I can't, I don't, I I I'm I'm terrible.
- 36:36SPEAKER_01: I don't watch stories.
- 36:37SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry, I should say there's a couple people I watch because they entertain me, you being one of them.
- 36:42SPEAKER_02: Now he's lying for the job.
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: Like 20 stories a day.
- 36:46SPEAKER_00: I know it's like I wonder what she's gonna do today, and like the you know, it's like you know the pelvic thrust on the ground and jumping up.
- 36:53SPEAKER_02: I'm so annoyed with the miss the marketing and the misinformation on social media so much.
- 36:58SPEAKER_01: But I think you know, it's it's you know, one of my buddies said it perfectly, and he's an influencer and he's does very well and sponsored by a lot of people.
- 37:06SPEAKER_01: That's awesome.
- 37:06SPEAKER_01: And he's just like, and the nicest way I don't watch stories because like I create the content, I put it out there, and then I go about my day.
- 37:12SPEAKER_01: And my phone goes away.
- 37:13SPEAKER_01: And his phone is um do not disturb.
- 37:15SPEAKER_01: So if you can catch him, it's amazing.
- 37:17SPEAKER_01: And there's certain times where I know I'm gonna catch him here because it's right before he's so routine.
- 37:22SPEAKER_01: Um, but I think you know that's one of the biggest things is you know, you can use it for harm or you can use it for good.
- 37:28SPEAKER_01: And and I try to use it for as much good.
- 37:29SPEAKER_02: And there's times I just I would say you use it for good.
- 37:31SPEAKER_02: You post inspirational, motivational things.
- 37:33SPEAKER_01: And people, you know, I again I get shit on for that too.
- 37:36SPEAKER_01: And it's just like, are you always like that?
- 37:38SPEAKER_01: I'm like, no, and this isn't a highlight, real.
- 37:40SPEAKER_01: Like, I've gone in there and gone on rants, but like I also put up positive stuff because like that's what I'm feeling.
- 37:45SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't like hey, I wanted to pop on your eyes, like you know.
- 37:48SPEAKER_00: You're crying.
- 37:49SPEAKER_00: I wanted to pop on your awful.
- 37:52SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, I'm not I would love, please.
- 37:55SPEAKER_02: I'm not I've done some funny videos that even like You posted one recently that I was like laughing at, just the audio.
- 38:02SPEAKER_01: Right, and and and again, it's fun to reenact some funny videos and make fun content because it's it genuinely brings me joy.
- 38:12SPEAKER_01: But sometimes it it, you know, like the way I say it, I think it's funny, but like again.
- 38:17SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, you'll piss people off.
- 38:18SPEAKER_01: No, I think it's not even like starting the thought, but it just it can come across as even though I mean it, it can come across as like oh shit, you know.
- 38:29SPEAKER_01: And I'm not trying to elicit an oh shit.
- 38:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 38:32SPEAKER_01: Uh I'm I'm just trying to be like, you know, people don't, you know, we have people that read, you know, write in sometimes, and I've done those testimonials like I've read people's reviews of the product or emails, like, and we and we get them, and you're like, at the end of the day, you don't really realize that there's a person behind the business that you're rational, especially small businesses, right?
- 38:52SPEAKER_01: And I've written back to people's comments on like, hey, like um, I'm sorry the throw-up emoji is your response to my product.
- 38:59SPEAKER_01: Could you maybe describe why and give me some feedback to make it better so that you may have a better experience next time, or maybe try a different flavor.
- 39:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know, and and I've dealt with that since the beginning.
- 39:09SPEAKER_01: I remember I remember one, I remember like one show I did, I was like wrapped, it was like literally I had cacao vanilla and coffee.
- 39:18SPEAKER_01: And I was at a CrossFit event, and this gal came up and she was just like, Oh, what should I try?
- 39:24SPEAKER_01: I was like, Do you like peanut butter?
- 39:25SPEAKER_01: She's like, eh.
- 39:25SPEAKER_01: I was like, man, it might not be for you.
- 39:27SPEAKER_01: She's like, Well, which one should I try?
- 39:28SPEAKER_01: I was like, there's chocolate vanilla coffee.
- 39:32SPEAKER_01: And I was and she's like, Oh, I'll try the coffee.
- 39:34SPEAKER_01: I said, Well, again, just so you know, there's real coffee in it, and it's gonna be like powerful.
- 39:40SPEAKER_01: And she eats it and like kind of like gives a face on like what's up?
- 39:44SPEAKER_01: I was like, Well, what's going on?
- 39:46SPEAKER_01: She's like, it tastes like crap.
- 39:47SPEAKER_02: And I was like, Okay, could elaborate on what the crap tastes like.
- 39:51SPEAKER_01: I have a body behind me.
- 39:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 39:53SPEAKER_01: Who is supportive?
- 39:55SPEAKER_01: And he's standing there and he's just I could feel him like clenching, and I and I'm doing it for you.
- 40:00SPEAKER_01: I did one of these and I was like, it's okay.
- 40:02SPEAKER_01: I said, and and me, I like to, I like to, you know, it's like when someone like does an engagement, like, hi, how are you?
- 40:09SPEAKER_01: How's your day going?
- 40:11SPEAKER_02: You would have been great in the pharmacy, right?
- 40:13SPEAKER_01: But I said, all right, yeah, I was like, okay, so it tastes like could you describe like what you don't like about it?
- 40:18SPEAKER_01: Is it consistency?
- 40:19SPEAKER_01: Is it bitter?
- 40:20SPEAKER_01: Is it the is it the gray?
- 40:21SPEAKER_01: Like we used to do um coffee chunks of like a crunch, people like, yeah, well, it tastes like crap.
- 40:27SPEAKER_01: I was like, right, no, I I got that part the first time you said it.
- 40:32SPEAKER_01: Could you possibly describe the crap you're referring to so maybe I could better understand how to make the product so the only adjective you're getting?
- 40:40SPEAKER_01: And she's like, Yeah, well, I just don't like it, tastes like crap.
- 40:42SPEAKER_02: And I was like, Cool, thanks, Bike.
- 40:45SPEAKER_01: He's like, hey, I was like, I appreciate your feedback.
- 40:47SPEAKER_01: Um, and I I hope you have a good competition.
- 40:50SPEAKER_01: And um, you know, thanks for thanks for everything.
- 40:53SPEAKER_01: And my I I thought my friend was gonna knock this person through the wall, and I was just like, dude, you don't you have no idea.
- 40:59SPEAKER_01: People, and people are entitled to it.
- 41:01SPEAKER_01: You know, when you put something out, just like content, people are entitled to respond any way they want.
- 41:06SPEAKER_02: You're gonna get I think what what something I've learned um in the business realm anyway, it's yeah, 215.
- 41:13SPEAKER_01: No, we're good.
- 41:14SPEAKER_02: Uh-oh.
- 41:15SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 41:16SPEAKER_01: Um keep it going.
- 41:18SPEAKER_02: In the business realm, I think, you know, not only is it not easy, and first of all, like doing a product retail versus a service as well, like, you know, you said you went through doubt with bringing out a uh-oh.
- 41:29SPEAKER_02: Uh-oh.
- 41:30SPEAKER_02: What happened?
- 41:31unknown: Oh my god.
- 41:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we're still gonna.
- 41:38SPEAKER_02: Okay, cool.
- 41:38SPEAKER_02: We're gonna maybe crap on this guy.
- 41:41SPEAKER_01: Dude, I've never seen overload.
- 41:44SPEAKER_01: It's not the 26 minutes, but we still gotta.
- 41:49SPEAKER_01: I've never seen that happen.
- 41:51SPEAKER_01: That's why I want to look at it.
- 41:54SPEAKER_02: Uh I think it'll pick up our voices if not really good.
- 41:57SPEAKER_02: Um, but I was gonna say, not only is starting a business not easy in general, in any form, yeah, we don't need it out in any form or fashion, not just for decoration.
- 42:06SPEAKER_02: Um but then the the kickback and like the thick skin you have to have that you don't you don't anticipate.
- 42:13SPEAKER_02: So even the comments from people on Instagram, the reviews of products, the whatever.
- 42:19SPEAKER_02: Um, like I don't know if you get physically picked apart because uh if you post content, but like I do, I'll be like too big one day, I'll be anorexic another day, I'll be missed another day, you know.
- 42:28SPEAKER_01: And I appreciate that.
- 42:29SPEAKER_01: Like you you talk about that.
- 42:31SPEAKER_02: It's hard though.
- 42:32SPEAKER_02: Like that's had to that's that's been a thing I've had to work through for a lot because you don't want it to hurt your feelings because you're like, I don't even know this person, they don't know me, who cares?
- 42:39SPEAKER_02: But then you're like looking at yourself like, wait, am I small?
- 42:43SPEAKER_02: Am I am I like too big?
- 42:45SPEAKER_02: You know, all those things.
- 42:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I my buddy does that um and he posts it and he's like 47 and and yeah, and people just shred him.
- 42:53SPEAKER_01: And he's he's very, very fit, older guy, and he posts content and abs and everyone's.
- 42:59SPEAKER_02: Well, if you guys post content like that, it's like automatically you're on the stack, right?
- 43:02SPEAKER_02: Like you're on steroids or you're on something crazy.
- 43:04SPEAKER_01: I was just gonna say that's what he gets he gets crushed.
- 43:06SPEAKER_01: Like, oh yeah, cardio and hard work, yeah.
- 43:08SPEAKER_01: Try like the train, you know, the the NR, the trend train, blah blah blah.
- 43:12SPEAKER_01: And then he writes back, he's like, thanks for your thanks for your engagement.
- 43:15SPEAKER_01: I say that.
- 43:16SPEAKER_02: Like, thanks for engagement, making my algorithm go amazing.
- 43:19SPEAKER_01: Appreciate your response and like keep it coming.
- 43:20SPEAKER_01: And it just promotes his page, like it promotes your page, and you get more and more views, and you get more and more.
- 43:25SPEAKER_01: Oh, what is this up to?
- 43:26SPEAKER_01: It's like the same thing that Liver King did, even though he was actually a liar.
- 43:31SPEAKER_01: But that was you know, you can't look away.
- 43:33SPEAKER_01: It's like I always say it's like the whole like the whole thing going on.
- 43:36SPEAKER_01: Not I don't want to talk politics, but like the whole thing going on politics right now.
- 43:41SPEAKER_01: If no one watched, it would matter it wouldn't matter.
- 43:45SPEAKER_01: Like, if no one watched the fucking Kardashians, they would go away.
- 43:49SPEAKER_01: God, I hate them.
- 43:49SPEAKER_01: You know what I'm saying?
- 43:50SPEAKER_01: And I listen, I think it's great that they turned their brand into clothing, into lip care, whatever it is.
- 43:57SPEAKER_01: They turned it into the plant.
- 43:58SPEAKER_01: They know how to monetize, man.
- 44:00SPEAKER_01: But I'm like, if everyone stopped paying attention, they would go away.
- 44:06SPEAKER_01: Like the fact I remember when reality T like I'm older than you and I remember when reality T is outject.
- 44:13SPEAKER_01: You know, it sounds weird saying it's like when my day back in my day.
- 44:17SPEAKER_01: But I remember when reality TV launched, I was in college.
- 44:20SPEAKER_01: And I was like, I remember I sat there, I was like, what is this survivor?
- 44:24SPEAKER_02: Wasn't it like road rules and MTV, like real world stuff too?
- 44:28SPEAKER_01: That was a little like, you know, that was like teenager stuff.
- 44:32SPEAKER_01: The first like on-air live reality competition.
- 44:36SPEAKER_01: And I remember watching it for five minutes and be like, this is fucking dumb.
- 44:41SPEAKER_01: And these people suck.
- 44:43SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna watch it.
- 44:45SPEAKER_01: Like, I like I don't watch the news.
- 44:46SPEAKER_01: No, me neither.
- 44:48SPEAKER_02: That's probably the best mindset hack or brain health hack ever.
- 44:53SPEAKER_02: Like, don't watch it.
- 44:54SPEAKER_01: It's so negative, and it always has been.
- 44:55SPEAKER_01: And it's like, and then you see things like now with like social media where people like Joe Rogan posted, he goes, Does anybody else find this on?
- 45:02SPEAKER_01: And I don't think it was from him, but it was one news channel saying something, then the other thing.
- 45:08SPEAKER_02: Oh, they all say it.
- 45:09SPEAKER_02: And then you're gonna right?
- 45:13SPEAKER_01: And it's just like, are you not convinced that we are in a place that it was you, not me?
- 45:19SPEAKER_01: Um, are we not convinced that we're in a place of like control?
- 45:25SPEAKER_02: Oh, 100%.
- 45:26SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 45:27SPEAKER_02: And now like we've gotten so desensitized to everything that there's aliens and we don't care.
- 45:32SPEAKER_02: Like nobody cares.
- 45:33SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 45:34SPEAKER_02: We're like, cool, can we go?
- 45:35SPEAKER_02: Can we?
- 45:36SPEAKER_02: I don't think it's me.
- 45:37SPEAKER_02: I just saw do not disturb.
- 45:38SPEAKER_00: Mine was on too.
- 45:39SPEAKER_02: Uh-oh, it's on your computer.
- 45:41SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 45:41SPEAKER_02: Look at we're killing it.
- 45:44SPEAKER_00: Do not disturb.
- 45:45SPEAKER_00: Didn't translate.
- 45:46SPEAKER_02: This is why we did in person because I knew it was gonna be crazy.
- 45:48SPEAKER_02: Do not it didn't.
- 45:49SPEAKER_02: So I'll show you how to link it after.
- 45:52SPEAKER_02: I'm terrible.
- 45:53SPEAKER_02: You're not.
- 45:54SPEAKER_02: You're you're older than me, right?
- 45:56SPEAKER_02: The technology just I'm an old guy.
- 45:58SPEAKER_02: I grew up, wait, when did we have MySpace and stuff?
- 46:00SPEAKER_02: Probably high school and middle school was AIM and all that.
- 46:04SPEAKER_01: How old are you?
- 46:05SPEAKER_02: I'll be 35.
- 46:07SPEAKER_02: What?
- 46:08SPEAKER_01: No, that's what I'm saying.
- 46:08SPEAKER_01: Like, I remember getting a MySpace and I was like clearly an adult.
- 46:12SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 46:12SPEAKER_01: I was like out of college.
- 46:14SPEAKER_02: How old are you?
- 46:14SPEAKER_01: I'm 42.
- 46:15SPEAKER_02: Okay, you're seven years older than me.
- 46:17SPEAKER_02: It's not that much.
- 46:18SPEAKER_02: But in technology back then it was.
- 46:19SPEAKER_02: It kind of was.
- 46:20SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 46:20SPEAKER_01: Because my I didn't think I could go on Facebook because I thought it was for college kids.
- 46:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like when I first had college, it was because I had an EDU.
- 46:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, okay.
- 46:27SPEAKER_01: Um someone I was reading something, like you using the EDUs, like as an email, like or something that the guy was like saying it's probably like one of the most like it's like the newest thing that people are bringing back using an eat.edu.
- 46:41SPEAKER_01: I was like, I don't understand that.
- 46:43SPEAKER_01: I was I lost access to mine, so it's not like that's weird.
- 46:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 46:48SPEAKER_02: I don't know, I've never heard of that.
- 46:49SPEAKER_01: I yeah, I kind of was like, is this for real?
- 46:52SPEAKER_02: Now it's more like if you don't have a Gmail account, like who are you?
- 46:55SPEAKER_02: Like, what are you?
- 46:56SPEAKER_02: I have an old school Y mail account because it's too old and everyone has it.
- 46:59SPEAKER_02: I can't change it, and everyone's like, Did you mean Gmail?
- 47:01SPEAKER_02: I'm like, no, I meant Y mail.
- 47:03SPEAKER_01: Because what was your AOL message?
- 47:05SPEAKER_02: Oh god.
- 47:07SPEAKER_01: I know what mine is.
- 47:09SPEAKER_02: I had two, but the most recent I got your okay.
- 47:14SPEAKER_02: I played basketball, right?
- 47:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 47:15SPEAKER_02: And I liked Alan Iverson at the time as well.
- 47:18SPEAKER_02: It was no, I had 0-3, but it was like Lil Bala with L Y L A L L A Zero Three.
- 47:25unknown: What?
- 47:27unknown: Lil Bala.
- 47:29SPEAKER_02: This says I played basketball.
- 47:31SPEAKER_02: My wife was a b G girl.
- 47:34SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 47:35SPEAKER_02: See?
- 47:35SPEAKER_01: And I my nickname was Hoyt, and my name was Hoyt Nuts.
- 47:40SPEAKER_02: There we go.
- 47:40SPEAKER_01: It was very inappropriate.
- 47:41SPEAKER_02: Can you imagine if you're saying that now?
- 47:42SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 47:43SPEAKER_02: Like what email address do I send or podcast?
- 47:45SPEAKER_01: In the uh hoyts.com.
- 47:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 47:48SPEAKER_02: Available on at fropro.com.
- 47:52SPEAKER_01: Hoyt nuts at frobo.com.
- 47:54SPEAKER_02: I think the first one I had was like silver chick something.
- 47:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 47:57SPEAKER_02: Like why?
- 47:58SPEAKER_02: Silver silver.
- 47:59SPEAKER_02: Like, not even that was even out back then.
- 48:01SPEAKER_02: I think I just liked the color silver.
- 48:03SPEAKER_01: Like we were just is silver a color or a shade?
- 48:06SPEAKER_02: Oh god.
- 48:07SPEAKER_02: I think it's a color.
- 48:08SPEAKER_02: It's a color, right?
- 48:09SPEAKER_02: Because it's because gold is a color.
- 48:11SPEAKER_01: White.
- 48:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right.
- 48:13SPEAKER_01: Because it's white, black, red, and shades.
- 48:16SPEAKER_02: I don't know what I'm gonna title this podcast.
- 48:19SPEAKER_00: Random shade.
- 48:20SPEAKER_02: Is silver a color?
- 48:22SPEAKER_00: That's a good time.
- 48:23SPEAKER_02: I feel like we need to wrap this up in some form or fashion.
- 48:26SPEAKER_02: Um, okay, so what would you?
- 48:29SPEAKER_02: I like to ask this to people on the podcast when now that I have guests and I've asked all my coaches, so I'm gonna ask you as well.
- 48:34SPEAKER_02: What is something in the health and fitness industry, whether it be business side, whatever, um snack side, or your own fitness, that you think is very heavily understood or misunderstood that you would like to put out there?
- 48:50SPEAKER_01: Oh, we talked about that.
- 48:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, I think we talked about that.
- 48:52SPEAKER_01: I think what's misunderstood is like, you know, people coming in and working out really hard and devoting time to the gym and not eating properly.
- 48:59SPEAKER_02: You know, I so that's what you think is like you can just outwork a bad diet type of thing.
- 49:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like people think that's you know, I I have a clip I have a client.
- 49:07SPEAKER_01: We all do and just like that.
- 49:11SPEAKER_01: Recently had a birthday, and I'm gonna do this, this, and this.
- 49:14SPEAKER_01: I said, we've been talking about this for three years.
- 49:16SPEAKER_01: And uh I would love to see you actually take some advice, even refer this person to you, but nothing happened.
- 49:24SPEAKER_02: I don't I was gonna say that.
- 49:25SPEAKER_01: We're not even gonna name it.
- 49:26SPEAKER_01: Um random anonymous person.
- 49:30SPEAKER_01: Um and I just said, I said, you know, you you can't not eat and then binge, even if it's healthy food, and eat once a day and then go to bed and think it's gonna be okay.
- 49:41SPEAKER_01: Especially a woman.
- 49:42SPEAKER_01: Especially a person.
- 49:45SPEAKER_01: Um so I think yeah, that's that's I think one of the most misunderstood things.
- 49:50SPEAKER_01: Because again, I misunderstood some things for the training that I was doing because I had never trained like that.
- 49:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 49:55SPEAKER_01: Now I know what I can and can't do.
- 49:56SPEAKER_01: And I can definitely, I can definitely go step over the line.
- 50:00SPEAKER_01: I love sweets.
- 50:01SPEAKER_01: I love those things, but I it doesn't make me it feels good in the moment, but it doesn't feel good later.
- 50:05SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 50:05SPEAKER_01: Like I, you know, you know, shitting five times a day.
- 50:09SPEAKER_02: I don't know that's what sweets did to you.
- 50:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, I'm saying it's like eating like crappy food.
- 50:13SPEAKER_01: Like my body's like, nope, no, get out, like expels it.
- 50:15SPEAKER_01: Like, like it doesn't, like, I don't get you know, it's like we've talked about this before, and it's like more common, I think, for uh females, right?
- 50:22SPEAKER_01: Where you get backed up.
- 50:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they do.
- 50:25SPEAKER_01: We do.
- 50:26SPEAKER_01: I don't have that problem.
- 50:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but I know when I don't when I eat something that's not on the regular, it's mmm, this doesn't agree, and it's like an immediate evacuation.
- 50:35SPEAKER_02: Clients will find that out now, like they'll switch their diets and then they'll go back to eating how they did, even one meal, and they're like, Oh, I had to go like rush to the bathroom.
- 50:42SPEAKER_02: Like you're saying, like, why does that happen?
- 50:43SPEAKER_02: I'm like, well, your body was used to crap, and now you've changed your microbiome a little to the good side, and it's not so inflammatory.
- 50:50SPEAKER_02: That's what surprises me is people like they live in this not feeling so great all the time.
- 50:56SPEAKER_02: Um, that's another thing that baffles me.
- 50:58SPEAKER_01: And I love thinking the latest and then we have to stir the pot is a Zapic.
- 51:01SPEAKER_02: Oh god.
- 51:02SPEAKER_01: The shortcut.
- 51:02SPEAKER_02: Can we talk about this in seven minutes?
- 51:04SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 51:05SPEAKER_02: That is my stir of the pot.
- 51:06SPEAKER_02: That's my stir-the-pop.
- 51:08SPEAKER_01: Uh but that's but but I think it's interesting to be.
- 51:10SPEAKER_02: Well, especially in Boca.
- 51:12SPEAKER_01: And I have seen so many people, and it's like, you know, again, another client, I'm doing this.
- 51:16SPEAKER_01: I'm like, okay, but you understand, like, you cannot continue to So what do you tell them?
- 51:20SPEAKER_01: What it when they decide hey, I always say if you're gonna try something like that, make sure you go the full distance, right?
- 51:27SPEAKER_01: Make sure if you're gonna do that, you're going to change how you eat because that'll assist.
- 51:33SPEAKER_01: But everybody wants a quick fix.
- 51:35SPEAKER_01: And even like a guy I had on the other day who created he was a CEO of Pillars Yogurt, great drinkable yogurt.
- 51:40SPEAKER_01: It's incredible.
- 51:41SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 51:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's very fit, and he always is like weird topics that came up.
- 51:48SPEAKER_01: It's like you can't, there are no shortcuts.
- 51:49SPEAKER_01: No, and there's no shortcuts in business, and there's no shortcuts in relationships.
- 51:52SPEAKER_02: Definitely not in business.
- 51:54SPEAKER_01: No shortcuts in the fitness world, it's it's consistent hard work, like the fit teas, everything like that.
- 52:00SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't market my product, ProPro, anything other than it's a delicious fucking snack made out of peanut butter.
- 52:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 52:07SPEAKER_01: And like I tell you when I talk to people like, well, does it have a duty gym?
- 52:10SPEAKER_01: Does it do this?
- 52:11SPEAKER_01: Does it do that?
- 52:12SPEAKER_02: I'm like, no, it's just like athletic greens in a pressing bar.
- 52:16SPEAKER_01: And it's like a great it's a healthier snack option.
- 52:18SPEAKER_01: Little snack that again, it's not gonna replace your meals, it's less than 200 calories, it's just a snack in addition to hopefully eating properly.
- 52:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, and that's all like.
- 52:29SPEAKER_03: They want the miracle product, Matt.
- 52:31SPEAKER_01: Right, and and I and I and that's that's what that's what kills me.
- 52:34SPEAKER_01: Because I see people come back, like everybody just came back from being away from the summer, and so yeah, are incredibly different looking in two months, and I'm like, hmm.
- 52:43SPEAKER_02: Well, so yeah, so the Ozepic thing, like you're saying, so even that client that comes to you first and is doing training, right?
- 52:51SPEAKER_02: Most people aren't even doing that.
- 52:52SPEAKER_02: So you have the data that's like it's gonna have muscle loss because when you're losing so much weight, it's not biased to just fat, like you're gonna lose muscle, you might lose some bone density, like things are bad when you're losing weight that quickly.
- 53:03SPEAKER_02: But the way to prevent that is high protein and working out.
- 53:07SPEAKER_02: Most people don't do that as it is.
- 53:09SPEAKER_02: If they did, we wouldn't be in as bad of a position, maybe, as where they think they need something like that.
- 53:14SPEAKER_02: But what I personally am not loving is like you have one camp of Instagram that's like, this is a great medication, and like let me let me just say it is a great medication, it does a lot of metabolic things.
- 53:24SPEAKER_02: It does, it does, we're stirring the pot, but I think people need honesty.
- 53:27SPEAKER_02: It helps a lot metabolically, it really does with cholesterol and insulin resistance, and um, for people who really need it, there is a subset that need it.
- 53:35SPEAKER_02: It's the I want to lose 10 to 15 pounds by next month.
- 53:40SPEAKER_02: I've tried diet and exercise, it doesn't work for me, and I'm like, no, you're doing the wrong diet, and probably exercise for you.
- 53:46SPEAKER_02: That's why it's not working.
- 53:47SPEAKER_02: You're trying keto 800 times a year.
- 53:49SPEAKER_02: Um, this is where you get me on my soapbox, and then that's what they want to do, and they don't want to be on it forever, but it's meant to be on it forever because we're not changing the lifestyle and behavior patterns to keep the results you're gonna get.
- 54:03SPEAKER_02: So if someone's now I instead of just telling people don't get on it, do this instead.
- 54:07SPEAKER_02: I'm like, you're gonna do what you're gonna do anyway.
- 54:08SPEAKER_02: I know you are, you're not gonna listen to me.
- 54:10SPEAKER_02: So now I'm gonna be the person that gets you off or shows you how to keep your results when you do get off.
- 54:15SPEAKER_02: That's great.
- 54:15SPEAKER_02: So now I've kind of just like changed my my you just learn they're not gonna listen, no one's gonna listen.
- 54:22SPEAKER_02: Everyone's gonna touch the pot, the iron when it's hot, right?
- 54:25SPEAKER_01: Famous word back in COVID.
- 54:26SPEAKER_02: You have to pivot.
- 54:27SPEAKER_02: Oh, by the way, let's not get into that, but that might be if that comes back again.
- 54:33SPEAKER_02: Oh god.
- 54:33SPEAKER_00: It's already here.
- 54:34SPEAKER_00: You didn't know?
- 54:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 54:35SPEAKER_02: It's back.
- 54:36SPEAKER_02: Mask mandates, and if they close gyms again and take away all the healthy things.
- 54:44SPEAKER_02: I don't know, Florida was awesome.
- 54:45SPEAKER_01: Texas is as hate as much as Florida.
- 54:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 54:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 54:48SPEAKER_02: But just in general, the way, like the I can't believe they're trying it again.
- 54:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 54:52SPEAKER_02: Are we really doing this again?
- 54:54SPEAKER_02: We didn't learn the first time?
- 54:56unknown: Apparently not.
- 54:59unknown: Apparently not.
- 54:59SPEAKER_02: Alright, and on that note, where can everyone find you, Matt?
- 55:03SPEAKER_02: If they want to follow you, try your products, all things.
- 55:05SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 55:06SPEAKER_01: Instagram, M War Williams, M W A R Williams, W-I-L-L-I-A-M S.
- 55:12SPEAKER_01: On Instagram.
- 55:13SPEAKER_01: LinkedIn, very generic name, Matthew Williams, um, South Florida, I think.
- 55:17SPEAKER_01: LinkedIn now, too.
- 55:19SPEAKER_01: I'll put it in the show notes too.
- 55:20SPEAKER_01: I don't like use it as much, but some people do it, do for the business side of things.
- 55:23SPEAKER_01: Facebook, obviously, you know, South Florida.
- 55:25SPEAKER_01: There's a lot of Matthew Williams, but uh podcast is on Spotify and iTunes as well.
- 55:29SPEAKER_01: Um The Sun Show.
- 55:31SPEAKER_01: Uh and uh you can see and hear, or no, see, you can hear your episode from several years ago, and hopefully when I get to Austin, we'll do another one.
- 55:40SPEAKER_01: Really store.
- 55:41SPEAKER_02: Hopefully, you can hear this episode and not just see it.
- 55:44SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 55:45SPEAKER_00: It's technology, right?
- 55:48SPEAKER_02: Awesome, done.
